Meteor plasmas and impact events are complex, dynamic natural phenomena. Simulating these processes in the laboratory is, however, a challenge. The technique of laser induced dielectric breakdown was first used for this purpose almost 50 years ago. Since then, laser-based experiments have helped to simulate high energy processes in the Tunguska and Chicxulub impact events, heavy bombardment on the early Earth, prebiotic chemical evolution, space weathering of celestial bodies and meteor plasma. This review summarizes the current level of knowledge and outlines possible paths of future development.

Influx of matter from impacting meteoroids and hydrothermal crater weathering are important factors modifying the rock and mineral inventory of young planets undergoing heavy bombardment. These processes may have influenced not only the geochemical environment of, e.g., early Mars and other planets, but also the peculiar prebiotic chemistry on early Earth. Here, we present a synergistic experimental and computational investigation of the intermediates of chemical reactions of the formamide-based synthesis of canonical and non-canonical nucleobases by thermochemistry in hot hydrothermal crater environments. We put our findings into context with previously investigated plasma-initiated synthesis occuring directly during impact. Both processes result into the formation of all canonical nucleobases, hypoxanthine, purine, and into the onset of the simplest amino acid glycine. Furthermore, it turns out that radical species such as CN and H play a key role in the plasma-assisted impact chemistry. However, post-impact thermochemistry is essential for the origin of formamidine and 2-aminoacetonitrile, intermediate species detected in this study by means of FTIR spectroscopy.

Under controlled laboratory conditions, lasers represent a source of energy with well-defined parameters suitable for mimicking phenomena such as ablation, disintegration, and plasma formation processes that take place during the hypervelocity atmospheric entry of meteoroids. Furthermore, lasers have also been proposed for employment in future space exploration and planetary defense in a wide range of potential applications. This highlights the importance of an experimental investigation of lasers’ interaction with real samples of interplanetary matter: meteorite specimens. We summarize the results of numerous meteorite laser ablation experiments performed by several laser sources—a femtosecond Ti:Sapphire laser, the multislab ceramic Yb:YAG Bivoj laser, and the iodine laser known as PALS (Prague Asterix Laser System). The differences in the ablation spots’ morphology and their dependence on the laser parameters are examined via optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and profilometry in the context of the meteorite properties and the physical characteristics of laser-induced plasma.

A numerical simulation model was developed and employed in elemental composition determination and characterization of meteor plasma physical parameters, particularly the plasma excitation temperature and electron density, by fitting the model parameters to the emission spectrum of a bright Leonid bolide recorded in the visible spectral range. Novel model introduced in this study involves self-absorption and enables parallel optimization of tens of the parameters. We also discuss that the observed bolide spectrum is strongly dependent on observation geometry.

- Abstract
The visible spectrum of a bright Leonid bolide was recorded and analyzed by fitting the parameters of a newly developed numerical plasma model. In this procedure, elemental composition, electron density, plasma temperature, and the density of the heavy particles were extracted from the observed spectrum. The model introduced in this study involves self-absorption and takes into account the effects of the non-homogeneous meteoric plasma on the observed emission spectra using a simple radiative transfer model. The research was funded by the Czech Science Foundation (projects nos. 18-27653S, 21-11366S and 20-10591J) and partially Russian Foundation for Basic Research (grant no. 19-52-26006). Department of Spectroscopy is supported by the ERDF/ESF "Centre of Advanced Applied Sciences" project no. CZ.02.1.01/0.0/0.0/16_019/0000778.

Spectra of meteor plasma, their dynamics and dominant spectral features are usually a subject of mathematical modelling and computations. In our study, on the other hand, we describe and evaluate the advantages and limitations of the experimental techniques employed for meteor spectra simulations. The experiments are performed by ablating meteorite samples using a series of laser sources, i.e. a large terawatt−class gas laser infrastructure PALS, a high-power Ti:Sapphire femtosecond laser, and laboratory Nd:YAG and ArF excimer lasers. We demonstrate that, notwithstanding the importance of theoretical spectra computation, laboratory experiments may remarkably enhance the qualitative and quantitative evaluation of the meteor emission spectra measured, as well as the assignment of important spectral features therein. We also perform completing experiments to compare the laser-target interaction observed with the expected dynamics of evaporation and disintegration of a real meteoroid body.

