The DArk Matter Particle Explorer (DAMPE) is well suitable for searching for monochromatic and sharp $\gamma$-ray structures in the GeV$-$TeV range thanks to its unprecedented high energy resolution. In this work, we search for $\gamma$-ray line structures using five years of DAMPE data. To improve the sensitivity, we develop two types of dedicated data sets (including the BgoOnly data which is the first time to be used in the data analysis for the calorimeter-based gamma-ray observatories) and adopt the signal-to-noise ratio optimized regions of interest (ROIs) for different DM density profiles. No line signals or candidates are found between 10 and 300 GeV in the Galaxy. The constraints on the velocity-averaged cross section for $\chi\chi \to \gamma\gamma$ and the decay lifetime for $\chi \to \gamma\nu$, both at 95% confidence level, have been calculated and the systematic uncertainties have been taken into account. Comparing to the previous Fermi-LAT results, though DAMPE has an acceptance smaller by a factor of $\sim 10$, similar constraints on the DM parameters are achieved and below 100 GeV the lower limits on the decay lifetime are even stronger by a factor of a few. The cigarette beetle, Lasioderma serricorne (Fabricius) (Coleoptera: Anobiidae), is a destructive stored product pest worldwide. Adult cigarette beetles are known to rely on host volatiles and pheromones to locate suitable habitats for oviposition and mating, respectively. However, little is known about the chemosensory mechanisms of these pests. Soluble chemoreception proteins are believed to initiate olfactory signal transduction in insects, which play important roles in host searching and mating behaviors. In this study, we sequenced the antennal transcriptome of L. serricorne and identified 14 odorant-binding proteins (OBPs), 5 chemosensory proteins (CSPs), and 2 Niemann-Pick C2 proteins (NPC2). Quantitative realtime PCR (qPCR) results revealed that several genes (LserOBP2, 3, 6, and 14) were predominantly expressed in females, which might be involved in specific functions in this gender. The five LserOBPs (LserOBP1, 4, 8, 10, and 12) that were highly expressed in the male antennae might encode proteins involved in specific functions in males. These findings will contribute to a better understanding of the olfactory system in this stored product pest and will assist in the development of efficient and environmentally friendly strategies for controlling L. serricorne.

Traffic assignment has been recognized as one of the key technologies in supporting transportation planning and operations. To better address the perfectly rational issue of the expected utility theory (EUT) and the overlapping path issue of the multinomial logit (MNL) model that are involved in the traffic assignment process, this paper proposes a cumulative prospect value (CPV)-based generalized nested logit (GNL) stochastic user equilibrium (SUE) model. The proposed model uses CPV to replace the utility value as the path performance within the GNL model framework. An equivalent mathematical model is provided for the proposed CPV-based GNL SUE model, which is solved by the method of successive averages (MSA). The existence and equivalence of the solution are also proved for the equivalent model. To demonstrate the performance of the proposed CPV-based GNL SUE model, three road networks are selected in the empirical test. The results show that the proposed model can jointly deal with the perfectly rational issue and the overlapping path issue, and additionally, the proposed model is shown to be applicable for large road networks.

