Aim. The article describes the attitudes of students of religious education towards the values of sustainable development. It examines the degree of knowledge of these values and their practical reflection in the monitored group Concept. We carried out a preliminary examination through interviews and a questionnaire. The questions focused on the knowledge of the values of sustainable development and ways of their interpretation by respondents. Results. Students have adequate to poor knowledge of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They do not understand their connection with religious values and have no motivation to apply these values in their pedagogical practice. Conclusion. It is appropriate to innovate curricula where future religious teachers are trained to strengthen education in the values of sustainability. It is necessary to support education aimed at understanding sustainable development as a key aspect of school education. Cognitive value. Aim. The article aims to offer a theoretical approach to the literary sciences and art, in essential aspects such as their general theoretical and methodological assumptions, the relations with other sciences, and the functions performed by the literary sciences and art in the system of culture. Methods. The research methods used were the inductive-deductive and the analytical-synthetic. Results. As a result, a theoretical article is presented which reveals essential issues of the literary sciences and art, from the processing of a wide literature and historical, theoretical and critical sources associated with literature and different artistic manifestations. Conclusion. The literary and art sciences make up a complex and diverse field of knowledge, which offers transcendental knowledge in the approaches to these expressions of culture. The literary and art sciences fulfill several functions in the system of culture, given fundamentally by the spiritual needs they satisfy, oriented towards the subjectivity of cultural subjects and projected towards the survival of culture. These functions change in human cultural communities, and often determine the existence and trends in the development of literary sciences and art. Cognitive value. This paper discusses the current characteristics of the religiosity of young people in Slovakia based on data that were obtained in a survey as part of the research project "Perspectives of the Development of Religiosity in Slovakia", carried out in 2017–2020. The data presented in the article pertain to several areas related to the religious lives of young people. Firstly, data on general changes in the respondents' religiosity (such as a weakening or a strengthening) are presented, followed by data on the causes that the respondents consider having influenced these changes. Secondly, since many of the respondents claimed factors related to receiving a lot of information as such causes, the article presents data to determine to what extent the respondents paid attention to religious media in Slovakia (newspaper, radio, television, and websites). Lastly, we present the data on the respondents' attitudes towards the moral acceptance of some themes that are religiously controversial or politically divisive in Slovak society today. We then discuss the indications that emerge from the data on the religiosity of young people in Slovakia today, overall concluding that there is often an occurrence among Slovak youth of claiming an affiliation to an official church/confession/religious institution while developing and acting on individual religious opinions or beliefs. Aim. The article describes the philosophical background of competency education and analyses the weaknesses that are present in curriculum changes, focusing on the absence of dynamic acceptance of otherness. Concept. The starting point is a reflection on the philosophical background of education as a repetition and production of the same. The basic principles of the post-metaphysical approach of education to otherness and the interpretation of the innovation curriculum in relation to these principles are presented. Results. Curricular changes and innovations appear to be cosmetic adjustments in which the traditional philosophical and pedagogical principles of passive reception of knowledge and acquisition of large amounts of knowledge are preserved. Conclusion. Changing the curriculum requires a change in teachers' attitudes as well as a change in the school education system. It is necessary to define who the teacher is, who the pupil is. Parents must identify with curricular reform and see it as a positive change for their children. Cognitive value. Curricular reform cannot be done without systemic changes in education. All participants in the change must be familiar with and identify with the new paradigm and its philosophical background, otherwise it will not be possible to realise the transition to competency pedagogy. Aim. The aim of the article is to identify opportunities for religious education in the field of promoting the values of sustainable development. By identifying key concepts, define options for future strategies in the implementation of sustainable development values in school teaching of religious education. Methods. The starting point is the analysis of the current religious education curriculum, which governs the teaching of religious education and is approved by both state and church authority. Based on the analysis, identify strengths and weaknesses and define potential areas within the curriculum where sustainability values can be applied. Results. The values of sustainable development and Christian values are based on a common anthropological platform, which is based on the dignity of the human person. Religious education should also be based on this platform. Conclusion. In order to apply the values of sustainable development, it is necessary to adjust the current curriculum in terms of content and scope of topics. At the same time, it is necessary to innovate in the way of training future teachers. The goal of innovations is the internalization of sustainability values within the value orientation of both teachers and students. Cognitive value. Christian values and the values of sustainable development are not in conflict. The content of the religious education curriculum has the potential to innovate its content to meet the current requirements of the United Nations (UN) agenda as well as the teachings of the Magisterium. The contribution of the Cyrillo-Methodian religious and cultural mission has been described from different perspectives and points of view. The aim of the study is to examine how the basic principles of the Thessalonian brothers' mission are interpreted and how they are experienced and updated in the current religiosity and cultural tradition. In our study, we focus on current trends that appear in today's religiosity survival which are based on the results of the research carried out in 2020, related to the prospects of development of religiosity in Slovakia. From a methodological point of view, the text compares the underlying principles of religiosity, which are integrated in the teachings of Cyril and Methodius with current trends and ideas of the younger generation about their own religiosity. The aim of the study is to determine whether in the scenarios of the development of religiosity we find the presence of the Cyrillo- Methodian tradition and how they are transformed in the current conditions. Aim. Our main purpose is to explain the connection between the work and the intimate existence of Søren Kierkegaard, and how freedom operates in both of them. Concept. The article makes visible new writing ways that open from within Kierkegaard's work. Analytical reading of Kierkegaard's Journals and the comparative interpretation of the rest of Kierkegaard's work in terms of communicative styles and explains the genesis and location and type of communication of the Journals within the framework of the Kierkegaardian Corpus. Results. Kierkegaard's philosophy is present and indicates the extremely personal place in which the author possessed its work. Conclusions. We conclude the unavoidable importance of the Journals for the interpretation of Kierkegaard's work. The reason why the Journals are for Kierkegaard's „The Book of the Judge" lies in the direct, personal and intimate communication of its writing. Existence as free and self-conscious action constitutes the core of the article. On it rests the personal development of the individual and the incommensurable value of his life and work. Aim. The aim of this paper is to show and explain the meaning and the importance teaching biblical Hebrew and Aramic in religious education. Method. The paper presents a descriptive study of philosophy of teaching Biblical Hebrew and Aramaic as an integral part of religious education, and at the same time it points out the main problems of this education which are connected with the fact that the original language of the Tanakh (one of the basic textbooks for religious education) is not the native language of the students being taught (even Israelis whose native language is Hebrew do not speak Biblical Hebrew) and studying it demands knowledge of Biblical Hebrew and Aramaic. Results. However, as the ideal method for teaching a foreign language does not exist, the choice of teaching methods must be based on the fact that each student or teacher prefers different method of work.
