Objective To investigate the effect of perioperative blood pressure variability on cerebral hyperperfusion syndrome after carotid artery stenting. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted of data collected from 418 patients who underwent carotid artery stenting in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region People's Hospital in China. The blood pressure data were collected during operation (after balloon dilation, before stent release, after stent release) and within 3 days after the operation. The blood pressure variability was evaluated by measuring the mean, maximum, minimum, max–min, standard deviation (SD) of systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP). The correlation between blood pressure variability and cerebral hyperperfusion syndrome was analysed. Results Blood pressure data from 418 patients were analysed. Twenty patients (4.8%) developed cerebral hyperperfusion syndrome. The parameters of blood pressure variability were divided into four groups according to quartile. After adjusting for age, symptomatic carotid stenosis, unilateral carotid stenosis, bilateral carotid stenosis, collateral circulation, diabetes mellitus and chronic kidney disease, multivariate analysis showed that SBPMax, SBPMin, SBPMax−Min, SBPCV, DBPSD, DBPMax, DBPMin, DBPMax−Min and DBPCV were associated with the occurrence of cerebral hyperperfusion syndrome ( P Conclusion This study suggests that blood pressure variability during the perioperative period may increase the risk of cerebral hyperperfusion syndrome.

Observation of high energy and very high emission from Gamma Ray Bursts (GRBs) is crucial to study the gigantic explosion and the underline processes. With a large field-of-view and almost full duty cycle, the Water Cherenkov Detector Array (WCDA), a sub-array of the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO), is appropriate to monitor the very high energy emission from unpredictable transients such as GRBs. Nevertheless, the main issue for an extensive air shower array is the high energy threshold which limits the horizon of the detector. To address this issue a new trigger method is developed in this article to lower the energy threshold of WCDA for GRB observation. The proposed method significantly improves the detection efficiency of WCDA for gamma-rays around the GRB direction at 10-300 GeV. The sensitivity of the WCDA for GRB detection with the new trigger method is estimated. The achieved sensitivity of the quarter WCDA array above 10 GeV is comparable with that of Fermi-LAT. The data analysis process and corresponding fluence upper limit for GRB 190719C is presented as an example.

The dispersion measure (DM)--redshift relation of fast radio bursts (FRBs) has been proposed as a potential new tool for probing intergalactic medium (IGM) and for studying cosmology. However, the poor knowledge of the baryon fraction in the IGM ($f_{\mathrm{IGM}}$) and its degeneracy with cosmological parameters impose restrictions on the cosmological applications of FRBs. Furthermore, DMs contributed by the IGM ($\mathrm{DM_{IGM}}$) and host galaxy ($\mathrm{DM_{host}}$), important cosmological quantities, cannot be exactly extracted from observations, which would bring uncontrolled systematic uncertainties in FRB cosmology. In this work, we use seventeen localized FRBs to constrain $f_{\mathrm{IGM}}$ and its possible redshift evolution. Other cosmological probes such as type Ia supernovae, baryon acoustic oscillations, and cosmic microwave background radiation are combined to break parameter degeneracy. Taking into account the probability distributions of $\mathrm{DM_{IGM}}$ and $\mathrm{DM_{host}}$ derived from the the IllustrisTNG simulation, we obtain a robust measurement of $f_{\mathrm{IGM}}=0.927\pm0.075$, representing a precision of 8.0\%. We find that there is no strong evidence for the redshift dependence of $f_{\mathrm{IGM}}$ at the current observational data level. The extension of the cosmic-ray spectrum beyond 1 petaelectronvolt (PeV; 1015 electronvolts) indicates the existence of the so-called PeVatrons—cosmic-ray factories that accelerate particles to PeV energies. We need to locate and identify such objects to find the origin of Galactic cosmic rays1. The principal signature of both electron and proton PeVatrons is ultrahigh-energy (exceeding 100 TeV) γ radiation. Evidence of the presence of a proton PeVatron has been found in the Galactic Centre, according to the detection of a hard-spectrum radiation extending to 0.04 PeV (ref. 2). Although γ-rays with energies slightly higher than 0.1 PeV have been reported from a few objects in the Galactic plane3–6, unbiased identification and in-depth exploration of PeVatrons requires detection of γ-rays with energies well above 0.1 PeV. Here we report the detection of more than 530 photons at energies above 100 teraelectronvolts and up to 1.4 PeV from 12 ultrahigh-energy γ-ray sources with a statistical significance greater than seven standard deviations. Despite having several potential counterparts in their proximity, including pulsar wind nebulae, supernova remnants and star-forming regions, the PeVatrons responsible for the ultrahigh-energy γ-rays have not yet been firmly localized and identified (except for the Crab Nebula), leaving open the origin of these extreme accelerators. Observations of γ-rays with energies up to 1.4 PeV find that 12 sources in the Galaxy are PeVatrons, one of which is the Crab Nebula.

