In this study, the relations between foreign trade deficit, imports of intermediate goods, manufacturing industry exports and real effective exchange rate in Türkiye in the period covering the years 1990-2020 were researched. Vector Autoregression (VAR) Model was used in the study. In the VAR model, the series must be stationary. Therefore, whether the variables are stationary or not was tested with Augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF) and Phillips-Perron (PP) unit root tests and the series were found to be non-stationary. The variables were made stationary by taking the first difference of the series. The differenced series show only short-run relationships. The Johansen Co-integration test was applied to the series in order to examine whether there are long-term relationships adjusted for time between the series. Minimum value of delay length is determined as one (1) according to LR (Sequential modified LR test statistic), FPE (Final prediction error), SC (Schwarz) and HQ (Hannan-Quinn) information criteria. "Trace Test Statistics" and "Max Eigenvalue Statistics" results were used to examine whether there is a long-term relationship between the cointegration analysis and the series.There is no cointegrating vector between the variables since the trace test statistics values and the maximum eigenvalue statistics values are less than the 5% critical value. In other words, it was determined that there was no long-term relationship between the variables. Whether there is causality between the variables was examined with the Granger causality test and the reflection of the innovation in one variable to the other variables was followed with the stimulus-response functions. According to Granger causality analysis, it is observed that there is only one-way causality relationship between imports of intermediate goods (LNIGI) and exports of manufacturing industry (LNMIE). A unidirectional causality has been determined from imports of intermediate goods to exports of the manufacturing industry., Bu çalışmada Türkiye’de 1990-2020 yıllarını kapsayan dönemde, dış ticaret açığı, ara malı ithalatı, imalat sanayi ihracatı ve reel efektif döviz kuru arasındaki ilişkiler araştırılmıştır. Çalışmada Vektör Otoregresyon (VAR) Modeli kullanılmıştır. VAR modelinde serilerin durağan olması gereklidir. Bu nedenle değişkenlerin durağan olup olmadığı Augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF) ve Phillips-Perron (PP) birim kök testi ile test edilmiş ve serilerin durağan olmadığı görülmüştür. Serilerin birinci farkı alınarak değişkenler durağan hale getirilmiştir. Farkı alınan seriler sadece kısa dönem ilişkileri gösterir. Seriler arasında zamanın etkisinden arındırılmış uzun dönemli ilişkilerin olup olmadığının incelenmesi amacıyla serilere Johansen Eşbütünleşme (Koentegrasyon) testi uygulanmıştır. Eşbütünleşme modelinin seçimini için öncelikle en uygun gecikme uzunluğu belirlenmiş, gecikme uzunluğunun minimum değeri LR (Sequential modified LR test statistic), FPE (Final prediction error), SC (Schwarz) ve HQ (Hannan-Quinn) bilgi kriterine göre bir (1) olarak tespit edilmiştir. Yapılan eş bütünleşme analizi ile seriler arasında uzun dönemli ilişki olup olmadığının tetkiki için “İz Testi İstatistiği” ve “Maksimum Özdeğer İstatistiği” sonuçları kullanılmıştır. İz testi istatistiği değerleri ve maksimum özdeğer istatistiği değerleri %5 kritik değerinden daha az olduğu için değişkenler arasında eşbütünleşik vektör bulunmamaktadır. Diğer bir deyişle değişkenler arasında uzun dönemli bir ilişkinin olmadığı saptanmıştır. Değişkenler arasında nedensellik olup olmadığı Granger nedensellik testi ile incelenmiş ve etki-tepki fonksiyonları ile bir değişkendeki inovasyonun diğer değişkenlere yansıması takip edilmiştir. Granger nedensellik analizine göre, sadece ara malı ithalatı (LNIGI) ile imalat sanayi ihracatı (LNMIE) arasında tek yönlü nedensellik ilişkisinin olduğu gözlemlenmektedir. Ara malı ithalatından imalat sanayi ihracatına doğru tek yönlü bir nedensellik tespit edilmiştir.

