We searched for shocked carbon chain chemistry (SCCC) sources with C$_3$S abundances surpassing those of HC$_5$N towards the dark cloud L1251, using the Effelsberg telescope at K-band (18 -- 26\,GHz). L1251-1 and L1251-3 are identified as the most promising SCCC sources. The two sources harbor young stellar objects. We conducted mapping observations towards L1251-A, the western tail of L1251, at $\lambda$ $\sim$3\,mm with the PMO 13.7 m and the NRO 45 m telescopes in lines of C$_2$H, N$_2$H$^+$, CS, HCO$^+$, SO, HC$_3$N and C$^{18}$O as well as in CO 3--2 using the JCMT. The spectral data were combined with archival data including Spitzer and Herschel continuum maps for further analysis. Filamentary sub-structures labeled as F1 to F6 were extracted in L1251, with F1 being associated with L1251-A hosting L1251-1. The peak positions of dense gas traced by HCO$^+$ are misaligned relative to those of the dust clumps. Episodic outflows are common in this region. The twisted morphology of F1 and velocity distribution along L1251-A may originate from stellar feedback. SCCC in L1251-1 may have been caused by outflow activities originated from the infrared source IRS1. The signposts of ongoing SCCC and the broadened line widths of C$_3$S and C$_4$H in L1251-1 as well as the distribution of HC$_3$N are also related to outflow activities in this region. L1251-1 (IRS1) together with the previously identified SCCC source IRS3 demonstrate that L1251-A is an excellent region to study shocked carbon chain chemistry., Comment: 32 pages, 15 figures

The Flavian reforms had put an end to the purely legal Romanization of Spain but the depth and intensity of the process seem to have varied in different regions of the country. Like in the late Republican times, in the first and second centuries A.D. Spain had three zones of Romanization - a wholly (or almost wholly) Romanized zone, a Romanizing zone and a non- Romanized region but unlike the previous period the boundaries of them were absolutely different. The former covered practically the whole of Baetics and East Tarraconensis (except the Balearic Islands).

Aim To compare long-term outcomes of x-ray endovascular (percutaneous coronary intervention, PCI, and lower limb angioplasty with stent placement, LLA; group 1) and combination treatments (PCI and open LLA surgery; group 2) in patients with chronic lower limb ischemia (CLLI) associated with ischemic heart disease (IHD).Material and methods This retrospective study has been conducted in the Vishnevsky National Medical Research Center of Surgery since 2019. The study includes 92 patients with stage 2B CLLI associated with IHD who were managed from January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2020. Long-term outcomes were evaluated in 76 (82.6 %) patients. The endpoint was severe cardiovascular complications (CVC), including death, myocardial infarction, and acute cerebrovascular disease (ACVD).Results In group 1 during the long-term period, 1 (2.7%) fatal outcome due to pneumonia was observed. In group 2, 4 (10 %) patients died: 1 (2.5 %) patient due to ACVD, 1 (2.5 %) patient due to progression of oncological process, and 2 2 (5 %) patients due to COVID-19. Also, 2 (5.5 %) and 1 (2.5 %) cases of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) were observed in groups 1 and 2, respectively (p=0.61).Conclusion In the x-ray endovascular (group1) and the combination (group 2) intervention groups, lethal outcomes due to myocardial infarction were absent. This fact confirms the importance of PCI in patients with CLLI for prevention of possible ACS in the long-term. Both therapeutic tactics in managing CLLI patients with IHD demonstrated high safety and clinical efficacy during the hospital and long-term periods and can be extensively used in routine clinical practice.

