This study describes the function, optimization, and demonstration of a new class of passive, low-cost microfluidic flow meters based on birefringent chitosan biomembranes analyzed by polarized microscopy. We subjected the membrane to dynamic flow conditions while monitoring the real-time response of its optical properties. We obtained figures of merit, including the linear response operating range (0 to 65 μL min−1), minimum response time (250 ms), sensitivity (2.03% × 10−3 μL−1 min), and minimum sensor longevity (1 week). In addition, possible sources of interference were identified. Finally, we demonstrate the membrane as a low-cost flow rate measurement device for the close loop control of a commercial pressure-driven pump. Preliminary experiments using a basic PID controller with the membrane-based flow rate measurement device showed that stable control could be achieved and the system could reach steady-state behavior in less than 15 seconds. Objective: The objective of this scoping review was to investigate the effectiveness and limitations of risk prediction models for postpartum glucose intolerance in women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). The aim was to provide valuable insights for healthcare professionals in the development of robust risk prediction models. Methods: A comprehensive literature search was conducted across multiple databases, including PubMed, EBSCO, Web of Science Core Collection, Ovid Full-Text Medical Journal Database, ProQuest, Elsevier ClinicalKey, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, China Biology Medicine, and WanFang Database, spanning from January 1990 to July 2023. To assess the quality of the included models, the Predictive Model Risk of Bias Assessment Tool (PROBAST) was employed. Results: Fourteen relevant studies were identified and included in the final review, all focusing on model development. The discrimination ability of the included models ranged from 0.725 to 0.940, indicating satisfactory prediction accuracy. However, a notable limitation was that nine of these models (64.3%) did not provide clear guidelines on the selection of potential predictors. Furthermore, only six models (42.86%) underwent internal validation, with none undergoing external validation. A high risk of bias was observed across the included models. Logistic regression, Cox regression, and machine learning were the primary methods employed in the construction of these models. Conclusion: The risk prediction models included in this review demonstrated favorable prediction accuracy. However, due to variations in construction methodologies, direct comparison of their performance is challenging. These models exhibited certain shortcomings, such as inadequate handling of missing data and a lack of internal and external validation, resulting in a high risk of bias. Therefore, it is recommended that these models be updated and externally validated. The development of prospective, multi-center studies is encouraged to construct predictive models with low risk of bias and high clinical applicability, ultimately guiding evidence-based clinical practice. With the rising of the concept of balanced diet, more and more people pay attention to the healthy meal plans. However, a meal plan is usually difficult to meet people's taste preferences and health standards at the same time. Aiming at the problem, we propose a novel method to generate health meal plan for different users with meeting their taste. Specifically, we firstly calculate the recommendation score for each dish based on the ranking order of the recipe in the recommendation list, and the recommendation score is used to represent the user's preference. The fat, carbohydrate, sodium and other nutrients in the recipe were then calculated based on the recipe's ingredient content. The problem of meal plan generation is regarded as an optimization problem with constraints, that is, to maximize the recommended score of the meal plan under the condition that all nutrients in the meal plan meet the health standards. In this way, we approximately solve the problem of the balance between user's taste and the recipe's health by introducing a genetic algorithm. The experimental results show that the average recommended score of the meal plan generated by our method is 22.7, which indicates that the generated meal plan satisfy users' preference, and a survey involved 81 volunteers also supported this conclusion. It is crucial to develop high-performance catalysts for the degradation of antibiotic pollutants. In this paper, we reported an inverse opal Mn-doped WO3 (IO Mn–WO3) catalyst to effectively activate peroxymonosulfate (PMS) for the degradation of levofloxacin (LVX) under visible light irradiation. The degradation efficiency of this novel photo-Fenton-like system could reach almost 100% for LVX. The catalyst showed good recyclability and stability within five cycles. In addition, the possible degradation pathways, the main reactive oxygen species and the degradation mechanism were systematically investigated in this work. ˙O2− and 1O2 were identified as the main reactive oxygen species in the degradation system. Mn doping can initiate PMS activation and improve charge transfer efficiency, WO3 can promote the reduction of Mn species to make the reaction in the system occur continuously, an inverse opal structure can further enhance light absorption and increase the contact area between the catalyst and the pollutant. This work integrated the Fenton-like catalytic effect and the photocatalytic effect into the designed catalyst for PMS activation and antibiotic degradation, which developed a feasible strategy to improve the degradation performance of Mn-based materials for environmental remediation. The complex hydrolysis process and strong uncertainty of self-assembly rules have led to the precise synthesis of lanthanide clusters still being in the "blind-box" stage and simplifying the self-assembly process and developing reliable regulation strategies have attracted widespread attention. Herein, different anions are used to induce the construction of a series of dysprosium clusters with different shapes and connections. When the selected anion is NO3−, it blocks the coordination of metal sites around the cluster through the terminal group coordination mode, thereby controlling the growth of the cluster. When NO3− was changed to OAc−, OAc− adopted a bridging mode to induce modular units to build dysprosium clusters through an annular growth mechanism. Specifically, we selected 2-amino-6-methoxybenzoic acid, 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde, and Dy(NO3)3·6H2O to react under solvothermal conditions to obtain a pentanuclear dysprosium cluster (1). The five Dy(III) ions in 1 are distributed in upper and lower planes and are formed by the tight connection of nitrogen and oxygen atoms, and μ3-OH− bridges on the ligand. Next, octa-nuclear dysprosium cluster (2) were obtained by only regulating ligand substituents. The eight Dy(III) ions in 2 are tightly connected through ligand oxygen atoms, μ2-OH−, and μ3-OH− bridges, forming an elliptical {Dy/O} cluster core. Furthermore, only by changing NO3− to OAc−, a wheel-shaped tetradeca-nuclear