Abstract: Precise direct cosmic-ray (CR) measurements provide an important probe to study the energetic particle sources in our Galaxy, and the interstellar environment through which these particles propagate. Uncertainties on hadronic models, ion-nucleon cross sections in particular, are currently the limiting factor towards obtaining more accurate CR ion flux measurements with calorimetric space-based experiments. We present an energy-dependent measurement of the inelastic cross section of protons and helium-4 nuclei (alpha particles) on a Bi$_4$Ge$_3$O$_{12}$ target, using 88 months of data collected by the DAMPE space mission. The kinetic energy range per nucleon of the measurement points ranges from 18 GeV to 9 TeV for protons, and from 5 GeV/n to 3 TeV/n for helium-4 nuclei. Our results lead to a significant improvement of the CR flux normalisation. 2. Spin response of neutron matter in ab initio approach

Abstract: We propose a general method embedded in the ab initio nuclear framework to reconstruct linear response functions and calculate sum rules. Within our approach, based on the Gaussian integral transform, we consistently treat the groundstate and the excited spectrum. Crucially, the method allows for a robust uncertainty estimation of the spectral reconstruction. We showcase it for the spin response in neutron matter. Our calculations are performed using state-of-the-art many-body coupled-cluster method and Hamiltonians derived in the chiral effective field theory, emphasizing the analysis of finite-size effects. This work serves as a stepping stone towards further studies of neutrino interactions in astrophysical environments from first principles.

3. Zero-sound modes for the nuclear equation of state at supra-normal densities

Abstract: The meaningful correlations between the zero-sound modes and the stiffness of the nuclear equation of state (EOS) are uncovered in nuclear matter with the relativistic mean-field theory. It is demonstrated that the high-density zero-sound modes merely exist in models with the stiff EOS. While the stiff EOS can be softened by including {\omega}-meson self-interactions (the {\omega}4 term), the weakened coupling of the {\omega}-meson self-interactions reignites the zero sound at high density. These results suggest that the high-density zero-sound modes can be used to probe the stiffness of the EOS at supra-normal densities. The implications and effects of zero sounds are also discussed in heavy ion collisions and neutron stars.

4. Non-Bloch-Siegert-type power-induced shift of two-photon electron paramagnetic resonances of charge-carrier spin states in an OLED

Abstract: We present Floquet theory-based predictions and electrically detected magnetic resonance (EDMR) experiments scrutinizing the nature of two-photon magnetic resonance shifts of charge-carrier spin states in the perdeuterated $\pi$-conjugated polymer poly[2-methoxy-5-(2'-ethylhexyloxy)-1,4-phenylene vinylene] (d-MEH-PPV) under strong magnetic resonant drive conditions (radiation amplitude $B_1$ ~ Zeeman field $B_0$). Numerical calculations show that the two-photon resonance shift with power is nearly drive-helicity independent. This is in contrast to the one-photon Bloch-Siegert shift that only occurs under non-circularly polarized strong drive conditions. We therefore treated the Floquet Hamiltonian analytically under arbitrary amplitudes of the co- and counter-rotating components of the radiation field to gain insight into the nature of the helicity dependence of multi-photon resonance shifts. In addition, we tested Floquet-theory predictions experimentally by comparing one-photon and two-photon charge-carrier spin resonance shifts observed through room-temperature EDMR experiments on d-MEH-PPV-based bipolar injection devices [i.e., organic light emitting diode structures (OLEDs)]. We found that under the experimental conditions of strong, linearly polarized drive, our observations consistently agree with theory, irrespective of the magnitude of $B_1$, and therefore underscore the robustness of Floquet theory in predicting nonlinear magnetic resonance behaviors., Comment: 22 pages, 5 figures

