1. Cognitive, adaptive and daily life functioning in adults with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome

Abstract

Background 22q11.2 deletion syndrome (22q11.2DS) is associated with cognitive impairments and an increased risk of psychopathology. Most of the research has been conducted in children and adolescents, although the majority of affected individuals live well into adulthood. Hence, limited data are available on functional outcomes in adults. Aims To provide more insight in cognitive and adaptive abilities, and daily life functioning (marital status, living situation and work situation) in adults with 22q11.2DS. Method This retrospective study included 250 Dutch-speaking adults (16–69 years) with 22q11.2DS from three sites in The Netherlands and Belgium. Data on full-scale IQ (FSIQ) scores (assessed with the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale), adaptive functioning (assessed with the Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scale II), and functional outcomes including marital status, living and work situation were systematically collected from clinical files. In addition, we examined predictors of adaptive functioning. Results The majority of individuals in our adult sample demonstrated a low level of adaptive functioning (65%). In contrast to previous findings in children and adolescents, the majority functioned at an intellectual disability level (56%). Male sex, lower FSIQ and autism spectrum disorder were predictors of lower adaptive functioning (P = 0.016, P < 0.001 and P = 0.16, respectively). Conclusions These results suggest that low levels of cognitive and adaptive functioning are common in adults with 22q11.2DS. Future longitudinal and multicentre studies including older patients (>40 years) are needed to further investigate cognitive and adaptive trajectories and their interactions with physical and psychiatric comorbidities.

Abstract

IntroductionEnrolling children with cancer in early phase trials is crucial to access innovative treatments, contributing to advancing pediatric oncology research and providing tailored therapeutic options. Our objective is to analyze the impact of these trials on patient outcomes and safety, and to examine the evolution and feasibility of trials in pediatric cancer over the past decade.MethodsAll patients recruited in pediatric anticancer phase I/II clinical trials from January 2014 to December 2022 were included. Clinical records and trial protocols were analyzed.ResultsA total of 215 patients (median age 11.2 years, range 1–29.5) were included in 52 trials (258 inclusions). Patients with extracranial solid tumors (67%), central nervous system (CNS) tumors (24%), and leukemia (9%) were included. The most common investigational drugs were small molecules (28.3%) and antibodies (20.5%). Serious adverse events were experienced by 41% of patients, 4.4% discontinued treatment because of toxicity and two had toxic deaths. Median event-free survival was 3.7 months (95%CI: 2.8–4.5), longer in phase II trials than in phase I (2 vs. 6.3 months; p ≤ 0.001). Median overall survival was 12 months (95%CI: 9–15), higher in target-specific vs. non-target-specific trials (14 vs. 6 months; p ≤ 0.001).DiscussionA significant and increasing number of patients have been included in early clinical trials, suggesting that both oncologists and families consider it valuable to be referred to specialized Units to access new therapies. Moreover, our data suggests that participation in early clinical trials, although not without potential toxicities, might have a positive impact on individual outcomes.

Abstract

Long-term follow-up studies are crucial to ensure surveillance and intervention for late complications after allogeneic stem cell transplantation, but they are scarce on the pediatric population. This study aims to analyze risk factors for long-term transplant outcomes. We report a landmark analysis of 162 pediatric patients who underwent allogeneic transplantation between 1991 and 2016, and survived for at least 12 months after the transplant. With a median follow-up time of 10 years for the survivors, the probability of disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) is 81 ± 3 and 88 ± 2%, respectively. Variables that influenced DFS in the univariate analysis were: disease phase (early phase 87 ± 3% vs. advanced phase 74 ± 5%; p = 0.04), acute graft vs. host disease (aGvHD; yes 73 ± 5% vs. no 87 ± 3%; p = 0.038), severe chronic GvHD (cGvHD; yes 41 ± 13% vs. no 85 ± 3%; p = 0.0001), and CD4+ lymphocytes 2 years after the transplant (above the median of 837/μl 98 ± 2% vs. below the median 82 ± 6%, p = 0.026). However, in the multivariate analysis, the only variable that influenced DFS was presence of severe chronic GvHD (yes vs. no, HR 6.25; 95% CI, 1.35–34.48; p = 0.02). Transplant strategies should aim to reduce the risk of severe cGvHD. Immune reconstitution surveillance may help clinicians to better deal with late transplant complications.

