The subject of this bachelor's thesis is the issue of a drug abuse in Czechoslovakia between 1960 and 1989. The thesis also includes a part focused on a period before 1960 emphasizing events that fundamentally affected the main explored period. The time limit was chosen with regard to the similarity and continuity of the development in a drug abuse in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Particular specifics of each period are analysed in detail in the chapters. The thesis contains the chapters with interdisciplinary overlap that are essential for understanding of the whole subject. Chapter no. 2 contains a list of the most important laws and international conventions according that crimes related to a drug abuse, possession or dealing were judged. Chapter no. 3 mainly presents addictology, medicine and chemistry perspective and adds valuable information on effects of drugs mostly used in Czechoslovakia. The other chapters examine a development of a drug addiction and trends during particular decades. The aim of this thesis is solving minimization problems where the objective function is a sum of a differentiable (yet possibly non-convex) and general convex function. We focus on methods of stochastic and projected gradient descent from machine learning. By combining those two approaches we introduce an algorithm for solving such problems. The work is composed in a gradual manner where we firstly define necessary concepts needed for describing RSPG algorithm. Then we proceed to show the convergence of the algorithm for both convex and non-convex objective functions. A short numerical study is also included at the end. 1

This bachelor thesis deals not only with a comprehensive overview of sweet wines from the Czech Republic but also foreign countries which are famous for their sweet wines. First is described the basic division of wines according to quality and sugar content. It also focuses on the historical wine development, description of individual areas, production technologies and the main varieties from which these wines are made are also mentioned. Finally, a set of selected wines is sensory evaluated in the experimental part.

The present publication refers to a specific topic of the status and situation of migrant women and women with a migration background in upper-middle and senior age in the Czech Republic. It is a theme in the Czech environment yet unresolved, which, however, has been gradually gaining in size and, therefore, in relevance. The first part of the publication describes results of an extensive Analysis of the Position and Situation of these women in Czech Republic. The second part of the publication deals with a specific group of senior migrant women in the Czech Republic. The presented qualitative research covers a group of women aged 50+ with a refugee background coming from former Yugoslavia who have lived in the Czech Republic for more than twenty years.

The publication we have prepared for you concerns a relatively narrow issue: the position of foreign workers in the labour market in the Czech Republic and in several other selected countries of the European Union. Our original intention was to address mainly the question of job safety for these persons, as well as work accidents and occupational diseases.

In the period between the years 2006 and 2008, a significant increase in the migration of Mongolians to the Czech Republic could be seen. The Mongolians came to the Czech Republic mainly through formal and informal intermediary agencies and most of them worked as unskilled labor. With a few exceptions, they originally arrived to the CR with work and residence permits, yet a large part of them lost their permits during their first two years of stay. Even those who managed to live and work in the CR legally faced frequent violations of their rights. The research on Mongolian migration presented in this doctoral thesis was carried out as a case study. By looking at this specific problem area, fundamental problems posed for Mongolian migrants by the set-up of the Czech migration and integration policies could be analyzed. This work does not address these policies only and the ways they are set up, but also the manner of implementation and the specific impact of these policies on the life of the monitored migrants. It shows that major problems in the way migration policy is set up and regulated are encountered already by the visa applicants still in Mongolia. During the two past decades, the number of immigrants in the Czech Republic has grown significantly. The Czech Republic thus has to adapt various institutional arrangements to preserve social cohesion. This paper aims to highlight some of important changes that need to be accommodated when attempting to develop integral and efficient immigration policy in the Czech Republic. Following this, the paper explores the theory and practice of immigration polices in the Czech Republic and in European Union which highly influences the Czech immigration policy. The Commonwealth of Australia, a country with a long immigration history and well developed immigration policy is examined for comparison and, in some aspects, also for inspiration. This paper focuses on the three particular aspects which are: the strategy of integration, the role of culture and language, and the position of local governments in the process of integration. Firstly, the paper deals with the most common types of integration: segregation, assimilation and multiculturalism. It is then argued that an important part of immigration policy is rooted in the way how people define "multiculturalism", how they conceive of the various meanings of this verb, and what they expect from the co-existence of more cultures. The master thesis deals with a comparison of domestic violence in the Czech Republic and the Kingdom of Norway. Domestic violence is a serious problem, occurring in all societies regardless of time or culture. The thesis describes the funding system, the legislative framework of the issue, the main actors in the issue of domestic violence against women, the current situation with regard to the issue of domestic violence and the system of support both in the Czech Republic and in the Kingdom of Norway. The main objective is to describe and explain the approaches to dealing with domestic violence against women. The thesis is based on the theory of welfare state regimes, which is based on Esping-Andersen's 1990 typology of the welfare state, focusing on the concept of "women friendly" originally from 1987, as well as on the theoretical "public health approach", which focuses a lot on prevention, and is complemented by expert interviews with experts on the issues in the Czech Republic and the Kingdom of Norway. This Bachelor thesis pursues the topic of Finlands' basic income experiment 2017 - 2018, and its validity for the Czech Republic. The main focus of this thesis is on describing the experiment and contextualizing it within a welfare state / Finland's social security system. It also gives examples of other similar experiments. In the theoretical part, the author explains the theory of the welfare state and libertarianism, which provided the basis for the concept of minimum guaranteed income. In the analytical section, the author presents the results of Finland's experiment, the feasibility of the implementation in the Czech Republic, and a comparison of Finnish and Czech social security systems. The expert interviews proved to be a crucial input for understanding the issue in its complexity.

