This cohort study sought to investigate the effects of phthalates exposure during pregnancy on offspring asthma and its association with placental stress and inflammatory factor mRNA expression levels. A total of 3474 pregnant women from the China Ma'anshan birth cohort participated in this study. Seven phthalate metabolites were detected in urine samples during pregnancy by solid phase extraction-high-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry. Placenta stress and inflammation mRNA expression were assessed by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). Early pregnancy may be the critical period when phthalates exposure increases the risk of asthma in infants and young children, and there is a certain gender difference in the risk of asthma in infants and young children. Moreover, through the placenta stress and inflammatory factor associated with infant asthma found anti-inflammatory factor of interleukin-10 (IL-10) mRNA expression will reduce the risk of 36-month-old male infant asthma. The expression of interleukin-4(IL-4) and macrophage (M2) biomarker cluster of differentiation 206(CD206) mRNA reduced the risk of asthma in 18-month-old female infants. Placental stress and inflammatory response were analyzed using mediating effects. Tumor necrosis factor-α (TNFα) showed a complete mediating effect between mono-benzyl phthalate (MBzP) exposure in early pregnancy and asthma in 12-month-old males, and IL-10 also showed a complete mediating effect between mono-n-butyl phthalate (MBP) exposure in early and late pregnancy and asthma in 36-month-old males. In summary, exposure to phthalates during pregnancy may contribute to the development of asthma in infants, which may be associated with placental stress and inflammation.

There is currently no consensus about the impact of prenatal phthalate exposure on blood pressure and glycolipids in children. Few studies consider the health effects as an integrated indicator. The combined effect of multiple phthalate exposures is often ignored. Based on the Ma'anshan Birth Cohort, 2298 woman-child pairs were included in this study. Maternal urine was collected in each trimester to analyze 6 phthalate metabolites. The overall cardiometabolic risk (CMR) score was calculated based on serum glycolipids and blood pressure for children aged 4-7 years. A higher score represents a less favorable CMR profile. The restricted cubic spline model was used to explore the relationship between prenatal phthalate exposure and childhood CMR score. Regulated cell death (RCD) is a universal process in living organisms that is essential for tissue homeostasis or to the restoration of biological equilibrium following stress. Ferroptosis is a specific nonapoptotic cell death that is dependent on iron and is very different from other forms of RCD. Ferroptosis can affect the development of liver diseases such as drug-induced liver injury (DILI), liver fibrosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) by regulating the level of intracellular iron, the production of intracellular reactive oxygen species, and lipid peroxides. In this review, we summarize the current knowledge of ferroptosis, in terms of discovery, history, characteristics, mechanism, and the factors regulating liver diseases. We discuss how these factors and signaling pathways change in the context of liver disease. Furthermore, we focus on delineating the roles of effective therapeutic drugs or compounds in liver disease. In summary, we discuss the role of ferroptosis in liver disease, providing a strategy and new ideas for preventing liver disease, finding new therapeutic targets, and reducing liver damage.

Phthalates are a kind of synthetic plasticizers, which extensively used as plastic productions to improve their plasticity and flexibility. However, exposure to phthalates has been proved an increased risk of respiratory disease, because by they affect the development and functions of the lung and immune system. Here, we attempt to review respiratory health of phthalate exposure. Firstly, we describe the relationship between phthalates and lung function and airway inflammation. Then, the role of phthalates in asthma, lung cancer, rhinitis, and respiratory tract infections and the possible mechanisms of action are discussed. Finally, possible effective measures to reduce exposure to phthalates are proposed, and health care workers are called upon to provide educational resources and advocate for informed public health policies. Overall, the evidence for association between phthalate exposure and respiratory disease is weak and inconsistent. Therefore, thorough implementation in large populations is needed to produce more consistent and robust results and to enhance the overall understanding of the potential respiratory health risks of phthalate in long-term exposure.

Prenatal phthalate exposure has been associated with placental inflammatory factors and infant allergic rhinitis (AR). However, the results are inconclusive. We designed a population-based cohort study to examine the effects of placental inflammatory biomarkers on the sex-dependent associations between maternal phthalate exposure and infant AR.A total of 2,348 pregnant women from Ma'anshan, Anhui Province, China, who were screened before antenatal visits and met the inclusion criteria, were included in the present study. We assessed AR in their offspring aged 36 months with a questionnaire. Quantitative PCR was performed to measure placental inflammatory factor mRNAs. The independent samplesChildhood AR may be related to education and family monthly income (The associations of maternal MEHHP and MEOHP levels with fetal AR in males were significant. Placental HO-1 was a fractional mediator in the associations between MEHHP and AR. Thus, the placenta should be further investigated as a potential mediator of maternal exposure-induced disease risk in children.

