Three new metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), namely, [Pb7(TTPCA)4Cl2]·3H2O (1), [Pb7(TTPCA)4(DMA)2(HCOO)2]·H2O (2), and [Pb4(TTPCA)3]·3DMF·2H2O·H3O (3), were synthesized by the H3TTPCA ligand [H3TTPCA = 1,1',1″-(1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triyl)-tripiperidine-4-carboxylic acid], with lead(II) nitrate under solvothermal conditions. They were characterized by CHN analysis, IR spectroscopy, UV-vis spectroscopy, and single-crystal and powder X-ray diffraction. In addition, their thermogravimetric analysis and fluorescence properties were studied. Compounds 1-3 were 3D MOF structures with different Pbx(COO)y clusters: ([Pb7(COO)12Cl2]), ([Pb7(COO)12]), and [Pb8(COO)18]. Fluorescence detection of compounds 1-3 shows that they can act as excellent sensors of nitrophenols with a low limit of detection and a high quenching constant.

Photoresponsive materials are a key part of the age of smart technology that have potential in a broad range of applications. Coordination networks (CNs) are widely used due to their designability and stability. In this work, three novel alkaline earth metal coordination networks (AEM-CNs): [Mg(CMNDI)(H2 O)2 ], [Ca(CMNDI)(H2 O)2 ]⋅H2 O, and [Sr(CMNDI)(H2 O)(DMF)] with fsl, cds, and scn topology nets were synthetized via N,N'-bis(carboxymethyl)-1,4,5,8-naphthalenediimide (H2 CMNDI); the scn net is not found in the Reticular Chemistry Structure Resource or ToposPro. The reusable and sensitive photochromic properties of the three CNs enable them to be used as secret inks or ultraviolet detectors. In addition, the CNs also exhibited reusable photoluminescent turn-off toward the drug molecules, balsalazide disodium (Bal.) and colchicine (Col.), with good limits of detection of 0.16 and 0.70 μM. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study of a fluorescence sensor for Bal. Thus, the AEM-CNs provide a design idea for integrated photoresponsive materials that could be further improved in the near future by further study.

Considering that cyclotriphosphazene polycarboxylic acid is a kind of organic ligand with fantastic structures and performances and the unique luminescence characteristics of rare earth ions, a series of porous lanthanide metal–organic frameworks (Ln-MOFs) (CH3)2NH2[Ln3(HCPCP)1.5(CH3COO)]·6DMA (Ln = Ce (1), Sm (2), Eu (3), Tb (4), HCPCP = hexa(4-carboxyphenoxy)cyclotriphosphazene, and DMA = N,N-dimethylacetamide) were synthesized with novel topological network structures. Compound 4 exhibited a sensitive recognition of –NO2, and had a fluorescence quenching phenomenon for seven kinds of nitro aromatic compounds (NACs). In particular, it showed the best fluorescence response to 2,4,6-trinitrophenol (TNP) and 2,4-dinitrophenol (DNP), and the KSV values were 2.86 × 105 M−1 and 8.21 × 104 M−1, and the limit of detection (LOD) values were 0.20 μM and 0.71 μM, respectively. At the same time, we successfully doped different concentrations of Eu3+ into compound 4 to obtain a series of doped Ln-MOF materials x%Eu3+@4 (x = 0.5, 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10, 15 and 20). With the increase of Eu3+ doping ratios, the characteristic peaks of Tb3+ and Eu3+ changed regularly, and the energy transfer from Tb3+ to Eu3+ ions occurred. By changing the excitation wavelength of the samples with different Eu3+ doping concentrations, a higher quality white light emitting material 7.5%Eu3+@4 (λex = 340 nm) was finally obtained, with a CIE coordinate of (0.3268, 0.3212).