Long gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) have been discussed as a potential tool to probe the cosmic star formation rate (SFR) for a long time. Some studies found an enhancement in the GRB rate relative to the galaxy-inferred SFR at high redshifts, which indicates that GRBs may not be good tracers of star formation. However, in these studies, the GRB rate measured at any redshift is an average over all galaxies at that epoch. A deep understanding of the connection between GRB production and environment also needs to characterize the population of GRB host galaxies directly. Based on a complete sample of GRB hosts, we constrain the stellar-mass function (SMF) of GRB hosts, and examine redshift evolution in the GRB host population. Our results confirm that a strong redshift evolution in energy (with an evolution index of $\delta=2.47^{+0.73}_{-0.89}$) or in density ($\delta=1.82^{+0.22}_{-0.59}$) is needed in order to account for the observations. The GRB host SMF can be well described by the Schechter function with a power-law index $\xi\approx-1.10$ and a break mass $M_{b,0}\approx4.9\times10^{10}$ ${\rm M}_\odot$, independent of the assumed evolutionary effects. This is the first formulation of the GRB host SMF. The observed time delays between photons with different circular polarizations from an astrophysical object provide a new, interesting way of testing the Einstein Equivalence Principle (EEP). In this paper, we constrain the EEP by considering both Shapiro time delay and Faraday rotation effects. We continue to search for astronomical sources that are suitable for testing the EEP accuracy, and obtain 60 extragalactic radio sources with multi-wavelength polarization angles in three different radio bands (20, 8.6, and 4.8 GHz) and 29 brightest stars within our own Milky Way galaxy with multi-colour linear polarimetric data in five optical bands ($UBVRI$). We apply the Metropolis-Hastings Markov Chain to simulate the fit parameters. The final results show that the values of the parameterized post-Newtonian parameter $\gamma$ discrepancy ($\Delta \gamma_{p}$) are constrained to be in the range of $10^{-26}-10^{-23}$ for 60 radio sources and in the range of $10^{-23}-10^{-20}$ for 29 optical polarization stars. Compared to previous EEP tests that based on the single polarization measurement in the gamma-ray band, our results have profound superiority that nearly a few tens of astrophysical sources with multi-wavelength polarization observations commonly in the optical and radio bands are available. It ensures that these sources can give more significantly robust bounds on the EEP. Type Ia Supernovae (SNe Ia) are the thermonuclear explosion of a carbon-oxygen white dwarf (WD) and are well-known as a distance indicator. However, it is still unclear how WDs increase their mass near the Chandrasekhar limit and how the thermonuclear runaway happens. The observational clues associated with these open questions, such as the photometric data within hours to days since the explosion, are scarce. Thus, an essential way is to discover SNe Ia at specific epochs with optimal surveys. The 2.5-m Wide Field Survey Telescope (WFST) is an upcoming survey facility deployed in western China. In this paper, we assess the detecability of SNe Ia with mock observations of WFST. Followed by the volumetric rate, we generate a spectral series of SNe Ia based on a data-based model and introduce the line-of-sight extinction to calculate the brightness from the observer. By comparing with the detection limit of WFST, which is affected by the observing conditions, we can count the number of SNe Ia discovered by mock WFST observations. We expect that WFST can find more than $3.0\times10^{4}$ pre-maximum SNe Ia within one-year running. In particular, WFST could discover about 45 bright SNe Ia, 99 early-phase SNe Ia, or $1.1\times10^{4}$ well-observed SNe Ia with the hypothesized Wide, Deep, or Medium mode, respectively, suggesting WFST will be an influential facility in time-domain astronomy., Comment: Accepted by Universe