- Abstract
Introduction. Connective tissue is ubiquitous in the human body, hereditary connective tissue disorders affect several systems and organs, undifferentiated connective tissue dysplasia is often not diagnosed, proceeds under the guise of another pathology, and the pathogenetic basis of COVID-19 is a systemic disease associated with vascular inflammation and endothelial damage. The goal is to study the clinical and laboratory features of a new coronavirus infection in patients with connective tissue dysplasia.Materials and methods. The study included 117 patients diagnosed with a new coronavirus infection COVID-19 aged 35 to 65 years, hospitalized in an infectious diseases hospital City Clinical Hospital No. 40 in Ekaterinburg. The patients were divided into 2 groups: the main group (n=90) people with the stigmas of connective tissue dysplasia and the comparison group: (n=27) people without signs of connective tissue dysplasia. Inclusion criteria: the presence of stigma of connective tissue dysplasia, the presence of a confirmed infection with COVID-19 (PCR of nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swabs for SARS-CoV-2). Exclusion criteria: age over 65, comorbidities: diseases of the musculoskeletal system, chronic kidney disease, pregnancy, HIV infection, oncohematological and lymphoproliferative diseases.Results. The course of a new coronavirus infection against the background of connective tissue dysplasia is characterized by: 1) fever in 100% of patients; 2) damage to the lungs of more than 50% of the lung tissue with signs of respiratory failure in 63%; 3) a pronounced systemic inflammatory response syndrome, manifested by a significant increase in C-reactive protein and creatine phosphokinase.Discussion. An analysis of the results showed that one of the predictors of the severity of the course of COVID-19 infection may be the presence of connective tissue markers of dysplasia (odds ratio 7.4, 95% CI 2.6-21.3).Conclusion. The new coronavirus infection COVID-19 proceeds against the background of connective tissue dysplasia more severely with a pronounced intoxication syndrome with an early and longer manifestation of acute respiratory failure.

Abstract Ischemic stroke poses significant challenges in terms of mortality and disability rates globally. A key obstacle to the successful treatment of ischemic stroke lies in the limited efficacy of administering therapeutic agents. Leveraging the unique properties of nanoparticles for brain targeting and crossing the blood–brain barrier, researchers have engineered diverse nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems to improve the therapeutic outcomes of ischemic stroke. This review provides a concise overview of the pathophysiological mechanisms implicated in ischemic stroke, encompassing oxidative stress, glutamate excitotoxicity, neuroinflammation, and cell death, to elucidate potential targets for nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems. Furthermore, the review outlines the classification of nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems according to these distinct physiological processes. This categorization aids in identifying the attributes and commonalities of nanoparticles that target specific pathophysiological pathways in ischemic stroke, thereby facilitating the advancement of nanomedicine development. The review discusses the potential benefits and existing challenges associated with employing nanoparticles in the treatment of ischemic stroke, offering new perspectives on designing efficacious nanoparticles to enhance ischemic stroke treatment outcomes. Abstract To investigate alteration of outer nuclear layer (ONL) and choroidal vascularity index (CVI) in different status of central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC). A retrospective review of 65 CSC eyes with subretinal fluid (manifest CSC) and 40 control eyes was conducted in a single tertiary university hospital. Differences in best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), ONL, and CVI were compared. CVI was assessed both in the entire choroid (CVI-EC) and around the 1500 μm leakage area (CVI-1500). Measurements were repeated after the subretinal fluid resorption (quiescent CSC), and compared. CSC eyes showed worse BCVA, thinner ONL and greater CVI than controls. Quiescent CSC showed a recovery of ONL compared to the manifest CSC, along with the BCVA improvement. The resolution of the CSC revealed a decrease across all three choroidal areas (total, stromal and luminal), with a more pronounced reduction in the stromal than in the luminal choroidal area, leading to an increase in the CVI. This phenomenon was shown in both CVI-EC and CVI-1500. Conclusively, ONL thickness can be used as a quantitative biomarker for photoreceptor function in CSC. Increased CVI may reflect a disease activity. The stromal choroidal area is particularly sensitive in illustrating leakage from the choroidal vasculature.

