The mechanism and predictive biomarkers of sinonasal inverted papilloma (IP) transformation into squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) are still unclear. We investigated the genetic mutations involved and the predictive biomarkers. Fourteen patients with SCC arising from IP and six patients with IPs without malignant transformation (sIP) were included. DNA was extracted separately from areas of normal tissue, IP, dysplasia, and SCC. Whole exome sequencing and immunohistochemistry was performed. Major oncogenic mutations were observed in the progression from IP to SCC. The most frequently mutated genes were TP53 (39%) and CDKN2A (27%). Mutations in TP53 and/or CDKN2A were observed in three of six IPs with malignant transformation (cIP); none were observed in sIPs. Tumor mutational burden (TMB) increased from IP to SCC (0.64/Mb, 1.11/Mb, and 1.25 for IP, dysplasia, and SCC, respectively). TMB was higher in the cIPs than in the sIPs (0.64/Mb vs 0.3/Mb). Three cIPs showed a diffuse strong or null pattern in p53, and one showed a total loss of p16, a distinct pattern from sIPs. Our result suggests that TP53 and CDKN2A status can be predictive markers of malignant transformation of IP. We develop a model of cheap talk with transparent and monotone motives from a seller to an informed buyer. By transparent and monotone motives, we mean that the seller's preference does not depend on the state of the world and is increasing in the choice(s) of the buyer regardless of the state of the world. We first show that if the buyer is completely uninformed, only the babbling equilibrium exists. Then, we obtain our main result that even if the buyer has the slightest information, full revelation can be supported by using the crosschecking strategy of the buyer if and only if the seller has a CARA (constant absolute risk aversion) utility function unless the buyer has too much information. In this equilibrium, the buyer can punish the seller who sends a message far above the buyer's information by ignoring the seller's message. Paradoxically, no information and too much information of the buyer both eliminate the fully revealing equilibrium with the crosschecking strategy. This paper presents a multiscale progressive fatigue damage model to predict the fatigue life of composite laminates. The multi-level damage model was employed considering the interfacial debonding effect, and effective material properties were calculated through homogenization. Damage variables and damage slopes were defined at the constituent level, and fatigue damage parameters were obtained using the residual stiffness data with the chaotic firefly algorithm. The model was implemented into ABAQUS, then validated with flat-bar and pin-loaded specimens of AS4/3501-6 composite. This study investigates the effect of a high-temperature annealing process on the characteristics and performance of a memristor based on a Ag/Ga2O3/Pt structure. Through X-ray diffraction analysis, successful phase conversion from amorphous Ga2O3 to β-Ga2O3 is confirmed, attributed to an increase in grain size and recrystallization induced by annealing. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis revealed a higher oxygen vacancy in annealed Ga2O3 thin films, which is crucial for conductive filament formation and charge transport in memristors. Films with abundant oxygen vacancies exhibit decreased set voltages and increased capacitance in a low-resistive state, enabling easy capacitance control depending on channel presence. In addition, an excellent memory device with a high on/off ratio can be implemented due to the reduction of leakage current due to recrystallization. Therefore, it is possible to manufacture a thin film suitable for a memristor by increasing the oxygen vacancy in the Ga2O3 film while improving the overall crystallinity through the annealing process. This study highlights the significance of annealing in modulating capacitance and high-resistive/low-resistive state properties of Ga2O3 memristors, contributing to optimizing device design and performance. This study underscores the significance of high-temperature annealing in improving the channel-switching characteristics of Ga2O3-based memristors, which is crucial for the development of low-power, high-efficiency memory device. Cellulose nanofibrils (CNF) were esterified using long-chain fatty acid chlorides (octanoyl chloride, lauroyl chloride, and palmitoyl chloride) and composited with a biodegradable polymer, polybutylene succinate (PBS). The composite material was fabricated into nano-scale fibers and films via electrospinning and electrospraying processes using chloroform as a solvent. The influence of process conditions, CNF type and CNF amount on morphologies were investigated. The diameter of the electrospun fibers was ranged from 648 to 975 nm and fibers with the lowest diameters were produced at 10% concentration, 15 kV voltage and 30 µL/min flow rate. Further, PBS to CNF ratio of 95/5 and CNF esterified with lauryl chloride produced the best results. Electrospraying was achieved at a concentration of 5% or less and the tensile properties of the resulting electrosprayed films were investigated. The highest increase in tensile strength was observed at a PBS to CNF ratio of 99/1, while the most significant enhancement in elastic modulus occurred at the 95/5 ratio. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

For the global-scale multimedia live streaming services, both of the cost-efficiency at the service provider side and the Quality of Experience (QoE) satisfaction at the viewer side need to be achieved. This is a difficult challenge because the request patterns of global live-streaming services are highly dynamic. In this paper, we solve this issue by cloud-based adaptive resource allocation. We first present a cloud-based multi-tier architecture, called MaaS (Media as a Service), which consists of four types of modules. The main issue that we focus on is the deployment of properly dimensioned MaaS modules in proper geographical regions. We take the QoE of the Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP viewers into account for this decision. We propose a combination of deep-learning based demand prediction scheme and a dynamic-programming based heuristic to make a good tradeoff between viewers' QoE and the cloud resource cost. Background: We aimed to compare the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19) in people living with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) (PLWH) with those in people living without HIV (PLWoH). Methods: This nationwide descriptive epidemiological study was conducted in South Korea between January 2020 and February 2022. The National Health Insurance claim data, comprising the data of the entire Korean population, were collected through the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service. Results: Among 3,653,808 individuals who were diagnosed with COVID‐19, 1311 (0.04%) were PLWH. All PLWH received antiretroviral therapy, and 26.47% had more than one underlying disease other than HIV infection. The overall in‐hospital mortality rates of PLWH and PLWoH were 0.76% and 0.25%, respectively (P = 0.002). According to the Cox proportional hazard model, no significant difference was observed in the in‐hospital mortality rate (hazard ratio [HR]: 1.80, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.70–4.67) between the