Abstract

The relevance of the study is conditioned by the need for mastery of "professional mobility" and "reflection" by health professionals in terms of active scientific and technological development and rapid changes in the socio-cultural space. The purpose of the study is to determine the professional mobility of a specialist in the context of the peculiarities of the professional activity of a nurse and to create a methodology for its research. In the course of the study, methods of statistical and mathematical analysis, scientific modelling, as well as testing and generalisation of data were used to conduct an empirical experiment, the essence of which was to create and substantiate the method "Professional mobility of a nurse". The necessity of the professional mobility development of employees of medical institutions is substantiated. The key components of the study of professional mobility of nurses have been established. A method for studying professional mobility and reflection of healthcare workers in the form of a questionnaire "Professional mobility of nurses" has been developed. Statistical processing of the received data has been conducted and the statistical matrix of the specified technique is created. A sample normative scale for the questionnaire has been formed. The reliability of the questionnaire was determined due to the use of the Cronbach's alpha index. The coefficient of discrimination of the method "Professional mobility of nurses" was found. Prospects for further research are seen in the regular use of the developed questionnaire "Professional mobility of nurses" among healthcare workers to actively implement and develop professional mobility to ensure proper socioeconomic stability

Abstract

BackgroundT-cell depleted (TCD) haploidentical transplantation using CD3+/CD19+ and TCRαβ+/CD19+ depletion techniques has been increasingly used in children with hematological malignancies. We present a retrospective study aimed to compare transplant outcomes in children with leukemia receiving a TCD haploidentical transplant using either CD3+/CD19+ or TCRαβ+/CD19+ platforms.MethodsA total of 159 children with leukemia (ALL=80) (AML=79) that received a TCD haploidentical transplantation using either CD3+/CD19+ (n=79) or TCRαβ+/CD19+ (n=80) platforms between 2005 and 2020 were included. Median age was 9 years in both groups. There were no differences in patient, donor, and transplant characteristics between groups except for donor KIR B genotype more frequent in the TCRαβ+/CD19+ group (91%) than in the CD3+/CD19+ group (76%) (p=0.009) and a high number of NK+ cells and lower CD19+ cells infused in the TCRαβ+/CD19+ group (35.32x106/kg and 0.06 x106/Kg) than in the CD3+/CD19 group (24.6x106/Kg and 0.25 x106/Kg) (p=0.04 and p=0.0001), respectively. Conditioning was based on TBF. Median follow-up for survivors was 11 years (range; 8-16 y) in CD3+/CD19+ group and 5 years (range; 2-9 y) in the TCRαβ+/CD19+ group.ResultsEngraftment kinetics were similar in both groups (13 days for neutrophils and 10 days for platelets). There was no difference in the incidence of acute GvHD II-IV (29 ± 5% in the CD3+/CD19+ group vs 38 ± 5% in the TCRαβ+/CD19+ group) and chronic GvHD (32 ± 5% vs 23 ± 4%, respectively). NRM was 23 ± 5% in the CD3+/CD19+group vs 21 ± 4% in the TCRαβ+/CD19+group. Relapse incidence was also similar, 32 ± 5% vs 34 ± 6%, respectively. DFS and OS were not different (45 ± 5% vs 45 ± 6% and 53 ± 6% vs 58 ± 6% respectively). As there were no differences on transplant outcomes between groups, we further analyzed all patients together for risk factors associated with transplant outcomes. On multivariate analysis, we identified that early disease status at transplant (HR: 0.16; 95%CI (0.07-0.35) (p=0.0001), presence of cGvHD (HR: 0.38; 95%CI (0.20-0.70) (p= 0.002), and donor KIR-B genotype (HR: 0.50; 95%CI (0.32-0.90) (p=0.04) were associated with better DFS.ConclusionsOur data suggest that there are no advantages in transplant outcomes between TCD platforms. Risk factors for survival are dependent on disease characteristic, donor KIR genotype, and chronic GvHD rather than the TCD platform used.

