1. Global carbon uptake of cement carbonation accounts 1930–2021

Abstract: The main contributor to the greenhouse gas (GHG) footprint of the cement industry is the decomposition of alkaline carbonates during clinker production. However, systematic accounts for the reverse of this process – namely carbonation of calcium oxide and other alkaline oxides and/or hydroxides within cement materials during cements' life cycles – have only recently been undertaken. Here, adopting a comprehensive analytical model, we provide the most updated estimates of CO2 uptake by cement carbonation. The accumulated amount of global CO2 uptake by cements produced from 1930 to 2021 is estimated to be 22.9 Gt CO2 (95 % confidence interval, CI: 19.6–26.6 Gt CO2). This amount includes the CO2 uptake by concrete, mortar, construction waste and kiln dust, accounting for 30.1 %, 58.5 %, 4.0 % and 7.1 % respectively. The cumulative carbon uptake by cement materials from 1930 to 2021 offsets 55.1 % of the emissions from cement production (41.6 Gt CO2, 95 % CI: 38.7–47.2 Gt CO2) over the same period, with the greater part coming from mortar (58.5 % of the total uptake). China has the highest cement carbon uptake, with cumulative carbonation of 7.06 Gt CO2 (95 % CI: 5.22–9.44 Gt CO2) since 1930. In addition, the carbon uptake amounts of the USA, EU, India and the rest of the world took 5.0 %, 23.2 %, 5.6 % and 34.8 % separately. As a result of rapidly increased production in recent years, over three-quarters of the cement carbon uptake has occurred since 1990. Additionally, our results show little impact by the COVID-19 pandemic on cement production and use, with carbon uptake reaching about 0.92 Gt CO2 (95 % CI: 0.78–1.10 Gt CO2) in 2020 and 0.96 Gt CO2 (95 % CI: 0.81–1.15 Gt CO2) in 2021. Our uniformly formatted and most updated cement uptake inventories provide coherent data-based support for including cement carbon uptake into future carbon budgets from the local to global scale. The latest version contains the uptake data till 2021, showing the global uptake's increasing pattern and offering more usable and relevant data for evaluating cement's carbon uptake capacity. 2. An investigation of the global uptake of CO2 by lime from 1930 to 2020

Abstract: A substantial amount of CO2 is released into the atmosphere from the process of the high-temperature decomposition of limestone to produce lime. However, during the lifecycle of lime production, the alkaline components of lime will continuously absorb CO2 from the atmosphere during use and waste disposal. Here, we adopt an analytical model describing the carbonation process to obtain regional and global estimates of carbon uptake from 1930 to 2020 using lime lifecycle use-based material data. The results reveal that the global uptake of CO2 by lime increased from 9.16 Mt C yr−1 (95 % confidence interval, CI: 1.84–18.76 Mt C) in 1930 to 34.84 Mt C yr−1 (95 % CI: 23.50–49.81 Mt C) in 2020. Cumulatively, approximately 1444.70 Mt C (95 % CI: 1016.24–1961.05 Mt C) was sequestered by lime produced between 1930 and 2020, corresponding to 38.83 % of the process emissions during the same period, mainly contributed from the utilization stage (76.21 % of the total uptake). We also fitted the missing lime output data of China from 1930 to 2001, thus compensating for the lack of China's lime production (cumulative 7023.30 Mt) and underestimation of its carbon uptake (467.85 Mt C) in the international data. Since 1930, lime-based materials in China have accounted for the largest proportion (about 63.95 %) of the global total. Our results provide data to support including lime carbon uptake into global carbon budgets and scientific proof for further research of the potential of lime-containing materials in carbon capture and storage. 3. ANALYSIS OF THE ATTACKER AND DEFENDER GAN MODELS FOR THE INDOOR NAVIGATION NETWORK

Abstract: Evacuation research relies heavily on the efficiency analysis of the study navigation networks, and this principle also applies to indoor scenarios. One crucial type of these scenarios is the attacker and defender topic, which discusses the paralyzing and recovering operations for a specific indoor navigation network. Our approach is to apply the Generative-Adversarial-Neural network (GAN) model to optimize both reduction and increase operations for a specific indoor navigation network. In other words, the proposed model utilizes GAN both in the attacking behavior efficiency analysis and the recovering behavior efficiency analysis. To this purpose, we design a black box of training the generative model and adversarial model to construct the hidden neural networks to mimic the human selection of choosing the critical nodes in the studying navigation networks. The experiment shows that the proposed model could alleviate the selection of nodes that significantly influence network transportation efficiency. Therefore, we could apply this model to disaster responding scenarios like fire evacuation and communication network recovery operations.