PLWH and PLWoH. However, progression to severe or critical COVID‐19 was more common in PLWH (HR: 2.70, 95% CI: 1.37–5.33). In PLWH diagnosed with COVID‐19, a multivariable Cox regression analysis found old age (≥ 60 years) (HR: 6.9, 95% CI: 2.57–18.56) and diabetes mellitus (HR: 5.13, 95% CI: 2.02–13.00) as the independent risk factors for severe or critical COVID‐19. Conclusions: PLWH had a significantly higher risk of developing severe or critical COVID‐19 compared with PLWoH. • There is a lingering concern regarding the safety of the concomitant vaccinations. • We evaluated the safety of concomitant administration of PPSV-23 and the influenza vaccine. • A cohort study was conducted among individuals aged 65 and older. • Concomitant administration is a safe and effective approach to protect the elderly from pneumonia. The current recommendation for the elderly is to receive both a single dose 23-valent pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (PPSV-23) and an annual inactivated influenza vaccine. There is a lack of post-marketing safety studies on concomitant vaccination using real-world data. We aimed to evaluate the safety of administering PPSV-23 and influenza vaccine concomitantly versus sequentially. We performed a retrospective cohort study using a linked database that combines vaccination registry from the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency and claims data from the National Health Insurance Service. The study population included all those aged over 65 who received PPSV-23 at least once from Jan 1, 2016, to Dec 31, 2020. This study evaluated the 16 prespecified events of interest. Concomitant vaccination was defined as receiving both PPSV-23 and influenza vaccine on the same day. For sequential vaccination, we defined it as receiving influenza vaccination during the period from 30 to 365 days prior to the date of PPSV-23 injection. We performed 1:4 propensity score matching and estimated adjusted incidence rate ratio (aIRR) with a 95 % confidence interval (CI) using conditional Poisson regression. Of the 2,885,144 elderly patients who received PPSV-23 vaccination at least once from Jan 1, 2016, to Dec 31, 2020, a total 87,899 were included in the concomitant vaccination group and 1,200,091 were included in the sequential vaccination group. After adjusting for confounders, the concomitant group exhibited a significantly lower risk of allergic reactions (aIRR: 0.71, 95 % CI: 0.58–0.87), neuritis (aIRR: 0.72, 95 % CI: 0.57–0.91), and pneumonia (aIRR: 0.85, 95 % CI: 0.80–0.90), while demonstrating significantly higher risks of paralysis (aIRR: 1.63, 95 % CI: 1.05–2.52) compared to the sequential group. Concomitant administration of PPSV-23 and influenza vaccine in the elderly was not associated with a higher risk of most prespecified adverse events (AEs) compared to sequential vaccination. Background/Objectives: Lumbar lordotic curvature (LLC), closely associated with low back pain (LBP) when decreased, is infrequently assessed in clinical settings due to the spatiotemporal limitations of radiographic methods. To overcome these constraints, this study used an inertial measurement system to compare the magnitude and maintenance of LLC across various sitting conditions, categorized into three aspects: verbal instructions, chair type, and desk task types. Methods: Twenty-nine healthy participants were instructed to sit for 3 min with two wireless sensors placed on the 12th thoracic vertebra and the 2nd sacral vertebra. The lumbar lordotic angle (LLA) was measured using relative angles for the mediolateral axis and comparisons were made within each sitting category. Results: The maintenance of LLA (LLAdev) was significantly smaller when participants were instructed to sit upright (−3.7 ± 3.9°) compared to that of their habitual sitting posture (−1.2 ± 2.4°) (p = 0.001), while the magnitude of LLA (LLAavg) was significantly larger with an upright sitting posture (p = 0.001). LLAdev was significantly larger when using an office chair (−0.4 ± 1.1°) than when using a stool (−3.2 ± 7.1°) (p = 0.033), and LLAavg was also significantly larger with the office chair (p < 0.001). Among the desk tasks, LLAavg was largest during keyboard tasks (p < 0.001), followed by mouse and writing tasks; LLAdev showed a similar trend without statistical significance (keyboard, −1.2 ± 3.0°; mouse, −1.8 ± 2.2°; writing, −2.9 ± 3.1°) (p = 0.067). Conclusions: Our findings suggest that strategies including the use of an office chair and preference for computer work may help preserve LLC, whereas in the case of cueing, repetition may be necessary. Patients with stroke may develop hyperperfusion after a successful endovascular thrombectomy (EVT). However, the relationship between post-EVT hyperperfusion and clinical outcomes remains unclear and requires further clarification. We reviewed consecutive patients with anterior circulation occlusion who were successfully recanalized with EVT. Based on post-EVT arterial spin-labeling images, hyperperfusion was categorized as follows: global hyperperfusion (GHP), increased cerebral blood flow (CBF) in ≥ 50% of the culprit vessel territory; focal hyperperfusion (FHP), increased CBF in < 50% of the culprit vessel territory; no hyperperfusion (NHP), no discernible CBF increase. Factors associated with hyperperfusion were assessed, and clinical outcomes were compared among patients under different hyperperfusion categories. Among 131 patients, 25 and 40 patients developed GHP and FHP, respectively. Compared to other groups, the GHP group had worse National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score (GHP vs. NHP/FHP, 18.1 ± 7.4 vs. 12.3 ± 6.0; p < 0.001), a larger post-EVT infarct volume (98.9 [42.3–132.7] vs. 13.5 [5.0–34.1] mL; p < 0.001), and a worse 90-day outcome (modified Rankin Scale, 3 [1–4] vs. 2 [0–3]; p = 0.030). GHP was independently associated with infarct volume (B = 0.532, standard error = 0.163, p = 0.001), and infarct volume was a major mediator of the association of GHP with unfavorable outcomes (total effect: β = 0.176, p = 0.034; direct effect: β = 0.045, p = 0.64; indirect effect: β = 0.132, p = 0.017). Various guidelines recommend the first follow-up cystoscopy at 3 months; however, no data exist on the optimal timing for initial follow-up cystoscopy. We tried to provide evidence on the timing of the first cystoscopy after the initial transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TUR-BT) for patients with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) using big data. This was a retrospective National Health Insurance Service database analysis. The following outcomes were considered: recurrence, progression, cancer-specific mortality, and all-cause mortality. Exposure was the time-to-treatment initiation (TTI), a continuous variable representing the time to the first cystoscopy from the first TUR-BT within 1 year. Additionally, we categorized TTI (TTIc) into five levels: < 2, 2–4, 4–6, 6–8, and 8–12 months. A landmark time of 1 year after the initial TUR-BT was described to address immortal-time bias. We identified the optimal time for the first cystoscopy using Cox regression models with and without restricted cubic splines (RCS) for TTI and TTIc, respectively. Among 26,660 patients, 16,880 (63.3%) underwent cystoscopy within 2–4 months. A U-shaped trend of the lowest risks at TTI was observed in the 2–4 months group for progression, cancer-specific