Einstein's theory of general relativity (GR) has been precisely tested on solar system scales, but extragalactic tests are still poorly performed. In this work, we use a newly compiled sample of galaxy-scale strong gravitational lenses to test the validity of GR on kiloparsec scales. In order to solve the circularity problem caused by the preassumption of a specific cosmological model based on GR, we employ the distance sum rule in the Friedmann-Lema\^{\i}tre-Robertson-Walker metric to directly estimate the parameterized post-Newtonian (PPN) parameter $\gamma_{\rm PPN}$ and the cosmic curvature $\Omega_k$ by combining observations of strong lensing and Type Ia supernovae. This is the first simultaneous measurement of $\gamma_{\rm PPN}$ and $\Omega_k$ without any assumptions about the contents of the universe or the theory of gravity. Our results show that $\gamma_{\rm PPN}=1.11^{+0.11}_{-0.09}$ and $\Omega_{k}=0.48^{+1.09}_{-0.71}$, indicating a strong degeneracy between the two quantities. The measured $\gamma_{\rm PPN}$, which is consistent with the prediction of 1 from GR, provides a precise extragalactic test of GR with a fractional accuracy better than 9.0\%. If a prior of the spatial flatness (i.e., $\Omega_{k}=0$) is adopted, the PPN parameter constraint can be further improved to $\gamma_{\rm PPN}=1.07^{+0.07}_{-0.07}$, representing a precision of 6.5\%. On the other hand, in the framework of GR (i.e., $\gamma_{\rm PPN}=1$), our results are still marginally compatible with zero curvature ($\Omega_k=-0.12^{+0.48}_{-0.36}$), supporting no significant deviation from a flat universe., Comment: Updated to match the published version in ApJ Letters

We present the Global Rapid Advanced Network Devoted to the Multi-messenger Addicts (GRANDMA). The network consists of 21 telescopes with both photometric and spectroscopic facilities. They are connected together thanks to a dedicated infrastructure. The network aims at coordinating the observations of large sky position estimates of transient events to enhance their follow-up and reduce the delay between the initial detection and optical confirmation. The GRANDMA programme mainly focuses on follow-up of gravitational-wave alerts to find and characterize the electromagnetic counterpart during the third observational campaign of the Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo detectors. But it allows for follow-up of any transient alerts involving neutrinos or gamma-ray bursts, even those with poor spatial localization. We present the different facilities, tools, and methods we developed for this network and show its efficiency using observations of LIGO/Virgo S190425z, a binary neutron star merger candidate.We furthermore report on allGRANDMAfollow-up observations performed during the first six months of the LIGO-Virgo observational campaign, and we derive constraints on the kilonova properties assuming that the events' locations were imaged by our telescopes. © 2019 The Author(s)., Parts of this research were conducted by the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Gravitational Wave Discovery (OzGrav), through project number CE170100004. Fast radio bursts (FRBs) are intense radio transients whose physical origin remains unknown. Therefore, it is of crucial importance to use a model-independent method to obtain the energy function and cosmic formation rate directly from the observational data. Based on current samples from the Parkes and ASKAP telecsopes, we determine, for the first time, the energy function and formation rate of FRBs by using the Lynden-Bell C − method. The energy function derived from the Parkes sample is a broken power law, however it is a simple power law for the ASKAP sample. For Parkes sample, we derive the formation rate which is roughly consistent with the star formation rate up to z ∼ 1.7 , with a local formation rate of ρ ˙ ( 0 ) ≃ ( 3.2 ± 0.3 ) × 10 4 Gp c − 3 y r − 1 above a detection threshold of 2 Jyms . For ASKAP sample, we find that the formation rate evolves much faster than the star formation rate up to z ∼ 0.7 , namely ρ ˙ ( z ) ∝ ( 1 + z ) 6.9 ± 1.9 , with a local formation rate of ρ ˙ ( 0 ) ≃ ( 4.6 ± 0.8 ) × 10 3 Gp c − 3 y r − 1 above a detection threshold of 51 Jyms . This might be a important clue for the physical origin of FRBs.