4. A LANDMARK MATCHING ALGORITHM FOR THE GEOSTATIONARY SATELLITE IMAGES BASED ON MULTI-LEVEL GRIDS

Abstract: The resolution of geostationary satellite image is not high and the image is covered with clouds. At present, when the extracted feature points are unstable, there are some problems, such as low matching accuracy or even matching failure. In this paper, a landmark matching algorithm is proposed to directly establish the multi-level grids for the image coastline and the coastline template. Through the similarity measure of the multi-level grids, the landmark matching is realized layer by layer. First of all, we've finished cloud detection, establishment of landmark data set, and extraction of image coastline. Then we design and implement the landmark matching algorithm based on multi-level grids. Finally, through analysis from different levels of landmarks and different proportion of cloud cover, the advantages and applicable conditions of this algorithm are given. The experimental results show that: 1) with the increase of cloud cover, the correct rate of landmark matching decreases, but the decrease is small. It shows that the matching algorithm in this paper is stable. Correct matching rate could always be stable at about 75 percent in the fourth level. 2) when the proportion of cloud cover is less than 20 percent, the higher the matching level, the higher the matching accuracy. When the cloud cover is more than 20 percent, the matching accuracy in the fourth level is the highest. This algorithm provides a stable method for the landmark matching of geostationary satellite image.

5. A FASTER R-CNN APPROACH FOR EXTRACTING INDOOR NAVIGATION GRAPH FROM BUILDING DESIGNS

Abstract: The indoor navigation graph is crucial for emergency evacuation and route guidance. However, most of existing solutions are limited to the tedious manual solutions and inefficient automatic solutions of the indoor building designs. In this paper, we strive to combine the cutting-edge faster R-CNN deep learning models with spatial connection rules to provide fine quality indoor navigation graphs. The extraction experiment result is convincing for general navigation purpose. But there exist several shortages for faster R-CNN models to overcome, such as optimizations of the complex object detections and ability of handling irregular shape regions for indoor navigation graph extractions.

6. Geology datasets in North America, Greenland and surrounding areas for use with ice sheet models

Abstract: The ice–substrate interface is an important boundary condition for ice sheet modelling. The substrate affects the ice sheet by allowing sliding through sediment deformation and accommodating the storage and drainage of subglacial water. We present three datasets on a 1 : 5 000 000 scale with different geological parameters for the region that was covered by the ice sheets in North America, including Greenland and Iceland. The first dataset includes the distribution of surficial sediments, which is separated into continuous, discontinuous and predominantly rock categories. The second dataset includes sediment grain size properties, which is divided into three classes: clay, silt and sand, based on the dominant grain size of the fine fraction of the glacial sediments. The third dataset is the generalized bedrock geology. We demonstrate the utility of these datasets for governing ice sheet dynamics by using an ice sheet model with a simulation that extends through the last glacial cycle. In order to demonstrate the importance of the basal boundary conditions for ice sheet modelling, we changed the shear friction angle to account for a weaker substrate and found changes up to 40 % in ice thickness compared to a reference run. Although incorporation of the ice–bed boundary remains model dependent, our dataset provides an observational baseline for improving a critical weakness in current ice sheet modelling (https://doi.org/10.1594/PANGAEA.895889, Gowan et al., 2018b).

7. A DEEP LEARNING STUDY OF EXTRACTING NAVIGATION AREA FROM CAD BLUEPRINTS

Abstract: Deep learning technology is a cutting edge topic of AI region, and draws more attention from photogrammetry and remote sensing society. In this study, we strive to combine deep learning with CAD designs to extract navigation area (room). To this, we mark more than 200 2D building blueprint in CAD forms to construct the learning set to train object detection model based on TensorFlow. This model is the faster R-CNN inception v2 model from COCO dataset. The test and result section is composed of three parts: First part demonstrates the model performance on learning dataset; second part applies the generated model to extract rooms from untrained raw CAD blueprints; Third part covers the comparison between deep learning extracted result and geometric based algorithm extracted result. Test result shows that the deep learning approach could achieve higher accuracy than geometric approach under regular shape situations. In conclusion, we have proposed a well-trained deep learning model that could be utilized to construct a schema of the navigation area for 2D CAD blueprints.