V předkládaném přehledovém článku autoři článku představují legislativní úpravu týkající se rozdílu smrti mozku a nevratné zástavy oběhu (NHBD - non heart beating donor, DCD – donation after cardiac death), které jsou základním pilířem novely transplantačního zákona č. 44/2013 v České republice. Blíže popisují proces dárcovství DCD a kategorizaci dárců orgánů a tkání dle Maastrichských kritérií. In this review article, the authors present the legislative regulation regarding the difference between brain death and irreversible circulatory arrest (NHBD - non heart beating donor, DCD - donation after cardiac death), which are the main pillars of the amendment to the Transplantation Act No. 44/2013 in the Czech Republic. They describe in more detail the process of DCD donation and the categorization of organ and tissue donors according to the Maastrich criteria. They focus on the difference between the diagnosis of brain death and irreversible circulatory arrest. They summarize the issue of staff knowledge about the possibilities of organ and tissue procurement from donors after irreversible circulatory arrest and its basic legislative framework in the Czech Republic in the conclusion of their work.

Protein-protein interactions (PPI) have a crucial role in all processes in living cells. Understanding the interactions between proteins allows us to describe cell processes in more detail and their study opens new possibilities for drug design. The importance of the question of studying PPI is shown in the recent development of various methods for their identification and description. The aim of this thesis is to give an overview of new and improved experimental methods of identification and characterization of protein-protein interactions. Methods described in this thesis are divided in four chapters - proximity-dependent labelling methods (BioID, BioID2, APEX, TurboID, MiniTurbo, PUP-IT, AirID, SPPLAT, EMARS), cross-linking methods (XS-MS), fluorescence methods for identification and visualization (BiFC, FRET, BRET) and biophysical methods for description of kinetics and thermodynamics parameters of interaction (SPR, ITC, MT).

Besides delivering plausible prebiotic feedstock molecules and high-energy initiators, extraterrestrial impacts could also affect the process of abiogenesis by altering the early Earth's geological environment in which primitive life was conceived. We show that iron-rich smectites formed by reprocessing of basalts due to the residual post-impact heat could catalyze the synthesis and accumulation of important prebiotic building blocks such as nucleobases, amino acids and urea.

- Abstract
In this review article, the authors present the legislative regulation regarding the difference between brain death and irreversible circulatory arrest (NHBD – non heart beating donor, DCD – donation after cardiac death), which are the main pillars of the amendment to the Transplantation Act No. 44/2013 in the Czech Republic. They describe in more detail the process of DCD donation and the categorization of organ and tissue donors according to the Maastricht criteria. The main objective of this study is to provide data on the bulk elemental composition, mineralogy and the possible origin of the Porangaba meteorite, whose fall was observed at 17:35 UT on 9 January 2015 on several sites of the state of Sao Paulo in Brazil. The surface of the meteorite was mapped by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and optical microscopy. The mineralogy and the bulk elemental composition of the meteorite were studied using Energy-Dispersive and Wavelength-Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS/WDS) together with Electron Back Scatter Diffraction (EBSD). The bulk elemental composition was also independently analysed by Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS), Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS), Laser Ablation ICP MS (LA ICP-MS) and Calibration-Free Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (CF-LIBS). Based on the available visual camera records of the Porangaba meteorite fall, its orbit was tentatively calculated, and possible candidates for the source bodies in the Solar system were proposed. We also present a laboratory simulation of a Porangaba-like (L4 Ordinary Chondrite) meteor emission spectra. These can be used as benchmark spectra for the identification of meteor rock types through their comparison with meteor spectra recorded by high-speed video-cameras equipped with simple grating spectrographs.

