The paper contextualizes and reflects on the essay-films John and the Street (1967) and Acropolis (2001) by prominent Greek filmmakers Tonia Marketaki (1942--1994) and Eva Stefani (b. 1964), respectively. Created at different moments in modern Greek history, the two films nonetheless address the tension between history and personal experience in the public sphere, especially as this tension marks the urban context of Athens. The analysis explores how the two films challenge hegemonic national narratives while tracing "subterranean" alternative subjectivities. It emphasizes the aesthetic practices developed by the filmmakers and examines whether these practices contribute to what Jacques Rancière has described as a possible reconfiguration of "the distribution of the sensible," and whether they help to envision urban reality as a spatio-temporal field of ever emergent potentialities. Dialogue (diálogos) is a fundamental concept in the existential foundations of philosophy, and metaphysics, from Aristotle to the present day, has been the fundamental form and very essence of philosophy. The first forms of dialogue can be traced back to ancient Greek tragedy, which portrays fateful events. In these tragedies, the chorus and actors engage in a dialogue that goes beyond everyday conversation. It serves to represent and understand these fateful events, involving both the posing of a thesis (statement) and its antithesis (opposition) in ancient Greek terms. This logical and linguistic structure finds its foundation in the concept of logos, which for Heraclitus extends beyond mere speech or words. The foundations of philosophical dialogue lie partly in ancient tragedy and partly in Heraclitus' concept of the struggle of opposites. Dialogue is a form of communication aimed at overcoming misunderstandings. It is distinct in its origin, foundation, and multifaceted development from both discussion and dispute. Particularly in the context of contemporary communication, it is valuable to revisit some of the elements and characteristics that differentiate these terms. From a historical perspective, philosophical dialogues are not always unambiguous or unified in form. Therefore, it is important to re-emphasize the core thread and crucial significance of philosophical dialogue, which has persisted for millennia and embodies the "eternal return" to humanity's metaphysical quest for truth and meaning. Članak daje kritički osvrt na knjigu Dejana Đokića „A Concise History of Serbia“, objavljenoj u Velikoj Britaniji i Sjedinjenim Američkim Državama 2023. godine. Analizirajući Đokićevu knjigu, ovaj rad ukazuje na njene propuste, kako u metodološkom tako i u faktografskom smislu. U svojim poznim tekstovima Fuko je ponudio jedno tumačenje Kanta koje mu daje povlašćeno mesto u istoriji mišljenja kao osnivaču naše modernosti. Fukoovi protivnici (Frejzer, Habermas i drugi) su to protumačili kao dokaz nedovoljnosti Fukoove ranije kritike Kanta, kao i kritike modernosti. Sam Fuko je uglavnom insistirao na razlikama između Kantove kritike i svog istraživanja o istorijskim uslovima znanja. Cilj ovog rada je da koriguje tezu Fukoovih kritičara, ali i Fukoovo samorazumevanje, i to kroz razmatranje njegovog pojma „istorijskog a priori“. Fukoov pokušaj da predstavi Kanta kao začetnika épistémè čoveka, koja je obeležena mešanjem empirijskog i transcendentalnog, podložan je kritici. Pored toga, neke teme Kantove kritičke filozofije: kontingencija ljudskih moći saznanja, definicija znanja u terminima odnosa između „vidljivog“ i „iskazivog“ i, na opštijem planu, pitanje granica znanja, znatno su uticale na Fukoa. S druge strane, Fukoovi kritičari su propustili da primete da se on distancirao od kantovskog ispitivanja uslova mogućnosti „istinitog saznanja“ zarad održivosti sopstvenog istraživanja faktičkog znanja i mogućnosti prevazilaženja njegovih granica. Slično tome, Fuko se u svojoj nestandardnoj interpretaciji Kantovog spisa o prosvećenosti ograđuje od univerzalističkih tendencija njegove filozofije i naglašava motive hrabrosti, individualne autonomije i otpora autoritetu koji su prisutni u Kantovom pozivu: „Imaj hrabrosti da se služiš sopstvenim razumom!“.

