The need to provide culturally sensitive care for older adults with immigrant backgrounds has been expressed by care professionals. Meanwhile there is a lack of consensus about how this should be done, and critical perspectives in research highlight the danger of causing this group to be viewed as problem bearers. This thesis explores the possibility of using the welfare theory of health to achieve cultural sensitivity while limiting the risk of othering. It uses a goal-oriented perspective of health that could be useful in an active ageing context. Study I used a mixed-methods design and the Delphi method. Study II used a quantitative design and survey method. Study III used a qualitative design and semi-structured interviews. Study IV used a qualitative design and vignette method. Study I showed that municipal decision-makers in eldercare find it hard to agree on what cultural sensitivity entails. They prefer to consider individual preferences in less complex cases, but look for fixed cultural categories in more complex cases. Study II showed that the welfare theory of health can be used as a viable, personal, holistic approach to health among older adults, and that it can be measured with the HACT questionnaire. Study III built on the questionnaire in Study II, expanding it to include immaterial capital theory. It elucidated how immaterial resources of older adults with immigrant backgrounds, such as social capital, influence their goals related to good ageing. Study IV showed that assistant nurses could use the welfare theory of health to increase cultural sensitivity in their work. However, like the decision makers, they looked for fixed cultural categories in more complex cases. The thesis shows how the welfare theory of health can be used to conceptualize cultural sensitive care with a starting point in the personal goals of older adults with immigrant backgrounds. With the help of immaterial capital theory, the thesis can shed light on the importance of immaterial resources, such as social capital, both in forming those goals and as resources to achieve them. With this knowledge, decisions and practices aiming to provide culturally sensitive care could be based on assessments of needs and resources without relying on preconceived and fixed ideas about other cultures.

Purpose: The purpose of this essay is to answer the research questions by carrying out a qualitative investigation into how the personnel of a business acquisition are integrated into the purchasing company's organization. We also want to investigate the importance of HRM during a business acquisition and its impact on the outcome. Conclusion: HR is a contributing factor to a successful acquisition, but not decisive. Communication, transparency and clarity are important factors.

Denna litteraturanalys går igenom åtgärderna för de problem som förekommer vid skapandet av online pvp-spel. Några av de vanliga problem som kan stötas på innefattar fördröjning, paketförlust, fusk, skalbarhet, synkronisering, uppdateringsfrekvens och säkerhet. Dessa problem kan sedan negativt påverka andra aspekter av spelet, inte minst game feel. För att förhindra detta bör specifika åtgärder implementeras. Inom just online pvp-spel kan grunden till nätverkshanteringen skapas med en klient/server-uppsättning som skickar små och snabba datapaket med hjälp av nätverksprotokollet UDP. Ytterligare lösningar som “dumma klienter”, “client-side prediction”, “server reconciliation”, “interpolation”, historik och tidsstämplar i datapaketen kan användas för att förbättra spelupplevelsen. I kombination med varandra skapar dessa åtgärder en stabil nätverksinfrastruktur för ett online pvp-spel. Då vissa av dessa tekniker kan kräva en del prestanda både på klienten och servern kan framtida arbeten kring dessa lösningar fokusera på optimering.

Background. In high-risk areas, a reliable and secure internet connection is not always guaranteed. If the terrestrial internet infrastructure is damaged due to armed conflicts in the area, the internet is shut down or internet traffic is monitored by antagonistic parties, satellite internet technology could be a suitable alternative for people or organizations operating in these areas. However, satellite internet comes with its own advantages and shortcomings, and if satellite internet systems are going to be used in these areas, there is a need for secure utilization of the system and awareness of possible vulnerabilities, threats, and risks of using them. Objectives. There are four main objectives of this study: (1) To identify the general threats and vulnerabilities that accompany the use of satellite internet technology in a high-risk area. (2) To assess the risks to the user's safety that may come as a consequence of the vulnerabilities being exploited or threats being realized. (3) To identify possible mitigations to the risks, and device best practices for the secure use of satellite internet technology in high-risk areas. (4) Produce a document that provides information about satellite internet technology, clarifies what vulnerabilities, threats, and risks could be present when using satellite internet in a high-risk area and how the user may assess the risk according to their own situation, the document should also provide the user with mitigations and best practices for the secure use of the satellite internet technology in order to ensure the user's safety. Methods. A structured literature review, semi-structured interviews, and multiple threat analysis methods were used to gather and evaluate the threats to satellite internet. The literature review presented the previous research done, and the interviews gave some perspectives from the industry. The results were then compiled into a document which we evaluated in a workshop to determine its usability and get feedback we could use to improve it. Results. The results show that satellite internet systems are exposed to several attacks, and tracking was a discovered threat that was not mentioned in previous research. When making our example risk assessment tracking also received the highest score, due to it allowing an adversary to threaten the physical safety of a user. Conclusions. The interest in satellite internet security research seems to have recently increased. The most exposed part of the satellite internet infrastructure is the wireless communication link, especially in high-risk areas where attacks targeting the radio signal are more prevalent. User awareness was our most important mitigation against the threats found and is the core contribution of this work. Bakgrund. Att pålitlig och säker internetuppkoppling är tillgänglig i högriskområden är inte alltid garanterat. Om den markbaserade internetinfrastrukturen skadas på grund av väpnade konflikter i området, internet stängs ned eller internettrafiken övervakas av antagoniska parter, så är satellitinternetteknologi ett lämpligt alternativ för personer eller organisationer som verkar i dessa områden. Satellitinternet har dock sina egna fördelar och nackdelar. Om dessa system ska användas i högriskområden är det av yttersta vikt att de används säkert och att användaren är medveten om vilka möjliga sårbarheter, hot och risker som ackompanjerar användningen av systemen Syfte. Det finns fyra mål med detta arbete: (1) Att identifiera de allmänna hot och sårbarheter som ackompanjerar användningen av satellitinternetteknologi i ett högriskområde. (2) Att bedöma de risker mot användarens säkerhet som kan uppstå till följd av att sårbarheterna utnyttjas eller hoten realiseras. (3) Att identifiera möjliga åtgärder för att mitigera riskerna och utveckla bästa praxis för den säkra användningen av satellitinternetteknologi i högriskområden. (4) Att producera ett dokument som tillhandahåller information om satellitinternetteknologi, klargör vilka sårbarheter, hot och risker som kan förekomma vid användning av satellitinternet i högriskområden samt hur användaren kan bedöma risken utefter sin egen situation. Dokumentet bör också ge användaren åtgärder mot risker och bästa praxis för säker användning av satellitinternetteknologi samt att säkerställa användarens säkerhet. Metoder. Background: The cultural and social norms in India stipulate that family and preferably children of the older person, provide the support and care that is needed. In recent years, we have witnessed an overall upsurge in interest in informal care from all countries in the developed world considering their ageing populations. The older people living alone group is, especially interesting in this matter, since it seems to deviate from the expectations of extended family living.Objective: The aim was to describe older persons' experiences of informal care when living alone in India.Methods: The study has a hermeneutic design, analysing interviews of older persons living alone in India.Results: Findings revealed informal care as the thematic patterns: Informal care as a fundamental human responsibility, an obligation and thereby a way to act in 'common sense'. It was a way of 'paying-back' care that they had received from others in their life history, motivated by governmental care was not presented as an option. Informal care also created safety by the provision of alert and actionable care by loved ones, including spatial safety. Most of the informants experienced themselves as informal caregivers assisting others in need even if they themselves were old and fragile. Providing self care was also seen as a part of informal care conducted by capable and worthy persons. They also pointed out their own obligation to seek informal care and even to listen to the suggestions of younger generations regarding the type and scope of care.Conclusions/Implications for practice: Informal care in India is not only dependent on having children who ensure that you receive the care you need. Extended family, neighbours and friends feel a basic human obligation to care for the older people in their environment. This responsibility is deeply rooted even within the older people who become fragile in old age.