mortality, and all-cause mortality. TTI within 0–2 months had a higher risk of progression (aHR 1.36; 95% confidence intervals [CI] 1.15–1.60; p < 0.001) and cancer-specific mortality (aHR 1.29; 95% CI 1.05–1.58; p = 0.010). Similarly, TTI within 8–12 months had a higher risk of progression (aHR 2.09; 95% CI 1.67–2.63; p < 0.001) and cancer-specific mortality (aHR 1.96; 95% CI 1.48–2.60; p < 0.001). Based on the RCS models, the risks of progression, cancer-specific mortality, and all-cause mortality were lowest at TTI of 4 months. The timing of the first cystoscopy follow-up was associated with oncologic prognosis. In our model, undergoing cystoscopy at 4 months has shown the best outcomes in clinical course. This paper provides a comparison between the conventional Electromagnetic Forming (EMF) technique and the novel Electromagnetic Hydraulic Forming (EMHF) approach. The EMHF involves the use of finite element analysis coupled with the EM and arbitrary Lagrangian–Eulerian techniques analyzed through LS-DYNA. In the free-bulge configuration, EMF is influenced by the forming coil, resulting in a dead zone and uneven forming. Additionally, EMF can only be used to shape materials with high electrical conductivity. In contrast, EMHF, driven by induced hydraulic pressure from the electromagnetic field-affected drive sheet, is independent of the electrical conductivity of the material and produces dome-shaped workpieces. For rectangular die shapes, EMF is prone to collision owing to the acceleration of the blank, which results in a reduced quality owing to bouncing. However, EMHF exhibits no bouncing effect and successfully achieves the target shape in most cases. The two techniques differ in the strain rate, with EMF at 4850/s, whereas EMHF operates at approximately 1250/s. Despite being slower, EMHF is still a high-speed forming technique. This study employs the AIDA framework and reception theory to explore the nexus between Netflix content exposure and travel intention. Findings unveil the underlying mechanisms involving exposure to content on Netflix, the appeal of a featured destination, and the behavioural intention to visit. Exposure to negative Netflix content elicits more unfavorable attitudes toward a destination compared to positive content or commercials. Participants' prior overseas travel experiences influence visit intention, emphasizing the impact of past encounters on perceptions of featured destinations. Traumatic brain injuries(TBI) pose significant challenges to human health, specifically neurological disorders and related motor activities. After TBI, the injured neuronal tissue is known for hardly regenerated and recovered to their normal neuron physiology and tissue compositions. For this reason, tissue engineering strategies that promote neuronal regeneration have gained increasing attention. This study explored the development of a novel neural tissue regeneration cryogel by combining brain-derived decellularized extracellular matrix (ECM) with heparin sulfate crosslinking that can perform nerve growth factor (NGF) release ability. Morphological and mechanical characterizations of the cryogels were performed to assess their suitability as a neural regeneration platform. After that, the heparin concnentration dependent effects of varying NGF concentrations on cryogel were investigated for their controlled release and impact on neuronal cell differentiation. The results revealed a direct correlation between the concentration of released NGF and the heparin sulfate ratio in cryogel, indicating that the cryogel can be tailored to carry higher loads of NGF with heparin concentration in cryogel that induced higher neuronal cell differentiation ratio. Furthermore, the study evaluated the NGF loaded cryogels on neuronal cell proliferation and brain tissue regeneration in vivo. The in vivo results suggested that the NGF loaded brain ECM derived cryogel significantly affects the regeneration of brain tissue. Overall, this research contributes to the development of advanced neural tissue engineering strategies and provides valuable insights into the design of regenerative cryogels that can be customized for specific therapeutic applications. Background: Artificial intelligence is being used for rehabilitation, including monitoring exercise compliance through sensor technology. AI classification of shoulder exercise wearing an IMU sensor has only been reported in normal (i.e. painless) subjects. To prove the feasibility of monitoring exercise compliance, we aimed to classify 11 types of shoulder rehabilitation exercises using an AI (artificial intelligence) algorithm in patients with shoulder pain. We had the patients wear an IMU-based sensor, collected data during exercise, and determined the accuracy of exercise classification. Methods: Data were collected from 58 patients (27 males, 31 females, age range 37–82 years) diagnosed with shoulder diseases such as adhesive capsulitis and rotator cuff disease. 11 types of shoulder pain rehabilitation exercise programs were developed and repeated each exercise ten times per session while wearing an IMU sensor. The study applied the Rectified Linear Unit (ReLU) and the SoftMax as the activation function for hidden layers, the output layer. Results: The acquired data was used to train a DNN model using the multilayer perceptron algorithm. The trained model was used to classify 11 types of shoulder pain rehabilitation exercises. The training accuracy was 0.975 and the test accuracy was 0.925. Conclusion: The study demonstrates that IMU sensor data can effectively classify shoulder pain rehabilitation exercises, providing more appropriate feedback for patients. The model can be utilized to establish a system for remotely monitoring patients' exercise performance. In recent years, deep learning techniques have been increasingly utilized to automate and reduce human errors in leukocyte classification. However, reliability and accuracy issues remain a challenge. This paper proposes CAB‐Net, an end‐to‐end deep learning‐based model that integrates a convolutional neural network with an attention mechanism and BLSTM. The model uses a stack of convolutional and pooling layers to extract initial features from input images, which are then fed into the attention block to generate class‐specific discriminative features and BLSTM employed to model deterministic class correlations between highlighted discriminative features and labels. Experimental results show that CAB‐Net outperforms state‐of‐the‐art methods in term of accuracy, precision, recall, F1‐Score, and AUC‐ROC. In addition, the CAB‐Net model demonstrates good performance even with low‐resolution images. This study presents a groundbreaking approach to the ever-evolving challenge of ransomware detection. A lot of detection methods predominantly rely on pinpointing high-entropy blocks, which is a hallmark of the encryption techniques commonly employed in ransomware. These blocks, typically difficult to recover, serve as key indicators of malicious activity. So far, many neutralization techniques have been introduced so that ransomware utilizing standard encryption can effectively bypass these entropy-based detection systems. However, these have limited capabilities or require relatively high computational costs. To address these problems, we introduce a new concept entropy sharing. This method can be seamlessly integrated with every