Hybrid nanofluids are of great importance in the field of industry due to high effective thermal conductivity which causes high rates of heat transfer. The current article investigates the impact of variable magnetic field and chemical reaction of MWCNT/Fe3O4–water hybrid nanofluid over an exponentially shrinking porous sheet with slip boundary conditions. Suitable transformations convert the governing equations into coupled nonlinear ordinary differential equations. Further, these equations are solved by the help of shooting technique. The influences of operating parameters on the flow domain as well as force coefficients and rates of heat and mass transfers are computed and shown through graphs and tables. It is found that hybridity augments the temperature and concentration profiles. Further, suction/injection parameter enriches the skin friction coefficient, but reverse trend is observed for velocity slip parameter.

The steady boundary layer viscous incompressible fluid flow on a permeable flat plate embedded in a porous medium has been considered in the present study. The momentum transport phenomena are subjected to external magnetic field, permeability of the porous medium and cross flow due to presence of suction and injection. Moreover, the heat transfer phenomena consider the loss of thermal energy due to radiation and mass transfer phenomena accounts for the generative/destructive chemical reaction of the reactive species as well. Most importantly, the temperature dependent viscosity and thermal conductivity of the fluid makes the present study more realistic. The numerical solution presented through graphs brings out the interesting outcomes: The higher rate of suction enhances the fluid temperature. This observation is akin to the fact that the higher suction brings the molecules closure hence the heat transfer increases. The porous medium, embedding the plate, acts as a coolant by reducing the fluid temperature.

The effects of non-uniform heat source/sink and viscous dissipation on MHD boundary layer flow of Williamson nanofluid through porous medium under convective boundary conditions are studied. Surface transport phenomena such as skin friction, heat flux and mass flux are discussed besides the three boundary layers. The striking results reported as: increase in Williamson parameter exhibiting nanofluidity and external magnetic field lead to thinning of boundary layer, besides usual method of suction and shearing action at the plate, a suggestive way of controlling the boundary layer growth. It is easy to implement to augment the strength of magnetic field by regulating the voltage in the circuit. Also, addition of nano particle to the base fluid serves as an alternative device to control the growth of boundary layer and producing low friction at the wall. The present analysis is an outcome of Runge-Kutta fourth order method with a self corrective procedure i.e. shooting method.