5. Fast generation of Schr\'odinger cat states in a Kerr-tunable superconducting resonator

Abstract: Schr\"odinger cat states, quantum superpositions of macroscopically distinct classical states, are an important resource for quantum communication, quantum metrology and quantum computation. Especially, cat states in a phase space protected against phase-flip errors can be used as a logical qubit. However, cat states, normally generated in three-dimensional cavities, are facing the challenges of scalability and controllability. Here, we present a novel strategy to generate and store cat states in a coplanar superconducting circuit by the fast modulation of Kerr nonlinearity. At the Kerr-free work point, our cat states are passively preserved due to the vanishing Kerr effect. We are able to prepare a 2-component cat state in our chip-based device with a fidelity reaching 89.1% under a 96 ns gate time. Data on demographic and clinical characteristics and Symptom Checklist-90 were collected. Exploratory factor analysis was performed to identify psychological symptom clusters. Univariate logistic regression analysis and multivariate logistic regression analysis were performed to explore influencing factors.Results: A total of 213 patients were recruited. The study found that the included participants scored higher on all SCL scales than the general Chinese females. The three most common were trouble remembering things (81.7%), feeling easily annoyed or irritated (81.2%), and feeling low in energy or slowed down (70.9%). Six symptom clusters were identified: paranoid ideation, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, interpersonal sensitivity, somatization, and sleep disorders. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that duration of infertility treatment (> 12 months) was identified as a risk factor for sleep disorder cluster (OR=2.833, 95% CI:1.355~5.922), adverse pregnancy history was identified as a risk factor for paranoid ideation cluster (OR=2.961,95% CI:1.406~6.253), depression cluster (OR=2.404,95% CI:1.240~4.660), and obsessive-compulsive cluster (OR=1.810, 95% CI:1.016~3.233), financial burden during treatment was identified as risk factors for all symptom clusters[(OR=5.869, 95% CI:1.717~20.057),(OR=6.490,95% CI:2.210~19.063),(OR=3.034,95% CI:1.560~5.898),(OR=7.078,95% CI:2.420~20.698),(OR=4.532,95% CI:1.845~10.397),(OR=2.151,95% CI:1.129~4.098)].Conclusion: Women undergoing ART experience various psychological symptoms that are interrelated and exist in the form of symptom clusters. More attention should be paid to the psychological status of patients with longer duration of infertility treatment, adverse pregnancy history, and financial burden during treatment. Moreover, there has been limited discussion on the effects of giving social support to others. Thus, this study investigates the impacts of social support given by disabled older adults to others on their own depressive symptoms, as well as the mediating role of receiving social support (both positive and negative aspects) and the moderating effect of the activity of daily living (ADL).Patients and Methods: This cross-sectional, community-based study was conducted in Wenzhou and Jiaxing City, China, from September 2021 to September 2022, with a total of 255 disabled older adults meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The data were collected face-to-face using a structured questionnaire. The participants were asked to complete the Barthel Index Scale, the Chinese version of the Positive and Negative Social Exchange Scale, the Giving Social Support questionnaire, and the Short Form Chinese Geriatric Depression Scale to measure disability, receiving positive and negative social support, giving social support, and depressive symptoms, respectively. Descriptive statistical analysis, correlation analysis, mediation effect tests, and moderation effect tests were used to analyse the questionnaire data.Results: The social support provided by disabled older adults to others primarily involved companionship and care. The positive aspect of social support received was largely emotional support, while the negative aspect was mainly characterised by failure to obtain help and unsympathetic behaviour. Providing social support was found to be associated with a potential beneficial effect on depressive symptoms, linked to lower severity, with this effect fully mediated by receiving social support. Specifically, receiving emotional support accounted for 56.63% of the effect size, while failure to obtain help and unsympathetic behaviour contributed 21.55%, and rejection and neglect collectively accounted for 21.83%. Additionally, the effect was partially moderated by ADL, with older adults exhibiting lower ADL scores showing a greater benefit from both giving and receiving social support compared to those with higher ADL scores.Conclusion: It is imperative to recognise and encourage disabled older adults to provide social support to others, especially emotional support, while reducing negative feedback, such as neglect and unnecessary blame. Original studies on non-invasive EEG in the elderly have been of great importance owing to the global aging trend. The present study aimed to provide a bibliometric overview on current status and trends in this research field.Methods: We searched the Web of Science Core Collection for articles published during 2014 and 2023. Synonyms for EEG and the elderly were combined as a retrieval strategy. Invasive EEG and secondary studies were excluded. Online filters and manual reviews were applied to select eligible articles. Basic bibliometric parameters were analyzed and visualized using VOSviewer and Excel software.Results: A total of 1656 publications were filtered, and 655 of which were finally included. In general, publication counts have steadily increased over the last 10 years. A sharp rise in publications occurred in 2021, and then remained at a high level. Authors and institutions from high-income countries/regions such as the United States of America (USA), China, and Germany were more productive and made significant contributions. Journals specialized in neuroscience, such as Frontiers in Aging Neuroscience, Neurobiology of Aging, and Clinical Neurophysiology, were popular among authors. Articles on aging, Alzheimer’s disease (AD), mild cognitive impairment (MCI), dementia, memory, event-related potentials, attention, and the brain were more likely to use EEG. The newer topics included anesthesia, postoperative delirium (POD), confusion assessment method, connectivity, validation, and power.Conclusion: This bibliometric study provides fundamental knowledge on the current status and hot spots of the original studies on EEG in elderly, which is beneficial to researchers in paving future investigations of neuroscience and neural diseases.Keywords: EEG, neuroscience, age-related changes, bibliometric analysis, VOSviewer

However, fewer than 5% of eligible individuals receive pulmonary rehabilitation, largely due to limited by the accessibility of rehabilitation and difficulties associated with travel and transport. Supervised home-based tele-rehabilitation (SHTR) is an alternative model to center-based pulmonary rehabilitation. We will determine whether supervised home-based tele-rehabilitation is non-inferior to center-based pulmonary rehabilitation.Methods: The participants will undergo an 8-week rehabilitation program. Pulmonary rehabilitation comprises four main modules: exercise training, education, nutritional support, and psychological and behavioral interventions. We mainly focus on the module of exercise training and education. The education module includes information on exercise training, nutrition, and psychology, which are presented in an educational booklet provided to each participant. Blinded assessors will evaluate the outcomes at baseline, post-intervention, and 6 months after the intervention. The primary outcome is the change in the 6-minute walking distance. Secondary outcomes will assess changes in the patients’ 1-minute sit-to-stand test, maximal inspiratory pressure (MIP), scales (CAT, mMRC, HAD), diaphragm ultrasound (TD, DE, DIF), changes in extrathoracic muscle volume and mass, completion rate of patient exercise prescriptions, occurrence of adverse events, as well as disease exacerbation and rehospitalization rates after rehabilitation and during the 6-month follow-up.Discussion: In order to improve the accessibility of pulmonary rehabilitation and patient-related outcomes, it is necessary to propose an alternative model of pulmonary rehabilitation. This trial will establish whether a supervised home-based tele-rehabilitation is not inferior to traditional center-based pulmonary rehabilitation.Trial Registration: Chinese Clinical Trial Registry ChiCTR2300076969. Targeting GIT1/β-Pix complex might be a potential therapeutic strategy for interfering cancer metastasis. However, at present, no well-recognized small-molecule inhibitor targeting GIT1/β-Pix is available. Thus, we aim to discover novel GIT1/β-Pix inhibitors with simple scaffold, high activity and low toxicity to develop new therapeutic strategies to restrain cancer metastasis.Methods: GIT1/β-Pix inhibitors were identified from ChemBridge by virtual screening. Briefly, the modeling of GIT1 was performed and the establishment of GIT1/β-Pix binding pocket enabled the virtual screening to identify the inhibitor. In addition, direct binding of the candidate molecules to GIT1 was detected by biolayer interferometry (BLI) to discover the hit compound. Furthermore, the inhibitory effect on invasion of stomach and colon cancer cells in vitro was carried out by the transwell assay and detection of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT)-related proteins. Finally, the binding mode of hit compound to GIT1 was estimated by molecular dynamics simulation to analyze the key amino residues to guide further optimization.Results: We selected the top 50 compounds from the ChemBridge library by virtual screening. Then, by skeleton similarity analysis nine compounds were selected for further study. Furthermore, the direct interaction of nine compounds to GIT1 was detected by BLI to obtain the best affinitive compound. Finally, 17302836 was successfully identified (KD = 84.1± 2.0 μM). In vitro tests on 17302836 showed significant anti-invasion effect on gastric cancer and colorectal cancer.Conclusion: We discovered a new GIT1/β-Pix inhibitor (17302836) against gastrointestinal cancer invasion and metastasis. Abstract: Recent observations of the light component of the cosmic-ray spectrum have revealed unexpected features that motivate further and more precise measurements up to the highest energies. The Dark Matter Particle Explorer is a satellite-based cosmic-ray experiment that has been operational since December 2015, continuously collecting data on high-energy cosmic particles with very good statistics, energy resolution, and particle identification capabilities. In this work, the latest measurements of the energy spectrum of proton+helium in the energy range from 46 GeV to 464 TeV are presented. Among the most distinctive features of the spectrum, a spectral hardening at 600 GeV has been observed, along with a softening at 29 TeV measured with a 6.6{\sigma} significance. Moreover, the detector features and the analysis approach allowed for the extension of the spectral measurement up to the sub-PeV region. Abstract: A microelectromechanical oscillator with a 0.73 $\mu$m gap structure is employed to probe the surface Andreev bound states in superfluid $^3$He-B. The surface specularity of the oscillator is increased by preplating it with 1.6 monolayers of $^4$He. In the linear regime, the temperature dependence of the damping coefficient is measured at various pressures, and the normalized energy gap is extracted. The damping coefficient increases after preplating at lower pressures, which is attributed to the decreased energy minigap of the surface bound states. The device is also driven into the nonlinear regime, where the temperature independent critical velocity at each pressure is measured. The critical velocity is observed to increase after preplating at all pressures, which might be related to the increased average energy gap. 14. Field-driven collapsing dynamics of skyrmions in magnetic multilayers

