Abstract Glioblastoma (GBM) is one of the deadliest primary brain tumors, but its diagnosis and curative therapy still remain a big challenge. Herein, neutrophil‐targeting semiconducting polymer nanotheranostics (SSPNiNO) is reported for second near‐infrared (NIR‐II) fluorescence imaging‐guided trimodal therapy of orthotopic glioblastoma in mouse models. The SSPNiNO are formed based on two semiconducting polymers acting as NIR‐II fluorescence probe as well as photothermal conversion agent, respectively. A thermal‐responsive nitric oxide (NO) donor and an adenosine 2A receptor (A2AR) inhibitor are co‐integrated into SSPNiNO to enable trimodal therapeutic actions. SSPNiNO are surface attached with a neutrophil‐targeting ligand to mediate their effective delivery into orthotopic GBM sites via a “Trojan Horse” manner, enabling high‐sensitive NIR‐II fluorescence imaging. Upon NIR‐II light illumination, SSPNiNO effectively generates heat via NIR‐II photothermal effect, which not only kills tumor cells and induces immunogenic cell death (ICD), but also triggers controlled NO release to strengthen tumor ICD. Additionally, the encapsulated A2AR inhibitor can modulate immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment by blocking adenosine‐A2AR pathway, which further boosts the antitumor immunological effect to observably suppress the orthotopic GBM progression. This study can provide a multifunctional theranostic nanoplatform with cumulative therapeutic actions for NIR‐II fluorescence imaging‐guided effective GBM treatment.

Abstract Adoptive cellular immunotherapy as a promising and alternative cancer therapy platform is critical for future clinical applications. Natural killer (NK) cells have attracted attention as an important type of innate immune regulatory cells that can rapidly kill multiple adjacent cancer cells. However, these cells are significantly less effective in treating solid tumors than in treating hematological tumors. Herein, we report the synthesis of a Fe3O4-PEG-CD56/Avastin@Ce6 nanoprobe labeled with NK-92 cells that can be used for adoptive cellular immunotherapy, photodynamic therapy and dual-modality imaging-based in vivo fate tracking. The labeled NK-92 cells specifically target the tumor cells, which increases the amount of cancer cell apoptosis in vitro. Furthermore, the in vivo results indicate that the labeled NK-92 cells can be used for tumor magnetic resonance imaging and fluorescence imaging, adoptive cellular immunotherapy, and photodynamic therapy after tail vein injection. These data show that the developed multifunctional nanostructure is a promising platform for efficient innate immunotherapy, photodynamic treatment and noninvasive therapeutic evaluation of breast cancer.

Abstract Sonodynamic therapy (SDT) has been explored for cancer therapy, especially for deep tumors due to its low tissue penetration restriction. The therapeutic efficacy of SDT is limited due to the complicated tumor microenvironment. This study reports the construction of oxygen‐carrying semiconducting polymer nanoprodrugs (OSPNpro) for deep tumor treatment via combining amplified SDT with pyroptosis. An oxygen carrier perfluorohexane, sonodynamic semiconducting polymer as the sonosensitizer, and reactive oxygen species (ROS)‐responsive prodrug are co‐loaded into a nanoparticle system, leading to the formation of these polymer nanoprodrugs. Such OSPNpro show an effective accumulation in tumor tissues after systemic administration, in which they deliver oxygen to relieve tumor hypoxia microenvironment and thus mediate amplified SDT via producing ROS under ultrasound (US) irradiation, even when the tumors are covered with a 2‐cm chicken breast tissue. In addition, the ROS‐responsive prodrugs are activated by the generated ROS to trigger pyroptosis of tumor cells. Such a sono‐pyroptosis induces a strong antitumor immunity with obviously higher level infiltrations of effector immune cells into tumors. Therefore, OSPNpro‐based combinational therapy can greatly inhibit the growth of 2‐cm chicken breast tissue‐covered deep tumors and suppress tumor metastasis. This study offers a prodrug nanoplatform for treatment of deep tumor via sono‐pyroptosis strategy.

Abstract Background Radiotheranostics differs from the vast majority of other cancer therapies in its capacity for simultaneous imaging and therapy, and it is becoming more widely implemented. A balance between diagnostic and treatment requirements is essential for achieving effective radiotheranostics. Herein, we propose a proof-of-concept strategy aiming to address the profound differences in the specific requirements of the diagnosis and treatment of radiotheranostics. Results To validate the concept, we designed an s-tetrazine (Tz) conjugated prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) ligand (DOTA-PSMA-Tz) for 68Ga or 177Lu radiolabeling and tumor radiotheranostics, a trans-cyclooctene (TCO) modified Pd@Au nanoplates (Pd@Au-PEG-TCO) for signal amplification, respectively. We then demonstrated this radiotheranostic strategy in the tumor-bearing mice with the following three-step procedures: (1) i.v. injection of the [68Ga]Ga-PSMA-Tz for diagnosis; (2) i.v. injection of the signal amplification module Pd@Au-PEG-TCO; (3) i.v. injection of the [177Lu]Lu-PSMA-Tz for therapy. Firstly, this strategy was demonstrated in 22Rv1 tumor-bearing mice via positron emission tomography (PET) imaging with [68Ga]Ga-PSMA-Tz. We observed significantly higher tumor uptake (11.5 ± 0.8%ID/g) with the injection of Pd@Au-PEG-TCO than with the injection [68Ga]Ga-PSMA-Tz alone (5.5 ± 0.9%ID/g). Furthermore, we validated this strategy through biodistribution studies of [177Lu]Lu-PSMA-Tz, with the injection of the signal amplification module, approximately five-fold higher tumor uptake of [177Lu]Lu-PSMA-Tz (24.33 ± 2.53% ID/g) was obtained when compared to [177Lu]Lu-PSMA-Tz alone (5.19 ± 0.26%ID/g) at 48 h post-injection. Conclusion In summary, the proposed strategy has the potential to expand the toolbox of pretargeted radiotherapy in the field of theranostics. Graphical Abstract

Abstract Radionuclides internal radiotherapy (RIT) is a clinically powerful method for cancer treatment, but still poses unsatisfactory therapeutic outcomes due to the hypoxic characteristic of tumor microenvironment (TME). Catalase (CAT) or CAT-like nanomaterials can be used to enzymatically decompose TME endogenous H2O2 to boost TME oxygenation and thus alleviate the hypoxic level within tumors, but their effectiveness is still hindered by the short-lasting of hypoxia relief owing to their poor stability or degradability, thereby failing to match the long therapeutic duration of RIT. Herein, we proposed an innovative strategy of using facet-dependent CAT-like Pd-based two-dimensional (2D) nanoplatforms to continuously enhance RIT. Specifically, rationally designed 2D Pd@Au nanosheets (NSs) enable consistent enzymatic conversion of endogenous H2O2 into O2 to overcome hypoxia-induced RIT resistance. Furthermore, partially coated Au layer afford NIR-II responsiveness and moderate photothermal treatment that augmenting their enzymatic functionality. This approach with dual-effect paves the way for reshaping TME and consequently facilitating the brachytherapy ablation of cancer. Our work offers a significant advancement in the integration of catalytic nanomedicine and nuclear medicine, with the overarching goal of amplifying the clinical benefits of RIT-treated patients. Abstract Glycans are complex biomolecules that encode rich information and regulate various biological processes, such as fertilization, host‐pathogen binding, and immune recognition, through interactions with glycan‐binding proteins. A key driving force for glycan‐protein recognition is the interaction between the π electron density of aromatic amino acid side chains and polarized C─H groups of the pyranose (termed the CH–π interaction). However, the relatively weak binding affinity between glycans and proteins has hindered the application of glycan detection and imaging. Here, computational modeling and molecular dynamics simulations are employed to design a chemical strategy that enhances the CH–π interaction between glycans and proteins by genetically incorporating electron‐rich tryptophan derivatives into a lectin PhoSL, which specifically recognizes core fucosylated N‐linked glycans. This significantly enhances the binding affinity of PhoSL with the core fucose ligand and enables sensitive detection and imaging of core fucosylated glycans in vitro and in xenograft tumors in mice. Further, the study showed that this strategy is applicable to improve the binding affinity of GafD lectin for N‐acetylglucosamine‐containing glycans. The approach thus provides a general and effective way to manipulate glycan‐protein recognition for glycoscience applications.

