Bu yüksek lisans tezinin temel amacı, bilyalı çimento değirmenlerinde kalite kriterlerinden taviz vermeden, üretim kapasitesinin artırılması ve enerji kullanımının azaltılması için optimizasyon çalışmalarının gerçekleştirilmesidir. Bu optimizasyon işlemleri üretim süreçleri durdurulmadan yapılmıştır. Başka bir ifadeyle tesisin durdurulması sonucu meydana gelebilecek ekonomik çıktıların minimuma indirilmesi hedeflenmiştir. Ayrıca yapılan bu çalışmanın çevresel, ekonomik ve sosyal açıdan sürdürülebilirliğe etkisi incelenmiştir. Sunulan bu yüksek lisans tezinde optimizasyon çalışmaları üç aşamada gerçekleştirilmiştir. İlk aşamada, kapasitesinin çok altında çalışmakta olan çimento değirmenlerinin mevcut çalışma şartları ile elde edilen blaine (özgül yüzey), incelik, kimyasal analiz ve saatlik üretim değerleri incelenmiştir. İkinci aşamada, değirmen çalışma şartları değiştirilerek (değirmen giriş çıkış emişleri, seperatör temiz hava klape açıklıkları, filtre giriş sıcaklıkları, vb. gibi) saatlik üretim değerlerinin nasıl değiştiği gözlemlenmiştir. Üçüncü aşamada ise değiştirilen parametrelerle yaklaşık 3 ay boyunca çimento üretimi gerçekleştirilmiştir. Daha sonra, belli zaman aralıklarında değirmenlerin farklı noktalarından alınan numunelerin, dayanım, özgül yüzey, incelik ve kimyasal içerikleri XRD, CNH-S, SEM/EDX, MAPPİNG, FT-IR ve partikül sizer analiz yöntemleriyle incelenmiştir. Özellikle, seperatör temiz hava klapelerinin açıklığının %30-50 seviyelerinden %80-100 seviyelerine artırılması nedeniyle seperatör geri dönüş tonajının 200 ton/saat değerlerinden yaklaşık 150 ton/saat değerlerine çekilmesi sağlanmıştır. Çimento incelik değerlerinde ise her iki değirmende yaklaşık %18'lik artış gözlenmiştir. Çimento incelik değerlerindeki artış öğütme süresini kısaltmasıyla enerji tüketiminde tasarruf sağlamıştır. Yapılan 28 günlük dayanım test sonuçlarında yaklaşık %4 artış gözlenmiştir. Her iki değirmen için, saatlik üretim değerleri incelendiğinde ise 73-74 ton/saat üretim değerlerinden 79-80 ton/saat üretim değerlerine ulaşılmıştır. Diğer taraftan, optimizasyon çalışması sonrası değirmen ünitelerine ait ve üretim artışına bağlı olarak sevkiyatta kullanılan araçların sürdürülebilir ekolojiye ve ekonomiye etkisi KAİ değerlerinin hesaplanmasıyla değerlendirilmiştir. ii i Sonuç olarak, optimizasyon öncesi ve sonrası elde edilen sonuçlar detaylı olarak karşılaştırılmıştır. Optimizasyon sonrası hem enerji maliyeti, hem de ürün kalitesi bakımından önemli iyileştirmeler gözlenmiştir. Daha iyi kalitede ve düşük enerji tüketiminde yaklaşık %8 kapasite artışı sağlamanın yanında, enerji tüketimindeki azalmaya bağlı olarak sera gazı emisyonuna neden olan girdilerin kısmi olarak düşürüldüğü belirlenmiştir. The main purpose of this master's thesis is to carry out optimization studies to increase production capacity and reduce energy use in ball cement mills without compromising quality criteria. Moreover, these optimization processes were carried out without stopping the production processes. In other words, it seeks to minimize the economic output that may result from shutting down the facility. In addition, the effect of this study on sustainability in terms of environmental, economic, and social aspects was examined. In the master's thesis presented here, optimization studies were carried out in three stages. In the first stage, the blaine (specific surface), fineness, chemical analysis, and hourly production values obtained with the current working conditions of the cement mills operating far below their capacity were examined. In the second stage, it was observed how the hourly production values changed by changing the mill operating conditions (mill inlet and outlet suction, filter inlet