We present the first complete two-loop calculation of the electric dipole moment of the electron, as well as the rates of the lepton-flavor violating decays $\mu \to e + \gamma$ and $\tau \to e/\mu + \gamma$, in the unconstrained two-Higgs doublet model. Recent advancements in music source separation have significantly progressed, particularly in isolating vocals, drums, and bass elements from mixed tracks. These developments owe much to the creation and use of large-scale, multitrack datasets dedicated to these specific components. However, the challenge of extracting similarly sounding sources from orchestra recordings has not been extensively explored, largely due to a scarcity of comprehensive and clean (i.e bleed-free) multitrack datasets. In this paper, we introduce a novel multitrack dataset called SynthSOD, developed using a set of simulation techniques to create a realistic (i.e. using high-quality soundfonts), musically motivated, and heterogeneous training set comprising different dynamics, natural tempo changes, styles, and conditions. Moreover, we demonstrate the application of a widely used baseline music separation model trained on our synthesized dataset w.r.t to the well-known EnsembleSet, and evaluate its performance under both synthetic and real-world conditions., Comment: Submitted to the OJSP - ICASSP 2025

This paper explores the internal structure of two quantum mechanics datasets (QM7b, QM9), composed of several thousands of organic molecules and described in terms of electronic properties. Understanding the structure and characteristics of this kind of data is important when predicting the atomic composition from the properties in inverse molecular designs. Intrinsic dimension analysis, clustering, and outlier detection methods were used in the study. They revealed that for both datasets the intrinsic dimensionality is several times smaller than the descriptive dimensions. The QM7b data is composed of well defined clusters related to atomic composition. The QM9 data consists of an outer region predominantly composed of outliers, and an inner core region that concentrates clustered, inliner objects. A significant relationship exists between the number of atoms in the molecule and its outlier/inner nature. Despite the structural differences, the predictability of variables of interest for inverse molecular design is high. This is exemplified with models estimating the number of atoms of the molecule from both the original properties, and from lower dimensional embedding spaces., Comment: 8 pages, 5 figures, 2 tables

Recently, the CMS Collaboration performed a search on a new resonance decaying to $e^\pm\mu^\mp$ in the mass range of 110 GeV to 160 GeV. The search also hints a possible excess at 146 GeV with a $3.8\sigma~(2.8\sigma)$ of local (global) significance. Motivated by that, we try to interpret the results in the context of the type-III two-Higgs-doublet-model. We find that the excess is only moderately constrained by low-energy lepton-flavor-violation processes, in particular the $\mu\to e \gamma$ decay. We also compare the CMS bounds across the entire search region against constraints of $\mu\to e\gamma$ and $\mu\to e$ conversion in nuclei. Our finding indicates that the collider bounds can be superior to those of low-energy processes for the scalar mass between $110 \text{ GeV}$ and $150 \text{ GeV}$, suggesting the importance of this mass range for future searches., Comment: v1: 7 pages, 2 figures; v2 add compatibility analysis between CMS signal and ATLAS data, matched PLB version

We present a unique Yukawa structure of the Zee model that can accommodate neutrino oscillation data, solves the muon ${g-2}$ problem, and explains the recent $W$ boson mass measurement. Our Yukawa structure is minimal in the sense that it contains the least possible number of parameters. In this minimal scenario, neutrino masses are quasidegenerate and are compatible with both normal and inverted orderings. The mixing angle $\theta_{23}$ is predicted to lie in the second (first) octant for normal (inverted) ordering. In both cases, the CP violating phase is close to 3$\pi/2$. A subsystem of an entangled ground state is in a mixed state. Thus, if we isolate this subsystem from its surroundings we may be able to extract work applying unitary transformations, up to a maximal amount which is called ergotropy. Once this work has been extracted, the subsystem will still contain some bound energy above its local ground state, which can provide valuable information about the entanglement structure. We show that the bound energy for half a free fermionic chain decays as the square of the entanglement entropy divided by the chain length, thus approaching zero for large system sizes, and we conjecture that this relation holds for all 1D critical states.