This study covers 9 year data sets of Kırıkkale, Aksaray, Kırşehir, Nevşehir and Niğde provinces for the period 2009-2017. According to the results of the analysis, the number of divorces and the number of courses opened from social capital indicators is not statistically significant on regional income per capita. On the other hand, the number of associations and the number of enterprises are statistically significant and positively correlated to per capita income. Although marriage variable is statistically significant, the direction of the relationship is negative.

This study examines the relationship between the course of divorce and women’s labor force participation in Turkey during 2004-2013 Period. While Trabzon has the highest rate, Mardin has the lowest rate of women participation in the labor force. A significant correlation between the participation of women in the labor force and per capita income, crude divorce rate, and added value exists. There is a significant relationship between the participation of women in the labor force and the crude divorce rate. Bi-directional causal relationships between the participation of women in the labor force and the crude divorce also exists., This studyexamines the relationship between the course of divorce and women's labor forceparticipation in Turkey during 2004-2013 Period. The object of this studyis to reveal analytically the effect of exchange rate volatility andmacroeconomic variable effects on the exchange rate in Mongolia. This studyforecasted the exchange rate by looking at the basic concepts of the exchangerate and macro variables and to estimate the changes in the exchange rate. Exchangerate and other macroeconomics variables in monthly and seasonaly are collectedand analyzed by ARIMA, SARIMA, and SVAR models. Moroever, the best result offorecasts will be selected and given some month forecasts. Instead of forecast,fan chart technique will be used to show the highest and the lowest predictionof exchange rate. In addition, GARCH families model used to determine dailydata and found to be the most suitable model., Bu çalışmada döviz kuru ve makro değişkenlerin temel kavramlarından hareketle, dövizkuru değişimlerinin makro değişkenler üzerindeki etkileri incelenip, Moğolistan örneğiüzerinden belirlenen dönemler itibari ile döviz kurunda olan değişimler saptanmayaçalışılmıştır. Döviz kuru ve diğer makro değişkenlerin aylık ve mevsimlik verileri ileARIMA, SARIMA ve SVAR modellerini analiz edilmektedir. Döviz kurunu hangi modelindaha iyi tahmin edebileceğini ve gelecek aylar için döviz kurunun ne kadar olacağınıöngörülmektedir. Bunu yaparken, Fan chart tekniği kullanılarak döviz kurunun en az veen fazla kaç olduğunu göstermektedir. Ayrıca, günlük veriler için döviz kuru getirisiniARCH ailesi modelleriyle belirlenmesi ve en uygun modelin bulunması amaçlanmıştır.