We study the luminosity function and formation rate of long gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) by using a maximum likelihood method. This is the first time this method is applied to a well-defined sample of GRBs that is complete in redshift. The sample is composed of 99 bursts detected by the $Swift$ satellite, 81 of them with measured redshift and luminosity for a completeness level of $82\%$. We confirm that a strong redshift evolution in luminosity (with an evolution index of $\delta=2.22^{+0.32}_{-0.31}$) or in density ($\delta=1.92^{+0.20}_{-0.21}$) is needed in order to reproduce the observations well. But since the predicted redshift and luminosity distributions in the two scenarios are very similar, it is difficult to distinguish between these two kinds of evolutions only on the basis of the current sample. Furthermore, we also consider an empirical density case in which the GRB rate density is directly described as a broken power-law function and the luminosity function is taken to be non-evolving. In this case, we find that the GRB formation rate rises like $(1+z)^{3.85^{+0.48}_{-0.45}}$ for $z\leq2$ and is proportional to $(1+z)^{-1.07^{+0.98}_{-1.12}}$ for $z\geq2$. The local GRB rate is $1.49^{+0.63}_{-0.64}$ Gpc$^{-3}$ yr$^{-1}$. The GRB rate may be consistent with the cosmic star formation rate (SFR) at $z\leq2$, but shows an enhancement compared to the SFR at $z\geq2$., Comment: 8 pages, 7 figures, 1 table. The detection of the high-energy (∼290 TeV) neutrino coincident with the flaring blazar TXS 0506+056, the first and only 3σ neutrino-source association to date, provides new, multimessenger tests of the weak equivalence principle (WEP) and Lorentz invariance. Assuming that the flight time difference between the TeV neutrino and gamma-ray photons from the blazar flare is mainly caused by the gravitational potential of the Laniakea supercluster of galaxies, we show that the deviation from the WEP for neutrinos and photons is conservatively constrained to have an accuracy of 10 − 6 – 10 − 7 , which is 3–4 orders of magnitude better than previous results placed by MeV neutrinos from supernova 1987A. In addition, we demonstrate that the association of the TeV neutrino with the blazar flare sets limits on the energy scales of quantum gravity for both linear and quadratic violations of Lorentz invariance (LIV) to E QG , 1 > 3.2 × 10 15 – 3.7 × 10 16 GeV and E QG , 2 > 4.0 × 10 10 – 1.4 × 10 11 GeV. These improve previous limits on both linear and quadratic LIV energy scales in neutrino propagation by 5–7 orders of magnitude.

