In this article, we try to see if there is a direct link between this health crisis and global warming and if there is something to take away and use at a different level. We are living in complicated times, a sanitary crisis which is followed by an economic one, the amplitude is remained to see, but clearly, both are very damaging. In both cases, being able to rely on the best available scientific knowledge is essential for decision-making. But these cases are quite different because in the case of climate change, apparently, the solution consists in embracing a new social, economic, and energy model. Unfortunately, this aspect is missing from the measures aimed to slow down the COVID-19 pandemic. If certain decisions taken to solve the pandemic seem initially to be directed through the direction of climate protection, others seem rather to going in the opposite direction, so there is no immediate equivalence from one problem to another, and we should not mislead ourselves about possible positive consequences of this health crisis in terms of climate. Nevertheless, perfect communication, coordinated and targeted, clear and honest, has to go hand in hand with the actions taken, to obtain the best and fast results. Despite this situation, we don’t have to forget that that humanity is in the middle of another crisis, global warming, which will affect even more, at all levels, not only humankind, and for a longer period.

Without any doubt, beyond humanitarian consequences, Russia's war in Ukraine will have economic implications, some of which we can already see, others will be more obvious soon. The most important effect is on energy and food prices. Energy security remains the "Achilles' heel" of the European economy, given its heavy dependence on Russian energy imports. In this article, we will analyse, among other implications, what is probable to happen in the commodity trading markets and who are the winners and losers from this difficult situation. We will also have a look at capital flows, what are the perspectives of emerging markets from the area. Another aspect taken into consideration is consumer and business confidence, because, despite significant savings accumulated during the pandemic, there will be an important change from the consumer side, which will nevertheless affect the GDP growth. Given the fact that this is an ongoing event, some of the conclusions may be different at the time of presentation.

Research background: After the recent restart of global economy, at least in Asia, Europe and U.S., one of the main suffering industries is aviation. As a principal consequence of quarantine and closing borders, most of the people cancelled their flights pushing the airlines companies to the edge of abyss therefore it looks interesting to understand how far they could go and what the operating limit are. If at the moment we have heard news about bankruptcy only about few companies (LGW –a regional German airline and Latam Airlines - South America’s biggest carrier) is because, generally, they still have cash reserves and important demands for help was sent to the governments but the situation is quite dramatic. Purpose of the article: In this article we will analyse why the aviation sector is facing one of the most complicated times after the 9/11 WTO, what are the main constraints for the industry future and what real measures can be taken in order to recover the situation. Methods: By means of descriptive and comparative analysis the paper reveals the financial and technical difficulties to implement certain health safety rules imposed by regulators. Findings & Value added: This new type of pressure caused by Covid-19 pandemic outlines once again the stress in which the aviation sector is found out. Despite the fact that there is a permanent preoccupation to improve technology and performance, governments and health international organisation should take into consideration all the business aspects before launching impossible requests.

Among other negative economic and health outcomes, the global tourism industry is one of the most affected areas by the recent pandemic. A recent estimation shows that USD 1.3 trillion were lost in revenues, in 2020 only – which represents more than 11 times the loss suffered during the 2009 global economic crisis. It is by far the most the worst year in tourism history. As a direct consequence, many jobs are at risk, especially in small and medium-sized enterprises, in countries where tourism is the main economic component, the situation is quite dramatic. In this paper, we will analyse what happened in world large regions in the sector, what the perspectives to recovery are, and what are the rebound expectations and consumer confidence. We will also investigate the specificity of the tourism situation in Switzerland, where since the beginnings of the pandemic, the big cities and tourist locations have suffered greatly from the absence of foreign tourists. The cities close to the airports showed the strongest decreases in attendance. In contrast, those which are traditionally very touristy were only slightly affected by the decline in the number of foreign visitors.

Some multinational companies have obtained great results in the field of environmental protection, their business model being worldwide recognised. There is a permanent concern to promote sustainable policies, their efforts being unanimously appreciated. We will start our analysis from the results of an international survey, assuming that in order to develop a strategy to increase the efficiency of communication in the field of environmental protection we should establish what the ingredients of a successful recipe are, in terms of sustainability. In this paper we will also analyse the views of experts on companies that are considered being able to integrate sustainable development into their business strategy, as well as on NGOs that contribute most to positive advancement of the sustainability agenda. We will see that some companies or organizations are perceived as being leaders of these rankings, years in row, but there are also newcomers, a sign that there is a constant focus on this goal.

Research background: Since the extension of the Corona virus there are people saying that all this is happening because of globalisation, phenomena that diminished the control of states at the borders, lack of strong internal security rules, loose of political responsibility and decisions, etc. In this paper we investigated the situation from different economical perspectives and we clearly show the existence of positive effects of globalization. We will never know certainly enough at which percentage the current crisis results from a mismatch between the intensity of economic and human exchanges and the inability of public authorities to be prepared and take fast and appropriate decisions. It is well accepted that in a globalized world, interdependence prevails over sovereignty. Purpose of the article: We will analyse if this reality is really one of the main problems which cause the current disaster. Nevertheless, it would be too easy to blame only the lacks of effective globalization, much complicated is to identify the problem and solve it. Searching if the globalization is the cause or the solution may be interesting since from the political side, we will see a wave of critics and sceptics, many politicians will try to reposition in order to gain visibility and votes. Methods: Using descriptive and comparative analysis we demonstrate that societies may obtain greater benefits from cooperation, collaboration and integration, even in pandemic times. Findings & Value added: In a global world, we can see that borders do not protect against a pandemic and that all the major challenges facing humanity can only be solved by multilateral systems and by multilateral negotiation. We clearly demonstrated that global society has greater benefits from cooperation, collaboration and integration.
