To improve the electrocatalytic transformation of carbon dioxide (CO2) to multi-carbon (C2+) products is of great importance. Here we developed a nitrogen-doped Cu catalyst, by which the maximum C2+ Faradaic efficiency can reach 72.7% in flow-cell system, with the partial current density reaching 0.62 A cm−2. The in situ Raman spectra demonstrate that the ∗CO adsorption can be strengthened on such a N-doped Cu catalyst, thus promoting the ∗CO utilization in the subsequent C–C coupling step. Simultaneously, the water activation can be well enhanced by N doping on Cu catalyst. Owing to the synergistic effects, the selectivity and activity for C2+ products over the N-deoped Cu catalyst are much improved.

IntroductionExpansins (EXPs) are essential components of the plant cell wall that function as relaxation factors to directly promote turgor-driven expansion of the cell wall, thereby controlling plant growth and development and diverse environmental stress responses. EXPs genes have been identified and characterized in numerous plant species, but not in sweetpotato.Results and methodsIn the present study, a total of 59 EXP genes unevenly distributed across 14 of 15 chromosomes were identified in the sweetpotato genome, and segmental and tandem duplications were found to make a dominant contribution to the diversity of functions of the IbEXP family. Phylogenetic analysis showed that IbEXP members could be clustered into four subfamilies based on the EXPs from Arabidopsis and rice, and the regularity of protein motif, domain, and gene structures was consistent with this subfamily classification. Collinearity analysis between IbEXP genes and related homologous sequences in nine plants provided further phylogenetic insights into the EXP gene family. Cis-element analysis further revealed the potential roles of IbEXP genes in sweetpotato development and stress responses. RNA-seq and qRT-PCR analysis of eight selected IbEXPs genes provided evidence of their specificity in different tissues and showed that their transcripts were variously induced or suppressed under different hormone treatments (abscisic acid, salicylic acid, jasmonic acid, and 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid) and abiotic stresses (low and high temperature).DiscussionThese results provide a foundation for further comprehensive investigation of the functions of IbEXP genes and indicate that several members of this family have potential applications as regulators to control plant development and enhance stress resistance in plants.

Considering the implications of future climatic shifts, mid-latitude desert ecosystems will experience pronounced changes in precipitation dynamics, as evidenced by the elevated inter-annual variability and escalated annual incidence of extreme rainfall events. Despite considerable research on vegetation response to intricate precipitation patterns at the community level, the physiological adaptations of individual plants within these assemblages are not well defined. This investigation employed simulations of diverse precipitation scenarios, utilising varying precipitation amounts (to simulate inter-annual variability) and intervals (to simulate intra-annual variability). A field-manipulated experiment was conducted to assess the responses of the leaf and stem hydraulic functional traits of Artemisia ordosica under different precipitation regimes. The results demonstrated that 1) the magnitude of inter-annual precipitation, rather than the intra-annual redistribution of precipitation, dominated the variability in the functional traits of A. ordosica, with diminished inter-annual precipitation inducing an array of functional trait alterations (e.g., specific leaf area, stomatal conductance, water use efficiency, and conduit diameter) to enhance water-use safety. Reallocating precipitation to low-frequency but high-intensity events during years with less inter-annual precipitation was more advantageous for the survival of A. ordosica. 2) A reduction in annual precipitation fostered a correlation between stem and leaf functional traits in A. ordosica (e.g., hydraulic conductance with photosynthetic rate, stomatal conductance, conduit diameter with transpiration rate, and water use efficiency), suggesting that under decreased precipitation, A. ordosica strengthens the coupling between hydraulics and photosynthesis to prevent hydraulic failure, demonstrating a safer survival strategy. Overall, the impact of global changes in precipitation patterns on the individual survival of A. ordosica primarily depended on the variation in inter-annual precipitation rather than the within-year redistribution. This study enhanced our understanding of the adaptability of dominant shrub species within desert shrub communities to altered precipitation patterns under climate change.