Abstract

The prolific applicability of nanomaterials has made them a common citizen in biological systems, where they interact with proteins forming a biological corona complex. These complexes drive the interaction of nanomaterials with and within the cells, bringing forward numerous potential applications in nanobiomedicine, but also arising toxicological issues and concerns. Proper characterization of the protein corona complex is a great challenge typically handled with the combination of several techniques. Surprisingly, despite inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) being a powerful quantitative technique whose application in nanomaterials characterization and quantification has been consolidated in the last decade, its application to nanoparticle–protein corona studies is scarce. Furthermore, in the last decades, ICP-MS has experienced a turning point in its capabilities for protein quantification through sulfur detection, hence becoming a generic quantitative detector. In this regard, we would like to introduce the potential of ICP-MS in the nanoparticle protein corona complex characterization and quantification complementary to current methods and protocols.

Abstract

Background: Integrative oncology has proven to be a useful approach to control cancer symptoms and improve the quality of life (QoL) and overall health of patients, delivering integrated patient care at both physical and emotional levels. The objective of this randomized trial was to evaluate the effects of a triple intervention program on the QoL and lifestyle of women with breast cancer. Methods: Seventy-five survivors of stage IIA-IIB breast cancer were randomized into 2 groups. The intervention group (IG) received a 6-month dietary, exercise, and mindfulness program that was not offered to the control group (CG). Data were gathered at baseline and at 6 months postintervention on QoL and adherence to Mediterranean diet using clinical markers and validated questionnaires. Between-group differences at baseline and 3 months postintervention were analyzed using Student’s t test for related samples and the Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney U tests. Results: At 6 months postintervention, the IG showed significant improvements versus CG in physical functioning ( p = .027), role functioning ( p = .028), and Mediterranean diet adherence ( p = .02) and a significant reduction in body mass index ( p = .04) and weight ( p = .05), with a mean weight loss of 0.7 kg versus a gain of 0.55 kg by the CG ( p = .05). Dyspnea symptoms were also increased in the CG versus IG ( p = .066). Conclusions: These results demonstrate that an integrative dietary, physical activity, and mindfulness program enhances the QoL and healthy lifestyle of stage IIA-IIB breast cancer survivors. Cancer symptoms may be better managed by the implementation of multimodal rather than isolated interventions.

Abstract

We prospectively analyzed outcomes of haploidentical hematopoietic stem cell transplantation using αβ+ T-cell receptor/CD19+ depleted grafts. Sixty-three transplantations were performed in 60 patients. Twenty-eight patients were diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), 27 patients were diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia, and in eight other hematological malignancies were diagnosed. Twenty-three were in first complete remission (CR), 20 in second CR, 20 beyond second CR. Four patients developed graft failure. Median time to neutrophil and platelet recovery was 14 (range 9–25) and 10 days (range 7–30), respectively. The probability of non-relapse mortality (NRM) by day +100 after transplantation was 10 ± 4%. With a median follow-up of 28 months, the probability of relapse was 32 ± 6% and disease-free survival was 52 ± 6%. Immune reconstitution was leaded by NK cells. As such, a high CD56dim/CD56bright NK cell ratio early after transplantation was associated with better disease-free survival (DFS) (≥3.5; 77 ± 8% vs.

11. Teacher Training for Inclusion. Wearing a Yellow Vest at School or Daily Practices that We Learn to Resignify

Abstract

This paper analyses a research developed at the University of Cantabria (Spain) committed to inclusive education, as it proposes a process of collaborative enquiry into relevant educational concepts related to attention to diversity. The work carried out by the university students (preservice teachers) resulted in the production of a dictionary constructed from several voices (informants). The study is qualitative and involves 4 university professors (they are also the researchers) and 70 students of the Education Degree. Here we present the results of the enquiry process into the concept of the 'yellow vest'. This project has been led by three preservice teachers with the participation of five six-year-old students, three tutors and two support specialists as informants. This enquiry project functions as the epitome of the training process and demonstrates how inclusion is a socially anchored process. The results highlight a number of factors that contribute to making teacher education inclusive: the agency of university students in their training process; recognition of the value of diverse voices in order to build legitimate knowledge; deliberative dialogue in inclusive education; the use of heterogeneous communicative languages.