Abstract: Magnetic skyrmions are fascinating topological particle-like textures promoted by a trade-off among interfacial properties (perpendicular anisotropy and Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction (DMI)) and dipolar interactions. Depending on the dominant interaction, complex spin textures, including pure N\'eel and hybrid skyrmions have been observed in multilayer heterostructures. A quantification of these different spin textures typically requires a depth-reoslved magnetic imaging or scattering techniques. In the present work, we will show qualitatively different collapsing dynamics for pure N\'eel and hybrid skyrmions induced by a perpendicular magnetic field in two representative systems, [Pt/Co/Ir]15 and [Ta/CoFeB/MgO]15 multilayers. Skyrmions in the former stack undergo two morphological transitions, upon reversing the perpendicular field direction. Skyrmions in [Ta/CoFeB/MgO]15 multilayers exhibit a continuous transition, which is mainly linked to a reversible change of the skyrmion size. A full micromagnetic phase diagram is presented to identify these two collapsing mechanisms as a function of material parameters. Since the two distinct collapsing dynamics rely on the detailed layer-dependent spin structures of skyrmions, they could be used as potential fingerprints for identifying the skyrmion type in magnetic multilayers. Between May 2023 and October 2023, patients undergoing elective painless gastrointestinal endoscopy were recruited and randomly allocated into one of the three groups. Demographic data, intraoperative information, incidence of dreaming, insufficient anesthesia and intraoperative awareness, type of dream, patient satisfaction score, adverse events, and improvement of sleep quality were collected.Results: The difference in incidence of dreaming among the three groups was not significant (33.33% vs 48.33% vs 41.67%, p=0.061). The number of patients with intraoperative hypotension in the propofol group was larger than that of the remimazolam group (32 vs 12, p=0.001). However, the cases of intraoperative hypotension between propofol group and ciprofol group or ciprofol group and remimazolam group were comparable (32 vs 22, p=0.122; 22 vs 12, p=0.064). The percentage of insufficient anesthesia between propofol group and remimazolam group was significant (13.33% vs 1.67%, p=0.001), while no statistical difference was detected between propofol group and remimazolam group or ciprofol group and remimazolam group (13.33% vs 5.00%, p=0.025; 5.00% vs 1.67%, p=0.150). The ability of propofol to improve sleep quality at 1st post-examination day was significantly better than that of remimazolam (86.21% vs 72.88%, p=0.015), while it was not significant between propofol group and ciprofol group or ciprofol group and remimazolam group (86.21% vs 80.36%, p=0.236; 72.88% vs. 72.88%, p=0.181). Incidence of intraoperative awareness, intraoperative hypoxia, type of dream, satisfaction score, adverse events during recovery, and sleep improvement on the 7th post-examination day was not significant among the groups.Conclusion: Anesthesia with propofol, ciprofol and remimazolam, respectively, for gastrointestinal endoscopy did not induce statistical difference in the incidence of dreaming, despite that all of them are more likely to induce pleasant dreams.Keywords: propofol, ciprofol, remimazolam, endoscopic sedation, dreaming

The study analyzed clinical characteristics and diagnostic value of Aspergillus-specific IgG antibody test, using the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve to evaluate diagnostic efficacy.Results: The study enrolled 59 IPA cases and 68 non-IPA cases, the average admission age of IPA group was 63.2± 9.6 (33– 79), and the gender ratio (male:female) of IPA group was 42:17. The proportion of patients with history of smoking and COPD were higher in IPA group (59.3% vs 39.7%, P=0.027; 33.9% vs 14.7%, P =0.011, respectively). The level of Aspergillus fumigatus-specific IgG antibody in IPA group was significantly higher than non-IPA group (202.1± 167.0 vs 62.6± 58.0, P< 0.001). The area under the ROC curve was 0.799 (95%CI: 0.718, 0.865 P< 0.001), and the cut-off with best diagnostic efficacy was 91 AU/mL.Conclusion: Immunological test plays an important role in the diagnosis of pulmonary aspergillosis, and Aspergillus-specific IgG antibody test has the good diagnostic value in non-neutropenic IPA.Keywords: Aspergillus, invasive pulmonary aspergillosis, IgG, non-neutropenic, diagnosis