Abstract This study aims to investigate the mechanism of platelet activation‐induced thrombosis in patients with acute non‐ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) by detecting the expression of autophagy‐associated proteins in platelets of patients with NSTEMI. A prospective study was conducted on 121 patients with NSTEMI who underwent emergency coronary angiography and optical coherence tomography. The participants were divided into two groups: the ST segment un‐offset group (n = 64) and the ST segment depression group (n = 57). We selected a control group of 60 patients without AMI during the same period. The levels of autophagy‐associated proteins and the expression of autophagy‐associated proteins in platelets were measured using immunofluorescence staining and Western blot. In NSTEMI, the prevalence of red thrombus was higher in the ST segment un‐offset myocardial infarction (STUMI) group, whereas white thrombus was more common in the ST segment depression myocardial infarction (STDMI) group. Furthermore, the platelet aggregation rate was significantly higher in the white thrombus group compared with the red thrombus group. Compared with the control group, the autophagy‐related protein expression decreased, and the expression of αIIbβ3 increased in NSTEMI. The overexpression of Beclin1 could activate platelet autophagy and inhibit the expression of αIIbβ3. The results suggested that the increase in platelet aggregation rate in patients with NSTEMI may be potentially related to the change in autophagy. And the overexpression of Beclin1 could reduce the platelet aggregation rate by activating platelet autophagy. Our findings demonstrated that Beclin1 could be a potential therapeutic target for inhibiting platelet aggregation in NSTEMI.

Laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT), which ablates diseased brain tissues via hyperthermia, has offered novel treatment approach for epilepsy; however, the current LITT protocols still lack ablation selectivity and disease‐modifying efficacy. A second near‐infrared (NIR‐II) activatable nitric oxide (NO) releasing nanoactuator is reported here for photothermal combinational modulation of epileptogenic focus. The nanoactuator is prepared by conjugating NO donor S‐nitrosoglutathione (GSNO) onto polydopamine‐coated gold (Au) nanoparticles (NPs), which shows excellent photothermal conversion capability and controlled NO‐releasing property upon illumination in the NIR‐II window. Both in vitro and in vivo study demonstrate that the nanoactuator could exert stronger cell killing effects as compared to its counterpart. Furthermore, the NIR‐II‐activated NO release could inhibit P‐gp expression by regulating NF‐κb pathway, resulting in reprogramming of epileptogenic microenvironment. This study thus offers a novel regulating strategy for the treatment of drug‐resistant epilepsy.

IntroductionClonal fragmentation helps to assess clonal plants' growth resilience to human and environmental disturbance. Although clonal integration in epiphytes in tropical rubber plantations is important to understand their role in enhancing biodiversity and ecosystem services, research on this subject is limited. These plantations are typically monospecific economic forests that face increased anthropogenic disturbances.MethodsIn this study, we selected the clonal fern Pyrrosia nuda to study its survival status, biomass, maximum quantum yield of photosystem II (Fv/Fm), and frond length in response to the level of clonal fragmentation in a tropical rubber plantation.Results and discussionThe results showed that (1) clonal fragmentation significantly negatively affected the survival rate, biomass, and frond length of clonal plants, but with minimal effects on Fv/Fm at different growth stages; (2) the performance of a ramet (e.g., biomass or frond length) increased with ramet developmental ages and decreased with the number of ramets in a clonal fragment. The age-dependent impacts of clonal fragmentation provide insights into the biodiversity conservation of epiphytes and forest management in man-made plantations. Therefore, to better conserve the biodiversity in tropical forests, especially in environment-friendly rubber plantations, there is a need to reduce anthropogenic disturbances and alleviate the level of fragmentation.

Abstract Background Ethanol infusion of the vein of Marshall (EI-VOM) has been widely used to facilitate mitral isthmus (MI) ablation. According to the literature, the success rate of achieving a bidirectional conduction block across the MI ranges from 51 to 96%, with no standardized strategy or method available for cardiac electrophysiologists. Objectives This study aimed to introduce and evaluate a novel ablation method of MI. Methods Consecutive patients with persistent atrial fibrillation (PeAF) that underwent catheter ablation were included. The MI ablation procedure followed a stepwise approach. In step 1, ethanol infusion of the vein of Marshall (EI-VOM) was performed. In step 2, a “V-shape” endocardial linear ablation connecting the left inferior pulmonary vein (LIPV) to mitral annulus (MA) was performed. In step 3, earliest activation sites(EASs) near the ablation line were identified using activation mapping followed by reinforced ablation. In step 4, precise epicardial ablation was performed, with the catheter introduced into the coronary sinus(CS) to target key ablation targets (KATs). Results 135 patients with PeAF underwent catheter ablation with the stepwise ablation method adopted in 119 cases. Bidirectional conduction blocks were achieved in 117 patients (98.3%). The block rates of every step were 0%, 58.0%, 44.0%, and 92.9%, and the cumulative block rates for the four steps were 0%, 58.0%, 76.5%, and 98.3%, respectively. No patient experienced fatal complications. Conclusions Our novel stepwise catheter ablation method for MI yielded a high bidirectional block rate with high reproducibility.

The poor tear resistance of silicone rubber dramatically limits its application range. In this study, a topological entanglement structure of molecular chains was constructed at the interface between the matrix and silica by introducing epoxidized silicone rubber into silicone rubber/silica composites. We found that this topologically entangled structure could improve the crack propagation resistance of the composites by inducing the orientation of molecular chains. The results showed that adding 5 phr of 15% epoxy silicone rubber raised the silicone rubber composite’s tear strength and elongation at break, they increased by 330% and 140, respectively. This work provides a new idea for preparing silicone rubber composites with high tear resistance to better expand the application field of silicone rubber.

In order to maximize the utilization efficiency of renewable energy resources and reduce carbon costs in multi-park integrated energy systems (MIESs), this paper proposes an electricity–carbon energy scheduling method for MIESs, where a electricity–carbon joint trading market is established to allow energy interactions between IESs so as to satisfy their energy deficiencies and surpluses. Simultaneously, through leveraging differences in carbon prices among regions, carbon quotas are shared between all IESs, thereby reducing the overall carbon trading costs within the region. The paper also suggests that to encourage carbon cooperation between IESs, incentive measures such as government subsidies could be provided to foster collaboration. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed electricity–carbon energy scheduling method for MIESs can effectively improve the utilization flexibility of various energy resources and obtain the higher economic benefits, compared with the traditional method where each IES operates independently.