Abstract Electrocatalytic CO2 reduction is a typical reaction involving two reactants (CO2 and H2O). However, the role of H2O dissociation, which provides active *H species to multiple protonation steps, is usually overlooked. Herein, we construct a dual-active sites catalyst comprising atomic Cu sites and Cu nanoparticles supported on N-doped carbon matrix. Efficient electrosynthesis of multi-carbon products is achieved with Faradaic efficiency approaching 75.4% with a partial current density of 289.2 mA cm−2 at −0.6 V. Experimental and theoretical studies reveal that Cu nanoparticles facilitate the C-C coupling step through *CHO dimerization, while the atomic Cu sites boost H2O dissociation to form *H. The generated *H migrate to Cu nanoparticles and modulate the *H coverage on Cu NPs, and thus promote *CO-to-*CHO. The dual-active sites effect of Cu single-sites and Cu nanoparticles gives rise to the catalytic performance.

MADS-box transcription factors act as the crucial regulators in plant organ differentiation. Crop yields are highly influenced by the flower number and fruit growth. However, flower identification is a very complex biological process, which involves many cascade regulations. The molecular mechanisms underlying the genetic regulation of flower identification in cultivated plants, such as tomato, are intricate and require further exploration. In this study, we investigated the vital function of a SEPALLATA (SEP) MADS-box gene, SlMBP21, in tomato sympodial inflorescence meristem (SIM) development for the conversion from SIMs to floral meristems (FMs). SlMBP21 transcripts were primarily accumulated in young inflorescence meristem, flowers, sepals, and abscission zones. The Ailsa Craig (AC++) tomato plants with suppressed SlMBP21 mRNA levels using RNAi exhibited a large increase in flower number and fruit yields in addition to enlarged sepals and inhibited abscission zone development. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) revealed that the maturation of inflorescence meristems (IMs) was repressed in SlMBP21-RNAi lines. RNA-seq and qRT-PCR analyses showed that numerous genes related to the flower development, plant hormone signal transduction, cell cycle, and cell proliferation et al. were dramatically changed in SlMBP21-RNAi lines. Yeast two-hybrid assay exhibited that SlMBP21 can respectively interact with SlCMB1, SFT, JOINTLESS, and MC, which play key roles in inflorescence meristems or FM development. In summary, our data demonstrate that SlMBP21 functions as a key regulator in SIM development and the conversion from SIMs to FMs, through interacting with other regulatory proteins to control the expression of related genes.

Combustion of herb residues (HRs) for heat recovery is a good way for their utilization, but there exists such a problem as high concentration NOx emission in flue gas. The alcohol extracted herb residue (AEHR), one special type of HRs, was chosen as the object and was subjected to immediate combustion in a fluidized bed reactor to investigate the characteristics of its resulting NOx emission. The results showed that, most of the NOx in the flue gas was produced from the char nitrogen (CN); as the fuel water content increased, the NOx emission concentration exhibited a trend of first decreasing and then increasing; and a properly low combustion temperature inhibited the NOx emission upon the premise of ensuring full combustion. Air staging combustion was adopted to effectively control NOx: the NOx emission concentration in the flue gas was reduced to 296 mg·m−3 and the NOx emission reduction rate reached 46.51 % compared to conventional combustion. Co-combustion by blending wasted activated coke (WAC) into the AEHR helped both stabilize the combustion state and reduce further the NOx emission. When the blending ratio of WAC fell within a proper range of 20–30 %, the NOx emission concentration in the flue gas was as low as 231.4 mg·m−3. In addition to the dilution effect of the combustion flue gas of the blended WAC, the local reducing atmosphere caused by its incomplete combustion as well as its strong absorbability and catalytical effect was accountable for the further decrease of the NOx emission concentration.