Patients with lower respiratory tract specimens were categorized into IPA+ and IPA- groups based on the presence of IPA and their clinical characteristics and prognoses then compared.Results: Of the 415 patients diagnosed with anti-MDA5+ DM, 28 cases had IPA (prevalence rate of 6.7%) with Aspergillus fumigatus being the most common species. The patients were categorized into IPA+ (n=28) and IPA- (n=98) groups, with no significant age or gender-related differences (P> 0.05). The IPA+ group had a lower lymphocyte count, particularly the CD4+ T-cell count, and reduced serum albumin and higher serum ferritin levels (P all< 0.05). An elevated bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) galactomannan level was found to be the sole independent risk factor for the occurrence of IPA (adjusted OR=2.191, P=0.029) with a cut-off value of 0.585 and area under the curve of 0.779. The mortality rate in the IPA+ group was 25%. Compared to survivors, non-survivors in this group exhibited a higher incidence of rapidly progressive interstitial lung disease, lower lymphocyte counts, and increased co-infection with Pneumocystis jirovecii (P all< 0.05).Conclusion: IPA was not rare in patients with anti-MDA5+ DM, with elevated BALF galactomannan levels being an independent risk factor for IPA occurrence. The aim of this study is to analyze the status and tendency of this area in a macroscopic perspective.Methods: Bibliometric analysis is the primary methodology of this study. Literature retrieval was conducted in Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection. WoS, Excel, VOSviewer and CiteSpace were employed to do the analyses and visualization. Parameters were analyzed, such as publications, citations, journals, and keywords, etc.Results: In total, 70 articles in the past 10 years were identified eligible. Most articles (14 pieces) were published in 2021, followed by 2022 and 2023 with 13 articles. Researchers come from 134 institutions and 20 countries. Huang Jung-Taek, Hallym College, and USA are the most productive author, institution and country, respectively. The articles were mainly published on the top journals of anesthesiology, orthopedics and surgery. The topic of these articles is primarily about the clinical issues of rebound pain. Peripheral nerve block, brachial plexus block and femoral nerve block are the activist keywords in the area, while perioperative management, fracture surgery and outcome may become hotpots in the next years.Conclusion: Our results show that the study of rebound pain after regional anesthesia starts relatively late and is in upward tendency, future studies can focus on the perioperative management and outcomes of fracture patients, and the definition and mechanism of rebound pain after regional anesthesia.Keywords: regional anesthesia, peripheral nerve block, rebound pain, bibliometrics

However, its impact on chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) recurrence risk is unknown. This study investigates the association between elevated serum uric acid and the risk of CRS recurrence.Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted on 1004 CRS patients (including 638 males and 366 females) who received functional endoscopic sinus surgery. All patients were followed up for more than 2 years, and categorized into subgroups based on phenotype, gender, and postoperative recurrence. Cox regression analysis was performed to evaluate the associations between serum uric acid and the risk of CRS recurrence.Results: After categorization, 104 males had hyperuricemia, and 54 females presented hyperuricemia. The rate of recurrent CRS in the hyperuricemia group was significantly higher compared to the non-hyperuricemia group in both males and females (P< 0.05). In both male and female patients, the rate of hyperuricemia and uric acid levels were elevated in the recurrent CRS group in comparison with the non-recurrent CRS group (P< 0.05). Unadjusted and adjusted Cox regression analysis demonstrated that serum uric acid was an independent risk factor for CRS recurrence (P< 0.05). To date, the effects of acetate, propionate and butyrate on human adiposity and glucose metabolism remain controversial. This study aimed to explore the associations of systemically acetate, propionate and butyrate with obesity and glucose homeostasis in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) and obesity.Methods: A total of 12 patients with T2D and obesity and 8 age- and sex-matched healthy individuals with BMI < 24 kg/m2 were enrolled in this study. Height, weight, body composition, blood pressure, biochemical indices, a 75-g oral glucose tolerance test, and plasma acetate, propionate and butyrate were measured at baseline. Then, participants in T2D group were given a weight control therapy, in addition to conventional medication, and all the measurements were repeated 12 months from baseline. The direct segmental multi-frequency bioelectrical impedance analysis was used to assess body composition. Acetate, propionate and butyrate levels were determined by liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry.Results: Butyrate concentration significantly increased from baseline after obvious weight loss (P< 0.05). Correlation analysis showed that propionate was negatively correlated with percent of body fat (PBF) and 2-h plasma glucose (2-h PG) (P< 0.05), and butyrate was negatively associated with body mass index, visceral fat area, PBF and 2-h PG (P< 0.05). 21. Emulating \emph{ab initio} computations of infinite nucleonic matter

Abstract: We construct efficient emulators for the \emph{ab initio} computation of the infinite nuclear matter equation of state. These emulators are based on the subspace-projected coupled-cluster method for which we here develop a new algorithm called small-batch voting to eliminate spurious states that might appear when emulating quantum many-body methods based on a non-Hermitian Hamiltonian. The efficiency and accuracy of these emulators facilitate a rigorous statistical analysis within which we explore nuclear matter predictions for $> 10^6$ different parametrizations of a chiral interaction model with explicit $\Delta$-isobars at next-to-next-to leading order. Constrained by nucleon-nucleon scattering phase shifts and bound-state observables of light nuclei up to \nuc{4}{He}, we use history matching to identify non-implausible domains for the low-energy coupling constants of the chiral interaction. 22. Nuclear-matter saturation and symmetry energy within $\Delta$--full chiral effective field theory

