Abstract

An enatioselective intramolecular [2 2 2] cycloaddition of various enediynes is developed by using Rh-[H.sub.8]-BINAP catalyst. The choice of substituents on the alkyne termini is very important for high enantioselectivity in order to prevent alkyne-alkyne oxidative coupling of enediynes prior to alkyne-alkene coupling and unsymmetrical enediynes with carbon and heteroatom tethers are transformed into [2 2 2] cycloadducts in high ee.

Abstract

The silylation of alcohols using allylsilanes was catalyzed by cationic Au(I) and Pt(II) species, which were prepared in situ from the metal chlorides ([AuCl(PPh3)], PtCl2) and a silver salt. TBS-, TES-, and TIPS-protections of various alcohols and carboxylic acids could be possible.
