Bone and soft tissue tumors are diverse, accompanying by complex histological components and significantly divergent biological behaviors. It is a challenge to address the demand for qualitative imaging as traditional imaging is restricted to the detection of anatomical structures and aberrant signals. With the improvement of digitalization in hospitals and medical centers, the introduction of electronic medical records and easier access to large amounts of information coupled with the improved computational power, traditional medicine has evolved into the combination of human brain, minimal data, and artificial intelligence. Scholars are committed to mining deeper levels of imaging data, and radiomics is worthy of promotion. Radiomics extracts subvisual quantitative features, analyzes them based on medical images, and quantifies tumor heterogeneity by outlining the region of interest and modeling. Two observers separately examined PubMed, Web of Science and CNKI to find existing studies, case reports, and clinical guidelines about research status and progress of radiomics in bone and soft tissue tumors from January 2010 to February 2023. When evaluating the literature, factors such as patient age, medical history, and severity of the condition will be considered. This narrative review summarizes the application and progress of radiomics in bone and soft tissue tumors.

Background: Bacterial wilt disease caused by the soilborne bacterium Ralstonia solanacearumis a serious threat to flue-cured tobacco production. In this study, an indigenous disease suppressive Bacillusstrain was isolated from the rhizosphere soil of healthy tobacco plants, and its biocontrol and plant growth promoting (PGP) potential were evaluated in in-vivoand in-vitroassays. Results: Through isolation and screening of 250 isolates, WS-10 was found to be the best candidate antagonistic strain against R. solanacearum(WS-001). In-vitroassays revealed that the isolated strain WS-10 (Bacillus amyloliquefaciens) showed an effective antagonistic activity against R. solanacearumWS-001 and several plant-pathogenic fungi. As promising PGP rhizobacteria, WS-10 had the ability of nitrogen fixation, solubilization of inorganic potassium and phosphate, and biosynthesis of indole-3-acetic. In a co-culture assay, it significantly inhibits the growth of WS-001. Our greenhouse experiments showed that the soil physicochemical properties and accumulation of dry matter contents in different plant parts (roots, stems, and leaves) were significantly increased in the presence of B. amyloliquefaciensWS-10. The soil treated with B. amyloliquefaciensWS-10 displayed significantly higher values of the average well color development index, the utilization ability of 6 types of carbon sources by rhizosphere microorganisms, and the diversity indices of the rhizosphere microbial communities. In plantaassay, B. amyloliquefaciensWS-10 significantly reduced tobacco bacterial wilt disease incidence by up to 73.36, 43.82, and 86.82% under three different treatments by improving the functional diversity and biological activity of the soil microbial community. Conclusions: Obtained findings suggested that B. amyloliquefaciensWS-10 had an excellent potential as a growth-promoting and biocontrol agent of tobacco bacterial wilt disease due to its multiple beneficial traits of nutrient solubilization and disease suppression. Thus, we conclude that B. amyloliquefaciensWS-10 was a high potential PGP and biocontrol strain for healthy production of tobacco crop.

Bacterial leaf streak (BLS) caused by Xanthomonas oryzaepv. oryzicola(Xoc), impacts the production of rice. However, several rice cultivars displayed resistance to Xocin the field, but scarce information is available about the role of endophytic microbiota in disease resistance. In the present study, the endophytic bacterial communities of resistant and susceptible rice cultivars “CG2” and “IR24”, respectively, were analyzed using high throughput 16S rRNAgene amplified sequencing and culture dependent method was further used for bacterial isolation. A total of 452,716 high-quality sequences representing 132 distinct OTUs (Proteobacteria, Actinobacteria, Bacteroidetes, and Firmicutes) and 46 isolates of 16 genera were explored from rice leaves infected with Xoc. Community diversity of endophytic bacteria were higher in the leaves of the resistant cultivars compared to susceptible cultivars upon Xocinfection. Strikingly, this diversity might contribute to natural defense of the resistant cultivar against pathogen. Pantoea, which is pathogen antagonist, was frequently detected in two cultivars and higher abundance were recorded in resistant cultivars. Different abundance genus includes endophytic isolates with marked antagonistic activity to Xoc. The increased proportions of antagonistic bacteria, may contribute to resistance of rice cultivar against Xocand the Pantoeagenus was recruited by Xocinfection play a key role in suppressing the development of BLS disease in rice. Taken together, this work reveals the association between endophytic bacteria and BLS resistance in rice and identification of antagonism-Xocbacterial communities in rice.