dysprosium cluster (3) was obtained. Cluster 3 is composed of OAc− bridged multiple template Dy3L3 units and pulling of these template units connected by an annular growth mechanism forms a wheel-shaped cluster. The angle of the coordination site on NO3− is ∠ONO = 115°, which leads to the further extension of the metal sites on the periphery of clusters 1 and 2 through the terminal group coordination mode, thereby regulating the structural connection of the clusters. However, the angle of the coordination site on OAc− is ∠OCO = 128°, and a slightly increased angle leads to the formation of a ring-shaped cluster 3 by connecting the template units through bridging. This is a rare example of the controllable construction of lanthanide clusters with different shapes induced by the regulation of different anions, which provides a new method for the precise construction of lanthanide clusters with special shapes. MXene, which is known for its high electrical/thermal conductivity, surface hydrophilicity, excellent mechanical flexibility, and chemical stability, is a versatile and smart material for soft actuators. However, most MXene actuators are fabricated by combining MXene with other inert materials to form a bilayer or multilayer structure. Considering the strain mismatch at multimaterial interfaces under frequent deformation, MXene‐based actuators are generally associated with poor stability, which limits their practical applications. Herein, inspired by the natural quantum‐confined superfluidic (QSF) effect, a multiresponsive MXene actuator that can be driven by moisture, light, and electricity by engineering an asymmetric QSF structure on both sides of the MXene film is reported. The actuation mechanism of the MXene film can be attributed to nonuniform water adsorption, transport, and desorption within the asymmetric QSF channels under moisture, photothermal, and electrothermal stimuli. Interestingly, MXene actuators can be flexibly formed into various shapes under moisture‐assisted mechanical compression, which not only enhances their multiresponsive actuation, but also permits a more complex deformation. As proof‐of‐concept demonstrations, various intriguing applications including a dual‐role robot, a smart shielding curtain, and a dragonfly robot, are fabricated, revealing the potential of MXene actuators for soft robotics. Background: Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT) is the validated non-pharmacological treatment for chronic pain in pediatric patients. While some suggested CBT were comparable to the usual care in reducing children's functional abdominal pain. This meta-analysis was designed to systematically review the literature for RCTs that investigated the efficacy of CBT in children with functional abdominal pain (FAP). Methods: PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane library were searched for papers published up to October 2022. Studies applying different CBT delivery methods (in-person, web-based, phone-based) were included in this meta-analysis to evaluate the comprehensive effectiveness of CBT compared with usual care. Weighted and standardized mean difference with the 95% confidence intervals were used for the synthesis of the results. Primary outcome was the decrease of functional disability inventory (FDI) and the secondary outcomes were the decrease of severity in pain intensity, depression, anxiety, gastrointestinal symptoms, and improvement in physical quality of life (QoL). Results: A total of 10 RCTs with 1187 children were included in the final analysis. The results showed that CBT resulted in better effect in reducing functional disability inventory (SMD=-2.282, 95%CI: -4.537 to -0.027, P = 0.047), pain intensity (SMD=-0.594, 95%CI: -1.147 to -0.040, P = 0.036), and improving QoL (SMD = 14.097, 95%CI: 0.901 to 27.292, P = 0.036) compared with the control groups. Comparable effects were observed in the severity of depression (SMD=-0.493, 95%CI: -1.594 to 0.608, P = 0.380), anxiety (SMD=-0.062, 95%CI: -0.640 to 0.517, P = 0.835), and gastrointestinal symptoms (SMD=-1.096 95%CI: -2.243 to 0.050, P = 0.061) between CBT and usual treatment. Conclusions: We observed the differences in post-treatment FAP and pain intensity for children receiving CBT compared with children receiving treatment as usual. Melanoma is a melanocyte‐derived malignant cancer and is known for its early metastasis and high mortality rates. It is a highly cutaneous tumour disease that could be related to the abnormal immune microenvironment, and the identification of reliable diagnostic and prognostic markers is crucial for improving patient outcomes. In the search for biomarkers, various types of RNAs have been discovered and recognized as reliable prognostic markers. Among these, small nucleolar RNAs (snoRNAs) have emerged as a promising avenue for studying early diagnosis and prognostic markers in tumours due to their widespread presence in tissues, tumour specificity and stability. In our study, we analysed snoRNAs data from melanoma samples in the TCGA‐SKCM cohort and developed a prognostic model comprising 12 snoRNAs (SNORD9, SNORA31, SNORD14E, SNORA14A, SNORA5A, SNORD83A, SNORA75, AL096855, AC007684, SNORD14A, SNORA65 and AC004839). This model exhibited unique prognostic accuracy and demonstrated a significant correlation with the immune infiltration tumour microenvironment. Additionally, analysis of the GSE213145 dataset, which explored the sensitivity and resistance of immune checkpoint inhibitors, further supported the potential of snoRNAs as prognostic markers for immunotherapy. Overall, our study contributes reliable prognostic and immune‐related biomarkers for melanoma patients. These findings can offer valuable insights for the future discovery of novel melanoma treatment strategies and hold promise for improving clinical outcomes in melanoma patients. We report the results of fitting Insight-HXMT data to the black hole X-ray binary MAXI J1348-430, which was discovered on January 26th, 2019, We also inferred the ionization state and iron abundancewith the Gas Slit Camera on-board MAXI. Several observations at the beginning of the first burst were selected, with a total of 10 spectra. From the residuals of fits using disc plus power-law models, X-ray reflection signatures were clearly visible in some of these observations. We use the state-of-the-art |$\tt {relxill}$| series reflection model to fit six spectra with distinct reflection signatures and a joint fit to these spectra. In particular, we focus on the results for the black hole spin values. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the speech recognition equivalence of Mandarin Bamford-Kowal-Bench (BKB) sentence lists with adults and children with normal hearing. Method: A total of 32 lists, each of nine sentences, were compiled from a corpus of BKB-like sentences with paired babble in Mandarin. Interlist equivalence, critical differences, and sensitivity of performance to signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) were examined. Experiment 1 included 64 native Mandarin-speaking adults with normal hearing. Experiment 2 included 54 native Mandarin-speaking children with normal hearing aged 4-6 years. Results: Among the 32 sentence lists, 28 lists were confirmed to be equivalent in adults, with a mean SNR required for 50% correct (SNR50) of -5.9 ± 0.1 dB, a mean slope of 22.3%/dB ± 1.5%/dB, and a grand 95% critical difference subsequently calculated as 27.2% for score. From the 28 equivalent lists, 27 lists were selected and observed to be equivalent in children, with a mean SNR50 threshold of -2.0 ± 0.2 dB, a mean slope of 15.8%/dB ± 1.1%/dB, and a grand 95% critical difference of 24.6% for score. Conclusions: The Mandarin BKB sentences in babble noise test offers an opportunity for clinicians and researchers to assess speech understanding in adults and preschool children in an efficient manner. For comparisons of performance in different test conditions, 28 equivalent lists are available for adults and 27 equivalent lists for preschool children. The 95% critical difference values can be used for total percentage correct or SNR for 50% performance. Future work will examine the clinical utility for school-age children and children who are deaf and hard of hearing. We present a generalizable fabrication method for a new class of analytical devices that merges virtually any microfluidic design with high-sensitivity on-chip attenuated total reflection (ATR) sampling using any standard Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometer. Termed "spectIR-fluidics", a major design feature is the integration of a multi-groove silicon ATR crystal into a microfluidic device, compared with previous approaches in which the ATR surface served as a structural support for the entire device. This was accomplished by the design, fabrication, and aligned bonding of a highly engineered ATR sensing layer, which con'''tains a seamlessly embedded ATR crystal on the channel side and an optical access port that matched the spectrometer light path characteristics at the device exterior. The refocused role of the ATR crystal as a dedicated analytical element, combined with optimized light coupling to the spectrometer, results in limits of detection as low as 540 nM for a D -glucose solution, arbitrarily complex channel features that are fully enclosed, and up to 18 world-to-chip connections. H2O2 photosynthesis coupled with biomass valorization can not only maximize the energy utilization but also realize the production of value‐added products. Here, a series of COFs (i.e. Cu3‐BT‐COF, Cu3‐pT‐COF and TFP‐BT‐COF) with regulated redox molecular junctions have been prepared to study H2O2 photosynthesis coupled with furfuryl alcohol (FFA) photo‐oxidation to furoic acid (FA). The FA generation efficiency of Cu3‐BT‐COF was found to be 575 mM g−1 (conversion ≈100 % and selectivity >99 %) and the H2O2 production rate can reach up to 187 000 μM g−1, which is much higher than Cu3‐pT‐COF, TFP‐BT‐COF and its monomers. As shown by theoretical calculations, the covalent coupling of the Cu cluster and the thiazole group can promote charge transfer, substrate activation and FFA dehydrogenation, thus boosting both the kinetics of H2O2 production and FFA photo‐oxidation to increase the efficiency. In this study, hydrolysates of large yellow croaker (Pseudosciaena crocea) roe were prepared by trypsin (Try‐pcRHs) and papain (Pap‐pcRHs). The degree of hydrolysis (DH), molecular weight distribution and iron chelating capacity of hydrolysates were investigated. Moreover, the chelation mechanism of iron‐hydrolysates complex also was investigated by amino acid composition analysis, fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer, fluorescence spectrophotometer and ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy. These results showed that Try‐pcRHs exhibited higher iron chelating ability with the EC50 value of 0.14 mg/ml than Pap‐pcRHs, which may be due to the higher DH and content of peptide <1 KDa. Furthermore, the Asp, Glu, Ser, Pro, Ile, Phe and His in Try‐pcRHs might contribute to the chelation reaction, and the groups of ‐COOH, C=O, N‐H and C‐O were involved in chealtiong of Try‐pcRHs with iron. Therefore, Try‐pcRHs have the potential to be used as iron supplements in food industries. Practical Applications: Large yellow croaker (Pseudosciaena crocea) roes are the main by‐products in the large yellow croaker processing. Previous studies have found that protein isolates from P. crocea roes composed of vitellogenin B, vitellogenin C and vitellogenin contain a large number of serine residues. In this study, we prepared hydrolysates from large yellow croaker roes, and the results showed that trypsin‐hydrolyzed large yellow croaker roes exhibited great iron‐chelating ability and has the potential to be used as a safe and healthy iron supplements in the food industry. Graph convolutional networks (GCNs) are neural network frameworks for machine learning on graphs. They can simultaneously perform end-to-end learning on the attribute information and the structure information of graph data. However, most existing GCNs inevitably encounter the limitations of non-robustness and low classification accuracy when labeled nodes are scarce. To address the two issues, the deep graph convolutional generative adversarial network (DGCGAN), a model combining GCN and deep convolutional generative adversarial networks (DCGAN), is proposed in this paper. First, the graph data is mapped to a highly nonlinear space by using the topology and attribute information of the graph for symmetric normalized Laplacian transform. Then, through the feature-structured enhanced module, the node features are expanded into regular structured data, such as images and sequences, which are input to DGCGAN as positive samples, thus expanding the sample capacity. In addition, the feature-enhanced (FE) module is adopted to enhance the typicality and discriminability of node features, and to obtain richer and more representative features, which is helpful for facilitating accurate classification. Finally, additional constraints are added to the network model by introducing DCGAN, thus enhancing the robustness of the model. Through extensive empirical studies on several standard benchmarks, we find that DGCGAN outperforms state-of-the-art baselines on semi-supervised node classification and remote sensing image classification. With the increased incidence of wine fraud, a fast and reliable method for wine certification has become a necessary prerequisite for the vigorous development of the global wine industry. In this study, a classification strategy based on three-dimensional fluorescence spectroscopy combined with chemometrics was proposed for oak-barrel and stainless steel tanks with oak chips aged wines. Principal component analysis (PCA), partial least squares analysis (PLS-DA), and Fisher discriminant analysis (FDA) were used to distinguish and evaluate the data matrix of the three-dimensional fluorescence spectra of wines. The results showed that FDA was superior to PCA and PLS-DA in classifying oak-barrel and stainless steel tanks with oak chips aged wines. As a general conclusion, three-dimensional fluorescence spectroscopy can provide valuable fingerprint information for the identification of oak-barrel and stainless steel tanks with oak chips aged wines, while the study will provide some theoretical references and