A polarization independent conformal wideband metamaterial absorber has been proposed in this study. The proposed absorber unit cell consists of a circle and a slotted sector, loaded with four lumped resistors between them to improve the absorption bandwidth. Measured and simulated results exhibit more than 90% absorption in the frequency band from 3.90 GHz to 10.5 GHz under the normal incidence angle, and the fractional bandwidth is 91.6%. The proposed absorber is polarization independent due to the symmetrical nature. The absorber unit cell is compact in configuration with a unit cell size of 0.16 λo × 0.16 λo, where λo is the wavelength at 3.9 GHz and the substrate thickness is 0.098 λo. Once the proposed absorber is wrapped on the cylindrical surface, it shows good absorptivity in the absorption frequency band. The effects of many designed parameters have been studied to understand the performance of the wideband absorber. To recognize the absorption phenomenon of the absorber, normalized impedance, electric field distribution, and surface current density have been demonstrated. Finally, the proposed conformal absorber fabricated and measured the absorption for flat and curved surfaces, which exhibits good agreement between the simulated and the experimental results. In this study, a resistor-loaded wideband conformal metamaterial absorber has been designed, fabricate, and analyzed experimentally. The proposed absorber consists of lumped resistors loaded on cross-shaped resonators at the top side of the flexible substrate and copper metal film separated by flexible foam on the substrate's backside. The total thickness of the absorber is 0.07λ o , where λ o is the lowest absorption frequency. The simulated results exhibited absorption from 3.25 − 13.6 GHz (absorption bandwidth 123%). The wideband absorption mechanism of the absorber was analyzed through the equivalent circuit model and parametric study. The designed structure has been tested on the planar and curved surfaces and measured the results. The simulated and experimental results have good agreement between them. A triple-band polarization-independent conformal absorber for C- and X-frequency bands have been presented. The designed absorber comprises a Jerusalem cross resonator at the center, surrounded by a quarter part of a square rings resonator with different sizes at each corner on a metal grounded dielectric substrate. The unit cell size is 0.23λ o × 0.23λ o and thickness of λ o /153 at frequency 6.16 GHz. The absorption peaks were obtained at frequencies 6.16 GHz, 9.22 GHz, and 11.6 GHz with absorptivity 95%, 96%, and 97%, respectively. It exhibited full wave at half maximum (FWHM) bandwidths of 160 MHz bands (6.04 GHz–6.20 GHz, 240 MHz (9.09 GHz–9.33 GHz), and 260 MHz (11.57 GHz−11.83 GHz), respectively. The designed absorber is shown four-fold symmetry, which makes it polarization independent. Normalized impedance and surface current distributions for all three absorption frequencies are analyzed for understanding the absorption phenomenon. The designed absorber has been tested for the curved surfaces with different central angles to show its conformal behavior, and it is perceived that measured results and simulated results have good agreement between them. This work explains the design and analysis of a triple‐band electrically small (ka = 0.56 < 1) zeroth‐order resonating (ZOR) antenna with wideband circular polarization (CP) characteristics. The antenna compactness is obtained due to ZOR frequency of composite right/left‐handed (CRLH) transmission line (TL) and wideband CP radiation are achieved due to the introduction of single‐split ring resonator and asymmetric coplanar waveguide fed ground plane. The proposed antenna obtains an overall electrical size including the ground plane of 0.124 λ0 × 0.131 λ0 × 0.005 λ0 at 1.58 GHz and physical dimension of 23.7 × 25 × 1 mm3 are achieved. The antenna provides a size reduction of 44.95% compared to a conventional monopole antenna. The novelty behind the ohm‐shaped capacitor is the generation of extra miniaturization with better antenna compactness. The antenna provides dual‐polarized radiation pattern with linear polarization radiation at 1.58 and 3.54 GHz, wideband CP radiation at 5.8 GHz. The antenna measured results shows good impedance bandwidth of 5%, 6.21%, and 57.5% for the three bands centered at 1.58, 3.54, and 5.8 GHz with a wider axial ratio bandwidth (ARBW) of 25.47% is obtained in the third band. The antenna provides a higher level of compactness, wider ARBW, good radiation efficiency, and wider S11 bandwidth. Hence, the proposed antenna is suitable for use in GPS L1 band (1.565‐1.585 GHz), WiMAX 3.5 GHz (3.4‐3.8 GHz) GHz, WLAN 5.2/5.8 GHz (5.15‐5.825 GHz), and C‐band (4‐8 GHz) wireless application systems. A compact, ultrathin conformal metamaterial dual‐band absorber for curved surfaces has been presented in this article. The absorber unit cell composed of circular and split ring resonators which are connected with plus‐shaped structure. The proposed absorber unit cell is compact in size (0.22λo × 0.22λo) and as well as ultrathin thickness (0.006λo), where λo is the wavelength at 5.8 GHz. The designed absorber gives two absorption tips at 5.8 and 7.7 GHz with more than 90% absorptivity. The full width at half maximum bandwidths are 220 MHz (5.67‐5.89 GHz) and 250 MHz (7.58‐7.83 GHz). The proposed conformal absorber is sensitive to the polarization angle and has a stable absorptivity over a wide range of incident electromagnetic wave. The parametric analysis and equivalent transmission line model have been investigated. The surface current and electric field distribution also discussed for understanding the absorption mechanism. To analyze the performance of proposed absorber on the curved surfaces, it is wrapped on the different radius of cylindrical surface and measured the absorptivity. A small size, planar and co‐planar waveguide fed metamaterial inspired antenna is proposed for ultra‐wideband (UWB) application. The main radiating element consists of three split‐ring resonators (SRR) and placed along one axis. Moreover, coplanar waveguide (CPW)‐fed line along with modified ground plane is used to improve the impedance matching. The physical size of proposed antenna is 25(W) × 22 (L) × 1.6 (H) mm3. The CPW‐fed metamaterial inspired antenna provides bandwidth of 10.4 GHz from 3.1 to 13.5 GHz based on the 3:1 (voltage standing wave ratio [VSWR] <2). Over the range of UWB frequency, peak realized gain varies from 2.5 to 4 dBi. The proposed antenna provides omnidrectional radiation patterns. Further, fidelity factor of the proposed antenna is also calculated and measured. The calculated fidelity factor is suitable for UWB applications. In this manuscript, a compact UWB with dual band‐notched planar monopole antenna is investigated. The band notched characteristics at WiMAX and WLAN is obtained by connecting two pairs of stubs to the modified ground plane. The size of proposed antenna is 25(W) × 30(L) × 1.6(H) mm3 which consists of a fork shaped structure as a main radiating element and excited with a 50‐Ω microstrip line. The proposed antenna covers Bluetooth frequency band (2.4‐2.48 GHz) along with UWB spectrum without increasing the size of the antenna. The measured operating frequency of the proposed antenna is from 2.4 to 12.8 GHz along with WiMAX and WLAN band‐notched. Moreover, the measured gain of the proposed antenna varies between 2 and 6 dBi except notched band. At notched frequencies, it is −1 and −6 dBi at WiMAX and WLAN, respectively. The total antenna efficiency varies from 80% to 95% except notched frequency bands. The radiation patterns and time domain characteristics are also analyzed and found suitable for the modern UWB applications. Finally, a prototype of dual band‐notched antenna is manufactured and its characteristics are measured using network analyzer. The simulated and measured results are found in close agreement.