Abstract: Nuclear saturation and the symmetry energy are key properties of low-energy nuclear physics that depend on fine details of the nuclear interaction. The equation-of-state around saturation is also an important anchor for extrapolations to higher densities and studies of neutron stars. Here we develop a unified statistical framework that uses realistic nuclear forces to link the theoretical modeling of finite nuclei and infinite nuclear matter. We construct fast and accurate emulators for nuclear-matter observables and employ an iterative history-matching approach to explore and reduce the enormous parameter domain of $\Delta$-full chiral interactions. Abstract: The stellar (n, $\gamma$) cross section data for the mass numbers around A $\approx$ 160 are of key importance to nucleosynthesis in the main component of the slow neutron capture process, which occur in the thermally pulsing asymptotic giant branch (TP--AGB). The new measurement of (n, $\gamma$) cross sections for $^{159}$Tb was performed using the C$_6$D$_6$ detector system at the back streaming white neutron beam line (Back-n) of the China spallation neutron source (CSNS) with neutron energies ranging from 1 eV to 1 MeV. Experimental resonance capture kernels were reported up to 1.2 keV neutron energy with this capture measurement. Maxwellian-averaged cross sections (MACS) were derived from the measured $^{159}$Tb (n, $\gamma$) cross sections at $kT$ = 5 $\sim$ 100 keV and are in good agreement with the recommended data of KADoNiS-v0.3 and JEFF-3.3, while KADoNiS-v1.0 and ENDF-VIII.0 significantly overestimate the present MACS up to 40$\%$ and 20$\%$, respectively. A sensitive test of the s-process nucleosynthesis was also performed with the stellar evolution code MESA. Abstract: The recent discovery of superconductivity in infinite-layer nickelates generates tremendous research endeavors, but the ground state of their parent compounds is still under debate. Here, we report experimental evidences for the dominant role of Kondo scattering in the underdoped Nd1-xSrxNiO2 thin films. A resistivity minimum associated with logarithmic temperature dependence in both longitudinal and Hall resistivities are observed in the underdoped Nd1-xSrxNiO2 samples before the superconducting transition. A linear scaling behavior $\sigma_{xy}^{AHE}\sim\sigma_{xx}$ between anomalous Hall conductivity $\sigma_{xy}^{AHE}$ and conductivity $\sigma_{xx}$ is revealed, verifying the dominant Kondo scattering at low temperature. The effect of weak (anti-)localization is found to be secondary. Our experiments can help clarifying the basic physics in the underdoped Nd1-xSrxNiO2 infinite-layer thin films.

Abstract: More than a century after the performance of the oil drop experiment, the possible existence of fractionally charged particles FCP still remains unsettled. The search for FCPs is crucial for some extensions of the Standard Model in particle physics. Most of the previously conducted searches for FCPs in cosmic rays were based on experiments underground or at high altitudes. However, there have been few searches for FCPs in cosmic rays carried out in orbit other than AMS-01 flown by a space shuttle and BESS by a balloon at the top of the atmosphere. In this study, we conduct an FCP search in space based on on-orbit data obtained using the DArk Matter Particle Explorer (DAMPE) satellite over a period of five years. Unlike underground experiments, which require an FCP energy of the order of hundreds of GeV, our FCP search starts at only a few GeV. An upper limit of $6.2\times 10^{-10}~~\mathrm{cm^{-2}sr^{-1} s^{-1}}$ is obtained for the flux. Our results demonstrate that DAMPE exhibits higher sensitivity than experiments of similar types by three orders of magnitude that more stringently restricts the conditions for the existence of FCP in primary cosmic rays., Comment: 19 pages, 6 figures, accepted by PRD

Studies demonstrated that EGF rs3756261 polymorphism was associated with the risk of inflammatory diseases, but not including AS.Methods: To investigate the association between EGF rs3756261 polymorphism and the risk of AS, we genotyped the EGF rs3756261 polymorphism in 208 patients with AS and 412 controls in a Chinese Han population using a custom-by-design 48-Plex SNP scanTM Kit. The serum EGF levels were measured using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay in 208 AS patients and 412 controls.Results: Our data indicated that EGF rs3756261 polymorphism was associated with an increased risk of AS in the Chinese Han population. Stratified analyses indicated that the EGF rs3756261 polymorphism elevated the risk of AS among the males, smokers, drinkers and those aged < 30 years. In addition, the EGF rs3756261 polymorphism was related to increased CRP and HLA-B27 levels in AS patients. Next, we found that the average serum levels of EGF were significantly higher in AS patients compared with controls. Meanwhile, EGF serum levels were significantly higher in AG genotype carriers when compared with AA genotype carriers in AS patients.Conclusion: In conclusion, this study indicated that EGF rs3756261 polymorphism was associated with the risk of AS and EGF serum levels in a Chinese Han population.Keywords: EGF, rs3756261 polymorphism, serum levels, ankylosing spondylitis, case–control study