Charles University Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Pharmaceutical Technology Consultant: doc. RNDr. Milan Dittrich, CSc. Student: Marie Křivková Title of Thesis: Modification of parameters of nanoparticles prepared from aliphatic hydroxyacids polyesters Polyesters of aliphatic α-hydroxyacids are mentioned in the theoretical part. A significant part of it is mostly devoted to the polyester PLGA. Physicochemical properties, the process of biodegradation and biodistribution are described there. Subsequently, some examples of PLGA utilization in pharmacy and medicine are mentioned. The theoretical part deals also with the method of diffusion used for nanoparticles preparation, which was used in the experimental part, and the principles of size and surface charge measurements of these nanoparticles. The crucial part of this master thesis is based upon an experiment. It is focused on various approaches to the formulation of nanoparticles out of aliphatic polyester carriers with variable molecular constitution. Polymer PLGA with linear molecule and polymers containing PLGA branched on tripentaerythritol and polyacrylic acid were used. Using the diffusion method, nanoparticles were prepared out of these carriers. The outer water-based phase was modified by use of cetrimide of different...

The thesis on "Contraception in High School and among College Youth" is focused on the mapping of knowledge about the possibilities and methods of contraception. The theoretical part of this bachelor thesis characterizes and defines the concept of contraception and describes its methods and types. It also includes a history of contraception, the sexuality of youth, and the characteristics of development during adolescence. Because it is important not only to teen girls to be thoroughly informed about the possibilities of contraception, the last chapter also mentions the role of the midwife in educating girls about contraception. A methodology of quantitative research was chosen for this thesis and the technique of a questionnaire and a poll was chosen for data collection. The data obtained was further processed and evaluated using the Microsoft Excel computer program and was subsequently evaluated using PivotTables. The so-called Pearson chi-square goodness-of-fit test was used to statistically test the hypotheses. In addition, charts have been drawn up for individual questions from the questionnaire and poll, which illustrate respondents' answers. The research group for the research investigations were girls and young women from secondary schools and universities of the South Bohemian Region aged from 16 to 26 years. Questionnaires were sent electronically. In total, 555 questionnaires were obtained, of which 440 were used for research. The aim of this study was to map the knowledge of girls and young women in selected secondary schools and universities about the methods of contraception. Three hypotheses have been established. The first hypothesis was to find out if there are differences in knowledge about methods of contraception among students of health and secondary schools and students of other secondary and higher education institutions. This hypothesis has not been confirmed, because there was no difference in knowledge about contraceptive methods between the selected groups. The second hypothesis was used to find out whether university students have a better understanding of contraceptive methods than secondary school students. This hypothesis has been confirmed, for college students have a better understanding of contraceptive methods than high school students. The third hypothesis assumes that college students prefer hormonal contraceptives more than high school students, which has not been confirmed, as according to tables and statistical tests we have found that there were no statistical differences in preference for hormonal contraceptives amongst secondary and university students. From the results of the questionnaire survey it is clear that college students generally have a better knowledge of contraception than high school students, regardless of whether it is a health-related school. It turned out that girls at a younger age tend to choose a hormonal contraceptive method and are not aware of other methods. This work could be used as an educational or informational material for students of secondary schools and universities. An information leaflet, which is the output of this thesis, can serve as information material for high school and university youth.

Context. Meteor spectra are commonly interpreted using data from databases and tables. Several studies have demonstrated very sophisticated calculations of elemental compositions of meteoroid bodies based on the computation of synthetic meteor spectra or on the spectral analysis of airglow plasma containing evaporated, atomized, and ionized meteoroid matter. However, considering accuracy, reliability of computations, lack of laboratory experimental data in this field, as well as the complicated physical structure of meteor plasma, such qualitative assignment or quantitative calculations are still extensively discussed in the scientific community. Even on the laboratory level, many studies have shown the high complexity of the acquisition and interpretation of the data that are recorded with techniques of emission spectroscopy that are in fashion and philosophy similar to the spectral analysis of meteor plasma, that is, detection and quantification of the elements that are ablated from complicated multicomponent matrices. Aims. The current study is focused on the application of terawatt-class laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (TC-LIBS) of real samples of chondritic meteorites. We recorded emission spectra with high resolution and high precision that contain spectral lines that are typical for real meteoric spectra. Experimental data were compiled in a form that is convenient for the meteoric spectra interpretation and calibration. Methods. TC-LIBS was carried out by a high-power terawatt-class laser facility, the Prague Asterix Laser System (PALS). The spectra were simultaneously recorded by an echelle high-resolution spectrograph in the UV/VIS spectral ranges and by a low-resolution spectrograph that was used for real observation of meteor spectra. We also present calculated synthetic spectra based on data from the NIST atomic spectra database. Results. We assembled etalon qualitative tables of major meteoric spectral features that can be used both for the spectral wavelength calibration of low-resolution observational instruments and for the exact interpretation of meteor spectra. The data are compared with real meteor spectra.