Abstract Due to the complicated tumor microenvironment that compromises the efficacies of various therapies, the effective treatment of pancreatic cancer remains a big challenge. Sono‐activatable semiconducting polymer nanoreshapers (SPNDNH) are constructed to multiply remodel tumor microenvironment of orthotopic pancreatic cancer for potent immunotherapy. SPNDNH contain a semiconducting polymer, hydrogen sulfide (H2S) donor, and indoleamine 2,3‐dioxygenase (IDO) inhibitor (NLG919), which are encapsulated by singlet oxygen (1O2)‐responsive shells with modification of hyaluronidase (HAase). After accumulation in orthotopic pancreatic tumor sites, SPNDNH degrade the major content of tumor microenvironment hyaluronic acid to promote nanoparticle enrichment and immune cell infiltration, and also release H2S to relieve tumor hypoxia via inhibiting mitochondrion functions. Moreover, the relieved hypoxia enables amplified sonodynamic therapy (SDT) under ultrasound (US) irradiation with generation of 1O2, which leads to immunogenic cell death (ICD) and destruction of 1O2‐responsive components to realize sono‐activatable NLG919 release for reversing IDO‐based immunosuppression. Through such a multiple remodeling mechanism, a potent antitumor immunological effect is triggered after SPNDNH‐based treatment. Therefore, the growths of orthotopic pancreatic tumors in mouse models are almost inhibited and tumor metastases are effectively restricted. This study offers a sono‐activatable nanoplatform to multiply remodel tumor microenvironment for effective and precise immunotherapy of deep‐tissue orthotopic tumors.

In order to improve the antimicrobial activity of Ag nanomaterial and minimum their toxicity, cinnamic acid has been utilized as both reducing agent and protecting ligand to synthesis of silver (Ag) nanoparticles (NPs). The synthesized cinnamic acid (CA) functionalized Ag nanoparticles (CA-AgNPs) have been characterized by Ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry (UV), Fourier transform infrared absorption spectra (FTIR), Atomic force microscope (AFM), Transmission electron microscope (TEM). UV absorption results indicated that a strong absorption band peaked at 452 nm which can be ascribed to the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) of AgNPs. FTIR results of CA-AgNPs indicated that cinnamic acid was indeed bound on the AgNPs. TEM measurements indicated that the products are round spherical NPs with the average particle size of 52.8 nm. Antimicrobial activity tests revealed that CA-AgNPs have significant inhibitory effects on E. coli and C. albicans. The CA-AgNPs prepared in this study are expected to be developed as efficient antimicrobial agents.

Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) plays crucial roles in antioxidation, anti-inflammation, and cytoprotection. Despite substantial progress in the design and synthesis of activatable H2S donors, methods for high-precision detection and imaging of released H2S in living systems have been lacking. In this study, a biothiol-activated near-infrared (NIR) fluorescent H2S donor, PRO-ST, was developed for real-time visualization of H2S release. PRO-ST consists of a dicyanoisophorone-based NIR fluorescence moiety (TCOO), a biothiol-trigger moiety (4-isothiocyanate benzyl alcohol), and a sulfur-source group (thiophosgene). PRO-ST exhibits high NIR fluorescence enhancement (45-fold), outstanding H2S release efficiency (73%), controllable H2S release (60 min), and excellent cell compatibility. These distinctive features enable PRO-ST to be applied in visualizing H2S release in cells, zebrafish, and mice. Moreover, PRO-ST exhibits excellent performance in visualizing real-time anti-inflammation and wound healing enhancement in biological systems, as confirmed by in situ visualization of H2S release. Thus, PRO-ST provides a versatile and effective method to detect and visualize H2S release, elucidate the mechanisms underlying wound healing, or optimize interventional therapy.

Bacteria are the key group of micro-organisms during the fermentation of Paocai. This study applied the high-throughput sequencing technology to trace the dynamics of Paocai brine bacterial community structures at constant temperature (25 ℃) under airtight microcosm condition. The results showed that there were 10 phyla and 205 genera had been detected within 30 days after the experiment setup. Among them, there were 12 dominant genera which accounted for 94.7%~97.8% of the total OTUs. The sub-dominant were 13 genera and accounted for 2.1%~3.3%. The rare genera were 180 genera and accounted for 0.08%~2.7%. During the 1~7 days after the experiment setup, the community was relatively stable (phase A). From the 8~20 days, the sub-dominant and rare genera were continuously changing (phase B), and on the 8th day, the communities of sub-dominant and rare genera were acutely fluctuated. From 22~30 days, all of the genera changed obviously (phase C). Meanwhile, the Chao1, Ace indices were increasing during 1~30 days, in addition, the Shannon and Simpson indices reached the thresholds during phase C. Therefore, phase A and B, phase B and C had the similar communities, but not the phase A and C, while the pH during the three phases changed correspondingly. The results also showed that at 25 ℃, the dynamics of sub-dominant and rare genera were the key factor which caused the dynamic of the bacterial communities in Paocai brine during the 30 days experiment. In addition, the accumulated effect had been detected, the pH and the bacterial communities havd mutual influences. The optimal preservation time for the Paocai brine was one week under airtight condition at 25 ℃. The functional effects of rare genera from Paocai brine need pay more attentions on.

Introduction: Although various therapies have been adopted to treat cancer, metastasis of tumor cells still is a big challenge that compromises therapeutic benefits.Methods: We herein report an injectable drug-loaded hybrid hydrogel that can achieve sonodynamic therapy (SDT) and chemodyanmic therapy (CDT) combined action and suppression of tumor metastasis. This alginate (ALG)-based hydrogel (termed as AMPS) contains manganese dioxide (MnO2) nanoparticles as the CDT agents, an organic polymer as the sonosensitizer, and a SIS3 drug as metastasis inhibitor.Results: AMPS is formed via the chelation of ALG by Ca2+ in tumor microenvironment, in which MnO2 nanoparticles mediate CDT via Fenton-like reaction and the organic polymers enable SDT under ultrasound (US) irradiation by generating singlet oxygen (1O2), allowing for combinational action of CDT and SDT. In addition, SIS3 is released from AMPS hydrogels to inhibit the metastasis of tumor cells. As such, the AMPS enables a combinational action of SDT and CDT to greatly inhibit the growths of subcutaneous tumors in living mice and also completely suppress the tumor metastasis in lungs and livers.Conclusion: This study thus offers a hybrid hydrogel platform for combinational therapy and metastasis suppression simultaneously.

To investigate the core fungal community succession and its effects of volatile compound production during different stages (D-1, D-2, D-3, E-4, E-5, and E-6) of Hengshui Laobaigan Baijiu, high-throughput sequencing (HTS) was carried out, accompanied by the identification and quantification of the volatile flavor compounds using headspace solid-phase coupled with gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (HS-SPME-GC-MS). HTS results demonstrated that the fungal community of stage D-1 was similar to that of E-4 after adding Daqu, while the richness and diversity of the fungal community were most prominent at stage E-6. Moreover, the addition of Daqu at the beginning of Ercha fermentation resulted in a significant increase in the relative abundances of the fungal community at the genus level, setting the stage for the production of volatile compounds. GC–MS analysis revealed the presence of a total of 45 volatile compounds. Combining the GC-MS result with the heat map and principal component analysis (PCA), the concentrations of volatile compounds were highest in stage E-5. Meanwhile, concentrations of esters, especially ethyl acetate, ethyl lactate, isoamyl acetate and ethyl hexanoate, were high in both stages E-5 and E-6. This indicated that stage E-5 was crucial to the fermentation process of Laobaigan Baijiu. Three fungal genera (Saccharomyces, Candida, and Pichia) were indicated as the core microbiota for the production of the main volatile flavor compounds of Laobaigan Baijiu through partial least square (PLS) analysis. The information provided in this study offered valuable insights into the fermentation mechanism of Laobaigan Baijiu, thereby serving as a theoretical framework for enhancing the quality of Baijiu and realizing cost-effective production.