temperatures, damper angles, etc.). In the third stage, cement production was carried out with the changed parameters for about 3 months. Then, the strength, specific surface, fineness, and chemical contents of the samples taken from different points of the mills at certain time intervals were examined by XRD, CNH-S, SEM/EDX, MAPPING, FT-IR, and particle sizer analysis methods. Especially since the opening values of the separator's fresh air inlets were increased from 30–50% to 80–100%, the return tonnage of the separator was reduced from 200 tons per hour to approximately 150 tons per hour. Besides, an increase of approximately 18% was observed in cement fineness values in both mills. The increase in cement fineness values shortened the grinding time and saved energy consumption. An increase of approximately 4% has been observed in the 28-day strength test results. When the hourly production values for both mills are examined, they have ranged from 73–74 tons per hour to 79–80 tons per hour. On the other hand, after the optimization study, the effects of the vehicles belonging to the mill units and used in the shipment, depending on the increase in production, on sustainable ecology and economy were evaluated by calculating the CFP values. v As a result, the results obtained before and after optimization were compared in detail. After the optimization, significant improvements were observed in terms of both energy cost and product quality. It has been determined that, besides providing an approximately 8% capacity increase in better quality and low energy consumption, the inputs that cause greenhouse gas emissions are partially reduced due to the decrease in energy consumption.

Background/Aim: Bone age (BA) is important in the diagnosis and follow-up of pediatric growth disorders. Skeletal maturation can vary according to the geographical region and climate. The goal of this study is to investigate whether Greulich-Pyle (GP) method is suitable for detecting BA for Turkish children for all age groups and both genders.Methods: In our retrospective cohort study, the roentgenograms of all pediatric patients who visited the pediatrics or pediatric endocrinology outpatient clinics and underwent left hand and wrist radiographs for suspicious trauma or BA determination were examined with reference to the GP atlas. Patients without evidence of chronic disease or growth disorders with body size and weight values between the 25th-75th percentile were included. Poor quality roentgenograms were excluded.Results: Radiographs of 665 patients were analyzed and 310 (161 boys and 149 girls, age range 13-203 months) patients were included. İncelemekte olduğumuz eser de Hanefî nevâzil edebiyatını konu edinir. Öte yandan konu hicrî altıncı asırla sınırlandırılmış ve inceleme için üç eser seçilmiştir. Araştırma, bu alanda Türkçe yazılmış, tez çalışmaları haricinde ilk müstakil kitap olarak kabul edilebilir. Konular, nevâzil eserlerinin sadece nikâh ve talâk bölümleri özelinde işlenmiştir. Ayrıca ilgili eserlere yapılan atıflara temas edilerek eserlerin mezhepteki konumlarının tespiti yapılmaya çalışılmıştır., With the change of time, problems arise that cause difficulties for people. A concept that expresses this situation is nawāzil. The study examined here also deals with Ḥanafī nawāzil literature. The subject was limited to the sixth century of the hijra and three works were selected for analysis. This research can be accepted as the first stand-alone book in this field, apart from the dissertations written in Turkish. The book covers only the marriage and divorce sections of the nawāzil works. In addition, the positions of the works in the sect was determined with the references made to the related works.