Abstract: Abstract Using e + e − annihilation data sets corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.5 fb −1, collected with the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.600 and 4.699 GeV, we report the first measurements of the absolute branching fractions B Λ c + → p K L 0 $$ \mathcal{B}\left({\Lambda}_c^{+}\to p{K}_L^0\right) $$ = (1.67 ± 0.06 ± 0.04)%, B Λ c + → p K L 0 π + π − $$ \mathcal{B}\left({\Lambda}_c^{+}\to p{K}_L^0{\pi}^{+}{\pi}^{-}\right) $$ = (1.69 ± 0.10 ± 0.05)%, and B Λ c + → p K L 0 π 0 $$ \mathcal{B}\left({\Lambda}_c^{+}\to p{K}_L^0{\pi}^0\right) $$ = (2.02 ± 0.13 ± 0.05)%, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. Combining with the known branching fractions of Λ c + → p K S 0 $$ {\Lambda}_c^{+}\to p{K}_S^0 $$ , Λ c + → p K S 0 π + π − $$ {\Lambda}_c^{+}\to p{K}_S^0{\pi}^{+}{\pi}^{-} $$ , and Λ c + → p K S 0 π 0 $$ {\Lambda}_c^{+}\to p{K}_S^0{\pi}^0 $$ , we present the first measurements of the K S 0 $$ {K}_S^0 $$ - K L 0 $$ {K}_L^0 $$ asymmetries R Λ c + K S , L 0 X = B Λ c + → K S 0 X − B Λ c + → K L 0 X B Λ c + → K S 0 X + B Λ c + → K L 0 X $$ R\left({\Lambda}_c^{+},{K}_{S,L}^0X\right)=\frac{\mathcal{B}\left({\Lambda}_c^{+}\to {K}_S^0X\right)-\mathcal{B}\left({\Lambda}_c^{+}\to {K}_L^0X\right)}{\mathcal{B}\left({\Lambda}_c^{+}\to {K}_S^0X\right)+\mathcal{B}\left({\Lambda}_c^{+}\to {K}_L^0X\right)} $$ in charmed baryon decays: R Λ c + p K S , L 0 = − 0.025 ± 0.031 $$ R\left({\Lambda}_c^{+},p{K}_{S,L}^0\right)=-0.025\pm 0.031 $$ , R Λ c + p K S , L 0 π + π − = − 0.027 ± 0.048 $$ R\left({\Lambda}_c^{+},p{K}_{S,L}^0{\pi}^{+}{\pi}^{-}\right)=-0.027\pm 0.048 $$ and R Λ c + p K S , L 0 π 0 = − 0.015 ± 0.046 $$ R\left({\Lambda}_c^{+},p{K}_{S,L}^0{\pi}^0\right)=-0.015\pm 0.046 $$ . No significant asymmetries with statistical significance are observed.

Abstract: Abstract The processes h c → γP (P = η′, η, π 0) are studied with a sample of (27.12 ± 0.14) × 108 ψ(3686) events collected by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The decay h c → γη is observed for the first time with the significance of 9.0 σ, and the branching fraction is determined to be (3.77 ± 0.55 ± 0.13 ± 0.26) × 10 −4, while B $$ \mathcal{B} $$ (h c → γη′) is measured to be (1.40 ± 0.11 ± 0.04 ± 0.10) × 10 −3, where the first uncertainties are statistical, the second systematic, and the third from the branching fraction of ψ(3686) → π 0 h c . The combination of these results allows for a precise determination of R h c = B h c → γη B h c → γ η ′ , $$ {R}_{h_c}=\frac{\mathcal{B}\left({h}_c\to {\pi}^0\gamma \eta \right)}{\mathcal{B}\left({h}_c\to {\pi}^0\gamma {\eta}^{\prime}\right)}, $$ which is calculated to be (27.0 ± 4.4 ± 1.0)%. The results are valuable for gaining a deeper understanding of η − η′ mixing, and its manifestation within quantum chromodynamics. No significant signal is found for the decay h c → γπ 0, and an upper limit is placed on its branching fraction of B $$ \mathcal{B} $$ (h c → γπ 0) < 5.0 × 10 −5, at the 90% confidence level.

10. A SCHEMA FOR EXTRACTION OF INDOOR PEDESTRIAN NAVIGATION GRID NETWORK FROM FLOOR PLANS

Abstract: The requirement of the indoor navigation related tasks such emergency evacuation calls for efficient solutions for handling data sources. Therefore, the navigation grid extraction from existing floor plans draws attentions. To this, we have to thoroughly analyse the source data, such as Autocad dxf files. Then, we could establish a sounding navigation solution, which firstly complements the basic navigation rectangle boundaries, secondly subdivides these rectangles and finally generates accessible networks with these refined rectangles. Test files are introduced to validate the whole workflow and evaluate the solution performance. In conclusion, we have achieved the preliminary step of forming up accessible network from the navigation grids.