The paper deals with basic approaches to monitoring of the currency risk. The purpose of the paper is to substantiate the theoretical and methodological foundations of the complex application of risk assessment methods to prevent the adoption of its excessive level, as well as instruments for monitoring the profitability of operations in the foreign exchange market, based on the calculation of the consolidated balanced index. It was determined that in the context of the volatility of the national currency the exposure of banks to currency risk increases significantly, it means that is, the magnitude of the consequences of its manifestation for most financial intermediaries increases. The authors of the paper consider the system of currency risk management as a set of goals, principles, functions, methods, tools and specific techniques of purposeful, continuous influence of the management system on the managed one for timely estimation and monitoring of currency risk in order to minimize it and achieve specified parameters of currency yields. In according to current management standards, implemented by leading financial institutions and international regulators, currency risk monitoring mechanisms must not only timely and effectively identify deviations from key risk targets, but also provide for the ability to identify unforeseen situations. It was proved that that the monitoring tools, policies and procedures have to meet a number of criteria, which are taken into account at the achievement of the main goals of the bank and increase its resistance to external shocks on the foreign exchange market. Taking into account the fact that the value of currency risk by the ES metric is included in the calculation of the consolidated balanced index, the change in the regulatory regimes is made on the basis of the projected deviations of the CEI from the target corridor, recorded at the initial stage in determining the level of risk exposure of the bank. Thus, the proposed balanced approach to forecasting involves the use, on the one hand, of statistically reliable quantitative analysis tools and, on the other hand, qualitative environmental change signals that aggregate the benefits of structural methods, while providing the flexibility and timeliness of managerial decision-making. The specification of currency risk management regimes should be tailored to the specific features of a particular bank and have a combinatorial nature that involves the integration of individual impulses by analysis tools, forecasting, time horizons and levels of management, as well as in terms of components of the CEI consolidated balance sheet and risk level of activity in the foreign exchange market. This approach allows for the flexibility of management systems and their adaptability to the external conditions of the bank, and the use of quality monitoring signals increases the speed of decision-making and elimination of deficiencies that can be inherent in econometric assessment tools.

Diseases of the blood and blood-forming organs ,RC633-647.5 - Abstract
Abstract The emergence of abnormal protein bands (APBs), also known as oligoclonal protein bands, has been documented in patients with multiple myeloma (MM) post hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. However, the incidence rate and clinical significance of APBs remain contentious. Few studies have explored the occurrence and prognostic implications of APBs in patients with MM treated with B‐cell maturation antigen (BCMA)–specific chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)‐T therapy. In this retrospective study, we examined the frequency, isotypes, and duration of APBs, as well as their correlation with MM disease characteristics, treatment response, clinical outcomes, and immune signature in patients with relapsed/refractory MM who had received LCAR‐B38M therapy at the Xi'an site of the phase 1 LEGEND‐2 trial. Among 47 patients assessed, 23 (48.9%) developed APBs following CAR‐T therapy, with IgG being the most common isotype. The median onset and duration of APBs post‐CAR‐T infusion were 3.6 and 5.8 months, respectively. Patients with APBs demonstrated significantly improved response to LCAR‐B38M therapy, along with longer overall and progression‐free survival. Furthermore, those with APBs exhibited enhanced recovery rates of immunoglobulins and higher absolute counts of white blood cells, neutrophils, and lymphocytes post‐CAR‐T treatment compared to those without APBs. However, no significant differences were observed between the two groups in the percentages of various T‐cell subsets and natural killer cells. Overall, the presence of APBs in patients with MM following CAR‐T treatment was associated with deeper remission and a more favorable prognosis, suggesting a robust humoral response and subsequent immune reconstitution.

