We used the questionnaire "Mosaic of Opinions on Induced Abortion" to conduct a multi-centered study to evaluate the perspectives of physicians, nurses, social workers, psychologists and pharmacists on the morality of abortion. In all, 254 participants constituted the sample. The inadequate knowledge on Brazilian abortion laws was the only determinant negatively associated with the construct "Sexual and Reproductive Rights", corroborating the hypothesis that a better understanding of abortion legislation could mitigate the opposition of some professionals to the ethical perspective that access to safe abortion should be seen as a sexual and reproductive right.

Objectives: to construct and validate an instrument for the classification of mother-baby binomials that subsidizes personnel Staffing in in-rooming units. Method: methodological study. The construction was based on theoretical and legal references. Content validity was performed by experts through the content validity index measurement. Then, the instrument was applied to a sample of 122 binomials, and exploratory factor analysis was performed using the principal components analysis. Results: the instrument consisted of seven care indicators: Birth route; Maternal morbidity; Neonatal morbidity; Breastfeeding; Social aggravating factors; Care guidance; and interaction and bonding. All with content validity index of 1. The construct was composed of 3 domains, with Cronbach’s alpha of 0.62, 0.85 and 0.89. Conclusions: the classification instrument of mother-baby binomials allows the classification of mother-baby binomials and may support personnel Staffing in in-rooming units. RESUMEN Objetivos: elaborar y validar un instrumento para clasificación de binomios puerperio neonatal que subsidie el dimensionamiento de personal en unidades de alojamiento conjunto. Métodos: estudio metodológico. La construcción ha sido basada en referencias teóricas y legales. La validez de contenido ha sido realizada por expertos por medio de medición del índice de validez de contenido. Luego, el instrumento ha sido aplicado en una muestra de 122 binomios, y ha sido realizado análisis factorial exploratoria por el método de componentes principales. Resultados: el instrumento ha quedó constituido por siete indicadores de cuidado: Vía de parto; Morbilidad materna; Morbilidad neonatal; Amamantamiento; Agravantes sociales; Orientación de cuidados; e Interacción y vínculo. Todos con índice de validez de contenido iguales a 1. El constructo ha sido compuesto por 3 dominios, con Alfa de Cronbach de 0,62, 0,85 y 0,89. Conclusiones: el instrumento para la clasificación de binomios puerperio neonatal permite la clasificación de binomios puerperio neonatal y podrá basarse el dimensionamiento de personal en alojamiento conjunto. RESUMO Objetivo: verificar a estrutura de fatores do Instrumento para Mensuração do Impacto da Doença no Cotidiano do Valvopata (IDCV) quando aplicado em coronariopatas. Método: fizeram parte deste estudo 153 coronariopatas em seguimento ambulatorial. A estrutura de fatores do IDCV foi inicialmente avaliada por meio da análise confirmatória de fatores e, subsequentemente, por meio da análise exploratória de fatores. Utilizou-se o método de estimação dos componentes principais de análise com rotação Varimax e eigenvalues acima de um para extração de fatores e carga fatorial superior a 0,40 para seleção dos itens. A consistência interna foi estimada por meio do coeficiente alfa de Cronbach. Resultados: a análise confirmatória não confirmou a estrutura original de fatores do IDCV. A análise exploratória de fatores evidenciou três dimensões que, em conjunto, explicaram 78% da variância da medida. Conclusão: estudos futuros com ampliação da casuística são necessários para confirmação da nova estrutura de fatores do IDCV. RESUMEN Objetivo: verificar la estructura de factores del Instrumento para Medición del Impacto de la Enfermedad en el Cotidiano del