International audience; The promotion of health-enhancing physical activity (HEPA) has become a key objective in public health policy. Therefore, based on the national HEPA Policy Audit Tool Version 2 (HEPA PAT v2) of the World Health Organization, a tool was designed to support local governments in assessing HEPA policies. This study aims to describe the adaptation and testing of the HEPA policy analysis tool (CAPLA-Santé) at the local level in France. The work was conducted in three stages: (1) an intersec-toral group of experts was constituted, and the group adapted each item of the HEPA PAT v2 tool to the local level; (2) a testing phase with seven local governments helped to collect data and feedback on the tool; and (3) a final workshop was organized to adjust and finalize the tool. The final version of CAPLA-Santé contains 21 items divided into six major sections: overview of HEPA stakeholders in the local government area, policy documents , policy contents, funding and political engagement , studies and measures relating to physical activity in the local government area, and progress achieved and future challenges. CAPLA-Santé allows the collection and in-depth analysis of local level policies to assess the progress in promoting HEPA and intersectoral collaboration as well as identifying successful policy levers and remaining challenges.

International audience; Background: Policy is one of the levers for initiating structural change to foster the promotion of health-enhancing physical activity (HEPA). To this end, policy-makers have to deal with complex ecosystems embedded in specific contexts. However, limited research has been conducted on this topic at the local level. The purpose of this study was to identify the perceived barriers and levers of HEPA policies according to department heads and elected officials across various sectors in mid-size French municipalities. Methods: This study used a mixed method primarily based on an adaptation of the concept mapping approach. A list of statements completing the sentence: 'In a mid-size municipal context, to develop HEPA policies, it is necessary to …' was submitted to key informants of 17 mid-sized French cities. Key informants in each municipality first rated the importance of each statement without considering their local context; they then rated the feasibility of each statement given their local context. In both cases, they used a Likert scale ranging from 1 to 6. Results: A total of 23 municipal department heads and 10 elected officials from the sport (n = 14), health (n = 10) and social (n = 9) sectors in 11 mid-size French cities participated in this study. A list of 84 statements, sorted into 16 categories, was rated by participants according to their importance (M = 4.52, SD = 0.86) and their feasibility (M = 3.77, SD = 0.74). Potential barriers to (n = 10) and levers of (n = 38) HEPA policy development were identified. These results varied according to the position and sector of the participants. Conclusions: The results suggest that local contextual factors can affect the development of HEPA policies in mid-size French municipalities. The different perceptions of the potential levers and barriers according to sector might affect intersectoral collaboration. This study contributes by enhancing understanding of how local HEPA policies are developed in the French context.

Both doping (e.g. Hodge, K., Hargreaves, E. A., Gerrard, D. F., & Lonsdale, C. (2013). Psychological mechanisms underlying doping attitudes in sport: Motivation and moral disengagement. Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology, 35, 419-432.) and eating behaviours (e.g. Hagger, M. S., Chatzisarantis, N. L., & Harris, J. (2006). From psychological need satisfaction to intentional behaviour: Testing a motivational sequence in two behavioural contexts. Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, 32, 131-148.) have been studied independently within the SDT framework, but no research has examined these variables concomitantly to better understand the relationships between motivation for sport and doping variables. We therefore examined the mediating role of eating behaviour in the relationship between SDT constructs for sport motivation and athletes' susceptibility to doping. Bootstrapped mediation analyses were performed for 171 male and female athletes with competitive experience in various sports. The analyses revealed that healthy eating behaviours significantly mediated the relationship between SDT motivational constructs and susceptibility to doping. The findings enrich our theoretical understanding of how the SDT approach to motivation for sport might provide insight into the susceptibility to doping; that is, through the potential mediating role of healthy eating behaviours. Finally, the potential central position of eating behaviours in the motivation-doping relationship opens up a potential swathe of novel research, with investigations into eating behaviours at the forefront of future research on the psychology of doping.

