Chemical hydrogen storage materials such as hydrazine borane (HB) have aroused great interest when the tricky hydrogen storage is still a barrier on the way to sustainable hydrogen energy development. Many efforts have been dedicated to the dehydrogenation of HB, but the catalytic performance is still not sufficient enough. Herein, we develop the synthesis of NiPt–MoOx nanoparticles supported on NH2 functionalized N doped rGO (NiPt–MoOx/NH2–N-rGO) via a green and facile method. Unexpectedly, the supported Ni0.9Pt0.1–MoOx ultrafine nanoparticles (UPs, ∼1.5 nm) show the highest activity by far with 100% selective conversion and a turnover frequency (TOF) of 4412 h−1 at 323 K.

The efficient cleavage of the N≡N bond is vital to N2 fixation but remains challenging. In this issue of Chem, Zhang and co-workers report that the interfacial polarization fields triggered by protrusion-shaped Fe single atoms on monolayer MoS2 can promote N≡N splitting via electron injection, resulting in a praiseworthy nitrogen electroreduction.

The electroreduction of nitrogen (N2) to ammonia (NH3) is gravely restricted by its inherent kinetic complexity and energy-intensive multi-electron steps. Most literature has reported that the first step of N2 adsorption and activation is the bottleneck of electrochemistry N2 reduction reaction (NRR). However, it is a considerable challenge to understand the design rule of catalysts with perfect performances for NRR. Here, as a proof-of-concept experiment, we apply the theoretical calculations with the experimental studies to reveal the influence of the high spin related to the size effect and the charge density related to the substrate effect on the catalytic activity of NRR catalysts. The desired ultrafine Rh nanoparticles anchored on CNT exhibit excellent NRR performances, especially high NH3 yield (26.91 μg h−1 mgcat.−1), Faradaic efficiency (23.48 %) and energy efficiency (20.50 %), outperforming most reported NRR electrocatalysts under ambient conditions, which can be attributed to excellent synergism of the high-spin polarization of Rh NPs and the charge exchange between Rh NPs and the substrate that can promote N2 adsorption and activate its intrinsic N N triple bond.

With the purpose of exploring the catalytic and sensing properties of crystalline materials, two coordination polymers were rationally constructed by the reactions of Zn(II)/Cd(II) ions with methyl-3-hydroxy-5-carboxy-2-thiophenecarboxylate (H2L) and bis(4-pyridylformyl)piperazine (bpfp) mixed ligands. Compound 1 features a 2D layered structure and compound 2 shows a 2D + 2D → 3D inclined polycatenation structure. Due to the presence of uncoordinated carbonyl moieties, the two CPs exhibit effective heterogeneous Lewis base catalytic activities to Knoevenagel condensation, and compound 1 shows higher catalytic activity than compound 2 under the same reaction conditions. Interestingly, the two CPs display strong ligand-based photoluminescence both in the solid state and in aqueous solution. More importantly, the sensing test results indicate that compound 2 as a sensor material can selectively recognize L-cysteine through the luminescence quenching effect.

With the improvement of people's living standards and life rhythm speeding up, the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases have become a danger to the top killer of the elderly health and longevity.This paper designed an ECG monitoring terminal of family used in telemedicine for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.The terminal adopted ADS1298 chip as collection simulation front-end, AVR as core processor ,collected the ECG signal and wireless transmission .The monitoring terminal had high common mode rejection ratio, high signal to noise ratio, low energy consumption, small volume, etc .And can real-time transfer the ECG data to the local area network through wireless transmission technology,convenient medical staff grasp patient's ECG data real-time and treatment it in time,this design meets the basic requirement of the portable monitoring.

The purposes of this study were to validate the Physical Self-Description Questionnaire (PSDQ-S) and examine the physical self-description profiles using Latent Profile Analysis with a Chinese sample. A total of 744 secondary school students in China took part in the study. While the results provided support for internal reliability and discriminant validity of the PSDQ-S, they indicated convergent validity required further testing. In addition, three distinct profiles were identified with unique physical self-concept and different levels of physical activity participation. The study showed the PDSQ-S is useful in differentiating groups of adolescents with different levels of physical self-concept.

