This paper describes a curricular project in which a network of media educators, in making a case for the educational and social values of an interactive documentary, integrated it in a media degree program to encourage activism in students and promote civic engagement. The project provides valid and important results in an immediate sense, while also establishing the foundation for strengthening the media curriculum at educational institutions. For educators, this has positive implications, as along with the traditional content we teach, we also strive to increase the awareness of civic issues among our students to make them better citizens.

The article discusses the state of research on children and media in India, highlighting the lack of institutional support and limited theoretical frameworks. It reflects on the historical context of media research in India, emphasizing the need for a more diverse and inclusive approach to studying children's media engagement. The article calls for collaborative efforts among researchers from the Global South and Global North to broaden the scope of Children and Media scholarship, advocating for a more culturally sensitive and context-specific research agenda. This provocation gives an overview of the BBC in India in terms of television news. It discusses the BBC's sensibilities in relation to the interests and perceptions of Indian audiences through two methods: one, a review of available secondary literature; and two, brief conversations with media professionals who have previously or currently work with the BBC in India. It briefly comments on the conflicting journey of the BBC in India but argues that despite the colonial legacy and the initial narrative of privileging the imperial voice, the BBC is largely viewed as a fair and impartial news source by Indian audiences. Physical labour is not respected in India. Farm labourers are one of the most exploited labourers in India, and the world. Every year more than one million unorganised contract labourers, most of them from lower castes, migrate to the sugar belt in Western Maharashtra for around six months where sugar factories are concentrated. With around 200 sugar factories, Maharashtra ranks number one in sugar production in India. The labourers work for twelve or more hours a day and get poor returns. On the other hand, the working and living conditions violate basic human rights (Deshingkar, Start, 2003). Cane cutting is the most laborious farm work where the labourers have to bend for hours, pick up very heavy cane bundles and mount them at risky heights even during the night time. While injuries are very common among these labourers, occasionally, deaths too take place. The most recent reports reveal that the contractors force women labourers to remove their wombs so that they do not menstruate while working and therefore miss work. The number of such women estimates to around 30%. "Networks working on health and women's issues say unwarranted hysterectomies among poor women in Beed and other places are the result of workrelated pressures imposed on women, plus a grossly unregulated private medical sector and exploitative contractors and sugar factory owners who hire migrant workers" (Chatterjee, 2019). Along with such health hazards, activists claim that women labourers are exploited by the male contractors at the worksite where physical abuse and rapes happen quite often though they are not formally reported. Young children of the labourers also travel with them at the destination leaving their schools and education behind to help their parents in their work to get trapped into the vicious cycle of bonded labour like their parents (making it a generation after generation trap). Marginalised, alienated and vulnerable in the migrated socio-cultural environment, the sugarcane harvesting backward class labourers face livelihood insecurities. Pregnant women and children have to work. Exploitation is both obvious and subtle. Still this seasonal life is a better opportunity for them. The hardly shared realities, including, women's critical health issues, sexual exploitation, rapes among other sensitive issues of their lives are beyond imagination. This paper studies the observations made while making a documentary film (which is an ethnographic exploration) on migrant labourers' challenges. This study aims to investigate the consumer perception regarding the Patanjali brand through a survey in the city of Pune. The responses to a closed-ended questionnaire suggested that competitive pricing, quality of products and good communication strategies were the most important reasons for the popularity of Patanjali products. Further analysis brought out the following factors as being the most important in influencing the decision to purchase Patanjali products among its custome: communication strategy, product quality, competitive pricing, brand image of Baba Ramdev and consumer awareness. What are the reasons behind the ban of a film in India? What qualifies as conflictual thematically? Is there an apprehension of an alternative discourse? These are some of the key questions that this research paper attempts to answer. The authors of this research paper studied the narratives of 11 films that faced some kind of censorship. The paper uses the narrative analysis technique to demonstrate that the aim of censorship in most of the cases was either the suppressing the alternative ideological discourse or re-appropriating it. This research paper aims to analyze 11 films between 1970 and 2014 which faced censorship and were even banned.