In this work, we update and enlarge the long gamma-ray burst (GRB) sample detected by the {\it Swift} satellite. Given the incomplete sampling of the faint bursts and the low completeness in redshift measurement, we carefully select a subsample of bright {\it Swift} bursts to revisit the GRB luminosity function (LF) and redshift distribution by taking into account the probability of redshift measurement. Here we also explore two general expressions for the GRB LF, i.e., a broken power-law LF and a triple power-law LF. Our results suggest that a strong redshift evolution in luminosity (with an evolution index of $\delta=1.92^{+0.25}_{-0.37}$) or in density ($\delta=1.26^{+0.33}_{-0.34}$) is required in order to well account for the observations, independent of the assumed expression of the GRB LF. However, in a one-on-one comparison using the Akaike information criterion, the best-fitting evolution model involving the triple power-law LF is statistically preferred over the best-fitting one involving the broken power-law LF with a relative probability of $\sim94.3$\% versus $\sim5.7$\%. Extrapolating our fitting results to the flux limit of the whole {\it Swift} sample, and considering the trigger probability of {\it Swift}/Burst Alert Telescope in detail, we find that the expectations from our evolution models provide a good representation of the observed distributions of the whole sample without the need for any adjustment of the model free parameters. We have searched for weak fast radio burst (FRB) events using a database containing 568,736,756 transient events detected using the Parkes radio telescope between 1997 and 2001. In order to classify these pulses, and to identify likely FRB candidates, we used a machine learning algorithm based on ResNet. We identified 81 new candidate FRBs and provide details of their positions, event times, and dispersion measures. These events were detected in only one beam of the Parkes multibeam receiver. We used a relatively low S/N cutoff threshold when selecting these bursts and some have dispersion measures only slightly exceeding the expected Galactic contribution. We therefore present these candidate FRBs as a guide for follow-up observations in the search for repeating FRBs., 8 pages, 5 figures, 2 tables, accepted by MNRAS

We report the discovery of a new unidentified extended $\gamma$-ray source in the Galactic plane named LHAASO J0341+5258 with a pre-trial significance of 8.2 standard deviations above 25 TeV. The best fit position is R.A.$=55.34^{\circ}\pm0.11^{\circ}$ and Dec$=52.97^{\circ}\pm0.07^{\circ}$. The angular size of LHAASO J0341+5258 is $0.29^\circ \pm 0.06^\circ_{stat} \pm0.02^\circ_{sys}$. The flux above 25 TeV is about $20\%$ of the flux of Crab Nebula. Although a power-law fit of the spectrum from 10 TeV to 200 TeV with the photon index $\alpha=2.98 \pm 0.19_{stat} \pm 0.02_{sys}$ is not excluded, the LHAASO data together with the flux upper limit at 10 GeV set by the Fermi LAT observation, indicate a noticeable steepening of an initially hard power-law spectrum %($\alpha \leq 1.75$) spectrum with a cutoff at $\approx 50$ TeV. We briefly discuss the origin of UHE gamma-rays. The lack of an energetic pulsar and a young SNR inside or in the vicinity of LHAASO J0341+5258 challenge, but do not exclude both the leptonic and hadronic scenarios of gamma-ray production., Comment: Accepted by APJL

Explosive astrophysical transients at cosmological distances can be used to place precision tests of the basic assumptions of relativity theory, such as Lorentz invariance, the photon zero-mass hypothesis, and the weak equivalence principle (WEP). Signatures of Lorentz invariance violations (LIV) include vacuum dispersion and vacuum birefringence. Sensitive searches for LIV using astrophysical sources such as gamma-ray bursts, active galactic nuclei, and pulsars are discussed. The most direct consequence of a nonzero photon rest mass is a frequency dependence in the velocity of light propagating in vacuum. A detailed representation of how to obtain a combined severe limit on the photon mass using fast radio bursts at different redshifts through the dispersion method is presented. The accuracy of the WEP has been well tested based on the Shapiro time delay of astrophysical messengers traveling through a gravitational field. Some caveats of Shapiro delay tests are discussed. In this article, we review and update the status of astrophysical tests of fundamental physics.