In a retrospective, cross-sectional study, we characterized CSF findings in Chinese patients with anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor encephalitis (NMDAR-E), anti-leucine-rich glioma-inactivated 1 encephalitis (LGI1-E), and anti-gamma aminobutyric acid-B receptor encephalitis (GABABR-E).Patients and Methods: The AE cases, including 102 NMDAR-E, 68 LGI1-E and 15 GABABR-E, were included. CSF inflammatory parameters consisted primarily of CSF leukocytes, oligoclonal bands (OCBs), and CSF/serum albumin ratios (QAlb). Ten serum cytokines were evaluated in order to classify AE subtypes.Results: 88% of NMDAR-E, 80% of GABABR-E, and 51% of LGI1-E patients had aberrant CSF features. In NMDAR-E, the CSF leukocyte count, CSF protein concentration, and age-adjusted QAlb were significantly higher than in LGI1-E, but did not differ from GABABR-E. Blood-CSF barrier dysfunction was less common in NMDAR-E patients with > 40 years old. On admission, inflammatory CSF response was more prevalent in NMDAR-E patients with a higher CASE score. With age < 60 years, CSF inflammatory changes were less frequent in LGI1-E patients, but more common in GABABR-E patients. MCP-1, IL-10, IL-1β, and IL-4 were potential classifiers for NMDAR-E, LGI1-E, and GABABR-E, and correlated substantially with CSF leukocyte count and QAlb.Conclusion: Subtype-specific patterns are formed by the various inflammatory CSF parameters in NMDAR-E, LGI1-E, and GABABR-E, and their correlation with disease severity, age, and disease duration. Our study aims to construct an early prediction model for hospital mortality in patients with pneumonia-associated ARDS.Methods: In this single-center retrospective study, consecutive patients with pneumonia-associated ARDS admitted into intensive care units (ICUs) in West China Hospital of Sichuan University in China between January 2012 and December 2018 were enrolled. The least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression and then multivariate logistic regression analysis were used to identify independent predictors which were used to develop a nomogram. We evaluated the performance of differentiation, calibration, and clinical utility of the nomogram.Results: The included patients were divided into the training cohort (442 patients) and the testing cohort (190 patients) with comparable baseline characteristics. The independent predictors for hospital mortality included age (OR: 1.04; 95% CI: 1.02, 1.05), chronic cardiovascular diseases (OR: 2.62; 95% CI: 1.54, 4.45), chronic respiratory diseases (OR: 1.87; 95% CI: 1.02, 3.43), lymphocytes (OR: 0.56; 95% CI: 0.39, 0.81), albumin (OR: 0.94; 95% CI: 0.90, 1.00), creatinine (OR: 1.00; 95% CI: 1.00, 1.01), D-dimer (OR: 1.06; 95% CI: 1.03, 1.09) and procalcitonin (OR: 1.14; 95% CI: 1.07, 1.22). A web-based dynamic nomogram (https://h1234.shinyapps.io/dynnomapp/) was constructed based on these factors. The concordance index (C index) of the nomogram was 0.798 (95% CI: 0.756, 0.840) in the training cohort and 0.808 (95% CI: 0.747, 0.870) in testing cohort. This study aimed to evaluate the unpleasant symptoms of DKD patients, and to investigate how these symptom clusters could affect patients.Methods: 408 DKD patients were recruited in this cross-sectional study. The symptoms of DKD patients were measured using the modified Dialysis Symptom Index. Network analysis was employed to evaluate the symptom network and the characteristics of individual nodes, while factor analysis was utilized to identify symptom clusters.Results: Blurred vision was the most prevalent symptom among DKD patients. The symptoms identified as the most distressing, severe, and frequent were light headache or dizziness, arteriovenous fistula/catheterization pain, and diarrhea, respectively. Five symptom clusters were obtained from factor analysis, and the most central symptom cluster in the entire symptom network was sexual dysfunction.Conclusion: This study identified five symptom clusters in Chinese DKD patients, with sexual dysfunction emerging as the most central cluster. These findings carry significant clinical implications, underscoring the necessity of assessing symptom clusters and their associations to enhance symptom management in DKD patients. The incidence of rebound pain (RP) 7 days after surgery and postoperative recovery were compared between the two groups.Results: The NRS pain scores at 24 and 48 hours postoperatively in the esketamine group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05). The incidence of postoperative rebound pain was significantly lower in the esketamine group than in the control group (P < 0.05). The consumption of sufentanil was less in the esketamine group in the postoperative 48 hours (P < 0.05). All participants underwent a nerve conduction study (NCS), and those asymptomatic patients with abnormal nerve conduction were diagnosed with sDPN. Differences between groups were evaluated by the chi-squared, Wilcoxon, or Fisher’s exact test. Binary logistic regression analysis was performed to determine the independent risk factors for sDPN. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were constructed, and the areas under curves (AUCs) were detected.Results: Among 311 asymptomatic patients with T2DM, 142 (45.7%) with abnormal nerve conduction were diagnosed with sDPN. Patients with sDPN significantly differed from those without diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) in age, history of hypertension, duration of diabetes, anemia, neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio, fasting C-peptide level, serum creatinine level, and albuminuria (all p< 0.05). Furthermore, the duration of diabetes (odds ratio [OR]: 1.062, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.016– 1.110), fasting C-peptide level (OR: 2.427, 95% CI: 1.126– 5.231), and presence of albuminuria (OR: 2.481, 95% CI: 1.406– 4.380) were independently associated with the development of sDPN (all p< 0.05). The AUCs for fasting C-peptide level, duration of diabetes, and the two factors combined were 0.6229 (95% CI: 0.5603– 0.6855, p=0.0002), 0.6738 (95% CI: 0.6142– 0.7333, p< 0.0001), and 0.6808 (95% CI: 0.6212– 0.7404, p< 0.0001), respectively.Conclusion: For patients with T2DM and longer duration of diabetes, lower fasting C-peptide levels, and presence with albuminuria, the risk for developing DPN is higher even if they have no clinical signs or symptoms. Abstract: We report on a two-fold increase of the $^{39}Ar$ loading rate in an atom trap by enhancing the generation of metastable atoms in a discharge source. Additional atoms in the metastable $1s_5$ level (Paschen notation) are obtained via optically pumping both the $1s_4$ - $2p_6$ transition at 801 nm and the $1s_2$ - $2p_6$ transition at 923 nm. By solving the master equation for the corresponding six-level system, we identify these two transitions to be the most suitable ones and encounter a transfer process between $1s_2$ and $1s_4$ when pumping both transitions simultaneously. We calculate the previously unknown frequency shifts of the two transitions in $^{39}Ar$ and confirm the results with trap loading measurements. The demonstrated increase in the loading rate enables a corresponding decrease in the required sample size, uncertainty and measurement time for $^{39}Ar$ dating, a significant improvement for applications such as dating of ocean water and alpine ice cores., Comment: arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:2005.11056