OBJECTIVE: Vaccination is the primary way to mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic. Vaccine hesitancy and refusal are one of the most important challenges against to reach herd immunity. The aim of this study is to examine the reasons for not get-ting vaccinated and the attitudes toward vaccines by people in Turkiye, who were not vaccinated, even though a COVID-19 vaccine was available for them.METHODS: This cross-sectional study is conducted in Eyupsultan district of Istanbul. The study population is 12,540. A questionnaire consisted of three sections as sociodemographic characteristics, attitudes toward COVID-19 vaccines, and Vaccination Attitudes Examination (VAX) scale was used. Among the sample size, participation rate is 69.4%.RESULTS: About 50.2% of the participants (n=259) are male, 80.3% are married, 13.1% are university graduates, and 44.0% are working in a job. About 32.8% of the participants have COVID-19 history. About 34.4% of the participants stat-ed that they would be vaccinated against COVID-19. Although those who define themselves as vaccine refuser are 5.4%, those who still refuse to be vaccinated for COVID-19 are 20.1%. In addition to this, those who are hesitant about COVID-19 vaccines are 45.6%. The most frequently preferred vaccine is comirnaty (41.7%). About 13.1% of the participants stated that "if we had a domestic COVID-19 vaccine, I would have it." The most common sources of information about vaccines are television with 78.4%, and health workers are in the last place with 14.7%. "Concerns about side effects" are the most frequently cited (85.9%) reason for not vaccinating. The mean score of the VAX scale is 42.34 +/- 10.93, and the "mistrust of vaccine benefit" is higher among primary school graduates than other educational status groups (p=0.001).CONCLUSION: Anti-vaccination attitudes have increased with the COVID-19 vaccines during pandemic. Our study is valu-able in terms of examining the reasons of individuals who have not gotten vaccinated even though they had no access prob-lems. Prominent concerns of the population should be approached seriously. Otherwise, vaccine hesitancy can be a decisive factor that would prevent the success of the struggle against pandemic.

OBJECTIVE: To test the correlation between the visual semi-quantitative score (VSQS) and different quantitative computed tomography (QCT) analyses and pulmonary physiology variables, and to determine the performance of these types of analyses on the Gender, Age, and Physiology (GAP) model for the prediction of mortality risk of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). PATIENTS AND METHODS: High-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) images of IPF patients were reviewed and the VSQS was calculated. Evaluations were made of the QCT score of interstitial lung disease (ILD) using four different previously defined methods. Respiratory function tests (RFT) and the 6-minute walk test (6MWT) were applied to all the patients. The GAP model was used to evaluate the mortality risk. The performance of the VSQS score and QCT methods on the GAP model to predict the mortality risk of the disease was calculated with ROC analysis. Purpose: Spontaneous isolated renal artery dissection is a very rare but threatening condition that can be difficult to diagnose early due to nonspecific symptoms. The goal of this study is to evaluate the incidence and multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) findings of this rare and important condition.Materials and methods: We retrospectively examined the images of all patients who underwent contrast enhanced abdominal MDCT scans due to various abdominal complaints between July 2017- July 2020. 