A facile strategy was used to construct a series of composite materials with color-tunable and white light emission by encapsulating 1,3,6,8-tetrakis(p-benzoic acid)pyrene (H4TBAPy) into framework material [Eu(MCTCA)1.5(H2O)2]·1.75H2O (Eu-MCTCA), which is synthesized based on Eu(NO3)3·6H2O and 5-methyl-1-(4-carboxylphenyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazole-4-carboxylic acid (H2MCTCA). A slight adjustment of the emission color can be easily fulfilled by simply altering the concentration of H4TBAPy or regulating the excitation wavelength. Notably, white light emitting Eu-MCTCA@H4TBAPy can be realized by encapsulating H4TBAPy with a concentration of 0.75 mM, when the excitation wavelength is 350 nm. Furthermore, based on the favorable luminescence and stable structure of Eu-MCTCA@H4TBAPy in water or organic solvents, Eu-MCTCA@H4TBAPy can be used as a potential luminescent probe for detecting Fe3+, Cr2O72− and colchicine.

To investigate the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) on acute lung injury (ALI), a lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induced ALI mouse model was used in this study. Before receiving intratracheal LPS instillation, mice were given EA at ST36 for 7 days as a long-term treatment or one time as a short-term treatment. Lung histopathological examination, lung injury scores, lung wet/dry (W/D) ratio, and inflammatory cytokines included proinflammation factors such as TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6 and anti-inflammation factors such as IL-4 and IL-10 in serum and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) were detected at the end of experiment. The results show that EA pretreatment ameliorated the lung damage and inflammatory response by LPS. In addition, we found that SIRT1 and its deacetylation of NF-κB were promoted after EA pretreatment in lung tissues. Meanwhile, the expression of angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) is also enhanced by EA pretreatment. Thus, the present findings suggest that EA could be a potential therapy of ALI.

To observe the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) on tumor number, body conditions, inflammatory factors and expression levels of silent information regulator 1 (sirtuin 1, SIRT1) and autophagy-related proteins Beclin-1, P62, and LC3 in colorectal tissues in inflammatory-transformed colorectal cancer mice, so as to explore its underlying mechanisms in resisting tumor growth.A total of 100 C57BL/6 male mice were randomly divided into normal control, model, EA, EA + SIRT1 inhibitor (EA+inhibitor) and agonist resveratrol (agonist) groups, with 20 mice in each group. EA (2 Hz, 1 mA) was applied to "Zusanli"(ST36)and "Fenglong"(ST40) for 20 min every time, 3 times a week for 11 weeks. Mice of the EA +inhibitor group received intraperitoneal injection of SIRT1 inhibitor EX527 (5 mg/kg) at the same time of EA treatment, and those of the agonist group received gavage of resveratrol (200 mg/kg, an agonist of SIRT1), 3 times a week for 11 weeks. The body mass was measured weekly. The disease activity index (DAI), colorectal length and tumor number in each group were recorded. The histopathological changes of colorectal tissues were observed by H.E. staining; the contents of interleukin 6 (IL-6), IL-10, IL-17, in the colorectal tissues were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and the expression levels of SITR1, Beclin-1, P62, and LC3 in colorectal tissues were detected by Western blot and real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR, respectively.Compared with the normal control group, the body weight, length of colorectum, the contents of IL-10, and the expression levels of SIRT1,Beclin-1 and LC3 mRNAs and proteins were significantly decreased (EA can reduce the number of tumors and inflammation reaction in colorectal tissue and improve the body condition in mice with colorectal cancer, which may be related to its functions in activating the expression of intestinal SIRT1, and then facilitating cellular autophagy.

Intraventricular hemorrhage is a neurosurgical emergency, and a dangerous condition associated with high morbidity and mortality. Previously, hematoma evacuation is generally executed by external intracranial drainage (EVD) or surgical evacuation. Nowadays, endoscopic evacuation is emerging as a good alternative because it brings relatively less invasion and injury. However, successful endoscopic evacuation requires skilled manipulation of endoscopic devices and the evidence supporting its efficacy differs in different reports.To improve the technique usage and provide more evidence of endoscopic evacuation efficacy, we summarize our surgical experience and compared the outcomes of the endoscopic evacuation with EVD using real-world data.We retrospectively studied 96 consecutive patients with intraventricular hemorrhage who underwent either endoscopic surgery (Patients in the endoscopic and non-endoscopic groups presented with a similar state of consciousness, with a comparable Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) index. The average operation time of the endoscopic group was longer than that of the non-endoscopic group (median 2.42 hEndoscopic evacuation of intraventricular hemorrhage was generally an effective and efficient way for hemorrhage evacuation, and contributed remarkably to the improvement of consciousness in patients with intraventricular hemorrhage.

