Abstract

This research aims to determine the map of the development of research on Mathematics Communication, namely a study of bibliometrics by VosViewer. The study was conducted starting in January 2021 by searching the keyword “Mathematics Communication” in the Science Direct database and choosing the open access system. The search result data is then stored in the form of a Research Information System (RIS) and analyzed descriptively using VosViewer to see developments on the topic from year to year, the types of documents that are widely published, the name of the author who has discussed the most about the case, the name of the publishing institution and the topics that appear most frequently from thousands of journals that have been processed using VosViewer. The results showed that the map of the development of research on Mathematics Communication has existed since 1997 and increases rapidly from year to year. The article that publishes the most on this topic is Research Articles with the publisher’s name Procedia Computer Science as many as 2662 documents. Meanwhile, the author who published the most on this topic was Yusof, Yudariah Mohammad, until May 28, 2021. The most dominant issue that appears was “communication”, followed by the topic of “systems” and “students”. Network visualization shows that a line demonstrates the relationship between issues between the descriptors in each field. The more relationships between the lines indicate the closer relationships between documents.ch on that topic.: Indicate the main conclusions or interpretations.

Abstract

This study aimed to help improve school financial management by diverting the recording of financial data manually and presenting it manually through an android-based financial report presentation model to Muhammadiyah Vocational Schools in Medan City. The android-based financial report presentation model is carried out using descriptive qualitative methods based on the level of effectiveness and efficiency of using tools in the process of analyzing school financial data and supporting government efforts to reduce community activities outside the home, including education workers in order to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus as well as in efforts to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus in improving the quality of education through the use and use of technology. This research was carried out in several stages, starting from the stage of determining the problem, finding supporting data, and reaching the stage of data analysis; a model was obtained that was able to improve time efficiency in the presentation of financial statements when this model was applied to Muhammadiyah Vocational Schools in particular and other schools in Indonesia. This study used Research and Development (RD). The research step was to collect data and design a product in a literacy model design based on school culture. The components of developing a school culture-based digital literacy model consist of participants, select participants, a digital literacy program in the form of training, the content of digital literacy programs in the form of exercise, media, teaching materials, assessment, program socialization, implementation, evaluation and mentoring. This research is the design of a guideline for implementing a school culture-based digital literacy model that can be used in digital literacy activities in schools.

8. Evaluating Cognitive Level of Final Semester Examination Questions Based on Bloom’s Revised Taxonomy

Abstract

This paper addresses the question of how cognitive levels covering high, middle, and low order thinking skills are delineated in the questions seen from Bloom’s revised taxonomic framework and stimulus. To answer this question, the final-term examination questions from five faculty courses were analyzed through document analysis. The documented examination questions are categorized and reviewed based on cognitive levels referring to revised Bloom’s taxonomy. The questions are also construed based on the stimulus in each question. The results report that the cognitive level of tests is not wholly based on higher-order thinking skills. Of the five courses, only one follows the higher-order thinking skills-based question-writing system, and none of the items refers to middle-order thinking skills. Thus, the cognitive level on the test instruments has not led to an increase in thinking skills or is still at a low level of thinking.

10. Students' perceptions of elementary schoolteacher education on online learning

Abstract

Facial expression teaching has been replaced by virtual due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic. The government's policy of homeschooling has led to the practice of virtual learning. Teachers' low readiness in planning, designing, and developing has shaped learners' perceptions of virtual education. This study explores how students perceive online education as a result of attending classes at home during the COVID-19 epidemic. There are 57 students involved in this case study, which uses a qualitative approach. Data was gathered using online surveys and semi-structured interviews. Thematic analysis in NVIVO 12 Plus was used for data analysis. This research reveals that teachers, students, learning resources, instruction, and technology have all impacted how students perceive online learning. As a consequence, teachers must improve their abilities. This research is meaningful in developing teaching and learning in the study program. Pada website pemesanan jasa rumah teknisi atau di sebut dengan service computer dan jaringan computer atau di kenal internet merupakan website yang di rancangkan untuk menerima booking service untuk toko rumah teknisi computer dan jaringan internet. Pada kali ini website yang di rancangkan agar bisa mencatat riwayat servis dari PC Desktop, Laptop dan pada masalah jaringan computer. Aplikasi ini dibuat menggunakan bahasa pemrogramman Web, PHP dan HTML yang digunakan adalah MySQL dan xampp. Aplikasi ini memiliki 2 aktor yaitu Pelanggan, dan Teknisi. Hasil dari penelitian ini memberikan sistem pemesanan jasa rumahteknisi komputer berbasis web yang mudah, cepat dan akurat serta dapat diakses melalui berbagai gadget yang tersambung jaringan internet.