14000 contrast enhanced MDCT scans were evaluated. Only the isolated renal artery dissections without aortic involvement were included. Age, gender, symptoms, presence of thrombosis or renal parenchymal ischemia-infarct were noted. Average extension of dissection and distance from origin were measured. Results: 8(0,054%) patients had spontaneous isolated renal artery dissection (5M, 3F, age range 43-61 years). The mean distance from origin was 3.7 cm and the average extension was 3.8 cm. 3 patients had kidney infarct with a focal area of decreased perfusion. Only 1 patient underwent digital subtraction angiography. Patients were started on an anticoagulation therapy. No surgical or interventional therapy was deemed necessary. Dissections completely disappeared in patients who could undergo follow-up MDCT.Conclusion: Spontaneous isolated renal artery dissection is a very rare condition. The etiology is not well known. The initial symptoms are generally nonspecific such as severe upper abdomen or flank pain. There are several treatment options available such as medical, surgical or interventional managements. Early diagnose is important to prevent complications. It should be considered in patients with new-onset flank or abdominal pain., Amaç: Spontan izole renal arter diseksiyonu, spesifik olmayan semptomlar nedeniyle erken teşhis edilmesi zor olabilen, çok nadir fakat tehdit edici bir durumdur. Bu çalışmanın amacı, bu nadir ve önemli durumun insidansını ve çok kesitli bilgisayarlı tomografi (ÇKBT) bulgularını değerlendirmektir.Gereç ve Yöntem: Temmuz 2017-Temmuz 2020 tarihleri arasında çeşitli karın şikayetleri nedeniyle kontrastlı abdominal ÇKBT taraması yapılan tüm hastaların görüntülerini retrospektif olarak inceledik. 14000 kontrastlı ÇKBT görüntüsü değerlendirildi. Sadece aort tutulumu olmayan izole renal arter diseksiyonları dahil edildi. Yaş, cinsiyet, semptomlar, tromboz veya renal parankimal iskemi-enfarkt varlığı kaydedildi. Ortalama diseksiyon uzunluğu ve orijinden uzaklık ölçüldü.Bulgular: 8 (% 0,054) hastada spontan izole renal arter diseksiyonu (5E, 3K, yaş aralığı 43-61) vardı. Orjinden ortalama uzaklık 3,7 cm ve ortalama diseke segment uzunluğu 3,8 cm idi. 3 hastada böbrekte parankimal enfarkt vardı. Sadece 1 hastaya dijital substraksiyon anjiyografisi yapıldı. Hastalara antikoagülan tedavi başlandı. Cerrahi veya girişimsel tedaviye gerek görülmedi. ÇKBT takibi yapılabilen hastalarda diseksiyonlar tamamen kayboldu.Sonuç: Spontan izole renal arter diseksiyonu çok nadir görülen bir durumdur. Etiyoloji iyi bilinmemektedir. İlk semptomlar genellikle nonspesifik olup şiddetli karın veya yan ağrısıdır. Tıbbi, cerrahi veya girişimsel yönetimler gibi çeşitli tedavi seçenekleri mevcuttur. Erken teşhis, komplikasyonları önlemek için önemlidir. Yeni başlayan böğür veya karın ağrısı olan hastalarda düşünülmelidir.

Many sociologists express their opinions about the position and functions of religion in modern societies. While some claim that religion will be withdrawn from social life by emphasizing secularization, others are against these views. In this article, we will try to briefly describe the classical secularization debates that religion will decline and disappear with modernity in order to make the subject we discussed more understandable. Then, we will examine Thomas Luckmann's criticisms of these theories under the conceptualization of "invisible religion". Thus, we will scrutinize from the perspective of "invisible religion" whether the views of classical secularization theorists that "religion will eventually disappear" are a generally accepted scientific finding, as they claim. Böylece biz klasik sekülerleşme kuramcılarının ortaya koydukları “dinin eninde sonunda yok olacağı” şeklindeki görüşlerinin, iddia ettikleri gibi genel geçer bilimsel bir bulgu olup olmadığını “görünmeyen din” perspektifinden tetkik edeceğiz. Aynı zamanda Luckmann’ın sekülerleşme tartışmalarındaki önemine dikkat çekmeye çalışacağız.