The purpose of this study was to examine the sedimentary facies characteristics of lower Cambrian Niutitang Formation (∈1n) in South China, to reveal the mechanism of organic matter enrichment, and to guide exploration of shale gas. Macro investigation and experimental analyses were used to assess the lithology in detail, total organic matter mass fraction w(TOC), mineral composition, and trace element characteristics of ∈1n. The influencing factors of organic matter enrichment were discussed extensively, and a sedimentary facies mode was suggested. In the early stage of ∈1n, the locations of Well E’yangye 1, Well Ciye 1, Well Changye 1, and Well Anye 1 respectively develop, platform inner sag, outer shelf, Jiangnan slope belt, and South China detention basin. In the late stage of ∈1n, the sedimentary facies evolve with decreasing sea level. The study area presents a complete three-step basin in the Early Cambrian. In the early stage of ∈1n, the first step is the Yangtze carbonate platform, the second step is the outer shelf and slope, and the third step is the deep-water basin. From the Yangtze carbonate platform to the deep-water basin, w(TOC) and the mass fraction of quartz gradually increase, the mass fraction of carbonate mineral decreases, and the mass fraction of clay mineral is higher in the second step. The sea level fluctuation results in a higher w(TOC) vertically in the lower ∈1n shale, and the paleogeographic (provenance) conditions lead to better horizontal development of organic matter in the outer shelf, slope and detention basin. Trace elements are abundant in the lower ∈1n, and w(TOC) is correlated positively with many trace elements. In the outer shelf, slope, and adjacent areas, hydrothermal activity and upwelling current bring nutrient-rich material and promote organic matter enrichment under a strong reducing condition. Deep-shelf, slope and deep-water basin are the best facies for the formation and preservation of organic matter, especially deep-water basin facies. It remains necessary to strengthen the exploration of shale gas in the deep-water basin of ∈1n in central Hunan, China.

Blueberry is an important agricultural crop with high nutritional, health, and economic value. Despite the well‐studied blueberry cultivation methods and soil requirements, little is known about how beneficial bacteria function in organic blueberry cultivation systems and their effects on acidic soils. In this study, a single bacteria Bacillus amyloliquefaciens JC65 and three biocontrol bacteria consortiums containing JC65 were applied to organic system. The effect of bacteria to blueberry growth, yield, fruit quality, and soil quality was investigated. A consortium of three mixed Bacillus (B. amyloliquefaciens JC65, B. licheniforims HS10 and B. subtilis 7ze3) showed the highest growth improvement efficiency. The bacterial inoculation increased blueberry leaf chlorophyll content, net photosynthetic rate by 21.50%, 13.21% at 30 days, and increased average plant height by 2.72% at 69 days. Compared with the control, the inoculated plants showed an increased yield of 14.56%. Interestingly, blueberry fruit quality was also improved with supplement of the bacterial consortium. Fruit anthocyanin, soluble sugar, vitamin C, soluble solids, and soluble protein content were increased by 5.99%, 4.21%, 17.31%, 2.41%, and 21.65%, respectively. Besides, beneficial bacterial consortium also enables sustainable agriculture by improving soil ammonium nitrogen and organic matter by 3.77% and 2.96% after blueberry planting. In conclusion, the combination of beneficial bacteria showed a synergistic activity in organic system to promote the blueberry yield, fruit quality, and soil nutrient preservation., We conclude that addition of beneficial microbe in organic blueberry production significantly promotes plant growth and improves blueberry fruit quality. Interestingly, by combination of different beneficial microorganism, the promotion effect on blueberry production was enhanced significantly, indicating synergistic activity among specific mixture of bacteria. The soil retention ability of the beneficial microbe is also shown, especially for increase of soil organic matter.

Small RNAs play an important role in plant innate immunity. However, their regulatory function in induced systemic resistance (ISR) triggered by plant growth‐promoting rhizobacteria remains unclear. Here, using Arabidopsis as a model system, one plant endogenous small RNA, miR472, was identified as an important regulator involved in the process of Bacillus cereus AR156 ISR against Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato (Pst) DC3000. The results revealed that miR472 was down‐regulated with B. cereus AR156 treatment by comparing small RNA profiles and northern blot analysis of Arabidopsis with or without B. cereus AR156 treatment. Plants overexpressing miR472 showed higher susceptibility to Pst DC3000; by contrast, plant lines with miR472 knocked down/out showed the opposite. The transcriptome sequencing revealed thousands of differentially expressed genes in the transgenic plants. Target prediction showed that miR472 targets lots of coiled coil nucleotide‐binding site (NBS) and leucine‐rich repeat (LRR) type resistance genes and the expression of these targets was negatively correlated with the expression of miR472. In addition, transgenic plants with knocked‐out target genes exhibited decreased resistance to Pst DC3000 invasion. Quantitative reverse transcription PCR results indicated that target genes of miR472 were expressed during the process of B. cereus AR156‐triggered ISR. Taken together, our results demonstrate that the miR472‐mediated silencing pathway is an important regulatory checkpoint occurring via post‐transcriptional control of NBS‐LRR genes during B. cereus AR156‐triggered ISR in Arabidopsis., The plant miR472‐mediated silencing pathway is an important regulatory checkpoint occurring via post‐transcriptional control of nucleotide‐binding site and leucine‐rich repeat genes during Bacillus cereus AR156‐triggered induced systemic resistance in Arabidopsis.

