22. Preparation of MAZ-Type Zeolite with High Silica.

Abstract

The Si/Al molar ratio of MAZ aluminosilicate zeolite prepared by the direct hydrothermal method is generally less than five, thus giving rise to poor thermal and hydrothermal stability for this low-silica zeolite. With the purpose of enhancing the Si/Al molar ratio of MAZ zeolite, post-synthesized methods including acetic acid treatment and steaming treatment, as well as interzeolite transformation from FAU zeolite, were employed to prepare MAZ zeolite with high silica. It was found that steaming treatment was more effective in increasing the Si/Al molar ratio in comparison with acetic acid treatment, affording a maximum Si/Al molar ratio of 16.9 along with a preserved crystallinity of approximately 75%. Additionally, high-silica MAZ zeolite with a Si/Al molar ratio of up to 7.3 was also capable of being directly hydrothermally synthesized using interzeolite transformation from FAU zeolite. 33. Aerobic Oxidation of 5‐Hydroxymethylfurfural via Hydrogen Bonds Reconstruction with Ternary Deep Eutectic Solvents.

Abstract

Hydrogen bonding effect exists widely in various chemical and biochemical systems, primarily stabilizing the molecular structure as a positive factor. However, the presence of intermolecular hydrogen bonds among biomass molecules results in a formidable challenge for the efficient utilization of biomass resources. Here in, a novel strategy of "hydrogen bonds reconstruction" was developed by a series of ternary deep eutectic solvent (DESs) as molecular scissors, which disrupting the initial intermolecular hydrogen bonds and reconstructing the new ones to increase the reactivity of the biomass‐based compound. The DESs played a crucial role in enhancing the reactivity of 5‐hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) and promoting its oxidation through reconstructing the hydrogen bonds interactions. Furthermore, DESs was also found to activate the Anderson‐type catalyst Na5IMo6O24 (IMo6) through an electron‐transfer mechanism, which facilitated the generation of oxygen vacancies and significantly enhances its ability to activate molecular oxygen. With this novel catalytic system, oxidation of HMF exhibited remarkable efficiency as HMF was almost entirely converted into FFCA with an impressive yield of 98 % under the optimized conditions. Abstract

Oxidative desulfurization is an appealing alternative technology to eliminate organic sulfides in fuel oil in response to environmental and economic requirements. The supported metal oxide catalysts generally possess low catalytic activity and/or deactivation due to the loss and sintering of their metal oxides during the reaction or removal of carbon deposition at elevated temperature. In this work, beta zeolite-fixed MoO3 (MoO3@beta) was hydrothermally synthesized via structural reconstruction. A series of characterizations confirmed that MoO3 nanoparticles with an ultrasmall crystal size of 1.5–2.5 nm were fixed into the beta zeolite. Owing to the small particle size of MoO3, the MoO3@beta material exhibited nearly three times higher catalytic activity, weight-based space–time-yield, and active site-based turnover frequency than an impregnated MoO3/beta sample with MoO3 in an extra-framework position during the process of oxidative desulfurization with the oxidant H2O2. As for the oxidant molecular O2, MoO3@beta also possessed superior catalytic activity in a deep eutectic solvent under mild reaction conditions of 90 °C and ambient pressure, regardless of the model oil or actual fuel oil. Besides, excellent reusability was observed for the MoO3@beta catalyst via the elimination of carbon deposition through simple calcination, resulting from its unique feature to resist the loss and sintering of MoO3 fixed in the zeolite. More importantly, the catalytic mechanism of MoO3@beta was also revealed. This work opens a new avenue for effectively synthesizing zeolite-fixed metal oxide and establishing a green heterogeneous reaction system for catalytic oxidations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