type of cryptographic algorithm and is also composed of lightweight operations, masking the high-entropy blocks undetectable. In addition, the proposed method cannot be easily nullified, contrary to simple encoding methods, without knowing the order of shares. Our findings demonstrate that entropy sharing can effectively bypass entropy-based detection systems. Background & Aim(s): Medication adherence (MA) is a key factor in maintaining adequate blood pressure and preventing complications. However, some older adults experience difficulties in taking medicine properly due to declines in cognitive function. Although subjective memory complaints (SMC) are recognized as early markers of cognitive impairment, previous studies concerning the relationship between MA and cognitive function have focused only on objective cognitive function. Furthermore, while depression has a high correlation with SMC, low MA, and social support, there is limited evidence on their relationship. This study aims to understand the effect of SMC on MA and the mediating effect of depression and social support. Method(s): This study is a descriptive cross-sectional investigation. A sample of 195 community-dwelling hypertensive older adults with multimorbidity from 3 community senior centers in Gwangju, South Korea were recruited through convenience sampling. Data was collected through face-to-face survey from January to March 2018. The PROCESS macro v4.2 program [Model 6] was used to analyze the mediating effect of depression and social support in the relationship between SMC and MA. Data analysis was performed using SPSS/WIN 26.0 and STATA MP 17.0. Results: The average MA was 6.74. There were significant differences in MA according to awareness of prescribed drugs, awareness of side effects, insomnia, and healthcare accessibility. SMC was positively correlated with depression, while social support and MA were negatively correlated. While depression was a significant mediator of the effect of SMC on MA, the mediating effect of social support was not significant. The multiple mediation effect of depression and social support was not significant. Conclusion: The results suggest that medication management of older adults in community settings should be accompanied by a comprehensive health assessment of associated factors. Health professionals should explore strategies to improve memory as well as prevent and alleviate depression to increase MA among hypertensive older adults with multimorbidity. The plasma membrane proteins Rgt2 and Snf3 are glucose sensing receptors (GSRs) that generate an intracellular signal for the induction of gene expression in response to high and low extracellular glucose concentrations, respectively. The GSRs consist of a 12-transmembrane glucose recognition domain and a cytoplasmic C-terminal signaling tail. The GSR tails are dissimilar in length and sequence, but their distinct roles in glucose signal transduction are poorly understood. Here, we show that swapping the tails between Rgt2 and Snf3 does not alter the signaling activity of the GSRs, so long as their tails are phosphorylated in a Yck-dependent manner. Attachment of the GSR tails to Hxt1 converts the transporter into a glucose receptor; however, the tails attached to Hxt1 are not phosphorylated by the Ycks, resulting in only partial signaling. AbstractWith the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence (AI), this study aims to examine the interplay among the perceived usability, perceived enjoyment, perceived responsiveness, and intention to continue using ChatGPT. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to investigate our proposed model. We recruited 446 ChatGPT users through an online survey conducted on the Connect platform, powered by CloudResearch. Perceived usability (β = 0.254) and enjoyment (β = 0.438) significantly influence satisfaction with ChatGPT. However, perceived responsiveness is not significantly related to perceived attachment or satisfaction. Furthermore, we established that perceived attachment (β = 0.405) and satisfaction (β = 0.447) are pivotal in shaping users’ intentions to continue using ChatGPT, providing insights into human–AI interactions. The practical implications of our findings suggest that generative AI chatbots should be crafted with a focus on enjoyable, user-centered interfaces that foster long-term user satisfaction and engagement. Fiber‐type solid‐state supercapacitors (FSSCs) are gaining traction as wearable energy storage devices, given their adaptability akin to traditional fibers. Carbon nanotube fibers (CNTFs) generated via a liquid crystalline (LC) wet‐spinning process demonstrate outstanding electrical conductivity, mechanical strength, and flexibility. However, their intrinsic "defect‐free" sp2 carbon surface restricts immediate FSSC application, limited by lower specific surface area and scant pseudocapacitive sites. This study develops LC‐spun CNTFs with inherent electrochemical activity, eliminating the need for post‐processing or additional active materials, a requirement typically essential in most previous research. This advancement arises from the wet‐spinning of functionalized CNTs from a LC solution with an exceptionally high concentration of 160 mg mL−1, facilitated by the manipulation of the LC phase transition range. The resultant CNTFs exhibit a refined internal structure, yielding an electrical conductivity of 1.9 MS m−1 and a mechanical strength of 0.93 GPa. Simultaneously, they demonstrate inherent electrical energy storage capabilities with a specific capacitance of 139.4 F g−1 and a volumetric capacitance of 192.4 F cm−3 at 0.5 A g−1. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs), with their ubiquitous presence across numerous global industries, pose multifaceted challenges, influencing air pollution and health outcomes. In response, countries such as the United States and Canada have implemented fenceline monitoring systems, enabling real-time tracking of organic solvents, including benzene. Initially, this focus was predominantly placed on the petroleum refining industry, but it has gradually been broadening. This investigation seeks to identify and analyze the specific VOCs produced in the tire manufacturing sector by utilizing both active and passive monitoring methodologies. The findings of the present study aim to recommend prioritized reduction strategies for specific VOCs. Percentage means the ratio of VOCs detected at the research site. At research target facility A, active monitoring demonstrated the presence of Methylene chloride (20.7%) and Carbon tetrachloride (15.3%), whereas passive monitoring identified Carbon tetrachloride (43.4%) and m,p-Xylene (20.8%). After converting these substances to their equivalent concentrations, we found a noteworthy correlation between the active and passive methodologies. At research target facility B, active monitoring detected n-Pentane (45.5%) and Isoprene (11.4%), while passive monitoring revealed Toluene (21.3%) and iso-Hexane (15.8%). Interestingly, even at sites like warehouses and test tracks where VOC concentrations were projected to be low, we observed VOC levels comparable to those in process areas. This underlines the fact that the dispersal of VOCs is considerably influenced by wind direction and speed. Specifically, in the tire manufacturing industry, emissions of Xylene and 3-Methylhexane, both having high photochemical ozone