There are some similarities between bursts of repeating fast radio bursts (FRBs) and giant pulses (GPs) of pulsars. To explore possible relations between them, we study the cumulative energy distributions of these two phenomena using the observations of repeating FRB 121102 and the GPs of Crab pulsar. We find that the power-law slope of GPs (with fluence ≥130 Jy·ms) is 2.85±0.10. The energy distribution of FRB 121102 can be well fitted by a smooth broken power-law function. For the bursts of FRB 121102 above the break energy (1.22 · 1037 erg), the best-fitting slope is 2.90 −0.44 +0.55 , similar to the index of GPs at the same observing frequency (

The variability in multi-pulse gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) may help to reveal the mechanism of underlying processes from the central engine. To investigate whether the self-organized criticality (SOC) phenomena exist in the prompt phase of GRBs, we statistically study the properties of GRBs with more than 3 pulses in each burst by fitting the distributions of several observed physical variables with a Markov Chain Monte Carlo approach, including the isotropic energy Eiso, the duration time T, and the peak count rate P of each pulse. Our sample consists of 454 pulses in 93 GRBs observed by the CGRO/BATSE satellite. The best-fitting values and uncertainties for these power-law indices of the differential frequency distributions are: $$\alpha_E^d=1.54\pm0.09, \alpha_T^d=1.82\pm_{0.15}^{+0.14}\;and\;\alpha_P^d=2.09_{-019}^{+0.18}$$ , while the power-law indices in the cumulative frequency distributions are: $$\alpha_E^c=1.44_{-0.10}^{+0.08}, \alpha_T^c=1.75_-{0.13}^{+0.141}\;and\;\alpha_P^c=1.99_{-019}^{+0.16}$$ . We find that these distributions are roughly consistent with the physical framework of a Fractal-Diffusive, Self-Organized Criticality (FD-SOC) system with the spatial dimension S = 3 and the classical diffusion I²=1. Our results support that the jet responsible for the GRBs should be magnetically dominated and magnetic instabilities (e.g., kink model, or tearing-model instability) lead the GRB emission region into the SOC state.

Studies have shown that acupuncture is very effective in treating chronic stress depression. However, little is known about the therapeutic mechanism of electro-acupuncture. Metabolomics, on the other hand, is a technology that determines the metabolic changes of organisms caused by various interventions as a whole and is related to the overall effect of electro-acupuncture (EA). 1HNMR, serum sample analysis, and histopathology and molecular biology analysis were used to evaluate the effects of EA. The results show that electro-acupuncture points can regulate the heat pain threshold of chronic stress model rats and change the morphology of adrenal cortex cells Structure, and regulate the contents of corticotropin-releasing hormone, Corticosterone (CORT), glucose, alanine and valine in the samples. These findings help to clarify the therapeutic mechanism of electro-acupuncture on heterologous chronic stress model rats. The effect of electro-acupuncture on improving chronic stress is likely to be achieved by regulating glucose metabolism, which can provide a reference for clinical acupuncture treatment of chronic stress depression.

Violations of both the weak equivalence principle (WEP) and Lorentz invariance can produce vacuum birefringence, which leads to an energy-dependent rotation of the polarization vector of linearly polarized emission from a given astrophysical source. However, the search for the birefringent effect has been hindered by our ignorance concerning the intrinsic polarization angle in different energy bands. Considering the contributions to the observed linear polarization angle from both the intrinsic polarization angle and the rotation angles induced by violations of the WEP and Lorentz invariance, and assuming the intrinsic polarization angle is an unknown constant, we simultaneously obtain robust bounds on possible deviations from the WEP and Lorentz invariance, by directly fitting the multiwavelength polarimetric data of the optical afterglows of gamma-ray burst (GRB) 020813 and GRB 021004. Here, we show that at the $$3\sigma $$ confidence level, the difference of the parameterized post-Newtonian parameter $$\gamma $$ values characterizing the departure from the WEP is constrained to be $$\varDelta \gamma =\left( -4.5^{+10.0}_{-16.0}\right) \times 10^{-24}$$ and the birefringent parameter $$\eta $$ quantifying the broken degree of Lorentz invariance is limited to be $$\eta =\left( 6.5^{+15.0}_{-14.0}\right) \times 10^{-7}$$ . These are the first simultaneous verifications of the WEP and Lorentz invariance in the photon sector. More stringent limits can be expected as the analysis presented here is applied to future multiwavelength polarization observations in the prompt gamma-ray emission of GRBs.