Abstract Growth differentiation factor 15 (GDF15) as a stress response cytokine is involved in the development and progression of several diseases associated with metabolic disorders. However, the regulatory role and the underlying mechanisms of GDF15 in sepsis remain poorly defined. Our study analyzed the levels of GDF15 and its correlations with the clinical prognosis of patients with sepsis. In vivo and in vitro models of sepsis were applied to elucidate the role and mechanisms of GDF15 in sepsis-associated lung injury. We observed strong correlations of plasma GDF15 levels with the levels of C-reactive protein (CRP), procalcitonin (PCT), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), and lactate as well as Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) scores in patients with sepsis. In the mouse model of lipopolysaccharide-induced sepsis, recombinant GDF15 inhibited the proinflammatory responses and alleviated lung tissue injury. In addition, GDF15 decreased the levels of cytokines produced by alveolar macrophages (AMs). The anti-inflammatory effect of glycolysis inhibitor 2-DG on AMs during sepsis was mediated by GDF15 via inducing the phosphorylation of the α-subunit of eukaryotic initiation factor 2 (eIF2α) and the expression of activating transcription factor 4 (ATF4). Furthermore, we explored the mechanism underlying the beneficial effects of GDF15 and found that GDF15 inhibited glycolysis and mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPK)/nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) signaling via promoting AMPK phosphorylation. This study demonstrated that GDF15 inhibited glycolysis and NF-κB/MAPKs signaling via activating AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), thereby alleviating the inflammatory responses of AMs and sepsis-associated lung injury. Our findings provided new insights into novel therapeutic strategies for treating sepsis.

Abstract Background Erythroid and myeloid differentiation disorders are commonly occurred in leukemia. Given that the relationship between erythroid and myeloid lineages is still unclear. To find the co-regulators in erythroid and myeloid differentiation might help to find new target for therapy of myeloid leukemia. In hematopoiesis, ALA (alpha lipoic acid) is reported to inhibit neutrophil lineage determination by targeting transcription factor ELK1 in granulocyte-monocyte progenitors via splicing factor SF3B1. However, further exploration is needed to determine whether ELK1 is a common regulatory factor for erythroid and myeloid differentiation. Methods In vitro culture of isolated CD34+, CMPs (common myeloid progenitors) and CD34+ CD371– HSPCs (hematopoietic stem progenitor cells) were performed to assay the differentiation potential of monocytes, neutrophils, and erythrocytes. Overexpression lentivirus of long isoform (L-ELK1) or the short isoform (S-ELK1) of ELK1 transduced CD34+ HSPCs were transplanted into NSG mice to assay the human lymphocyte and myeloid differentiation differences 3 months after transplantation. Knocking down of SRSF11, which was high expressed in CD371+GMPs (granulocyte-monocyte progenitors), upregulated by ALA and binding to ELK1-RNA splicing site, was performed to analyze the function in erythroid differentiation derived from CD34+ CD123mid CD38+ CD371– HPCs (hematopoietic progenitor cells). RNA sequencing of L-ELK1 and S-ELK1 overexpressed CD34+ CD123mid CD38+ CD371– HPCs were performed to assay the signals changed by ELK1. Results Here, we presented new evidence that ALA promoted erythroid differentiation by targeting the transcription factor ELK1 in CD34+ CD371– hematopoietic stem progenitor cells (HSPCs). Overexpression of either the long isoform (L-ELK1) or the short isoform (S-ELK1) of ELK1 inhibited erythroid-cell differentiation, but knockdown of ELK1 did not affect erythroid-cell differentiation. RNAseq analysis of CD34+ CD123mid CD38+ CD371– HPCs showed that L-ELK1 upregulated the expression of genes related to neutrophil activity, phosphorylation, and hypoxia signals, while S-ELK1 mainly regulated hypoxia-related signals. However, most of the genes that were upregulated by L-ELK1 were only moderately upregulated by S-ELK1, which might be due to a lack of serum response factor interaction and regulation domains in S-ELK1 compared to L-ELK1. In summary, the differentiation of neutrophils and erythrocytes might need to rely on the dose of L-ELK1 and S-ELK1 to achieve precise regulation via RNA splicing signals at early lineage commitment. Conclusions ALA and ELK1 are found to regulate both human granulopoiesis and erythropoiesis via RNA spliceosome, and ALA-ELK1 signal might be the target of human leukemia therapy.