creation potential (POCP), contribute significantly to air pollution. However, the overall detection concentration in the tire manufacturing industry was detected at a low concentration of less than 2 μg/m3. This is less than 9 μg/m3, which is the standard for benzene, which has strong carcinogenicity regulations. Although evidence indicates that certain dietary factors may influence the development of myopia, this relationship is still not completely understood and is a topic of ongoing research. Methods: This study analyzed the relationship between dietary habits, environmental factors, and the prevalence of myopia in a sample of 24,345 children aged 5–12 years from the seventh Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES VII). The average daily intake of dietary nutrients associated with the refractive error status of the participants was analyzed using analysis of variance (GLM) and the Scheffe method for post-hoc comparison. Multiple logistic regression analysis was conducted between the participant's refractive error status and daily dietary nutrient intake, while taking into consideration the age, sex, BMI, parental myopia, and near-work hours. Results: The risk of myopia increased with age, especially notable between ages 11 and 12, and was higher in children with both parents having myopia. Dietary factors played a crucial role; children with myopia had significantly lower intake of fat, omega-3 fatty acids, and retinol but higher intake of other nutrients compared to emmetropic and hyperopic counterparts. High consumption of carbohydrates, protein, phosphorus, iron, potassium, and sodium was associated with increased myopia risk. High sodium intake was particularly associated with a 2.05-fold increased myopia risk. Conclusions: This study highlights the significant role of diet and lifestyle choices in the development of myopia in children. Zigzag strip bundles are combinatorial models realizing the crystals B (∞) and the highest weight crystals B (λ) over quantum affine algebras U q (g) , and they are closely related with Nakajima monomials and Kashiwara embeddings of specific type. In this paper, we introduce new zigzag strip bundles for U q (g) , which we call reverse zigzag strip bundles in order to distinguish from the previous ones, and we give explicit 1-1 correspondences with the set of Nakajima monomials and the image of Kashiwara embedding which are different from those appeared in the study of the zigzag strip bundles. Another main result is to give different points of view about zigzag strip bundles and reverse zigzag strip bundles. Indeed, the previous 1-1 correspondences between the sets of zigzag strip bundles or reverse zigzag strip bundles, and the sets of Nakajima monomials or images of Kashiwara embeddings were determined based on the number of blocks in the columns of these strip bundles. In our work, we use the number of blocks in the rows of zigzag strip bundles and reverse zigzag strip bundles to provide characterizations of Nakajima monomials and images of Kashiwara embeddings that differ from the previous ones. That is, we give characterizations of Nakajima monomials and Kashiwara embeddings of 4 types. Further, we discuss the connection between zigzag strip bundles and reverse zigzag strip bundles. As an escalating global concern for environmentally sustainable marine fuels, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is attracting attention as an eco-friendly and economical alternative. This study explored LPG utilization in small marine vessels, focusing on its eco-friendliness and economic feasibility. To assess its environmental implications, the AVL FIRE simulation program was used to compare CO2, CO, NO, and soot emissions from LPG engines with those from conventional gasoline and diesel engines. The LPG engine model relied on data from a pioneering type-approved experimental LPG engine designed for small South Korean marine vessels, while parameters for gasoline and diesel engines were adjusted to suit their distinctive features. Regarding long-term economic feasibility, assuming a 30-year ship lifespan, incorporating 2022 annual average prices, average annual price growth rates, and annual fuel consumption data of each fuel, results indicate that LPG engines exhibited lower CO2, CO, NO, and soot emissions than conventional engines, except that NO emissions were higher than gasoline engines. Evaluating LPG's economic feasibility over a 30-year ship life cycle for an individual vessel revealed varying fuel cost savings, with the greatest savings observed in gasoline–other (KRW 2220.7 million) and the least in gasoline–coastal (KRW 1152.5 million). These findings offer vital insights for ship operators and policymakers seeking a balance between eco-friendliness and cost-effectiveness, as well as LPG engine technology emerging as pivotal for a sustainable future, harmonizing environmental protection and economic viability. Gait assessment has been used in a wide range of clinical applications, and gait velocity is also a leading predictor of disease and physical functional aspects in older adults. The study aim to examine the changes in IMU-based gait parameters according to age in healthy adults aged 50 and older, to analyze differences between aging patients. A total of 296 healthy adults (65.32 ± 6.74 yrs; 83.10 % female) were recruited. Gait assessment was performed using an IMU sensor-based gait analysis system, and 3D motion information of hip and knee joints was obtained using magnetic sensors. The basic characteristics of the study sample were stratified by age category, and the baseline characteristics between the groups were compared using analysis of variance (ANOVA). Pearson's correlation analysis was used to analyze the relationship between age as the dependent variable and several measures of gait parameters and joint angles as independent variables. The results of this study found that there were significant differences in gait velocity and both terminal double support in the three groups according to age, and statistically significant differences in the three groups in hip joint angle and knee joints angle. In addition, it was found that the gait velocity and knee/hip joint angle changed with age, and the gait velocity and knee/hip joint angle were also different in the elderly and adult groups. This retrospective review of nearly a century of publications in Journalism and Mass Communication Quarterly (JMCQ) traces the maturation of media studies toward a scientific discipline. The field's dominant paradigms—media effects and communicator uses—persist, adapt, and diversify over time, yielding actionable insights. Challenges include (a) bridging older and newer media theories, (b) harnessing data science, and (c) capitalizing on artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML). Future media research can conceptualize evolving three-dimensional interactions among media, people, and AI. We propose seven initiatives for the next century: revisiting classical theories, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, balancing descriptive and prescriptive theorization, nurturing indigenous theorizing, collaborating with industry, reverse theorizing with AI, and exploring and regulating AI's role in media. This study investigated the impact of ChatGPT's recommendation quality and ethical concerns on travelers' acceptance, satisfaction, and perceived