We use the age measurements of 114 old astrophysical objects (OAO) in the redshift range $0\lesssim z\lesssim 8$ to explore the Hubble tension. The age of the Universe at any $z$ is inversely proportional to the Hubble constant, $H_0$, so requiring the Universe to be older than the OAO it contains at any $z$ will lead to an upper limit on $H_0$. Assuming flat $\Lambda$CDM and setting a Gaussian prior on the matter density parameter $\Omega_{\rm m}=0.315\pm0.007$ informed by {\it Planck}, we obtain a 95\% confidence-level upper limit of $H_0, Comment: 13 pages, 6 figures, 2 tables. The protocol presented herein, is for the first time, via a novel transformation where Ferric Nitrate promotes imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine structural metamorphosis to the title compound quaternary succinimides. High compatibility, easy work-up, and excellent yields are the advantages of this protocol. The quaternary α-aminosuccinimides are expected to have great potential in synthesizing quaternary α-amino acids and applications in medicinal chemistry.

The main scientific goal of the LHAASO WFCTA experiment is to measure the cosmic ray energy spectra and composition from 10 TeV to 1 EeV. Cherenkov photons in the extensive air shower measured by the SiPM camera of Cherenkov telescopes can be used to reconstruct the cosmic ray energy. The absolute calibration of the camera is a crucial step to achieve the accurate measurement of the cosmic ray energy spectrum. A multi-wavelength cylindrical illuminator based on LEDs is developed and mounted inside the telescope to calibrate and monitor the camera, and the illuminator’s stability is better than 0.5% under the temperature variation from -26 to 26 ° C. A portable probe with a single photoelectron resolution of 21.6% is developed. After calibration by National Institute of Metrology, China (NIM), the probe is taken to the LHAASO site to measure the absolute photon density of the cylindrical illuminator inside the telescope. Based on the illuminator with known photon density, the photon conversion factor of the camera can be calibrated, and the overall calibration uncertainty is less than 2.6%.

