Many different methods have been developed for the measurement of transmission error (T.E.) at gears meshing. Each strategy improved the measurement performance is based on comparing the phases of sequence signals by counting the number of encoder pulses. The phase comparison method of T.E. is a dynamic measurement algorithm with lower angular resolution and many constrained conditions. This paper presents a new numerical algorithm aimed to provide the high accuracy information of instantaneous T.E. in the form of angular displacement. The analysis approach uses phase shift and demodulation technology in frequency domain to process the signals generated by encoders fixed on the both shaft of the gear driving mechanism. Finally, the algorithm is tested by simulation of gear meshing signal in Matlab software.

The system of automatic correction and deviation measurement of hypoid gears is the basic platform for the digital closed-loop manufacturing technology. Based on the gear measuring center and the numerical controlled gear milling machine, a measurement and correction system is developed by the application of Visual C++ and Fortran. The architecture and the implement of the main modules are elaborated. Experiments and applications indicate that the tooth surface deviation can be effectively reduced by the system of automatic correction and measurement, and the stability of tooth surface precision and manufacturing quality is improved. It would provide the foundation for the digitalization of manufacture and quality control of hypoid gears.

A mathematical model for the Cu/ZrW2O8 functionally graded films was established using a finite element method. The effects of the parameters, such as the layer number (N) and composition distribution index (P), on the thermal stress fields of the Cu/ZrW2O8 functional graded films were discussed. It shows that when N=5 and P=2, the maximum thermal stress in the functional graded films is decreased. And the maximum value of thermal stress appears in the internal layers of the functionally graded films. The phase composition, the surface morphology and the thermal stress of the films were analyzed by the XRD, SEM and X-ray stress tester, respectively. The results show that the thermal stress distribution is similar to that from the numerical calculation. The maximum value of the thermal stress decreases to 72% of the original coating without the functionally graded films, and appears in the internal layers of the functionally graded films.

In order to accelerate the information construction of gear enterprise and implement information integration and sharing among various application systems, a functional architecture of networked information integrated service platform for gear enterprise networked manufacturing is proposed. The construction and exploitation of the service platform are implemented with the technology of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Web services. Finally, example of actual hypoid gear networked manufacturing is introduced to demonstrate the practicability of the proposed platform. The successful experiment also proves that the proposed platform can commendably meet the needs of information integration and data sharing for gear enterprise.