Este artigo retira da obra de Michel de Certeau indicações a respeito do lugar do corpo na ação política e nos processos de transformação social, colocando em foco a persistência nos escritos do autor de referências à corporalidade como dimensão fundamental da experiência mística, das operações de produção de conhecimento, da política das ruas de maio de 1968 e da inventividade da vida cotidiana. Destacamos assim a centralidade dessa dimensão na conceituação das práticas na perspectiva do autor e no uso que faz da função poética da linguagem como chave de reflexão sobre a ação social. Apontando a atualidade e possíveis usos contemporâneos dessas proposições, refletimos sobre algumas práticas de protesto dos estudantes secundaristas paulistas no ano de 2015, observando como tiram partido da mobilidade sempre irredutível das estruturas de saber e poder, fazendo uso, em ações disruptivas, de práticas corporais cotidianas supostamente normalizadas pela disciplina escolar.

Este artigo tem como objeto questões metodológicas implicadas na análise da noção de estratégia no contexto de ealização do Fórum Social Mundial (FSM) entre 2001 e 2005, tema de pesquisa de doutorado em curso junto ao Programa de Pós- Graduação em Antropologia Social da USP. Trata-se de uma noção comum entre militância, crítica engajada e análise acadêmica, recorrente na produção de enunciados que buscam definir o que o FSM é e para que ele serve, que traça mapas e itinerários neste amplo universo político. A análise explora os usos da noção nos textos programáticos e de análise produzidos por participantes e organizadores do Fórum Social Mundial. Objectives: To describe the case of a patient presenting with weight loss and a pelvic mass. Materials and methods: We performed an advanced search in MEDLINE using the key words "wasting syndrome", "actinomycosis" and "pelvic mass". Results: A 63-year-old woman had a well-delimited and tender pelvic mass and was found to be anaemic. Before scans were performed, clinicians considered malignancy and other diagnoses. Conclusion: Actinomycosis is a chronic infection that usually affects the abdomen. Because of the lack of specificity of clinical and radiological findings, a multidisciplinary approach is the keypoint for making an accurate diagnosis.

Laser powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB/M) is an additive manufacturing (AM) process to produce high‐strength, functionally integrated, lightweight metal components which cannot be built conventionally. This article addresses the expansion of functionality by integrating sensors within closed cavities. For this reason, the building process was stopped just before the cavities were closed. After positioning the sensors, the building process was continued and a solid connection to the AM component was established.

Abstract

This paper analyses a research developed at the University of Cantabria (Spain) committed to inclusive education, as it proposes a process of collaborative enquiry into relevant educational concepts related to attention to diversity. The work carried out by the university students (preservice teachers) resulted in the production of a dictionary constructed from several voices (informants). The study is qualitative and involves 4 university professors (they are also the researchers) and 70 students of the Education Degree. Here we present the results of the enquiry process into the concept of the 'yellow vest'. This project has been led by three preservice teachers with the participation of five six-year-old students, three tutors and two support specialists as informants. This enquiry project functions as the epitome of the training process and demonstrates how inclusion is a socially anchored process. The results highlight a number of factors that contribute to making teacher education inclusive: the agency of university students in their training process; recognition of the value of diverse voices in order to build legitimate knowledge; deliberative dialogue in inclusive education; the use of heterogeneous communicative languages. Abstract