- Abstract
To respond to an increasing emphasis placed on research capability and productivity, universities in China are reforming their policies regarding faculty’s performance evaluation and promotion criteria. Faculties are motivated to invest in research, and those without a PhD degree are strongly encouraged to enroll in doctoral programs. From the perspective of the theory of planned behavior, we conducted a qualitative study to explore the factors underpinning the intention to pursue a PhD degree among female teachers in a Chinese university. From data collected via semi-structured interviews, we found that participants were evaluating their pursuit of a doctoral degree in the clashes between the entrenched social-cultural beliefs of women’s role and the institutional expectation of a fully devoted scholar. Accordingly, theoretical and practical implications of our findings are discussed.

- Abstract
We searched for shocked carbon chain chemistry (SCCC) sources with C3S abundances surpassing those of HC5N toward the dark cloud L1251, using the Effelsberg telescope at the K band (18-26 GHz). L1251-1 and L1251-3 are identified as the most promising SCCC sources. The two sources harbor young stellar objects. We conducted mapping observations toward L1251-A, the western tail of L1251, at lambda similar to 3 mm with the Purple Mountain Observatory 13.7 m and the Nobeyama Radio Observatory 45 m telescopes in lines of C2H, N2H+, CS, HCO+, SO, HC3N, and (CO)-O-18 as well as in CO 3-2 using the James Clerk Maxwell Telescope (JCMT). The spectral data were combined with archival data including Spitzer and Herschel continuum maps for further analysis. Filamentary substructures labeled as F1-F6 were extracted in L1251, with F1 being associated with L1251-A hosting L1251-1. The peak positions of dense gas traced by HCO+ are misaligned relative to those of the dust clumps. Episodic outflows are common in this region. The twisted morphology of F1 and velocity distribution along L1251-A may originate from stellar feedback. SCCC in L1251-1 may have been caused by outflow activities originated from the infrared source IRS1. The signposts of ongoing SCCC and the broadened line widths of C3S and C4H in L1251-1 as well as the distribution of HC3N are also related to outflow activities in this region. L1251-1 (IRS1) together with the previously identified SCCC source IRS3 demonstrate that L1251-A is an excellent region to study SCCC.

This approach allows for the flexibility of management systems and their adaptability to the external conditions of the bank, and the use of quality monitoring signals increases the speed of decision-making and elimination of deficiencies that can be inherent in econometric assessment tools.,

One of the problems when you create a bioengineered liver, as an alternative to transplantation of the donor liver in the treatment of end-stage liver failure, is the matrix, able to temporarily perform the functions of the natural extracellular matrix (ECM) and provide the necessary conditions to maintain the viability of the liver cells. The main disadvantage of resorbable biopolymer matrices is the absence of tissue specifi c properties and the impossibility of reproducing the unique structure of the ECM of the liver.Aim:to develop technology for decellularization of liver tissue fragments, saving the structural properties of native ECM of the liver.Materials and methods. The decellularization of mechanically grinded human liver fragments was carried out in three changes of buffer solution (pH = 7.4) containing 0.1% sodium dodecyl sulfate and increasing the concentration of Triton X100 (1%, 2% and 3%, respectively). During technology development were investigated the effects of duration, conditions (static, dynamic, rotary system, magnetic stirrer) washing and methods of liver tissue grinding on the completeness of removal of cellular elements and detritus preserving the the liver ECM structure. Slices of decellularized liver tissue samples were stained by hematoxylin and eosin, and Masson method for the detection of connective-tissue elements.Results.Histological analysis methods showed that the best from the point of view of effi ciency of decellularization and the safety of the structure of own human liver ECM, is a mode of washing of liver fragments for three days at room temperature in static conditions, accompanied by stirring by a magnetic stirrer for 2–3 times a day for one hour. Longer time or a large multiplicity of mixing mode is accompanied by increased risk of liver tissue damage. On the basis of the experimental results obtained the algorithm of preliminary study of donor human liver designed to optimize the process of obtaining decellularization fragments of liver tissue was elaborated.Conclusion.It was elaborated the algorithm and technology of obtaining of decellularized liver tissue fragments from the human donor liver which saved the structural properties of native ECM of the liver and complete removal of cellular elements and detritus.

