Beynin nondominant hemisferinin görsel-uzaysal ve en üst düzey, betimleyici lisan fonksiyonlarında belirleyici rolü olduğu bilinmektedir. Bu çalışma ile günlük hayatta sık sık karşımıza çıkan deyimler ve simgesel şekillerin anlaşılmasında serebral hemisferik organizasyon açısından korelasyon var mı sorusuna cevap aranmıştır. Çalışmamız, prospektif bir vaka-kontrol çalışması şeklinde düzenlenmiş olup nondominant hemisfer infaktlı 31 hasta ve demografik açıdan bunlarla eşlenmiş 31 kontrol deneğini kapsamaktadır. Çalışmamızda sağ hemisfer hasarında gerek deyim, gerekse simgeleri tanımada sorun olduğu ve bunların birbiri ile korelasyon gösterdiği saptanmıştır. Deyimleri anlama konusunda literatürde çalışma sayısı oldukça fazla olmasına karşın, simge tanıma konusundaki çalışma sayısı çok daha azdır; deyim ve simge tanımanın korelasyonunu araştıran bir çalışmaya ise rastlanmamıştır. Çalışmamız, bu korelasyonu araştıran ilk çalışmadır. Ülkemizde ise ne simgesel şekil tanıma, ne de deyim anlama ile ilgili bir hastalar üzerinde yapılmış bir çalışma ve bu işlevleri değerlendirmede kullanılabilecek bir test bulunmamaktadır. Çalışmamız, bu konuda yapılmış ilk Türkçe çalışma olup bir Türkçe test bataryasının da ön çalışması niteliğindedir. Anahtar kelimeler: Nondominant hemisfer, lisan, deyim, simge, emoji It is known that nondominant cerebral hemispher has a unique role in visual-spatial functions and nonliteral language processes. In this study, we try to answer the question if there is any corellation in cerebral hemispheric organisation of idiom and icon recognition. The sudy is designed as a prospective case-control study, including 31 patients with nondominant hemisphere infact and demographically matched 31 healthy controls. We found that in nondominant hemsphere infarcts, there are deficits in understanding of both the verbal idioms and the visual symbols and there is a positive correlation between them. In medical literatüre, although there are substantial number of research about understanding of idioms, the studies about icon recognition is limited and we are not aware of any research about the correlation of the understanding of the idioms and visual symbols. This sudy, to our knowledge, is the first one that looks at this correlation. We also are not aware of any study on patient population in Turkish that focuses on understanding of either the idioms or the icons and Turkish tests to evaluate these functions are not available. Giriş: İnme ölüm ve özürlülük nedenlerinin başlarında yer alır. İnme hastalarının %30'u bir yıl içinde ölmekte, yaşayanların üçte biri de günlük işlerinde başkalarının yardımına muhtaç olarak yaşamlarını sürdürmektedirler. İnme hastalarında meydana gelen nörolojik defisit ve özürlülüğün yanı sıra; kognitif, ruhsal ve sosyal değişiklikler hasta için yıkıcı olabilmekte ve hayat kalitesini önemli oranda etkilemektedir. Toplumların yaşlanması ile birlikte daha sık görülen inme ve inmeye bağlı problemler önemli bir küresel yük oluşturmaktadır. İnme hastalarının günlük aktivitelerinde ve sosyal çevrelerinde yaşadıkları sorunları anlamak ve bu yönden destek olmak, yaşam kalitelerini artırmak için önemlidir. Bu nedenle son yıllarda inme sonrası yaşam kalitesi ile ilişkili faktörler ve yaşam kalitesinin artırılmasına yönelik çalışmalar önem kazanmıştır. Yaşam kalitesini değerlendiren ölçeklerde genel olarak sağlığın fiziksel, fonksiyonel, psikolojik ve sosyal boyutunun değerlendirilmesi dört önemli nokta olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. İnmede sağlıkla ilişkili yaşam kalitesini değerlendiren genel ölçekler olmakla birlikte, son zamanlarda geliştirilen hastalığa özgül ölçekler fonksiyonel durumu ve iyi olma halini daha iyi değerlendirmekte ve kişinin hayat kalitesine dair daha tutarlı bilgiler sunmaktadır. Bu bilgiler inme sonrası tedavi yaklaşımlarını değiştirebilir.Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, inmede özürlülük durumunu değerlendiren özgül fonksiyonel ölçekler aracılığıyla yaş, cinsiyet, inme alt tipi, inme şiddeti, alınan tedavi, lezyon lokalizasyonu ve lateralizasyon gibi inme özelliklerinin yanı sıra; kognitif etkilenme, depresyon varlığı, sosyokültürel ve ekonomik faktörlerin yaşam kalitesi üzerindeki etkilerini belirlemektir.Gereç ve Yöntem: Bu çalışmaya 102 inme hastası dahil edilmiştir. Hastalar inmeyi takiben üçüncü ve altıncı aylar arasında değerlendirmeye alınmıştır. Hastaların ayrıntılı demografik verileri ve inme özellikleri kayıt edilmiştir. Çalışmada inme şiddetini belirlemek için National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), dizabilite düzeyi için Modifiye Rankin Skalası (MRS), kognitif durumu değerlendirmek için Mini Mental Durum Testi (MMDT), depresyon varlığını ortaya koymak için Beck Depresyon Ölçeği (BDÖ) ve yaşam kalitesini değerlendirmek için 'İnmeye Özgül Yaşam Kalitesi Ölçeği' (Stroke Specific Quality of Life Scale_SSQOL) kullanılmıştır. Verilerin istatiksel analizi SPSS 15.0 programı ile yapılmıştır.Bulgular: Şiddetli inme, depresyon varlığı, ileri yaş ve kadın cinsiyet, kötü yaşam kalitesinin en önemli belirleyicileri olarak saptanmışlardır. Kötü yaşam kalitesi ile ilişkili