Wasted tofu rich in protein was subject to hydrothermal pretreatment (HTPT) under different conditions (at 120, 140, 160 and 180 ℃; for 0, 30, 60 and 90 min) followed by biochemical methane potential (BMP) tests, and 140 ℃ and 0 min were found to be respectively the best temperature and duration for HTPT of tofu in terms of its biogas production. Under the under the optimal conditions (140 ℃, 0 min) the accumulative methane yield reached up to 510.9 mL·(gVS)-1, which was 26.98 % higher than that without HTPT (402.3 mL·(gVS)-1). The start-up process of continuous anerobic digestion (AD) of the tofu before and after hydrothermal treated (HT) at the optimal HTPT conditions (140 ℃, 0 min) was examined, to investigate and compare how their consequent AD responded to HTPT. It was found that, for start-up of continuous AD, the HT tofu delivered more balanced nutrients and thus led to more stable AD and quicker biogas production. Unavoidably, HTPT generated products refractory to biodegradation, to slightly decrease the total biogas production. During AD of HT tofu some weak ammonia-tolerant microbes, such as methylotrophic methanogens, survived and played indispensable roles. Analyses of living microbial community structure indicated that, some hydrolytic acidification bacteria intolerant to ammonia nitrogen (such as Proteobacteria) were always active and appeared at high proportion. The viable methylotrophic methanogens, e. g. RumEn M2, took obvious responsibilities in start-up of the AD for HT tofu.

Ferric acetylacetonate/covalent organic framework (Fe(acac)3/COF) composite was synthesized by interfacial polymerization method at room temperature. The crystal structure, morphology and porosity property of the composite were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscope and nitrogen adsorption. The interaction between Fe(acac)3 and COF was investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectra and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The Fe(acac)3/COF composite was used as a photocatalyst for the oxidation of benzyl alcohol under mild conditions. It exhibits high activity and selectivity for the reaction, of which the mechanism was investigated by determining its photoelectric properties. The Fe(acac)3/COF catalyst developed in this work has application potential in other photocatalytic reactions.

Antibiotic abuse and environmental pollution caused by animal husbandry has aroused extensive concern from the government and the industry. As a kind of efficient alternative to agricultural chemicals like hormones and antibiotics, functional microorganisms can enhance the comprehensive growth performance of animals and thus play a crucial role in ecological and healthy breeding. The use of functional microorganisms in animal breeding for eco-agriculture has been a key development pathway for achieving the objective of sustainable development. Functional microorganisms are used at the beginning, middle, and end of the entire breeding process. Functional microorganisms can effectively eliminate anti-nutritional factors from feed sources, increasing their utilization rate and nutritional value. Animals fed with functional microorganisms not only have balanced gut microbiota and intestinal homeostasis, but their immune system is also well regulated. Functional microorganisms can also control odor emissions and pathogens in the environment. Finally, functional microorganisms also play an important role in the bio-safety treatment and circular utilization of breeding wastes. This study provides references for the continued application and promotion of functional microorganisms in animal breeding by summarizing the progress of their application and related mechanisms in such areas as feed processing, intestinal health, breeding environmental control and waste treatment.

Flow cytometry is a biological technique for counting and sorting out tiny particles suspended in fluid based on flow cytometer through the detection of scattering or coupled fluorescence signals to obtain a series of important biophysical and biochemical related characteristics of suspended particles (usually cells, bacteria and other tiny particles) in a quick, accurate, objective and high-throughput way, and to automatically analyze and sort out specific populations according to the pre-selected parameter range of cells, bacteria and other tiny particles. Flow cytometry is widely used in many scientific fields, especially biotechnology and medicine. Although the application of flow cytometry in agricultural research started relatively late, great progress has been made. With the continuous improvement of the performance of flow cytometer, the continuous development and improvement of labeling methods and detection technologies, the application prospect of flow cytometry will become wider, and it will also play an increasingly important role in the agricultural field. In this review, it introduces the working principle and functional classification of flow cytometer, discusses the application and research progress of flow cytometry in agricultural fields such as crop genome and protoplast analysis, stress resistance research, animal immunity and trace element analysis, sperm quality and sex control, toxin toxicity analysis, pathogenic bacteria and virus analysis, and then looks forward to the development prospect of this research field, providing a new direction for the potential application of flow cytometry in agricultural fields.