Turkey's geopolitical position during the Cold War offered the opportunity to implement a policy of balance between the parties, rather than condemning it to a single bloc. The aim of this study is to demonstrate that Turkey was able to apply the balance policy sensitively while developing its relations with the Soviet Union in the perspective of a multidimensional foreign policy understanding. In the research process, the question of whether there are diplomatic or economic opportunities in the development of Turkey's relations with the Soviet Union has been acted upon, and it has been concluded that the development of economic relations is necessary for diplomatic progress. The friendship that started between Atatürk and Lenin was officially confirmed by signing agreements of friendship and mutual trust on 16 March 1921 and 17 December 1925. Right after the Second World War, the diplomatic and economic relations with the USSR cooled with the Soviet leader Stalin's claim on the Turkish lands and the Straits, and this situation was effective in Turkey's taking its place in the Western Bloc as a NATO member. The tangible political and economic improvement of relations between Moscow and Ankara was realized during the period of prime minister Süleyman Demirel, and his foreign minister İhsan Sabri Çağlayangil, when the Justice Party (JP) came to power in 1965. Turkish-Soviet relations made rapid progress between 1965 and 1971 with a "multidimensional" foreign policy understanding but it was interrupted by the military memorandum of March 12, 1971., Soğuk Savaş sürecinde Türkiye’nin jeopolitik konumu onu tek blok ile ilişki kurmaktan ziyade, taraflar arasında denge siyasetini uygulama fırsatını sunmuştur. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye’nin söz konusu dönem içinde Sovyetler Birliği ile ilişkilerini çok yönlü dış politika anlayışı perspektifinde geliştirirken, denge siyasetini de hassasiyetle uygulayabildiğini ortaya koymaktır. Araştırma sürecinde Türkiye’nin Sovyetler Birliği ile ilişkilerinin gelişiminde diplomatik mi yoksa ekonomik mi fırsatların olduğu sorusu ile hareket edilmiş, diplomatik ilerleme için öncelikle ekonomik ilişkilerinin gelişiminin gerekli olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Atatürk ve Lenin arasında başlayan dostluk, 16 Mart 1921 ve 17 Aralık 1925 tarihli dostluk ve karşılıklı güvene bağlı anlaşmalara imza atılmasıyla resmi olarak da onaylanmıştır. Sovyetler Birliği ile diplomatik ve ekonomik ilişkiler, İkinci Dünya Savaşı sonrasında Sovyet lider Stalin’in toprak ve Boğazlarda hak talep etmesi ile soğumuş ve bu durum Türkiye’nin NATO üyesi olarak Batı Bloku'nda yerini almasında etkili olmuştur. Moskova ile Ankara arasında ilişkilerin yeniden siyasi ve ekonomik olarak somut bir şekilde iyileşme göstermesi, 1965 yılında Adalet Partisinin (AP) iktidara gelmesiyle başbakan olan Süleyman Demirel ve onun dışişleri bakanı İhsan Sabri Çağlayangil döneminde gerçekleşmiştir. Bu çalışmada dönemin gazete, dergileri, yerli ve yabancı arşiv kaynakları ile röportajlardan faydalanılmıştır. Türk-Sovyet ilişkileri 1965 ila 1971 yılları arasında “çok yönlü” dış politika anlayışı ile hızlı ilerleme kaydetmiş fakat 12 Mart 1971 askerî muhtırası ile kesintiye uğramıştır.