Sağlık Bakanlığı tarafından yapılan araştırmalara göre, kansere karşı önlem alınmazsa ve sistematik bir kontrol programı uygulanmazsa 2030’lu yıllarda kanserin doğrudan tedavi maliyetleri Sağlık Bakanlığı bütçesi tarafından karşılanmayacak bir büyüklüğe ulaşacaktır. Bu bağlamda bu çalışmanın temel amacı kanserin ekonomik maliyetlerini tahmin etmektir. Çalışmada kanserin doğrudan ve dolaylı maliyetleri araştırılmıştır. Yeterli veri setinin olmaması nedeniyle doğrudan maliyetler sadece SGK tarafından kanser ilaçlarına yapılan harcamaları kapsamaktadır. Kanserin dolaylı maliyetleri iki farklı yaklaşımla ele alınmıştır. Birinci yaklaşımda kanser harcamalarının yatırım olanaklarında meydana getirdiği azalma nedeniyle ortaya çıkan çıktı kaybı analiz edilirken, ikinci yaklaşımda kanser nedeniyle ortaya çıkan verimlilik kaybının çıktı düzeyinde meydana getirdiği azalma analiz edilmiştir. Yatırım olanaklarındaki azalmadan kaynaklanan çıktı kaybı analiz edilirken hesaplanabilir genel denge yaklaşımı kullanılmış, verimlilik kaybının neden olduğu çıktı kaybı analiz edilirken ekonomik simülasyon yöntemine başvurulmuştur. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre 2012 yılında SGK tarafından kanser ilaçları için yapılan ödeme yaklaşık olarak 458 Milyon TL’dir. Bununla birlikte kanserle mücadele politikalarının başarılı olması ve kanser için harcanan paranın diğer alanlarda yatırım yapmak için kullanılması durumunda optimal bileşik faktör çıktı düzeyi %0,04, optimal yurt içi çıktı düzeyi %0,01, optimal Armington varsayımına dayalı çıktı düzeyi %0,02, optimal tüketim düzeyi %0,009 artacaktır. Bununla birlikte kanser emek verimliliğini %0,01 azaltırken, çıktıda meydana gelen azalma daha fazladır. Due to the studies of the Ministry of Health, considering a potential situation in which no precautions are taken against the cancer and a systematic control program isn’t applied, the direct treatment costs in 2030 will reach a size that cannot be met by the Ministry of Health budget. The major aim of this study is to analyze economic costs of cancer. The major aim of this study is to analyze economic costs of cancer. In this study, direct and indirect costs of the cancer have been analyzed. Due to the limited data set, monetary costs are restricted to drug expenditures made by Social Security Intuition. In the study the indirect costs of cancer have been discussed in two different approaches. According to the first approach cancer expenditures lead to loss of output by reducing investments. This approach has been analyzed by employing computable general equilibrium model. According to the second approach cancer leads to output loss by decreasing labor productivity. The last approach has been analyzed by employing econometric simulations. The expenditure drug expenditure made by SSI was approximately 458 Million TL in 2012. However, if the war against cancer succeeds, the composite factor output domestic product, the optimal gross output, optimal Armington Output and the optimal consumption will respectively increase by 0.04%, 0.01%, 0.02% and 0.009%. According to the second cancer reduces labor productivity by 0.01%. However output loss is proved to be more than productivity loss.

Azerbaycan`da geliştirilen sağlık politikalarının uygulaması ve sağlık hizmetlerinin sunulması resmi olarak Sağlık Bakanlığı’nın görevidir. Sağlık hizmetleri kaynaklarının ülke genelinde dengeli dağılımı, etkili ve verimli kullanımı Sağlık Bakanlığı’nın sorumluluğundadır. Bu çalışmada Azerbaycan Cumhuriyeti Sağlık Bakanlığına bağlı, uzman doktor sayısı 100`den yukarı olan 36 ilin hastanelerinin 2013 yılı itibariyle etkinliklerinin ölçümü Veri Zarflama Analizi (VZA) yöntemi ile girdi yönelimli olarak sabit getirili CCR ve değişken getirili BCC modelleri kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Analiz sonrasında etkin olan ve olmayan hastaneler tespit edilerek, bazıları karşılaştırılmış, etkin olmayanların etkinliği için potansiyel iyileştirme önerileri geliştirilmiştir. Bu çalışma sonucunda sağlık hizmetlerinin, bütün bölgelere neredeyse aynı dağıtıldığı gözlemlenmiştir. Karşılaşılan etkinsizliklere bir çözüm alternatifi olarak, etkin olan hastaneler referans alınarak yeni bir politikaların uygulanması önerilmiştir. Bununla da sağlığa yönelik kaynakların daha etkin kullanılabileceği düşünülmüştür., The implementation of health policy and provision of health services are officially regulated in Azerbaijan by the Ministry of Health. A well-balanced distribution of health care resources and their effective and efficient use across the country are under the responsibility of the Ministry of Health. In this study, Data envelopment analysis (DEA), a CCR model with fixed input weights and the variable income BCC model were used to measure the effectiveness of 36 provincial hospitals in 2013. These hospitals with more than 100 specialists are operated under the supervision of the Ministry of Healthcare of Azerbaijan Republic. After the analysis, effective and non-effective hospitals were identified and some of them were compared and some proposals of potential improvements were made for the effectiveness of the inactive ones. And this led to the conclusion that health services has been distributed almost the same to all regions. Implementation of a new policy has been proposed as an alternative solution to the inefficient ones encountered by taking the effective hospitals as a reference. Thus it is aimed that resources for health can be used more effectively.