The purpose of this article is to summarize some general information about the most common types of cardio-myopathies with an emphasis on a use of cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) in its diagnosis. Although characteristic CMR findings of the cardiomyopathy are generally revealed, the establishing of a clear diagnosis could be difficult. The assessment of structural myocardial abnormalities allows determination of the degree of changes in the myocardium and the prognosis of the disease. The wide range of information about the heart structure and function is feasible to achieve due to advanced techniques of magnetic resonance imaging and the ima-ging is not limited by acoustic windows as it is in case of echocardiography. The role of CMR in diagnostics of the cardiomyopathies tends to be increasingly important, cardiologists increasingly favour this examination and it is consequently becoming a standard part of a diagnostic algorithm.amyloidosis - cardiac magnetic resonance - cardiomyopathy - myocardial hypertrophy.

Community supported agriculture is an alternative food system based on a cooperation between farmers and consumers who socially interact in a community. It was settled in the USA and spread all over the world while changing and evolving its form, although it is a grassroots movement grown from the anthroposofical background in the Europe. A couple of years ago it came to the Czech Republic and now it seeks its own individuality and circumstances which support its livelihood. Which criteria are crucial for thriving CSA in Czech is a key point of this paper.

This diploma thesis called "The analysis of selected choral compositions by Jakub Jan Ryba" deals primarily with his religious works. The introductory chapter briefly describes Ryba's journey to music and the activity of a composer and the text is also based on Ryba's own biography published in 2005 titled My Life and Music. The thesis concerns an extant autographic list of his works dated to 1801 and an autographic fragment of an incipit catalogue of compositions dated from 1774 to 1796 including an incipit of Czech Christmas Mass "Hey, Master!" dated back to 1795. Both lists were compared with two electronic music databases: the catalogue of the department of music history, National Museum - the Czech Museum of Music and the musical incipit catalogue of the National Library of the Czech Republic. The electronic databases were further compared with the thematic catalogue which is a part of the monography titled Jakub Jan Ryba published in 1963. The object of interest was also the quantity of autographs and transcripts and the prints of the works by Jakub Jan Ryba which have been issued from the beginning of the 19th century till present. Regarding the results of the research, it was proved that only a part of Ryba's work has survived up till now since Ryba himself presents 1083 compositions, both...

The thesis is aimed at two different teaching methods, which are compared not only from the viewpoint of their positives and negatives, but also their effectiveness is valuated. One thematic unit from the history curriculum at lower-secondary school is chosen and two different methods are applied, one is based on lecture method, the other one involves project teaching. The effectiveness of the methods is ascertained on the basis of applying these methods in two teaching classes of elementary school. The common thematic unit is Industrial Revolution. According to the number of points every pupil achieves in the didactical test, the class with project teaching turned out better, however the difference was not so prominent. Important is that the effectiveness of both methods cannot be measured based only on number of obtained points. For this reason the author uses another evaluation of methods based on the Bloom's Taxonomy of educational objectives. By analysing the pupil's answers it was ascertained, that the pupils using the project teaching achieved (apart from factual knowledge) also the procedural and conceptual knowledge, which was found in their answer formulations. These pupils have better understood the deeper relationships and the general context of the subject. In the class, where the...

Church music has always been important in particular periods of the development of music, in some of them even determining. The point of this bachelor thesis named Music on the choir loft at the Church of the Advancement of Saint Cross in Starý Rožmitál is to analyze music from the oldest surviving pieces of information until nowadays. The church is dated back to the first third of the 13th century but until the 18th century the information is very fragmentary. However, we can come to a conclusion that the musical development proceeded in similar way as in the other churches because for example the hymnbook "The heavenly nightingale on the branch of life singing praise to his Creator" remained well preserved in two exemplars. In the parish chronicles there are also old records of property, which - besides other things - mention the instrumental equipment of the choir loft. Around 1750, Antonín Platnýř let here constructed the organ that had been damaged twice by the fire; after the fire in 1933, its disposition was changed from baroque to romantic. However, the last reconstruction gave it back the original appearance and registers and brought new precious information, above others the name of well-known organist Martin Paleček. In the middle of the 18th century the teacher Ondřej Poddaný was working...