This article examines the historical context of drug use in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes and the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Rezultati procene koji se saopštavaju u ovom članku deo su šireg istraživanja o demografskim prilikama i stanovništvu, preduzetog u okviru projekta "Naselja i stanovništvo Oblasti Brankovića 1455. godine", koji je organizovao Odbor za naučno proučavanje stanovništva Srpske akademije nauka i umetnosti. Osnovu za procenu demografskih parametara predstavljali su rezultati fiskalnog popisa iz 1455 godine. Popis su sprovele turske vlasti po osvajanju Oblasti Brankovića, koja je geografski pripadala jednom delu današnjeg Kosova. On je spadao u kategoriju feudalnog popisa, u kojem su registrovane novčane i naturalne obaveze stanovništva prema lokalnim feudalnim vlastima. Prema propisima turskih vlasti predmet popisa su predstavljali poljoprivrednici i drugi stanovnici sela i mešovitih naselja, a ne i stočari i stanovništvo gradskih naselja kao i ono koje je bilo u vojnoj i feudalnoj službi. Popisom je obuhvaćeno 645 sela, uključujući i 42 opustela, 1 mešovito naselje 15 crkava i manastira, medu kojima i 2 napuštene i 31 mezra. Za svaku od ovih jedinica registrovana su imena muškaraca i žena-udovica poreskih obveznika, koji su se nalazili na celu "kuća" ili delova "kuća" u slučaju višegeneracijskih porodica, zatim imena monaha i neoženjenih muškaraca (koji su prema turskim propisima takođe bili poreski obveznici). Uz imena starešina "kuća"muškaraca (ne i za ostale kategorije poreskih obveznika) naveden je dodatni podatak, naješće o porodičnom poreklu(ime oca) ili rodbinskoj vezi sa nekim od popisanih poreskih obveznika, ređe podaci o zanimanju, narodnosti, migracionom obeležju ili socijalnom statusu. Procene demografskih parametara izrađene su na dva nivoa: prvi, čiji je neposredni izvor turski popis, i drugi, koji nema uporište u rezultatima popisa. Na prvom nivou procenjen je ukupan broj stanovnika i strukture muškaraca starešina"kuća" prema zanimanju, narodnosti i migracionom i socijalnom statusu, a na drugom, starosno-polna struktura i visina nataliteta i mortaliteta stanovništva. Kao metod procene ukupnog broja stanovnika korišćen je indeks o prosečnoj veličini "kuće". Za „kuću“ na čijem čelu su muškarci indeks je procenjen na 4,40. Pri ovoj proceni imale su se u vidu primenjene definicije "kuće" u popisu i dugo trajanje neredovnih prilika za vreme ratnih godina. Vrednost indeksa o prosečnoj veličini "kuće" na čijem su delu žene-udovice procenjen je na 2,50. Ova procena je zasnovana na pretpostavci da su se na delu "kuća" u najvećem broju nalazile mlađe žene-udovice i da one zadržavaju status starešine do ženidbe najstarijeg sina. Neoženjeni muškarci i monasi vrednovani su sa indeksom 1. Na osnovu procenjenih indeksa i podataka popisa o broju poreskih obveznika ukupan broj stanovnika Oblasti je procenjen na 67480 (tabela 2). Procena broja stanovnika po starosti izvršena je po velikim grupama. Iznete su dve hipoteze. Prva, 42% dece do 14 godina temelji se na sastavu porodice koji pretpostavlja indeks o prosečnoj veličini "kuće" i druga, 3% stanovništva 65 i više godina - oslanja se na uobičajenu proporciju starih u populacijama sa visokim natalitetom i mortalitetom. Procena polne strukture je izvršena na osnovu hipoteza o broju muškaraca na 100 žena: u starosnoj grupi 0-14 godina pretpostavljeno je da indeks iznosi 100, u starosnoj grupi 15-64 godine 90, a u starosnoj grupi 65 i više godina 70. Ove hipoteze su zasnovane na uticaju neredovnih prilika kroz koje je prolazilo stanovništvo Oblasti u poslednjih 60 godina. Rezultati procene starosne strukture prikazani su u tabeli 3. Visina nataliteta je procenjena na osnovu sledećih hipoteza: udeo žena 15-49 godina u ukupnom broju žena je 49%, udeo plodnih žena u reproduktivnom dobu je 64%, udeo plodnih žena koji nije učestvovao u prokreativnom periodu u posmatranoj godini iznosio je 15-25% i verovatnoća začeća žena aktivnih u prokreativnom procesu je 0,36%. Hipoteze su zasnovane opštim demografskim znanjima i uslovima kroz koje je prolazilo stanovništvo Oblasti. Rezultati su