The total cross section for the dd -> 4He K+ K- reaction has been measured at a beam momentum of 3.7 GeV/c, corresponding to an excess energy of 39 MeV, which is the maximum possible at the Cooler Synchrotron COSY-J\"{u}lich. A deuterium cluster-jet target and the ANKE forward magnetic spectrometer, placed inside the storage ring, have been employed in this investigation. We find a total cross section of sigma(tot) < 14 pb, which brings into question the viability of investigating the dd -> 4He a0(980) reaction as a means of studying isospin violation., Comment: Five pages with three eps figures

We investigate the K^- ^3He and K^+ K^- interactions in the reaction pd -> ^3He K^+ K^- near threshold and compare our model calculations with data from the MOMO experiment at COSY-Juelich. A large attractive effective K^- p amplitude would give a significant K^- ^3He final-state interaction effect which is not supported by the experimental data. We also estimate upper limits for the a_0(980) and f_0(980) contributions to the produced K^+ K^- pairs., Comment: 5 pages, 2 figures, accepted for publication in PRC

The reaction pp -> d K^+ K^0-bar has been investigated at excess energies Q = 47.4 and 104.7 MeV above the K^+ K^0-bar threshold at COSY-Juelich. Coincident dK^+ pairs were detected with the ANKE spectrometer, and events with a missing K^0-bar invariant-mass subsequently identified. The joint analysis of invariant-mass and angular distributions reveals s-wave dominance between the two kaons, in conjunction with a p-wave between the deuteron and the kaon pair, i.e. K K-bar production via the a_0^+(980) channel. Integration of the differential distributions yields total cross sections of sigma(pp -> d K^+ K^0-bar) = (38 +/- 2(stat) +/- 14(syst)) nb and 190 +/- 4(stat) +/- 39(syst)) nb for the low and high Q values, respectively., Comment: 7 pages, 6 figures; accepted for publication in Eur.Phys.J. We calculate the scattering lenths A(K-,3He) and A(K-,4He) using the multiple scattering approach and different parameters sets for the elementary a(Kbar,N). Within the zero-range approximation, we find for both systems loosely bound states with binding energies in the range 2-7 MeV and widths 11-18 MeV. It is demonstrated that the existence of deeply bound K-,4He states, which have been predicted in literature, can be tested by measuring the reaction dd -> 4He K-K+ at COSY., Comment: 4 pages, 1 figure, 1 table; prepared for the proceedings of STORI2005

Using the Quark-Gluon Strings Model -- combined with Regge phenomenology -- we perform a comparative analysis of $\Lambda$, $\Sigma^0$, $\Lambda(1520)$ and $\Theta^+$ production in binary reactions induced by photon, pion and proton beams on the nucleon. We find that the existing experimental data on the $\gamma p \to K^+ \Lambda$ differential and total cross sections can be described very well by the model for photon energies $1 - 16$ GeV and $-t < 2$ GeV$^2$ assuming a dominant contribution of the $K^*$ Regge trajectory. Moreover, using the same parameters we also reproduce the total $\gamma p \to K^+ \Sigma^0$ and $\gamma p \to K^+ \Lambda(1520)$ cross sections suggesting a 'universality' of the Regge model. In order to check the consistency of the approach we evaluate the differential and total cross sections for the reaction $\pi^- p \to K^0 \Lambda$ which is also found to be dominated by the $K^*$ Regge trajectory. Using the apparent 'universality' of the Regge model we extend our scheme to the analysis of the binary reactions $\gamma p \to \bar{K}^0 \Theta^+$, $\pi^- p \to K^- \Theta^+$ and $pp \to \Sigma^+ \Theta^+$ as well as the exclusive and inclusive $\Theta^+$ production in the reactions $pp \to p \bar{K}^0 \Theta^+$ and $pp \to \Theta^+ X$. Our detailed studies demonstrate that $\Theta^+$ production does not follow the 'universality' principle thus suggesting an essentially different internal structure of the exotic baryon relative to conventional hyperons or hyperon resonances., Comment: 11 pages, 13 figures; accepted for publication in Eur. We present predictions for the the K^- \alpha scattering length obtained within the framework of the multiple scattering approach. Evaluating the pole position of the K^- \alpha scattering amplitude within the zero range approximation, we find a loosely bound K^- \alpha state with a binding energy of E_R = -2 ... -7 MeV and a width \Gamma_R = 11 ... 18 MeV. We propose to measure the K^- \alpha scattering length through the final state interaction between the \alpha and K^- meson produced in the reaction dd \to \alpha K^+ K^-. It is found that the K^-\alpha invariant mass distribution from this reaction at energies near the threshold provides a new tool to determine the s-wave K^- \alpha scattering length., Comment: 6 pages, 3 PS figures

