Background Laser therapy is used as a noninvasive treatment for musculoskeletal diseases, including shoulder pain, but its efficacy in shoulder impingement syndrome remains controversial. This study aimed to systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of laser therapy in shoulder impingement syndrome. Methods The PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases were searched from its establishment to June 2021. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) in shoulder impingement syndrome were included. The primary outcome was pain, and the secondary outcomes were function and range of motion. Meta-analysis was performed with RevMan 5.3. Results A total of 12 RCTs and 669 participants were included. The results showed that laser therapy exhibited significant efficacy in shoulder impingement syndrome, especially in terms of pain release (MD=1.26, 95% CI=0.55–1.97, P=0.0005) and range of motion (MD=4.27, 95% CI=1.93–6.61, P=0.0003). However, the effect of shoulder function was uncertain (SMD=0.43, 95% CI=0–0.85, P=0.05). The subgroup analysis of pain showed that the efficacy of the laser therapy was related to the wavelength of the laser and the number of combined treatments. No adverse events were reported in the included trials. Conclusions Laser therapy can significantly relieve pain in shoulder impingement syndrome and has no adverse reactions.

Rechargeable aqueous zinc-ion batteries possess the merits of good environmental benignity, high operational safety and high energy density. Nevertheless, the practical application of zinc-ion batteries is severely obstructed by the inhomogeneous deposition of metallic Zn on the anode, which results in serious capacity fading, poor coulombic efficiency, and electrolyte consumption. Herein, we propose a simple strategy of constructing a functional nitrogen-doped carbon network coating layer on zinc foil for dendrite-free Zn stripping/plating. On one hand, the good conductivity of the artificial Zn/electrolyte interface can quickly balance the electric field and lower the nucleation overpotential. On the other hand, the porosity feature and functional groups of the protective layer can provide a fast Zn2+ transportation pathway and generate well-dispersed nucleation seeds. Therefore, the protective layer can effectively hamper the growth of metallic Zn dendrites and resist side reactions. The as-prepared N-C/Zn anode displays superior cycling stability (800 h at 2 mA cm-2 with the capacity of 2 mA h cm-2) and a satisfactory coulombic efficiency of 98.76% during the Zn stripping/plating process. A long cycle life and high specific capacity (162.10 mA h g-1 after 500 cycles at 2.0 A g-1) are also obtained for N-C/Zn||ZnSO4||V2O5 full cells. The strategy provides a facile and effective opportunity for constructing high-performance rechargeable aqueous zinc-ion batteries.

Here, we report the first example of the utilization of p-nitro-tetradecyloxy-calix[4]arene (C4A-NO2) as a stationary phase for capillary gas chromatographic (GC) separations. The statically coated C4A-NO2 column exhibited a high column efficiency of 3815 plates per m and moderate polarity. The C4A-NO2 column was investigated for its separation performance and retention behaviours by utilizing a wide variety of isomer mixtures, covering alkylated benzenes and naphthalenes, alkenes, furans, alcohols, benzaldehydes, phenols and halogenated anilines. Importantly, the C4A-NO2 column exhibited high resolving capability for both aliphatic and aromatic isomers. Particularly, it displayed advantageous resolving capability over the commercial DB-17 column for halogenated aniline isomers. This work provides a good reference for designing calixarene derivatives as GC stationary phases, which is important for developing a family of stationary phases with specific selectivity.

This work presents the first example of the utilization of p-tert-butyl(tetradecyloxy)calix[6]arene (C6A-C10) as a stationary phase for capillary gas chromatographic (GC) separation. The statically coated C6A-C10 column showed a column efficiency of 3293 plates per m and had a nonpolar nature. Its selectivity and retention behaviour were investigated using a number of mixtures of diverse analytes and their isomers. As a result, the C6A-C10 column exhibited high resolving capability for aliphatic and aromatic analytes from apolar to polar nature, especially for positional, structural and cis-/trans-isomers. Moreover, the C6A-C10 column showed thermal stability up to 240 °C. In addition, it was applied for the determination of isomer impurities in real samples, proving its good potential for practical GC analysis.