standards for the quality control and quality assessment of oak-barrel aged wines. Aqueous inorganic salt solutions play a prominent role in both physiological and chemical experiments, and significant attention has been directed toward understanding the mechanisms underlying salt dissolution. In our effort to elucidate the hydration process of potassium chloride, we employed a comprehensive genetic algorithm to explore the structures of KCl(H2O)n (n = 1–10). A series of stable structures were identified by high-level ab initio optimization and single-point energy calculations with a zero-point energy correction. An analysis of the probability distribution of KCl(H2O)1–10 revealed that clusters with high probability at low temperatures exhibit reduced probabilities at higher temperatures, while others become more prevalent. The aberrant expression of the Tn antigen (CD175) on surface glycoproteins of human carcinomas is associated with tumorigenesis, metastasis, and poor survival. To target this antigen, we developed Remab6, a recombinant, human chimeric anti-Tn-specific monoclonal IgG. However, this antibody lacks antibody-dependent cell cytotoxicity (ADCC) effector activity, due to core fucosylation of its N-glycans. Here we describe the generation of an afucosylated Remab6 (Remab6-AF) in HEK293 cells in which the FX gene is deleted (FXKO). These cells cannot synthesize GDP-fucose through the de novo pathway, and lack fucosylated glycans, although they can incorporate extracellularly-supplied fucose through their intact salvage pathway. Remab6-AF has strong ADCC activity against Tn+ colorectal and breast cancer cell lines in vitro, and is effective in reducing tumor size in an in vivo xenotransplant mouse model. Zika virus (ZIKV), which is mainly transmitted by Aedes albopictus in temperate zones, can causes serious neurological disorders. However, the molecular mechanisms that influence the vector competence of Ae. albopictus for ZIKV are poorly understood. In this study, the vector competence of Ae. albopictus mosquitoes from Jinghong (JH) and Guangzhou (GZ) Cities of China were evaluated, and transcripts in the midgut and salivary gland tissues were sequenced on 10 days post-infection. The results showed that both Ae. albopictus JH and GZ strains were susceptible to ZIKV, but the GZ strain was more competent. The categories and functions of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in response to ZIKV infection were quite different between tissues and strains. Through a bioinformatics analysis, a total of 59 DEGs that may affect vector competence were screened—among which, cytochrome P450 304a1 (CYP304a1) was the only gene significantly downregulated in both tissues of two strains. However, CYP304a1 did not influence ZIKV infection and replication in Ae. albopictus under the conditions set in this study. Our results demonstrated that the different vector competence of Ae. albopictus for ZIKV may be determined by the transcripts in the midgut and salivary gland, which will contribute to understanding ZIKV–mosquito interactions and develop arbovirus disease prevention strategies. The zero-sum game between the strength of deep in-situ thermal insulation coring structures and the performance of passive thermal insulation materials seriously restricts the exploration and development of deep resources. In this paper, an innovative thermal insulation coring structure based on passive thermal insulation material is designed, and a strength analysis of thermal insulation material is carried out based on the elastic theory of multilayer cylinders, which reveals the stress distribution and deformation law of thermal insulation material in a deep in-situ environment. The reliability of the results is verified by comparisons between the numerical simulation and theoretical derivation. The results show that for deep coring environments of 150 °C and 140 MPa, the wall thickness and diameter of the corer can be greatly reduced by directly coating the insulation material on the surface of the core barrel. Apple snails from the family Ampullariidae have become economically important due to several species mainly from the genus Pomacea being invasive. The heat shock proteins (HSPs), which are important molecular chaperones for species responding to various stresses, have been proved to play critical roles in adapting harsh environments in the invasive apple snails. The recent release of the genomes of Pomacea canaliculata , Pomacea maculata , Lanistes nyassanus , and Marisa cornuarietis has opened the opportunity for a comprehensive analysis of HSP superfamily in the ampullariids. We identified the number of HSP from P. canaliculata (PcaHSPs) was greater than that from the other three species. A total of 42 PcaHSPs were distributed on 12 chromosomes and were classified into the families of HSP90, HSP70, HSP60, HSP40, HSP20, and HSP10. Each family formed a monophyletic clade on the phylogenetic tree with strong support values, except for the HSP90 and HSP70 families. The RNA-seq data shows that most the PcaHSPs were of tissue-specific expression levels. Moreover, we identified more HSP genes with stronger transcription levels in response to heat than cold stress. INTRODUCTION Tobacco smoke contains a large number of harmful substances and carcinogens. Smoking and secondhand smoke cause a variety of cancers and diseases, seriously endangering human health. However, the status and characteristics of the awareness of hazards due to tobacco among people aged ≥15 years in Chongqing, China, are still unknown. METHODS A multistage stratified cluster random sampling method was used to select ten districts and counties in Chongqing Municipality, China and a total of 6622 people were investigated between August and October 2020. The chi-squared test was used to analyze the awareness of hazards due to tobacco in various populations after the data had been cleaned and weighted. RESULTS In 2020, the awareness rates of people aged ≥15 years in Chongqing, China, about a specific disease caused by smoking were lung cancer (77.1%), heart disease (45.1%), stroke (40.1%), and penile erectile dysfunction (24.2%). However, only 22.1% of the respondents knew that smoking could simultaneously lead to all four diseases mentioned above. Adult lung cancer was the disease with the highest awareness rating (72.5%), followed by children's lung disease (54.2%) and adult heart disease (46.1%). A total of 42.0% of respondents knew that secondhand smoke could cause the three diseases simultaneously. Only 22.0% of those correctly understood the harm of low-tar cigarettes. The logistic regression results showed that education level and occupation were risk factors for lack of awareness of hazards due to tobacco. In contrast, media campaigns on tobacco control were a protective factor. CONCLUSIONS The awareness of hazards due to tobacco among people aged ≥15 years in Chongqing, China, still needs to be improved. More graphic health warning labels and mass media campaigns about the hazards of tobacco should be carried out to raise people's awareness and warn about the health risks of smoking. However, little is known about the effects of high shear stress (HSS) on human brain microvascular