trustworthiness. Results showed that when quality and ethical concerns were prominent, acceptance of and satisfaction with ChatGPT's recommendations decreased significantly, and the negative effects were mediated by perceived trustworthiness. This study also identified that message framing containing ChatGPT's errors, and the information types delivered by ChatGPT, acted as moderators of the positive effect of its recommendations. A yeast strain, designated as JAF-11T, was isolated from flower of Prunus mume Sieb. et Zucc. in Gwangyang, Republic of Korea. Phylogenetic analysis showed that strain JAF-11T was closely related to Neodothiora populina CPC 39399T with 2.07 % sequence divergence (12 nucleotide substitutions and three gaps in 581 nucleotides) in the D1/D2 domain of the large subunit (LSU) rRNA gene, and Rhizosphaera macrospora CBS 208.79T with 4.66 % sequence divergence (25 nucleotide substitutions and five gaps in 535 nucleotides) in the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region. Further analysis based on the concatenated sequences of the D1/D2 domain of the LSU rRNA gene and the ITS region confirmed that strain JAF-11T was well-separated from Neodothiora populina CPC 39399T. In addition to the phylogenetic differences, strain JAF-11T was distinguished from its closest species, Neodothiora populina CPC 39399T and Rhizosphaera macrospora CBS 208.79T belonging to the family Dothioraceae by its phenotypic characteristics, such as assimilation of carbon sources. Temporal parameters during swallowing are analyzed for objective and quantitative evaluation of videofluoroscopic swallowing studies (VFSS). Manual analysis by clinicians is time-consuming, complicated and prone to human error during interpretation; therefore, automated analysis using deep learning has been attempted. We aimed to develop a model for the automatic measurement of various temporal parameters of swallowing using deep learning. Overall, 547 VFSS video clips were included. Seven temporal parameters were manually measured by two physiatrists as ground-truth data: oral phase duration, pharyngeal delay time, pharyngeal response time, pharyngeal transit time, laryngeal vestibule closure reaction time, laryngeal vestibule closure duration, and upper esophageal sphincter opening duration. ResNet3D was selected as the base model for the deep learning of temporal parameters. The performances of ResNet3D variants were compared with those of the VGG and I3D models used previously. The average accuracy of the proposed ResNet3D variants was from 0.901 to 0.981. The F1 scores and average precision were 0.794 to 0.941 and 0.714 to 0.899, respectively. Compared to the VGG and I3D models, our model achieved the best results in terms of accuracy, F1 score, and average precision values. The continuous emergence of new severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) variants with multiple spike (S) protein mutations pose serious threats to current coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) therapies. A comprehensive understanding of the structural stability of SARS-CoV-2 variants is vital for the development of effective therapeutic strategies as it can offer valuable insights into their potential impact on viral infectivity. S protein mediates a virus' attachment to host cells by binding to angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) through its receptor-binding domain (RBD), and mutations in this protein can affect its stability and binding affinity. We analyzed S protein structural stability in various Omicron subvariants computationally. Notably, the S protein sequences analyzed in this work were obtained directly from our own sample collection. We evaluated the binding free energy between S protein and ACE2 in several complex forms. Additionally, we measured distances between the RBD of each chain in S protein to analyze conformational changes. Unlike most of the prior studies, we analyzed full-length S protein–ACE2 complexes instead of only RBD–ACE2 complexes. Omicron subvariants including BA.1, BA.2, BA.2.12.1, BA.4/BA.5, BA.2.75, BA.2.75_K147E, BA.4.6 and BA.4.6_N658S showed enhanced stability compared to wild type, potentially due to distinct S protein mutations. Primary cilia are essential cellular antennae that transmit external signals into intracellular responses. These sensory organelles perform crucial tasks in triggering intracellular signaling pathways, including those initiated by G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). Given the involvement of GPCRs in serum-induced signaling, we investigated the contribution of ciliary proteins in mitogen perception and cell proliferation. We found that depletion of cilia via IFT88 silencing impaired cell growth and repressed YAP activation against serum and its mitogenic constituents, namely lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) and sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P). To identify the key player of serum mitogen signaling, a mutant cell line library with 30 ablated individual ciliary proteins was established and screened based on YAP dephosphorylation and target gene induction. While 9 of them had altered signaling, ablation of IFT38 or IFT144 led to a particularly robust repression of YAP activation upon LPA and S1P. The deficiency of IFT38 and IFT144 attenuated cell proliferation, as corroborated in either 2-dimensional cultures or tumor spheroids. In subcutaneous skin melanoma patients, expression of IFT38 and IFT144 was associated with unfavorable outcomes in overall survival. We propose a deep learning-based search strategy for pair production of doubly charged scalars undergoing three-body decays to W + t b ¯ in the same-sign lepton plus multi-jet final state. This process is motivated by composite Higgs models with an underlying fermionic UV theory. We demonstrate that for such busy final states, jet image classification with convolutional neural networks outperforms standard fully connected networks acting on reconstructed kinematic variables. Serotonergic neurotransmission has been associated with aggression in several psychiatric disorders. Human aggression is a continuum of traits, ranging from normal to pathological phenomena. However, the individual differences in serotonergic neurotransmission and their relationships with aggression traits in healthy individuals remain unclear. In this study, we explored the relationship between 5-HT2A receptor availability in vivo and aggression traits in healthy participants. Thirty-three healthy participants underwent 3-Tesla magnetic resonance imaging and positron emission tomography (PET) with [11C]MDL100907, a selective radioligand for 5-HT2A receptors. To quantify 5-HT2A receptor availability, the binding potential (BPND) was derived using the basis function implementation of the simplified reference tissue model, with the cerebellum as the reference region. The participants' aggression levels were assessed using the Buss–Perry Aggression Questionnaire. The voxel-based correlation analysis with age and sex as covariates revealed that the total aggression score was significantly positively correlated with [11C]MDL100907 BPND in the right middle temporal gyrus (MTG) pole, left fusiform gyrus (FUSI), right parahippocampal gyrus, and right hippocampus. The physical aggression subscale score had significant positive correlations with [11C]MDL100907 BPND in the left olfactory