Abstract To extend useful life, improve availability, and reduce gas turbine maintenance costs, scholars have proposed many gas‐path fault diagnostic approaches on the basis of steady‐state operating conditions. However, gas turbines increasingly have to operate more flexibly in grid‐supported modes. In transient operating mode, the service life of the gas turbine will be consumed faster compared with that in base‐load operating mode. In addition, the use of a variable geometry compressor has introduced new uncertainty in the actual diagnostic process, making the applicable boundaries of the original gas‐path diagnosis methods narrower and narrower. Regarding the issue above, a novel approach is proposed for fault diagnosis of gas turbine gas‐path components in power plants under a transient operating condition with the variable geometry compressor for the first time. First, the mathematical relationship of the influence of the compressor inlet guide vane position on the compressor flow and efficiency characteristics is deduced. And a high‐precision thermodynamic model for the purpose of performance analysis and gas‐path fault diagnosis is established, which comprehensively considers the above interference factors and includes health parameters of the main gas‐path components. Second, the thermodynamic model‐based diagnosis strategy under transient operating conditions with the variable geometry compressor is proposed and component health parameters can be quantitatively obtained. At last, the effectiveness and reliability of the method proposed are validated through both simulation test and actual operation test with good accuracy and real‐time performance to diagnose single and multiple component performance degradations, and component abrupt fault.

To improve the specificity of immunotherapy, here the authors report the design of a semiconducting polymer immunomodulatory nanoparticle with sonodynamic process to remotely release immune-modulators for deep-tissue precision cancer sono-immunotherapy.

Introduction: Carbon dioxide emissions from non-volcanic areas are undervalued in the carbon cycle.Methods: First estimates of diffuse CO2 flux from the Anninghe—Zemuhe fault (AZF), Southeastern Tibetan Plateau, China, which suggests this could equal 15% emissions from all volcanoes in China. Following the accumulation chamber method, CO2 flux was investigated at 1,483 points, and along 67 profiles crossing the AZF. Results and discussion: Total CO2 emissions from the AZF were estimated 1.2 Mt yr-1. The relationship between soil gas CO2 fluxes, earthquakes, and fault activity was discussed. The intense fault activity in the southern part of the Zemuhe fault (ZMHF) and the northern part of the Anninghe fault (ANH) was inferred, which could have enhanced the porosity of the soil, and accelerated the water-rock interactions and soil gas emission within the fault zone. The chemical and isotopic data indicated that biogenic CO2 was the primary source of CO2 from the AZF. Produced by interactions between groundwaters and carbonates, soil gas CO2 could migrate to the near surface through cracks. Spatial variations of CO2 flux in soil gas indicate that seismic activity could be responsible for the jumpy variations of CO2 flux. The diffuse CO2 from deep faults may contribute considerably to the greenhouse gas cycles.

BackgroundA few studies have focused on electrocardiography (ECG) parameters correlating with clinical prognosis in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) combined with new-onset right bundle branch block (RBBB).ObjectiveTo assess the prognostic value of a new ECG parameter, namely, the ratio of QRS duration/RV6-V1 interval (QRS/RV6-V1), in patients with AMI combined with new-onset RBBB.Materials and methodsA total of 272 AMI patients combined with new-onset RBBB who received primary percutaneous coronary intervention (P-PCI) were retrospectively enrolled in the study. First, the patients were divided into survival group and non-survival group. Demographic, angiographic, and ECG characteristics were compared between the two groups. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to screen the best ECG parameter for predicting 1-year mortality. Second, the ratio of QRS/RV6-V1, a continuous variable, was converted to the high ratio group and low ratio group according to the optimal cutoff value point determined by the X-tile software. We compared the patient’s demographic, angiographic, and ECG characteristics, in-hospital major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE), and 1-year mortality between the two groups. Multivariate logistic and Cox regressions were used to evaluate whether the ratio of QRS/RV6-V1 was an independent prognostic factor of in-hospital MACE and 1-year mortality.ResultsThe ROC curve showed that the ratio of QRS/RV6-V1 had a higher value for predicting in-hospital MACE and 1-year mortality than the QRS duration, RV6-V1 interval, and RV1 interval. The patients in the high ratio group had significantly higher CK-MB peak and Killip class, lower ejection fraction (EF%), higher ratio of the left anterior (LAD) descending artery as infarct-related artery (IRA), and longer total ischemia time (TIT) than those in the low ratio group. The QRS duration was wider in the high ratio group than that in the low ratio group, whereas RV6-V1 was narrower in the high ratio group compared with that in the low ratio group. The in-hospital MACE rate (93.3% vs. 31.0%, p 3.0) was a valuable predictor of short- and long-term adverse clinical outcomes in AMI patients combined with new-onset RBBB. The implications of the high ratio of QRS/RV6-V1 were severe ischemia and pseudo synchronization between bi-ventricle.

Abstract Immunotherapy is an attractive treatment strategy for cancer, while its efficiency and safety need to be improved. A dual‐cascade activatable nanopotentiator for sonodynamic therapy (SDT) and chemodynamic therapy (CDT)‐cooperated immunotherapy of deep tumors via reshaping adenosine metabolism is herein reported. This nanopotentiator (NPMCA) is constructed through crosslinking adenosine deaminase (ADA) with chlorin e6 (Ce6)‐conjugated manganese dioxide (MnO2) nanoparticles via a reactive oxygen species (ROS)‐cleavable linker. In the tumor microenvironment with ultrasound (US) irradiation, NPMCA mediates CDT and SDT concurrently in deep tumors covered with 2‐cm tissues to produce abundant ROS, which results in dual‐cascade scissoring of ROS‐cleavable linkers to activate ADA within NCMCA to block adenosine metabolism. Moreover, immunogenic cell death (ICD) of dying tumor cells and upregulation of the stimulator of interferon genes (STING) is triggered by the generated ROS and Mn2+ from NPMCA, respectively, leading to activation of antitumor immune response. The potency of immune response is further reinforced by reducing the accumulation of adenosine in tumor microenvironment by the activated ADA. As a result, NPMCA enables CDT and SDT‐cooperated immunotherapy, showing an obviously improved therapeutic efficacy to inhibit the growths of bilateral tumors, in which the primary tumors are covered with 2‐cm tissues.

Ultrasound-based therapies in combination with immune checkpoint blockade have been shown to improve the efficacy of cancer immunotherapy. Here the authors report the design of a pH-responsive and sono-irradiation activatable nanosystem functionalized with anti-PD-L1 and adenosine deaminase for sono-metabolic cancer immunotherapy.