Valvulópata (IDVC) aplicado a enfermos coronarios. Método: formaron parte de este estudio 153 enfermos coronarios en seguimiento ambulatorio. Estructura de factores del IDVC evaluada inicialmente mediante análisis confirmatorio de factores, y luego por análisis exploratorio de factores. Se aplicó método de estimación de componentes principales de análisis con rotación Varimax y eigenvalues por sobre 1 para extracción de factores, y carga factorial superior a 0,40 para selección de ítems. Consistencia interna estimada mediante coeficiente alfa de Cronbach. Resultados: el análisis confirmatorio no confirmó la estructura original de factores del IDCV. El análisis exploratorio de factores evidenció tres dimensiones que, en conjunto, explicaron el 78% de la diferencia de la medida. Conclusión: estudios futuros con casuística ampliada serán necesarios para confirmación de la nueva estructura de factores del IDCV. Aim. To evaluate the psychometric Instrument to Measure the Impact of Coronary Disease on Patient’s Everyday Life (IDCV)when applied on patients with coronary disease being followed at an outpatient clinic.Methods. One hundred and fifty-three patients with coronary disease were registered. Patients were analysed in terms ofacceptability, ceiling and floor effect, reliability (using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient) and convergent construct validity (bymeans of Spearman correlation) between the domains of IDCV and of ‘Medical Outcomes Trust Short-form Health Survey(SF-36)’ and ‘MacNew Heart Disease Health-related Quality of Life Questionnaire’.Results. Evidence was found for high acceptability of IDCV. No evidence was found for ceiling and floor effects regarding thetotal score of IDCV; however, ceiling and floor effects were found from the adjustment to the disease domain. Evidence wasfound for reliability of the instrument as a whole and for its domains (Cronbach’s a ranged between 0AE70–0AE85). Similardomains on the IDCV, MacNew and SF-36 were correlated: Physical impact – symptoms on the IDCV with the physicalfunction domain on MacNew (r = 0AE64) and with most domains on the SF-36 related to the physical dimension; Socialimpact and emotional impact on the IDCV with emotional function (r = 0AE53) and social function (r = 0AE55) on theMacNew and mental health on SF-36 (r = 0AE55). However, smaller correlations of moderate/high magnitude were foundbetween different constructs entre: Social and emotional impact on the IDCV with physical function on the MacNew(r = 0AE56) and with the following domains: Functional capacity (r = 0AE50), general health (r = 0AE52) and vitality(r = 0AE50) on SF-36.Conclusion. The IDCV is an instrument with evidence regarding reliability and convergent validity also for the population ofpatients with coronary disease. Further studies to validate its factor structure could offer contributions for understanding thepsychometric performance of the IDCV among patients with coronary disease.Key words: coronary disease, nursing, quality of life, validation study

Introdução: O câncer altera inúmeros aspectos no modo de vida do indivíduo. Objetivos: Realizar uma revisão sistemática de publicações científicas relacionadas a neoplasias mamárias, mastectomia e qualidade de vida; avaliar as relações existentes entre as mesmas. Material e método: Pesquisa sobre a produção científica em periódicos indexados nos bancos de dados Lilacs e Medline, no período 2000-2005. Para a coleta dos dados foi utilizado um questionário dividido em: identificação do artigo; delineamento metodológico do estudo, qualidade de vida. A amostra foi de 42 artigos e 01 dissertação. Resultados: Apontam que a maior parte dos estudos apresentava deficiência de rigor metodológico na mensuração da qualidade de vida e, além disso, não mencionou estratégias e condutas para melhoria da mesma. Conclusão: Os trabalhos permitem identificar e direcionar para a construção de novos projetos de pesquisa.