【Objective】A strain of Lactobacillus fermentum was isolated from the feces of healthy piglets, and its probiotic properties were tested in order to provide references for its applications in livestock and poultry breeding.【Method】106 strains of lactic acid bacteria were isolated by using Rogosa SL medium, and one strain which was potential for feeding was preliminarily screened by gram staining, acid and bile salt tolerance tests. The probiotic ability of strain LF1, which was identified as L. fermentum LF1 by 16S rDNA sequencing, was evaluated, including its antagonistic activity (Escherichia coli K88, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus suis, Salmonella, and Vibrio, etc.), tolerance to the stimulated acidic environment in stomach and bile acid, and adhesion to small intestinal epithelial cells.【Result】L. fermentum LF1 had strong tolerance to acid and bile salt, showing its strong probiotic potential. However, the LF1 strain showed low adhesion to pig intestinal epithelial cells. In terms of antagonism, the culture supernatant of L. fermentum LF1 inhibited the growth of many animal pathogens significantly.【Conclusion】L. fermentum LF1 had a good probiotics ability. After further experimental evaluation on animals, it can be used as a probiotic candidate strain for livestock and poultry breeding industry.

Objectives: To study the value of standardized volume and intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) parameters of the spleen based on tumor burden for predicting treatment response in newly diagnosed acute leukemia (AL). Methods: Patients with newly diagnosed AL were recruited and underwent abdominal IVIM diffusion-weighted imaging within one week before the first induction chemotherapy. Quantitative parameters of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) included the standardized volume (representing volumetric tumor burden) and IVIM parameters (standard apparent diffusion coefficient [sADC]; pure diffusion coefficient [D]; pseudo-diffusion coefficient [D∗]; and pseudo-perfusion fraction [f], representing functional tumor burden) of the spleen. Clinical biomarkers of tumor burden were collected. Patients were divided into complete remission (CR) and non-CR groups according to the treatment response after the first standardized induction chemotherapy, and the MRI and clinical parameters were compared between the two groups. The correlations of MRI parameters with clinical biomarkers were analyzed. Multivariate logistic regression was performed to determine the independent predictors for treatment response. Receiver operating characteristic curves were used to analyze the predicted performance. Results: 76 AL patients (CR: n = 43; non-CR: n = 33) were evaluated. BackgroundPrevious cross-sectional studies have shown that meaning in life (MIL) is closely associated with college students’ smartphone addiction (SA), but the causal relationship between MIL and college students’ SA is uncertain. Therefore, conducting a longitudinal study to explore their relationship is very necessary. Furthermore, some studies have implied possible gender differences in the relationship between MIL and SA and the relationship between SA and MIL. Therefore, it is necessary to further examine whether there are gender differences in the above relationships.MethodsThe present study constructed a three-wave cross-lag panel model to explore the relationships between MIL and college students’ SA. Three waves of data were collected from 705 college students (male: 338; female: 367) in China for three consecutive years, and the interval of data collection was 1 year. These college students completed the same online questionnaire regarding MIL and SA.Results(1) The MIL of male college students was significantly stronger than that of female college students at time 1, time 2, and time 3, (2) Female college students’ SA at time 1, time 2, and time 3 was more serious than that of male college students, (3) There were reciprocal relationships between MIL and college students’ SA, (4) The influence of MIL on female college students’ SA was significantly stronger than that of male college students, and (5) The influence of SA on female college students’ MIL was significantly stronger than that of male college students.ConclusionThis study showed reciprocal relationships between MIL and SA among male college students and female college students. The findings further deepen our understanding of the relationship between MIL and SA and provide a gender perspective for preventing or intervening with college students’ SA.

UiO-66-NH2, an important metal–organic framework, is usually synthesized by solvothermal method and the particle size is generally larger than 200 nm, which limits its catalytic applications in chemical reactions. It is very meaningful to produce UiO-66-NH2 nanoparticles with ultra-small size, but remains challenging. Herein, we synthesized UiO-66-NH2 nanoparticles in size of 8–15 nm that are immobilized on g-C3N4 nanosheets. Compared with the UiO-66-NH2 synthesized by the traditional solvothermal method (> 200 nm), the ultra-small UiO-66-NH2 nanoparticles immobilized on g-C3N4 have more unsaturated coordination positions and increased Lewis acidity. Owing to these combined advantages, the ultra-small UiO-66-NH2 nanoparticles exhibit greatly improved catalytic activity for Meerwein–Ponndorf–Verley reaction than larger UiO-66-NH2 particles.