endothelial cells (HBMECs) and the underlying mechanism. The cholesterol efflux regulator ATP-binding cassette subfamily A member 1 (ABCA1) has been demonstrated to exert protective effect on HBMECs. However, whether ABCA1 is involved in the mechanism underneath the effect of HSS on HBMECs remains obscure. In the present study, a series of experiments were performed to better understand the effect of HSS on cellular processes of HBMECs and the possible involvement of ABCA1 and PI3K/Akt/eNOS in the underlying mechanisms. Results: HBMECs were subjected to physiological SS (PSS) or high SS (HSS). Cell migration was evaluated using Transwell assay. Apoptotic HBMECs were detected by flow cytometry or caspase3/7 activity. IL-1β, IL-6, MCP-1 and TNF-α levels were measured by ELISA. RT-qPCR and western blotting were used for mRNA and protein expression detection, respectively. ROS and NO levels were detected using specific detection kits. Compared to PSS, HBMECs exhibited decreased cell viability and migration and increased cell apoptosis, increased levels of inflammatory cytokines, and improved ROS and NO productions after HSS treatment. Moreover, HSS downregulated ABCA1 but upregulated the cholesterol efflux-related proteins MMP9, AQP4, and CYP46 and activated PI3K/Akt/eNOS pathway. Overexpression of ABCA1 in HBMECS inhibited PI3K/Akt/eNOS pathway and counteracted the deleterious effects of HSS. Contrary effects were observed by ABCA1 silencing. Inhibiting PI3K/Akt/eNOS pathway mimicked ABCA1 effects, suggesting that ABCA1 protects HBMECs from HSS via PI3K/Akt/eNOS signaling. Simple Summary: At the time of diagnosis, many gastric cancer (GC) patients were often found to have reached an advanced stage, with a five-year overall survival rate of less than 30%. Therefore, a better understanding of the underlying mechanism of GC metastasis is essential for developing novel and effective treatments. The aim of this study was to assess the role of lncRNAs in GC metastasis. We confirmed that LINC01537 promoted the proliferation, invasion, and migration of GC cells in vitro, and promoted tumorigenesis and metastasis in vivo. Mechanistically, LINC01537 stabilizes RIPK4 by reducing the binding of RIPK4 to TRIM25, and reducing its ubiquitination degradation, thereby promoting the expression of the NF-κB signaling pathway. Many studies reported that long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) play a critical role in gastric cancer (GC) metastasis and tumorigenesis. However, the underlying mechanisms of lncRNAs in GC remain unexplored to a great extent. LINC01537 expression level was detected using quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) and immunohistochemistry (IHC). Its biological roles in GC were then investigated using functional experiments. In order to investigate the underlying mechanism of LINC01537 in GC, RNA pull-down, RNA immunoprecipitation, and ubiquitination assays were performed. LINC01537 was significantly overexpressed in GC tissues and associated with a poor prognosis. Functional experimental results revealed that LINC01537 promoted the proliferation, invasion, and migration of GC cells. The animal experiments revealed that LINC01537 promoted tumorigenesis and metastasis in vivo. Mechanistically, LINC01537 stabilizes RIPK4 by reducing the binding of RIPK4 to TRIM25 and reducing its ubiquitination degradation, thereby promoting the expression of the NF-κB signaling pathway. Purpose: For gravity dams built on foundations with directional joint sets, the seepage in the foundation possesses anisotropic characteristics and may have adverse effects on the foundation stability. A methodology for system reliability analysis of gravity dam foundations considering anisotropic seepage and multiple sliding surfaces is proposed in this paper. Design/methodology/approach: Anisotropic seepages in dam foundations are simulated using finite element method (FEM) with the equivalent continuum model (ECM), and their effect on dam foundation stability is involved by uplift pressures acting on the potential sliding surfaces. The system failure probability of the dam foundation is efficiently estimated using Monte Carlo method (MCM) combined with response surface method (RSM). Findings: The case study shows that it is necessary to consider the possibly adverse effect of anisotropic seepage on foundation stability of gravity dams and the deterministic analysis of the foundation stability may be misleading. The system reliability analysis of the dam foundation is justified, as the uncertainties in shear strength parameters of the foundation rocks and joint sets as well as aperture, connectivity and spacing of the joint sets are quantified and the system effect of the multiple potential sliding surfaces on the foundation reliability is reasonably considered. Recently, the scenes in large high-resolution remote sensing (HRRS) datasets have been classified using convolutional neural network (CNN)-based methods. Such methods are well-suited for spatial feature extraction and can classify images with relatively high accuracy. However, CNNs do not adequately learn the long-distance dependencies between images and features in image processing, despite this being necessary for HRRS image processing as the semantic content of the scenes in these images is closely related to their spatial relationship. CNNs also have limitations in solving problems related to large intra-class differences and high inter-class similarity. To overcome these challenges, in this study we combine the channel-spatial attention (CSA) mechanism with the Vision Transformer method to propose an effective HRRS image scene classification framework using Channel-Spatial Attention Transformers (CSAT). The proposed model extracts the channel and spatial features of HRRS images using CSA and the Multi-head Self-Attention (MSA) mechanism in the transformer module. First, the HRRS image is mapped into a series of multiple planar 2D patch vectors after passing to the CSA. Second, the ordered vector is obtained via the linear transformation of each vector, and the position and learnable embedding vectors are added to the sequence vector to capture the inter-feature dependencies at a distance from the generated image. Next, we use MSA to extract image features and the residual network structure to complete the encoder construction to solve the gradient disappearance problem and avoid overfitting. Finally, a multi-layer perceptron is used to classify the scenes in the HRRS images. The CSAT network is evaluated using three public remote sensing scene image datasets: UC-Merced, AID, and NWPU-RESISC45. Here, a titanium‐cluster based metal‐covalent organic framework nanosheet has been synthesized through the covalent‐coupling between Ti6‐NH2 and benzotrithiophene tricarbaldehyde (BTT). The integration of them endows the nanosheet with a visible‐light‐adsorption region, effective electron‐hole separation‐efficiency and suitable photo‐oxidation ability. Specifically, its photo‐selectivity for HMF‐to‐FDCA can be >95 % with ≈100 % conversion, which is more than 2, 5, and 10 times higher than MOF‐901 (43 %), Ti6‐NH2 (19 %) and under‐darkness (9 %), respectively. Background: Post-traumatic