12. I've got mirgee, innit? : South Asian's health and religious beliefs and experiences of epilepsy

Abstract

The full impact of ethnicity and religion on the health beliefs and behaviours of minorities has yet to be explored. Research has failed to look at the unique position of those who have been born and raised within the West. Also, existing research has failed to explore the impact of plural medicine on minority health beliefs and behaviours. This thesis aims to explore the use of Western and non-Western medical discourses in the health beliefs and behaviours of British South Asians in relation to epilepsy. It addresses issues of religious beliefs and behaviours in relation to the causes of epilepsy, the impact of epilepsy on the lives of individuals, plurality/syncrecy of medical discourses and experiences of NHS services. This study used data gathered from qualitative in-depth interviews with a total of 55 people (30 South Asians with epilepsy, 15 carers and 10 health professionals) and from two focus groups with 16 community members without epilepsy. Fieldwork was conducted in Bradford, which has a sizeable South Asian population. For people with epilepsy, a purposive sample was generated using data from the local epilepsy register. Ethical approval was obtained from the Bradford Local Research Ethics Committee. The sample was divided by religious groupings (Muslims, Sikhs and Hindus). The framework approach was chosen for data analysis. This research found that over half of the interviewees attributed their epilepsy to fate and the will of God, or as punishment for sins of a past life. Some had experienced prejudice from people who believed that their epilepsy was contagious. A strong network of traditional healers was found, providing an "invisible" parallel system of health care in the UK. People turned to religio-spiritual treatments in desperation for a cure, often under the influence of their families after the perceived failure of Western medication. Such treatments were viewed as complementary rather than as an alternative to Western medication. In terms of NHS services, interviewees expressed dissatisfaction with their GPs - particularly South Asian GPs - but regarded specialist nurses as the most helpful health professionals. Overall, lack of appropriate information and advice and language and communication barriers were perceived as major problems in providing a quality service. Health professionals felt that a South Asian liaison worker with knowledge of epilepsy would be ideal to improve services.

Kita sering menjumpai antrian di tempat-tempat yang menyediakan layanan publik, seperti restoran cepat saji, kantor pos, supermarket, taman hiburan, dan banyak lagi. Distribusi kedatangan, distribusi waktu pelayanan, fasilitas pelayanan, disiplin pelayanan, ukuran antrian, dan sumber panggilan merupakan elemen penting dari sistem antrian. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menentukan pelayanan yang optimal sehingga pelayanan pengunjung pada wahana hiburan menjadi lebih efektif, efesien,dan memuaskan para pengunjung yang datang ke wahana tersebut. Antrian terjadi ketika ada pelanggan yang harus menunggu untuk mendapatkan pelayanan. Suatu proses antrian adalah suatu proses yang berhubungan dengan kedatangan seorang pelanggan pada suatu fasilitas pelayanan, kemudian menunggu dalam suatu baris (antrian) jika pelayanannya sibuk dan akhirnya meninggalkan fasilitas tersebut setelah dilayani. Penelitian ini menghasilkan sistem antrian dengan metode FIFO (First In First Out) dengan menggunakan c++. Dari data ini dapat dilihat bahwa pelayanannya sangat cepat dan tingkat kedatangan pelanggan sangat lambat.

Pengelolaan arsip dalam suatu isntansi, lembaga, organisasi maupun perorangan menjadi kebutuhan yang sangat penting dalam proses pemeliharaannya. Arsip merupakan sumber informasi yang sangat penting dalam sebuah administrasi, namun pengelolaan arsip sering terabaikan dan belum efisien, hal ini dapat menyebabkan berbagai masalah dari kerusakan arsip sampai hilangnya data arsip. Pemeliharaan arsip yang baik sangat menentukan proses pencarian arsip yang sudah tersimpan. Arsip harus dikelola dengan baik, hal ini karena arsip |merupakan catatan rekaman kegiatan atau sumber informasi dengan berbagai macam bentuk yang dibuat oleh instansi, lembaga, organisasi maupun perseorangan dalam rangka pelaksanaan kegiatan. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan pada pengelolaan arsip di SMK Tri Karya meliputi pencatatan surat masuk dan surat keluar dilakukan dengan cara manual, penyimpanan dan pemeliharaan arsip yang kurang baik, tempat penyimpanan arsip yang tidak terawat dan sulit untuk pencarian arsip. Sehingga perlu adanya sistem informasi untuk pengelolaan arsip, sistem informasi arsip dibangun dengan menggunakan bahasa pemograman PHP dan My Sql berbasis web. Hasil dari perancangan ini berupa sistem informasi arsip berbasis web yang dapat mengelola pencatatan surat masuk, surat keluar, pencarian surat, dan penyimpanan arsip secara digital.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Breakout Room Aplikasi Zoom terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa PGSD pada mata kuliah Strategi Belajar Mengajar tahun akademik 2020/2021. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu pre-experimental design dengan desain penelitian the one shoot case study. Populasi penelitian yaitu mahasiswa Semester dua Program studi PGSD sebanyak 45 orang. Teknik penentuan sampel menggunakan simple random sampling dan pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan non tes. Teknik analisa data yaitu teknik statistik deskriptif dan inferensial untuk menguji hipotesis penelitian melalui anava dua jalur, taraf signifikan 0,05. Uji persyaratan yang dilakukan adalah uji normalitas menggunakan liliefors sedangkan uji homogenitas menggunakan uji F Bartlett dengan kriteria jika Fhitung Ftabel pada taraf signifikan 5 % maka hipotesis diterima. Abstract

