The article is aimed at analysing the theoretical foundations for engaging financial resources in designing and developing contemporary military affairs. According to American experts, this fundamental action focuses on three areas namely technology, organisation and doctrine, being supported by a country/organisation economic and financial power as well as its research and development sector. The above-mentioned domains interact, as military organisations have to adapt to be able to handle the changes in technology and geopolitical environment. In this context, the military activity, which is characterised by dynamism, complexity and interdependence, increasingly relies on strategic management. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Financial resource management, as part of the military affairs resource management, represents a constant challenge to political and military leaders. The support for military affairs shows a state ability to provide both national and regional security. To ensure the financial resources that are necessary to continually train the personnel in defence area as well as to provide the military with high-performance equipment represents a goal for all states, be they members of an alliance or not. Therefore, the financial strategy to support military affairs should consider the state important options, given the security environment, the regional situation and the alliance the particular state is part of. The creation and management of logistics stocks entail the logistics system management in order to plan and provide the necessary resources "at the right place and time" so that the logistics requirements can be met and the military action can be successful. In the future, logistics management will be focused on the operational force actional effort. Logistic support develops constantly, and the armed forces should permanently have a well-developed logistics system. The efficient management of logistics flow, regardless of external or internal sources, determines the success of armed forces in military actions. Moreover, the information flow should be managed within a logistics information system able to support a timely and accurate decision-making process relating to logistics operations. The mortality of patients with morbid obesity is 2 to 12 times higher according to age, comorbidities and the degree of obesity. Surgical treatment has proved to be the only type of treatment that has led to favorable long-term results. We present the therapeutic strategy used in a 39 year old obese patient with BMI=39.8 kg/sqm type 2 diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension, severe hypercholesterolemia, nonalcoholic steatohepatitis and metabolic syndrome. The patient underwent laparoscopic gastric banding with adjustable silicon band.