To investigate the application of suprapubic lipectomy with a "Ω" incision to removal of the prepubic fat pad for the management of buried penis in obese adult patients.We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data on 20 obese adult patients with buried penis treated by suprapubic lipectomy via a "Ω" incision between August 2016 and September 2019.The operations were successfully completed in all the cases, with a mean operation time of 3.7 ± 0.6 hours and an average hospital stay of 8.3 ± 3.3 days. There were no such severe surgery-related complications as hematoma, urethral injury, or fat embolism in any of the cases. Fat liquefaction-related superficial wound infection developed in 1 patient postoperatively, which was cured by combined topical and systemic antibiotic therapy. A 3-month follow-up showed a 95% satisfaction of the patients with the postoperative appearance of the penis and suprapubic incision, but no complications such as ED, abnormal penile sensation, or penile retraction.Suprapubic lipectomy with a "Ω" incision to remove the prepubic fat pad is an effective surgical approach to the management of buried penis in obese adult males, which is an anatomy-based surgical correction and has the advantages of slight injury, rapid recovery and few complications./.

Plant defense and growth rely on multiple transcriptional factors (TFs). REPRESSION OF SHOOT GROWTH (RSG) is known as one of the important TFs in tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) with a basic leucine zipper domain. RSG was involved in plant gibberellin feedback regulation by inducing the expression of key genes. The tobacco calcium-dependent protein kinase, CDPK1 was reported to interact with RSG and manipulate its intracellular localization by phosphorylating Ser-114 of RSG. Here, we identified tobacco mitogen-activated protein kinase 3 (NtMPK3) as a RSG interacted protein kinase. Mutation of predicted MAPK-associated phosphorylation site of RSG (Thr-30, Ser-74 and Thr-135) significantly altered the intracellular localization of NtMPK3-RSG interaction complex. Nuclear transport of RSG and its amino acids mutants (T30A and S74A) were observed after treated with plant defense elicitor peptide flg22 in 5 min, while the two mutated RSG swiftly relocalized in tobacco cytoplasm in 30 min. Moreover, triple points mutation of RSG (T30A/S74A/T135A) mimics constant unphosphorylated status, and predominantly localized in tobacco cytoplasm. RSG (T30A/S74A/T135A) showed no relocalization effect under the treatments of either flg22, B. cereus AR156 or GA3, and was impaired in its role as TFs. Our results suggest that MAPK associated phosphorylation sites of RSG regulate its localization in tobacco and constant unphosphorylation of RSG in Thr-30, Ser-74 and Thr-135 keeps RSG predominantly localized in cytoplasm.

Application of plant growth‐promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) has been considered as an environmentally friendly method for crop yield promotion as well as plant disease management. Efforts have been devoted to unraveling mechanisms involved in bacteria–plant and bacteria–pathogen interactions. However, little is known on the effect of the interaction among PGPR, soil, and plant. We compared growth and yield promotion capacity of biofertilizer Ning Shield, a consortium of bacterial preparation used as a biofertilizer (BF), and its mixture with compost of agricultural waste including spent substrate of Pleurotus ostreatus (SSP)/Volvariella volvacea (SSV), chicken manure (CM), and inorganic fertilizer (IOF) in a pepper field, respectively. The disease control efficacy, pepper fruit preservation time, and nutrients were also determined. Soil nutrient parameters including organic matter and available NPK of treatments were assayed before and after one growth season. All of the mixture of BF+organic compost treatment significantly enhanced the yield and quality of pepper fruit. Moreover, disease control capacity was promoted by the mixture of BF+organic compost, with BF+SSV reaching the highest control efficacy of 81% on 60th day after transplanting, and remaining 76% at the 105ᵗʰ day. The BF+SSV treatment showed soil fertility retention ability with higher soil nutrient contents after one growth season of pepper. This study provides evidence that, when combined with organic fertilizers such as spent mushroom substrate compost, beneficial microbes have the ability to promote plant growth and yield as well as suppress plant disease by sustaining soil fertility through complex bacteria–soil–plant interaction.

