Abstract

Thin films and layers of copper sulfide with CuxS composition were obtained by chemical deposition from aqueous medium on substrates of matted and unmatted quartz. Using scanning electron microscopy and EDX analysis, the features of the morphology and composition of layers on different substrates were revealed. An excess of copper was found in the semiconductor layer. For the films grown on unmatted quartz, the transmission spectra were determined, as well as the optical band gap by processing the Tauc equation. The layers deposited on matted quartz were investigated for photocatalytic activity by oxidation in their presence of hydroquinone under the action of UV radiation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Yttria stabilized zirconia films were deposited on different substrates by using sol-gel method. Composition and morphology of synthesized films were investigated. The conclusion about influence of substrate material on film morphology is made. Presence of yttrium in zirconia films was found. Crystallin structure of film crystallites was investigated. В настоящей статье описывается нанесение золь-гель методом диоксида циркония, стабилизированного оксидом иттрия, на различные подложки. Исследованы состав и морфология полученных пленок. Сделан вывод о влиянии материала подложки на морфологию пленок. Установлено вхождение иттрия в состав пленок. Определена кристаллическая структура кристаллитов пленок.

Abstract

Lead sulfide thin films were grown by means of chemical bath deposition using thermostatically controlled conditions, microwave and ultrasonic irradiation. The film was characterized by means of XRD, SEM and EDX methods. According to XRD deposited film has a cubic structure of PbS. SEM confirmed nanosize nature of thin film that depend on deposition conditions. The dark resistance and photosensitivity of PbS film is shown to correlate with deposition time, concentration of ammonium iodide in reaction mixture, ultrasound and microwave influences. © 2018 Chemical Publishing Co. Abstract

Chemical deposition from aqueous environments has significant perspective among existing methods of obtaining Cu 2 Se and ZnSe thin films. This method eliminates using complex expensive equipment, high-temperature heating, and deep vacuum. In this work, the calculation method for predicting the border conditions for the formation of individual metal chalcogenides phases was presented and widely tested on practice. Energy-dispersive analysis was used to investigate the elemental composition of the films. According to the results of thermoelectric power method, the layers had hole type conductivity.

32. Modeling a Heterogeneous Cu(II)–H2O–OH––NH3 System with Data from Measuring pH.

Abstract

A mathematical model of the Cu(II)–H2O–OH––NH3 system is developed using experimental data obtained by analyzing data on the residual concentration and pH, allowing determination of the conditions for the formation of copper compounds in a solution and in precipitated form. The solubility with respect to the intermediate and the rule for choosing the preferred precipitate are used in the model along with the rules of the product of solubility and molecular solubility to calculate regions of the formation of a solid phase. The values of the effective equilibrium constants of homogeneous and heterogeneous processes are calculated, using the proposed model for forty compounds formed in the system. In a number of cases, the compositions of the compounds are confirmed via X-ray fluorescence, X-ray diffraction, and differential thermographic analysis. It is established that in light of new theoretical concepts, the model allows the conditions for the hydrochemical synthesis of different target compounds to be optimized and provides a more efficient way of creating a database using the final experimental results.