diğer faktörler ise; bozulmuş kognitif durum, antikoagülan tedavi kullanımı, düşük eğitim düzeyi ve yalnız yaşamaktır. İnme tipi (hemorajik ya da iskemik), iskemik inme alt tipi, inme lateralizasyonu ve trombolitik tedavi, hayat kalitesi üzerine bir etkide bulunmamıştır.Sonuç: İnme tipinin (hemorajik ve iskemik), iskemik inme alttipinin (TOAST sınıflamasına göre) ve kullanılan tedavilerin yaşam kalitesi üzerine etkisini araştıran çok az sayıda çalışma mevcuttur. Önceki çalışmaların çoğunda bildirildiği gibi bizim çalışmamızda da inme hastalarının erken dönem hayat kalitesini etkileyen en önemli faktörler; inme şiddeti, yaş, cinsiyet, depresyon varlığı, eğitim düzeyi, kognitif durum ve yalnız yaşamaktır. Çalışmamız diğer çalışmalardan farklı olarak inme tedavisinin de yaşam kalitesi için belirleyici bir faktör olduğunu göstermiştir. Çalışmamızda antikoagülan tedavi kullanımının yaşam kalitesi üzerine olumsuz etkisi olduğu bulunmuştur. Çalışmamızda inme alt tipleri ve trombolitik tedavi alanlar ile almayanlar arasında yaşam kalitesi açısından farklılık bulunmamıştır. Sonuç olarak, bu çalışma ile inme rehabilitasyonunda hastaların yaşam kalitesini olumsuz etkileyen faktörlerin göz önünde bulundurulması ve bunlara çözüm aranmasının önemi ortaya çıkmıştır.Anahtar sözcükler: Depresyon, özürlülük, sağlıkla ilişkili yaşam kalitesi, inmeden sonra yaşam kalitesi, inme, inme sonuçları Background: Stroke is one of the major cause of death and disability. Thirty percent of stroke subjects die within a year of cerebrovascular event and one third of survivors become dependent in daily living activities. The neurological deficits and disabilities along with cognitive, psychiatric and social changes can be destructive for the subjects and affect the life quality deeply. As the population is aging, stroke and related problems increase the global burden. Understanding the problems in daily activities and social environment of stroke patients and supporting them in this respect is important to improve their quality of life. Therefore, in recent years determining the factors associated with quality of life after the stroke and related studies has gained importance for improving quality of life. The most important items that assess the general quality of life include physical, functional, psychological and social dimension of health. Even though there are generic scales for assessing health-related quality of life in stroke, recently developed specific scales assess functional status and well-being beter and offer consistent information on the person's quality of life. This knowledge can modify the approach in poststroke period.Purpose: The present study aims to investigate the effects of stroke features such as, age, gender, stroke type, ischemic stroke subtype, stroke severity, therapy, lesion localization and lateralization; cognitive involvement; presence of depression; socio-cultural or economic factors, on stroke related quality of life by utilizing stroke specific quality of life scales.Materherials and metod: A total of 102 stroke subjects were included in the study. Subjects were evaluated in between the 3 to 6 months poststroke period. The demographical and stroke features were recorded. In the study; severity of stroke was assessed by National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS). Modified Rankin Scale (MRS) was used to determine disability levels, and cognitive status was evaluated by the Mini Mental State Test (MMST). Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) was used to reveal the presence of depression and to assess quality of life, Stroke Specific Quality of Life Scale (SSQOL) was used. The statistical analysis was performed with SPSS 15.0.Results: Severe stroke, presence of depression, advanced age and female gender are major determinants of decreased quality of life. Other factors can be listed as impaired cognition, use of anticoagulant drugs, lower education level and living alone. The type of stroke (hemorrhagic or ischemic), the subtypes of ischemic stroke, lateralization of stroke, and thrombolytic therapy do not affect the quality of life.Consclusion: There is a few studies investigating the stroke types (hemorrhagic or ischemic), subtypes of ischemic stroke (according to TOAST criteria) and stroke treatment impact on the quality of life. As the previous studies suggest, the major factors that affect the quality of life in early poststroke period include the severity of stroke, age, gender, the presence of depression, education level, cognitive status and living alone. Unlike other studies, our study supports that the treatment of stroke is also a determining factor for quality of life. Use of anticoagulant therapy affects the quality of life in negative way. In the present study, no difference was found between stroke subtypes and there was no effect of thrombolytic treatment on quality of life. Amaç: Çalışmamızın amacı ergoterapi bölümü hakkında bilgilendirme yapmak. Gereç ve yöntem: Hacettepe Üniversitesi Ergoterapide İletişim ve Görüşme Teknikleri dersi kapsamında planlandı. İlk olarak bilgilendirme yapmak için kullanılabilecek en iyi iletişim yolunun