The use of skim milk is a strategy to increase goat milk yogurt acceptability. However, it can negatively affect yogurt rheology because fat plays a vital role in dairy structural integrity. Thus, this study aimed to investigate the effects of fat replacers on the rheological, physical, and sensory parameters of low-fat cupuassu goat milk yogurts during refrigerated storage (28 days). Five goat milk yogurts formulations were carried out: whole yogurt (WY), skim yogurt (SY), skim yogurt with inulin (SIY), skim yogurt with maltodextrin (SMY), and skim yogurt with whey protein (SWY). Treatments were subjected to bacterial counts, chemical composition, pH, water holding capacity, instrumental color and texture, rheological and sensory analyses. All samples showed reducing pH values, water holding capacity, and L* and b* value during storage. Regarding texture, the firmness and consistency decreased during storage. On the other hand, the viscosity index significantly increased during refrigerated storage time. Moreover, all treatments exhibited viscoelastic behaviour. In addition, SIY and SMY showed the highest apparent viscosity. Furthermore, SIY, SMY, and SWY formulations exhibited positive sensory scores for appearance, color, aroma, texture, and viscosity. However, the overall acceptability and purchase intention did not differ statistically between WY and the fat-replacement treatments (SIY, SMY, and SWY). These results indicate that fat substitutes improved the quality of skimmed formulations. Thus, inulin and maltodextrin have the potential as functional fat replaces to produce low-fat goat milk yogurts.

BK Polyomavirus (BKPyV) is an opportunistic pathogen that causes nephropathy in kidney transplant recipients. The BKPyV major capsid protein, VP1, engages gangliosides, lipid-linked sialylated glycans at the cell surface, to gain entry into cells. Here, we characterise the influence of VP1 mutations observed in patients with persistent post-transplant BKPyV replication on ganglioside binding, VP1 protein structure, and the tropism of the virus in two renal cell lines: 293TT and immortalised renal tubular epithelial (RS) cells. Infectious entry of single mutants E73Q, E73A and the triple mutant A72V-E73Q-E82Q (VQQ) remained sialic acid-dependent. These three variants acquired binding to a-series gangliosides, including GD1a, although only E73Q was able to infect GD1a-supplemented LNCaP or GM95 cells. Crystal structures of the three mutants showed a clear shift of the BC2 loop in mutants E73A and VQQ that correlated with the inability of these VP1 variants to infect ganglioside complemented cells. On the other hand, the double mutant K69N-E82Q lost the ability to bind sialic acid, with the K69N mutation leading to a steric clash which precludes sialic acid binding. Nevertheless, this mutant retained significant infectivity in 293TT cells that was not dependent on heparan sulphate proteoglycans, implying that an unknown sialic acid-independent entry receptor for BKPyV exists.

Oxygen permeability data is relevant for selecting wine bottles closures. Market available stoppers, two natural and eight microagglomerated corks, were analysed for the oxygen ingress over time in stoppered bottles, under different temperatures (8, 23, and 40 °C), with and without contact between cork and wine simulant. Weibull model described well the oxygen ingress. Differences were found between cork types in long-term oxygen pressure (Po) and ingress rates (τ). For microagglomerated corks, Po increased, and τ decreased with temperature, following the Arrhenius behaviour, with estimated activation energies of 15.3 and 35.2 kJ mol−1, respectively. Microagglomerated corks exhibited slower initial oxygen ingress but higher long-term oxygen ingress than natural corks. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) showed that factors related to the bottleneck-cork interface contributed more to the variance of the system than cork type. Liquid contact reduces oxygen ingress around five times. The temperature impact in the oxygen ingress was lower for natural corks.