The DArk Matter Particle Explorer (DAMPE) is a satellite-borne experiment, in operation since 2015, aimed at studying high-energy gamma rays and cosmic nuclei fluxes. Of the various sub-detectors in the DAMPE payload, the Silicon-Tungsten tracKer-converter (STK) plays a significant role in the charge measurement of incoming ions. Depending on the angle of inclination of the impinging particle and its position of impact on these strips, the collected charge can spread between the strips which results in some fractional signal loss. The $\eta$ variable is used to identify this spread of charge across the strips and correct for the associated charge loss. This brings us closer to accurate determination of particle charge which is crucial for ensuring a good discrimination between particles. The $\eta$-correction is, therefore, expected to play an important role in the determination of heavy ions by the DAMPE detector. It has helped reduce the proton background for the helium identification in STK by a factor of 1.5 for MIP tracks. It has been sucessfully applied to carbon nuclei and its application to heavier nuclei is currently being studied.

Since its launch, in December 2015, the satellite-based DAMPE (DArk Matter Particle Explorer) particle detector is taking data smoothly. The Silicon-Tungsten tracKer-converter (STK) of DAMPE consists of six tracking planes (6x, 6y) of single-sided silicon micro-strip detectors mounted on seven support trays. The STK is able to measure the charge and precisely reconstruct the track of traversing charged particles. Tungsten plates (1 mm thick) are integrated in the second, third and fourth tray from the top to serve as $\gamma \rightarrow e^+e^−$ converters. Commissioned rapidly after the launch, the STK is running extremely well since then. The STK in-orbit calibration and performance during its first more than 5 years of operation, including the noise behaviour and the thermal and mechanical stability, are presented in this contribution.

The DArk Matter Particle Explorer (DAMPE) is the first Chinese cosmic-ray direct detection experiment. It has been operating smoothly on-orbit since its successful launch at the end of 2015. Currently, its sub-detectors and the satellite are in good working order. The DAMPE payload employs a BGO Calorimeter for energy measurements, trigger and e/p identification. The calorimeter is constructed of 308 BGO crystals, and PMTs are coupled to the crystals with optical filters to readout scintillation light. In this work, we present the status and performance of the calorimeter, including status of detector units, energy measurement, especially in TeV range, detector endurance, and long term performance in a duration of 65 months.

The Fermi bubbles are two large structures above and below the Galactic Plane. They are first discovered by Fermi-LAT and thought to be related to the jet or the wind from the Galactic center. The DArk Matter Particle Explorer (DAMPE) is a space-borne high energy particle telescope aiming at measuring cosmic rays and photons in a broad energy range. In this work, we use 4.8 years of DAMPE photon data to search for the emission from the Fermi Bubbles. We calculate the TS values of the lobes and the significance of its curved spectrum. The obtained spectral parameters are then compared with those from the Fermi-LAT. We also search for the emission from the cocoon in the southeast part of lobes. Since the Galactic diffuse emission (GDE) model is a major source of systematic uncertainty, we also switch to the GDE models calculated with Galprop and evaluate the influence.