The reaction pp -> dpi+eta has been measured at a beam energy of T=2.65 GeV (p=3.46 GeV/c) using the ANKE spectrometer at COSY-Juelich. The missing mass distribution of the detected dpi+ pairs exhibits a peak around the eta mass on top of a strong background of multi-pion pp -> dpi+(n(pi)) events. The differential cross section d^4(sigma)/d(Omega_d)d(Omega_pi+)d(p_d)d(p_pi+) for the reaction pp -> dpi+eta has been determined model independently for two regions of phase space. Employing a dynamical model for the a0+ production allows one then to deduce a total cross section of sigma(pp -> da0+ -> dpi+eta)=(1.1 +/- 0.3_(stat) +/- 0.7_(syst)) microbarn for the production of pi+eta via the scalar a0+(980) resonance and sigma(pp -> dpi+eta) = (3.5 +/- 0.3_(stat) +/- 1.0_(syst)) microbarn for the non-resonant production. Using the same model as for the interpretation of recent results from ANKE for the reaction pp -> dK+(bar(K0)), the ratio of the total cross sections is sigma(pp -> d(K+(bar(K0)))_(L=0))/sigma(pp -> da0+ -> dpi+eta) = 0.029 +/- 0.008_(stat) +/- 0.009_(syst), which is in agreement with branching ratios in the literature., Comment: 5 pages, 8 figures, 1 table

The real and imaginary parts of the \bar K^0 d scattering length are extracted from the \bar K^0 d mass spectrum obtained from the reaction pp \to d \bar K^0 K^+ measured recently at the Cooler Synchrotron COSY at J\"ulich. We extract a new limit on the K^- d scattering length, namely Im a \le 1.3 fm and |Re a| \le 1.3 fm. The limit for the imaginary part of the K^- d scattering length is supported by data on the total K^- d cross sections., Comment: 6 pages, 3 PS figures, uses espcrc2.sty

Using an effective Lagrangian approach as well as the Quark-Gluon Strings Model we analyze near-threshold production of a0(980)-mesons in the reaction NN -> d K \bar{K} as well as the background of non-resonant K\bar{K}-pair production. We argue that the reaction pp -> d K^+ \bar{K}^0 at an energy release Q<=100 MeV is dominated by the intermediate production of the a0(980)-resonance. At larger energies the non-resonant K^+\bar{K}^0-pair production - where the kaons are produced in a relative P-wave - becomes important. Then effects of final-state interactions are evaluated in a unitarized scattering-length approach and found to be in the order of a 20% suppression close to threshold. Thus in present experiments at the Cooler Synchrotron COSY-J\"ulich for Q<=107 MeV the a_0^+ signal can reliably be separated from the non-resonant K^+\bar{K^0} background., Comment: 14 pages, 12 figures, submitted to EPJ A