The pathways through which mature blood cells in the bone marrow (BM) enter the blood stream and exit the BM, hematopoietic stem cells in the peripheral blood return to the BM, and other substances exit the BM are referred to as the marrow–blood barrier (MBB). This barrier plays an important role in the restrictive sequestration of blood cells, the release of mature blood cells, and the entry and exit of particulate matter. In some blood diseases and tumors, the presence of immature cells in the blood suggests that the MBB is damaged, mainly manifesting as increased permeability, especially in angiogenesis. Some imaging methods have been used to monitor the integrity and permeability of the MBB, such as DCE-MRI, IVIM, ASL, BOLD-MRI, and microfluidic devices, which contribute to understanding the process of related diseases and developing appropriate treatment options. In this review, we briefly introduce the theory of MBB imaging modalities along with their clinical applications.

Production of methanol from CO2 electroreduction is attractive but achieving high selectivity, current density and stability simultaneously remains a grand challenge. Here, the authors present an in situ dual doping strategy to construct efficient CO2-to-methanol electrocatalysts.

BackgroundNeonatal intrahepatic cholestasis caused by citrin deficiency (NICCD) is a common clinical phenotype of citrin deficiency in infants. Its phenotype is atypical, so genetic testing is quite necessary for the diagnosis.Case presentationWe report 4 patients with jaundice and low body weight. Furthermore, the biochemical examination of all showed abnormal liver function and metabolic changes. DNA samples of the patients were extracted and subjected to genetic screening. All candidate pathogenic variants were validated by Sanger sequencing, and CNVs were ascertained by qPCR. The genetic screening revealed 6 variants in 4 patients, and all patients carried compound heterozygous variants of SLC25A13. Importantly, 3 variants were newly discovered: a nonsense mutation in exon17 (c.1803C > G), a frameshift mutation in exon 11(c.1141delG) and a deletion of the whole exon11. Thus, four NICCD patients were clearly caused by variants of SLC25A13. Biochemical indicators of all patients gradually returned to normal after dietary adjustment.ConclusionsOur study clarified the genetic etiology of the four infants, expanded the variant spectrum of SLC25A13, and provided a basis for genetic counseling of the family. Early diagnosis and intervention should be given to patients with NICCD.

Glycogen synthase kinase 3 (GSK3) family members are evolutionally conserved Ser/Thr protein kinases in mammals and plants. In plants, the GSK3s function as signaling hubs to integrate the perception and transduction of diverse signals required for plant development. Despite their role in the regulation of plant growth and development, emerging research has shed light on their multilayer function in plant stress responses. Here we review recent advances in the regulatory network of GSK3s and the involvement of GSK3s in plant adaptation to various abiotic and biotic stresses. We also discuss the molecular mechanisms underlying how plants cope with environmental stresses through GSK3s-hormones crosstalk, a pivotal biochemical pathway in plant stress responses. We believe that our overview of the versatile physiological functions of GSK3s and underlined molecular mechanism of GSK3s in plant stress response will not only opens further research on this important topic but also provide opportunities for developing stress-resilient crops through the use of genetic engineering technology.

DNA-binding with one finger (Dof) transcription factors play a crucial role in plant abiotic stress regulatory networks, although massive Dofs have been systematically characterized in plants, they have not been identified in the hexaploid crop sweetpotato. Herein, 43 IbDof genes were detected to be disproportionally dispersed across 14 of the 15 chromosomes of sweetpotato, and segmental duplications were discovered to be the major driving force for the expansion of IbDofs. The collinearity analysis of IbDofs with their related orthologs from eight plants revealed the potential evolutionary history of Dof gene family. Phylogenetic analysis displayed that IbDof proteins were assigned into nine subfamilies, and the regularity of gene structures and conserved motifs was consistent with the subgroup classification. Additionally, five chosen IbDof genes were shown to be substantially and variably induced under various abiotic conditions (salt, drought, heat, and cold), as well as hormone treatments (ABA and SA), according to their transcriptome data and qRT-PCR experiments. Consistently, the promoters of IbDofs contained a number of cis-acting elements associated with hormone and stress responses. Besides, it was noted that IbDof2 had transactivation activity in yeasts, while IbDof-11/-16/-36 did not, and protein interaction network analysis and yeast two-hybrid experiments revealed a complicated interaction connection amongst IbDofs. Collectively, these data lay a foundation for further functional explorations of IbDof genes, especially with regards to the possible application of multiple IbDof members in breeding the tolerant plants.