The DArk Matter Particle Explorer (DAMPE), a space-based high energy particle detector, has been operated on-orbit for more than five years. The large geometric factor and good charge resolution enable DAMPE to have very good potential to measure cosmic-rays up to 100 TeV. Knowledge of the boron to carbon (B/C) flux ratio is very important in understanding the prop- agation of cosmic rays, especially in TeV energy range. In this contribution, the latest progress of the B/C flux ratio analysis based on the flight data collected by DAMPE during the 5 years of operation, is presented.

Silicon microstrip detectors are widely used in experiments for space astronomy. Before the detector is assembled, extensive characterization of the silicon microstrip sensors is indispensable and challenging. This work electrically evaluates a series of sensor parameters, including the depletion voltage, bias resistance, metal strip resistance, total leakage current, strip leakage current, coupling capacitance, and interstrip capacitance. Two methods are used to accurately measure the strip leakage current, and the test results match each other well. In measuring the coupling capacitance, we extract the correct value based on a SPICE model and two-port network analysis. In addition, the expression of the measured bias resistance is deduced based on the SPICE model.

To present 12 cases of arterial priapism treated by superselective embolization and propose our management algorithm for this condition. Between February 2013 and May 2018, 12 cases of arterial priapism caused by blunt trauma were treated by superselective embolization. The mean age of patients was 36 years (25–47 years). All of the patients had normal sexual capability before priapism (IIEF-5 scores 24–25). All patients were treated with superselective embolization after more than 3 weeks of simple conservative treatment had failed. All cases but one used a gelatin sponge as embolic agent. A microcoil was added in one case in which the gelatin sponge failed to occlude the pseudoaneurysm. After superselective embolization, ice pack and “observation” treatments continued. The sexual capability of the patients was evaluated by IIEF-5 scores at 6 months and 12 months postoperatively. The mean follow-up period was 27.2 months (13–48 months). Three patients achieved complete detumescence immediately. Nine cases needed 2–17 days to return to a flaccid nonpainful state. No patient underwent a second embolization. The time needed to improve erectile function was from 7 days to 4 months. There has been no recurrence. Eleven patients treated with gelatin sponge have normal erectile function, while one patient treated with additional microcoil embolization had mild erectile dysfunction. Superselective embolization of the fistula is an effective option for arterial priapism. Absorbable agents should be used. Superselective arterial embolization should be considered after 3 weeks of conservative treatment. Patients should undergo another 3 weeks of “observation” treatment before repeated intervention.

The volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted by plant rhizobacteria play a significant role in the promotion of plant growth. However, it is unclear how VOCs play a role in plant growth and which component participates in this process. In this study, we assessed the effect of the VOCs emitted by Bacillus sp. JC03 on the promotion of plant growth and identified the overall functional mechanism. The results indicated that the VOCs produced by JC03 could significantly promote the biomass accumulation of Arabidopsis and tomato. Furthermore, an analysis of Arabidopsis mutants perturbations in hormone production and signaling, in conjunction with analyses of hormone contents and gene expression levels, indicated that auxin and strigolactone played essential roles in the promotion of plant growth induced by the VOCs produced by JC03. The results showed that the ARF1 and CCD7 genes were significantly upregulated in the Arabidopsis seedlings exposed to the VOCs emitted by JC03 and the results of the endogenous hormone levels detection experiment reached the same conclusion. Furthermore, the VOC-induced phenotype was reduced or, even lost in the ARF1, and CCD7 mutant lines, while the phenotype remained in A. thaliana ecotype Col-0 seedlings and in other mutants, such as etr1, OST1 and gai1. Finally, GC-MS analysis results positively identified the compounds released from JC03, including 3-hydroxy-2-butanone, 1, 3-propanediol, 2-methyl-dipropanoate, tetrahydrofuran-3-ol, 2-heptanone, 2-ethyl-1-hexanol. Only tetrahydrofuran-3-ol, 2-heptanone and 2-ethyl-1-hexanol, at different concentrations, significantly promoted the growth of the Arabidopsis seedlings. In this study, we first demonstrated that the VOCs emitted by JC03 promoted plant growth through the action of auxin and strigolactone, and identified several new compounds, tetrahydrofuran-3-ol, 2-heptanone and 2-ethyl-1-hexanol, that could promote plant growth. The important achievement of our study is the further elucidation of the interacting mechanisms related to plant responses to the VOCs emitted by microbes.