Abstract: Abstract Using e + e − collision data collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider at center-of-mass energies between 3.510 and 4.914 GeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 25 fb −1, we measure the Born cross sections for the process e + e − → K − Ξ ¯ + Λ / Σ 0 $$ {e}^{+}{e}^{-}\to {K}^{-}{\overline{\Xi}}^{+}\Lambda /{\Sigma}^0 $$ at thirty-five energy points with a partial-reconstruction strategy. By fitting the dressed cross sections of e + e − → K − Ξ ¯ + Λ / Σ 0 $$ {e}^{+}{e}^{-}\to {K}^{-}{\overline{\Xi}}^{+}\Lambda /{\Sigma}^0 $$ , evidence for ψ 4160 → K − Ξ ¯ + Λ $$ \psi (4160)\to {K}^{-}{\overline{\Xi}}^{+}\Lambda $$ is found for the first time with a significance of 4.4σ, including systematic uncertainties. No evidence for other possible resonances is found. In addition, the products of electronic partial width and branching fraction for all assumed resonances decaying into K − Ξ ¯ + Λ / Σ 0 $$ {K}^{-}{\overline{\Xi}}^{+}\Lambda /{\Sigma}^0 $$ are determined.

Abstract: Abstract With a sample of (10087 ± 44) × 106 J/ψ events accumulated with the BESIII detector, we analyze the decays η′ → π + π − l + l − (l = e, μ) via the process J/ψ → γη′. The branching fractions are measured to be B $$ \mathcal{B} $$ (η′ → π + π − e + e − ) = (2.45 ± 0.02(stat.) ± 0.08(syst.)) × 10 −3 and B $$ \mathcal{B} $$ (η′ → π + π − μ + μ − ) = (2.16 ± 0.12(stat.) ± 0.06(syst.)) × 10 −5, and the ratio is B η ′ → π + π − e + e − B η ′ → π + π − μ + μ − = 113.4 ± 0.9 stat . ± 3.7 syst . $$ \frac{\mathcal{B}\left({\eta}^{\prime}\to {\pi}^{+}{\pi}^{-}{e}^{+}{e}^{-}\right)}{\mathcal{B}\left({\eta}^{\prime}\to {\pi}^{+}{\pi}^{-}{\mu}^{+}{\mu}^{-}\right)}=113.4\pm 0.9\left(\textrm{stat}.\right)\pm 3.7\left(\textrm{syst}.\right) $$ . In addition, by combining the η′ → π + π − e + e − and η′ → π + π − μ + μ − decays, the slope parameter of the electromagnetic transition form factor is measured to be b η′ = 1.30 ± 0.19 (GeV/c 2) −2, which is consistent with previous measurements from BESIII and theoretical predictions from the VMD model. The asymmetry in the angle between the π + π − and l + l − decay planes, which has the potential to reveal the CP-violation originating from an unconventional electric dipole transition, is also investigated. The asymmetry parameters are determined to be A CP η ′ → π + π − e + e − = − 0.21 ± 0.73 stat . ± 0.01 syst . % $$ {\mathcal{A}}_{CP}\left({\eta}^{\prime}\to {\pi}^{+}{\pi}^{-}{e}^{+}{e}^{-}\right)=\left(-0.21\pm 0.73\left(\textrm{stat}.\right)\pm 0.01\left(\textrm{syst}.\right)\right)\% $$ and A CP η ′ → π + π − μ + μ − = 0.62 ± 4.71 stat . ± 0.08 syst . % $$ {\mathcal{A}}_{CP}\left({\eta}^{\prime}\to {\pi}^{+}{\pi}^{-}{\mu}^{+}{\mu}^{-}\right)=\left(0.62\pm 4.71\left(\textrm{stat}.\right)\pm 0.08\left(\textrm{syst}.\right)\right)\% $$ , implying that no evidence of CP-violation is observed at the present statistics. Finally, an axion-like particle is searched for via the decay η′ → π + π − a, a → e + e − , and upper limits of the branching fractions are presented for the mass assumptions of the axion-like particle in the range of 0 − 500 MeV/c 2.

Abstract: Abstract Using e + e − collision data collected at the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.128 and 4.226 GeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 7.33 fb −1, we determine the absolute branching fractions of fifteen hadronic D s + $$ {D}_s^{+} $$ decays with a double-tag technique. In particular, we make precise measurements of the branching fractions B D s + → K + K − π + = 5.49 ± 0.04 ± 0.07 % $$ \mathcal{B}\left({D}_s^{+}\to {K}^{+}{K}^{-}{\pi}^{+}\right)=\left(5.49\pm 0.04\pm 0.07\right)\% $$ , B D s + → K S 0 K + = 1.50 ± 0.01 ± 0.01 % $$ \mathcal{B}\left({D}_s^{+}\to {K}_S^0{K}^{+}\right)=\left(1.50\pm 0.01\pm 0.01\right)\% $$ and B D s + → K + K − π + π 0 = 5.50 ± 0.05 ± 0.11 % $$ \mathcal{B}\left({D}_s^{+}\to {K}^{+}{K}^{-}{\pi}^{+}{\pi}^0\right)=\left(5.50\pm 0.05\pm 0.11\right)\% $$ , where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second ones are systematic. The CP asymmetries in these decays are also measured and all are found to be compatible with zero.

