The importance of site selection for road transportation management and emergency services has been underscored, particularly in the wake of the global Covid-19 pandemic in addition to road accident injuries, which emphasized the need for swift patient, injured and wounded peoples transfer to hospitals. As a result, comprehensive road transportation management is essential during crises to ensure the safety and convenience of road users. To achieve effective road network management, a robust database is imperative. The aim of this study is to employ multi-criteria decision analysis with the aid of Geographical Information System (GIS) technology and remote sensing for the optimization of site selection for traffic signals, fire stations, and emergency services in Kafr El-Sheikh city, Egypt. The methodology incorporates two different methods which are Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (F-AHP) and the spline transformation method. The integration of Fuzzy set theory with AHP principles has given rise to a variant of AHP known as F-AHP. F-AHP combines qualitative and quantitative approaches. Fuzzy logic handles situations that are vague or poorly defined by assigning numerical values. Through the F-AHP approach, criteria that decision-makers unanimously deem “absolutely not important” in comparison to others are eliminated, allowing them to focus on the most significant criteria. As a case study, an Egyptian city was selected to apply these techniques. The results revealed multiple sites that were identified and selected through the applied analytical methods. These selected sites were also marked on the city map and verified in reality.

Education in Indonesia has many and various problems including formal, non-formal and informal education. Teaching assistantships can provide solutions because students are under the guidance of field supervisors in educational units such as elementary schools. Places for the implementation of this teaching assistance are located in urban or remote areas. The aims of the teaching assistance program in educational units are: 1) Increase student interest in the field of education and teach and deepen their knowledge. 2) Increase equity in the quality of education, as well as the relevance of basic education in accordance with the times. The competencies of prospective elementary school teacher students include activity planning, implementation (teaching, technology adaptation, administration), reporting, personality and social. This study uses a survey type quantitative research method. Based on the results of the correlation test (rxy or rcount = 0.90 with a significant level of 0.05 with the number (n) = 23 students, so that rtable= 0.413, the results of the hypothetical test show that tcount = 3.52 with ttable = 1.72. Thus that there are a significant effect of 90% of teaching assistants in schools on the competence of prospective teachers of SD PGSD FKIP, Santo Thomas Catholic University.

In solving the problems associated with the design and operation of large canals with many subsurface channels, it is important to determine the parameters of the parameters of the grids moving under the bottom and the flow rates. To date, a large number of field and laboratory research data on the movement of groups in the world have been obtained. Attempts have been made by some authors to summarize this information, but so far they have not been able to obtain perfectly reliable results. Therefore, new suggestions are being made by researchers to improve the formulas previously obtained.

This research work focuses on the potential application of an organic compound, santalol, obtained from santalum album, in the inhibition of the enzyme tyrosinase, which is actively involved in the biosynthesis of melanin pigment. Over-production of melanin causes undesirable pigmentation in humans as well as other organisms and significantly downgrades their aesthetic value. The study is designed to explain the purification of tyrosinase from the mushroom Agaricus bisporus, followed by activity assays and enzyme kinetics to give insight into the santalol-modulated tyrosinase inhibition in a dose-dependent manner. The multi-spectroscopic techniques such as UV-vis, fluorescence, and isothermal calorimetry are employed to deduce the efficiency of santalol as a potential candidate against tyrosinase enzyme activity. Experimental results are further verified by molecular docking. Santalol, derived from the essential oils of santalum album, has been widely used as a remedy for skin disorders and a potion for a fair complexion since ancient times. Based on enzyme kinetics and biophysical characterization, this is the first scientific evidence where santalol inhibits tyrosinase, and santalol may be employed in the agriculture, food, and cosmetic industries to prevent excess melanin formation or browning.

Copper and associated gold mineralization in the Mundiyawas-Khera area of western India is hosted by the Proterozoic felsic volcanic rocks of rhyo-dacite composition. Signatures of hydrothermal alteration represented by sericite, epidote, scapolite and carbonates are well observed around the ore mineralization zone. The felsic volcanic rocks with gently to flat sloping REE pattern, variable negative Eu anomaly, intermediate abundances of HFSE and moderate to low Zr/Y anomalies are suggested to be FII, FIIIa and FIV type rhyolite. The felsic volcanic host rock for copper mineralization has a depleted and flat HREE pattern and indicates the crustal source, which is garnet free. Negative Eu anomaly in the rock is probably because of the intracrustal partial melting formed in a rift related environment. The high temperature magmatic activities are probably evolved due to the partial melting of crust at shallow to moderate depths, suggesting an evolved continental crust. The δ13C values of the mineralized carbonate veins range between −10.4‰ and −0.9 ‰ (min = −10.6‰, n = 27), whereas the δ18O values show a range of 16.35‰ to 25.23‰ (min = 21.49‰, n = 27), ideally suggesting a mixed source for the ore bearing fluid. Geological, geochemical and stable isotope data of the Mundiyawas-Khera copper deposit suggest it to be a VMS/VHMS setup and these insights will lead to finding new deposits in the nearby areas, having same stratigraphic horizons and similar lithogeochemical assemblages.