Experimental hints for lepton flavor universality violation in beauty-quark decay both in neutral- and charged-current transitions require an extension of the Standard Model for which scalar leptoquarks (LQs) are the prime candidates. Besides, these same LQs can resolve the long-standing tension in the muon and the recently reported deviation in the electron $g-2$ anomalies. These tantalizing flavor anomalies have discrepancies in the range of $2.5\sigma-4.2\sigma$, indicating that the Standard Model of particle physics may finally be cracking. In this Letter, we propose a resolution to all these anomalies within a unified framework that sheds light on the origin of neutrino mass. One of the most important discoveries in particle physics is the observation of nonzero neutrino masses, which dictates that the Standard Model (SM) is incomplete. Moreover, several pieces of evidence of lepton flavor universality violation (LFUV), gathered in the last few years, hint toward physics beyond the SM. TeV-scale scalar leptoquarks are the leading candidates for explaining these flavor anomalies in semileptonic charged and neutral current B-decays, the muon, and the electron magnetic dipole moments that can also participate in neutrino mass generation. In this work, we hypothesize that neutrino masses and LFUV have a common new physics origin and propose a new two--loop neutrino mass model that has the potential to resolve some of these flavor anomalies via leptoquarks and offers rich phenomenology. After deriving the neutrino mass formula for this newly-proposed model, we perform a detailed numerical analysis focusing on neutrino and charged lepton flavor violation phenomenology, where the latter provides stringent constraints on the Yukawa couplings and leptoquark masses. We present a Zee model with a family dependent $Z_2$ symmetry for radiative neutrino masses. Our motivation is to get a model that correctly describes neutrino oscillation phenomena, while at the same time offers definite predictions. The imposed $Z_2$ symmetry greatly reduces the number of free parameters in the model. These parameters are then determined from the neutrino data, from which one can study its outcomes. Our setup only admits quasidegenerate neutrino masses with the sum of neutrino masses between 100 and 130 meV, the effective Majorana mass between 20 and 40 meV, and the effective electron neutrino mass between 48 and 53 meV. The ratio of the vacuum expectation values of the Higgs doublets, $\tbeta$, is found to be $\tbeta\lesssim 0.5$ and $\tbeta\gtrsim 10$. The former is ruled out by lepton flavor violation (LFV) processes, such as $\mu\to e\gamma$ and $\mu\to e$ conversion, which are determined up to two loops. For the latter, these LFV processes are within reach of the next generation of experiments. Moreover, for $\tbeta\gtrsim10$, the couplings of heavy neutral scalars to dimuon are significant. If they are sufficiently light, i.e., $\lesssim200$ GeV, collider search for their decays into muon pair provides a stronger constraint on most parts of the model parameter space than the LFV ones., Comment: 15 pages, 7 figures and 1 appendix, match EPJC version

Tungsten is an important and versatile transition metal and has a firm place at the heart of many technologies. A popular experimental technique for the characterisation of tungsten and tungsten-based compounds is X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), which enables the assessment of chemical states and electronic structure through the collection of core level and valence band spectra. However, in the case of metallic tungsten, open questions remain regarding the origin, nature, and position of satellite features that are prominent in the photoelectron spectrum. These satellites are a fingerprint of the electronic structure of the material and have not been thoroughly investigated, at times leading to their misinterpretation. The present work combines high-resolution soft and hard X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (SXPS and HAXPES) with reflection electron energy loss spectroscopy (REELS) and a multi-tiered ab-initio theoretical approach, including density functional theory (DFT) and many-body perturbation theory (G0W0 and GW+C), to disentangle the complex set of experimentally observed satellite features attributed to the generation of plasmons and interband transitions. This combined experiment-theory strategy is able to uncover previously undocumented satellite features, improving our understanding of their direct relationship to tungsten's electronic structure. Furthermore, it lays the groundwork for future studies into tungsten based mixed-metal systems and holds promise for the re-assessment of the photoelectron spectra of other transition and post-transition metals, where similar questions regarding satellite features remain.

Capacitive Deionization (CDI) is a non-energy intensive water treatment technology. To harness the enormous potential of CDI requires improving performance, while offering industrially feasible solutions. Following this idea, the replacement of costly metallic components has been proposed as a mean of limiting corrosion problems. This work explores the use of nanostructured hybrid networks to enable free-form and metal-free CDI devices. The strategy consists of producing interpenetrated networks of highly conductive flexible carbon nanotube (CNT) fibre fabrics and nanostructured metal oxides, {\gamma}Al2O3 and TiO2, through ultrasound-assisted nanoparticle infiltration and sintering. In the resulting hybrids, a uniform distribution of porous metal oxide is firmly attached to the nanocarbon network while the flexibility, high conductivity and low-dimensional properties of the CNTs are preserved. These electrodes present a high porosity ($105 - 118 m^{2} g^{1}$), notably low electrical ($< 0,1 k \Omega cm^{2}$) and low charge transfer resistance (4 {\Omega}), thus enabling the infiltration of aqueous electrolytes and serving as current collector. In this work we built a large asymmetrical cylindrical CDI device solely made of these electrodes and conventional plastics. The cell provides, high average salt adsorption rates of $1.16 mg /g_{AM} min$ ($0.23 mg/g_{CDIunit} min$, low energy consumption ($0.18 Wh/g_{salt}$) and stable electrochemical performance above 50 cycles for brackish water desalination.