Abstract: Abstract Using (27.12 ± 0.14) × 108 ψ(3686) events collected by the BESIII detector at the center-of-mass energy of s $$ \sqrt{s} $$ = 3.686 GeV, we search for the first time for two nonleptonic hyperon decays that change strangeness by two units, Ω − → Σ0 π − and Ω − → nK − . No significant signal is observed. The upper limits on their decay branching fractions are determined to be B $$ \mathcal{B} $$ (Ω − → Σ0 π − ) < 5.4 × 10 −4 and B $$ \mathcal{B} $$ (Ω − → nK − ) < 2.4 × 10 −4 at the 90% confidence level.

Abstract: Abstract Using 24.1 fb −1 of e + e − collision data collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, the Born cross sections and effective form factors of the e + e − → Σ + Σ ¯ − $$ {e}^{+}{e}^{-}\to {\Sigma}^{+}{\overline{\Sigma}}^{-} $$ reaction are measured. The measurements are performed at center-of-mass energies ranging from 3.510 to 4.951 GeV. No significant evidence for the decay of the charmonium(-like) states, ψ(3770), ψ(4040), ψ(4160), Y(4230), Y(4360), ψ(4415), and Y(4660), into a Σ + Σ ¯ − $$ {\Sigma}^{+}{\overline{\Sigma}}^{-} $$ final state is observed. Consequently, upper limits for the products of the branching fractions and the electronic partial widths at the 90% confidence level are reported for these decays.

Abstract: As the emergency evacuation research in large building area draws more attention than ever before, it is natural to fast acquire the navigation information for this purpose. Current solution for extracting human accessible area from existing data files consumes a significant amount of resource and time. Thus a better solution is required. We propose a semi-automatic plan, which introduces a conceptual model to extract and organize the accessible data of large building. This solution utilizes several spatial algorithms to extract detail traversing information from existing 3D building files and introduce spatial relationships to manage the extracted data.

Abstract: Abstract Using (27.12 ± 0.14) × 108 ψ(3686) events collected with the BESIII detector at BEPCII, the decay of ψ(3686) → Ω − K + Ξ ¯ 0 $$ {\varOmega}^{-}{K}^{+}{\overline{\Xi}}^0 $$ + c.c. is observed for the first time. The branching fraction of this decay is measured to be B ψ 3686 → Ω − K + Ξ ¯ 0 + c . c . $$ {\mathcal{B}}_{\psi (3686)\to {\varOmega}^{-}{K}^{+}{\overline{\Xi}}^0+\textrm{c}.\textrm{c}.} $$ = (2.78 ± 0.40 ± 0.18) × 10 −6, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. Possible baryon excited states are searched for in this decay, but no evident intermediate state is observed with the current sample size.

18. Detoxification of Jatropha curcas oil by ultraviolet irradiation combined with ethanol washing

Abstract: Jatropha curcas oil (JCO) is non-edible due to the content of phorbolesters (PEs) which are very toxic. The aim of this study was to evaluate the potential of JCO, treated by ultraviolet irradiation combined with ethanol washing, as an edible oil. The results showed that PEs can be significantly decreased by 100% (p < 0.05), but the treatments produced no significant changes (p < 0.05) in the fatty acids composition (FAC) and triacylglycerols (TAGs) in the detoxified Jatropha curcas oil (DJCO). In addition, the quality of DJCO was improved with enhanced DPPH radical scavenging. Therefore, DJCO with good quality will become a good resource for edible oil.

Abstract: Abstract Based on e + e − collision data collected at center-of-mass energies from 2.000 to 3.080 GeV by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, a partial wave analysis is performed for the process e + e − → K S 0 K L 0 $$ {K}_S^0{K}_L^0 $$ π 0. The results allow the Born cross sections of the process e + e − → K S 0 K L 0 $$ {K}_S^0{K}_L^0 $$ π 0, as well as its subprocesses e + e − → K ∗(892)0 K ¯ $$ \overline{K} $$ 0 and K 2 ∗ $$ {K}_2^{\ast } $$ (1430)0 K ¯ $$ \overline{K} $$ 0 to be measured. The Born cross sections for e + e − → K S 0 K L 0 $$ {K}_S^0{K}_L^0 $$ π 0 are consistent with previous measurements by BaBar, but with substantially improved precision. The Born cross section lineshape of the process e + e − K ∗(892)0 K ¯ $$ \overline{K} $$ 0 is consistent with a vector meson state around 2.2 GeV with a significance of 3.2σ. A Breit-Wigner fit determines its mass as M Y = (2164.7 ± 9.1 ± 3.1) MeV/c 2 and its width as Γ Y = (32.4 ± 21.0 ± 1.8) MeV.