Healthcare services in Azerbaijan are provided by both public and private establishments. Hospitals, polyclinics, dispensaries, rehabilitation centers, and community health centers are all part of these establishments. Efficient usage of resources is an important task for the ministry of health as a higher authority which proposes and implements healthcare policies. At this study, efficiency changes for the hospitals in 55 provinces of Azerbaijan serving under the authority of the ministry of health between the years 2009 to 2013 via non parametric input oriented fixed return to scale data envelopment analysis and Malmquist index total factor productivity models.Efficient as well as non-efficient hospitals are determined and comparisons are made and possible suggestions are provided for the non-efficient ones as results of analyses. It has also been observed that healthcare services are provided to all the provinces equally as a result of this study, Azerbaycan Cumhuriyetinde sağlık hizmetleri Sağlık Bakanlığına bağlı olan kamusal ve özel kurumlar tarafından sunularak, hastaneler, poliklinikler, dispanserler, sağlık ocakları, rehabilitasyon merkezleri gibi farklı birimler tarafından yürütülmektedir. Bu bağlamda kaynakların etkin kullanımı sağlık politikasını oluşturan ve yürüten bir üst kurum gibi, Sağlık Bakanlığını yakından ilgilendirmektedir. Analiz sonrasında etkin olan ve olmayan hastaneler tespit edilerek, bazıları karşılaştırılmış, etkin olmayanların etkinliği için potansiyel iyileştirme önerileri geliştirilmiştir. Bu çalışma sonucunda sağlık hizmetlerinin, bütün bölgelere neredeyse aynı dağıtıldığı gözlemlenmiştir

Bu çalışmanın amacı, 01.11.2002-08.08.2012 dönemindeki günlük getiri değerleri kullanılarak İMKB Ulusal 100 Endeksi için en uygun farklı varyans modelinden hareketle risk ile getiri arasındaki nedensellik ilişkisinin araştırılmasıdır. Çalışma iki kısımdan oluşmaktadır. İlk kısımda simetrik ve asimetrik GARCH modelleri kullanılarak İMKB Ulusal 100 Endeksi için en uygun farklı varyans modelinin TGARCH (1,1) modeli olduğu belirlenmiş, ikinci kısımda TGARCH (1,1) modelinden elde edilen varyans değerleri risk değişkeni olarak kabul edilerek, getiri ile risk arasındaki nedensellik ilişkisi araştırılmıştır. Çalışmada kötü haberlerin dalgalanma üzerinde daha fazla etkili olduğu ve getirinin riskin nedeni olduğu bulgusuna ulaşılmıştır., The objective of this study is to determine the causality relationship between the variables of revenue and uncertainty by using the most appropriate variance model for ISE National 100 Index with the data from 01.Nov.2002 to 08.Aug.2012

Bu çalışmada Türkiye’de 1988-2009 yıllarını kapsayan dönemde, kadınların çalışma hayatı ile sosyoekonomik faktörlerin etkileşimi ele alınmıştır. Kullanılan veri seti, evli kadınlara ait doğurganlık oranı, boşanma oranı, kadınların işgücüne katılma oranı ve ücret endeksi olarak belirlenmiştir. Çalışmada kullanılan değişkenlerin uzun dönem ilişkisi ele alınmıştır. Bunun için serilerin durağanlık testine başvurulmuş ve daha sonra eş bütünleşme analizi ve hata düzeltme teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Uzun dönem ilişkisinde bir eş bütünleşmenin söz konusu olduğu vektörün varlığı ve ücret endeksi ile doğurganlık arasında aynı yönlü ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Diğer taraftan, ücret endeksi ile kadınların işgücüne katılma oranı arasındaki ilişki negatif yönlü bulunmuştur. Yine ücret endeksi ile boşanma arasında aynı yönlü uzun dönem ilişkisi bulunmuştur. Ayrıca, değişkenlerin Granger nedensellik testinde nedenselliğin varlığı araştırılmış ve etki-tepki fonksiyonları ile değişkenlerdeki innovasyonun diğer değişkenlere yansıması takip edilmiştir