prikazani u tri varijante (tabela 4), s tim što je ocenjeno da je visina stope 43,7 i 46,6 bliža realnosti nego stopa sa vrednošću 49,5‰. Procena visine opšteg mortaliteta, u odsustvu izvornih podataka, oslanja se na raspoložive podatke za srednjevekovne populacije. U tom smislu korišćeni su podaci o srednjem trajanju života. Izrađene su 4 varijante (tabela 5) prema kojima se opšta stopa mortaliteta u Oblasti mogla kretati između 37,0 i 43,5‰, s tim što je prednost data varijantama sa višimvrednostima. Socijalne i ekonomske strukture su procenjene na osnovu parcijalnih podataka popisa. Njihova je osobenost što su na pitanja o strukturnim obeležjima registrovani samo odgovori koji su se razlikovali od tipične situacije većinskog dela populacije i što su odgovori dati samo za jedno od strukturnih obeležja. Na osnovu dobijenih rezultata o ekonomskoj strukturi dominiraju poljoprivrednici, u strukturi migranata najviše je onih koji su se selili u okviru Oblasti, među licima registrovanim sa nekim od socijalnih obeležja najviše je siromaha i starih, a prema narodnosti Srbi su daleko najbrojniji, a u neznatnom broju su registrovani Albanci, Bugari, Grci i Hrvati. Rezultati procene pokazuju da je demografskasituacija u 1455. godini delila karakteristike većine populacija tog vremena. To potvrđuje visok nivo prirodnih komponenata, mlada starosna struktura i homogenost ekonomskih i socijalnih struktura stanovništva. Na drugoj strani, rezultati procene otkrivaju jasne poremećaje u demografskom razvitku Oblasti što ilustruju viškovi ženskog stanovništva i veći broj opustelih i patuljastih naselja pa se sa razlogom može pretpostaviti da se broj stanovnika smanjivao u kritičnimrazdobljima kroz koja je Oblast prolazila.

Raymond Federman was a French-American Jewish writer whose works embodied postmodern literary tendencies of the time. His tragic experience with the Holocaust greatly influenced his worldview, leading to the creation of a unique literary theory and style of writing. His works show a defiant stance against the imposed literary norms of the previous decades with central themes being those of absence, loss, historical manipulation and erasure, cancellation and ultimately, silence. His novel The Twofold Vibration, however, adds an additional element to his literary opera -- that of nostalgia. It being Federman, that nostalgia does not necessarily refer to actual times past, but to a hypothetical past, a what-could've-been. In this novel, Federman displaces this particular feeling of sorrow for something that was not allowed to happen. In this novel, Federman explores the concepts of silence, absence, historical erasure and nostalgia in the aftermath of historical atrocities. One could say that it was in this novel where Federman masterfully manages to make his readers feel nostalgic for a vision of the past. This paper aims to recognize the intricate and subtle application of different language devices Federman used to establish these themes and will also deal with specific instances of the appearance of these themes in the novel. Attempt to find a firm support for the very idea of Europe and for its identity leads us to a fluid and hard-to-determine term or definition that could clearly and precisely determine the identity basis of Europe. The layering that is obvious through historical review leads us to the seemingly paradoxical conclusion: it is precisely in this fluidity we could first come close to defining the identity of Europe. The identity of Europe can certainly be seen in its culture, which contained many elements of the spiritual in man (and which are not exhausted in either psychological or religious manifestations). This same culture which created everything that is instinctively understood as Europe in terms of history and identity today is marginalized without an existing alternative under the influence of politics, economics, and exhausted postmodernist enterprise which has anchored affect at the centre of its thought on power at the expense of idealized normative considerations. The article discusses the sources used by the national Lithuanian historian Simonas Daukantas (1793-1864) which determined the inclusion of Odin in the ranks of Lithuanian/Baltic cultural heroes in the work BUDĄ Senowęs-Lëtuwiû Kalnienû ĩr Ƶámajtiû (en. The Character of the Ancient Lithuanians-Highlanders and Lowlanders, 1845). The first source discussed is the article "De l'ère primitive des législations sacerdotales" ("On the legislative power of the priests of primeval times") published in the magazine "Le Catholique" in 1826, on which S. Daukantas mainly relied when discussing the figure of Odin. Upon investigation, this source does not consider Odin to be the hero of the Baltic people, either. It is speculated that S. Daukantas was impressed by the laconic biography of Odin and the note added at the end that the royal families of Saxony and Denmark, the Merovingian dynasty and the Lombard princes included Odin in their genealogy. S. Daukantas analogously states that Odin is also a Lithuanian hero because, even 'now', there are people with the surname Odinas living in Lithuania and Samogitia. Actually, S. Daukantas's mother was née Odinaitė. This article further discusses two other sources: Geschichte Preußens (1827, vol. 1) by Johannes Voigt (1786-1863), and Geschichte von Littauen, Kurland und Liefland (1785) by Ludwig Albrecht Gebhardi (1735-1802). It was determined that only J. Voigt briefly indicated that Odin founded Asgard near Daugava. S. Daukantas adopted this opinion in his work. On February 12, 1845, in a letter to Teodoras Narbutas (1784-1864), S. Daukantas reproached him for not including Odin in the ranks of Lithuanian cultural heroes and mentioned Le Catholique and Jntrodukcyi Maleta do historyi Dunskiej as important sources for the research pertaining to the possible Baltic origins of Odin. This inspires a hypothesis that S. Daukantas made a mistake in specifying the name of the Swiss-born historian Paul Henri Mallet because he did not write about Odin as a Lithuanian/Baltic hero in his work on Danish history. The article investigates which author's introduction to a book on Danish history led S. Daukantas to a belief that he found information about the Lithuanian/Baltic Odin. It must have been an authoritative historian because S. Daukantas did not change his opinion about Odin when he wrote Pasakojimas apej Wejkałus Lietuwiû tautos senowie (Stories about Events in Ancient Lithuania, 1850) and emphasized that Northern writers refer to Odin as having lived and worked in Lithuania. After getting acquainted with Peter Friedrich Suhm's introduction (Einleitung oder kritische Muthmaſsungen über die teste Abstammung und Geschichte der Nordischen Nation) to Geschichte der Dänen (1803), the study reaches the conclusion that it determined S. Daukantas's decision about Odin's Baltic origins. It is likely that an interdisciplinary study of the figure of Odin would finally allow us to confirm or reject this belief of S. Daukantas. The purpose of this paper is to look at the antecedents of the Indian women's movement and the achievements before and after independence. The status of women has been a central concern of many reform movements in India. Prior to India's independence, the organizations and groups that addressed social issues and sought change for women were closely associated with the independence movement. The women's movement during the 19th century in India emanated from the broader social reforms movement. Consequently, the 20th century freedom movement and women's rights movement in the post-1970s has brought to the fore a wide range of women's concerns. The subsequent events like the constitutional promise of gender equality, Towards Equality Report prepared by the Committee on the Status of Women in 1974 have surely promoted women's concern to some extent. All these achievements were the result of women's movement groups that worked for the promotion of women's rights and equality. In the above-stated context, this paper also analysis the issues of women's justice and equality taken up by women's groups in pre and post-independent India. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background/Aim. The epidemic of typhus lasted for several months in the Kingdom of Serbia during the First World War, and a vast number of people lost their lives. The objective of the paper was to investigate how the Politika, Belgrade daily newspaper, informed the then Serbian public about the epidemic of typhus in the Great War. Methods. By using statistical and historical-critical method, the analysis of all texts published in the Politika from February 1915, when the Serbian government and the Supreme Command allowed the press to write about the epidemic of typhus, until the outbreak began to calm down at the beginning of May 1915, was performed. Results. In the observed period, among the texts dedicated to the typhus epidemic, news about people who died of typhus (obituaries), news about the epidemic itself, as well as affirmative texts about the feats of doctors. There were more texts about allies' military missions than about Serbian Army Medical Corps. The reporting was balanced and highly professional. Conclusion. In the period February-May 1915, a number of different articles about the typhus epidemic in Serbia during the Great War were published in the daily newspaper Politika. Franciszek Ksawery Bohusz (1746–1820) was a philosopher, theologist, Jesuit, political activist, participant of the Kościuszko Uprising, member of the Warsaw Society of Friends of Science, honorary member of the Vilnius University, translator and publisher of the Napoleon Code, who was also the author of the thesis On the Origins of the Lithuanian Nation and Language (1808). The thesis was written in an effort to save from forgetting the traditions of the people whose language, as the author noted, gradually “diminished” and “faded” at the beginning of the nineteenth century, being crowded out by Polish which was used in various areas of everyday life. Bohusz’s work turned out to be a significant voice, a testament which raised interest of many Lithuanian culture researchers. It contributed to the longterm study of the history of the Lithuanian nation and language by numerous Vilnius University professors and students.

Predmet ovog istraživanja se odnosi na razvoj menadžmenta u sportu kroz istoriju Olimpijskog komiteta Srbije i Crnogorskog olimpijskog komiteta. Analiza rada Olimpijskog komiteta Srbije i Crnogorskog olimpijskog komiteta i predstavljanje njihove organizacione strukture, saradnja sa međunarodnim i nacionalnim sportskim organizacijama, načini podsticanja razvoja vrhunskog sporta koji se razlikuju po dužini svog delovanja, ali koji imaju i prožimanje zajedničkog delovanja kroz dve države na našim prostorima, svakako je predstavljalo istraživački izazov. Poseban izazov jeste zajednička politička prošlost, odnosno društveni obrasci koji su karakteristični za obe države, a koji su i dalje prisutni u svakodnevnom političkom životu što neposredno utiče na rad većine nacionalnih tela pa tako i olimpijskih komiteta, odnosno na njihovu organizaciju i funkcionisanje. Cilj ovog istraživanja je bio da se utvrdi značaj rada Olimpijskog komiteta Srbije i Crnogorskog olimpijskog komiteta sa aspekta menadžmenta. Ovim naučnim istraživanjem utvrđen je razvoj menadžmenta u sportu kroz istoriju na primeru Olimpijskog komiteta Srbije i Crnogorskog olimpijskog komiteta. Rezultati istraživanja ukazuju da je stepen razvoja menadžmenta u sportu Olimpijskog komiteta Srbije i Crnogorskog olimpijskog komiteta uslovljen dužinom njihovog članstva u Međunarodnom olimpijskom komitetu. Pored toga, utvrđeno je da je uticaj tehnoloških, ekonomskih i političkih izazova za menadžment Olimpijskog komiteta Srbije i Crnogorskog olimpijskog komiteta bio identičan; da je sprovođenje projekata Olimpijskog pokreta različitog obima u Olimpijskom komitetu Srbije i Crnogorskom olimpijskom komitetu i da je širenje Olimpijskih vrednosti podjednako prisutno u Olimpijskom komitetu Srbije i Crnogorskom olimpijskom komitetu. Značaj istraživanja se ogleda u stručnom i naučnom sagledavanju rada Olimpijskog komiteta Srbije i Crnogorskog olimpijskog komiteta. Ovo istraživanje daje doprinos budućim stručnjacima sportskih organizacija da uspešno primene njihove modele menadžmenta u sportu u okviru svojih sportskih organizacija.