This bachelor thesis focuses on the media image of migrant women on the Czech news websites Aktuálně.cz and iRozhlas.cz. The current situation in Ukraine proves the relevance of the topic of the thesis, which aims to find out what image of migrant women is created by these media, which present themselves as free and independent. At the same time, these news websites are public policy actors that influence the development of migration policy in the Czech Republic. As the thesis deals with the specific characteristics, contexts and connotations in which migrant women are mentioned in relation to migrant women, the method used is a qualitative content analysis of online media articles in the time period from the beginning of 2019 to the end of 2021. The content is coded and assigned to the relevant categories, which subsequently creates a closer picture of migrant women. For example, the work finds that media coverage of refugee women in foreign settings is most frequent. Furthermore, migrant women are portrayed predominantly as victims and heroines of refugee processes. Texts are devoted to personal stories and connotations of sympathy and admiration. The effects of climate change and global warming and the conversations surrounding it are becoming increasingly difficult to ignore. The future predictions of the impact of climate change on the planet present daunting challenges for people around the globe, especially for the Mediterranean littoral, which has been labeled as a climate "hot spot". The paper focuses on the effects of climate change on migration patterns in the Mediterranean region to understand what a warmer future in the Mediterranean may look like to develop policies and strategies that may mitigate some of the more negative outcomes. The paper's main objective is to answer the following question; what are the links between migration patterns and climate change in the Mediterranean region? To the question, it is important to first define and place the theoretical framework firmly in the context that the paper is covering, such as the political, economic, social, environmental and demographic factors. Once these factors are defined, they are applied to real-world case studies in the form of North Africa and Syria through Black, Adger, et al.'s framework of drivers of migration through qualitative and quantitative data that comes from secondary resources. The aim of the thesis is to understand how pupils with Vietnamese mother tongue perceive the period of compulsory schooling. The first three chapters of the thesis are devoted to a theoretical anchor that explains why inclusion in education is a relevant public policy issue. The chapters describe how the topic has been addressed in the past and how it is being addressed in the present. The follow-up third chapter includes theories from different areas of public policy that have contributed to a better understanding of the research aim of the thesis. Chapters four and five then discuss the contribution of similar public policy research that has been conducted in the Czech Republic and abroad. The methodology and individual research steps of the thesis are discussed in chapter six, where I defend the chosen design and individual research methods. The core of the thesis is chapter seven, which discusses the perspective of six students with different mother tongues. Here I reflect on how I have understood the respondents. Before concluding the thesis, I discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the research.