Deuteron two-body photodisintegration is analysed within the framework of the Quark-Gluon Strings Model. It is found that the forward-backward angle asymmetry predicted by the model is confirmed by the recent data at different photon energies from Jlab. The first measurement of the p n -> d omega total cross section has been achieved at mean excess energies of Q = 28 and 57 MeV by using a deuterium cluster-jet target. The momentum of the fast deuteron was measured in the ANKE spectrometer at COSY-Juelich and that of the slow "spectator" proton p(sp) from the p d -> p(sp) d omega reaction in a silicon telescope placed close to the target. The reaction pp->d K+ Kbar0 has been investigated at an excess energy of Q=46 MeV above the (K+ Kbar0) threshold with ANKE at COSY-Juelich. From the detected coincident dK+ pairs about 1000 events with a missing Kbar0 were identified, corresponding to a total cross section of sigma(pp->d K+ Kbar0)=(38 +/- 2(stat) +/- 14(syst)) nb. Invariant-mass and angular distributions have been jointly analyzed and reveal s-wave dominance between the two kaons, accompanied by a p-wave between the deuteron and the kaon system. The $a_0$(980) and $f_0$(980) resonances are two well established states in the excited meson spectrum. We review the most prominent theoretical models which try to explain the structure of these states. It is discussed whether data from COSY on $a_0$ and $f_0$ production in $pp$, $pn$, $pd$ and $dd$ collisions allow to distinguish between the different approaches. Very promising in this respect seems to be the measurement of the reaction $dd \to (\mathrm{^4He} a_0^0 \to) \mathrm{^4He} \pi^0\eta$ which violates isospin conservation and can be related to $a_0$-$f_0$ mixing., Comment: Contribution to the workshop on the future physics program at COSY-Juelich, CSS2002 (8 pages, no figures)