Abstract Infrared neural stimulation with the assistance of photothermal transducers holds great promise as a mini-invasive neural modulation modality. Optical nanoparticles with the absorption in the near-infrared (NIR) window have emerged as excellent photothermal transducers due to their good biocompatibility, surface modifiability, and tunable optical absorption. However, poor activation efficiency and limited stimulation depth are main predicaments encountered in the neural stimulation mediated by these nanoparticles. In this study, we prepared a targeted polydopamine (PDA)-coated gold (Au) nanoparticles with specific binding to thermo-sensitive ion channel as nanotransducers for second near-infrared (NIR-II) photo-stimulation of neurons in rats. The targeted Au nanoparticles were constructed via conjugation of anti-TRPV1 antibody with PEGylated PDA-coated Au nanoparticles and thus exhibited potent photothermal performance property in the second NIR (NIR-II) window and converted NIR-II light to heat to rapidly activate Ca2+ influx of neurons in vitro. Furthermore, wireless photothermal stimulation of neurons in living rat successfully evoke excitation in neurons in the targeted brain region as deep as 5 mm beneath cortex. This study thus demonstrates a remote-controlled strategy for neuromodulation using photothermal nanotransducers.

Abstract Bioenzymes that catalyze reactions within living systems show a great promise for cancer therapy, particularly when they are integrated with nanoparticles to improve their accumulation into tumor sites. Nanomedicines can deliver toxic bioenzymes into cancer cells to directly cause their death for cancer treatment. By modulating the tumor microenvironment, such as pH, glucose concentration, hypoxia, redox levels and heat shock protein expression, bioenzyme-based nanomedicines play crucial roles in improving the therapeutic efficacy of treatments. Moreover, bioenzyme-mediated degradation of the major components in tumor extracellular matrix greatly increases the penetration and retention of nanoparticles in deep tumors and infiltration of immune cells into tumor tissues, thus enhancing the efficacies of chemotherapy, phototherapy and immunotherapy. In this review, we summarize the recent progresses of bioenzyme-based nanomedicines for enhanced cancer therapy. The design and working mechanisms of the bioenzyme-based nanomedicines to achieve enhanced chemotherapy, photothermal therapy, photodynamic therapy, chemodynamic therapy, radiotherapy and immunotherapy are introduced in detail. At the end of this review, a conclusion and current challenges and perspectives in this field are given.

Abstract Regulation of stimulator of interferon genes (STING) pathway using agonists can boost antitumor immunity for cancer treatment, while the rapid plasma clearance, limited membrane permeability, and inefficient cytosolic transport of STING agonists greatly compromise their therapeutic efficacy. In this study, we describe an extracellular matrix (ECM)-degrading nanoagonist (dNAc) with second near-infrared (NIR-II) light controlled activation of intracellular STING pathway for mild photothermal-augmented chemodynamic-immunotherapy of breast cancer. The dNAc consists of a thermal-responsive liposome inside loading with ferrous sulfide (FeS2) nanoparticles as both NIR-II photothermal converters and Fenton catalysts, 2′3′-cyclic guanosine monophosphate-adenosine monophosphate (cGAMP) as the STING agonist, and an ECM-degrading enzyme (bromelain) on the liposome surface. Mild heat generated by dNAc upon NIR-II photoirradiation improves Fenton reaction efficacy to kill tumor cells and cause immunogenic cell death (ICD). Meanwhile, the generated heat triggers a controlled release of cGAMP from thermal-responsive liposomes to active STING pathway. The mild photothermal activation of STING pathway combined with ICD promotes anti-tumor immune responses, which leads to improved infiltration of effector T cells into tumor tissues after bromelain-mediated ECM degradation. As a result, after treatment with dNAc upon NIR-II photoactivation, both primary and distant tumors in a murine mouse model are inhibited and the liver and lung metastasis are effectively suppressed. This work presents a photoactivatable system for STING pathway and combinational immunotherapy with improved therapeutic outcome. Graphical Abstract

Significant anomalous hydrogeochemical changes in hot spring water are detected during strong seismic cycles. It is now necessary to clarify the relationship between tectonic movements, earthquakes and the evolution of hot springs. In this paper, laboratory analyses of major, trace elements, δD, δ18O and 87Sr/86Sr values of 28 hot spring waters in the Jinshajiang fault zone (JSJFZ) in the northwestern boundary of the Sichuan-Yunnan block were conducted. The results showed that the primary source of water for JSJFZ hot springs was atmospheric precipitation. The geothermal reservoir temperature variation based on the silicon enthalpy mixing model ranged from 73 to 272°C. And the circulation depth range was 1.2–5.4 km. The segmentation characteristics of the 87Sr/86Sr values were related to the influence of source rocks on groundwater cycle processes. A conceptual model of the hydrologic cycle of hot springs explained the spatial distribution of earthquakes associated with tectonic movements. The Batang segment had the strongest water-rock reaction, the highest reservoir temperature and the deepest circulation depth; meanwhile, it was also an earthquake prone area. The fluid circulation of the JSJFZ corresponds well with the seismicity, which indicates that the hydrological characteristics of the hot spring water in a fracture zone play a crucial role in receiving information on seismic activity.

Geochemical investigation on the origin and circulation of geothermal water is crucial for better understanding the interaction between hydrosphere and lithosphere. Previous studies on the Himalayan geothermal belt mainly distributed in the central and eastern Tibetan Plateau. In this study, water samples (8 hot springs and 1 cold spring) from the Karakorum fault (KKF) zone of western Tibetan Plateau were analyzed for the hydrogeochemical characteristics and isotopic compositions. Three types of spring water along the KKF were classified on basis of ionic concentration and Sr isotopic composition: type A water (HCO3–Mg or Ca), type B water (HCO3–Na) and type C water (Cl–Na). Type A water is originated from the infiltration of meteoric water and the dissolution of silicate/evaporite. Type B water is mainly leached from the metamorphic and granitoid rocks. Type C water is formed by the dissolution of chlorides and sulphates. δD and δ18O isotopes indicate that geothermal fluid along the fault zone was mainly recharged by local precipitation. Moreover, reservoir temperatures of 144.2–208.6°C were estimated by the silica–enthalpy mixing model, and the thermal waters have a relatively deep circulation depth (≥ 7.0 km). Meanwhile, the thermal waters are characterized by extremely high Li, B, Fe and As concentrations and earthquakes frequently happened in the vicinity, suggesting that the KKF is a deep and active fault, which also indicates that the thermal fluids are strongly associated with seismicity. Therefore, thermal fluid can potentially be used as continuous monitoring sites for earthquake forecasting.

Nanomedicines have shown a promising strategy for cancer therapy because of their higher safety and efficiency relative to small-molecule drugs, while the dense extracellular matrix (ECM) in tumors often acts as a physical barrier to hamper the accumulation and diffusion of nanoparticles, thus compromising the anticancer efficacy. To address this issue, two major strategies including degrading ECM components and inhibiting ECM formation have been adopted to enhance the therapeutic efficacies of nanomedicines. In this review, we summarize the recent progresses of tumor ECM modulating strategies for enhanced antitumor therapy of nanomedicines. Through degrading ECM components or inhibiting ECM formation, the accumulation and diffusion of nanoparticles in tumors can be facilitated, leading to enhanced efficacies of chemotherapy and phototherapy. Moreover, the ECM degradation can improve the infiltration of immune cells into tumor tissues, thus achieving strong immune response to reject tumors. The adoptions of these two ECM modulating strategies to improve the efficacies of chemotherapy, phototherapy, and immunotherapy are discussed in detail. A conclusion, current challenges and outlook are then given.

