Differential equations (DEs) performed a vital role in the implementation of almost all the mechanical, physical, or biological processes. Higher order DEs had always been challenging to solve for the researchers so numerous numerical techniques were developed to attain the vital numerical approximations of such types of problems. In this work, highly advanced numerical techniques are established for the approximation of the fourteenth (14th)-order boundary value problems using Adomian decomposition method. The mathematical outcomes of the equations are attained in the form of convergent series that have effortlessly assessable components having step size h = 10. Some numerical examples are also deliberated to demonstrate the capability and application of the established procedure.

Sparsity is a serious problem of collaborative recommendation approach that has a considerable effect on recommendation quality. Contextual information is introduced in traditional recommendation systems besides users and items information to reduce this problem effect. Several research works proved that incorporating contextual information may increases sparse data. For this, data mining techniques are one of the most effective solutions that have been used in context-aware recommendation systems to handle sparsity problem. This paper proposes the combination of context-similarity collaborative filtering recommendation approach with data mining techniques, as solution to this problem, and develops a novel recommendation system: Rule-based Context-aware recommender system (R_CARS).The proposed approach uses a new similarity technique that aims to reduce sparse data by filtering the initial dataset that is to use only the most useful information. R_CARS is experimented on two different datasets: DePaulMovie and InCarMusic. The results of the experiment show that this combination can overcome the sparsity problem and significantly improve the performance of recommendation. [JJCIT 2022; 8(2.000): 205-217]

Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) represents a significant global burden. Hypertension is a modifiable risk factor for rapid progression of CKD., Methods: We extend the risk stratification by introducing the non-parametric determination of rhythmic components in 24-hour profiles of ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) in the African American Study for Kidney Disease and Hypertension (AASK) cohort and the Chronic Renal Insufficiency Cohort (CRIC) using Cox proportional hazards models., Results: We find that rhythmic profiling of BP through JTK_Cycle analysis identifies subgroups of CRIC participants at advanced risk of cardiovascular death. CRIC participants with a history of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and absent cyclic components in their BP profile had at any time a 3.4-times higher risk of cardiovascular death than CVD patients with cyclic components present in their BP profile (HR: 3.38, 95% CI: 1.45-7.88, p =0.005). This substantially increased risk was independent of whether ABPM followed a dipping or non-dipping pattern whereby non-dipping or reverse dipping were not significantly associated with cardiovascular death in patients with prior CVD ( p >0.1). In the AASK cohort, unadjusted models demonstrate a higher risk in reaching end stage renal disease among participants without rhythmic ABPM components (HR:1.80, 95% CI: 1.10-2.96); however, full adjustment abolished this association., Conclusions: This study proposes rhythmic blood pressure components as a novel biomarker to unmask excess risk among CKD patients with prior cardiovascular disease.

Telemedicine is the use of information and communication technology to deliver healthcare at a distance. It has been resorted to during the COVID-19 pandemic to lessen the need for in-person patient care decreasing the risk of transmission, and it can be of benefit afterward in the management of cardiac disease. The elderly population has unique challenges concerning the use of telehealth technologies. We thus review the advances in telemedicine technologies in treating elderly cardiac patients including in our discussion only studies with a mean age of participants above 60. Remote monitoring of blood pressure, weight, and symptoms, along with home ECG recording has been found to be superior to usual in-clinic follow up. Combining remote monitoring with video conferencing with physicians, patient education websites, and applications is also of benefit. Remote monitoring of Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators (ICD) and Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy Defibrillators (CRT-D) is also beneficial but can be at the cost of an increase in both appropriate and inappropriate interventions. Implantable sensing devices compatible with remote monitoring have been developed and have been shown to improve care and cost-effectiveness. New smartphone software can detect arrhythmias using home ECG recordings and can detect atrial fibrillation using smartphone cameras. Remote monitoring of implanted pacemakers has shown non-inferiority to in clinic follow up. On the other hand, small-scale questionnaire-based studies demonstrated the willingness of the elderly cardiac patients to use such technologies, and their satisfaction with their use and ease of use. Large-scale studies should further investigate useability in samples more representative of the general elderly population with more diverse socioeconomic and educational backgrounds. Accordingly, it seems that studying integrating multiple technologies into telehealth programs is of great value.