This is a quantitative research study which analyzes the Swedish authority of public health, Folkhälsomyndigheten, and how they communicated nationally throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. The study accomplishes this by focusing on the authority's primary source of outreach, their Facebook page. By analyzing all of their 171 Facebook posts made during the pandemic the posts could then be categorized into animated video, video about the vaccine, link to website, video including an expert, image including a question, the vaccine podcast, commercial short films, residual posts and additional variables. The study then further inspects these posts and manages through its theoretical framework to come to the conclusion that the Swedish authority of public health communicated through several principles externally during the Covid-19 pandemic, four to be exact. They communicated through principles putting the public first, alluding to recognition, effectiveness and organization, and to some capacity regarding the vaccine, principles connected to marketing.

The preferential form of living for the elderly in India is within the extended family. India is undergoing rapid economic development, an increase in mobility, and changes in gender norms due to an increase in women&rsquo, s labour force participation, which places challenges on traditional intergenerational relationships. Ageing and the well-being of the elderly is a rising concern, especially considering that their proportion of the population is expected to grow rapidly in coming decades. There is a lack of universal state provision for the elderly&rsquo, s basic needs, which is especially profound for elderly women, since most do not have an independent income. This leaves the elderly dependent upon the benevolence of their adult children&rsquo, s families or other relatives. This paper explores, with help of narrative analysis and critical contributions from capability theory, elderly women&rsquo, s agency freedoms and how this can be contextualised with their varying capability sets. With help of Spivak&rsquo, s notion of the silent subaltern, the paper anchors elderly women&rsquo, s abilities to voice to their agency freedom. The master narrative of the silent supportive wife and side-lined mother-in-law as well as three counter-narratives explore alternative agencies taken by elderly women.

Trafikverket arbetar för att omsätta långsiktiga mål för transportsystemet från Målbild 2030, tillsammans med andra relevanta mål, i projektverksamheten. Vägledning kan erhållas från Trafikverkets hållbarhetsverktyg SUNRA som via sonderingsfrågor kan ringa in vad som är väsentligt ur hållbarhetssynpunkt för att sätta mål och indikatorer i ett specifikt projekt. Ett annat alternativ är att använda Trafikverkets leverantörers metoder, verktyg och arbetssätt för ökat hållbarhetsarbete. Denna rapport har syfte att påvisa hur applicerbara några av Trafikverkets konsulters metoder, verktyg och arbetssätt är i Trafikverkets projekt samt diskutera hur hållbarhet bör upphandlas i konsultuppdrag. Alla konsulternas verktyg, metoder och arbetssätt angående hållbarhet kan hjälpa att strukturera och stödja projektledningens hållbarhetsarbete. Ett strukturerat hållbarhetsarbete ses ofta vara viktigare än själva verktyget. Globala målen ses som erkänt accepterade på marknaden och konsulterna vill koppla projekten mot dem. Arbetssätten för hållbarhet som konsulterna tagit fram har alla likheten att de är flexibla och med fördel startas tidigt i processen. Utredning bör ske huruvida Trafikverket bör starta hållbarhetsarbetet i planeringsfasen innan Trafikverket tagit emot beställning av ett investeringsprojekt. Hårdare krav efterfrågas och Trafikverket bör efterfråga hållbarhet i större omfattning enligt konsulterna med väl tilltagen kalkyleringstid. Tillgänglig intern kompetens på Trafikverket måste utredas då projektledningen kan behöva utökat stöd.