A new procedure for the determination of biogenic amines (BAs), putrescine, cadaverine, spermidine, spermine and tyramine, based on the purification through precipitation and centrifugation of peptides in an acid extract from the sample is proposed. The novelty of the procedure in relation to the liquid-liquid purification reported in the literature is based on shortening the time of analysis and reducing BAs losses during sample preparation. The procedure permitted better precision, recovery, and sensibility, particularly in lower concentration levels, when compared to extraction without purification before derivatization. The method was applied to the simultaneous determination of the five aforementioned BAs in commercial yogurt samples by reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC). The procedure presented adjusted correlation coefficients between 0.980 and 0.997, and linear range in samples of 1–50 mg L−1 (cadaverine), 3–50 mg L−1 (putrescine, spermidine and spermine) and 5–50 mg L−1 (tyramine), with accuracy ranging from 67.81% to 142.78% in the limit of quantification (LOQ) and from 88.99% to 118.26% in other concentration levels. The limit of detection of BAs in yogurt samples was 0.18–4.01 mg L−1, while LOQ ranged between 1 and 5 mg L−1. The intraday relative standard deviation was ≤15.74% in LOQ and ≤10.05% in other concentration levels. The purification step by precipitation was fundamental to eliminate the interferences present in the yogurt samples, and it was relevant to increase the sensitivity of BAs detection when compared to liquid-liquid purification. Introduction: The Coronavirus belongs to a family of RNA viruses that can cause respiratory infection, with the possibility of gastrointestinal manifestations in approximately 5–50% of the cases. Objective: To report a surgical case with a diagnosis of COVID-19 that developed acute perforated abdomen and pneumothorax. Case report: This was an 80-year-old female patient with respiratory symptoms, with dry cough and fever and diffuse abdominal pain with signs of peritonitis. She had leukocytosis, kidney dysfunction and an increase in D-dimer with positive PCR for COVID. Computed tomography of the chest and abdomen showed pneumothorax on the right and extensive pneumoperitoneum. Conclusion: The presentation of COVID-19 with severe pulmonary and abdominal complications requires specialized and emergency treatments, but it has high mortality rates. Resumo: Introdução: O coronavírus pertence a uma família de vírus RNA que pode causar infecção respiratória com possibilidade de manifestações gastrintestinais em torno de 5% a 50% dos casos. Objetivo: Relatar caso operado com diagnóstico de COVID-19 e evolução com abdome agudo perfurativo e pneumotórax. Relato do caso: Paciente do sexo feminino de 80 anos com sintomas respiratórios com tosse seca e febre e dor abdominal difusa com sinais de peritonite. Apresentava leucocitose, disfunção renal e aumento de D-dímero com PCR positivo para COVID. Tomografia computadorizada de tórax e abdome demonstrando pneumotórax à direita e extenso pneumoperitônio. Conclusão: A apresentação do COVID-19 com sérias complicações pulmonar e abdominal requer tratamentos especializados e em regime de emergência, entretanto com altas taxas de mortalidade.

We report the synthesis of Sm doped magnetite (Fe 2.68 Sm 0.32 O 4 ) nanoparticles by using the polyol method. To protect the particles from oxidation we have used poly (N-vinilpyrrolidone) (PVP) polymer. The structural and magnetic properties were studied by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Mossbauer spectroscopy and DC magnetometry. The sample has a narrow distribution of particle sizes with a mean diameter of 5.2 nm. The nanoparticles have superparamagnetic behavior at room temperature with a mean blocking temperature at T B = 9.9 K and effective magnetocrystalline constant of 4 × 10 5 J/m 3 at 5 K. At room temperature, the M-H curve show anhysteretic behavior (Hc=0) and the Mossbauer spectrum has a single paramagnetic component, while at 5 K the saturation magnetization is of 18.9 emu/g and the field cooling M-H loop shows an exchange bias of − 110 Oe. The magnetic results are discussed in terms of the cation distribution in the inverse spinel lattice, as determined by Mossbauer spectroscopy, and from the lower magnetic contribution of a thin layer at the nanoparticles surface with enhanced magnetocrystalline anisotropy.

Monoethylene glycol (MEG) is used as hydrate inhibitor in natural gas exploitation. During the process, MEG mixed with produced water and salts must be regenerated. Therefore, salt solubility and physicochemical properties of MEG aqueous mixture with electrolytes are useful to operate the regeneration unit. This work determines density and electrical conductivity data at 298.15 K for water+MEG+CaCl2 systems. The density data were correlated applying the excess volume approach and Redlich Kister expansion, resulting absolute and relative mean deviations of 3 × 10–4 g‧cm–3 and 0.028%. For electrical conductivity correlation a semiempirical model was applied resulting absolute and relative mean deviations of 1.27 mS‧cm–1 and 3.53%. CaCl2 solubilities in water-MEG mixtures at 298.15 and 323.15 K were also measured. The proposed analytical method used precise density measurements to determine salt solubility. Moreover, the solid phase composition was determined by thermogravimetry analysis. Four different solid phases were identified as function of the solvent composition. At 298.15 K the addition of MEG changed the solid phase from CaCl2•4H2O to CaCl2•3H2O•MEG for w’MEG ≥0.36. Regarding 323.15 K, solid phase changed from CaCl2•2H2O to CaCl2•H2O•MEG for w’MEG≥0.30. Density, electrical conductivities and CaCl2 solubilities were accurately determined and are of interest to the natural gas industry.