Previous epidemiologic research has shown that phthalate exposure in pregnant women is related to birth outcomes in a sex-specific manner. These outcomes may be mediated by placental inflammation, which is the proposed biological mechanism. This is the first study to address the relationship between phthalate exposure and gene expression in placental inflammation in a sex-specific manner. We performed quantitative PCR to measure placental inflammatory mRNAs (CRP, TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, IL-10, MCP-1, IL-8, CD68, and CD206) in 2469 placentae that were sampled at birth. We estimated the associations between mRNA and urinary phthalate monoesters using multiple linear regression models. Mono-n-butyl phthalate (MBP) was correlated with higher IL-1β, IL-6, and CRP expression in placentae of male fetuses and with higher IL-6, CRP, MCP-1, IL-8, IL-10, and CD68 expression in placentae of female fetuses. Mono benzyl phthalate (MBzP) increased the expression of TNF-α, MCP-1, and CD68 only in placentae of male fetuses. Mono (2-ethyl-5-oxohexyl) phthalate (MEOHP) was negatively correlated with CRP, MCP-1, and CD68 in placentae of female fetuses. Maternal phthalate exposure was associated with inflammatory variations in placental tissues. The associations were stronger in placentae of male than of female fetuses. Compared with the other metabolites, MBP plays a strong role in these associations. The placenta is worth being further investigated as a potential mediator of maternal exposure-induced disease risk in children.

Hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) play an important role in the initiation and development of liver fibrogenesis, and abnormal glucose metabolism is increasingly being considered a crucial factor controlling phenotypic transformation in HSCs. However, the role of the factors affecting glycolysis in HSCs in the experimental models of liver fibrosis has not been completely elucidated. In this study, we showed that glycolysis was significantly enhanced, while the expression of brain and muscle arnt-like protein-1 (Bmal1) was downregulated in fibrotic liver tissues of mice, primary HSCs, and transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1)-induced LX2 cells. Overexpression of Bmal1 in TGF-β1-induced LX2 cells blocked glycolysis and inhibited the proliferation and phenotypic transformation of activated HSCs. We further confirmed the protective effect of Bmal1 in liver fibrosis by overexpressing Bmal1 from hepatic adeno-associated virus 8 in mice. In addition, we also showed that the regulation of glycolysis by Bmal1 is mediated by the isocitrate dehydrogenase 1/α-ketoglutarate (IDH1/α-KG) pathway. Collectively, our results indicated that a novel Bmal1-IDH1/α-KG axis may be involved in regulating glycolysis of activated HSCs and might hence be used as a therapeutic target for alleviating liver fibrosis.

Electrostatic deflection of electrons by a pair of charged metal plates was studied over a range of electron kinetic energies. This was achieved using an electron gun in a cathode-ray tube assembly powered by a variable high-voltage controller. A deflection voltage was applied across charged symmetrical metal plates to deflect an electron beam vertically, and tracked on the phosphor screen of the cathode-ray tube. The deflection plates were shaped to allow maximum deflection: the beginning half of each was parallel, while the end portion was tapered. Our experimental results confirmed a universal scaling relationship between the electron deflection, as measured by the deflection tangent, and the voltage ratio of deflection versus acceleration, within 2% uncertainty over the range of accelerating voltage between 248 V and 527 V. A proper geometric ratio of plate length over its separation was 3.41 which by conventional analysis without considering the fringe field, served as a scaling factor for beam deflection versus the voltage ratio of deflection and accelerating biases. Our study demonstrated that fringe fields contribute considerably to the electron beam deflection, both prior to and after it going through the charged region. By considering the effects of the fringe fields, our model analysis revealed that fringe fields contribute up to 20% of the electron deflection, accounting for experimental results within 2%.