Aim. This study was to verify the psychometric properties of the Heart Valve Disease Impact on daily life, an instrument for measuring the impact of illness in the daily life of the heart valve disease patient, related to its construct validity, criterion-related validity and reliability. Methods. One hundred and twenty heart valve disease outpatients were enrolled. Data were submitted to descriptive analysis, factor analysis, Pearson's correlation coefficient and Cronbach's alpha coefficient. Results. The factor analysis generated four factors that explained 58% of the variance in response to the Heart Valve Disease Impact on daily life. Weak to moderate correlation was measured between the Heart Valve Disease Impact on daily life total score and two of its factors and the General Measure of Impact of illness, indicating criterion-related validity. A Cronbach's alpha of 0·74 was measured. Conclusion. The results of the current study confirm both the construct and criterion validity and the internal consistency of the Heart Valve Disease Impact on daily life. Future studies are necessary to confirm its reliability and provide a better understanding of the meaning of the Heart Valve Disease Impact on daily life dimensions, as well as to evaluate its response to health interventions. Relevance to clinical practice. The Heart Valve Disease Impact on daily life could be a useful instrument to measure the impact of heart valve disease and to evaluate the response to health interventions.

to analyze the sociodemographic and clinical characteristics of patients with valvular heart disease and to verify the influence of these variables on the impact of valve disease in daily life.the study involved 86 outpatients. Data collection was performed in two stages - face-to-face interview for sociodemographic and clinical characterization and through telephone contact for the application of the Instrument to Measure the Impact of Valvular Heart Disease on Patient's Everyday Life (IDCV). Data were analyzed through descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis.it was noticed that the total score of IDCV and its domains were influenced by age, schooling, presence or absence of symptoms, use or not of diuretic.The impact of the disease was influenced by sociodemographic and clinical variables. The results provide subsidies for the design of nursing interventions aimed at reducing the impact of the disease on the patient's daily life with valve disease.

This study evaluated the acceptability, ceiling/floor effects, and the reliability of the instrument for measuring the Impact of the Disease on the Daily Life of Patients with Valvular Disease (IDCV) when applied to 135 patients with heart failure (HF). Acceptability was evaluated by the percentage of unanswered items and by the proportion of patients who responded to all items; the ceiling/floor effects by the percentage of patients who scored in the top of 10% best and worst results of the scale, respectively. Reliability was estimated by internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha coefficient) and stability of the measure (intraclass correlation coefficient - ICC). All patients responded to all items. Ceiling/floor effects evidenced were of moderate magnitude. The Cronbach's alpha was satisfactory for the majority of the domains and ICC> 0.90 in all the domains. The IDCV proved to be an easy to understand questionnaire, with evidence of reliability in patients with HF. Este estudio evaluó la aceptabilidad, los efectos pico/tierra y la confiabilidad del instrumento para medir el impacto de la enfermedad en la vida diaria de pacientes con valvulopatía – (IDCV) aplicado a 135 pacientes con insuficiencia cardíaca. La aceptabilidad fue evaluada por el porcentaje de ítems no respondidos y por la proporción de pacientes que respondieron a todas los ítems; los efectos pico/tierra se calcularon como el porcentaje de pacientes que marcaron en los 10% mejores y en los peores resultados de la escala, respectivamente. La confiabilidad fue estimada por medio de la consistencia interna (coeficiente alfa de Cronbach) y de la estabilidad de la medida (coeficiente de correlación intra-clase - CCI). Todos los pacientes respondieron a todos los ítems. Se