BackgroundMultiple myeloma (MM) exhibits considerable heterogeneity in treatment responses and survival rates, even when standardized care is administered. Ongoing efforts are focused on developing prognostic models to predict these outcomes more accurately. Recently, neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) have emerged as a potential factor in MM progression, sparking investigation into their role in prognostication.MethodsIn this study, a multi-gene risk scoring model was constructed using the intersection of NTEs and differentially expressed genes (DEGs), applying the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) Cox regression model. A nomogram was established, and the prognostic model’s effectiveness was determined via Kaplan-Meier survival analysis, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve, and decision curve analysis (DCA). The ESTIMATE algorithm and immune-related single-sample gene set enrichment analysis (ssGSEA) were employed to evaluate the level of immune infiltration. The sensitivity of chemotherapy drugs was assessed using the Genomics of Drug Sensitivity in Cancer (GDSC) database. Ultimately, the presence of the detected genes was confirmed through quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) analysis in MM cell specimens.Results64 NETs-DEGs were yielded, and through univariate Cox regression and LASSO regression analysis, we constructed a risk score composed of six genes: CTSG, HSPE1, LDHA, MPO, PINK1, and VCAM1. MM patients in three independent datasets were classified into high- and low-risk groups according to the risk score. The overall survival (OS) of patients in the high-risk group was significantly reduced compared to the low-risk group. Furthermore, the risk score was an independent predictive factor for OS. In addition, interactions between the risk score, immune score, and immune cell infiltration were investigated. Further analysis indicated that patients in the high-risk group were more sensitive to a variety of chemotherapy and targeted drugs, including bortezomib. Moreover, the six genes provided insights into the progression of plasma cell disorders.ConclusionThis study offers novel insights into the roles of NETs in prognostic prediction, immune status, and drug sensitivity in MM, serving as a valuable supplement and enhancement to existing grading systems.

The inadequacy of tactile perception systems in humanoid robotic manipulators limits the breadth of available robotic applications. Here, we designed a multifunctional flexible tactile sensor for robotic fingers that provides capabilities similar to those of human skin sensing modalities. This sensor utilizes a novel PI-MXene/SrTiO3 hybrid aerogel developed as a sensing unit with the additional abilities of electromagnetic transmission and thermal insulation to adapt to certain complex environments. Moreover, polyimide (PI) provides a high-strength skeleton, MXene realizes a pressure-sensing function, and MXene/SrTiO3 achieves both thermoelectric and infrared radiation response behaviors. Furthermore, via the pressure response mechanism and unsteady-state heat transfer, these aerogel-derived flexible sensors realize multimodal sensing and recognition capabilities with minimal cross-coupling. They can differentiate among 13 types of hardness and four types of material from objects with accuracies of 94% and 85%, respectively, using a decision tree algorithm. In addition, based on the infrared radiation-sensing function, a sensory array was assembled, and different shapes of objects were successfully recognized. These findings demonstrate that this PI-MXene/SrTiO3 aerogel provides a new concept for expanding the multifunctionality of flexible sensors such that the manipulator can more closely reach the tactile level of the human hand. This advancement reduces the difficulty of integrating humanoid robots and provides a new breadth of application scenarios for their possibility.

Long-term overfertilization not only aggravates environmental costs, but reduces the quality and yield of fruit in dryland apple orchard, and this issue is closely associated with post-germination fertilization management. On the basis of multi-year observations, we developed a targeted fertigation strategy of FORD, i.e. formula fertilization (rational fertilizer scheme), on-demand fertilization in the sensitive period, reduced fertilization and delayed fertilization. Two-year field investigations were conducted with conventional furrow application (CK), integrated furrow and injection application (FI) and the optimized injection application under the FORD principle in a semiarid apple orchard. The data indicated that FI and FORD had a similar fruit yield of 57.2 Mg ha-1, significantly greater (by 4.5%) than CK. Yet, fruit quality (nutrition, flavor and appearance) was substantially improved under FORD, relative to FI and CK (P