The disorder of bile acid metabolism is a common feature during pregnancy, which leads to adverse birth outcomes and maternal damage effects. However, the cause and therapy about the disorder of bile acid metabolism are still poor. Microbial infection often occurs in pregnant women, which can induce the disorder of bile acid metabolism in adult mice. Here, this study observed the acute effect of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) on maternal bile acid of pregnant mice at gestational day 17 and the protective effect of obeticholic acid (OCA) pretreatment, a potent agonist of bile acid receptor farnesoid X receptor (FXR). The results showed LPS significantly increased the level of maternal serum and disordered bile acids components of maternal serum and liver, which were ameliorated by OCA pretreatment with obviously reducing the contents of CA, TCA, DCA, TCDCA, CDCA, GCA and TDCA in maternal serum and DCA, TCA, TDCA, TUDCA, CDCA and TCDCA in maternal liver. Furthermore, we investigated the effects of OCA on LPS-disrupted bile acid metabolism in maternal liver. LPS disrupted maternal bile acid profile by decreasing transport and metabolism with hepatic tight junctions of bile acid in pregnant mice. OCA obviously increased the protein level of nuclear FXR and regulated its target genes involving in the metabolism of bile acid, which was characterized by the lower expression of bile acid synthase CYP7A1, the higher expression of CYP3A and the higher mRNA level of transporter Mdr1a/b. This study provided the evidences that LPS disrupted bile acid metabolism in the late stage of pregnant mice and OCA pretreatment played the protective role on it by activating FXR.

The aim of this study was to explore the impact of prenatal Al and Mg on placental oxidative stress and inflammatory mRNA expression. A total of 2519 pregnant women from the China Ma'anshan birth cohort participated in this study. Al and Mg levels were measured by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Placental stress and inflammatory mRNA expression were assessed by RT-PCR. The median Al levels in the first and second trimesters of pregnancy and in cord blood were higher than the corresponding median Mg levels. Predictors of lower Al and Mg levels included Han ethnicity and high education according to a mixed linear model. Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that Al and Al/Mg levels had a positive association with inflammatory mRNA expression and placental oxidative stress in the second trimester of pregnancy. A negative association existed between Al and Al/Mg levels and inflammatory mRNA expression and placenta oxidative stress in the cord blood, with the exception of IL-1β expression. In conclusion, prenatal Al and Mg status was associated with placental oxidative stress and inflammatory mRNA expression. More preclinical studies are needed to confirm the relevant mechanism.

Phthalates, a class of widely used endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs), are toxic to various organ systems in animals and humans. Intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP) is a reversible liver dysfunction causing cholestasis in late pregnancy. Evidence on the associations between exposure to phthalates and ICP is still lacking. In the present study, we investigated the relationships between urinary concentrations of phthalate metabolites and the risk of ICP in a Chinese population-based birth cohort. Pregnant women participated in the Ma’anshan Birth Cohort (MABC) study in China. Seven phthalate metabolites were detected in a urine sample in early pregnancy. Chemical concentrations were grouped by quartiles, and associations with outcomes were examined using logistic regression with adjustment for urine creatinine, race, education, poverty status, smoking status, alcohol consumption, maternal age, prepregnancy body mass index (BMI), parity, twin pregnancy, and pregnancy-related liver complications. Of 3474 women recruited into the Ma’anshan Birth Cohort, 2760 met the inclusion criteria and contributed to further analysis and biomonitoring data. Elevated odds ratios (ORs) of ICP were observed in the highest quartiles of monomethyl phthalate (MMP) exposure (OR = 1.59, 95% confidence intervals (CI) = 1.01–2.51) and monobutyl phthalate (MBP) exposure (OR = 1.82, 95% CI = 1.16–2.85) in the adjusted analyses. Our findings add to the evidence that supports the role of maternal phthalate exposure in the first trimester of gestation as a risk factor for ICP.

The farnesoid X receptor (FXR) is a ligand-activated transcription factor that plays important roles in regulating bile acid homeostasis. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of obeticholic acid (OCA), a novel synthetic FXR agonist, carbon tetrachloride (CCl4)-induced acute liver injury. Mice were intraperitoneally injected with CCl4 (0.15ml/kg). In CCl4+OCA group, mice were orally with OCA (5mg/kg) 48, 24 and 1h before CCl4. As expected, hepatic FXR was activated by OCA. Interestingly, OCA pretreatment alleviated CCl4-induced elevation of serum ALT and hepatic necrosis. Moreover, OCA pretreatment inhibited CCl4-induced hepatocyte apoptosis. Additional experiment showed that OCA inhibits CCl4-induced hepatic chemokine gene Mcp-1, Mip-2 and Kc. Moreover, OCA inhibits CCl4-induced hepatic pro-inflammatory gene Tnf-α and Il-1β. By contrast, OCA pretreatment elevated hepatic anti-inflammatory gene Il-4. Further analysis showed that OCA pretreatment inhibited hepatic IκB phosphorylation and blocked nuclear translocation of NF-κB p65 and p50 subunits during CCl4-induced acute liver injury. In addition, OCA pretreatment inhibited hepatic Akt, ERK and p38 phosphorylation in CCl4-induced acute liver injury. These results suggest that OCA protects against CCl4-induced acute liver injury and inflammation. Synthetic FXR agonists may be effective antidotes for hepatic inflammation during acute liver injury.