Bu çalışmada, 2000-2009 döneminde faaliyette bulunan 31 adet dünya demiryolu şirketinin VZA- Pencere Analizi ile dinamik Teknik Etkinlik ve Tahsis Etkinliği ve Ortalama Etkinlik skorları CCR ve BCC metotlarıyla elde edilmek istenmiştir. CCR modeli ile yapılan analizde ilk yıl için toplam 17 firma etkin iken 2009 yılı için bu sayı 18 firmaya çıkmıştır. BCC modeli ile girdi yönelimli ve değişken getirili analizde dönem başında teknik etkinliğe sahip firma sayısı 20 iken dönem sonunda bu rakam 24’e çıkmaktadır. Pencere Analizi bulguları tüm firmaların dengeli bir ortalama verimlilik oranı ve benzer yapıda standart sapma değerlerine sahip olduklarını göstermektedir. Toplam Faktör Verimliliği için Malmquist Endeksi kullanılarak yıllar boyunca tüm işletmeler için Toplam Faktör Verimliliğinin sadece binde üç düzeyinde arttığı tespit edilmiştir., This study attempts to obtain Technical Efficiency (TE), Allocative Efficiency (AE) and Average Efficiency of dynamic DEA-Window analysis scores of 31 railway firms operating worldwide. The data set covering the period of 2000 to 2009 is analyzed by CCR and BCC methods. In the analysis conducted by use of the CCR model, while total 17 firms are efficient in the first year, this figure reaches to 18 firms for the last year with one increment. With input oriented and variable return analysis conducted by use of the BCC model, the firms having TE at the beginning of the period were 20 in number. At the end of the period, the figure reaches to 24. Window analysis suggests that all firms in general have stable average efficiency rate and inefficiencies of the firms and standard deviations of their efficiency scores exhibit a similar pattern. Malmquist Index (MI) analysis also suggests that Total Factor Productivity has increased by 0.03% for the entire period.

Bu çalışmada Türkiye’de 2003-2012 yılları arasında faaliyet gösteren 23 bankanın Veri Zarflama Analizi ile Teknik Etkinlik ve Tahsis Etkinliği skorları elde edilmiştir. CCR modeli ile yapılan analizde ilk yıl için toplam 3 firma teknik etkin değilken 2012 yılı için bu sayı iki katına çıkmıştır. Tahsis etkinliği için ilk yıl için sadece 5 firma etkin iken son yıl için bu sayı 4’e düşmüştür. BCC modeli ile girdi yönelimli ve değişken getirili analizde dönem başında sadece bir banka teknik etkinliğe sahip değilken dönem sonunda bu sayı 4’e çıkmaktadır. Tahsis etkinliği için bu sayı dönem başında 10 ve dönem sonunda 16 olarak çıkmaktadır. Bankaların etkinliğine çıktıların etkisini belirlemek amacı ile Rastgele Etkiler Panel Regresyon modeli ile yapılan tahminde CCR modelinin daha anlamlı olduğu görülmüştür. Toplam Faktör Verimliliği için Malmquist Endeksi kullanılarak yıllar boyunca tüm işletmeler için Toplam Faktör Verimliliğinin sadece binde iki düzeyinde arttığı tespit edilmiştir., In this study, the Technical Efficiency and the Allocative Efficiency Scores of 23 commercial banks operating in Turkey between 2003 and 2012 were obtained by use of the Data Envelopment Analysis. In the CCR model analysis; while 3 banks did not have Technical Efficiency for the first years, this number doubles for 2012. Whereas only 5 banks were efficient in terms of Allocative Efficiency for the first year, this number goes down to 4 in the last year. As a result of the BCC model; while only one bank did not have Technical Efficiency at the beginning of the period, this number quadruples at the end of the period. This number for the Allocative Efficiency is 10 at the beginning of the period and 16 at the end of the period. Considering the CCR model, it is more significant in the estimation by using the panel data regression model in order to determine the effect of the outputs on the efficiency of the banks. The Malmquist Index is used for the Total Factor Productivity and it was found out that the productivity increased only at the rate of two thousandth (0.002) for all the enterprises for the period.

