Background and Aims: Considering the increasing prevalence of dental services in the community and the impossibility of identifying each infected patient, hand sanitation is the most critical factor in controlling infection in these centers. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the effect of educational intervention on the hand health behavior of the staff of Tehran dentistry clinics based on the health belief model (HBM). Methods: In this quasi‐experimental study in 2017, 128 employees of the health centers were selected through a multistage sampling method and they were placed in two groups of intervention and control (each 64 people). The data was collected using a questionnaire devised by the researcher. The validity and reliability of the questionnaire were determined. The questionnaire consisted of demographics, knowledge, structures of the HBM, and behavior variables. Then, the intervention was administered based on HBM‐based education. Data were analyzed by SPSS16 and independent t test, χ2, and repeated measurement analysis of variance. Results: Before the intervention, the two intervention and control groups did not differ significantly in terms of demographic variables, mean scores of knowledge, constructs of HBM, and hand hygiene behavior (p > 0.05), while the intervention group was scored higher significantly compared to the control one after the intervention (p < 0.001). Conclusion: According to the findings, the HBM can be used as a framework for designing educational interventions to improve hand hygiene behavior to control infection in health centers. Co-exposure to n-hexane and methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) may induce neurotoxicity in humans. Since biomonitoring of exposed chemicals is a powerful hygienic way of controlling chemical risk, a new molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) is reported in this study. Polymerization was carried out upon the surface of magnetic silica aerogel (Si@Fe3O4) using 2-octanone as a dummy template to prepare Si@Fe3O4-MIP. The synthesized MIP was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectrometry thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) analysis, and vibration sample magnetometry (VSM). The reported method was utilized for the selective extraction of n-hexane and MEK from humane urine using gas chromatography – flame ionization detection (GC-FID). The highest selectivity coefficient of Si@Fe3O4-MIP was obtained for n-hexane and MEK. The validity of solid phase extraction (SPE)-based Si@Fe3O4-MIP was confirmed by the recovery (> 93.6%) and acceptable reproducibility was obtained with relative standard deviations between 1.6 and 8%. The limit of quantifications (LOQ) for n-hexane and MEK were 1.5 and 128 µg/L, respectively. The validated SPE-based Si@Fe3O4-MIP is suggested for determining n-hexane and MEK in urine of shoemaker workers for biomonitoring purposes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The Visual Aesthetic of Website Inventory (VisAWI) is the most commonly used self-report instrument for evaluating website aesthetics. However, at this time, there is no valid and reliable instrument in Farsi for Iranian users to evaluate website aesthetics. This study aimed to translate, validate, and evaluate the psychometric properties of a Farsi version of VisAWI. To do this, the cross-cultural adoption method was used in this study. First, the VisAWI was translated using forward-backward translation. Then, in order to evaluate scale validity, content and face validity were determined. The final version of a scale inventory with 12 items was given to 200 students to evaluate one of the most visited websites in Iran which is the first e-commerce website. The reliability of scale was assessed using Cronbach's alpha and test-retest. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to evaluate the validity of scale. Cronbach's alpha was 0.79 for this version. Confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the four-factor structure model was best fitted for the data. Our results showed the scaled psychometric Farsi version of VisAWI items tended to be valid and reliable for Iranian users. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Colorectal cancer is one of the most prevalent types of cancer in Iran. Detection and removal of polyps in colorectal cancer can significantly decrease the morbidity and mortality of the disease. The present study aimed to describe the characteristics of patients who had been detected with colorectal neoplasia. Method: This descriptive study was conducted on all the people who had been referred to the Research Institute for Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases for receiving colonoscopy services during 2017-2019. Information was collected through questionnaires designed based on four categories, namely personal information, clinical history, pharmacological history, and pathological results. We used logistic regression analysis to investigate the relationship between independent risk factors and colorectal neoplasia. Results: The total number of the patients referred to the hospital was 2826. The percentage of males was 43.06. There was a low statistically significant relationship between gender and having neoplasia (P = 0.053). We found that the history of diabetes was associated with neoplasia (P = 0.007). Watery diarrhea and abdominal pain had a relationship with colorectal neoplasia and P-values; they were both below 0.001. Moreover, weight loss and inflammatory bowel disease had a significant statistical relationship and P-values were 0.02 and <0.001, respectively. Conclusion: In Iran, most colonic polyps are located in the left colon and also polyps that are situated in different locations. Our study could strongly suggest some important risk factors, such as age, smoking, and body mass index, whose impact on colorectal neoplasia has been reported by other papers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