Zr and its alloys have excellent mechanical properties as new structural material, but in specific application environment, its corrosion resistance still needs to be further explored. In this work, double glow plasma surface alloying technique was used for copperizing on pure Zr surface. Besides, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy dispersion spectrum (EDS) were employed to characterize the samples. Furthermore, research was also conducted on the polarization curve of the samples in different solutions. Copperizing on surface can improve corrosion resistance of pure Zr in 3.5 % NaCl and 0.5 mol·L−1 NaOH solutions. Especially in 0.5 mol·L−1 NaOH solution, the corrosion resistance can achieve significant improvement. However, copperizing has no influence on the improvement of corrosion resistance of pure Zr in 0.5 mol·L−1 H2SO4 solution. The results may provide new insight into way for improving the corrosion property of zirconium alloys.

Though some important progress in the excellent mechanical properties of zirconium alloys have been reported, their high surface hardness and good wear properties need to be explored further. In this work, a carburized layer was formed on the surface of commercially pure zirconium by a double glow plasma hydrogen-free carburizing technique. Commercial high-purity graphite was used as the carbon source material. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), Vickers hardness test, friction and wear test were used to characterize the samples carburized. The carburized layer could be clearly observed under a microscope. XRD patterns indicate that the zirconium carbide phase is formed in the carburized layer. The surface hardness of the sample increases significantly after carburization. Friction and wear tests results show that wear resistance and friction coefficient of zirconium are improved considerably after carburization. Surface plastic deformation is arrested to a low extent in contrast with pure zirconium because of the presence of ZrC phases during the wear test. The results may provide new insight into methods for surface strengthening of zirconium alloys. Many modes of stress (i.e. life events, catastrophic events) during pregnancy have been found to increase the risk of externalizing behaviors, and probably in a sex-specific way. Maternal immune activation may be the sex-difference mechanism, but direct evidence that assess three factors in conjunction -- maternal stress, maternal immune activation, and offspring neurodevelopment --from human beings is lacking. This prospective study followed 2926 pregnant women from early pregnancy to 36 months after delivery. Pregnancy-related anxiety symptoms assessment was completed three times using the Pregnancy-Related Anxiety Questionnaire; child attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) symptoms were assessed by the parent version of the Conners' Hyperactivity Index. More importantly, nine inflammatory cytokines were detected in placental tissues for the sex-difference mechanism investigation. Our results showed that after controlling for confounding factors, pregnancy-related anxiety during at least two trimesters of pregnancy increased the risk of ADHD for boys (adjusted odds ratio (aOR) = 3.37, 95 % confidence interval (95 % CI) = 1.78-6.38), but not for girls (aOR = 1.02, 95 %CI = 0.44-2.38), which confirmed previous findings. Besides, the structural equation models revealed that placental C-reactive protein (CRP) mRNA expression significantly mediated the association between pregnancy-related anxiety and ADHD for boys (indirect effect: β = 0.025, P = 0.022), but not for girls (indirect effect: β = 0.005, P = 0.589). This prospective study suggested that frequent pregnancy-related anxiety during pregnancy and its induced-placental inflammation partially contributed to the sex-bias of ADHD symptoms.