evidenció efectos pico/tierra de moderada magnitud. Se constató alfa de Cronbach satisfactorio para la mayoría de los dominios y CCI> 0,90 en todos los dominios. El IDCV demostró ser un cuestionario de fácil comprensión, con evidencias de confiabilidad en pacientes con IC. Este estudo avaliou a aceitabilidade, os efeitos teto/chão e a confiabilidade do instrumento para mensuração do impacto da doença no cotidiano do valvopata (IDCV) quando aplicado a 135 pacientes com insuficiência cardíaca. A aceitabilidade foi avaliada pelo percentual de itens não respondidos e pela proporção de pacientes que responderam a todos os itens; os efeitos teto/chão pela percentagem de pacientes que pontuaram nos 10% melhores e nos piores resultados da escala, respectivamente. Este estudo estimou a validade de constructo pelo teste de grupos conhecidos do Instrumento para Mensuração do Impacto da Doença no Cotidiano do Valvopata (IDCV) quanto a sinais e sintomas, função ventricular sistólica, fração de ejeção do ventrículo esquerdo (FEVE) e qualidade de vida relacionada à saúde (QVRS) em 153 coronariopatas em seguimento ambulatorial. Os dados foram obtidos pela aplicação do IDCV e das versões brasileiras do The Medical Study 36-item Short Form Health Survey – SF-36 e MacNew Heart Disease Health-related Quality of Life Questionnair e. Foi utilizado o teste de Mann-Whitney para verificar a capacidade do IDCV em discriminar o impacto quanto a sinais e sintomas, FEVE e disfunção sistólica ventricular, bem como o teste de Kruskal-Wallis para verificar seu poder de discriminação em relação à QVRS. Constatou-se que o IDCV discriminou o impacto entre aqueles que pontuaram nos quartis (≤Q1, Q1-Q3, ≥Q3) de QVRS. Os achados deste estudo contribuem para o refinamento do IDCV na mensuração do impacto da doença entre coronariopatas. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo estimar la validez de constructo por medio de pruebas en grupos conocidos del Instrumento para Medición del Impacto de la Enfermedad en la vida diaria del paciente con valvulopatía, relacionado a la búsqueda de signos y síntomas, función ventricular sistólica, fracción de eyección ventricular izquierda (FEVI) y la calidad de vida relacionada con la salud (CVRS). Fue ejecutado en 153 pacientes con enfermedad coronaria que realizaban control regular en los consultorios externos. La recolección de los datos fue a través de la aplicación del instrumento específico y de las versiones brasileñas del The Medical Study 36-item Short Form Health Survey – SF-36 y MacNew Heart Disease Health-related Quality of Life Questionnair e. Fue utilizado la prueba de Mann-Whitney para verificar la capacidad del Instrumento para Medición del Impacto de la Enfermedad en la vida diaria del paciente con valvulopatía y discriminar el impacto en relación con los signos y síntomas, la fracción de eyección ventricular izquierda (FEVI) y la disfunción sistólica ventricular izquierda; así como la prueba de Kruskal-Wallis para comprobar el poder de discriminación en relación con la CVRS. Fue constatado que el IDCV fue capaz de discriminar el impacto entre los sujetos que puntuaron en los cuartiles (≤Q1, Q1-Q3, ≥Q3) de la CVRS. Orientadores: Maria Cecília Jayme Bueno Gallani, Roberta Cunha Matheus Rodrigues Tese (doutorado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Faculdade de Enfermagem Resumo: Este estudo teve como objetivo geral avaliar a responsividade do Instrumento para Mensuração do Impacto da Doença no Cotidiano do Valvopata (IDCV) junto às pacientes submetidos à cirurgia cardiaca eletiva de troca valvar (TV) ou de revascularizaçao miocardica (RM), comparando os escores obtidos no periodo pré-operatorio e três e seis meses apos o procedimento cirurgico. A amostra foi composta de 161 pacientes, sendo 80 portadores de valvopatia e submetidos à cirurgia de TV e 81 de coronariopatia, submetidos à cirurgia de RM. Os pacientes foram abordados inicialmente (T1) quando internados aguardando cirurgia cardíaca, e posteriormente, nos retornos para consulta médica 3 meses (T2) e 6 meses (T3) após o procedimento cirúrgico. A responsividade foi avaliada por meio do método baseado na distribuição dos dados, utilizando o tamanho do efeito (TE) e a resposta média padronizada, e