The frequency and functions of Th17-polarized CCR6+RORyt+CD4+ T cells are rapidly compromised upon HIV infection and are not restored with long-term viral suppressive antiretroviral therapy (ART). In line with this, Th17 cells represent selective HIV-1 infection targets mainly at mucosal sites, with long-lived Th17 subsets carrying replication-competent HIV-DNA during ART. Therefore, novel Th17-specific therapeutic interventions are needed as a supplement of ART to reach the goal of HIV remission/cure. Th17 cells express high levels of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARy), a transcriptional factor that represses the transcription of the HIV provirus and the rorc gene, which encodes for the Th17-specific master regulator RORyt/RORC2. Thus, we hypothesized that the pharmacological inhibition of PPARy will facilitate HIV reservoir reactivation while enhancing Th17 effector functions. Consistent with this prediction, the PPARy antagonist T0070907 significantly increased HIV transcription (cell-associated HIV-RNA) and RORyt-mediated Th17 effector functions (IL-17A). Unexpectedly, the PPARy antagonism limited HIV outgrowth from cells of ART-treated people living with HIV (PLWH), as well as HIV replication in vitro. Mechanistically, PPARy inhibition in CCR6+CD4+ T cells induced the upregulation of transcripts linked to Th17-polarisation (RORyt, STAT3, BCL6 IL-17A/F, IL-21) and HIV transcription (NCOA1-3, CDK9, HTATIP2). Interestingly, several transcripts involved in HIV-restriction were upregulated (Caveolin-1, TRIM22, TRIM5α, BST2, miR-29), whereas HIV permissiveness transcripts were downregulated (CCR5, furin), consistent with the decrease in HIV outgrowth/replication. Finally, PPARy inhibition increased intracellular HIV-p24 expression and prevented BST-2 downregulation on infected T cells, suggesting that progeny virion release is restricted by BST-2-dependent mechanisms. These results provide a strong rationale for considering PPARy antagonism as a novel strategy for HIV-reservoir purging and restoring Th17-mediated mucosal immunity in ART-treated PLWH.

Abstract

AHEAD feasibility trial assessed the feasibility and acceptability of an 8-session group drumming programme aiming to improve executive function, depression and anxiety symptoms, and perceived social support in adolescents living with HIV in a rural low-income South African setting. Sixty-eight 12- to 19-year-old adolescents participated. They were individually randomised. The intervention arm (n = 34) received weekly hour-long group drumming sessions. Controls (n = 34) received no intervention. Feasibility and acceptability were assessed using rates of: enrolment; retention; attendance; logistical problems; adolescent-reported acceptability. Secondary measures included: five Oxford Cognitive Screen-Executive Function (OCS-EF) tasks; two Rapid Assessment of Cognitive and Emotional Regulation (RACER) tasks; the Self-Reporting Questionnaire-20 (SRQ-20) measuring depression and anxiety symptoms; the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS). All feasibility criteria were within green progression limits. Enrolment, retention, and acceptability were high. There was a positive effect on adolescent depressed mood with signal for a working memory effect. There were no significant effects on executive function or socio-emotional scales. Qualitative findings suggested socio-emotional benefits including: group belonging; decreased internalised stigma; improved mood; decreased anxiety. Group drumming is a feasible and acceptable intervention amongst adolescents living with HIV in rural South Africa. A full-scale trial is recommended.

Abstract

Extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP) has been shown to be an effective treatment for graft-versus-host disease (GvHD). However, information regarding lymphocyte collection for ECP in children is limited. The aim of this study was to analyse and compare lymphocyte collection for ECP in children using different devices and protocols. Moreover, we have studied both safety and variables of the infused product related to treatment efficacy.This was a retrospective study of 91 patients who underwent 1524 apheresis procedures with either the COBE Spectra or Spectra Optia system. The comparison study between the Optia protocols (MNC and CMNC) was prioritized. We analysed 578 procedures using the Optia blood cell separator: 204 and 374 using the MNC and the CMNC protocol, respectively.The Optia CMNC protocol showed better collection efficiency, with increased lymphocyte collection per kg of body weight (p 0.001). On multivariate analysis, the type of protocol showed no relationship with haematocrit or platelet loss. Most procedures were well-tolerated, with the most frequent adverse events related to venous access (21.7%). Seventy-one percent of patients had either partial or complete clinical GvHD response. In the multivariate model, only two variables were associated with a better response to ECP, younger age and a greater increase of B lymphocytes after treatment.Lymphocyte collection for ECP is well-tolerated in most children, achieving complete or partial response in more than half of GvHD patients. CMNC is the optimal software to perform lymphocyte collection in children.