Tumor lysis syndrome (TLS) is an oncologic emergency that usually occurs after initial treatment of a malignant tumor. It manifests as hyperuricaemia, hyperkalaemia, hyperphosphataemia and hypocalcaemia, ultimately resulting in acute kidney failure, seizures, cardiac arrhythmias, and even death. Here, we report a very rare case of spontaneous TLS in a patient with advanced gastric adenocarcinoma who eventually succumbed to renal failure. Extra vigilance towards electrolyte imbalances should be given during initiation of therapy in cases of large gastric cancer with severe distant metastasis. Risk assessment prior to surgery, early diagnosis and comprehensive treatment strategies are vital in improving the prognosis of gastric cancer patients with TLS. Urgent hemodialysis should be implemented as soon as possible in order to prevent further renal deterioration.

Acupuncture has been used in China for thousands of years and concerned as a typical alternative medicine in inflammatory diseases nowadays. The nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) transcription factor is an important regulator of inflammation. In this article, we discuss the role of acupuncture in NF-κB pathways and also present the acupoints selection, acupuncture administration, and related inflammation diseases and models from previous studies to bring readers close to a more complete understanding of the mechanisms between acupuncture and NF-κB in inflammatory diseases.

Hydrological modelling of surface runoff for Lake Poyang watershed is of significant importance since the surface runoff is the main source of water inflows of the lake. The hydrological model can be used to reveal the influences of changes of natural and human conditions in the watershed on the surface runoff and consequently on the water balance of the lake. Hydrological modeling of the Lake Poyang watershed is challenging due to the complexities of the system, e.g. the large size (162.2 ×104 km2) of the area with high heterogeneity of soil types and land uses, contribution of stream flow from multiple rivers to the lake, and the overland flow at lake-side zone. Relevant methods to simulate the above features were presented and a distributed hydrological model was developed in this paper for Lake Poyang watershed. The model was well calibrated and validated against the observed daily stream flows at six stations from 1991 to 2001. The results were satisfactory inthe general model predictions, with high monthly efficiencies of 0.82 – 0.95 for Ganjiang, Xinjiang and Raohe rivers. Accuracy of model prediction for Fuhe and Xiushui rivers was slightly lower, with efficiencies ranging from 0.65 to 0.78. The model indicated that the average volume of annual surface runoff to the lake for the simulation period was 162.3 billion m3, of which Ganjiang, Xinjiang and Fuhe rivers contributed 47%, 13% and 12%, respectively. Direct overland flow to the lake at the lake-side zone accounted for about 4%. The rest (24%) was contributed via Raohe, Xiushui rivers and several tributaries. The model successfully simulated the hydrological processes of Lake Poyang watershed, and can be used to evaluate impacts of human activities on water variability and water balance of Lake Poyang.

The conceptual rainfall-runoff model, HBV, was applied to Dongjiang basin and its 13 sub-basins for the purposes of examining the applicability of this well-known model in south China in order to explore the possibility of transferring the calibrated parameter values to ungauged basins. For testing the applicability of the model in gauged basins, an automatic optimization method was used for model calibration. For testing the transferability of the parameter values to ungauged basins, two parameter regionalization methods (proxy basin and global mean) to determine the model parameters for ungauged catchments in the study area were investigated. The results showed that: (1) the HBV model worked well in the Dongjiang basin with average R2 higher than 0.82 for using calibrated values; (2) Transferring the parameter values with higher R2 and ME during cross-basins tests into the hypothetic ungaged catchments did not result in better model simulations than those with lower corresponding values; (3) Neither area-weighted-mean nor Thiessen-interpolated-mean approach could markedly improve the precision of parameters estimation by arithmetic mean value. It was concluded that both regionalization methods could effectively estimate parameters for ungauged catchments in the Dongjiang basin, leading to little discrepancy in the two models.