We study the perspectives of resonant charmonium production in $\bar{p} + A$ reactions within the Multiple Scattering Monte Carlo (MSMC) approach. We calculate the production of the resonances $\Psi(2S)$ and $\Psi(3770)$ on various nuclei, their propagation and decay to dileptons and $D+ \bar{D}$ in the medium and vacuum, respectively, employing parametrizations for the $D,\bar{D}$ self energies taken from QCD sum rule studies. The elastic and inelastic interactions of the charmonia and open charm mesons in the medium are taken into account, too. It is found that the $D, \bar{D}$ invariant mass spectra from light and heavy nuclei are not sufficiently sensitive to the in-medium properties of the $\Psi(2S)$ and $\Psi(3770)$. However, a 'suppression' of low mass dileptons from the $\Psi(3770)$ might be seen experimentally as well as a small broadening of the $\Psi(2S)$ dilepton spectra., Comment: 9 pages, LaTeX, including 9 postscript figures, submitted to Eur. Using the Quark-Gluon Strings Model (QGSM) combined with Regge phenomenology we consider the reactions $\pi^- p \to K^0 \Lambda$ and $\pi^- p \to D^- \Lambda_c^+$ which are dominated by the contributions of the $K^*$ and $D^*$ Regge trajectories, respectively. The spin structure of the amplitudes is described by introducing Reggeized Born terms. It is found that the existing data for the reaction $\pi^- p \to K^0 \Lambda$ are in reasonable agreement with the model predictions. To describe the absolute values of the cross sections it is necessary to introduce also suppression factors which can be related to absorption corrections. Furthermore, assuming the SU(4) symmetry to hold for Regge residues and the universality of absorption corrections we calculate the cross section of the reaction $\pi^- p \to D^- \Lambda_c^+$. Employing the latter results from $\pi^- p$ reactions we then estimate the contributions of the pion exchange mechanism to the cross sections of the reactions $NN \to NK\Lambda$ and $NN \to N\bar D \Lambda_c$ and compare them with the contributions of the $K$ and $D$ exchanges. We find that the $NN$ reactions are dominated not by pion exchange but by $K$ and $D$ exchanges, respectively. Moreover, assuming the SU(4) symmetry to hold approximately for the coupling constants $g_{ND \Lambda_c}$ = $g_{NK \Lambda}$ we analyze also the production of leading $\Lambda_c$ hyperons in the reaction $NN \to \Lambda_c X$. We consider near-threshold $a_0(980)$-meson production in $\pi N$ and $NN$ collisions. An effective Lagrangian approach with one-pion exchange is applied to analyze different contributions to the cross section for different isospin channels. The Reggeon exchange mechanism is also evaluated for comparison. The results from $\pi N$ reactions are used to calculate the contribution of the $a_0$ meson to the cross sections and invariant $K \bar K$ mass distributions of the reactions $pp\to pn K^+\bar K^0$ and $pp\to pp K^+K^-$. It is found that the experimental observation of $a_0^+$ mesons in the reaction $pp\to pn K^+\bar K^0$ is much more promising than the observation of $a_0^0$ mesons in the reaction $pp\to pp K^+K^-$. Effects of isospin violation in the reactions $pN \to d a_0$, $pd \to \mathrm{^3He/^3H} a_0$, and $ dd \to \mathrm{^4He} a_0$, which are induced by $a_0(980)$--$f_0(980)$ mixing, are also analyzed., Comment: 43 pages, including 16 eps figures, to be bublished in Phys. We study the perspectives of resonant and nonresonant charmed meson production in $\bar{p} + A$ reactions within the Multiple Scattering Monte Carlo (MSMC) approach. We calculate the production of the resonances $\Psi(3770), \Psi(4040)$ and $\Psi(4160)$ on various nuclei, their propagation and decay to $D, \bar{D}, D^*, \bar{D}^*, D_s, \bar{D}_s$ in the medium and vacuum, respectively. The modifications of the open charm vector mesons in the nuclear medium are found to be rather moderate or even small such that dilepton spectroscopy will require an invariant mass resolution of a few MeV. Furthermore, the elastic and inelastic interactions of the open charm mesons in the medium are taken into account, which can be related to $(u,d)$-, $s$- or $c$-quark exchange with nucleons. It is found that by studying the $D/\bar{D}$ ratio for low momenta in the laboratory ($\leq 2-2.2$ GeV/c) as a function of target mass $A$ stringent constraints on the $c$-quark exchange cross section can be obtained. On the other hand, the ratios $D^-_s/D^+_s$ as well as $D/D^-_s$ and $D/D^+_s$ at low momenta as a function of $A$ will permit to fix independently the strength of the $s$-quark exchange reaction in $D^-_s N$ scattering., Comment: 9 pages, LaTeX, including 9 postscript figures, submitted to Eur. We investigate the cross section for the reaction $NN \to NNa_0$ near threshold and at medium energies. The omega-resonance production and its pi0 gamma decay in p-A reactions close to threshold is considered within the Intranuclear Cascade (INC) Model. The pi0 gamma invariant mass distribution shows two components which correspond to the omega decay 'inside' and 'outside' the nucleus, respectively. The 'inside' component is distorted by medium effects, which introduce a mass shift as well as collisional broadening for the omega-meson and its decaying pion. The relative contribution of the 'inside' component is analyzed in detail for different kinematical conditions and nuclear targets. It is demonstrated that a measurement of the correlation in azimuthal angle between the pi0 and gamma momenta allows to separate events related to the 'inside' omega decay from different sources of background when uncorrelated pi0's and gamma's are produced., Comment: 24 pages, 11 figures

It is demonstrated that f_0-a_0 mixing can lead to a comparatively large isospin violation in the reactions pN -> da_0, pd -> ^3He/^3H a_0 and dd -> ^4He a_0 close to the corresponding production thresholds. The observation of such mixing effects is possible, e.g., by measuring the forward-backward asymmetry in the reaction pn -> d a_0^0 -> d eta pi^0., Comment: 14 pages, 5 figures