Türk Boğazları, dünya tarihi boyunca birçok kudretli devletin kontrolünde kalmış, Asya ve Avrupa kıtalarını fiziken ayıran fakat politik olarak birleştiren önemli suyollarından biri olmuştur. Boğazların kontrolü üzerinden İstanbul’a sahip olmak, dönemin en güçlü devletlerinin nihai hedefiydi. Kuşkusuz bu değeri sağlayan onun eşsiz jeopolitik konumudur. 1453 yılında İstanbul’un fethi ile 1774 Küçük Kaynarca Antlaşmasına kadar olan zamanda Boğazlar, Marmara Denizi ve Karadeniz’in Türk hâkimiyetinde olması, bu dönemde Osmanlı Devletinin bir cihan imparatorluğu olmasında büyük katkı sağlamıştı. Osmanlı’nın yıkılış sürecine girmesinin ve 1914 yılında Birinci Dünya Savaşının başlamasının en önemli sebeplerinden biri, işgalci güçlerin Boğazlara sahip olma istekleriydi. Osmanlı Devletine dayatılan Sevr Antlaşmasını reddeden yeni Türkiye, Kurtuluş Savaşı zaferiyle imzalanan Lozan Barış Antlaşmasıyla, Misak-ı Milli hedeflerinin önemli bir kısmına ulaşmıştı. Fakat Antlaşma içerisindeki Boğazlar Sözleşmesi ile Türk Boğazlarının uluslararası bir komisyon tarafından idare edilecek olması, Türkiye’nin ulusal egemenliği açısından büyük sorundu. Neticede Türkiye’nin büyük diplomatik mesaisi sonrası 1936 yılında toplanan Montrö Konferansı’nda imzalanan Montrö Boğazlar Sözleşmesi ile Boğazların yeniden Türk egemenliği altına alınması sağlanmış, 1939 yılında başlayan İkinci Dünya Savaşında Türkiye, Boğazların kendi egemenliği altında bulunması sayesinde savaş süresince işgal edilmesinin önüne geçilmiştir. Türkiye’nin savaş süresince taraflar arasında denge politikasını başarıyla götürmesi ve savaş dışı kalmasında Boğazların payı büyüktür.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect on disease severity of the quantitative measurements of pectoral muscle area (PMA), pectoral muscle index (PMI), pectoral muscle density (PMD), subcutaneous adipose tissue (SAT) and mediastinal adipose tissue (MAT) taken on thoracic computed tomography (CT) of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), according to the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) classification. A retrospective screening was made of patients diagnosed with COPD and applied with thoracic CT and respiratory function tests. For patients with obstructive findings, a record was made of height, weight, body mass index, and smoking history (packet/year). On thoracic axial CT images, the PMA, PMI, PMD, SAT, and MAT values at the aortic arch level were calculated quantitatively using OsiriX software (Pixmeo, Switzerland). The patients were grouped as A-B-C-D according to the GOLD 2018 guidelines. Then two groups were formed as mild-moderate COPD (GOLD A-B) and severe COPD (GOLD C-D). The relationship was evaluated between clinical severity and quantitative body composition values according to the GOLD classification. A total of 80 patients diagnosed with COPD were included in the study comprising 61 males and 19 females. The GOLD A-B group included 43 (53.75%) patients and the GOLD C-D group, 37 (46.25%) patients. No significant difference was determined between the two groups in respect of the PMA, PMI, and PMD values (p=0.001). Türkiye’nin 1930’lu yıllarda Osmanlı idari yapısında Halep vilayetine bağlı olan ve Fransız mandası altındaki Suriye’de kalan İskenderun Sancağını ele geçirme politikasına ağırlık vermesiyle sorunun başladığı görülmektedir. Bugünkü Hatay iline karşılık gelen bölge 20 Ekim 1921 Ankara Antlaşması ile Fransa’ya bırakılmış, ancak Fransa’da Ankara’nın arzusu doğrultusunda nüfusun yaklaşık %39’unun yaşadığı Türklere ve toprak mülkiyetinin büyük bölümünün Türklerin elinde bulunduğu bölgeye ayrı statü tanımıştır. 1937 yılı itibariyle Avrupa politikası Türkiye’nin lehine gelişmiştir. Türkiye’nin Almanya ile ticari yakınlaşmasını gören İngiltere ve Fransa, Milletler Cemiyeti’nin Türkiye’nin Almanya’dan uzaklaşması adına Hatay’ın “ayrı bir birim” olduğu kararını almıştır. Bağımsız devlet olan Hatay, 29 Haziran 1939’da Türkiye’ye katılma kararı almıştır. Hatay’ın jeopolitik değeri geçmişte olduğu kadar bugünde önemi korumaktadır. Türkiye’nin Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti (KKTC), Ortadoğu ve Doğu Akdeniz’in güvenliği ve ulusal çıkarının korunması bağlamında Hatay’ın konumu büyük önem arz etmektedir.