When optimizing the ventilation and cooling system of medium-sized high power density asynchronous motor, it is found that the temperature rise of the motor can be greatly reduced after punching the axial ventilation holes in the rotor yoke, but the traditional method based on the magnetic circuit method cannot accurately calculate the motor iron loss of this new structure. In this paper combined with the finite element field-circuit-motion coupled analysis method, taking YXKK355-4, 355kW and YKK400-4, 400kW medium-sized high voltage asynchronous motor for example, a two-dimensional geometric model and mathematical model of the motor are established, then the iron loss calculation method is improved. Using this method not only the iron loss value of the whole motor can be obtained, but also the specific distribution of iron loss in different areas of the motor can be known, and the correctness of the simulation results is proved by experiments.

With the development of engraving technology, engraving systems based on digital image processing technique has been accepted by the market with fast molding and low cost, and will be widely used in advertising, mould etc. In this study, the advantage of four thresholds algorithm is given by analyzing the problems of the traditional Canny edge detection algorithm. Then four thresholds algorithm is applied to the image processing system of CNC engraving machine. Experimental results show that the algorithm can efficiently and accurately detect the contour to engrave image.

Ion temperature is one of the fundamental plasma parameters, which is important for studying the plasma behavior and instabilities. The measurement of ion temperature is very difficult especially in a low temperature plasma. The traditional passive and active (laser induced fluorescence) spectral diagnostics are complex and expensive because of the low value of the ion temperature, while the resolution of the retarding energy analyzer is not fine enough to measure the small T_i. Here we utilize the method of ion acoustic wave Landau damping to measure the ion temperature in the linear magnetized plasma device, where the 2 meter long plasma column with 12 cm in diameter is produced by an indirectly heated oxide cathode plasma source. The device provides a wide range of plasma parameters for many fundamental issues of plasma research. The typical plasma density is 2×1017 m-3 and neutral argon pressure is 0.02 Pa. Discharge pulse length is 5.8 ms with a plateau period of 4.8 ms. Ion acoustic waves (IAWs) are excited via biased plane stainless mesh grid with a high transparency of 80%. The grid with 10 cm in diameter is located in the center of the device (1.5 m away from the plasma source), while its normal axis is parallel to the magnetic field lines. Ion acoustic waves are excited during the discharge pulse via the sine signals applied to the grid. The biasing peak-peak voltage is 12 V with frequencies of 800 kHz and 1 MHz. IAW is also excited with biasing voltage 24 V and frequency 800 kHz, while the experimental results exclude the existence of the ion burst mode. A movable Langmuir probe controlled by a step motor is used to measure the spatial evolution of the IAW along the magnetic field. Thus the damping length and the phase velocity of the IAW propagating in the magnetic field are measured under different conditions. The measured phase velocity is around 3200 m/s in plasma coordinate. The electron temperature is measured to be 2.9 eV resulting from the V-I curve of single probe. Based on the measured damping length, the ion temperature is measured to be 0.3 eV, which is very consistent with the results measured by spectral diagnostics on other similar linear machines.

The effective measurement of plasma turbulence flow field is of great help for better understanding the turbulence in magnetically confined plasmas, and experimentally verifying the theoretically predicted phenomenon such as zonal flows. In this article, the dynamic programming based time-delay estimation technique is employed for the first time to estimate azimuthal velocity fluctuation of drift-wave turbulence in a linear magnetized plasma generated via a hot cathode plasma source. Analysis results clearly reproduce the zonal flow structure which is spontaneously generated by nonlinear energy transfer from the drift-wave turbulence. Moreover, via the comparison among the zonal flow (ZF) characteristics estimated respectively by the turbulent fluctuations of plasma located in different frequency regions, we further evaluate the dependences of accuracy and response for estimating ZF property using this newly developed time-delay estimation algorithm on the level of relative incoherent noise in the carrier waves. This work provides an example and reference value for deeper exploration on plasma turbulence and in particular the relevant flow field with the help of the dynamic programming based time-delay estimation technique.