We calculate open charm production in $Pb+Pb$ reactions at SPS energies within the HSD transport approach - which is based on string, quark, diquark ($q, \bar{q}, qq, \bar{q}\bar{q}$) and hadronic degrees of freedom - including the production of open charm pairs from secondary 'meson'-'baryon' (or quark-diquark and antiquark-diquark) collisions. It is argued that at collision energies close to the $c\bar{c}$ pair threshold the dominant production mechanism is related to the two body (or quasi two body) reactions $\pi N \to \bar{D} (\bar{D^*}) \Lambda_c, (\Sigma_c)$. Estimates within the framework of the Quark-Gluon String model suggest cross sections of a few $\mu b$ for $\pi N \to \bar{D} \Lambda_c$ in the region of 1 GeV above threshold. The dynamical transport calculations for $Pb + Pb$ at 160 A$\cdot$GeV indicate that the open charm enhancement reported by the NA50 Collaboration might be due to such secondary reaction mechanisms., Comment: 14 pages, LaTeX, including 5 postscript figures, submitted to Phys. We investigate deuteron two-body photodisintegration within the framework of the Quark-Gluon Strings Model with nonlinear baryon Regge trajectories. Special attention is paid to the use of QCD motivated Regge trajectories of the logarithmic and square-root form which have been suggested recently by Brisudov\'{a}, Burakovsky and Goldman. We find that the recent experimental data from TJNAF in the few GeV region can reasonably be described by the model. Angular distributions at different $\gamma$-energies are presented and the effect of a forward-backward asymmetry is discussed. We investigate the reactions $\pi N \to a_0 N$ and $p p \to d a_0^+$ near threshold and at medium energies. An effective Lagragian approach and the Regge pole model are applied to analyze different contributions to the cross section of the reaction $\pi N \to a_0 N$. These results are used to calculate the differential and total cross sections of the reaction $p p \to d a_0^+$ within the framework of the two-step model in which two nucleons produce an $a_0$-meson via $\pi$ -meson exchange and fuse to a deuteron. The necessity of new measurements on $a_0$ production and branching fractions (of its decay to the $K\bar K$ and $\pi\eta$ channels) is emphasized for clarifying the $a_0$ structure. A model calculation for the reactions $pp\to p\Lambda K^+$ and $pp\to N\Sigma K$ near their thresholds is presented. It is argued that the experimentally observed strong suppression of $\Sigma^0$ production compared to $\Lambda$ production at the same excess energy could be due to a destructive interference between the $\pi$ and $K$ exchange contributions in the reaction $pp\to p\Sigma^0 K^+$. The electromagnetic form factors of pion and nucleon are considered within the framework of the Quark-Gluon Strings Model, where the dependence of the form factors on $q^2$ is determined by the intercept of a dominant Regge trajectory and Sudakov form factor. The analytical expressions for the form factors found in the time-like region can be directly continued to the space-like region. Good agreement with available experimental data on the pion and magnetic nucleon form factor is obtained at positive as well as negative $q^2$. It is shown that the difference in $F_\pi$ and $G_m$ at positive and negative values of $q^2$ is mainly related to the behavior of the double logarithmic term in the exponent of Sudakov form factor. The model describes also existing data on the Pauli nucleon form factor $F_2$ and the ratio $G_e/G_m$., Comment: 24 pages, 8 figures

We study the possibility to measure the elastic $\Phi N$ ($\Phi \equiv J/\psi, \psi(2S), \psi(3770),\chi_{2c}$) scattering cross section in the reaction $\bar p{+}d{\to}\Phi{+}n_{sp}$ and the elastic $D(\bar D) N$ scattering cross section in the reaction $\bar p{+}d \to D^- D^0 p_{sp}$. Our studies indicate that the elastic scattering cross sections can be determined for $\Phi$ momenta about 4-6 GeV/c and $D/ \bar D$ momenta 2 -- 5 GeV/c by selecting events with $p_t \geq 0.4$ GeV/c for $\Phi$'s and $p_t(p_{sp})\geq$ 0.5 GeV/c for $D/\bar D$-meson production., Comment: 7 pages, including 9 postscript figures