The coronavirus, which appeared in Wuhan city of China and named COVID-19 , spread rapidly and caused the death of many people. Early diagnosis is very important to prevent or slow the spread. The first preferred method by clinicians is real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). However, expected accuracy values cannot be obtained in the diagnosis of patients in the incubation period. Therefore, common lung devastation in COVID-19 patients were considered and radiological lung images were used to diagnose. In this study, automatic COVID-19 diagnosis was made from posteroanterior (PA) chest X-Ray images by deep learning method. In the study, using two different deep learning methods, classification was made with different dataset combinations consisting of healthy, COVID, bacterial pneumonia and viral pneumonia X-ray images. The results show that the proposed deep learning-based system can be used in the clinical setting as a supplement to RT-PCR test for early diagnosis

1946’da ilk basımı gerçekleştirilen bu eser, Mehmet Erdoğan ve Vecdi Akyüz tarafından dilimize kazandırılmış, Prof. Dr. Hayreddin Karaman’ın takdim yazısı ile 1987’de yayınlanmıştır. Karaman’ın, bu kitabın Türkçe’ye kazandırılmasının, ülkemizde İslâm’ın ve özellikle İslâm hukukunun hakkıyla bilinip tanınması istikametinde yeni ve önemli bir adım olduğunu ifade etmesi kitabın kıymetini göstermesi açısından önemlidir. Ayrıca eserin göze çarpan diğer bir özelliği ise İslâm hukuk literatüründe mekâsıdu’ş-şerî’a (dinin talimat ve hükümlerinin gayesi, gerekçesi) konusunu ele alan sayılı kaynaklar arasında yer almasıdır. Bununla birlikte eser “Hukukun Gayeleri”nin en önemli konularını, onların örneklerini ve varlığını ispatlayan delilleri öne çıkarmayı amaçlamıştır.

Aim: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) can present with nonspecific abdominal symptoms. The aim of this study is to emphasize the importance of detecting lung basis involvement on abdominal computed tomography (CT) in patients hospitalized with abdominal complaints without known COVID-19 disease.Methods: CT images of 250 patients who underwent abdominopelvic CT scan due to various abdominal complaints were retrospectively evaluated. Inclusion criteria included patients presenting with primary abdominal complaints without respiratory symptoms, who had suspicious COVID-19 CT findings on lung basis. COVID-19 was not among the differential diagnoses of these patients at the time of admission. Results: Among 240 patients, twelve (8 females, 4 males, aged 30-69 years) had suspicious findings of COVID-19 on lung bases. Presenting complaints were abdominal pain (n=7), lack of appetite (n=5), diarrhea (n=7), vomiting (n=3), nausea (n=4) and gastric pain (n=1). Lung base CT findings included ground-glass opacities (100%), which were peribronchovascular (66.6%), bilateral (91.6%), peripheral (91.6%), or multifocal (58.3%). Cases were confirmed with laboratory testing. Conclusion: Considering that some patients present with nonspecific abdominal complaints, identifying the characteristic signs of COVID-19 incidentally in the visualized part of the lung basis on abdominal CT is important for early diagnosis, the protection of health professionals, and in reducing the spread of disease., Amaç: Koronavirüs hastalığı 2019 (COVID-19), spesifik olmayan karın şikayetleri ile karşımıza çıkabilir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, abdominal yakınmalarla başvuran hastalarda akciğer bazallerindeki bulgulara bakarak COVID-19 tanısı koymada abdomen BT’nin önemini vurgulamaktır.Yöntemler: Çeşitli abdominal şikayetler nedeniyle abdominopelvik BT taraması yapılan 250 hastanın görüntüleri geriye dönük olarak değerlendirildi. Dahil etme kriterleri, başlangıçta solunum şikayetleri olmaksızın abdominal yakınma ile başvuran, akciğer bazallerinde COVID-19 şüpheli BT bulguları olan, ancak başvuru anında COVID-19 ön tanısı olmayan hastaları içerir.Bulgular: 240 hastadan 12'sinde (8K, 4M; 30-69 yaş) akciğer bazallerinde şüpheli COVID-19 bulguları vardı. Başvuru şikayetleri iştahsızlık (n=5), karın ağrısı (n=7), ishal (n=7), bulantı (n=4), kusma (n=3) ve mide ağrısı (n=1) idi. Akciğer bazalleri tutulumunun dağılımı peribronkovasküler (%66,6), bilateral (%91,6), periferik (%91,6) veya multifokal (%58,3) olan buzlu cam opasiteleri (%100) idi. Vakalar laboratuvar testleri ile doğrulandı.Sonuç: Bazı hastaların nonspesifik karın şikayetleri ile başvurduğu düşünülürse; abdominal BT'de akciğer bazallerinin tetkike dahil kısımlarında COVID-19' un tipik belirtilerini tespit etmek, zamanında tanı koymak, sağlık çalışanlarını korumak ve hastalığın yayılmasını azaltmak açısından çok önemlidir.