Objective To explore the role of Na+/H+ exchanger regulatory factor 1 (NHERF1) in autosomal-dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). Methods NHERF1 and β-catenin protein were detected by immunohistochemistry and Western blotting of kidney tissue samples from patients with ADPKD and controls (normal kidney tissue [>5 cm from the foci] collected from patients undergoing unilateral nephrectomy for kidney cancer). NHERF1 and β-catenin protein and mRNA were quantified by Western blot and real-time fluorescent quantitative polymerase chain reaction, respectively, in kidney tissue samples from Han:SPRD (+/+) and (cy/+) rats. The effects of human recombinant NHERF1 on proliferation and cell cycle of ADPKD cyst-lining epithelial cells (WT9–12) were evaluated by MTT assay and flow cytometry, respectively. Results Levels of NHERF1 protein and mRNA were significantly lower, and β-catenin levels significantly higher, in patients with ADPKD and Han:SPRD (cy/+) rats, compared with control subjects and (+/+) rats, respectively. Exogenous recombinant NHERF1 significantly inhibited proliferation of WT9–12 cells and increased the proportion of cells in G0/G1 phase. Conclusions ADPKD is associated with a decrease in NHERF1 protein and mRNA levels. Supplementing exogenous NHERF1 inhibited the proliferation of WT9–12 cells.

Flutter, a dynamic and severe self-excited vibration, easily produced in power ultrasonic honing, is one of the important factors, which affects the processing quality of the workpiece, the efficiency of the machine tool. Based on the study of power ultrasonic honing mechanism, choosing single abrasive and workpiece as research objects, respectively establishe the physical and mathematical coupled flutter model of power ultrasonic honing nonlinear system, with two degrees of freedom, determine the differential expression of the model, and simulate the boundry of flutter condition. It is proved flutter is produced in ultrasonic vibration honing, then the way is proposed to restrain. The study provide a theoretical basis for deeply seeking the strategy to repress and eliminate the flutter.

Background Caesarean delivery rate is increasing gradually in China and there is no doubt that delivery mode is closely associated with the maternal health and infant development.This study examined the independent effect of delivery mode on placenta inflammation response and oxidative stress response. Methods A total of 3474 pregnant women recruited in Ma’anshan Birth Cohort Study were the initial study population. Data on maternal socio-demographic characteristics and pre-pregnancy BMI were collected at their 1st antenatal checkups. Pregnancy-specific anxiety was assessed during the three trimesters of pregnancy. Common pregnant complications were monitored in the whole pregnancy period. Delivery modes, as well as newborn characteristics were abstracted from medical records. Delivery modes included vaginal deliveries (VD), caesarean delivery with medical indications (CDMI), caesarean delivery on maternal request (CDMR) and urgent cesarean delivery (UCD). Placentas were collected during childbirth. The mRNA expression of IL-1β, TNF-a, IL-6, IFN-γ, IL-4, IL-10, IL-8, and HO-1 were assessed in the final sample of 1978 low-risk women with singleton term-births. Results The overall rate of caesarean delivery (CD) was 50.5% (1650/3265) in singleton term childbirths in this study. Among women who reported definite CD reasons, 56.8%of them chose the surgery without any medical indications.It shows a non-linear relationship between cytokines related with placenta inflammatory response, oxidative stress response and different delivery modes. At high percentiles of IL-1β, IFN-γ and IL-8, women with CDMR had higher expression levels compared to women with VD. Women with CDMI had higher levels at median percentiles of IL-1β, IFN-γ and IL-8. Women with CDMR had higher expression compared with VD at high percentiles of IL-6 and HO-1, and women with CDMI had higher levels of these two cytokines at their low percentiles. It is worth noting that at high percentiles, compared with normal delivery, the expression of IL-1β, IFN-γ, IL-8 and HO-1 have significantly altered in women with CDMR. Conclusion A high overall CD rate was found in this study, and caesarean delivery on maternal request was the major contributor to the high prevalence. Maternal placental oxidative stress and inflammatory response were closely associated with delivery mode. The effect is much amplified at high levels of expression in women who chose CD on maternal request.Such difference needs to be noticed and may have important implications for obstetricians, midwives and other perinatal health care workers.

Liver disease is a primary cause of liver-related morbidity and mortality worldwide. Currently, histological examination is the gold standard for diagnosis and classification of liver disease; however, due to its several drawbacks, including the risk of complications and sampling variability, noninvasive diagnostic options are favorable. Exosomal miRNAs have recently been considered as an important source of medical biomarkers due to being widely distributed in body fluids. This review summarizes existing concepts related to the origin, mode of transportation and possible functions of exosomal miRNAs, and recent findings on the role of exosomal miRNAs in liver diseases and development of exosomal miRNA-based diagnostic biomarkers in the primary forms of liver diseases.