The aim of this study is to analyze the factors that determine the level of welfare of the welfare of the women in the three cities of Turkey (Adıyaman, Isparta, Kocaeli) that have different climate, cultural structure and level of development. In this study, a new questionnaire consisting of 36 questions has been developed by the help of the life satisfaction surveys of TUIK and it has been used as an indicator of welfare. The study consists of 2912 samples. The factors that determine the welfare are analyzed by the Logistic Regression Method across both the city and the whole. Çalışmada Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu(TÜIK) tarafından hazırlanan yaşam memnuniyeti araştırmalarında da yararlanılarak 36 sorudan oluşan yeni bir anket hazırlanmış, yaşam memnuniyetini belirleyen faktörler Logistik Regresyon yöntemiyle hem il bazında hem de bütün olarak analiz edilmiştir. Örneklem seti bir bütün olarak ele alındığında, sigorta güvencesinin sağlık masraflarını karşılama derecesi, sağlık durumu, doktora gitme sıklığı, kadının mutluluğu ve ülkenin sevilen özellikleri değişkenlerinin kadınların yaşam memnuniyetini pozitif yönde etkilediği ve sağlığa zararlı alışkanlıklara sahip olma, hastalandıktan sonra doktora gitme süresi, başka bir ülkede yaşama isteği değişkenlerinin kadınların yaşam memnuniyetini negatif yönde etkilediği bulgusuna ulaşılmıştır.

The aim of this study is to determine the common features of SMEs in Diyarbakır and their problems and provide offers for the solution of these problems. A survey study was carried out with managers of 210 SMEs. According to results of the study, the basic problems of enterprises are insufficient qualified employee, capital insufficiency, difficulties in obtaining loan. Although firms state that they are not able to make use of support and incentives provided for them adequately, and not quite aware of opportunities provided for them, Bu çalışmanın amacı Diyarbakır’da yer alan KOBİ’lerin ortak özelliklerini ve karşılaştıkları sorunları tespit etmek ve bu sorunların çözümüne yönelik öneriler sunmaktır. Bu bağlamda 210 KOBİ sahibine anket uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre nitelikli eleman yetersizliği, sermaye yetersizliği ve kredi teminindeki güçlükler işletmelerin karşılaştıkları temel sorunlardır. Firmalar destek ve teşviklerden yeterince yararlanamadıklarını belirtmekle birlikte kendilerine sunulan imkânların çoğundan da haberdar değildir

Bu çalışmada, Türkiye’nin 1987(1)-2000(4) dönemine ait ithalat talebinin uzun dönem seyri ele alınmaktadır. Ekonomide ithal edilebilir mallar, dış ticarete konu olan ticari mallar ve dış ticarete konu olmayan mallar olarak üç sektör bulunmaktadır. İthalat talebinin GSYİH, ticari mallar ve dış ticarete konu olmayan malların fiyat endeksleri ile ilişkisi incelenmektedir. İthalat talebinin bu değişkenlerle uzun dönem ilişkisini ortaya koymak amacıyla koentegrasyon analizi yapılmaktadır. Koentegrasyon analizi için değişkenlerin durağanlık testleri yapılmış ve uygun VAR modeli seçilerek koentegre vektörlerin varlığı için koentegrasyon testi yapılmıştır. Ayrıca ithalat talebinin kısa dönem tahmini FIML yöntemi kullanılarak elde edilmektedir. Sonuçta, Türkiye’nin uzun dönemde ithal mallarının yerine ikame edilecek malların rekabet gücünün olup olmadığı değerlendirilmektedir.