Over the long term, people who have undergone bariatric surgery (BS) remain overly sedentary with inadequate physical activity (PA). The purpose of this study was to apply the transtheoretical model (TTM) to (1) explore in-depth how PA is experienced years after BS and (2) identify the barriers to and facilitators of PA involved at each stage of change (SOC). Seventeen women with a mean age of 32.5 ± 3.3 years and a percentage of total weight loss of 29.6 ± 12.4 were interviewed at a mean of 9.4 ± 3.6 years after BS. Interviews were audio-recorded, transcribed verbatim, and analyzed using thematic analysis. The distribution of barriers to and facilitators of PA differed with the SOC. In progressing from the precontemplation and contemplation stages to the preparation stage, the women experienced changes in their decisional balance, supported by processes of self-reevaluation and environmental reevaluation. In shifting from preparation to the action and maintenance stages, they experienced intrinsic motivation and self-liberation processes. The relapse stage was associated with a decrease in self-efficacy to cope with life constraints. This study presents an in-depth theory-based exploration of the dynamics of long-term engagement in PA after BS in young women, with clinical implications for providing them with better guidance toward a more physically active lifestyle.

BackgroundTechnology-based physical activity suggests new opportunities for public health initiatives. Yet only 45% of technology interventions are theoretically based, and the acceptability mechanisms have been insufficiently studied. Acceptability and acceptance theories have provided interesting insights, particularly the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology 2 (UTAUT2). In several studies, the psychometric qualities of acceptability scales have not been well demonstrated. ObjectiveThe aim of this study was to adapt the UTAUT2 to the electronic health (eHealth) context and provide a preliminary validation of the eHealth acceptability scale in a French sample. MethodsIn line with the reference validation methodologies, we carried out the following stages of validating the scale with a total of 576 volunteers: translation and adaptation, dimensionality tests, reliability tests, and construct validity tests. We used confirmatory factor analysis to validate a 22-item instrument with 7 subscales: Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, Facilitating Conditions, Hedonic Motivation, Price Value, and Habit. International audience; La pratique régulière d’une activité physique (AP) est aujourd’hui reconnue comme un des éléments clés du bien vieillir. Cependant, en France, le niveau d’AP diminue avec l’âge. L’objectif de cette étude était d’étudier la mise en œuvre et l’impact d’un programme d’activité physique destinés aux plus de 60 ans insuffisamment actifs, coconstruit avec les acteurs locaux sur plusieurs communes. Méthodologie : Le programme « Prévention active senior » (PAS), coordonné par un centre de ressources, consistait en la conception et la mise en œuvre d’un programme d’AP structuré, pour des personnes de plus de 60 ans. Pour chaque commune, le programme était conduit par un éducateur sportif « implanté » localement en partenariat avec un agent de la collectivité concernée. Il était composé de trois séances d’AP hebdomadaires (deux encadrées et une en autonomie) pendant trois mois. Les données ont été recueillies grâce aux outils développés pour l’évaluation. Résultats : Le programme a été conduit dans 27 communes. Il a réuni 586 participants inscrits et 439 ont réalisé l’évaluation finale. Celui-ci a permis une amélioration significative des trois principales qualités physiques (endurance, force musculaire et équilibre) chez les pratiquants. À l’issue du programme, plus de la moitié des communes ont mis en place ou soutenu une offre d’AP pérenne. Discussion : Cette étude a permis de souligner la nécessité d’adapter ce type d’intervention au contexte territorial. Elle confirme l’intérêt de combiner une approche individuelle et populationnelle ainsi qu’un travail intersectoriel pour créer des conditions favorables à la pratique de l’activité physique.

International audience; Dans un contexte de vieillissement des populations et d’accroissement des maladies chroniques, l’activité physique adaptée (APA) émerge de plus en plus comme une modalité de prise en charge de la santé. L’efficacité des APA dépend de l’adhésion des participants. Cet article aborde les motifs d’adhésion de seniors atteints de maladies cardiovasculaires dans un programme d’APA en région PACA. L’enquête a été menée au travers d’entretiens semi-directifs auprès de 33 seniors participant ou ayant participé au programme. Les résultats montrent des différences de motifs entre les phases d’initiation et de maintien dans l’AP : il semblerait que si on vient pour la santé physique, on y reste pour le bien-être, notamment social. Si l’objectif de « guérison » est partagé par toutes et tous dans le démarrage du programme d’APA, le partage de lien social, l’absence de compétition, le cadre bienveillant et sécuritaire sont énoncés comme les raisons importantes d’adhésion maintenue au programme.