Abstract: Patella sleeve fractures are rare injuries that occur in pediatric patients. For minimally displaced fractures, nonoperative treatment with immobilization is possible. When fractures are displaced, surgical repair is indicated. Previously described operative techniques include transosseous sutures and tension band wiring. We describe a surgical technique to repair distal pole and patella sleeve avulsion fractures in pediatric patients using intraosseous suture anchors with suture cerclage augmentation.

21. Influence of chemoradiation on the immune microenvironment of cervical cancer patients

Abstract: Purpose Cervical cancer remains a leading cause of cancer death in women. While immunotherapy has shown great success in combating cancer, the value of immunotherapy in cervical cancer is still only beginning to be explored. Thus, we performed a prospective analysis of patient blood and tumor samples at the beginning and end of conventional chemoradiation to assess changes in the immune cell and immunoreceptor compartments, and investigate if and when the addition of immunotherapy could be beneficial. Methods Patients with FIGO II–III cervical cancer receiving standard chemoradiation between January 2020 and December 2021 were included. We collected tumor and blood samples from patients before and at the end of therapy and analyzed immune cell composition and immune checkpoint receptor expression on both immune and tumor cells using multicolor flow cytometry. Results In all, 34 patients were eligible in the study period; 22 could be included and analyzed in this study. We found that chemoradiation significantly reduces T cell numbers in both tumors and blood, but increases macrophage and neutrophil numbers in tumors. Furthermore, we found that the percentage of immune checkpoint receptor PD‑1 and TIGIT-expressing cells in tumors was significantly reduced at the end of therapy and that CD4 and CD8 memory T cell populations were altered by chemoradiation. In addition, we observed that while PD-L1 expression intensity was upregulated by chemoradiation on blood CD8 cells, PD-L1 expression frequency and the expression intensity of antigen-presenting molecule MHC‑I were significantly reduced on tumor cells. Conclusion Our data demonstrate that chemoradiation significantly alters the immune cell composition of human cervical tumors and the expression of immune checkpoint receptors on both lymphocytes and tumor cells. As our results reveal that the percentage of PD‑1+ CD8 cells in the tumor as well as the frequency of PD-L1-expressing tumor cells were reduced at the end of therapy, neoadjuvant or simultaneous anti-PD‑1 or anti-PD-L1 treatment might provide better treatment efficiency in upcoming clinical studies.

26. Effects of plasma-induced grafting modification on the adhesive strength and mechanical properties of fiber posts

Abstract: This study aimed to assess the effects of plasma grafting modification on the micro-push-out adhesive strength and mechanical properties of fiber posts and to assess the stability of these treatment effects.Glass-fiber posts were divided into four groups based on the treatment methods used, as follows: (1) Group NT: no treatment; (2) Group PT: Helium (He) plasma treatment; (3) Group PIG: He-plasma-induced post-irradiation grafting; and (4) Group SIG: He-plasma-induced syn-irradiation grafting. The treated fiber posts were bonded using self-adhesive resin cement exposure to air for 0, 1, 6 or 12 hours separately after surface treatment. Micro-push-out adhesive strength, flexural modulus, and flexural strength were measured.Plasma treatment, post-irradiation grafting, and syn-irradiation grafting improved adhesive strength at the 0-hours level. However, the improved adhesive strength disappeared in group PT after exposure for one or more hours. In group PIG, the adhesive strength after 1-hour exposure was 20.5% lower than that of 0-hour exposure (adhesive immediately after treatment), and no statistically significant differences in adhesive strength were observed between the 1, 6, and 12-hour exposure. In group SIG, no statistically significant differences in adhesive strength were observed among the 0, 1, and 6-hour exposure. Although the adhesive strength was 23% lower at the 12-hour exposure than that of 0-hour exposure in group SIG, the adhesive strength of fiber posts received syn-irradiation grafting still presented the best adhesive strength compared with the other treatment methods. The three-point flexural modulus and strength remained unaffected by the treatment methods used.Plasma-induced syn-irradiation grafting provided the ideal improvement and stability in adhesive strength in fiber posts. In addition, plasma-induced grafting modification successfully overcame the surface aging effect caused by plasma treatment alone without affecting the bulk mechanical properties of fiber posts.