Bu çalışmada Kayseri, Sivas ve Yozgat’ta 2000-2006 döneminde il sınırları içinde meydana gelen ölümcül ve yaralamalı trafik kazalarının analizi yapılmıştır. Bu amaçla her ilden yaklaşık 700’er adet olmak üzere toplam 2130’a yakın kaza tutanakları incelenmiştir. Kaza tutanaklarından elde edilen verilerin önce sıklık ve tanımlamalı istatistikleri çıkartılmış daha sonra il dikkate alınmayarak verilerin tamamı lojistik regresyon analizine tabi tutulmuştur. Trafik kazalarının sonucu yaralanmalı ve ölümlü şeklinde cevap değişkeni iki şıklı ele alınmıştır. Trafik kazalarında kusur sıralaması arttıkça bahis oranının arttığı, birinci araç ve ikinci araç sürücülerinin trafik kazası sonucunda ölümle bitmesi durumunda sürücü dışındaki yolcuların daha az öldüğü ve daha çok yaralandığı, bölünmemiş yolların bölünmüş yollara göre ölümle sonuçlanan trafik kazalarını arttırdığı ve en fazla kazalarını Kayseri ilinde olduğu diğer illere doğru log bahis oranının azaldığı görülmüştür., In this study, traffic accidents resulted in fatality and injury occurred within the city limits of Kayseri, Sivas and Yozgat during the time period 2000-2006 were analysed. In order to do this, approximately 2130 traffic accident reports examined where each city contributed nearly 700 reports to the examination. First of all, descriptive statistics of the data collected from traffic accident reports were calculated. Subsequently, without taking into account city variable, logistic regression analyses were applied to the whole data. In addition, the consequence of traffic accident variable was defined as dichotomous (injury-resulted and fatal accidents). In traffic accidents, it was found that when fault-order raised, the odds ratio increased. Moreover, if an accident resulted both drivers were death, it was indicated that the number of death passengers apart from drivers declined while the number of injured passengers went up. With regard to the effect of types of roads on accidents, the number of fatal accidents in single carriageways was found to be higher than in dual carriageways. Finally, by far the highest number of fatal accidents was seen in Kayseri and the log odds ratio went down through other cities.

In this study, the number of tourist visiting Turkey between 1964-2007 and factors affecting that number is scrutinized. The number of tourists visiting Turkey is forecasted by ARMA method. Then, relationship between the number of tourists and other variables have been examined with VAR models. For this purpose, the techniques of coentegration and error correction are used. The long run relationship of tourism revenues with the number of incoming and outgoing tourists, and GNP has been found, Bu çalışmada Türkiye’ye 1964-2007 yılları arasında gelen turist sayısı ve bunu etkileyen değişkelerle ilişki ele alınmıştır. Çalışmada ülkeye gele turistlerle ilgili ARMA tahmini yapılmıştır. Daha sonra VAR modelleri kullanılarak turist sayısının diğer değişkelerle ilişkisi analiz edilmiştir. Bunu için koentegrasyon (eşbütünleme) tekniği ve hata düzeltme modellerinden yararlanılmıştır. Turizm gelirlerinin, gelen turist sayısı, yurt dışına giden turist sayısı ile GSMH arasındaki uzun dönem ilişkisinin varlığı, yapılan çalışmada tespit edilmiştir