An analytical method was developed and validated for the determination of maltodextrin in raw milk, using high-performance liquid chromatography with evaporative light scattering detection. Maltodextrin content was evaluated in adulterated raw milk using a Supelcosil LC-NH2 (25cm×4.6mm) column and isocratic elution (68% of acetonitrile). Validation parameters exhibited adequate linearity, with relative standard deviation values between 0.74 and 2.16% (n=10) for repeatability and 0.11-19.39% (n=5) for intermediate precision. Limits of detection and quantification were 0.78 and 1.56mg.mL(-1), respectively, and recovery rates were between 91 and 93% for three levels. The application of this method shows that maltodextrin concentrations found in adulterated samples are lower than expected, which may be related to the quality of the commercial maltodextrin used. The method proposed proved to be simple and appropriate for the determination of maltodextrin in raw milk, with detection down to adulteration levels of 1%.

Although the demand for goat milk products has been growing, they have lower consumer acceptability than products derived from cow milk. However, the addition of cupuassu pulp can be used to improve the formulation of these products. For this reason, the aim of this study was to investigate the influence of new goat milk yogurt manufactured with cupuassu pulp on physicochemical properties, consumers' perceptions, and overall consumer acceptance. In addition, the effect of antioxidant health information on consumer acceptance and purchase intention of cupuassu goat milk yogurts was evaluated. The results demonstrated a positive expectation regarding linking and familiarity to goat milk products and products with cupuassu pulp. The pH, total phenolic content, lightness, redness, yellowness, and apparent viscosity were potentially affected by the addition of cupuassu, with the highest concentration of cupuassu (10%) exhibiting the greatest changes in parameters. Based on principal component analysis, partial least squares regression, and just-about-right and penalty analysis, the addition of cupuassu pulp improved some sensory attributes of goat milk yogurt, such as cupuassu aroma, cupuassu flavor, yellow color, consistency, and viscosity, which positively influenced product acceptance. In addition, antioxidant health information increased the acceptance and purchase intention of cupuassu goat milk yogurts. Taking into account the parameters investigated in this study, the best scoring formulation was goat milk yogurt with 10% cupuassu pulp. Our results suggest that cupuassu pulp can be considered a potential ingredient to improve the sensory and texture properties of goat milk yogurt. Furthermore, the antioxidant health information could be a sensory strategy to increase the acceptance of cupuassu goat milk yogurts.

The purification of caprine milk oligosaccharides (COS) by membrane filtration has been hampered by the low concentration of target COS and high concentration of lactose. In addition, their molecular weight proximity hinders the recovery of a COS fraction with high degree of purity and recovery yield. In this work, the recovery of a high purity COS concentrate was obtained by the optimization of an integrated approach including complete lactose hydrolysis, fermentation of the resulting monosaccharides and nanofiltration. All carbohydrates were quantified using High Performance Anion Exchange Chromatography with Pulsed Amperometric Detection (HPAEC PAD). Defatted goat whey was ultrafiltered with discontinuous diafiltrations to increase the recovery of COS in the whey permeate which was then subsequently concentrated by nanofiltration. COS recovery yields of 75% with negligible amounts of monosaccharides (0.3% of the initial amount of lactose in the whey permeate) were achieved. A final retentate containing 67.6 and 34.4% of acidic and neutral oligosaccharides respectively was obtained from caprine milk.