Giriş/Amaç:Kanser hastalarında, vücut kompozisyonunun prognoz üzerindeki etkisi yeni bir klinik ilgi alanıdır. Evre 2 veya 3 obezite (VKİ> 35) olan hastalarda sağ kalım, bir meta-analizde kontrol gruplarına oranla daha kötü olarak bulunmuştur. BMI kategorisi, vücut kompozisyonunu tam olarak temsil etmez ve gerçek kas ve yağ miktarını belirlemek için kullanımı zordur. Bilgisayarlı tomografi (BT) vücut kompozisyonunu kesin olarak belirlemek için sık kullanılan bir yöntemdir.Gereç ve Yöntemler:Tüm karın kasları (psoas, diken omurga, kuadratus lumborum) dış ve iç oblik ve rektus abdominis dahil olmak üzere aksiyal BT görüntüleri toplam iskelet kası alanı (SMA) hesaplandı. Ayrıca, subkütanöz adipoz ve viseral adipoz doku dağılımı (VAT, SAT) alanlarının aksiyal BT görüntüleri, adipoz doku için -30 ila -190 eşik değerleri kullanılarak cm2 cinsinden hesaplanmıştır.Bulgular:Seksen dört kadın çalışmaya dahil edildi. Hastaların çoğu normal veya aşırı ağırlıklı idi. İnvaziv karsinom NST, çalışma popülasyonunun % 94'ünde baskın histolojik alt tiplerdi. Sarkopenik ve sarkopenik olmayan hastaların sayısı sırasıyla 11 ve 68 idi. Her iki gruptaki hastalar için ortalama genel sağkalıma (OS) takip süresinin sonunda ulaşılamasa da, gruplar arasındaki fark istatistiksel olarak anlamsızdı. Her iki grup için ortanca OS'ye ulaşılmadı, düşük ve yüksek VAT grupları arasındaki fark istatistiksel olarak anlamlıydı. Çoklu analizlerde VAT bağımsız bir risk faktörü olarak saptandı.Sonuç:Bu çalışmada sarkopeninin 40 yaşın altındaki meme kanseri hastalarında görülebildiğini ve prognostik bir etkisi olmadığını gösterdik., Objective:In cancer patients, the effect of the body composition on prognosis is a new clinical area of interest. In patients with class 2 or 3 obesity (BMI >35), survival found to be worse control groups in a pooled analysis. BMI category is not truly representing body composition and hard to use to determine the true muscle and fat quantity. Computed tomography (CT) is a frequent method to determine body composition precisely.Methods:Axial CT images, including all abdominal muscles (psoas, erector spinae, quadratus lumborum) external and internal oblique and rectus abdominis) total skeletal muscle area (SMA), was calculated. Besides, axial CT images of the body fat subcutaneous adipose and visceral adipose tissue distribution (VAT, SAT) areas were calculated in cm2 using threshold values of -30 to -190 for adipose tissue.Results:Eighty-four women were included in the study. Most of the patients were normal or over-weighted. Invasive carcinoma NST was the dominant histological subtypes, with 94% of the study population. The count of the sarcopenic and non-sarcopenic patients was 11 and 68 respectively. Although the median OS cannot be reached at the end of the follow-up period for both groups, the difference between groups statistically insignificant. The median OS was not reached for both groups, the difference between low and high TVAT groups was statistically significant. In multivariate analysis, TVAT was found to be an independent risk factor.Conclusion:In this study, we demonstrate sarcopenia may be seen in patients with breast cancer under 40 years old, and it may not have a prognostic effect.