SEXUAL VIOLENCE IN ARMED CONFLICT - THE ROLE OF THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURTS The purpose of this thesis is to describe the phenomenon of sexual violence against women in armed conflicts and to describe the influence of the international criminal courts in understanding of this phenomenon. Sexual violence appears in almost every armed conflict. Until the establishment of the international criminal courts in the ninetees the issue of sexual violence against women in armed conflict was overlooked. The prohibition of such treatment was existing, for example The Hague Convention or The Geneva Convention, however no efficient sanction mechanism to punish the perpetrators was existing. The violence against woman was moreover understood as her honour attack without any consequences for the community and the society as a whole. It was a private crime. Mass violation of the human rights in the area of Former Yugoslavia and Rwanda made the United Nations to begin with prosecuting and punishing such treatment. Rape and other forms of sexual violence was recognized as a war crime and the crime against humanity on the basis of the judgements of the international criminal courts. Rape can, under certain circumstances, fulfill the fact of the case of genocide. The international criminal courts strongly made...

The diploma is focused on Ethical aspects of nursing care from the perspective of staff providing nursing care in the intensive care units and long-term intensive care units. We were also interested in respondent?s knowledge in the field of ethical principles in biomedicine and their legislation. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part describes nursing care of the mechanically ventilated patients, short history of medical ethics and current status of the ethics in biomedicine. The investigative part was implemented by combination of a quantitative and a qualitative research. For the quantitative part of the investigation we used the method of questioning by a questionnaire. The questionnaire consisted of 20 questions, 10 closed questions, 8 half-opened questions and 2 open questions which offered to show a personal opinion. Questionnaires were anonymous. Respondents that were asked were workers providing nursing care in the intensive care units and long-term intensive care units. The first goal of the diploma was to find out respondents point of view on nursing care in patients on long term mechanical ventilation. The second goal was to find out the most important ethical problems in providing nursing care in this category of patients. The last goal of the diploma was to find out respondents knowledge of codes of ethics and legislation. For the quantitative research we had two hypotheses: 1. There are ethical problems related to providing nursing care in patients on long term mechanical ventilation. This hypothesis was verified, because statistically significant majority of respondents said, that there are ethical problems related to providing nursing care in this category of patients. 2. The nurses´ approach to patients on long term mechanical ventilation is different in the intensive care units and long term intensive care units. This hypothesis was verified, because there were statistically significant differences between answers of respondents providing nursing care in intensive care units and long term intensive care units. For the qualitative research we used the technique of half-structured interview offering open questions. Into the research file was involved 10 nurses, 5 from intensive care units and 5 from long term intensive care units. There were set three investigatory questions. 1. What opinion has respondents about nursing care in patients on long term mechanical ventilation? The investigation showed that nurses have the same attitude to long term ventilated paitents as in the case of patients on acute short term mechanical ventilation. 2. What are the most serious ethical problems related to nursing long term mechanical ventilated patients? The research found out the most serious ethical problems related to long term mechanical ventilation from the point view of a nursing staff. These are preservation of human dignity and prolonging medically futile treatment. 3. What awareness of basic ethical principles and their legislation the respondents have? The investigation showed that nurses have poor knowledge of the issue. The results confirm the current situation of this issue. Based on the results of our research, we prepared educational brochure draft, which could help to facilitate orientation in this field.