hydrocephalus (PTH) is a complication of traumatic brain injury (TBI) that requires treatment and postoperative care. The shunt is one of the main treatments for PTH, which presents with dysfunction and infection. Considering brain injury, hydrocephalus shunt malfunction, and infection, family caregivers need to be responsible for caring for PTH patients, recognizing shunt malfunction and infection, and managing those patients accordingly from hospital to home. Understanding the experiences and needs of caregivers is beneficial for knowing their competency and quality of health care, ameliorating and ensuring future transition care. The study aimed to explore the feelings, experiences, and needs of family caregivers when caring for patients with TBI, PTH and shunts.Methods: This was exploratory research of a purposive sample of 12 family caregivers of adult patients with TBI, PTH and shunts in five neurosurgery departments at a general hospital in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, China, using a semi-structured interview method. Data were collected from October 2021 to March 2022 before being analyzed by content analysis methods.Results: Caregivers required professional and social knowledge and support in the areas of TBI, PTH and shunts, caregiving interventions, psychological care needs, and health insurance, just as caregivers do, but unlike other general caregivers, care for patients with TBI, PTH, and shunt is fraught with uncertainty and the need to manage shunt setting, and caregivers often experience 'complex emotional reaction' during the transitional period, where care needs and complex emotions may lead to a lack of caregiver confidence, which in turn may affect caregiving behaviors, and experiences that affect care may be mediated through caregiving confidence. The perceived availability of resources, particularly those that are still available to them when they return home, has a significant impact on participants' emotional response and sense of confidence.Conclusions: The emotional response and the impact of stressor caregivers after TBI, PTH, and shunt was important, and sometimes confidence in care appeared to be an intermediate and useful factor that needed to be considered as health professionals prepared to develop care resources on how to manage and empower patients with TBI, PTH, and shunt. In this study, 60 crushed samples comprising four groups of particles of different sizes were used to simulate the porous and crushed conditions of a gob area in an underground mine. Size distribution, porosity range, and the ratio of wavelength to the particle size of the crushed samples were taken into account with reference to the field observations in the actual gob. The ultrasonic wave velocity and attenuation were measured at an expected porosity under a loading pressure. Meanwhile, the permeability of the samples in the same conditions as the wave measurement was measured using the steady-state method. The results showed that the P-wave velocity of the crushed material was in the range of 400–1000 m/s, which was similar to the velocity of the fractured rock in the actual gob. The model for estimating the seismic attenuation of the crushed rock was confirmed to be a function of the porosity (φ), the density of discontinuity (δ), transmission coefficient (ζ), wave frequency (f), and the scatter factor (κ) proposed in the empirical formula based on the equipment results. The estimated seismic attenuation was consistent with the measurements in the experiment as well as the actual value based on previous study. In particular, the estimation was quite accurate, while the ratio of wavelength (λ) to particle size (dm) was between 35 and 65. The estimated permeability of the crushed rock mass fell into a magnitude range of 10−12 to 10−13 m2. The permeability showed consistency with the Kozney–Carman equation but with a larger tortuosity coefficient. The field gob permeability estimated by the laboratory correlation was from 1225 to 15,866 10−12 m2, showing good agreement with the previous research. Staphylococcal aureus (S. aureus) infection can lead to a wide range of diseases such as sepsis and pneumonia. Staphylococcal superantigen-like (SSL) proteins, expressed by all known S. aureus strains, are shown to be involved in immune evasion during S. aureus infection. Here, we show that SSL10, an SSL family protein, exhibits potent cytotoxicity against human cells (HEK293T and HUVEC) by inducing necroptosis upon binding to its receptor TNFR1 on the cell membrane. After binding, two distinct signaling pathways are activated downstream of TNFR1 in a RIPK3-dependent manner, i.e., the RIPK1-RIPK3-MLKL and RIPK3-CaMKII-mitochondrial permeability transition pore (mPTP) pathways. Knockout of ssl10 in S. aureus significantly reduces cytotoxicity of the culture supernatants of S. aureus, indicating that SSL10 is involved in extracellular cytotoxicity during infection. We determined the crystal structure of SSL10 at 1.9 Å resolution and identified a positively charged surface of SSL10 responsible for TNFR1 binding and cytotoxic activity. This study thus provides the description of cytotoxicity through induction of necroptosis by the SSL10 protein, and a potential target for clinical treatment of S. aureus-associated diseases. Quercetin (1) was converted into quercetin 7-O-succinyl glucoside (2) by used Bacillus amyloliquefaciens FJ18 as a solvent-resistant whole-cell biocatalyst. The structure of the new compound was confirmed by LC-MS analysis and NMR spectroscopy. The water-solubility of this novel quercetin 7-O-succinyl glucoside (2) was approximately 1000 times higher than that of native quercetin (2). Quercetin (1) and quercetin 7-O-succinyl glucoside (2) exhibited significant DPPH scavenging capacity with IC50 values of 23.55 and 36.05 µM, respectively. We conducted a comprehensive search through the databases of PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science from inception to February 29, 2024, to identify systematic reviews with meta-analyses of observational studies examining the associations between the PFASs and multiple health outcomes. The quality of included studies was evaluated using the A Measurement Tool to Assess Systematic Reviews (AMSTAR) tool, and credibility of evidence was assessed using the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluations (GRADE) criteria. The protocol of this umbrella review (UR) had been registered in PROSPERO (CRD 42023480817). The UR identified 157 meta-analyses from 29 articles. Using the AMSTAR measurement tool, all articles were categorized as of moderate-to-high quality. Based on the GRADE assessment, significant associations between specific types of PFASs and low birth weight, tetanus vaccine response, and triglyceride levels showed high certainty of evidence. Moreover, moderate certainty of evidence with statistical significance was observed between PFASs and health outcomes including lower BMI z-score in infancy, poor sperm progressive motility, and decreased risk of preterm birth as well as preeclampsia. Fifty-two (33%) associations (e.g., PFASs and gestational hypertension, cardiovascular disease, etc) presented low certainty evidence. Additionally, eighty-five (55%) associations (e.g., PFASs with infertility, lipid metabolism, etc) presented very low certainty evidence. High certainty of evidence supported that certain PFASs were associated with the incidence of low birth weight, low efficiency of the tetanus vaccine, and low triglyceride levels. • Analytically evaluate stacking strategies in automated container terminals. • Propose a two-stage framework including a semi-open queuing network. • Consider AGVs, landside yard crane and quayside yard crane in vertical yard layout. • Validate the analytic results using event-driven simulation model. Stacking strategies determine which yard block to allocate the container and which bay and column in the block to stack the container. They play an important role to ensure yard efficiency and reduce vessel berthing time and truck waiting time. This paper models and analyses the impact of stacking strategies on the container terminal operations by a two-stage approach. We consider common stacking rules including random stacking rule and distance-based priority assigning rule. In the first stage, the individual operations of handling equipment are modelled by travel time models considering uncertainty in operations. The effects of stacking rules on individual operations, such as Automatic Guided Vehicle (AGV) traveling times, landside yard crane operation times and seaside yard crane operation times, are estimated. In the second stage, we use a semi-open queuing network to model the interactions between individual operations, and the results of the first stage are used as inputs in the second stage network. We analytically examined the handling times of the relevant equipment under different stacking strategies and their sensitivity to yard density. Finally, we use simulation method to verify the effectiveness of the results of our model. The results can offer insights into which stacking strategies are more suitable under different criteria and circumstances such as balancing workload, increasing yard utilization and reducing congestion for external trucks. Enhancing the temperature distribution uniformity in membrane electrodes is crucial for improving the durability and performance stability of proton exchange membrane fuel cells. In this study, we discovered an entrance region in the cathode membrane electrode of proton exchange membrane fuel cells characterized by a rapid rise in temperature. This inlet region shows a notably higher temperature variation rate compared to other regions. This phenomenon is attributed to the temperature difference between the constant temperature fluid supplied by the channel inlet and the heat generation in the cathode catalyst layer. Thus, the impact of channel structure at the entrance region on the temperature distribution of the cathode catalyst layer is investigated, based on a three-dimensional, non-isothermal, two-phase model. Results show that boosting heat transfer in the inlet region is more effective for reducing the average temperature than in other regions. We proposed five kinds of step arrangement schemes and discovered that the step arrangement in the entrance region of the cathode flow channel can increase the temperature uniformity of the cathode catalyst layer by 9.71% without net power loss. Furthermore, this study examines the impact of length, height of entrance steps, and outlet channel height on heat transfer and identifies the optimum value. • The spatial variation of sediment connectivity in small watershed was quantified by IC. • Significant spatial variation and autocorrelation were detected in IC in black soil region. • Topographic and anthropogenic factors were main determinants of sediment connectivity spatial variation. Connectivity has become an important indicator of the sediment transfer potential through sediment sources to catchment sinks. Connectivity plays a vital role in investigating the rate of soil erosion caused by runoff and sediment output across the watershed landscape. However, there have been few quantitative studies on the spatial variations in sediment connectivity in the black soil region of Northeast China. Seven classic watersheds in the northeast black soil region were selected to discover spatial variations in sediment connectivity and their influencing factors. The connectivity index (IC) was used to study the spatial variation of sediment connectivity, and the weight of IC was calculated using the vegetation cover management factor (C), which reflected the influence of human activities on the soil erosion process caused by cultivated land expansion and encroachment of forest grassland. The redundancy analysis method (RDA) was used to determine the main factors affecting the spatial variation of IC. The results showed that IC decreased from north (0.45) to south (0.12). The spatial variations of watersheds in sediment connectivity showed significant spatial heterogeneity. IC was correlated with topographic, climatic, and artificial management characteristics at 0.01 or 0.05 levels except soil structural index; RDA results showed that topography and human activities were the main factors affecting sediment connectivity. Topographic and climatic factors explained more sediment connectivity changes in the southern watersheds than in the northern watersheds, while the human activities factor explanation was the opposite of topographic factors. The Shijiutuo Uplift within the Bohai Bay Basin(BBB)has experienced a complex evolutionary history since the Cenozoic. Studies of the Cenozoic evolution of the Shijiutuo Uplift are important for basin tectonics and petroleum geology. The formation of uplifts in rift basins is generally controlled by regional tectonic event and fault-block tilting. In this study, apatite fission track (AFT) data from fourteen samples and seismic data analysis were used to study the processes of regional uplift and fault-block tilting. We further investigated the Cenozoic evolution and formation mechanism of the Shijiutuo Uplift. The results indicated that the Shijiutuo Uplift experienced a two-phase differential tectonic uplift and erosion history (1) Widespread rapid uplift and erosion during the early Cenozoic (65–55 Ma) (2) Widespread uplift and erosion from 40 Ma to 16 Ma. The uplift and erosion substages of 40–38 Ma and 26–16 Ma were mainly caused by regional uplift, whereas those of 38–26 Ma resulted from fault-block tilting. Since the end of the third member from the Eocene Shahejie Formation, the Shijiutuo Uplift began to rise, causing the greater Bozhong Depression to be separated into the independent Qinnan and Bozhong Sags. These tectonic uplift and erosion events have a wide range of responses and regional dynamics in eastern China. The findings of this study will lead to a better understanding of the evolution and formation of uplifts within the BBB. The Madin-Darby canine kidney (MDCK) cell line is an in vitro model for influenza A virus (IAV) infection and propagation. MDCK-SIAT1 (SIAT1) and humanized MDCK (hCK) cell lines are engineered MDCK cells that express N-glycans with elevated levels of sialic acid (Sia) in α2,6-linkage (α2,6-Sia) that are recognized by many human IAVs. To characterize the N-glycan structures in these