Several satellite missions have uncovered a series of potential anomalies in the fluctuation spectrum of the cosmic microwave background temperature, including: (1) an unexpectedly low level of correlation at large angles, manifested via the angular correlation function, C(theta); and (2) missing power in the low multipole moments of the angular power spectrum, C_ell. Their origin is still debated, however, due to a persistent lack of clarity concerning the seeding of quantum fluctuations in the early Universe. A likely explanation for the first of these appears to be a cutoff, k_min=(3.14 +/- 0.36) x 10^{-4} Mpc^{-1}, in the primordial power spectrum, P(k). Our goal in this paper is twofold: (1) we examine whether the same k_min can also self-consistently explain the missing power at large angles, and (2) we confirm that the of this cutoff in P(k) does not adversely affect the remarkable consistency between the prediction of Planck-LCDM and the Planck measurements at ell > 30. We use the publicly available code CAMB to calculate the angular power spectrum, based on a line-of-sight approach. The code is modified slightly to include the additional parameter (i.e., k_min) characterizing the primordial power spectrum. In addition to this cutoff, the code optimizes all of the usual standard-model parameters. In fitting the angular power spectrum, we find an optimized cutoff, k_min = 2.04^{+1.4}_{-0.79} x 10^{-4} Mpc^{-1}, when using the whole range of ell's, and k_min=3.3^{+1.7}_{-1.3} x 10^{-4} Mpc^{-1}, when fitting only the range ell < 30, where the Sachs-Wolfe effect is dominant. These are fully consistent with the value inferred from C(theta), suggesting that both of these large-angle anomalies may be due to the same truncation in P(k)., 9 pages, 4 figures, 1 table. The recent discovery of a Galactic fast radio burst (FRB) associated with a hard X-ray burst from the soft gamma-ray repeater (SGR) J1935+2154 has established the magnetar origin of at least some FRBs. In this work, we study the statistical properties of soft gamma-/hard X-ray bursts from SGRs 1806--20 and J1935+2154 and of radio bursts from the repeating FRB 121102. For SGRs, we show that the probability density functions for the differences of fluences, fluxes, and durations at different times have fat tails with a $q$-Gaussian form. The $q$ values in the $q$-Gaussian distributions are approximately steady and independent of the temporal interval scale adopted, implying a scale-invariant structure of SGRs. These features indicate that SGR bursts may be governed by a self-organizing criticality (SOC) process, confirming previous findings. Very recently, 1652 independent bursts from FRB 121102 have been detected by the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST). Here we also investigate the scale-invariant structure of FRB 121102 based on the latest observations of FAST, and show that FRB 121102 and SGRs share similar statistical properties. Given the bimodal energy distribution of FRB 121102 bursts, we separately explore the scale-invariant behaviors of low- and high-energy bursts of FRB 121102. We find that the $q$ values of low- and high-energy bursts are different, which further strengthens the evidence of the bimodality of the energy distribution. Scale invariance in both the high-energy component of FRB 121102 and SGRs can be well explained within the same physical framework of fractal-diffusive SOC systems., 9 pages, 3 figures, 1 table. Assuming that the early optical emission is dominated by the external reverse shock (RS) in the standard model of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs), we intend to constrain RS models with the initial Lorentz factor $\Gamma_0$ of the outflows based on the ROTSE-III observations. We consider two cases of the RS behavior: the relativistic shock and the non-relativistic shock. For homogeneous interstellar medium (ISM) and wind circum-burst environment, the constraints can be achieved by the fact that the peak flux $F_{\rm \nu}$ at the RS crossing time should be lower than the observed upper limit $F_{\rm \nu,limit}$. We consider the different spectral regimes that the observed optical frequency $\nu_{\rm opt}$ may locate in, which are divided by the orders for the minimum synchrotron frequency $\nu_{\rm m}$ and the cooling frequency $\nu_{\rm c}$. {\bf Considering the homogeneous and wind environment around GRBs, we find that the relativistic RS case can be constrained by the (upper and lower) limits of $\Gamma_0$ in a large range from about hundreds to thousands for 36 GRBs reported by ROTSE-III. The constraints on the non-relativistic RS case are achieved with limits of $\Gamma_0$ for 26 bursts ranging from $\sim 30$ to $\sim 350$.} The lower limits of $\Gamma_0$ achieved for the relativistic RS model is disfavored based on the previously discovered correlation between the initial Lorentz factor $\Gamma_0$ and the isotropic gamma-ray energy $E_{\rm \gamma, iso}$ released in prompt phase.

A novel method has been established for the construction of C-S bonds using redox-active esters with disulfides in the presence of Ru-photoredox catalyst. This method exhibits remarkable functional group tolerance across a wide scope of substrates. Under mild conditions, a structurally diverse array of aryl alkyl sulfides is successfully and efficiently obtained through decarboxylative cross-coupling.

The Water Cherenkov Detector Array (WCDA) is a major component of the Large High Altitude Air Shower Array Observatory (LHAASO), a new generation cosmic-ray experiment with unprecedented sensitivity, currently under construction. The WCDA is aimed at the study of TeV $\gamma$-rays. In order to evaluate the prospects of searching for TeV $\gamma$-ray sources with the WCDA, we present in this paper a projection for the one-year sensitivity of the WCDA to TeV $\gamma$-ray sources from TeVCat (footnote: http://tevcat.uchicago.edu) using an all-sky approach. Out of 128 TeVCat sources observable to the WCDA up to a zenith angle of $45^\circ$, we estimate that 42 would be detectable for one year of observations at a median energy of 1 TeV.