Inflammatory gynaecological disorders are one of the most frequent causes of a visit in the gynaecologist?s surgery. Origination of this intimate and unpleasant problem can be attributed to a number of factors. One of them may be the impact of incorrect hygienic habits. Every female adolescent should know how to prevent such disorders. This means to be acquainted with the correct hygiene of the secret parts of the body and the menstrual hygiene, the hygiene of clothing, the protection concerning sexual intercourse, and to be aware of the importance of prophylactic gynaecologic examination. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on inflammatory gynaecological disorders, prevention thereof and education of female adolescents concerning prevention. The practical part focuses on discovering the female adolescents´ knowledge of the correct hygiene and its importance for prevention of inflammatory gynaecological disorders at the selected secondary schools and vocational schools of the Region of South Bohemia. The research data were acquired by means of quantitative survey based on the use of questionnaires. The questionnaire was anonymous and intended for female adolescents of the 15-18 age group. The questionnaires were distributed at Stredni zdravotnicka a vyssi odborna skola (secondary school of nursing and college of nursing) to female students specializing in the field of Medical Assistance, at the Czech-Anglo High School, Soukroma stredni skola a jazykova skola s pravem Statni jazykove zkousky (private secondary school and language school with the right to organize the (Czech) state language examinations) to female students specializing in the field of Hair Stylist and Stredni skola obchodni (secondary school of business) to female students specializing in the field of Shop Assistant. One goal and four hypotheses were set. The goal was to discover the level of knowledge of the correct hygiene and its importance for prevention of inflammatory gynaecological disorders among female students of the selected secondary schools and vocational schools in the Region of South Bohemia. The set goal has been achieved. The only proven hypothesis was No. 2 saying: "The female adolescents know that promiscuity is a risk factor contributing to the occurrence of inflammatory gynaecological disorders". What has not been proven was the hypothesis that female adolescents know the principles of the correct hygiene of the secret parts of the body, the correct menstrual hygiene, and that female students at secondary medical schools have better knowledge in the area of hygiene than female students of the other secondary schools. This bachelor´s thesis could be used as educational and information material intended for secondary as well as college students. The information leaflet, which is the output of the thesis, can serve as information material for female students of secondary schools and secondary vocational schools.

The objective of this diploma paper was to answer the question whether nursing for patients after an operation in spinal anaesthesia has any effects on the occurrence of post-puncture cephalalgia and on the satisfaction of patients with spinal anaesthesia. The paper is divided into two parts: a theoretical one and a practical research one. The theoretical part sums up the current knowledge of spinal anaesthesia; it provides anatomic and physiological aspects, possible complications and the importance of nursing in this type of anaesthesia. It deals with the syndrome of post-puncture cephalalgia in detail, the mechanism of its origin, typical symptoms, its treatment, and the importance of nursing for patients suffering from this syndrome. With regard to the importance of education in nursing jobs, one chapter of the theoretical part deals with education and educational process. The research part consists of qualitative as well as quantitative surveys. The research was carried out with a group of patients who were hospitalized at the surgical and gynaecological departments of Domažlická nemocnice a.s. (Domažlice Hospital Ltd.) and have undergone an operation in spinal anaesthesia. The quantitative survey was done using a questionnaire that contained 27 questions. Seventy-eight patients, selected at random, took part in this research stage. The objective of the qualitative survey was to find out the following: whether patients were aware of the aspects of spinal anaesthesia, whether they have experienced any complications in relation to the administration of spinal anaesthesia, how have they been informed, and what was their overall satisfaction with spinal anaesthesia. The qualitative part involved 10 patients who had been divided randomly into two groups: a group with ``standard{\crqq} education and a group with above-standard education using a purpose-made brochure. A semi-standardized interview, consisting of 18 questions, was carried of with each patient. The patients in the latter group were also asked additional questions aimed at the benefit of the informative brochure and the completeness of the presented information. The former group was asked whether they would be interested in a brochure focusing on spinal anaesthesia. Based on the results of this survey, the basic research question of the paper can be answered. Nursing does have positive effects on the occurrence of complications and on the satisfaction with spinal anaesthesia. A detailed result analysis shows that patients do not feel any subjective need to be educated by a nurse and they are not interested in the brochure. Most of the patients think they are informed sufficiently and they do not want more information. However, the results of the qualitative survey into the group educated by a nurse show a higher informedness about the method, lower occurrence of complications, higher satisfaction, better observance of recommended regimen measures, and highly reduced level of stress in relation to spinal anaesthesia. The educative brochure was accepted by the educated patients as beneficial and useful. Based on the above-listed results, the informative brochure, being an integral part of this paper, will be introduced as a standard education tool for patients undergoing an operation in spinal anaesthesia at Domažlická nemocnice a.s.