Abstract

The aim of this work was to evaluate the hygienic-sanitary conditions of butcher shops in Tandil, Buenos Aires Province, by estimating the risk based on good manufacturing and hygiene practices, through surveys of the establishments. The analysis was performed using a scale of 1-100, and classifying them as high risk (0-40), moderate risk (41-70) or low risk (71-100). The presence of Salmonella spp., Staphylococcus aureus and Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC) from both, ground beef and environmental samples such as countertop, cleaver, mincer and butcher's hands, taken at butcher shops was also evaluated. Sampling was performed only once and immediately refrigerated and transported to the laboratory for analysis. All butcher shops evaluated (100) were classified as "low risk" with good hygienic-sanitary conditions. However, 75% of the ground beef samples analyzed did not meet at least one of the microbiological criteria established in the Codigo Alimentario Argentino [Argentine Food Code], article 255. We propose to establish a strategy to identify deviations and implement a plan for continuous improvement in butcher shops of Tandil city.

36. Empezar haciendo 'Inventario'. Fábulas del comienzo y la vejez en el proyecto autorial de Joaquín Sabina

Abstract

La infancia y la vejez, además de ser etapas biológicas en la vida de los sujetos, pueden operar como insumos teóricos potentes a la hora de indagar los vínculos entre la vida y el arte. En la presente oportunidad realizaremos un abordaje de aquellas “funciones del principio”, fábulas del comienzo y de la infancia de la escritura (Premat 2016) en la canción “Inventario” de Joaquín Sabina incluida en el álbum homónimo (1978) y recopilada en el volumen autopoético Con buena letra. Edición actualizada (2002, 2007). En esta canción obertura Joaquín Sabina inicia su proyecto autorial (Zapata 2011) en la etapa de emergencia, exponiendo una serie de imágenes (Amossy, Maingueneau 2009) que se convertirán en posturas (Meizoz 2007, 2009) y que delinearán una figura autorial particular, un personaje de autor (Castilla del Pino 1989) que se diseña a sí mismo (Groys 2014) en la búsqueda de una fabricación identitaria original que lo posicione de una determinada manera en la escena poético-musical de la canción de autor. A través de las notas autopoéticas dibujadas en caligrafía manuscrita en Con buena letra, indagaremos cómo Joaquín Sabina revisa su proyecto autorial a la vez que lo funda desde los íncipits de su escritura, entrada en obra y entrada en la literatura, la cual ya desde sus inicios muestra reiterados y paradójicos vestigios de vejez.

RESUMEN: Este trabajo se enmarca en un proyecto I+D+i financiado por el Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad de España cuyo propósito es el estudio de varios proyectos locales de investigación participativa. En este artículo examinamos cómo esta investigación participativa intersecciona con los fundamentos de la movilización del conocimiento y cómo ello se revela a lo largo del proyecto (no solo en la difusión final) a través de cuatro ejes interpretativos: relevancia; investigación participativa; comunicación y audiencia activa. Nos servimos de uno de los proyectos donde la creación colaborativa de un audiovisual nucleó un complejo proceso de investigación sobre la realidad carcelaria para ilustrar estos ejes en la práctica. Los participantes y co-creadores de esta obra han sido seis hombres jóvenes que han tenido o tenían una pena privativa de libertad, una trabajadora social y tres investigadoras de la universidad de Cantabria. Este trabajo muestra cómo estos resultados que brotan de un proyecto concreto pueden resultar inspiradores para otros proyectos de investigación guiados por el paradigma de la participación y de la acción social. ABSTRACT: This work is part of an R+D+i project funded by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness whose purpose is the study of several participatory projects aimed at promoting the participation of socially vulnerable groups. Here we deal with one of these projects where the collaborative creation of an audiovisual production was the nucleus of a complex research process on the reality of prison. The participants and co-creators of this work were six young inmates, a social worker and three researchers from the University of Cantabria. We examine how this participatory research intersects with the fundamentals of knowledge mobilisation and how this is revealed throughout the project (not only in the final dissemination) through four interpretative axes: relevance; participatory research, training and social change; accessible, understandable and audience-oriented communication; and active audience allied with the purpose of social transformation. This paper shows how these results emerging from a concrete project can be inspiring for other research projects guided by the paradigm of participation and social action. 41. Envejecer en la infancia. Masculinidad, vejez e identidad en Lo niego todo de Joaquín Sabina