também do método baseado em âncoras. As medidas utilizadas para o método de âncoras foram: avaliação global de mudança, capacidade física (Veterans Specific Activity Questionnaire -VSAQ), dispnéia ( Índice de dispnéia modificado - MDI), fadiga (Pictograma de fadiga), ansiedade e depressão (Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale - HADS). Os dados foram analisados considerando os intervalos: T1 - T2; T2 - T3; e T1 - T3. Comprovou-se a responsividade do IDCV total e seus domínios nas duas populações estudadas por meio do TE e da resposta média padronizada ao se detectar de moderado a grande grau de mudança nos três intervalos de avaliação. Junto aos pacientes valvopatas foram obtidos valores do TE e da resposta média padronizada para o IDCV total variando de 0,95 a 2,09 e 2,17 a 2,99, respectivamente. E entre os coronariopatas de 1,36 a 2,41 e 1,77 a 2,99, respectivamente para TE e para a resposta média padronizada. Apenas o o domínio Adaptação à doença variou de sem mudança (TE=0,12) a grande mudança (TE=0.89) entre os valvopatas e de 0,48 a 1,02 entre os coronariopatas; a resposta média padronizada comportou-se de xvi maneira semelhante ao TE para este domínio. No que se refere à diferença minimamente importante, avaliada pelas âncoras relacionadas à sintomatologia (dispnéia e fadiga), foram observados escores médios do IDCV total de forma crescente, na qual a mudança mínima foi menor que a moderada e esta menor que a mudança substancial. Pode-se concluir que tanto o escore total do IDCV total como de seus domínios foram capazes de detectar mudanças ao longo do tempo em pacientes portadores de valvopatia e coronariopatia, submetidos à cirurgia cardíaca Abstract: This study aimed at evaluating the responsiveness of the Instrument to measure the Impact of Valve Heart Disease on Patient's Daily Life (IDCV) with a population of patients with valve heart and coronary artery diseases by comparing the scores obtained before and after the interventional procedure, up to six months post operatory. The sample consisted of 161 participants: 81 coronary artery disease and 80 valve heart disease patients. Initially, the patients were approached when hospitalized awaiting elective cardiac surgery (T1), and they returned after 3 months (T2) and 6 months (T3). Responsiveness was assessed by data distribution methods, using the effect size (ES) and standardized response mean (SRM) and anchor-based methods by applying the global evaluation of change, the Veterans Specific Activity Questionnaire (VSAQ), the Modified Dyspnea Index (MDI), the Fatigue Pictogram, and the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS). Data were analyzed considering the intervals: T1 - T2; T2 - T3; and T1 - T3. IDCV's responsiveness was proved in the two populations studied by the SE and SRM to detect moderate to large degree of change in the three assessment intervals. Patients with valve heart disease obtained values of ES and SRM for full IDCV ranging from 0.95 to 2.09 and from 2.17 to 2.99, respectively. And among coronary patients from 1.36 to 2.41 and from 1.77 to 2.99, respectively, for ES and SRM. Among valve heart disease patients, only the Adaptation to illness domain ranged from "no change" (ES = 0.12) to "big change "(ES = 0.89); and among the coronary artery patients from 0.48 to 1.02, the SRM behaved similarly to ES for this domain. The minimally important difference was noticed by the studied patients when evaluated by anchors related symptoms (dyspnea and fatigue) presenting increasingly average scores of IDCV total, in which the minimal change was less than moderate and the moderate change less than substantial. OBJECTIVE: to evaluate the feasibility, acceptability, the ceiling and floor effects and the reliability of the Instrument to Measure the Impact of Coronary Disease on Patient's Daily Life (IDCV) when applied to hypertensive patients. METHOD: one hundred and thirty seven hypertensive outpatients were interviewed, using questionnaires to collect sociodemographic and clinical data, followed by the IDCV. Reliability was assessed according to the temporal stability and internal consistency criteria. RESULTS: the IDCV was applied in 8.0 (±3.0) minutes with 100% of the items answered. A ceiling effect