We explore the possibility to measure the elastic and inelastic $\omega N$ cross section in $p{+}d{\to}d{+}\omega{+}p_{sp}$ and $p{+}A$ reactions. Our studies indicate that the elastic scattering cross sections can be determined for $\omega$ momenta above 1 GeV/c in $p{+}d$ reactions by gating on high proton spectator momenta whereas the $\omega N$ absorption cross section down to low relative $\omega$ momenta is most effectively studied in $p{+}A$ reactions at beam energies 2.0--2.7 GeV, Comment: 7 pages, svjour-style, including 9 ps-figures

The reactions $pp\to p\Lambda K^+$ and $pp\to p\Sigma^0K^+$ are studied near their thresholds. The strangeness production process is described by the $\pi$- and $K$ exchange mechanisms. Effects from the final state interaction in the hyperon-nucleon system are taken into account rigorously. It is found that the $\Lambda$ production is dominated by $K$ exchange whereas $K$- as well as $\pi$ exchange play an important role for the $\Sigma^0$ case. It is shown that the experimentally observed strong suppression of $\Sigma^0$ production compared to $\Lambda$ production at the same excess energy can be explained by a destructive interference between $\pi$ and $K$ exchange in the reaction $pp\to p\Sigma^0K^+$. Implications of such an interference on the reaction $pp\to n\Sigma^+K^+$ are pointed out., Comment: Revised version with corrected numerical results. The general conclusions remain unchanged

We investigate the reactions p n -> d omega and p n -> d phi close to the corresponding thresholds. The S-wave amplitudes are calculated within the framework of the two-step model which is described by a triangle graph with pi, rho and omega mesons in the intermediate state. The cross sections of the reactions p n -> d omega and p n -> d phi are predicted to be significantly larger than the cross sections of the corresponding reactions p p -> p p omega and p p -> p p phi at the same values of the c.m. excess energy Q. The ratio of the yields of phi to omega is found to be (30 +/- 7) x 10^-3.

The two-step model with pi-, rho- and omega- exchanges taken into account is applied to investigate the reactions pn -> d eta and pn -> d eta-prime. The existing experimental data on the reaction pn -> d eta are analysed and predictions for the cross section of the reaction pn -> d eta-prime are presented. It is found that pi- as well as rho exchange yield significant contributions in both reactions. The effect of the final state interaction is also studied., Comment: 15 pages, 4 figures

Within the meson-exchange model we calculate $f_0$-meson production cross section in $\piN$ and $NN$ reactions and investigate the possibility for $f_0$ observation via the $K\bar{K}$ decay mode in $pp$ collisions. We investigate the reactions p n -> d omega and p n -> d phi close to threshold and at higher energies. Near threshold we calculate the S-wave amplitudes within the framework of the two-step model which is described by a triangle graph with pi-mesons in the intermediate state and find a ratio of the S-wave amplitudes squared of R =|A(phi)|^2/|A(omega)|^2 = (4-8) x 10^{-3}. Any significant enhancement of the experimental value of R(phi/omega) over this prediction can be interpreted as a possible contribution of the intrinsic s - anti s component in the nucleon-wave function. We present arguments that there is a strong resonance effect in the omega N channel close to threshold. At higher energies we calculate the differential cross sections of the reactions p n -> d omega, p n -> d phi and the ratio of the phi/omega yields within the framework of the quark-gluon string model. An irregular behavior of the phi/omega-ratio is found at s <= 12 GeV^2 due to the interference of the t- and u-channel contributions., Comment: 19 pages, 7 figures, gzipped tar file