cortex, left orbital superior frontal gyrus (SFG), right anterior cingulate and paracingulate gyri, left orbitomedial SFG, left gyrus rectus, left MTG, left inferior temporal gyrus, and left angular gyrus. The verbal aggression subscale score showed significant positive correlations with [11C]MDL100907 BPND in the bilateral SFG, right medial SFG, left FUSI, and right MTG pole. Overall, our findings suggest the possibility of positive correlations between aggression traits and in vivo 5-HT2A receptor availability in healthy individuals. Future research should incorporate multimodal neuroimaging to investigate the downstream effects of 5-HT2A receptor-mediated signaling and integrate molecular and systems-level information in relation to aggression traits. Exome and genome sequencing (ES/GS) in genetic medicine and research leads to discovering genomic secondary findings (SFs) unrelated to the purpose of the primary test. There is a lack of agreement to return the SF results for individuals undergoing the test. The aim of this study is to investigate the frequency of actionable secondary findings using GS data obtained from the rare disease study and the Korean Genome and Epidemiology Study (KoGES) in the National Project of Bio Big Data pilot study. Pathogenic (P) or likely pathogenic (LP) variants of 78 SF genes recommended by the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG) were screened in the rare disease study and KoGES. The pathogenicity of SF gene variants was determined according to the ACMG interpretation. The overall SF rate was 3.75% for 280 individuals with 298 P/LP variants of 41 ACMG SF genes which were identified among 7472 study participants. The frequencies of genes associated with cardiovascular, cancer, and miscellaneous phenotypes were 2.17%, 1.22%, and 0.58%, respectively. The most frequent SF gene was TTN followed by BRCA2. The frequency of actionable SFs among participants with rare disease and general population participants in the Korean population presented here will assist in reporting results of medically actionable SFs in genomic medicine. The use of endoscopic images for the accurate assessment of ulcerative colitis (UC) severity is crucial to determining appropriate treatment. However, experts may interpret these images differently, leading to inconsistent diagnoses. This study aims to address the issue by introducing a standardization method based on deep learning. We collected 254 rectal endoscopic images from 115 patients with UC, and five experts in endoscopic image interpretation assigned classification labels based on the Ulcerative Colitis Endoscopic Index of Severity (UCEIS) scoring system. Interobserver variance analysis of the five experts yielded an intraclass correlation coefficient of 0.8431 for UCEIS scores and a kappa coefficient of 0.4916 when the UCEIS scores were transformed into UC severity measures. To establish a consensus, we created a model that considered only the images and labels on which more than half of the experts agreed. This consensus model achieved an accuracy of 0.94 when tested with 50 images. Pancreatic cancer (PC) is currently recognized as the seventh most prevalent cause of cancer-related mortality among individuals of both genders. It is projected that a significant number of individuals will succumb to this disease in the forthcoming years. Extensive research and validation have been conducted on both gemcitabine and 5-fluorouracil as viable therapeutic options for PC. Nevertheless, despite concerted attempts to enhance treatment outcomes, PC continues to pose significant challenges in terms of achieving effective treatment alone through chemotherapy. Gallic acid, an endogenous chemical present in various botanical preparations, has attracted considerable attention due to its potential as an anticancer agent. The results of the study demonstrated that gallic acid exerted a decline in cell viability that was dependent on its concentration. Furthermore, it efficiently suppressed cell proliferation in PC cells. This study observed a positive correlation between gallic acid and the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Additionally, it confirmed the upregulation of proteins associated with the protein kinase-like endoplasmic reticulum kinase (PERK) pathway, which is one of the pathways involved in endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress. Moreover, the administration of gallic acid resulted in verified alterations in the transmission of mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signals. Notably, an elevation in the levels of p-p38, which represents the phosphorylated state of p38 MAPK was detected. The scavenger of reactive oxygen species (ROS), N-Acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC), has shown inhibitory effects on phosphorylated p38 (p-p38), whereas the p38 inhibitor SB203580 inhibited C/EBP homologous protein (CHOP). In both instances, the levels of PARP have been successfully reinstated. In other words, the study discovered a correlation between endoplasmic reticulum stress and the p38 signaling pathway. Consequently, gallic acid induces the activation of both the p38 pathway and the ER stress pathway through the generation of ROS, ultimately resulting in apoptosis. The outcomes of this study provide compelling evidence to support the notion that gallic acid possesses considerable promise as a viable therapeutic intervention for pancreatic cancer. This study examined the roles of normative and epistemic factors in influencing individuals' reluctance to be vaccinated during the COVID-19 pandemic. Individuals' ethical orientations (IEO; teleology vs. deontology) were introduced as normative characteristics, while COVID-19 vaccine conspiracy beliefs and vaccine knowledge were addressed as issue-specific epistemic factors. We conducted two online surveys to investigate each of these three factors' influences on the level of Americans' reluctance to receive COVID-19 vaccines. Combinations of these factors that predict COVID-19 vaccination hesitancy levels were also explored to provide integrated perspectives in the specific vaccination context. Our findings demonstrated the positive association between IEO and reluctance to receive COVID-19 vaccines. Significant interactions between 1) COVID-19 vaccine conspiracy beliefs and IEO and 2) conspiracy beliefs and vaccine knowledge were also identified. Temporal parameters during swallowing are analyzed for objective and quantitative evaluation of videofluoroscopic swallowing studies (VFSS). Manual analysis by clinicians is time-consuming, complicated and prone to human error during interpretation; therefore, automated analysis using deep learning has been attempted. We aimed to develop a model for the automatic measurement of various temporal parameters of swallowing using deep learning. Overall, 547 VFSS video clips were included. Seven temporal parameters were manually measured by two physiatrists as ground-truth data: oral phase duration, pharyngeal delay time, pharyngeal response time, pharyngeal transit time, laryngeal vestibule closure reaction time, laryngeal vestibule closure duration, and upper esophageal sphincter opening duration. ResNet3D was selected as the base model for the deep learning of temporal parameters. The performances of ResNet3D variants were compared with those of the VGG and I3D models used previously. The average accuracy