Abstract

Glaucoma is defined as progressive optic neuropathy that damages the structural appearance of the optic nerve head and is characterized by permanent blindness. For mass fundus image-based glaucoma classification, an improved automated computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) model performing binary classification (glaucoma or healthy), allowing ophthalmologists to detect glaucoma disease correctly in less computational time. We proposed learning technique called fast discrete curvelet transform with wrapping (FDCT-WRP) to create feature set. This method is entitled extracting curve-like features and creating a feature set. The combined feature reduction techniques named as principal component analysis and linear discriminant analysis, have been applied to generate prominent features and decrease the feature vector dimension. Lastly, a newly improved learning algorithm encompasses a modified pelican optimization algorithm (MOD-POA) and an extreme learning machine (ELM) for classification tasks. In this MOD-POA+ELM algorithm, the modified pelican optimization algorithm (MOD-POA) has been utilized to optimize the parameters of ELM’s hidden neurons. The effectiveness has been evaluated using two standard datasets called G1020 and ORIGA with the -fold stratified cross-validation technique to ensure reliable evaluation. Our employed scheme achieved the best results for both datasets obtaining accuracy of 93.25% (G1020 dataset) and 96.75% (ORIGA dataset), respectively. Furthermore, we have utilized seven Explainable AI methodologies: Vanilla Gradients (VG), Guided Backpropagation (GBP), Integrated Gradients (IG), Guided Integrated Gradients (GIG), SmoothGrad, Gradient-weighted Class Activation Mapping (GCAM), and Guided Grad-CAM (GGCAM) for interpretability examination, aiding in the advancement of dependable and credible automation of healthcare detection of glaucoma.

Abstract

Due to depletion in raw material quality, blast furnace (BF) aerodynamics, hence the permeability uses to be disturbed in BF#8, Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP). Deviation in middle zone permeability of BF#8 suggested the deviation in cohesive zone shape and position. For better understanding and monitoring of the lower zone permeability of BF#8, BSP, two models were developed. The models were Cohesive Zone (CZ) shape and position prediction model and online presentation of Dead-man clinginess Index (DCI). Use of CZ model is helping in assessment of type of cohesive zone shape through which burden distributions as well as blast parameters arebeing regulated. Hearth cleanliness condition is monitored through online DCI model. Use of DCI is helping in devising the optimum casting strategy for proper drainage of liquid products and also to maintain healthy and active hearth. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Genome packaging is a critical step during the viral maturation process. Viruses employ a distinct approach to package their genetic materials inside capsid: ranging from very simple strategy of nucleation of capsid proteins onto genome to complex segro-packasome machinery. The majority of small plant viruses, which falls under type I passive system, package their genome into stable virions in the cytoplasmic compartment, where chances of co-packaging of host RNA is very high, indicates viruses evolved the mechanism of selective and stringent packaging of their genomes. Recent discoveries of the unique ATPase fold in the capsid proteins of smaller plant viruses and their direct or indirect role during genome packaging have changed the perception about genome packaging in type I system. We feel that viruses of type I system have acquired unique and independent innovations for genome packaging over the course of evolution. The molecular interactions, intriguingly, cross-talk between capsid proteins and conserved signal sequence situated at the end of genome, plays an important role while viral genome packaging and translocation. Strategy utilized by smaller plant viruses for enhancement of selective genome packaging does not depend simply on nucleation of capsid proteins over genome but interestingly, configuration of viral genome, replicase, tRNA, viral encoded movement proteins are the other important key players that regulate genome packaging. The main aim of this review is to discuss and revisit the mechanism of genome packaging among viruses of agronomic importance. Abstract

Among the vegetable crops, onion and potato prices are more unstable due to seasonality of production, perishable nature, production uncertainty etc. Lack of information on potential market as well as arrival and price behaviour of onion and potato further worsen this situation of its growers. Since market integration helps in achieving price consistency and thus lead to marketing system efficiency, the present study explores market integration and price transmission during the period March 2009 to March 2019 across the wholesale markets using Johansen's cointegration test and Granger Causality test. In this study to test the stationarity of the price series, Augmented Dickey Fuller test and Phillips-Perron test was used. The outcomes of the study strongly supported the presence of co-integration and interdependence of the selected markets from the result of Johansen cointegration test and Granger causality test revealed the presence of bidirectional relationship among most of the markets but also there exists unidirectional relationship among few markets.