Abstract: Multiple isotopes of samarium element are the isotopes produced by the s process, and 154Sm is produced by the r process. In addition, 144Sm is p nuclei in nuclear astrophysics. The measurement of these can help us to better understand the results of relevant photonuclear reaction experiments. On the other hand, 149Sm is a 235U fission product with a 1% yield, its cross sections are important to reactor neutronics. In this work, the neutron capture yield of the natural samarium target was measured at the back-streaming white neutron beamline (Back-n) of the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS), and the resonance parameters were analyzed by SAMMY code. The resonance peaks and the neutron separation energies contributed by the different isotopes are considered individually. The results of the capture yield found signs of the possibility of two resonance peaks at 8 eV, which awaits further experimental examination. Cross-section was calculated according to resonance parameters and was compared with other experimental results and evaluation databases of ENDF/B-VIII.0 and CENDL-3.2. A clear difference between ENDF/B VIII.0 and CENDL-3.2 database appears at 23.2 eV, the experimental result at this energy is smaller than data of ENDF/B VIII.0 database but CENDL-3.2 database. Abstract: Crystal geometry can greatly influence the emergent properties of quantum materials. As an example, the kagome lattice is an ideal platform to study the rich interplay between topology, magnetism, and electronic correlation. In this work, combining high-resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy and ab-initio calculation, we systematically investigate the electronic structure of XMn6Sn6 (X = Dy, Tb, Gd, Y) family compounds. We observe the Dirac fermion and the flat band arising from the magnetic kagome lattice of Mn atoms. Interestingly, the flat band locates in the same energy region in all compounds studied, regardless of their different magnetic ground states and 4f electronic configurations. These observations suggest a robust Mn magnetic kagome lattice across the XMn6Sn6 family, thus providing an ideal platform for the search and investigation on new emergent phenomena in magnetic topological materials., Comment: PRB accepted

Abstract: The Dark Matter Particle Explorer (DAMPE) has been undergoing a stable on-orbit operation for more than 6 years and acquired observation of over 11 billion events. And a better understanding of the overall radiation environment on the DAMPE orbit is crucial for both simulation data production and flight data analysis. In this work, we study the radiation environment at the low Earth orbit and develop a simulation software package using the framework of ATMNC3, in which state-of-the-art full 3D models of the Earth's atmospheric and magnetic-field configurations is integrated. We consider in our Monte Carlo procedure event-by-event propagation of the cosmic rays in the geomagnetic field and their interaction with the Earth's atmosphere, focusing on the particles above GeV that are able to trigger the DAMPE data acquisition system. We compare the simulation results with the cosmic-ray electrons and positrons (CREs) flux measurements made by DAMPE. The overall agreement on both the spectral and angular distribution of the CREs flux demonstrates that our simulation is well established. Our software package could be of more general usage for the simulation of the radiation environment at the low Earth orbit of various altitudes.

Abstract: We present a spectral study of the black hole candidate MAXI J1348-630 during its 2019 outburst, based on monitoring observations with Insight-HXMT and Swift. Throughout the outburst, the spectra are well fitted with power-law plus disk-blackbody components. In the soft-intermediate and soft states, we observed the canonical relation L ~ T_in^4 between disk luminosity L and peak colour temperature T_in, with a constant inner radius R_in (traditionally identified with the innermost stable circular orbit). At other stages of the outburst cycle, the behaviour is more unusual, inconsistent with the canonical outburst evolution of black hole transients. In particular, during the hard rise, the apparent inner radius is smaller than in the soft state (and increasing), and the peak colour temperature is higher (and decreasing). This anomalous behaviour is found even when we model the spectra with self-consistent Comptonization models, which take into account the up-scattering of photons from the disk component into the power-law component. To explain both those anomalous trends at the same time, we suggest that the hardening factor for the inner disk emission was larger than the canonical value of ~1.7 at the beginning of the outburst. A more physical trend of radii and temperature evolution requires a hardening factor evolving from ~3.5 at the beginning of the hard state to ~1.7 in the hard intermediate state. This could be evidence that the inner disk was in the process of condensing from the hot, optically thin medium and had not yet reached a sufficiently high optical depth for its emission spectrum to be described by the standard optically-thick disk solution., Comment: 20 pages, 10 figures, 4 tables, accepted by ApJ