The realization that mobile phones can detect rice diseases and insect pests not only solves the problems of low efficiency and poor accuracy from manually detection and reporting, but it also helps farmers detect and control them in the field in a timely fashion, thereby ensuring the quality of rice grains. This study examined two Improved detection models for the detection of six high-frequency diseases and insect pests. These models were the Improved You Only Look Once (YOLO)v5s and YOLOv7-tiny based on their lightweight object detection networks. The Improved YOLOv5s was introduced with the Ghost module to reduce computation and optimize the model structure, and the Improved YOLOv7-tiny was introduced with the Convolutional Block Attention Module (CBAM) and SIoU to improve model learning ability and accuracy. First, we evaluated and analyzed the detection accuracy and operational efficiency of the models. Then we deployed two proposed methods to a mobile phone. We also designed an application to further verify their practicality for detecting rice diseases and insect pests. The results showed that Improved YOLOv5s achieved the highest F1-Score of 0.931, 0.961 in mean average precision (mAP) (0.5), and 0.648 in mAP (0.5:0.9). It also reduced network parameters, model size, and the floating point operations per second (FLOPs) by 47.5, 45.7, and 48.7%, respectively. Furthermore, it increased the model inference speed by 38.6% compared with the original YOLOv5s model. Improved YOLOv7-tiny outperformed the original YOLOv7-tiny in detection accuracy, which was second only to Improved YOLOv5s. The probability heat maps of the detection results showed that Improved YOLOv5s performed better in detecting large target areas of rice diseases and insect pests, while Improved YOLOv7-tiny was more accurate in small target areas. On the mobile phone platform, the precision and recall of Improved YOLOv5s under FP16 accuracy were 0.925 and 0.939, and the inference speed was 374 ms/frame, which was superior to Improved YOLOv7-tiny. Both of the proposed improved models realized accurate identification of rice diseases and insect pests. Moreover, the constructed mobile phone application based on the improved detection models provided a reference for realizing fast and efficient field diagnoses.

In the process of printing and copying, the volatilization of toner produces tiny particles and harmful gases that are detrimental to the human body. Low-temperature printing and copying can reduce harmful gas emissions. Styrene acrylic resin is the main component of toner and the thermal conductivity of toner can be improved by increasing the thermal conductivity of styrene acrylic resin. In this paper, hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN), carboxyl modified multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs-COOH) and graphene hybrid fillers were added into styrene acrylic resin to improve the thermal conductivity of resin composite by forming a connected thermal conductivity network in resin. The experimental result shows that the thermal conductivity of the h-BN/styrene acrylic resin composite increases with the increase in h-BN filler content (0-20wt%). When 20.0 wt% h-BN is added into styrene acrylic resin, the thermal conductivity is increased by 83.63%. Hybrid fillers (MWCNTs-COOH/graphene and 3.0 wt% h-BN) were added in styrene acrylic resin and the thermal conductivity of the composite is almost the same or higher than that of 20.0 wt% h-BN/styrene acrylic resin composite. The thermal conductivity of styrene acrylic resin composites improved by 69.57% and 87.14% via adding 1.5wt% CNTs-3 wt% h-BN and 1.0wt% graphene-3 wt% h-BN. MWCNTs-COOH or graphene can bridge isolated h-BN aggregates to form a thermally conductive network in styrene acrylic resin, while the addition of graphene improves the thermal conductivity of resin composite higher than that of MWCNTs-COOH.

Producing two-dimensional metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with highly exposed active surfaces is important for catalysis. Here, authors prepare MOF nanosheets by using CO2 as a capping agent to control the oriented growth of MOFs.