To overcome the shortcomings of realizing chaotic system by analog circuits, digital chaotic signal generation circuits based on DSP are designed. Computer simulation of chaotic system is performed firstly, and the discrete equations are obtained using discretization algorithm. On this basis, the design of hardware circuits based on DSP is made, and the corresponding C programs are constructed. Through the debugging of software and hardware, digital design of chaotic system based on DSP is achieved, and chaotic attractor is observed through an oscilloscope by digital-to-analog conversion circuit. The experimental results coincide with the simulation, proving the correctness of the design. The chaotic signal generation circuits can provide rich digital chaotic signals sources for the application of chaotic systems in engineering.

The pressure field induced by cavitaion bubble is responsible for the grinding mechanism and the cutting chatter of power ultrasonic honing. Based on the cavitation bubble dynamics model in the grinding area of power ultrasonic honing, the radiation pressure field of cavitation bubble was established. Experimental results show that the bubble is distributed in the grinding area like honeycomb and the size is about 10μm. Numerical simulation of dynamics and pressure field of cavitation bubble was performed. Numerical results show the dynamic behavior of cavitation bubble presents grow, expend and collapse under an acoustic cycle. However the expansion amplitude of bubble can be decreased and the collapse time can be extended and even collapse after several acoustic cycles with increasing ambient bubble radius. The bubble radiation pressure during collapsing bubble increases with increasing ultrasonic amplitude and ultrasonic frequency. And the pressure value of collapsing bubble is about 10Mpa which is more an order of magnitude than atmospheric pressure.

Two novel soluble chemosensors (L1, L2) modified by aza-crown ether groups have been synthesized by one-step facile reaction. The chemosensors were fully characterized by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and MS spectra. The recognition abilities of two sensors with a range of metal ions were evaluated. The results showed that L1 was a specialized sensor for Cu2+ and L2 was a multi-functional sensor being able to recognize Al3+ and Cr3+ via two different optical behaviors, which demonstrated the subtle structural changes of sensors can have a remarkable effect on recognizing metal ions.

The effect of modified atmosphere packaging for strawberry was discussed in this study. The best gas condition was explored to extend the shelf life of strawberry in refrigerated temperature. The 20μm PE film was used to build modified atmosphere packaging. The optimum gas condition for strawberrys modified atmosphere packaging was selected while concerned with the respiration rate, firmness, rot grade, vitamin C content, total soluble solids, titratable acidity, sensory evaluation and other quality indicators respectively. The results suggest that: In 60% O2 + 1.5% CO2 gas condition, it could be kept low rot grade, maintained the firmness, vitamin C content, total soluble solids, titratable acidity content, and sensory evaluation was not falling heavily. As the season in which strawberries were abundant was of high temperature, the effect of preservation was more apparent in 5±1°C. Modified atmosphere packaging discussed above could extend the strawberrys shelf life to 22 days.

In this paper, modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) film of fruit and vegetable was prepared through extrusion blow molding process.The LDPE was used as matrix resin and medical stone powder as the main filler. Stearic acid was added into film as a kind of surfactant. Effect of particle size, stearic acid proportion,filler amount and stretch pocessing on properties of MAP film was studied through measuring its oxygen and water vapor permeability,tensile strength as well as elongation ratio.Experimental investigation indicated that for preparing MAP film with high permeability, the controlled conditions such as 325 mesh medical stone powder, additive amount of 20 phr with stretch processing, stearic acid proportion of 2/10 were required.

The effect of rhubarb ethanol extracts (REE) and cinnamon essential oil (CEO) were used individually and in combination to maintain quality of fresh beef steaks stored for 18 days at 4±1°C was investigated. Beef characteristics, including pH, total viable counts (TVC), instrumental color (CIE a*), lipid oxidation (TBARS) and total volatile base nitrogen (TVB-N) were determined. The treatments significantly inhibited bacterial growth (p< 0.05) and maintained the pH, TVB-N, TBARS of beefsteaks and reduced instrumental color loss (p< 0.05). The results indicated that the treatments could efficiently maintain quality of fresh beef during storage and the combination of CEO and REE antimicrobial packaging had better application potential on fresh beef preservation.

Screen printing fluorescent security inks can be widely applied in the field of anti-counterfeiting packaging and printing special. Paper-based screen printing fluorescence security ink was prepared by europium polymer fluorescent material as fluorescent agent, alkyd resin etc as links, meanwhile various additives were added. The performance of europium polymer was studied by IR, UV spectra, fluorescence spectra, and fluorescent security performance of ink were studied by fluorescence spectrophotometer, the results showed that the fluorescence emission spectrum was narrow, and had a main peak at 612nm and high fluorescence efficiency, so this ink had good fluorescence security performance. The fineness,viscosity,stability etc printability of the ink were studied by fineness gauge, viscosity meter, the test result showed that the ink had good printability, can be applied in the security printing process of screen printing.