cells and the potential changes compared to the parental MDCK cell line resulting from engineering, we analyzed the N-glycans from these cells at different passages, using both mass spectrometry and specific lectin and antibody binding. We observed significant differences between the three cell lines in overall complex N-glycans and terminal galactose modifications. MDCK cells express core fucosylated, bisected complex-type N-glycans at all passage stages, in addition to expressing α2,6-Sia on short N-glycans and α2,3-Sia on larger N-glycans. By contrast, SIAT1 cells predominantly express α2,6-Sia glycans and greatly reduced level of α2,3-Sia glycans. Additionally, they express bisected, sialylated N-glycans that are scant in MDCK cells. The hCK cells exclusively express α2,6-Sia glycans. Unexpectedly, hCK glycoproteins bound robustly to the plant lectin MAL-1, indicating α2,3-Sia glycans, but such binding was not Sia-dependent and closely mirrored that of an antibody that recognizes glycans with terminal 3-O-sulfate galactose (3-O-SGal). The 3-O-SGal epitope is highly expressed in N-glycans on multiple hCK glycoproteins. The combination of κ‐Carrageenan (KC) and konjac gum (KGM) were introduced to examine the impact on gelation and microstructural behaviors of scallop male gonads hydrolysates (SMGHs) and the involvement of intermolecular forces. In terms of G′ response of SMGHs/KGM/KC, it obviously enhanced by 3.6‐ and 108.5‐fold than controls of KGM/KC and SMGHs/KC at 0.1 Hz, accompanying increasing melting temperatures from 27.9 (KGM/KC) and 30.0 (SMGHs/KC) to 33.7°C (SMGHs/KGM/KC), respectively. Additionally, SMGHs/KGM/KC with decreasing relaxation time T23 and blue shift of hydroxyl group than controls suggested higher water retention capacity and ordered conformation. Moreover, SMGHs/KGM/KC formed compact networks with thick walls as reflected by cryo‐SEM and showed rougher surface with more aggregation as reflected by AFM. Furthermore, electrostatic in couple with hydrophobic interactions were dominant interactions, while hydrogen bonds were involved in subordinately in SMGHs/KGM/KC. The complex coacervation between scallop (Patinopecten yessoensis) female gonad protein isolates (SFGPIs) and sodium alginate (SA) was determined by the turbidimetric method. The impact of pH, total biopolymer concentration, biopolymer blend ratio, and various salt ionic on the mechanisms governing the complex coacervation of SFGPIs–SA complexes were also investigated. For the SFGPIs:SA ratio of 2:1 without adding NaCl, insoluble and soluble complexes were observed at pH 5.8 (pHφ1) and pH 8.2 (pHc) with the optimum biopolymer interactions appearing at pH 2.6 (pHopt). The maximum turbidity value increased with the increment of the total biopolymer concentration from 0.37 to 1.83 until attaining the critical value (0.75%). As the blend ratios rose from 1:3 to 12:1, the critical pH values (pHc, pHφ1, and pHopt) moved to higher pH. Furthermore, the addition of NaCl led to a remarkable decrease in turbidity over the whole pH region in SFGPIs–SA complexes. Moreover, monovalent ions (Na+ and K+) had the same effect on the formation of the SFGPIs–SA complex, whereas the divalent cations (Mg2+ and Ca2+) lessened the complex formation in comparison with the monovalent ions. This study offers a methodological and theoretical basis for the design of complex SFGPIs–SA systems by understanding the complex coacervation under different conditions. In the present study, a two-step hydrothermal method was employed to synthesize Fe2O3/WS2 composites with flower-like structure, which performed significant photocatalytic activities compared with the bare components. The morphologies and structures of the as-prepared photocatalysts were characterized, as well as the surface chemical components and the optical properties. Afterwards, the photocatalytic properties of the catalysts were evaluated through degrading MB dye and reducing Cr (VI) under the simulated solar-driven irradiation. Among these photocatalysts, 2WF behaved an efficiently oxidation degradation of 20 mg/L MB solution within 20 min, more than 5 times of bare Fe2O3 nanoparticles and nearly 3 times of bare WS2 nanosheets. Besides that, it exhibited an excellent photocatalytic reduction activity on reducing 40 mg/L Cr (VI) solution within 80 min, which was far superior to bare Fe2O3 and WS2. The excellent photocatalytic oxidation and reduction abilities enabled Fe2O3/WS2 heterostructures to be applied in the field of organic and inorganic pollutant decontaminations. The black hole candidate MAXI J1348-630 was discovered in 2019 January 26, with the Gas Slit Camera (GSC) on-board MAXI. We report a detailed spectral analysis of this source by using the archived data of NuSTAR. A total of nine observations covered the complete outburst evolution of MAXI J1348-630 from the hard state to the soft state and finally back to the hard state. Additionally, the intermediate state is found in the transition from the hard state to the soft state. We use the state-of-the-art reflection model relxill family to fit all the nine spectra, and the spectra from two focal plane module detectors of NuSTAR are jointly fitted for each observation. In particular, we concentrate on the results of the black hole spin parameter and the inclination of the accretion disc. Based on the analysis of the inner radius of the accretion disc, we obtain the spin parameter |$a_* =0.78_{-0.04}^{+0.04}$|⁠ , and the inclination angle of the inner disc |$i = 29.2_{-0.5}^{+0.3}$| °. Furthermore, we also find that when the black hole is in the hard state, the accretion disc would show a significant truncation. The high iron abundance and ionization of the accretion disc obtained in the fitting results can be possibly explained by the high density of the accretion disc. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Crisp yam chips were produced using hot air drying (AD), vacuum drying (VD), freeze drying (FD), and explosion puffing drying (EPD). As a result, the reducing sugar, total polyphenol and vitamin C contents, rehydration rate and volume ratio were well retained in freeze-dried chips with explosion puffing-dried chips following closely behind, which exhibited a higher total soluble solids content (TSS) and crispness. The microstructure of explosion puffing-dried chips showed distinct cell wall breakage and cell expansion, indicating the release of more TSSs and a relatively high hardness and crispness. Based on physicochemical chip properties, FD and EPD could be distinguished from the other drying methods, and the characteristic physicochemical properties of explosion puffing-dried yam chips were identified as the hardness and TSS level using multivariate analysis. Furthermore, 43 volatile compounds were isolated and identified in fresh yam and dried yam chips using headspace solid-phase microextraction gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (HS-SPME-GC-MS). Based on the volatile compositions of the samples, oct-1-en-3-ol was identified as the major volatile compound in fresh yam, and the volatiles in the explosion puffing-dried chips were clearly distinguished from those in the other dried yam chips due to the unique puffing process.