Background Small single subcortical infarction (SSSI) may be classified as parent artery disease-related or only branch involved according to the stenosis of parent artery. The study aimed to evaluate short-term and long-term prognoses and the effectiveness of antiplatelet therapy in SSSI.Methods We prospectively enrolled 2890 patients with SSSI from the Third China National Stroke Registry (CNSR-III) database from August 2015 to March 2018. Domain name generation algorithms are widely used in malware, such as botnet binaries, to generate large sequences of domain names of which some are registered by cybercriminals. Accurate detection of malicious domains can effectively defend against cyber attacks. The detection of such malicious domain names by the use of traditional machine learning algorithms has been explored by many researchers, but still is not perfect. To further improve on this, we propose a novel parallel detection model named N-Trans that is based on the N-gram algorithm with the Transformer model. First, we add flag bits to the first and last positions of the domain name for the parallel combination of the N-gram algorithm and Transformer framework to detect a domain name. The model can effectively extract the letter combination features and capture the position features of letters in the domain name. It can capture features such as the first and last letters in the domain name and the position relationship between letters. In addition, it can accurately distinguish between legitimate and malicious domain names. In the experiment, the dataset is the legal domain name of Alexa and the malicious domain name collected by the 360 Security Lab. The experimental results show that the parallel detection model based on N-gram and Transformer achieves 96.97% accuracy for DGA malicious domain name detection. It can effectively and accurately identify malicious domain names and outperforms the mainstream malicious domain name detection algorithms.

Real-time analysis of UAV low-altitude remote sensing images at airborne terminals facilitates the timely monitoring of weeds in the farmland. Aiming at the real-time identification of rice weeds by UAV low-altitude remote sensing, two improved identification models, MobileNetV2-UNet and FFB-BiSeNetV2, were proposed based on the semantic segmentation models U-Net and BiSeNetV2, respectively. The MobileNetV2-UNet model focuses on reducing the amount of calculation of the original model parameters, and the FFB-BiSeNetV2 model focuses on improving the segmentation accuracy of the original model. In this study, we first tested and compared the segmentation accuracy and operating efficiency of the models before and after the improvement on the computer platform, and then transplanted the improved models to the embedded hardware platform Jetson AGX Xavier, and used TensorRT to optimize the model structure to improve the inference speed. Finally, the real-time segmentation effect of the two improved models on rice weeds was further verified through the collected low-altitude remote sensing video data. The results show that on the computer platform, the MobileNetV2-UNet model reduced the amount of network parameters, model size, and floating point calculations by 89.12%, 86.16%, and 92.6%, and the inference speed also increased by 2.77 times, when compared with the U-Net model. The FFB-BiSeNetV2 model improved the segmentation accuracy compared with the BiSeNetV2 model and achieved the highest pixel accuracy and mean Intersection over Union ratio of 93.09% and 80.28%. On the embedded hardware platform, the optimized MobileNetV2-UNet model and FFB-BiSeNetV2 model inferred 45.05 FPS and 40.16 FPS for a single image under the weight accuracy of FP16, respectively, both meeting the performance requirements of real-time identification. The two methods proposed in this study realize the real-time identification of rice weeds under low-altitude remote sensing by UAV, which provide a reference for the subsequent integrated operation of plant protection drones in real-time rice weed identification and precision spraying.

Citrin deficiency initially presents as neonatal intrahepatic cholestasis (NICCD) and often resolves within first year of infancy. Failure to thrive and dyslipidemia caused by citrin deficiency (FTTDCD) has been recently proposed as a novel post-NICCD phenotype and its clinical features are still being established. Herein, we encountered a 2-year-old girl who was hospitalized for intermittent fever lasting 10 days. Besides pneumonia, we observed an NICCD-like phenotype with the presence of liver dysfunction, dyslipidemia, aminoacidemia, organic academia, and extremely high levels of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP). Genetic testing confirmed the diagnosis of citrin deficiency and, liver histology revealed she had already developed cirrhosis. Although, improvement of biochemical parameters and liver histology were observed after treatment that included dietary restrictions and symptomatic treatments, AFP levels remained elevated (>400 ng/ml) during a 3-year follow-up period. Moreover, liver magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examination performed on the patient at age 5 revealed the development of multiple liver nodules with diffusion restriction on diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI). These observations highly indicate the possibility of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Thus, this case reveals that an NICCD-like phenotype complicated with cirrhosis can exist during FTTDCD stage without any prior signs. It also emphasizes the necessity of monitoring AFP levels during follow-up for citrin deficiency patients with persistently high AFP level after treatment as FTTDCD may progress to HCC. Individualized treatment strategy for patients with FTTDCD also need to be explored.