Abstract

En el presente artículo indagaremos cómo en las letras de las canciones del disco Lo niego todo de Joaquín Sabina y en las declaraciones promocionales en los medios, el cantautor reconfigura su imagen de autor y problematiza su postura, aquella que lo ha acompañado durante todo su proyecto autorial para elaborar un posicionamiento nuevo: el de una masculinidad en declive que, en su proceso de envejecimiento, vuelve hacia el terreno de la infancia para ejercer resistencia desde una postura infantil. Esta masculinidad en declive se manifiesta desde la imagen de la otredad, pues el sujeto que envejece necesita reacomodar su identidad y reconstituirla. El cuerpo del varón viejo, en su pérdida de potencia sexual, de poder, de jerarquía, expone los mandatos de una masculinidad imposible. El disco de estudio Lo niego todo y el libro autopoético que lo acompaña Incluso la verdad manifiestan los mecanismos y operatorias de exclusión para con la vejez en el género masculino, a la vez que ofrecen distintas maneras de zanjar y burlar esos mandatos preestablecidos en nuestra cultura para aprender a “envejecer sin dignidad”.

Abstract

The relevance of the study is conditioned by the need for mastery of “professional mobility” and “reflection” by health professionals in terms of active scientific and technological development and rapid changes in the socio-cultural space. The purpose of the study is to determine the professional mobility of a specialist in the context of the peculiarities of the professional activity of a nurse and to create a methodology for its research. In the course of the study, methods of statistical and mathematical analysis, scientific modelling, as well as testing and generalisation of data were used to conduct an empirical experiment, the essence of which was to create and substantiate the method “Professional mobility of a nurse”. The necessity of the professional mobility development of employees of medical institutions is substantiated. The key components of the study of professional mobility of nurses have been established. A method for studying professional mobility and reflection of healthcare workers in the form of a questionnaire “Professional mobility of nurses” has been developed. Statistical processing of the received data has been conducted and the statistical matrix of the specified technique is created. A sample normative scale for the questionnaire has been formed. The reliability of the questionnaire was determined due to the use of the Cronbach's alpha index. The coefficient of discrimination of the method “Professional mobility of nurses” was found. Prospects for further research are seen in the regular use of the developed questionnaire “Professional mobility of nurses” among healthcare workers to actively implement and develop professional mobility to ensure proper socioeconomic stability

En el presente trabajo abordaremos el proyecto autorial (Zapata, 2011) de Joaquín Sabina en su etapa de canonización a partir de las figuraciones (Pozuelo Yvancos, 2010) y ficciones teóricas (Link, 2014) de la infancia y la vejez como instrumentos de lectura que emergen en términos de funciones del principio (Premat, 2016) y de funciones del final (Ruiz, 2021a). Indagaremos en autopoéticas textuales y en intervenciones públicas de Sabina, aquellas manifestaciones que exponen las figuraciones de infancia y vejez, para pensarlas no sólo como representaciones sobre el niño que fue o el anciano que es el autor sino también como mecanismos discursivos y comportamentales que elaboran una postura autorial (Meizoz, 2007, 2009) y un personaje de autor (Castilla del Pino, 1989) particular. De esta manera, el arco que traza la vida entre sus extremos habilita la teorización, en términos de devenir (Deleuze y Guattari, 1988), de los espacios de infancia y vejez como laboratorios de escritura (Premat, 2014, 2016), campos creativos donde poner a funcionar la maquinaria de las ficciones, insumos productivos desde donde desajustar las temporalidades para erigir una postura infantil en términos de resistencia., In the present work we will approach the authorial project (Zapata, 2011) of Joaquín Sabina in it stage of canonization from the figurations (Pozuelo Yvancos, 2010) and theoretical fictions (Link, 2014) of childhood and old age as reading instruments that they emerge in terms of functions of the beginning (Premat, 2016) and functions of the end (Ruiz, 2021a). We will investigate in textual autopoetics and in Sabina's public interventions those manifestations that expose the figurations of childhood and old age, to think of them not only as representations about the child who was or the old man who is the author, but also as discursive and behavioral mechanisms that elaborate a posture authorial (Meizoz, 2007, 2009) and a particular author character (Castilla del Pino, 1989). Abstract