This paper provided a method and implementation technique about massive amount of data information transmission based on a variety of problems of the UDP communication in poor network. We provided a method based on several deficiencies of traditional method, which could remove the task that would keep the data package transmission in the correct order to receiver in order to reduce the communication burden and improve the stability and efficiency of transmission. A large number of actual tests proved that the improve protocol can transmit the massive amount of data information good although the network speed is below 10K/S which showed the practical value.

A systematic review and meta-analysis to examine the effect of music interventions on psychological and physical outcome measures in cancer patients.We searched six English-language databases and three major Chinese-language databases in March 2011. Nine databases were reviewed from 1966 or the start of the database to March 2011. All randomized controlled trials comparing music intervention with standard care, other interventions, or placebo for psychological and physical outcomes in cancer were included. Study quality was evaluated by the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation Working Group. We then performed a meta-analysis of music interventions for psychological and physical outcomes in cancer.Of 322 total studies found, 32 randomized trials (3181 participants) met the inclusion criteria. Seven high-quality studies indicated music had positive effects on coping anxiety assessed by the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale. Two moderate-quality studies suggested music reduced anxiety assessed by the Hamilton Anxiety Scale. Eight moderate-quality studies revealed music lowered anxiety assessed by the Spielberger State-Trait Anxiety Inventory. Seven moderate-quality studies demonstrated that music improved depression. Seven moderate-quality studies observed that music had positive effects on pain management. Two moderate-quality studies suggested music worsened fatigue. Four moderate-quality studies indicated music lowered heart rate. Three low-quality studies suggested music could reduce respiratory rate. Two moderate-quality studies indicated that music improved quality of life.Individual randomized trials suggest that music intervention is accepted by patients and associated with improved psychological outcomes. The effects of music on vital signs especially blood pressure are small. High-quality trials are needed to further determine the effects of music intervention.

This review focuses on the benefits of regular physical activity participation have mainly focused on cognitive functioning, anxiety and depression, and self-concept. It is well documented that ex- ercise can enhance cognitive functioning, improve executive function at old age, and improve mental abil- ity of children labeled as educational subnormal or disability. Regular exercise has been used to reduce stress and ward off anxiety and feelings of depression. In addition, exercise can improve self-esteem and positive outlook in life. Studies in these three main areas were reviewed and issues and future directions were highlighted.

Background Pre-diabetes and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) are associated with an unhealthy lifestyle and pose extremely high costs to the healthcare system. In this study, we aim to explore whether individualized aerobic exercise (AEx) and low carbohydrate diet (LCh) intervention affect hepatic fat content (HFC) in pre-diabetes via modification of gut microbiota composition and other post-interventional effects. Methods/design A 6-month randomized intervention with 6-month follow-up is conducted from January 2013 to December 2015. The target sample size for intervention is 200 postmenopausal women and middle-aged men aged 50–65 year-old with pre-diabetes and NAFLD. The qualified subjects are randomized into 4 groups with 50 subjects in each group: 1 = AEx, 2 = LCh, 3 = AEx + LCh, and 4 = control. In addition, two age-matched reference groups (5 = pre-diabetes without NAFLD (n = 50) and 6 = Healthy without pre-diabetes or NAFLD (n = 50)) are included. The exercise program consists of progressive and variable aerobic exercise (intensity of 60 to 75% of initial fitness level, 3–5 times/week and 30–60 min/time). The diet program includes dietary consultation plus supplementation with a special lunch meal (40% of total energy intake/day) which aims to reduce the amount of carbohydrate consumption (30%). The control and reference groups are advised to maintain their habitual habits during the intervention. The primary outcome measures are HFC, serum metabolomics and gut microbiota composition. The secondary outcome measures include body composition and cytokines. In addition, socio-psychological aspects, social support, physical activity and diet will be performed by means of questionnaire and interview. Discussion Specific individualized exercise and diet intervention in this study offers a more efficient approach for liver fat reduction and diabetes prevention via modification of gut microbiota composition. Besides, the study explores the importance of incorporating fitness assessment and exercise in the management of patients with pre-diabetes and fatty liver disorders. If our program is shown to be effective, it will open new strategies to combat these chronic diseases. Trial registration Current Controlled Trials: ISRCTN42622771.