BackgroundThe strategy of ablation index (AI)-guided high-power ablation seems to be a novel strategy for performing pulmonary vein isolation (PVI). An AI-guided high-power ablation strategy was used in this study to determine whether superior vena cava isolation (SVCI) after PVI was feasible and safe for patients with AF.MethodsData from 53 patients with AF were collected. Mapping and ablation of SVC were performed. The applied power was set at 45 W and the procedure was guided by AI. The SVC was divided into six segments in a cranial view. The RF applications and AI values in different segments were compared and analyzed. Using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis, the diagnostic accuracy of AI value for predicting segment block was evaluated.ResultsElectrical SVCIs were successfully achieved in all patients. SVCI was performed by segment ablation in most cases, with RF applications in different segments. The mean AI value in non-lateral walls was higher than that of the lateral wall (392 ± 28 vs. 371 ± 37, P < 0.001). Acutely blocked sites had significantly larger AI values compared with no-blocked sites (390 ± 30 vs. 343 ± 23, P < 0.001). The optimal AI cut-off value for non-lateral segments was 379 (sensitivity: 75.9%, specificity: 100%) and for lateral segments was 345 (sensitivity: 82.3%, specificity: 100%).ConclusionThe AI values were predictive of the acute conduction block of SVCI. With AI values of 345 and 379, respectively, conduction block was achieved in the lateral walls at a lower level than in the non-lateral walls.

Developing a soy protein-based (SP) adhesive with robust coating and prepressing properties for broad applications in wood-based panels presents a challenge. In this study, a “bond-stitch” topological structure was constructed in a SP adhesive to improve coating ability and prepressing bond strength by incorporating dopamine-grafted sodium alginate (SD) as stitching materials and zinc sulfate (ZnSO4) into soybean meal–polyamide–epichlorohydrin (SM/PAE) adhesive. Abundant catechol groups on SD enhance the interfacial interaction between the adhesive and wood, and the topological entanglement of SD and the SM/PAE covalent network enhances the cohesion of the adhesive, synergistically endowing the adhesive with excellent prepressing intensity (0.83 MPa) and wet shear strength (1.09 MPa). Simultaneously, the improved initial adhesion and the suitable viscosity result in its excellent coating performance. The combination of ZnSO4 endows the adhesive with satisfactory antibacterial activity and mildew resistance. This method exhibits considerable potential for application in bio-based adhesives, hydrogels, and composites.

The Qilian–Haiyuan fault zone (QHF) is located in a highly deformed and seismically active area of the northeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau. This study investigated the major elements, strontium, hydrogen, and oxygen isotopes of 22 sites in the thermal springs along the QHF from October to November 2020. The QHF hydrochemical system is recharged by meteoric water primarily infiltrating between 2.8 and 4.4 km a.s.l. Based on quartz geothermometers, the geothermal reservoir temperature variation ranged from 25.5 to 111.3°C, and the circulation depth ranged from 1.3 to 5.6 km. In the QHF zone, the highest spring water temperature values were correlated with deep groundwater circulation circuits in areas where earthquake foci are concentrated. A conceptual model of the hydrologic cycle of thermal springs explains the spatial distribution of earthquakes associated with tectonic movements. The fluid circulation of the QHF corresponds well with the seismicity, which indicates that the hydrological characteristics of the thermal spring in a fault zone are vital in receiving information on seismic activity to assess the seismic risk of the QHF in the future.

Abstract Reversible lysine methylation is essential for regulating histones and emerges to critically regulate non-histone proteins as well. Here we show that the master transcription factor OCT4 in pluripotent stem cells (PSCs) was methylated at multiple lysine residues. LSD1 that is highly expressed in PSCs can directly interact with and demethylate OCT4 at lysine 222 (K222) in the flexible linker region. Reduced LSD1 activity led to the methylation of OCT4-K222 that diminished the differentiation potential of PSCs while facilitating proteasome-independent degradation of OCT4 proteins. Furthermore, site-specifically replacing K222 with phenylalanine to mimic the constitutively methylated lysine promoted the ‘locked-in’ mode engagement of the OCT4 PORE-homodimers that tightly bind to and block the transcription of multiple PORE-motif-containing target genes regulating cell fate determination and cell junction organization, and thereby reducing the pluripotency of PSCs. Thus, LSD1-mediated demethylation of OCT4 plays a crucial role in restricting the ‘locked-in’ mode binding of OCT4 PORE-homodimers to the PORE-motif-containing genes and thereby maintaining their transcription to safeguard the pluripotency of PSCs.

Proteolysis targeting chimeras (PROTACs) is an effective alternative to modulate protein homeostasis but can lead to uncontrollable protein degradation and off-target side effects. Here, the authors developed semiconducting polymer nano-PROTACs with phototherapeutic and activatable protein degradation abilities for photo-immunometabolic cancer therapy.

Abstract Malignant glioma remains incurable largely due to the aggressive and infiltrative nature, as well as the existence of blood–brain-barrier (BBB). Precise diagnosis of glioma, which aims to accurately delineate the tumor boundary for guiding surgical resection and provide reliable feedback of the therapeutic outcomes, is the critical step for successful treatment. Numerous imaging modalities have been developed for the efficient diagnosis of tumors from structural or functional aspects. However, the presence of BBB largely hampers the entrance of contrast agents (Cas) or probes into the brain, rendering the imaging performance highly compromised. The development of nanomaterials provides promising strategies for constructing nano-sized Cas or probes for accurate imaging of glioma owing to the BBB crossing ability and other unique advantages of nanomaterials, such as high loading capacity and stimuli-responsive properties. In this review, the recent progress of nanomaterials applied in single modal imaging modality and multimodal imaging for a comprehensive diagnosis is thoroughly summarized. Finally, the prospects and challenges are offered with the hope for its better development.

Data attacks from illegal access devices of the Internet of Things will cause serious interference and threats to the entire network. It is difficult to ensure the security of the communication system only by relying on traditional application layer password authentication methods. Therefore, it is of great significance to design an effective physical layer authentication system based on radio frequency fingerprints. Regarding the issue above, this paper proposes a novel physical layer authentication method for Internet of Things based on differential contour stellar. Through the test of identification and authentication of 20 WiFi network card devices from same manufacturer, same type and same batch, the recognition accuracy rate can reach 98.6% by the proposed method. The proposed method can improve the effect of radio frequency fingerprint identification from three aspects: i. The differential processing can effectively reduce the negative influence of phase rotation caused by carrier frequency offset and Doppler effects; ii. The color processing can effectively reduce the negative influence of random noise caused by channel noise; iii. It is suitable for processing large-scale networks and the massive data they bring.

As the core power for the aviation industry, shipbuilding industry, and power station industry, it is essential to ensure that the gas turbines operate safely, reliably, greenly and efficiently. Learn from the advantages and disadvantages of the thermodynamic model based and data-driven artificial intelligence based gas-path diagnosis methods, a newfangled gas turbine gas-path diagnosis approach on the basis of knowledge data-driven artificial intelligence is proposed. That is a hybrid method of deep learning and gas path analysis. First, gas turbine thermodynamic model of the object to be diagnosed is constructed by adaptation modeling strategy. And the engine thermodynamic model is taken as the basal model to simulate various gas path faults. Secondly, a large number of knowledge data corresponding to component health parameters and gas turbine boundary condition parameters & gas-path measurable parameters are simulated by setting different component health parameter values and different boundary conditions based on this basal model. And next, define the vector composed of the boundary condition parameters & the gas path measurable parameters in the knowledge database as the input vector, and the component health parameter vector as the output vector, and a deep learning model for regression modeling of this knowledge database is designed. At last, along with the gas turbine engine runs, the trained model outputs component health parameters in real time after trained deep learning model is deployed to the corresponding gas turbine power plant. The simulation experiment results show that, accurate and quantified health parameters of each gas path component can be obtained by the proposed method in this paper, and the overall root mean square error does not exceed 0.033%, and the maximum relative error does not exceed 0.36%, which illustrates the proposed method has great application potential.