This study aims to determine whether students' increasing mathematical communication skills, who received the Problem-Based Learning assisted by GeoGebra 3D Augmented Reality based on Culture, was higher than the increase of mathematical communication skills students who did not receive the problem-based learning model assisted by culture-based Augmented Reality. The students' mathematical communication skills included connecting natural objects, pictures, and diagrams into mathematical ideas, expressing mathematical ideas orally, writing and describing them to symbols or visuals, using language, notation, and mathematical structures to present and communicate ideas to conclude. This research is a quasi-experimental research with a population of all students of SMP Muhammadiyah 04 Medan, Indonesia. Two classes were selected randomly from the available courses. The experimental class was treated with a culture-based Augmented Reality-assisted problem-based learning model. In contrast, the control class did not give any treatment. Data analysis was performed by t-test. The results showed that the increasing mathematical communication skills students taught through a culture-based Augmented Reality-assisted problem-based learning model was higher than the rising mathematical communication skills of students who did not receive a culture-based Augmented Reality-assisted problem-based learning model. Abstract

This research aimed to determine whether there was the difference between the average results of the pre-test and post-test on students' mathematical literacy skills through the discovery learning model. It was conducted using Pre- Experimental Research with the research population being all students of Grade VII SMP Quran Kisaran. Class sample selection was done randomly and selectively. The instrument used was the test of students' mathematical literacy skills. The data in this research were analyzed by using parametric statistical analysis. Statistical analysis of the data was carried out by using Paired Sample T-test analysis. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the results of the pre-test and post-test on students' mathematical literacy skills through discovery learning; and the mean of pre-test and post-test was 26.67 in pre-test and 34.87 in post-test. Based on the data, it was found that students who were in the fast understanding category were more active in groups and better in making ideas in their own arguments than students who still did not understand or had difficulty understanding the problems, but the data obtained was not valid, researchers only conducted observation and interview to determine the categories of students who understood quickly or not, so that it becomes a suggestion for further researchers to pay more attention to the students' skills in the high, medium, and low categories, so that later it can be concluded strongly that this model is more recommended for high, medium, or low skill. Abstract

The 21st century which is the century of globalization requires humans to have skills. One of them is thinking skills to survive and compete in global competition. Therefore, we need a learning model that can train students' critical thinking skills. The purpose of this study was to see whether there was a difference in the average results of pre-test and post-test on students' critical thinking skills using the PBL (Project Based Learning) model through the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematic) approach. Class sample selection is made randomly and selectively. The instrument used tests students' critical thinking skills with the material of linear equations and inequalities of one variable. The data in this study were analyzed using parametric statistical analysis. Statistical analysis of the data was performed using the Paired Sample T-Test analysis. From the research data, the average pre-test = 60.83 and the average post-test=65.63 with n1 = 30 and n2 = 30 obtained the Sig (2-tailed) value is 0.000<0.05, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference. Abstract

This study is aimed to determine whether there were the differences in the average pre-test and post-test results on students' mathematical communication ability through the ethnomathematics-based Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) model. It was conducted using Pre-Experimental Research with the research population being all students of Grade VIIE SMP Quran Kisaran. Class sample selection is done randomly and selectively. The instrument used was a test of students' mathematical communication ability with quadrilateral material. The data in this study were analyzed by using parametric statistical analysis. Statistical analysis of the data was carried out by using the Paired Sample T Test analysis. The results showed that (1) There was a significant difference between the results of the pre-test and post-test on students' mathematical communication ability through Ethnomathematical-based POGIL Learning; and the average pre-test and post-test were 26.17 in.the pre-test and 34.3667 in.the post-test. The findings obtained during the research on the application of the ethnomathematical-based POGIL model showed that students who were in the fast- understanding category were more active in groups and were better able to create ideas in the form of their own arguments compared to students who still did not understand or had difficulty understanding the problem, however, the data obtained was not valid enough, researchers only conduct observation and interview to determine the category of students who understand quickly or not, so it becomes a suggestion for further researchers to pay more attention to students' abilities in the high, medium, and low categories, so that later it will be concluded strongly that this model is more recommended for high, medium or low capabilities. Abstract