We calculate the momentum dependence of the $\rho$-meson selfenergy based on the dispersion relation for the $\rho N$ scattering amplitude $f(\omega$) at low nuclear density. The imaginary part of $f(\omega)$ is determined from the optical theorem, while the total $\rho N$ cross section is obtained within the VDM at high energy and within the resonance model at low energy. Our numerical results indicate a sizeable broadening of the $\rho$-meson width in the medium especially for low relative momenta $p$ while the real part of the $\rho$ selfenergy is found to change its sign and becomes repulsive already at momenta above 100 MeV/c. Extrapolating to nuclear saturation density $\rho_0$ we find a dropping of the $\rho$-mass for $p \approx$ 0 in line with the QCD sumrule analysis of Hatsuda while at high energy an increase of the $\rho$-mass in line with the prediction by Eletsky and Joffe is obtained. However, when including a broadening of the baryonic resonances in the medium, the $\rho$-meson mass shift at $p \approx$ 0 becomes slightly repulsive whereas the width increases substantially., Comment: 20 pages, LaTeX, including 7 ps-figures, UGI-97-4, revised version, to be pub. in Phys. The $\omega$-, $\rho$- and $\phi$-resonance production and their dileptonic decay in $\pi^- A$ reactions at 1.1 - 1.7 GeV/c are calculated within the intranuclear cascade (INC) approach. The invariant mass distribution of the dilepton pair for each resonance can be decomposed in two components which correspond to their decay 'inside' the target nucleus and in the vacuum, respectively. The first components are strongly distorted by the nuclear medium due to resonance-nucleon scattering and a possible mass shift at finite baryon density. These medium modifications are compared to background sources in the dilepton spectrum from $\pi N$ bremsstrahlung as well as the Dalitz decays of $\omega$ and $\eta$ mesons produced in the reaction. The influence of nuclear matter on the properties of coherently produced resonances is discussed. It is shown that, in general, the mass distribution of resonance decay products has a two-component structure corresponding to decay outside and inside the nucleus. The first (narrow) component of the amplitude has a Breit-Wigner form determined by the vacuum values of mass and width of the resonance. The second (broad) component corresponds to interactions of the resonance with the nuclear medium. It can be also described by a Breit-Wigner shape with parameters depending e.g. on the nuclear density and on the cross section of the resonance-nucleon interaction. The resonance production is examined both at intermediate energies, where interactions with the nucleus can be considered as a series of successive local rescatterings, and at high energies, $E>E_{crit}$, where a change of interaction picture occurs. Medium effects as a function of the mass number $A$ are studied in the total photonuclear cross section from the $\Delta$-resonance region up to the region where shadowing effects are known to exist. A consistent picture is obtained by simply assuming a density dependence of the different mechanisms of resonance broadening and shadowing. The differential cross sections of $pD\to ^3He X$ reactions, where $X=\eta, \ \eta'\ ,\omega, \ \phi $, are calculated on the basis of a two-step mechanism involving the subprocesses $pp\to d\pi ^+$ and $\pi^+n\to Xp $. It is shown that this model describes well the form of energy dependence of available experimental cross sections at the final c.m.s. momentum $p^*$=0.4-1$ GeV/c$ for the $\eta $ and at $p^*=0-0.5$ GeV/c for the $\omega $ meson as well as the ratios $R(\eta'/\eta) $ and $R(\phi/\omega)$. The absolute value of the cross section is underestimated by an overall normalization factor of about 3 for $\eta, \ \eta '$ and by nearly one order of magnitude for $\omega$ and $\phi$. The spin-spin correlations are predicted for the reaction ${\vec D}{\vec p}\to ^3He X$ in the forward-backward approximations for the elementary amplitudes., Comment: 10 pages, 6 figures; Ref.[5] changed

We start from a field-theoretical model of zero range approximation to derive three-dimensional relativistic two- and three-body equations on a null plane. We generalize those equations to finite range interactions. We propose a three-body null-plane equation whose form is different from the one presented earlier in the framework of light-cone dynamics. We discuss the choices of the kernels in two- and three-body cases and apply our model to the description of meson and baryon Regge trajectories.