Many patients also have a heavy psychological burden due to clinical features such as wasting and choking on food. This study analyzed the risk factors of negative emotions in esophageal cancer patients during the peri-radiotherapy period and its effects on malnutrition.Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 339 patients with esophageal cancer during the peri-radiotherapy who received treatment at our hospital from April 2017 to April 2020, and followed up for 3 years. t test and Chi-square test were used to analyze the relationship between patients’ negative emotions and clinical data. Binary logistics regression was performed to analyze the independent risk factors for the occurrence of negative mood and malnutrition in the patients. Kaplan-Meier survival curves were used to analyze survival rates.Results: Our results showed that 18.3% of patients undergoing radiotherapy for esophageal cancer had negative emotions, and 41.9% suffered from malnutrition. The results of the binary logistic regression analysis showed that monthly household income (OR = 0.470, P = 0.022), the TNM stage (OR = 2.030, P = 0.044), concomitant gastrointestinal symptoms (OR = 2.071, P = 0.024), sleep status (OR = 2.540, P = 0.003), swallowing disorders (OR = 1.919, P = 0.048), and post-radiotherapy complications were independent risk factors for the development of negative emotions in patients. Negative emotions (OR = 2.547, P = 0.038) were also a risk factor for malnutrition in patients with esophageal cancer.Conclusion: Many patients with esophageal cancer suffer from anxiety and depression in the peri-radiotherapy period, which might lead to complications such as malnutrition or aggravate and affect the prognosis of patients. Hepatitis B Virus-Encoded MicroRNA 3 (HBV-miR-3) has recently been reported to be involved in HCC development. In this study, we aim to elucidate the role of HBV-miR-3 in promoting HBV-related HCC angiogenesis through Factor Inhibiting Hypoxia-inducible factor 1 (FIH-1).Results: By analyzing HBV-related HCC tissue samples, we found that high expression of HBV-miR-3 was associated with poor overall survival and HBV-miR-3 expression was significantly correlated with VEGFR2 and FIH-1 expressions. In vitro, HBV-miR-3 agomir repressed FIH-1 expression and promoted HIF-1α/VEGFA signaling activation in HepG2 cells, resulting in increased HUVEC lumen formation in HepG2-HUVEC co-culture model. Conversely, HBV-miR-3 antagomir induced FIH-1 expression and inhibited HIF-1α/VEGFA signaling activation in HepG2.2.15 cells, resulting in decreased HUVEC lumen formation in HepG2.2.15-HUVEC co-culture model. The effect of HBV-miR-3 to HCC angiogenesis was also confirmed by a mouse tumor bearing model. We also confirmed that HBV-miR-3 repressed FIH-1 expression via targeting the 3’-UTR of FIH-1 mRNA by luciferase activity assay.Conclusion: HBV-miR-3 was related to HCC patients’ overall survival and it promoted angiogenesis by repressing FIH-1 expression. This study aims to explore the effects of the LAMA2’s single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP), a subunit gene of laminin, on the detected brain regions of patients with major depressive disorder (MDD).Methods: The study included 89 patients with MDD and 60 healthy controls with T1-weighted structural magnetic resonance imaging and blood samples for genotyping. The interactions between LAMA2 gene SNPs and diagnosis as well as duration of illness (DOI) were explored on brain measures controlled for age, gender, and site.Results: The right transverse temporal gyrus and right parahippocampal gyrus showed reduced thickness in MDD. Almost all seven LAMA2 SNPs showed significant interactions with diagnosis on both gyrus (corrected p < 0.05 or trending). In MDD, rs6569604, rs2229848, rs2229849, rs2229850, and rs2784895 interacted with DOI on the right transverse temporal gyrus (corrected p < 0.05), but not the right parahippocampal gyrus.Conclusion: The thickness of the right transverse temporal gyrus in patients with MDD may be affected by LAMA2 gene and DOI.Keywords: major depressive disorder, right transverse temporal gyrus, LAMA2, interaction

Abstract: We propose a novel idea to construct an effective interaction under energy-density-functional (EDF) theories which is adaptive to the enlargement of the model space. Guided by effective field theory principles, iterations of interactions as well as enlargements of the model space through particle-hole excitations are carried out for infinite nuclear matter and selected closed-shell nuclei ($^4$He, $^{16}$O, $^{40}$Ca, $^{56}$Ni and $^{100}$Sn) up to next-to-leading order. Abstract: The High Energy X-ray telescope (HE) on-board the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (\textit{Insight}-HXMT) can serve as a wide Field of View (FOV) gamma-ray monitor with high time resolution ($\mu$s) and large effective area (up to thousands cm$^2$). We developed a pipeline to search for Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs), using the traditional signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) method for blind search and the coherent search method for targeted search. By taking into account the location and spectrum of the burst and the detector response, the targeted coherent search is more powerful to unveil weak and sub-threshold bursts, especially those in temporal coincidence with Gravitational Wave (GW) events. Based on the original method in literature, we further improved the coherent search to filter out false triggers caused by spikes in light curves, which are commonly seen in gamma-ray instruments (e.g. \textit{Fermi}/GBM, \textit{POLAR}). We show that our improved targeted coherent search method could eliminate almost all false triggers caused by spikes. Based on the first two years of \textit{Insight}-HXMT/HE data, our targeted search recovered 40 GRBs, which were detected by either \textit{Swift}/BAT or \textit{Fermi}/GBM but too weak to be found in our blind search. With this coherent search pipeline, the GRB detection sensitivity of \textit{Insight}-HXMT/HE is increased to about 1.5E-08 erg/cm$^2$ (200 keV$-$3 MeV). We also used this targeted coherent method to search \textit{Insight}-HXMT/HE data for electromagnetic (EM) counterparts of LIGO-Virgo GW events (including O2 and O3a runs). Abstract: Neutron star tidal deformability extracted from gravitational wave data provides a novel probe to the interior neutron star structures and the associated nuclear equation of state (EOS). Instead of the popular composition of nucleons and leptons in neutron stars, we include hyperons and examine the role of hyperons in the tidal deformability and its impact on the symmetry energy in a relativistic mean-field approach with the density-dependent parametrizations. The hyperons are found to have significant impact on the deformability, correlated sensitively with the onset density and fraction of hyperons in neutron star matter. Moderately lower onset density of hyperons can yield considerable modification to the tidal deformability and shift its inference on the nuclear EOS. The future measurements of the tidal deformability at multi-fiducial star masses are anticipated to lift the degeneracy between the contributions from the hyperon component and symmetry energy., Comment: to appear in Phys. Abstract: We present an analytical calculation of the response of a driven Duffing oscillator to low-frequency fluctuations in the resonance frequency and damping. We find that fluctuations in these parameters manifest themselves distinctively, allowing them to be distinguished. In the strongly nonlinear regime, amplitude and phase noise due to resonance frequency fluctuations and amplitude noise due to damping fluctuations are strongly attenuated, while the transduction of damping fluctuations into phase noise remains of order $1$. We show that this can be seen by comparing the relative strengths of the amplitude fluctuations to the fluctuations in the quadrature components, and suggest that this provides a means to determine the source of low-frequency noise in a driven Duffing oscillator., Comment: 5 pages, 3 figures, accepted for publication in Physica D

Abstract: We have realized optical excitation, trapping and detection of the radioisotope $^{81}$Kr with an isotopic abundance of 0.9 ppt. The 124 nm light needed for the production of metastable atoms is generated by a resonant discharge lamp. Photon transport through the optically thick krypton gas inside the lamp is simulated and optimized to enhance both brightness and resonance. We achieve a state-of-the-art $^{81}$Kr loading rate of 1800 atoms/h, which can be further scaled up by adding more lamps. The all-optical approach overcomes the limitations on precision and sample size of radiokrypton dating, enabling new applications in the earth sciences, particularly for dating of polar ice cores.