Carbonated beverages are widely enjoyed in spare time, yet there remain many physical and chemical processes clouded at the molecular level. In this report, we employ molecular dynamics simulations to estimate the diffusion coefficients of CO2 and the molecular origin of its variations in three model systems with characteristic features of champagnes, sugar-based cola drinks, and club sodas. The computed diffusion coefficients of CO2 are in good agreement with experimental data. Analyses of hydrogen bonding and the solvent's structural and dynamic properties reveal that the change of CO2 diffusion coefficient is closely associated with the diffusional behavior of the solvent water itself, as a result of changes in the number and strength of hydrogen bonding interactions among the species and solvent.

Its selectivity and retention behaviour were investigated by a number of mixtures of diverse analytes and their isomers. It was found that the C8A-NO2 column exhibited high resolving capability for aliphatic and aromatic analytes from apolar to polar nature, especially for positional and structural isomers. Among them, advantageous resolving capability over the commercial polysiloxane DB-1701 and DB-17 columns was obtained for chloroaniline and bromoaniline isomers. In addition, the C8A-NO2 column was applied for the determination of isomer impurities in commercial reagents of geraniol, cis-decahydronaphthalene, and trans-decahydronaphthalene.

This paper proposes a performance model for general matrix multiplication (GEMM) on decoupled access/execute (DAE) architecture platforms, in order to guide improvements of the GEMM performance in the Godson-3B1500. This model focuses on the features of access processors (APs) and execute processors (EPs). To reduce the synchronization overhead between APs and EPs, a synchronization module selection mechanism (SMSM) is presented. Furthermore, two optimized algorithms of GEMM for DAE platforms based on the performance model are proposed for ideal performance. In the proposed algorithms, the kernel functions are optimized with single instruction multiple data (SIMD) vector instructions, and the overhead of AP is almost overlapped with EP by taking full advantage of the features of the architecture. Moreover, the synchronization overhead can be reduced according to the SMSM. In the end, the proposed algorithms are tested on the Godson-3B1500. The experimental results demonstrate that the computing performance of dGEMM reaches 91.9% of the theoretical peak performance and that zGEMM can reach 93% of the theoretical peak performance.

In this paper, the performance research on CPython's latest interpreter is presented, concluding that bytecode dispatching takes about 25 percent of total execution time on average. Based on this observation, a novel bytecode dispatching mechanism is proposed to reduce the time spent on this phase to a minimum. With this mechanism, the blocks associated with each kind of bytecodes are rewritten in hand-tuned assembly, their opcodes are renumbered, and their memory spaces are rescheduled. With these preparations, this new bytecode dispatching mechanism replaces the time-consuming memory reading operations with rapid operations on registers. This mechanism is implemented in CPython-3.3.0. Experiments on lots of benchmarks demonstrate its correctness and efficiency. The comparison between original CPython and optimized CPython shows that this new mechanism achieves about 8.5 percent performance improvement on average. For some particular benchmarks, the maximum improvement is up to 18 percentages.

This paper proposes a fault tolerant scheme on Network-on-Chip-based System-on- Chip (NoC-based SoC), for problems of Isolated Processing Element (PE) and Parted Regions caused by permanent faults. The scheme is referred to as Router-Shared-Pair mesh (RSPmesh). The topology architecture of the RSPmesh uses the design that a pair of neighbouring PEs share a pair of routers, and uses MUXs to provide diversity for link-connections between routers. Topology reconfiguration algorithm and routing algorithm corresponding to the RSPmesh are also proposed. Thus, when there are faulty routers or links, RSPmesh-based NoC can be reconfigured to a new 2D mesh NoC with maybe smaller size, but regular and with no faults, and it is able to serve all healthy PEs. The RSPmesh uses no spare routers, and only makes several routers disable according to actual needs in topology reconfiguration. Evaluation and experimental results show that the proposed scheme achieves significant improvements on reliability.