Plant gray mold disease caused by necrotrophic pathogen Botrytis cinerea, has been a serious threat to many important crops. It is urgent and necessary to seek an effective and environmentally friendly control strategy to control grey mold disease during the crop production. Moreover, it is also urgently needed to clear understand how the strategy works. To screening an efficient biocontrol agent in control of gray mold disease caused by B. cinerea, one hundred strains, which have the potential in controlling plant diseases, were selected from our laboratory’s strain library, and employed to our research. The results in the study indicated that Bacillus velezensis could act as a potential and efficient biocontrol agent (BCA), and two B. velezensis strains 5YN8 and DSN012 were screened out with high antagonistic and hydrolase activity, which could significantly control pepper gray mold disease and promote the pepper growth. Further deeply study on biocontrol mechanism indicated that B. velezensis could suppress the growth and spore formation of B. cinerea by secreting some secondary metabolites or releasing numbers of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). In the other hand, we also found that B. velezensis could trigger plant basal immunity. The BCA could increase the expression of SA signal markers and plant defense related genes. It was able to induce hydrogen peroxide accumulation and plant related enzyme activities in leaves of pepper as well. This study provides another high-efficiency, and potential strategies for the biological control of gray mold disease. It is the first report of B. velezensis strain which can control gray mold disease, In addition, it is also the first to comprehensively illustrate how the strains can efficiently protect pepper from B. cinerea attacking.

Helix represents the most essential molecular chiral symmetry at a supramolecular level. Here, a unique quasiracemate conglomerate {[Cd(L)I(H2O)3][Cd(HL)I2(H2O)2](H2O)4}n (1, HL = N-(3,5-di(pyridin-3-yl)-4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-yl)nicotinamide), which crystallizes in P21 space group and consists of two different sets of helical enantiomers, has been successfully constructed. Remarkably, crystal transformations from the chiral quasiracemate 1 to two different achiral racemates {[Cd(L)I(H2O)3]·(H2O)3}n (2) and {[Cd(HL)I2(H2O)2](H2O)}n (3) can be achieved controllably by introducing acid and base additives, via solvent-mediated crystal transformations.

ATP-dependent proteases play essential roles in both protein quality control and the regulation of protein activities in bacteria. ClpYQ (also known as HslVU) is one of several highly conserved ATP-dependent proteases in bacteria. The regulation and biological function of ClpYQ have been well studied in Gram-negative bacteria, but are poorly understood in Gram-positive species. In this study, we showed that in the Gram-positive bacterium Bacillus subtilis, the ΔclpYQ deletion mutant formed early and robust biofilms, while swarming motility was severely impaired. Colonies of the ΔclpYQ mutant were also much less mucoid on agar plates, indicating the loss of the production of secreted γ-poly-dl-glutamic acid (γ-PGA). Global proteomic analysis using isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantification (iTRAQ) confirmed that a number of proteins involved in motility, chemotaxis and the production of γ-PGA were less abundant in the ΔclpYQ mutant. The results from both iTRAQ and Western immunoblotting showed that levels of the biofilm master repressor SinR were modestly reduced in the ΔclpYQ mutant, but probably significantly enough to alter biofilm regulation due to the ultrasensitivity of the expression of biofilm genes to SinR protein levels. Western immunoblotting also showed that the abundance of CodY, whose gene is clustered with clpYQ in the same operon, was not impacted on by ΔclpYQ. Lastly, our results suggested that, unlike in Escherichia coli, ClpYQ does not play an essential role in heat-shock response in both B. subtilis and Bacillus cereus. In conclusion, we propose that the ClpYQ protease is primarily involved in multicellular development in B. subtilis.