The present study evaluated biogenic amine (BA) content during the fermentation period in functional sheep milk yogurts. Four treatments were prepared and assessed: natural (NSY), prebiotic (PreSY), probiotic (ProSY), and synbiotic (SynSY). Biogenic amines (putrescine, cadaverine, spermidine, spermine, and tyramine), proteolysis activity, and pH were measured during each hour of fermentation. Grumixama pulp was added to all formulations as a technological strategy and potential substrate for bacteria during fermentation. The yogurt and probiotic bacteria were viable (≥7 log cfu·mL-1) on d 0. The pH levels of the functional sheep milk yogurts had a more pronounced decrease than did the control of NSY. However, all yogurt samples underwent gradual decreases in pH until final fermentation. Proteolytic activity remained constant in all treatments during fermentation. The NSY, PreSY, ProSY, and SynSY presented the same behavior for all BA, with differences in concentration. Putrescine, cadaverine, and spermidine contents decreased, whereas spermine remained constant and tyramine increased. We conclude that fermentation of functional sheep milk yogurts can produce tyramine.

Thus, secondary control measures to prevent or reduce BAs formation in dairy products are urgently needed. However, additional scientific knowledge about the factors affecting BAs production and the interaction among them is currently necessary to achieve this goal. In this context, Partial Least Square with Variable Importance in Projection (PLS-VIP) analysis followed by cross-validation was applied to variables to investigate their interactive effect on BAs accumulation in cow's and goat's fermented milk during refrigerated storage. Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus acidophilus LA-5 increased tyramine and total BAs content in both cow's (CFM) and goat's (GFM) fermented milks. In CFM, Maillard reaction involving galactose and increased post acidification interacted to enhance accumulation of BAs (R2 = 0.895, P = 1.11 × 10−5); whereas for GFM, losses of consistency coefficient and viscosity were essential for BAs accumulation (R2 = 0.919; P = 2.72 × 10−6). These findings show that by preventing Maillard reaction and delaying post acidification in CFM, as well as by controlling viscosity in GFM, there can be mitigation of BAs formation during storage.

Scope The microorganisms that make up kefir grains are well known for lactose fermentation, but the extent to which they hydrolyze and consume milk proteins remains poorly understood. Peptidomics technologies were used to examine the proteolytic activity of kefir grains on bovine milk proteins. Methods and results Gel electrophoresis revealed substantial digestion of milk proteins by kefir grains, with mass spectrometric analysis showing the release of 609 protein fragments and alteration of the abundance of >1500 peptides that derived from 27 milk proteins. Kefir contained 25 peptides identified from the literature as having biological activity, including those with antihypertensive, antimicrobial, immunomodulatory, opioid and anti-oxidative functions. 16S rRNA and shotgun metagenomic sequencing identified the principle taxa in the culture as Lactobacillus species. Conclusion The model kefir sample contained thousands of protein fragments released in part by kefir microorganisms and in part by native milk proteases.

Physicochemical and microbiological changes in yogurts determine their storage and shelf life. Thus, monitoring yogurt quality is essential for consumer acceptance and food safety. However, traditional techniques of yogurt quality analysis are food-destructive, environment polluting, costly, and time-consuming. On the other hand, nondestructive techniques only measure a single quality property, not expressing the yogurt overall quality. In this study, predictive models validated by bootstrapping and cross-validation methods demonstrate the biogenic amine index (BAI) as a nondestructive monitoring system of overall quality during storage. The optical parameter was a strong nondestructive predictor of the BAI for both cow’s milk yogurt, CY (Rv = 0.944; p = 0.007), and goat’s milk yogurt, GY (Rv = 0.909; p = 0.009). The phosphorus content has significant effect on the steels quality and their applications. The iron ore resources around the world has continuously increased the amount of phosphorous due to the increase of the mining volume with less sterile generation aiming at the efficient utilization of the mining resources, as consequence larger amount of materials with high iron content but with higher phosphorous has been incorporated in the mining body. An alternative to enhance the mining efficiency is to perform a pre treatment of part of the mining body and subsequent blending to attain the acceptable phosphorous in the steelmaking. A viable alternative for reducing the phosphorus content of these residue is to use the acid leaching process which is considered an economical process for the dephosphorization of the iron ore, however, depending on the way the element phosphorus is contained in the ore it will demand additional energy. The objective of the present paper is to study the effective heating and cooling rates of iron ore using microwave energy and its subsequent cooling effect in a short period (thermal shock). Through the X-ray diffraction analysis and applying the Rietveld method it has been possible to demonstrate the mineralogical composition of the iron ore samples and the effect of rapid heating and cooling suitable to promote the fissure formation, thus enhancing the leaching efficiency. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to analyze the structure of ore due to the effect of its heating and cooling rates.