Bu çalışmada öncelikle T.C. Devlet Demiryollarının karar veren birimler şeklinde ele alınan yedi bölgesinin veri zarflama analizi kullanılarak 2000-2010 dönemindeki etkinlik skorları incelenmiştir. Daha sonra Malmquist endeksi kullanılarak toplam faktör verimlilikleri tespit edilmiştir. Analizde, toplam personel sayısı, elektrikli anahat uzunluğu, elektriksiz anahat uzunluğu ve yıllık toplam lokomotif çalışma saati girdi olarak, km başına yolcu ham ton ve km başına yük ham ton da çıktı olarak listelenmektedir. Çalışmada 3 değişkenli girdi ve çıktı yönelimli etkinlik analizleri de yapılmıştır. Girdi yönelimli analizde toplam anahat uzunluğu girdi değişkeni olarak kullanılmıştır. Yapılan analizlerde CCR modeline göre İzmir, Sivas’ın en düşük veremliliğe, BCC modeline göre Sivas ve Adanan Bölgesinin en düşük verimlilik skorlarına sahip olduklarını tespit edilmiştir. Buna karşın Haydarpaşa ve Ankara’nın tüm dönemler boyunca sürekli etkinliğe sahip oldukları görülmüştür., This paper attempts to measure the performance of Turkish Railways’ 7 regional headquarters that produce passenger and freight services around the country. The data covering eleven years from 2000 to 2010 is analyzed via the DEA method for the purpose of the study. To find out the efficiency scores of the regional decision making units, inputs contain number of employees, length electrified main line, length of non-electrified main line, and amount of working hours of locomotives while outputs contain passenger gross ton per kilometer and cargo gross ton per kilometer. After generating the efficiency scores, total factor productivity is investigated by Malmquist Index. The findings indicate that according to constant returns to scale distance functions, Izmir and Sivas have lowest efficiency scores while according to variable returns to scale distance functions Sivas and Adana have the lowest scores. Haydarpasa and Ankara always have high efficiency scores.

This research handles the efficiency of 25 municipalities with Malmquist technique in the period that contains 2006-2008 years. Seven of these civil governments are metropolitan municipality. In the conclusion, It was seen that all these municipalities had poorness caused by technical efficiency. The reason why averege Total factor productivity is below the unit value is the Technical Change value. Except for two of these, it is seen that total efficiency of all other municipalities has decreased., Bu çalışma, Türkiye’nin 2006-2008 yıllarını kapsayan dönemde 25 belediyenin etkinliğini Malmquist Endeksi tekniğiyle ele almaktadır. Bu belediyelerin yedi tanesi büyükşehir belediyesidir. Elde edilen sonuçlarda, tüm belediyelerin teknik etkinlikten kaynaklanan verimsizliğe sahip oldukları görülmüştür. Ortalama Toplam Faktör Verimliliği değerinin, birim değerin altında yer almasının en önemli nedeni, Teknik etkinlik değişimi değeridir. Bireysel olarak iki tanesi hariç, tüm diğer belediyelerin, verilen sürede toplam etkinliğin azaldığı görülmektedir.

European Conference on Intellectual Capital -- APR 28-29, 2009 -- INHolland Univ Appl Sci, Haarlem, NETHERLANDS, WOS: 000281045000022, Perceived as a factor that influences the efficiency and effectiveness of key production factors in the process of economic development, social capital is defined in this study as the set of social relations that enable entrepreneurs to gain access to economic resources. The study presents findings from a sample survey carried among owners or managers of manufacturing small and medium sized enterprises (SME's) in Sivas, a province located in a rather less developed region of Turkey. In the World Value's Studies, Turkey is generally portrayed as one of the countries with a relatively low general trust. Given that there are almost no attempts to analyse its consequences at national and regional level, this study attempts to fill in this gap. Trying to find out what role social capital plays in SME's performance and which form of social capital (bonding or bridging) is much more relevant, particular focus is on how trust and business networks play a part in this performance enhancement process. In accordance with the above mentioned conceptual framework on social capital, we have used two sets of variables the first one aiming at measuring the tendencies of trusting behaviour among entrepreneurs, namely trust levels, norms and network, which we called the "potential social capital". On the other hand, the second set of variables which represents the economic effects of social capital and is called as "actual social capital" aims to measure what entrepreneurs actually do in terms of investing in networks or cooperate. These include positive benefits such as reduction in transaction costs, the extent of collective action and learning spin-offs. Trust levels are found to be generally low, institutional trust being the lowest, although most of the trust-supporting social mechanisms (such as norms and sanctions relating to cheating, business reputation etc.) do exist. In their economic transactions most of the entrepreneurs seem to be not depending on their close and strong ties. Most of the firms exhibit high transaction costs, low levels of cooperation with other firms in the industry, and rarely benefit from contributions of others including governmental supporting bodies and business associations. Our findings suggest that firms that enjoy higher levels of collective action and learning also perform better.
