In the present day, photocatalysis has become the primary and most promising technology to generate renewable energy and degrade environmental pollutants. Remarkable efforts have been made to improve photocatalytic efficiency. Among these, introducing an external magnetic field is considered a promising strategy to boost photocatalytic performance. This review explores the dynamic realm of improving photocatalytic efficiency, with a particular emphasis on the strategic integration of external magnetic fields. Examining recent breakthroughs, we reviewed the influence of magnetic fields on diverse catalyst materials, including both magnetic and nonmagnetic variants, 2D materials, and semiconductors. Comprehensive coverage is provided on the mechanisms governing photocatalytic dye degradation, materials utilized for catalysis, and the profound impact of magnetic fields on enhancing reaction kinetics. This review also focuses on recent advances in the application and effect of magnetic fields in the magnetic and nonmagnetic catalysts towards dye degradation. This review provides a forward‐looking view, highlighting the potential of magnetic field‐enhanced photocatalysis to play a central role in sustainable energy and environmental management. The surface modification of the TiO2 with selective narrow band gap of metal or metal sulfide is an attractive attention in recent years. Herein, tiny Ag2S nanoparticles are well anchored on the TiO2 surface by a cost‐effective chemical precipitation method for efficient photocatalytic activity. The decoration of Ag2S nanoparticles is clearly identified through electron microscopy studies. The UV‐Vis diffuse reflection spectra (DRS) revealed that TiO2/Ag2S composites absorbed broad spectrum in the visible region. The reduced band‐gap of 2.41 eV by anchored the Ag2S on TiO2 may boosted the photocatalytic activity. Particularly, incorporation of Ag2S nanoparticles increased charge separation efficiency, lowering recombination, and improving photocatalytic performance. Because of their unique structural and optical properties, TiO2/Ag2S composites have increased photocatalytic activity. The photocatalytic performance of the pristine Ag2S and Ag2S anchored TiO2 are Crystal violet (CV) and Methyl orange (MO) dye molecules under same experimental condition. Metal free visible light active photocatalysts of covalent organic polymers (COPs) and polymeric graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) are interesting porous catalysts that have enormous potential for application in organic pollutant degradation. Imine condensation for COPs, and thermal condensation for g-C3N4 were used to produce the catalysts. FT-IR, Raman, NMR, UV-Vis Spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and scanning electron microscopy studies were used to investigate the structural, optical, and morphological features of the metal free catalysts. We have constructed COPs with a π-electron deficient (Lewis acidic) triazine core and π -electron rich (Lewis basic) naphthalene and anthraquinone rings coupled by -O and -N donors in this study. Furthermore, the prepared Bulk-g-C3N4 (B-GCN) was converted to porous g-C3N4 (P-GCN) using a chemical oxidation process, and the generated P-GCN was efficiently mixed with the COP to create a novel nanocomposite for photocatalytic application. Using the anthraquinone-based COP and P-GCN (1:1 ratio, PA-GCN) catalyst, the highest photodegradation efficiencies for the polymeric graphitic carbon nitride of 88.2% and 82.3% were achieved using the Fast green (FG) and Rose bengal (RB) dyes, respectively. The rate constant values of 0.032 and 0.024/min were determined for FG and RB degradation, respectively. Higher activity may be related to the incorporation of COP and PA-GCN, which act significantly well in higher visible light absorption, have superior reactive oxygen generation (ROS), and demonstrate an excellent pollutant–catalyst interaction. In this present research, heterostructure NiO–SnO2 nanocomposite modified electrode was developed to determine l-cysteine molecule. The well-crystalline NiO–SnO2 nanocomposite was synthesized via a facile chemical precipitation route. The structural, morphological, optical and chemical composition were studied using various characterization techniques such as XRD, FT-IR, BET, UV–Visible, FE-SEM, HR-TEM and XPS. For the first time, cyclic voltammetry and amperometry were investigated to study the electro-oxidation of l-cysteine using the newly developed heterostructure NiO–SnO2 nanocomposite. Enhanced electro-catalytic performance of NiO–SnO2 modified electrode was achieved by synergistic effect between the NiO and SnO2 nanoparticles in the heterostrostrucutre composite. The sensitivity was found to be 18.77 µA cm−2 mM−1 corresponding to linear range from 0.01 × 10−3 to 6 × 10−3 M with limit of detection to be 0.01 µM. The excellent selectivity of the developed NiO–SnO2/GCE modify electrode demonstrated that it can be used in real application for sensing bio molecules. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A CeO 2 -based heterostructure nanocomposite has been attractive as an electrode material for energy storage and as an electrochemical sensor. In the present work, a CeO 2 @NiO nanocomposite was prepared by a simple hydrothermal method. The structural and morphological information on the heterostructure CeO 2 @NiO nanocomposite were obtained by using different characterization methods like X-ray diffraction, UV-visible, Fourier transform infrared, electron paramagnetic resonance, Raman, field-emission scanning electron microscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray elemental color mapping, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and thermogravimetric analysis. Compared with pristine CeO 2 , the heterostructure CeO 2 @NiO nanocomposite exhibits a higher electrochemical performance with a specific capacitance of 317 F g -1 at a current density of 1 A g -1 in a 1 M KOH electrolyte. This device demonstrates a high energy density and a power density of 11 Wh kg -1 and 750 W kg -1 , respectively. Besides, it was found that CeO 2 @NiO/glassy carbon electrode (GCE) shows appreciable electrocatalytic activity toward NO 2 - oxidation. The CeO 2 @NiO-modified electrode displays a linear response for NO 2 - oxidation between 0.001 × 10 -6 and 4 × 10 -3 M. Apart from high sensitivity (2260 μA mM -1 cm -2 ), the CeO 2 @NiO-modified electrode also exhibits good selectivity and long-term stability for nitrite (NO 2 - ) detection in a water real sample, and the obtained results showed excellent recovery. The encouraging electrochemical performance of the CeO 2 @NiO nanocomposite provides a promising approach for the development of multifunctional electrode materials for future energy storage devices and sensors.