A major challenge in isolating oligosaccharides from dairy streams is to enrich oligosaccharides while simultaneously reducing the content of simple sugars (mono- and disaccharides) that do not possess the desired prebiotic functions. An integrated approach based on optimized conditions that favor maximum lactose hydrolysis, monosaccharide fermentation and oligosaccharides recovery by nanofiltration was developed. Upon complete lactose hydrolysis and fermentation of the monosaccharides by yeast, nanofiltration of fermented whey permeate from colostrum enabled the recovery of 95% of the oligosaccharides at high purity. While the number of commercially available standards has limited the quantification of only a few sialylated oligosaccharides, the application of both high performance anion-exchange chromatography with pulsed amperometric detection and mass spectrometry provided a complete profile of the final product. Approximately 85% of the oligosaccharides in the final concentrate were sialylated, with the remainder being neutral.

Enzymatic hydrolysis of lactose has been shown to improve the efficiency and selectivity of membrane-based separations toward the recovery of bioactive oligosaccharides. Achieving maximum lactose hydrolysis requires intrinsic process optimization for each specific substrate, but the effects of those processing conditions on the target oligosaccharides are not well understood. Response surface methodology was used to investigate the effects of pH (3.25-8.25), temperature (35-55°C), reaction time (6 to 58 min), and amount of enzyme (0.05-0.25%) on the efficiency of lactose hydrolysis by β-galactosidase and on the preservation of biologically important sialyloligosaccharides (3'-siallylactose, 6'-siallylactose, and 6'-sialyl-N-acetyllactosamine) naturally present in bovine colostrum whey permeate. A central composite rotatable design was used. In general, β-galactosidase activity was favored at pH values ranging from 3.25 to 5.75, with other operational parameters having a less pronounced effect. A pH of 4.5 allowed for the use of a shorter reaction time (19 min), lower temperature (40°C), and reduced amount of enzyme (0.1%), but complete hydrolysis at a higher pH (5.75) required greater values for these operational parameters. The total amount of sialyloligosaccharides was not significantly altered by the reaction parameters evaluated, suggesting specificity of β-galactosidase from Aspergillus oryzae toward lactose as well as the stability of the oligosaccharides at pH, temperature, and reaction time evaluated.

O objetivo deste trabalho foi estudar a produção e qualidade da serrapilheira de três leguminosas arbóreas nativas do Nordeste do Brasil, a faveira (Parkia platycephala Benth.), o pau-ferro (Caesalpinea ferrea Mart. ex Tul.) e o bordão-de-velho (Samanea saman (Jack.) Merr.) visando a inserção destas em sistemas silvipastoris. Foi recolhido material depositado em coletores instalados sob a copa. As amostras coletadas foram separadas nas frações folíolo, miscelânea e vagem, que foram analisadas quanto aos teores de nitrogênio, fósforo e potássio. A produção média de serrapilheira no período do bordão-de-velho foi 542 g/m2, da faveira, 311 g/m2 e do pau-ferro, 594 g/m2. As três espécies apresentaram sazonalidade de produção, com o bordão-de-velho concentrando a produção em agosto, a faveira de julho a outubro, e o pau-ferro de abril a agosto. Os teores de P nas três espécies foram baixos, com exceções para a fração vagem do bordão-de-velho (0,21%) e frações miscelânea e vagem do pau-ferro, 0,14% e 0,16%, respectivamente. Os teores de K variaram de 0,16%, na miscelânea da faveira, a 0,65% na vagem do bordão-de-velho. Os teores de N variaram de 0,85%, na miscelânea da faveira, a 2,13% no folíolo do bordão-de-velho. As três espécies demonstraram potencial para conservação de solo para compor sistemas silvipastoris.