The low ability of students' mathematics literacy is caused by the implementation of learning with accordance based on curriculum planning. Mathematics literacy is the foundation and basis for life skills and becomes an international standard in measuring students' abilities besides science and reading literacy. Problem Based Learning (PBL) in the Ethnomathematics context is one possible alternative to increase students' mathematics literacy. The learning experience is presented based on cultural problems related to mathematical context. The aim of the study is to describe Problem Based Learning (PBL) in Ethnomathematics context toward Acehnese culture in the reflection of transformation geometry material. The type of research was applied a descriptive qualitative approach. The research was conducted at MTs Jabal Nur, North Aceh. The subject of research was 28 students of class IX.4. The data were collected by tests, interviews, and observation. The results showed that 1) the average ability of students' mathematics literacy was 11,43 with the total score was 16 or 71,44%, 2) students activities observation in learning was 93.33% or very good category. The enthusiasm of students to learn mathematics increased but it was hindered by the loss of mathematics meaningfulness because learning mathematics is still presented separately in the manner of students' real-world context. Abstract

Massa pandemic covid 19 ini sebagian besar institusi pendidikan melaksanakan proses belajar dan mengajar secara online, termasuk dalam melaksanakan ujian. Ujian merupakan tahap evaluasi dari pemahaman siswa terhadap materi yang diberikan. Dari permasalahan tersebut memunculkan gagasan untuk membuat suatu sistem manajemen bank soal dan ujian berbasis website. Hal ini bertujuan untuk mempermudah guru dalam memberikan ujian dan proses pemberian nilai ujian yang efektif dan efisien. Sistem manajemen bank soal dan ujian berbasis website dibuat dengan menggunakan Sublime Text sebagai software pengolah data. Dalam penelitian ini proses sistem manajemen soal dan ujian yang sudah dilakukan oleh pihak sekolah secara online menggunakan aplikasi CBT. Tetapi banyak siswa yang tidak memiliki fasilitas laptop/komputer sehingga menjadi kendala oleh pihak sekolah. Sehingga penulis membuat sistem manajemen soal dan ujian berbasis web menggunakan platform android. Karena sekarang ini setiap siswa sudah mempunyai android sehingga dapat memudahkan siswa dalam mengikuti proses ujian. Hasil dari penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan adanya sistem manajemen bank soal dan ujian berbasis website, diharapkan dapat membantu kinerja guru dalam mengelola soal dan ujian.

Abstract

Pembelajaran selama pandemi menuntut guru dapat beradaptasi dengan teknologi untuk menyajikan pembelajaran yang bermakna. Namun kurangnya kemampuan teknologi terkhusus dalam bidang desain grafis menjadi permasalah untuk menghadirkan bahan ajar yang menarik dan efektif bagi siswa. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk membuat bahan ajar berbasis komik menggunakan adobe illustrator. Kegiatan ini menggunakan metode fenomenologi yaitu metode untuk memahami makna yang tersembunyi dan hakiki dari suatu pengalaman. Kegiatan ini melibatkan 19 guru SMP Muhammadiyah 47 Sunggal. Tahapan kegiatan PKM ini meliputi tahap persiapan, perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi lapangan, wawancara selama kegiatan berlangsung, dan dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh oleh tim PKM selanjutnya akan di analisis secara deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan membuat bahan ajar berbasis komik dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, yaitu: teknologi yang digunakan, kesulitan dalam desain dan motivasi guru. Kegiatan PKM ini memberikan pemaparan yang jelas dalam pemanfaatan aplikasi adobe illusutrator (AI) dalam proses pembuatan bahan ajar berbasis komik.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out: (1) Is the increase in mathematical critical thinking abilities of students given the guided discovery method assisted by Geogebra software higher than students who were given guided discovery method learning without Geogebra software, (2) Are their interactions between learning with students 'initial mathematical abilities towards improving students' critical thinking skills. This research is a quasi-experimental study. The population of this study is that all classes in the fourth-semester mathematics education study program are approximately 120 people. Randomly, two classes were chosen from four classes. The experimental class was treated with Geogebra assisted guided discovery methods and the control class was treated with a guided discovery method without the help of Geogebra. Data analysis was performed by analysis of two-way variance (ANAVA). The results showed (1) Improvement of mathematical critical thinking skills of groups of students who obtained guided discovery method learning using GeoGebra software was higher than the group of students who received learning through guided discovery methods without GeoGebra software.