Abstract: Discoid meniscus is the most common congenital variant of the meniscus. Its variability in pathology leads to a spectrum of clinical presentations in patients. Treatment must be tailored to the specific pathology of the discoid meniscus. Imaging studies such as radiographs and magnetic resonance imaging can be useful in confirming the diagnosis, but may be the most accurate in determining specific pathology. Thorough intraoperative evaluation of the discoid is critical to appropriate surgical management. Rim preservation and repair is preferred to prevent degenerative changes in the knee.

Abstract: The aim of this study was to investigate the preventive effect of pancreatic duct stent on acute pancreatitis after endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography. A retrospective analysis of the case data of patients who first underwent endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography for choledocholithiasis in the Beijing Friendship Hospital from January 2015 to December 2019 for 5 years. According to whether the pancreatic duct stent was indwelled during the operation, they were divided into pancreatic duct stent group (147 cases) and non-indwelling pancreatic duct stent group (192 cases). The incidence of acute pancreatitis after endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography was compared between the two groups according to COTTON criteria. 36. Long‐term drought aggravates instability of alpine grassland productivity to extreme climatic event

Abstract: The frequency and severity of extreme weather events are increasing and expected to increase more in the future, together with global change. However, how extreme events and global change factors interactively influence community structures and ecosystem processes is largely unknown. Here, we investigated the responses of the temporal stability and resilience of aboveground net primary productivity (ANPP) of an alpine meadow to an extreme flooding event under different treatments of experimental drought and clipping. We found that ecosystems that were exposed to drought treatments for 3 years significantly decreased the temporal stability of community productivity but increased resilience to flooding, whereas their resistance to or recovery from flooding did not change. Neither clipping nor its interaction with drought altered the responses of these community stability metrics to flooding. Drought treatments significantly decreased plant species richness and asynchrony and dominant species stability, leading to a decrease in temporal stability and an increase in resilience in response to the extreme flooding event. The study also revealed that the change in species asynchrony was the dominant impact pathway determining the responses of resilience and temporal stability to flooding. Our results highlight that alpine grassland that experiences a multiyear drought may aggravate the instability of community productivity to extreme climatic events by reducing species asynchrony.

Abstract: 1. Mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG) causes severe lung inflammation and cell damage by activating toll-like receptor (TLR) signalling, the nuclear factor-kappaB (NF-κB) pathway and pro-inflammatory cytokine gene expression. Baicalin (BA) is a flavonoid extracted from Scutellaria baicalensis, which possesses anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. This study investigated the effect of BA in MG-induced lung inflammation and its potential mechanism in MG-infected chicken embryo lungs and DF-1 cells.2. The histopathological examination result showed that BA treatment alleviated MG-induced lung pathological changes. In addition, CCK-8 and cell cycle assays showed that BA treatment inhibited MG-induced cell proliferation and cell cycle progression in DF-1 cells.3. The ELISA and RT-qPCR results demonstrated that BA treatment decreased the expression of interleukin-1beta (IL-1β), IL-6, and tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) both in MG-infected chicken embryo lungs and DF-1 cells.4. The results revealed that BA inhibited mRNA expression levels of toll-like receptor-6 (TLR6), myeloid differentiation primary response gene-88 (MyD88) and nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB), and the nuclear translocation of NF-κB-p655. In conclusion, the results showed that BA has a protective effect against MG-induced lung inflammation in chicken by inhibiting the TLR6-mediated NF-κB signalling.

Abstract: The resolution of geostationary satellite image is not high and the image is covered with clouds. At present, when the extracted feature points are unstable, there are some problems, such as low matching accuracy or even matching failure. In this paper, a landmark matching algorithm is proposed to directly establish the multi-level grids for the image coastline and the coastline template. Through the similarity measure of the multi-level grids, the landmark matching is realized layer by layer. First of all, we've finished cloud detection, establishment of landmark data set, and extraction of image coastline. Then we design and implement the landmark matching algorithm based on multi-level grids. Finally, through analysis from different levels of landmarks and different proportion of cloud cover, the advantages and applicable conditions of this algorithm are given. The experimental results show that: 1) with the increase of cloud cover, the correct rate of landmark matching decreases, but the decrease is small. It shows that the matching algorithm in this paper is stable. Correct matching rate could always be stable at about 75 percent in the fourth level. 2) when the proportion of cloud cover is less than 20 percent, the higher the matching level, the higher the matching accuracy. When the cloud cover is more than 20 percent, the matching accuracy in the fourth level is the highest. This algorithm provides a stable method for the landmark matching of geostationary satellite image.