Rhubarb as a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine, but on its antibacterial effect with little research.In this paper, rhubarb is extracted by ethanol.By high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC),make sure the optimum extraction technology .Through The Times dilution method to determine the minimum bacteriostasis,three factors quadratic orthogonal method is used to determine the optimal mix proportion of rhubarb and cinnamon is 2:1,and its preservation test was carried out on the cool fresh beef, at 4°Csealing under the condition of cold storage shelf life by day 9 to 16 day.

The main objective was to develop a technique by high performance liquid chromatography to study migration of contamination from packaging material of three samples of paper cups with different properties. Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) and benzophenone (BP), which are the most commonly used in paper packaging material, are regarded as stimulant of contamination, alcohol is selected as food stimulant.The obtained data indicated that migration has a relationship with the type of contamination,concentration of food stimulant.Analysed by1stOptsoftware with experimental result, the rule of migration of DBP and BP can be studied.

The objectives of this study were to evaluate the antimicrobial efficacy of cinnamon essential oil (CEO) and rhubarb extract (REE) against 5 food-related microorganisms. The major active constituents of CEO were cinnamaldehyde (80.010%) and 2-methoxycinnamaldehyde (10.550%), and the major active constituents of REE were chrysophanic acid (54.950%) and physcion (13.270%). CEO and REE display strong inhibition against 5 strains. The checkerboard method was used to investigate the synergy antimicrobial potentiality of a combination of CEO and REE by analysis of the fractional inhibitory concentration index (FICI). The FICI was calculated and interpreted as synergy, addition, indifference, or antagonism. The combination showed additive efficacy against all tested microorganisms.

t can particularly generate abundant cavitation bubbles in the processing of the power ultrasonic honing. The dynamics of cavitation bubbles in the grinding area are very vital to study the machining mechanism and the cutting chatter of power ultrasonic honing. Based on the Rayleigh-Plesset equation, a new dynamics model of cavitation bubble is established, considering the velocity of ultrasonic honing and honing pressure. With the superposition principle of velocity potential, the dynamics of double cavitation bubble is also established. Moreover, the dynamic characteristics of cavitation bubble also can be simulated numerically. The results show that cavitation bubble in the grinding zone begins to grow extensively and then undergoes collapse, and even subsequent rebound and then. The variation trend of radius change of double cavitation bubble in the grinding area is more than that of single cavitation bubble by an order of magnitude.

Two novel soluble chemosensors based on Schiff-base diaminomaleonitrile derivatives which were modified by an aza-crown ether moiety have been synthesized. These chemosensors were fully characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, IR, DSC and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The recognition abilities of the sensors with a range of metal ions were evaluated and their photophysical properties have been systematically investigated. DFT theoretical calculations were employed to understand the behavior of the sensors toward the Cu(II). The sensing mechanism was derived through experimental and theoretical calculations. The results consistently indicated that the monoaza-10-crown-5 species was the ideal sensor, which can be utilized to monitor Cu(II) in solution over a wide pH range.

Amorphous Ni–P coating was plated on AZ31 magnesium alloy via the electroless plating technique, and the plated alloy was subsequently annealed. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) were used to characterize the coating. The results show that the hardness of the coating is much higher than that of bare magnesium alloy, which further increases after crystallization. The electrochemical polarization and salt spray tests show that the coating exhibits a much higher corrosion resistance than that of the bare magnesium alloy. Moreover, the crystallized coating still exhibits a much stronger corrosion resistance than that of the bare magnesium alloy, although its corrosion resistance is lower than that of the as-plated one.

Chatter easily occurs in machining, which is influenced by many factors. The power ultrasonic vibration honing equipment is taken as the research object. The dynamic friction is studied and the dynamics model is established based on the Stribeck model. The describing function of the ultrasonic honing friction characteristics is calculated. The stability of ultrasonic honing nonlinear system is analyzed. The conditions are studied, on which chatter occurs. The expressions of chatter amplitude and frequency are given. The research provides the theoretical basis on which chatter can be effectively avoided when ultrasonic honing equipment is designed.