of 31.4% was observed in the domain Adjustment to the Disease. The stability measure was observed for the total score and for all domains. There was evidence of internal consistency of the total IDCV (α=0.83) and the domains Physical Impact of the Disease - Symptoms (α=0.78) and Social and Emotional Impact of the Disease (α=0.74). CONCLUSION: the IDCV is an instrument of easy use and its reliability among hypertensive patients is evidenced. The domain Adjustment to the Disease, however, should be reviewed in further studies. OBJETIVO: evaluar la practicidad, la aceptabilidad, los efectos techo y suelo y la confiabilidad del Instrumento para Medir el Impacto de la Enfermedad en lo Cotidiano del paciente con Valvulopatía (IDCV) portador de hipertensión arterial. MÉTODO: fueron entrevistados 137 pacientes hipertensos acompañados en ambulatorio, con aplicación de los cuestionarios de caracterización sociodemográfica y clínica e del IDCV, secuencialmente. La confiabilidad fue evaluada según los criterios de la estabilidad temporal y de la consistencia interna. RESULTADOS: el IDCV fue aplicado en 8,0 (±3,0) minutos con 100% de los ítems respondidos. Fue evidenciado efecto techo de 31,4% en el dominio Adaptación a la Enfermedad. La estabilidad de la medida fue evidenciada para el puntaje total y para todos los dominios. Hubo evidencias de consistencia interna del IDCV total (α=0,83) y para los dominios Impacto Físico de la Enfermedad-Síntomas (α=0,78) e Impacto Social y Emocional de la Enfermedad (α=0,74). CONCLUSIÓN: el IDCV es un instrumento de fácil aplicación, con evidencias de confiabilidad en pacientes hipertensos. El dominio de Adaptación a la Enfermedad, entretanto debe ser revisado en estudios futuros. OBJETIVO: avaliar a praticabilidade, a aceitabilidade, os efeitos-teto e chão e a confiabilidade do instrumento para mensuração do impacto da doença no cotidiano do valvopata em pacientes hipertensos. MÉTODO: foram entrevistados 137 pacientes hipertensos em seguimento ambulatorial, com aplicação dos questionários de caracterização sociodemográfica e clínica e impacto da doença no cotidiano do valvopata, sequencialmente. A confiabilidade foi avaliada segundo os critérios da estabilidade temporal e de consistência interna. RESULTADOS: o impacto da doença no cotidiano do valvopata foi aplicado em 8,0 (±3,0) minutos com 100% dos itens respondidos. Foi evidenciado efeito-teto de 31,4% no domínio adaptação à doença. A estabilidade da medida foi evidenciada para o escore total e para todos os domínios. Houve evidências de consistência interna do impacto da doença no cotidiano do valvopata total (α=0,83) e para os domínios impacto físico da doença - sintomas (α=0,78) e impacto social e emocional da doença (α=0,74). CONCLUSÃO: Conclusão: o impacto da doença no cotidiano do valvopata é instrumento de fácil aplicação, com evidências de confiabilidade em pacientes hipertensos. O domínio adaptação à doença, entretanto, deve ser revisto em estudos futuros.

SUMMARY In Brasil, abortion is legal in cases of rape, when there is a risk of maternal death, and in cases of fetal anencephaly. However, the literature reports that some doctors refuse to care for women with such demands or come to perform it in a discriminatory manner. OBJECTIVE: Pretest, test and evaluate the measurement properties of the “Mosaic of Opinions on Induced Abortion,” a questionnaire developed to investigate the perspectives of Brazilian healthcare professionals about the morality of abortion. METHODS: Firstly, the questionnaire was pretested in an intentional sample of specialists. Secondly, it was tested in a randomized sample of 32 healthcare professionals. Finally, we conducted a multi-center study in seven university hospitals to evaluate the measurement properties of the questionnaire. RESULTS: Combined samples of the three phases totalized 430 individuals. In pretest and test, all the evaluated aspects obtained satisfactory results. In the multicenter phase, confirmatory factorial analysis led to an important reduction of the questionnaire, which also obtained good indicators of reliability, beyond the validation of construct and criteria. CONCLUSION: Questionnaire has been validated and is suitable for use in other surveys in Brasil.