Abstract: Semi-brittle flow occurs when crystal plasticity and cataclastic mechanisms operate concurrently and may be common at mid-levels of the Earth’s crust. Using a Paterson gas-deformation apparatus, we performed 67 conventional triaxial deformation experiments on dry samples of Carrara marble in the temperature range of T = 20 - 800°C; confining pressures (PC) were 30, 50 100, 200, and 300 MPa, and strain rates (urn:x-wiley:21699313:media:jgrb55357:jgrb55357-math-0001) were 10-3, 10-4, 10-5, and 10-6 s-1. Axial strains (ε ) were ≲ 0.12. The measured (differential) stress, urn:x-wiley:21699313:media:jgrb55357:jgrb55357-math-0002, changes with strain at most applied conditions. At ε = 0.05, both stress and the hardening coefficient (h), i.e., the rate of increase of stress with strain, increase as T decreases and PC increases. At T ≲ 400°C, h is quite large and the sensitivity of urn:x-wiley:21699313:media:jgrb55357:jgrb55357-math-0003 on urn:x-wiley:21699313:media:jgrb55357:jgrb55357-math-0004 is low, while both are sensitive to increasing pressure. In this temperature range, the mechanical behavior of the marble is very similar to that exhibited by high-strength, high-ductility, hexagonal metals that deform by processes called twinning induced plasticity (TWIP). Twinning and dislocation motion are abundant in the samples, as are inter- and intra-crystalline micro-fractures. The concurrent activation of these deformation mechanisms leads to complex relationships of urn:x-wiley:21699313:media:jgrb55357:jgrb55357-math-0005 and h with the applied T- PC - urn:x-wiley:21699313:media:jgrb55357:jgrb55357-math-0006 conditions. This behavior suggests that peak stresses for calcite rocks deforming by semi-brittle processes will occur at PC - T conditions of the middle crust, and that they might be more strongly influenced by total strain rather than by strain rate.

Abstract: The clinical examination of the child or adolescent with a knee injury or pain can vary based on the age of the patient as well as the acuity of the problem. When pediatric patients present with thigh or vague knee pain, the importance of the hip examination cannot be overemphasized. Evaluating the uninjured extremity first is particularly valuable to building trust and confidence with a scared, nervous patient. Having the patient describe and point to locations of symptoms can assist in prioritizing physical exam maneuvers as creating pain through exam will limit later exam compliance. There are four primary elements of the exam: observation, palpation, static stability examination, and dynamic assessment. This review article will summarize physical exam techniques and pertinent findings for meniscus, ligament, and patellofemoral pathology.

Abstract: To analyse the clinicopathological features and ultrasound findings of the diffuse sclerosing variant of papillary thyroid carcinoma (DSV-PTC) and compare differences between children/adolescents (CAs) and adults.Medical records and ultrasound images of 97 consecutive DSV-PTC patients were reviewed and comparison was made between CAs and adults.The average age was 31.2 ± 12.4 years old and 16.5% patients were CAs. Unilateral lobe was involved in 40.2% patients and 69.1% combined with Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Up to 95.9% patients had lymph node metastasis (LNM). CAs had more contralateral central LNM (CCLNM) and contralateral lateral LNM (CLLNM) than adults (p=0.047, p=0.025). Lung metastasis was also more common in CAs (p=0.002). Involved lobes mostly appeared as diffuse heterogeneous echogenicity on ultrasonography with isoechogenicity as the most common predominant echo (48.4%). Diffuse microcalcifications were observed frequently with grade 2-3 accounting for 52.3%. Lesions involving the whole gland lobe (diffuse type) occurred in 63.9%. Blood flow was poor in 71.6% (with grade 0-1). Microcalcifications of both lobes and metastatic lymph nodes and lesions involving (diffuse type) were more common in CAs (p=0.038, 0.002; 0.011). Of 39 patients with unilateral lobe involvement, ultrasonic sensitivity for CCLNM and CLLNM was only 50% and 66.7% respectively.DSV-PTC has characteristic ultrasonographic findings. DSV-PTC of CAs may be more aggressive than that of adults. Ultrasonic sensitivity for LNM of contralateral compartments was not satisfactory and diagnostic methods with good efficacy are required.

Abstract: Evacuation research relies heavily on the efficiency analysis of the study navigation networks, and this principle also applies to indoor scenarios. One crucial type of these scenarios is the attacker and defender topic, which discusses the paralyzing and recovering operations for a specific indoor navigation network. Our approach is to apply the Generative-Adversarial-Neural network (GAN) model to optimize both reduction and increase operations for a specific indoor navigation network. In other words, the proposed model utilizes GAN both in the attacking behavior efficiency analysis and the recovering behavior efficiency analysis. To this purpose, we design a black box of training the generative model and adversarial model to construct the hidden neural networks to mimic the human selection of choosing the critical nodes in the studying navigation networks. The experiment shows that the proposed model could alleviate the selection of nodes that significantly influence network transportation efficiency. Therefore, we could apply this model to disaster responding scenarios like fire evacuation and communication network recovery operations.