Data assaults from unauthorized access to the Internet of Things will induce severe intrusion and hazard to the whole network. Employing only traditional application layer password authentication approaches cannot guarantee the security of the communication system. Therefore, it is critical to develop a capable and efficient radio frequency fingerprints based physical layer authentication system. To incorporate the domain knowledge in more capable feature extracting and reduce information loss caused by converting RF baseband I/Q signals, we propose a novel differential complex-valued convolutional neural network based individual recognition approach of communication radiation sources in the paper. The proposed method can fully capture the nonlinearity of the RF baseband I/Q signals while decreasing the unfavorable impact of phase rotation induced by carrier frequency offset, which also significantly reduces the required data length of the collected steady-state data transmission section. The recognition performance evaluation on 20 wireless network card devices with duplicate batch, type, and manufacturer shows that the proposed approach has the best recognition performance compared with two conventional approaches whose recognition accuracies are lower than 95%, achieving the total recognition accuracy of 99.7%. Moreover, compared with constellation based approaches, which require at least 5,000 to 10,000 data points as input parameters, the proposed method can reduce the required data length of the collected steady-state data transmission section effectively, which is easier to implement in practical applications.

Hepatic carcinoma is one of the most common cancers worldwide, while its treatment remains a great challenge. Traditional therapeutic methods often have disadvantages such as limited therapeutic efficacy and potential side effects. In this study, we report the construction of bovine serum albumin (BSA)–stabilized manganese oxide (MnO2)/semiconducting polymer (SP) nanocomposites to combine photothermal therapy (PTT) and chemodynamic therapy (CDT) for treatment of hepatic carcinoma in living mouse models. Such nanocomposites are composed of BSA, SP, and MnO2 as the stabilizer, PTT, and CDT agent, respectively. SP produced local heat under near-infrared (NIR) laser irradiation for PTT, and MnO2 nanoparticles mediated CDT in the tumor microenvironment, leading to apoptosis of cancer cells. Such nanocomposite-mediated combinational therapy showed a much higher efficacy in inhibiting growth of subcutaneous HepG2 tumors in nude mice than sole treatment. This study thus provides a multifunctional nanoplatform for safe and effective treatment of hepatic carcinoma.

Abstract Drug delivery systems (DDSs) based on nanomaterials have shown a promise for cancer chemotherapy; however, it remains a great challenge to localize on-demand release of anticancer drugs in tumor tissues to improve therapeutic effects and minimize the side effects. In this regard, photoresponsive DDSs that employ light as an external stimulus can offer a precise spatiotemporal control of drug release at desired sites of interest. Most photoresponsive DDSs are only responsive to ultraviolet-visible light that shows phototoxicity and/or shallow tissue penetration depth, and thereby their applications are greatly restricted. To address these issues, near-infrared (NIR) photoresponsive DDSs have been developed. In this review, the development of NIR photoresponsive DDSs in last several years for cancer photo-chemotherapy are summarized. They can achieve on-demand release of drugs into tumors of living animals through photothermal, photodynamic, and photoconversion mechanisms, affording obviously amplified therapeutic effects in synergy with phototherapy. Finally, the existing challenges and further perspectives on the development of NIR photoresponsive DDSs and their clinical translation are discussed.

Due to tumour microenvironment, Fenton reactions have low therapeutic efficiency. Here the authors report on the application of NIR-II hybrid semiconducting nanozymes for combined photothermal therapy and enhanced ferrotherapy with photoacoustic imaging and show application in vivo in tumour models.

Abstract Background LincRNAs have been revealed to be tightly associated with various tumorigeneses and cancer development, but the roles of specific lincRNA on tumor-related angiogenesis was hardly studied. Here, we aimed to investigate whether linc-OIP5 in breast cancer cells affects the angiogenesis of HUVECs and whether the linc-OIP5 regulations are involved in angiogenesis-related Notch and Hippo signaling pathways. Methods A trans-well system co-cultured HUVECs with linc-OIP5 knockdown breast cancer cell MDA-MB-231 was utilized to study the proliferation, migration and tube formation abilities of HUVECs and alterations of related signaling indicators in breast cancer cells and their conditioned medium through a series of cell and molecular experiments. Results Overexpressed linc-OIP5, YAP1, and JAG1 were found in breast cancer cell lines MCF7 and MDA-MB-231 and the expression levels of YAP1 and JAG1 were proportional to the breast cancer tissue grades. MDA-MB-231 cells with linc-OIP5 knockdown led to weakened proliferation, migration, and tube formation capacity of co-cultured HUVECs. Besides, linc-OIP5 knockdown in co-cultured MDA-MB-231 cells showed downregulated YAP1 and JAG1 expression, combined with a reduced JAG1 level in conditioned medium. Furthermore, a disrupted DLL4/Notch/NRP1 signaling in co-cultured HUVECs were also discovered under this condition. Conclusion Hence, linc-OIP5 in MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells may act on the upstream of the YAP1/Notch/NRP1 signaling circuit to affect proliferation, migration, and tube formation of co-cultured HUVECs in a non-cellular direct contact way through JAG1 in conditioned medium. These findings at least partially provide a new angiogenic signaling circuit in breast cancers and suggest linc-OIP5 could be considered as a therapeutic target in angiogenesis of breast cancers.

Radio frequency fingerprint identification is a non-password authentication method based on the physical layer hardware of the communication device. Deep learning methods provide new ideas and techniques for radio frequency fingerprint identification. As a bridge between electromagnetic signal recognition and deep learning, the electromagnetic signal recognition method based on statistical constellation still needs to go through data preprocessing and feature engineering, which is contrary to the end-to-end learning method emphasized by deep learning. Moreover, in the process of converting electromagnetic signal waveform data into images, there is inevitably information loss. Establishing a universal radio frequency fingerprint recognition model suitable for wireless communication scenarios is not only conducive to optimizing the communication system, but also can reduce the cost and time of model selection. Therefore, how to design a deep learning radio frequency fingerprint recognition model suitable for wireless communication is an important problem for researchers. Aiming at the problem that the existing radio frequency fingerprint extraction and identification methods have low recognition rate of communication radiation source individuals, a radio frequency fingerprint identification method based on deep complex residual network is proposed. Through the deep complex residual network, the radio frequency fingerprint feature extraction of the communication radiation source individual is integrated with the recognition process, and an end-to-end deep learning model suitable for wireless communication is established, which greatly improves the identification accuracy of the communication radiation source individuals compared with typical constellation based methods.

The biped robot adopts the human movement mode. Compared with other movement modes, the gait has good flexibility and adaptability. It is very important in the research of robotics, so it has become a hot spot of robotics research. This article aims to study the application of neural networks in the stability of biped robots and the embedded control of walking mode. A method of establishing precise mathematical modeling and stability analysis is proposed. Based on this model, the motion characteristics of the biped robot’s walking mode and the local stability of joints are studied, and the motion mode of passive walking under the control of the neural network is deeply analyzed, using a neural network to control the stability of biped robot motion and adopting the research method of the embedded control system in walking mode. Essentially, the output value of the physical network is used to judge whether the robot is in a stable position so as to perform appropriate actions and control the robot’s stability of walking. The experimental results show that the biped robot can detect movement and overcome obstacles through related networks and embedded control systems. Through the control of the embedded system, the errors of each joint of the biped robot on flat ground, stairs, and obstacles are greatly reduced. The most obvious reduction of the deviation is that the ankle joint decreases from 2.5 to 0.07 when rotating, and the knee joint angle deviation is reduced from 3.8 to 2, which greatly improves the stability of the biped robot’s walking mode.