of the proposed ResNet3D variants was from 0.901 to 0.981. The F1 scores and average precision were 0.794 to 0.941 and 0.714 to 0.899, respectively. Compared to the VGG and I3D models, our model achieved the best results in terms of accuracy, F1 score, and average precision values. Adding a macroscale groove structure to the superhydrophobic surface makes the water droplet to bounce in a petal shape and dramatically reduces the contact time of the water droplet. Most studies on petal bouncing have been conducted on water droplets without considering the effects of viscosity. In this study, the bouncing dynamics of glycerol/water droplets impacting a grooved hydrophobic surface were investigated by changing the viscosity and impact speed of the droplets. As the viscosity of the droplets increased, the Weber number range in which petal bouncing occurred decreased. Petal bouncing was observed in up to 50 wt. % glycerol/water droplets with a viscosity approximately six times that of water. In the low Weber number region (We < 25), as the viscosity of the droplet increased, a sufficient amount of capillary energy was not stored in the fluid penetrating the grooved structure, owing to the viscous dissipation of the fluid. In contrast, in the moderate-Weber-number region (25 < We < 40), the impact energy of the droplet became sufficiently large to overcome the viscous force of the fluid, enabling spreading and retraction along the bottom of the structure. This caused a discrepancy between the time at which the retraction of the fluid above the structure started and the time for the fluid to penetrate and empty the structure, resulting in a transition from petal bouncing to conventional rebound. Introduction: This study aimed to examine the reliability and validity of the Korean version of the Utrecht Grief Rumination Scale (UGRS) among healthcare workers who witnessed patient deaths. We also examined whether grief rumination may impact the cognitive‐behavioral model of hypochondriasis. Methods: This study was conducted via an anonymous online survey targeting healthcare workers who had worked at a tertiary hospital and had witnessed patient deaths over the previous 2 years. Demographic data and responses to the UGRS, the Pandemic Grief Scale (PGS) for healthcare workers, the Stress and Anxiety to Viral Epidemic‐9 (SAVE‐9), the Obsession with COVID‐19 Scale (OCS), and the Coronavirus Reassurance‐Seeking Behaviors Scale (CRBS) were collected by requesting participants to recall their emotional state during the 2 weeks after witnessing a patient's death. Results: The Korean version of the UGRS is reliable (Cronbach's alpha = 0.941) and valid (comparative fit index = 0.920, Tucker–Lewis index = 0.900, root‐mean‐square‐error of approximation = 0.102, standardized root‐mean‐square residual = 0.050) for measuring grief rumination in healthcare workers. The OCS was predicted by CRBS (β = 0.19, p < 0.001), SAVE‐9 (β = 0.45, p < 0.001), UGRS (β = 0.16, p = 0.010), and PGS (β = 0.16, p = 0.010, adjusted R2 = 0.49, F = 52.9, p < 0.001). In mediation analysis, grief rumination directly influenced coronavirus preoccupation; the relationship was mediated by viral anxiety and coronavirus reassurance‐seeking behavior. Inflammatory-related diseases are becoming increasingly prevalent, leading to a growing focus on the development of anti-inflammatory agents, with a particular emphasis on creating novel structural compounds. In this study, we present a highly efficient synthetic method for direct N-arylation to produce a variety of N(2)-arylindazol-3(2H)-ones 3, which exhibit anti-inflammatory activity. The Chan–Evans–Lam (CEL) coupling of N(1)-benzyl-indazol-3-(2H)-ones 1 with arylboronic acids 2 in the presence of a copper complex provided the corresponding N(2)-arylindazol-3(2H)-ones 3 in good-to-excellent yields, as identified with NMR, MS, and X-ray crystallography techniques. The cell viability and anti-inflammatory effects of the synthesized compounds (3 and 5) were briefly assessed using the MTT method and Griess assay. Objectives: Allogeneic hematopoietic stem‐cell transplantation (HCT) is the only curative option for most hematologic malignancies. However, HSCT can cause early menopause and various complications in premenopausal women. Therefore, we aimed to investigate risk factors predicting early menopause and its clinical implications among survivors post HCT. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 30 adult women who had received HCT at premenopausal status between 2015 and 2018. We excluded patients who had received autologous stem cell transplantation, had relapsed, or died of any cause within 2 years of HCT. Results: The median age at HCT was 41.6 years (range, 22–53). Post‐HCT menopause was identified in 90% of myeloablative conditioning (MAC) HCT and 55% of reduced‐intensity conditioning (RIC) HCT (p =.101). In the multivariate analysis, the post‐HCT menopausal risk was 21 times higher in a MAC regimen containing 4 days of busulfan (p =.016) and 9.3 times higher in RIC regimens containing 2–3 days of busulfan (p =.033) than that of non‐busulfan‐based conditioning regimens. Conclusions: Higher busulfan dose in conditioning regimens is the most significant risk factor affecting post‐HCT early menopause. On June 24, 2022, the US Supreme Court decided in Dobbs vs. Jackson Women's Health Organization (597 U.S. (2022)) to overturn the constitutional right to abortion, a seismic shift in abortion policy that makes the states key battlegrounds in fights over abortion and broader reproductive rights. This article focuses on the role of state supreme courts in setting state abortion policies. Using an original data set of state court decisions surrounding abortion from the past 20 years, the authors investigate how two overarching factors affect state supreme court decision-making on abortion. First, they track how states' political environments affect the decisions courts make about access to abortion. Second, the authors consider the scope of the abortion policy considered by the courts. The authors find that the partisan makeup of state legislatures does not influence the direction of state supreme courts' rulings on abortion issues, but it does affect the scope of abortion regulation being considered by the courts. Additionally, they find that elected judges tend to be more responsive to constituent preferences when ruling on abortion policies. This study investigates the specific pathways through which mindfulness influences task performance, focusing on the sequential mediating roles of psychological resilience, customer-oriented behavior, and deep acting. Structural equation modeling is used to analyze data collected from 359 employees in the service industry in Korea. The results confirm that mindfulness has a significant direct and indirect relationship with task performance. Improved resilience through mindfulness can be the basis for fostering customer-oriented behavior and deep acting, which sequentially enhance task performance. This study provides a comprehensive understanding of how mindfulness leads to improvements in task performance and highlights the significance of mindfulness for both customers and service employees. It also expands the existing knowledge of mindfulness by empirically integrating resilience, customer-oriented behavior, and deep acting, which have not been extensively studied in mindfulness research.