ne olacağı konusunda tartışma yapıldı. Tartışma sonunda sosyal medyadan facebook’un en iyi yöntem olduğuna karar verildi. Daha sonra facebook’ta bir grup açıldı. Bölüm tanıtımıyla ilgili görev paylaşımı yapıldı. Hacettepe üniversitesi ergoterapi bölümü çalışma alanlarının fotoğrafı çekildi ve buraya başvuran hasta ve hasta yakınlarıyla konuşularak onların görüşleri alındı. Bölümümüzün hocalarından Meral Huri ile ergoterapi hakkında röportaj yapıldı. Ergoterapist adaylarının mesleki alanda beklentileri ve bölüm hakkındaki görüşleri alındı. Aynı zamanda internetten de bölüm hakkında araştırmalar yapıldı ve görseller edinildi. Bütün edinilen veriler facebook’ta açılan gruba yüklendi ve üyeler için paylaşıma açıldı. Sonuçlar: Grupta yapılan paylaşımlar ve bilgilendirmelerle ilgili geri dönüşler alındı. Üyelerin genelinin üniversite hazırlık bölümünden olduğu görüldü. Üyelerin paylaşımlar ile ergoterapi konusunda daha ayrıntılı bilgi sahibi oldukları tespit edildi. Tartışma: Sosyal medya ile hem kitlesel farkındalık yaratıldı hem de kısa sürede binden fazla kişiye ulaşıldı. Fakat daha geniş kitlelere ulaşmak asıl hedefimiz olduğu düşünüldüğünde grubun daha da genişletilmesi hedeflendi. Facebook üzerinden kurulan grup farklı toplumların farklı kesimlerine ulaşabildi. Fakat ergoterapi mesleğinin Türkiye’de yeni bir meslek olduğu düşünüldüğünde ulaştığımız kitlenin sayısının yetersiz olduğu ve başka yöntemlerle ergoterapi mesleğinin daha ayrıntılı tanıtımı yapılması gerektiğini düşünmekteyiz, Purpose: The aim of this study is to introduce the occupational therapy department. Materials and Method: The study was planned within Communication and Interview Techniques in Occupation Therapy Course at Hacettepe University. First, what would be the best communication way to introduce the department was discussed. At the end of the discussion, it was decided that using Facebook was the best method. Then, a group was created on Facebook. Tasks for introducing the department were distributed. Hacettepe University Department of Occupational Therapy work areas were photographed and opinions were asked of the patients and their relatives, who had come to the department. An interview was done with Meral Huri, one of the instructors of the department. Opinions of occupational therapy candidates were asked about their professional expectations and views about the department. At the same time, research was done about the department and visuals were found online. All data was uploaded to Facebook and was made available to be shared by group members. Results: Feedback was received with the discussions made among groups and opinions taken. It was seen that majority of the members were from the Preparation Class. It was observed that members improved their knowledge about Occupational Therapy after the study. conclusion: Awareness was created using the social media, and more than a thousand people were reached in a short period of time. However, it was decided to to enlarge the group considering that the real goal is to reach a wider audience. With the group we created in Facebook, we could reach different segments of the society. Nonetheless, considering that Occupational Therapy is a new occupation, it was resulted that the number of people we reached was insufficient, and the occupation should be advertised more using other methods

Türkiye, Avrupa Birliği'ne uyum sürecinde insan hakları ve demokratikleşme alanında önemli adımlar atmıştır. Özellikle ceza hukuku alanında gerçekleştirilen refomlar ile temel hak ve hürriyetleri güvence altına alan düzenlemeler yapılmıştır. Human rights are rights to all human beings, whatever our nationality, place of residence, sex, national or ethnic origin, religion or any other status. Because of this principle, human rights are no more concern of a nation's law system, but become an international concept. The best regime that protects human rights is democracy and democracy as a system of government protects fundamental freedoms of individuals.European Union accepts democracy and human rights as the fundamental rights and gives priority to protecting these values by preparing and establishing agreements. European Union sets out the conditions of redesigning the institutions for guaranteeing democracy, the rule of law and human rights for candidate countries to EU accession and the Union does not start the pre-accession process with the candidate countries that do not meet these constitutional requirements.Turkey-EU relations were initiated in the framework of the association regime based on Ankara Agreement which was signed with the European Economic Community on 12 September 1963 and gained speed by being recognized as a Candidate Country in Helsinki Summit. The Council decided to open accession negotiations with Turkey on 3 October 2005 in Luxemburg Summit and this process is still ongoing and The Council annually declared Progress Report for Turkey. In adaptation process, Turkey has made great improvements in terms of human rights and democracy. Especially the newly reforms in criminal laws have supported the required regulations that guarantee human rights and democracy.