The barrier properties of the cellulose packaging films are current concerns for the fields of fruits and vegetables fresh-keeping packaging. One such porous films commonly used the pore formers as hole-forming materials whereas the compatibility and dispersity were not better with the cellulose solutions. In this study, the porous cellulose packaging films were prepared with natural broad-leaved pulp and LiCl/DMAc with different types of coagulation baths. The effects of methanol, ethanol, isopropanol, LiCl/DMAc and deionized water coagulation baths on the physical structures, oxygen and water vapor permeabilities and mechanical properties of the films were measured. Based on the scanning electron microscpy (SEM) observation, the cross section was loose when used the alcohol coagulations, especially the films with ethanol coagulation showed dactylopores. It was also found that the oxygen permeability had obviously improving with the effect of ethanol, which compared with water vapor permeability of the films. The porous cellulose packaging films had better mechanical properties and up to 12.7MPa which would satisfy the usage in packaging.

A simple D-π-A type ligand (L: 4′-(4-[4-(1H-[1,2,4]-triazolyl)styryl]phenyl)-2,2′:6′,2″-terpyridine) was designed and synthesized, which reacted with HgX2 (X = Cl, Br, I, SCN) yielding a series of uncommon five-coordinated mercury (II) complexes (Dyes 1–4). The ligand and Dye 4 were characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction determination. Linear and nonlinear optical properties of the ligand and dyes were exhibited. Experimental results revealed that the two-photon absorption (TPA) cross-sections of the four dyes are considerably larger than that of the ligand. Density function theory (DFT) calculations performed on Dyes 1–4 showed that the halogens affect the accepting capability of the complexed metal due to different electron inductive effects, which finally influence the TPA cross-section values.

This work explored the use of microcapsules of natural plant essential oils to increase the shelf life of strawberries during storage. First, antimicrobial tests were performed with selected essential oils to evaluate their antimicrobial capacities against moulds isolated from strawberries. Oregano essential oil was found as strong bioactive agents against moulds from strawberries, whereas cinnamon essential oil had lower antimicrobial properties. Then, microcapsules of oregano essential oil were prepared with oregano essential oil, sodium alginate, Tween 80, and monoglycerides, and their internal structure were observed by SEM, and their oils contain were tested by UV-visible spectrophotometer inspection. Different amounts of microcapsules of oregano essential oil were wrapped into small polypropylene non-woven package, and they were pasted on the internal of corrugated boxes. Finally, freshly picked strawberries were put into corrugated boxes and stored at room temperature (from 16°C to 18°C) for 4 days. The results showed that the use of microcapsules of oregano essential oil could effectively inhibit the decay of strawberries, maintain their quality, and extend their shelf life. Strawberries presented the best quality when the amount of microcapsules arrived at 0.828 grams per 500 grams of strawberries.

Six novel organotin(IV) carboxylates have been successfully synthesized, namely, the polymer (C6H5)3Sn(L1)∞ (1) [HL1 = 4-imidazolyl benzoic acid], the mononuclear (C6H5)3Sn(L2) (2) [HL2 = 4-pyrazolylbenzoic acid], (C6H5)3Sn(L3)·CH3OH (3) [HL3 = 4-triazolylbenzoic acid] and (C6H5)3Sn(L4) (4) [HL4 = 4-tetrazolyl benzoic acid] and the tetranuclear [(n-Bu2Sn)4(L2)2O2(OCH3)2] (5) and [(n-Bu2Sn)4(L3)2O2(OCH3)2] (6). X-ray diffraction analyses show 1D infinite chain of polymer 1, single molecular structures of isomorphous complexes 2 and 4, single molecule structures of complex 3 containing solvent CH3OH molecule and similar ladder-type structures of complexes 5 and 6. The photoluminescence of ligands and 1–6 were also measured in the solid state at room temperature.

Quaternary europium complex EuxGd(1-x)(POA)(TTA)2Phen were synthesized by doping no-fluorescent inert ions Gd3+with ligands of POA, α-thenoyltrifluoroacetone (TTA), and o-phenanthroline(Phen).IR spectra was studied , indicate that these complexes have similar structures, have bonded with the ligands.The fluorescent properties,the influence of fluorescent property by doping ions Gd3+were studied. The results showed that the doping ions Gd3+can enhance the fluorescence intensities, the best mole ratio of europium to gadolinium is 6：4.