Hydrogeochemical characterization studies are regarded as an important method for determining the origin of hot springs. The major elements, trace elements, and stable isotopes of four groups of hot spring water samples and two groups of gas samples collected from the intersection of the Altyn Tagh fault zone and the East Kunlun fault belt were investigated in this study. The hot spring water temperature ranged between 6 °C and 14 °C. The water chemistry types of the hot springs were Na·Mg-Cl, Mg·Na-Cl·HCO3, Na-Cl·SO4, and Na-Cl·HCO3. The δD values ranged from −50.00% to −68.60%, while the δ18O values ranged from −6.90% to −8.60%. The hot spring water was recharged mainly by infiltrating precipitation, with a recharge elevation of 3390~3676 m. The heat storage temperature ranged from 66.7 to 164.9 °C. The circulation depth was estimated to range between 1043 and 2679 m. The strontium isotopic composition of the water samples in response to the main weathering sources comprised carbonate and sulfate. CO2 was the main component in the hot spring gas in the study region, and its content was over 95%. The 3He/4He-R/Ra relationship diagram revealed that the mantle-sourced helium from the Yitunbulake spring was 3.06%. In comparison, that from the Aiken spring was 7.38%, which indicated an intrusion of mantle-source material mixed into the hot springs in the study region. The crustal marine limestone contributed significantly to the carbon inventory of the hot spring gas samples (>75%). The dissolution of the marl aquifer resulted in the release of CO2. Carbon was primarily obtained through metamorphism and hydrothermal reactions in the basement lithologies. The Yitunbulake and Aiken hot springs are found near the intersection of the Arjin and East Kunlun fractures, where the water–rock response is relatively strong and the depth of circulation and thermal storage temperature are both high. This causes relatively high ambient pressure to be released from the deep fluid, resulting in microseismic activity in this region. The continuous observation of Aiken spring water chemistry allows for the monitoring of fracture activity in the region. The results of the study could serve as a foundation for further exploration of the relationship between geothermal water and deep faults, shallow geological formations, hydrogeological conditions, and geothermal resource development in the region.

Immunotherapy is a promising therapeutic strategy for cancer, while it has been demonstrated to encounter the issues of low immune responses and underlying immune-related adverse events. The sonodynamic therapy (SDT) that utilizes sonosensitizers to produce reactive oxygen species (ROS) triggered by ultrasound (US) stimulation can be used to ablate tumors, which also leads to the induction of immunogenic cell death (ICD), thus achieving SDT-induced immunotherapy. Further combination of SDT with immunotherapy is able to afford enhanced antitumor immunity for tumor regression. In this mini review, we summarize the recent development of nanosonosensitizers with US-induced ROS generation for cancer SDT immunotherapy. The uses of nanosonosensitizers to achieve SDT-induced immunotherapy, combinational therapy of SDT with immunotherapy, and combinational therapy of SDT with multiple immunotherapies are briefly introduced. Furthermore, the current concerns and perspectives for the development and further clinical applications of these nanosonosensitizers for SDT-combined immunotherapy of cancer are discussed.

At present, the main purpose of gas turbine fault prediction is to predict the performance decline trend of the whole system, but the quantitative and thorough performance health index (PHI) research of every major component is lacking. Regarding the issue above, a long-short term memory and gas path analysis (GPA) based gas turbine fault diagnosis and prognosis method is proposed, which realizes the coupling of fault diagnosis and prognosis process. The measurable gas path parameters (GPPs) and the health parameters (HP) of every main component of the goal engine are obtained through the adaptive modeling strategy and the gas path diagnosis method based on the thermodynamic model. The predictive model of the Long-Short Term Memory (LSTM) network combines the measurable GPPs and the diagnostic HPs to predict the HPs of each major component in the future. Simulation experiments show that the proposed method can effectively diagnose and predict detailed, quantified, and accurate PHIs of the main components. Among them, the maximum root mean square error (RMSE) of the diagnosed component HPs do not exceed 0.193%. The RMSE of the best prediction model is 0.232%, 0.029%, 0.069%, and 0.043% in the HP prediction results of each component, respectively.

Photothermal therapy (PTT) that utilizes hyperthermia to ablate cancer cells is a promising approach for cancer therapy, while the generated high temperature may lead to damage of surrounding normal tissues and inflammation. We herein report the construction of glucose oxidase (GOx)-loaded hydrogels with a pH-sensitive photothermal conversion property for combinational cancer therapy at mild-temperature. The hydrogels (defined as CAG) were formed via coordination of alginate solution containing pH-sensitive charge-transfer nanoparticles (CTNs) as the second near-infrared (NIR-II) photothermal agents and GOx. In the tumor sites, GOx was gradually released from CAG to consume glucose for tumor starvation and aggravate acidity in tumor microenvironment that could turn on the NIR-II photothermal conversion property of CTNs. Meanwhile, the released GOx could suppress the expression of heat shock proteins to enable mild NIR-II PTT under 1,064 nm laser irradiation. As such, CAG mediated a combinational action of mild NIR-II PTT and starvation therapy, not only greatly inhibiting the growth of subcutaneously implanted tumors in a breast cancer murine model, but also completely preventing lung metastasis. This study thus provides an enzyme loaded hydrogel platform with a pH-sensitive photothermal effect for mild-temperature-mediated combinational cancer therapy.

Abstract Background Over the years, long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been clarified in malignancies, this research was focused on the role of lncRNA cartilage injury-related (lncRNA-CIR) in osteosarcoma cells. Methods LncRNA-CIR expression in osteosarcoma tissues and cells, and adjacent normal tissues and normal osteoblasts was determined, then the relations between lncRNA-CIR expression and the clinicopathological features, and between lncRNA-CIR expression and the prognosis of osteosarcoma patients were analyzed. Moreover, the MG63 and 143B cells were treated with silenced or overexpressed lncRNA-CIR, and then the proliferation, invasion, migration and apoptosis of the cells were evaluated by gain- and loss-of-function approaches. The tumor growth, and proliferation and apoptosis of osteosarcoma cells in vivo were observed by subcutaneous tumorigenesis in nude mice. Results We have found that lncRNA-CIR was up-regulated in osteosarcoma tissues and cells, which was respectively relative to adjacent normal tissues and normal osteoblasts. The expression of lncRNA-CIR was evidently correlated with disease stages, distant metastasis and differentiation of osteosarcoma patients, and the high expression of lncRNA-CIR indicated a poor prognosis. Furthermore, the reduction of lncRNA-CIR could restrict proliferation, invasion and migration, but promote apoptosis of osteosarcoma cells in vitro. Meanwhile, inhibited lncRNA-CIR also restrained tumor growth and osteosarcoma cell proliferation, whereas accelerated apoptosis of osteosarcoma cells in vivo. Conclusion We have found in this study that the inhibited lncRNA-CIR could decelerate proliferation, invasion and migration, but accelerate apoptosis of osteosarcoma cells, which may provide a novel target for osteosarcoma treatment.