The DEAD-box RNA helicases are involved in almost every aspect of RNA metabolism, associated with diverse cellular functions including plant growth and development, and their importance in response to biotic and abiotic stresses is only beginning to emerge. However, none of DEAD-box genes was well characterized in tomato so far. In this study, we reported on the identification and characterization of two putative DEAD-box RNA helicase genes, SlDEAD30 and SlDEAD31 from tomato, which were classified into stress-related DEAD-box proteins by phylogenetic analysis. Expression analysis indicated that SlDEAD30 was highly expressed in roots and mature leaves, while SlDEAD31 was constantly expressed in various tissues. Furthermore, the expression of both genes was induced mainly in roots under NaCl stress, and SlDEAD31 mRNA was also increased by heat, cold, and dehydration. In stress assays, transgenic tomato plants overexpressing SlDEAD31 exhibited dramatically enhanced salt tolerance and slightly improved drought resistance, which were simultaneously demonstrated by significantly enhanced expression of multiple biotic and abiotic stress-related genes, higher survival rate, relative water content (RWC) and chlorophyll content, and lower water loss rate and malondialdehyde (MDA) production compared to wild-type plants. Collectively, these results provide a preliminary characterization of SlDEAD30 and SlDEAD31 genes in tomato, and suggest that stress-responsive SlDEAD31 is essential for salt and drought tolerance and stress-related gene regulation in plants.

BackgroundDeregulation of EGFR signaling is common in non-small cell lung cancers (NSCLC) and this finding led to the development of tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) that are highly effective in a subset of NSCLC. Mutations of EGFR (mEGFR) and copy number gains (CNGs) of EGFR (gEGFR) and HER2 (gHER2) have been reported to predict for TKI response. Mutations in KRAS (mKRAS) are associated with primary resistance to TKIs.Methodology/principal findingsWe investigated the relationship between mutations, CNGs and response to TKIs in a large panel of NSCLC cell lines. Genes studied were EGFR, HER2, HER3 HER4, KRAS, BRAF and PIK3CA. Mutations were detected by sequencing, while CNGs were determined by quantitative PCR (qPCR), fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and array comparative genomic hybridization (aCGH). IC50 values for the TKIs gefitinib (Iressa) and erlotinib (Tarceva) were determined by MTS assay. For any of the seven genes tested, mutations (39/77, 50.6%), copy number gains (50/77, 64.9%) or either (65/77, 84.4%) were frequent in NSCLC lines. Mutations of EGFR (13%) and KRAS (24.7%) were frequent, while they were less frequent for the other genes. The three techniques for determining CNG were well correlated, and qPCR data were used for further analyses. CNGs were relatively frequent for EGFR and KRAS in adenocarcinomas. While mutations were largely mutually exclusive, CNGs were not. EGFR and KRAS mutant lines frequently demonstrated mutant allele specific imbalance i.e. the mutant form was usually in great excess compared to the wild type form. On a molar basis, sensitivity to gefitinib and erlotinib were highly correlated. Multivariate analyses led to the following results: 1. mEGFR and gEGFR and gHER2 were independent factors related to gefitinib sensitivity, in descending order of importance. 2. mKRAS was associated with increased in vitro resistance to gefitinib.Conclusions/significanceOur in vitro studies confirm and extend clinical observations and demonstrate the relative importance of both EGFR mutations and CNGs and HER2 CNGs in the sensitivity to TKIs.

To improve the electrocatalytic transformation of carbon dioxide (CO2) to multi-carbon (C2þ) products is of great importance. Here we developed a nitrogen-doped Cu catalyst, by which the maximum C2þ Faradaic efficiency can reach 72.7% in flow-cell system, with the partial current density reaching 0.62 A cm-2. The in situ Raman spectra demonstrate that the *CO adsorption can be strengthened on such a N-doped Cu catalyst, thus promoting the *CO utilization in the subsequent C--C coupling step. Simultaneously, the water activation can be well enhanced by N doping on Cu catalyst. Owing to the synergistic effects, the selectivity and activity for C2þ products over the N-deoped Cu catalyst are much improved. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