INTRODUÇÃO: A fibroelastose endocárdica (FEE) é definida como espessamento difuso do endocárdio ventricular em função da proliferação de fibras colágenas e elásticas. Pode ser classificada como primária ou secundária. A FEE primária apresenta-se na forma dilatada, mais comum, ou na forma restritiva. Geralmente manifesta-se como insuficiência cardíaca inexplicada, em crianças com menos de 12 meses de idade. OBJEIVOS: Avaliar aspectos epidemiológicos, clínicos e anatomopatológicos da FEE primária. MATERIAL E MÉTODO: Foram pesquisadas, entre 1960 e 2000, 6.211 necropsias perinatais e pediátricas do Hospital de Clínicas da Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR), tendo sido verificados 11 casos de FEE. RESULTADOS: Em nove casos (81,8%), o surgimento dos sintomas ocorreu antes de 1 ano de idade. Em oito (72,7%), o óbito ocorreu antes de 1 ano de idade. Dentre os sinais clínicos, destacaram-se taquipnéia (54,5%), hepatomegalia (45,5%), tosse (36,4%), cianose (36,4%) e febre (36,4%). Todas as radiografias (n = 6) apresentavam cardiomegalia. O espessamento endocárdico predominou no coração esquerdo (90,9%). A causa de óbito foi insuficiência respiratória aguda em cinco casos (45,5%) e choque cardiogênico em quatro (36,4%). DISCUSSÃO E CONCLUSÕES: Os resultados mostram acometimento predominante de crianças com menos de 1 ano de idade e rápida progressão para óbito. Sinais clínicos freqüentes, como taquipnéia, tosse e febre, sugeriram infecção respiratória, que foi confirmada por necropsia em três casos (27,3%). Os exames complementares mostraram apenas achados sugestivos de insuficiência cardíaca. Os dados analisados neste estudo mostram que, em nosso meio, a FEE primária não difere significativamente do que é apresentado na literatura internacional em relação a características epidemiológicas, clínicas e anatomopatológicas.BACKGROUND: Endocardial fibroelastosis (EFE) is a diffuse thickening of the ventricular endocardium resulting from proliferation of fibrous and elastic tissue. Primary and secondary forms have been described. Primary EFE occurs in the dilated and contracted forms. EFE usually manifests as unexplained congestive heart failure in infants younger than 1 year old. OBJECTIVES: To analyze the epidemiologic, clinical and anatomopathological aspects of primary EFE. METHODS: Eleven cases of histologically confirmed EFE were found in 6211 necropsies performed between 1960 and 2000 in the Hospital of the University of Paraná. Results: In nine cases (81.8%) the initial clinical presentation occurred before the age of 1 year. In eight cases (72.7%) patients died before the age of 1 year. The most common clinical findings were tachypnea (54.5%), hepatomegaly (45.5%), cough (36.4%) and fever (36.4%). Cardiomegaly was the main radiographic finding, present in all cases (n = 6). The endocardial thickening was more frequent at the left heart (90.9%). The death cause was acute respiratory failure in five cases (45.5%) and cardiogenic chock in four cases (36.4%). DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS: The results showed that EFE affects usually infants younger than 1 year old that rapidly progress to death. Some common clinical findings like tachypnea, cough and fever suggested respiratory infection which was confirmed by necropsy in three cases (27.3%). The complementary tests showed only non-specific findings of congestive heart failure. The information analyzed here demonstrated no significant difference of the epidemiological, clinical and anatomopathological characteristics of primary EFE between Brazil and the international literature.

O presente estudo tece investigações sobre os aspectos epidemiológicos de malformações do aparelho urinário de uma população de natimortos, neomortos, lactentes, pré-escolares e escolares de uma amostra representativa da população de Curitiba e região metropolitana - análise de 40 anos de necropsias na Unidade de Patologia Pediátrica e Perinatal (UPPP) do Serviço de Anatomia Patológica do Hospital de Clínicas de Curitiba da Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR). Variáveis como sexo, idade, faixa etária e causas de morte são correlacionadas, estratificando a amostra em grupos específicos de indivíduos, apontando anormalidades epidemiológicas, doenças raras e a relação das doenças com o processo de morte. Foram encontrados 182 casos com malformações do aparelho urinário, correspondendo a 2,9% do número de necropsias avaliadas. Não foram observadas diferenças entre os sexos, e houve maior prevalência de recém-natos com tais anormalidades. A classe mais prevalente foi a de malformações renais e de trato urinário superior, com 150 casos.