The objective was to determine whether the efficacy of zinc gluconate (Testoblock(®)) as a chemical contraceptive in male dogs was compromised in the presence of metamizole sodium (a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory/analgesic agent). Ten sexually mature mongrel dogs were assigned to two groups, a control group (n = 5) and a treated group (n = 5). Testoblock(®), a proprietary zinc-gluconate (13.1 mg zinc/ml) solution in a physiological vehicle, was injected into each testis (0.2-1.0 ml/testis, based on testis width). Half of the dogs (treated group) were also given metamizole sodium (also known as sodium dipyrone) orally (25mg/kg three times a day for 2 days), starting 2-3 h after testis injection. A physical examination and assessment of testis width, hematology, clinical chemistry (hepatic and renal function) and semen characteristics, were done immediately after treatment and then every 2 months for 180 days. There was no post-treatment scrotal biting or licking, although there was transient testicular swelling in both control and treated dogs during the first 3 days after injection. At 60 days after injection, all dogs were azoospermic. At 120 and 180 days, seven dogs had azoospermia and the remaining three (two control and one treated) had apparent aspermia (no ejaculate could be collected). There were no significant differences between groups for clinical findings or any aspect of hematology, renal, or hepatic function. In conclusion, giving metamizole sodium concurrent with an intra-testicular injection of a zinc-based solution did not interfere with chemical sterilization and it improved animal welfare.

Enzymatic reactions are very important for the food industry. They are responsible for the formation of highly desirable compounds, but can cause disorders and lead to undesirable consequences. The physiological behavior of vegetables and fruits is already known, in which most of its deterioration changes in flavour, colour and nutritional value are caused by enzymes of the oxidoreductases group, mainly peroxidases (PER) and polyphenol oxidase (PPO). The degradation of pectic polysaccharides involves two important enzymatic processes whose action is due to pectin methylesterase (PME) and polygalacturonase (PG) enzymes, which affect the consistency and texture of fruit during ripening and postharvest handling. Pineapple is a tropical fruit very appreciated by consumers, but its physical-chemical and biochemical composition varies according to the time and place of production, and stage of maturity. In order to optimize the extraction process of the PER, PPO, PME and PG enzymes from ‘Perola’ pineapple pulp, response surface methodology was used to study the effect of pH (from 4.0 to 8.0) and NaCl concentration (from 0.0 to 2.0 M) of the buffer solution used in the extraction of the enzymes. Brazil is home to 32,086 native Angiosperms and 23 native Gymnosperms, showing an increase of 3% in its species richness in relation to 2010. The Amazon Rainforest is the richest Brazilian biome for Gymnosperms, while the Atlantic Rainforest is the richest one for Angiosperms. There was a considerable increment in the number of species and endemism rates for biomes, except for the Amazon that showed a decrease of 2.5% of recorded endemics. However, well over half of Brazillian seed plant species (57.4%) is endemic to this territory. The proportion of life-forms varies among different biomes: trees are more expressive in the Amazon and Atlantic Rainforest biomes while herbs predominate in the Pampa, and lianas are more expressive in the Amazon, Atlantic Rainforest, and Pantanal. This compilation serves not only to quantify Brazilian biodiversity, but also to highlight areas where there information is lacking and to provide a framework for the challenge faced in conserving Brazil's unique and diverse flora. Resumo Um levantamento atualizado das plantas com sementes e análises relevantes acerca desta biodiversidade são apresentados. Este trabalho se iniciou em 2010 com a publicação do Catálogo de Plantas e Fungos e, desde então vem sendo atualizado por mais de 430 especialistas trabalhando online. O Brasil abriga atualmente 32.086 espécies nativas de Angiospermas e 23 espécies nativas de Gimnospermas e estes novos dados mostram um aumento de 3% da riqueza em relação a 2010. A Amazônia é o Domínio Fitogeográfico com o maior número de espécies de Gimnospermas, enquanto que a Floresta Atlântica possui a maior riqueza de Angiospermas. Houve um crescimento considerável no número de espécies e nas taxas de endemismo para a maioria dos Domínios (Caatinga, Cerrado, Floresta Atlântica, Pampa e Pantanal), com exceção da Amazônia que apresentou uma diminuição de 2,5% de endemicidade. Entretanto, a maior parte das plantas com sementes que ocorrem no Brasil (57,4%) é endêmica deste território. A proporção de formas de vida varia de acordo com os diferentes Domínios: árvores são mais expressivas na Amazônia e Floresta Atlântica do que nos outros biomas, ervas são dominantes no Pampa e as lianas apresentam riqueza expressiva na Amazônia, Floresta Atlântica e Pantanal. Este trabalho não só quantifica a biodiversidade brasileira, mas também indica as lacunas de conhecimento e o desafio a ser enfrentado para a conservação desta flora.