This paper presents a research project carried out with participatory methodology in which the collaborative creation of an audiovisual has been the driving element of a complex process of inquiry about prison reality. The objective of the project is to describe, reveal and denounce how conjugal and family visits to inmates in prison take place. We have employed artistic co-creation and media literacy as facilitators of the participation of social groups without a voice. The project is structured as a qualitative case study. The participating group consists of six men in a Centre for Social Integration, the social worker and three researchers. The results discuss the possibilities offered by art as a viable social transformative practice. Likewise, the possibilities of art as social activism and as a facilitator of new forms of knowledge accessible to all are analysed. Finally, as a device of digital artivism, the audiovisual will be disseminated.

Abstract

El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar la capacidad inhibitoria de Lactiplantibacillus plantarum LP5 frente a Campylobacter coli en ensayos de formación de biopelículas in vitro y exclusión competitiva. La formación de biopelículas por C. coli NCTC11366, C. coli DSPV458, C. coli DSPV541 y C. coli DSPV570 fue evaluada mediante medición de DO. La capacidad inhibitoria de L. plantarum LP5 frente a C. coli fue evaluada sobre discos de vidrio, nailon y aluminio. Sobre una biopelícula de L. plantarum se adicionó C. coli para cuantificar el efecto inhibidor de L. plantarum LP5 sobre el patógeno. Las cuatro cepas de C. coli fueron clasificadas como moderadas formadoras de biopelículas. El ensayo de exclusión competitiva mostró que la formación de biopelículas de las cepas de C. coli en todos los materiales fue significativamente mayor que la formación de biopelículas de cada patógeno en presencia de biopelículas de L. plantarum LP5. Si bien es necesario realizar más pruebas para confirmar la capacidad de supervivencia de C. coli en ambientes hostiles hasta llegar al huésped, este estudio permitiría avanzar en el esclarecimiento de su comportamiento mediante la formación de biopelículas. The objective of this study was to evaluate the inhibitory capacity of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum LP5 against Campylobacter coli in in vitro biofilm formation and competitive exclusion assays. Biofilm formation by C. coli NCTC11366, C. coli DSPV458, C. coli DSPV541 and C. coli DSPV570 was evaluated by OD measurement. The inhibitory capacity of L. plantarum LP5 against C. coli was evaluated on glass, nylon and aluminium discs, added with L. plantarum and incubated at 37°C for 72 h. C. coli was added to each washed well. The plates were incubated at 42°C for 72 h in microaerophilic conditions and the biofilms were detached for quantification. The four strains of C. coli were classified as moderate biofilm former. The competitive exclusion test showed that the biofilm formation of the C. coli strains in all materials was significantly higher than the biofilm formation of each pathogen in the presence of L. plantarum LP5 biofilms. Although it is necessary to carry out more tests to confirm the ability of C. coli to survive in hostile environments until reaching the host, this study would allow progress in the elucidation of its behaviour through the formation of biofilms. Abstract

35 p.-1 tab., Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) synthesize exopolysaccharides (EPS), which are structurally diverse biopolymers with a broad range of technological properties and bioactivities. There is scientific evidence that these polymers have health-promoting properties. Most commercialized probiotic microorganisms for consumption by humans and farmed animals are LAB and some of them are EPS-producers indicating that some of their beneficial properties could be due to these polymers. Probiotic LAB are currently used to improve human health and for the prevention and treatment of specific pathologic conditions. They are also used in food-producing animal husbandry, mainly due to their abilities to promote growth and inhibit pathogens via different mechanisms, among which the production of EPS could be involved.