Integration of Immigrants in Europe: An example of African Immigrants in the Czech Republic This study aimed to contribute to the understanding of the integration of African immigrants in Europe by the case study example of the Czech Republic. The following procedure was chosen to achieve this goal; firstly to briefly introduce African migration in the Czech Republic in the context of migration to Europe and integration of foreigners in the Czech Republic, secondly to analyze the integration of African immigrants into the Czech Republic, and thirdly to evaluate the contribution of Czech institutions to the smooth integration. The research for the case study was carried out on a sample of 50 African immigrants in the Czech Republic selected by the purpose and the snowball sampling methods. The sampling methods determined that the study covered migrants predominantly from Central and West Africa, who do not form the largest but important African group living in the Czech Republic. It also focused mainly on the population living in the Czech Republic for a long time, usually over ten years, partly with the citizenship of the Czech Republic. The thesis focuses on what are the structural limits of the system of support for employment of persons with disabilities. To answer the research question, great attention is first devoted to getting acquainted with individual actors in this issue. This substantial part of the thesis is followed by a presentation of the theoretical anchor of the thesis, which is New public management and game theory. Subsequently, the thesis presents a wide range of data on which it is based. A significant part of these data are purposefully collected primary data, the analysis of which provides a unique insight into the labour market for persons with disabilities. The benefit of the thesis also lies in the combination of a large number of other data sources, which are collected in the Czech Republic, but whose summary interpretation has so far been lacking. Individual analytical parts of the thesis then answer the research sub-questions. In the final discussion, the results reflect the theoretical bases used. The Navajo Nation ranks amongst the poorest Reservations. Fundamentally, the Navajo Nation, faces many hurdles stemming from the conundrum of semi-autonomy; and consequently, Federally imposed rules and regulations. Unavoidably, these account for many of the issues that Navajo members and the Navajo government face today. Despite this circumstance, there are things the Navajo government can do in order to improve the socio- economic situation on the Navajo Nation today. This paper utilizes Hirschman's Exit, Voice, Loyalty theory in order to understand the relationship between the government and the people. The data and survey results indicated a significant trend of working class, Navajo members, choosing to leave the Reservation (exit). From the data and surveys it appears that those who are leaving, are doing so primarily in search of employment. In order for the socio-economic situation on the Navajo Nation to improve, the government must first set up a system in which it receives member feedback, then it must find a way to increase sentiments of loyalty as to motivate people to stay, and, third, based on the data, the government needs to improve the job market rapidly. Research on inequities, especially in health care access among immigrants in Germany, has always reflected some of the disparities between the resident population and the immigrants. However, little attention is always placed on the potential inequalities regarding health care within the immigrants (Arab immigrants). Across Europe, Germany is known to receive the highest immigrant numbers, especially from the Arabic world. Since 2013, Germany has received at least 400,000 to 1500,000 immigrants from the Arab world. For this reason, this study analyses challenges faced by the Arab immigrants in access to healthcare in Germany and the underutilization of the medical care services by the Arab immigrant community. The methodological angle undertaken in this study considers relevant literatures to the topic in analysis the state of the matter in Germany by comparing findings from the considered literatures from previous research on the same topic as the study herein. This work focuses on concepts of family policy on a regional level. Regions are the connecting link between the county level and the state level and have numerous instruments to support families or other social groups within their territory. While on the county level family policy doesn't get much attention, mostly due to lower personal, administrative or financial capacity, regions prepare detailed and wide concepts of family and social policy, in which they outline goals and aspirations, as well as instruments and ways in which to achieve them during a predetermined period. These instruments aim at different target populations. This work will be primarily focusing on the research of these target populations, which will then be analysed through the theory of social constructions of target populations, which was initially developed in 1993 by professors Anne Schneider and Helen Ingram. This theory dwells deeper when it comes to definitions of target populations and divides populations according to their definition, which can be positive or negative, and by their political power, which can be strong or weak.
