Abstract Ultrafast lasers have become powerful tools in various fields, and increasing their fundamental repetition rates to the gigahertz (GHz) level holds great potential for frontier scientific and industrial applications. Among various schemes, passive mode-locking in ultrashort-cavity fiber laser is promising for generating GHz ultrashort pulses (typically solitons), for its simplicity and robustness. However, its pulse energy is far lower than the critical value of the existing theory, leading to open questions on the mode-locking mechanism of GHz fiber lasers. Here, we study the passive mode-locking in GHz fiber lasers by exploring dynamic gain depletion and recovery (GDR) effect, and establish a theoretical model for comprehensively understanding its low-threshold mode-locking mechanism with multi-GHz fundamental repetition rates. Specifically, the GDR effect yields an effective interaction force and thereby binds multi-GHz solitons to form a counterpart of soliton crystals. It is found that the resulting collective behavior of the solitons effectively reduces the saturation energy of the gain fiber and permits orders of magnitude lower pulse energy for continuous-wave mode-locking (CWML). A new concept of quasi-single soliton defined in a strongly correlated length is also proposed to gain insight into the dynamics of soliton assembling, which enables the crossover from the present mode-locking theory to the existing one. Specifically, two distinguishing dynamics of Q-switched mode-locking that respectively exhibit rectangular- and Gaussian-shape envelopes are theoretically indicated and experimentally verified in the mode-locked GHz fiber laser through the measurements using both the standard real-time oscilloscope and emerging time-lens magnification. Based on the proposed criterion of CWML, we finally implement a GDR-mediated mode-locked fiber laser with an unprecedentedly high fundamental repetition rate of up to 21 GHz and a signal-to-noise ratio of 85.9 dB.

Abstract Background Bizarre parosteal osteochondromatous proliferation (BPOP) is a rare benign bone tumor, it is also called “Nora’s lesion”. The lesion is characterized by heterotopic ossification of the normal bone cortex or parosteal bone. The etiology of BPOP is unclear and may be related to trauma. In most BPOPs, the lesion is not connected to the medullary cavity. Here we report an atypical case, characterized by reversed features compared to the typical BPOP, which demonstrated continuity of the lesion with the cavity. Case presentation An 11-year-old female child had a slow-growing mass on her right wrist for 8 months with forearm rotation dysfunction. Plain X-rays showed an irregular calcified mass on the right distal ulna, and computed tomography (CT) showed a pedunculated mass resembling a mushroom protruding into the soft tissue at the distal ulna. The medulla of this lesion is continuous with the medulla of the ulna. A surgical resection of the lesion, together with a portion of the ulnar bone cortex below the tumor was performed, and the final pathology confirmed BPOP. After the surgery, the child’s forearm rotation function improved significantly, and there was no sign of a recurrence at 1-year follow-up. Conclusion It is scarce for BPOP lesions to communicate with the medullary cavity. However, under-recognition of these rare cases may result in misdiagnosis or inappropriate treatment thereby increasing the risk of recurrence. Therefore, special cases where BPOP lesions are continuous with the medulla are even more important to be studied to understand better and master these lesions. Although BPOP is a benign tumor with no evidence of malignant transformation, the recurrence rate of surgical resection is high. We considered the possibility of this particular disease prior to surgery and performed a surgical resection with adequate safety margins. Regular postoperative follow-up is of utmost importance, without a doubt.

Abstract Cervical cancer (CC) is the fourth most common cancer among women worldwide. NLR Family CARD Domain Containing 5 (NLRC5) plays an important role in tumorigenesis. However, its effect and mechanism in CC remains unclear. In this study, we aimed to investigate the function of NLRC5 in CC. NLRC5 was found to be down-regulated in CC tissues compared with normal cervical tissues. However, patients with higher NLRC5 expression had better prognosis, patients with higher age, HPV infection, lymph node metastasis, recurrence and histological grade had worse prognosis. Univariate and multivariate analyses showed NLRC5 to be a potential prognostic indicator for CC. Pearson correlation analysis showed that NLRC5 might exert its function in CC through autophagy related proteins, especially LC3. In vitro experiments demonstrated that NLRC5 inhibited LC3 levels and promoted the proliferation, migration, and invasion of CC cells by activating the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway. Treatment with LY294002 reversed the above phenotype. Taken together, our finding suggested that NLRC5 would participate in cervical tumorigenesis and progression by regulating PI3K/AKT signaling pathway. In addition, NLRC5 and LC3 combined as possible predictors in CC.

Selenium (Se) is a beneficial element for plant growth and development. In this study, three-year-old potted 'Qingcui' plums were treated with Na2SeO4 (Se6+) or selenomethionine (SeMet Se2-) to explore the effect of Se on the plant growth, fruit quality, and 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) metabolism. Flower and fruit numbers, fruit quality and yield, Se content, and 5-HTP metabolites and enzymes were detected. The results showed that the flower and fruit numbers, and yield were significantly increased by the Se application. There were no significant differences in the fruit diameters, fruit mass, edible part ratio, titratable acids, water content, and solid acid ratio among the treatments. The total soluble solids, soluble protein, and malondialdehyde contents under the Se6+ treatment showed no significant difference compared to the Se2- treatment, but they were significantly higher than these under control by 16.71%, 39.13%, and 36.27%, respectively. The Se application markedly increased plant the Se content, and Se contents in the roots and leaves, or the fruits were significantly larger by the Se6+ treatments than the Se2- treatment. The leaves' pigment contents under the Se2- treatments were significantly larger than those under the control or Se6+ treatment. Tryptophan was not significantly influenced, the 5-HTP and 5-methoxytryptophan contents were reduced in the roots, and increased in the leaves, and the serotonin content was only significantly increased in the roots by the Se treatments. The tryptophan hydroxylase and hydroxyindole-O-methyltransferase levels were slightly influenced, and the tryptophan decarboxylase level in the roots or fruits was significantly increased by the Se treatments. The Se application had beneficial effects on the plant growth, fruit quality, and Se content, especially in the Se6+ treatment, and influenced the 5-HTP metabolism.

In high-penetration wind power generation systems， accurately assessing the support potential for virtual inertia of energy storage and fully releasing its energy reserves to render the systems active in grid frequency regulation are crucial for ensuring the systems’ frequency safety and stability. To achieve this， a dynamic frequency response model for wind-storage power generation systems to calculate the system’s time of safe frequency rise and fall and the extreme values of frequency deviation. Next， considering the constraints on the safe operating condition of the state of charge （SOC） during energy storage， the virtual inertia of energy storage during the time of safe frequency rise and fall is quantitatively evaluated. Moreover， an active frequency support technology for energy storage based on fixed-frequency control is introduced， aiming to fully exploit the frequency support capability of energy storage during the frequency drop and recovery periods. Finally， a simulation model of high-penetration wind power generation systems is constructed for validation. Under the proposed control strategy， energy storage can provide effective inertia support and offer sustained frequency response， thereby significantly enhancing the systems’ frequency stability.

The accurate encoding of the spatial position of imaging voxels is crucial for the spatial localization of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). To guarantee spatial encoding accuracy, it is essential to obtain high-performance gradient magnetic fields. Gradient waveform generators are the core part of generating gradient magnetic fields. This paper briefly introduces the working principle and components of gradient waveform generator, summarizes the research progress of gradient waveform generator based on different design schemes in the past 20 years, and discusses the realization methods in detail of gradient waveform pre-emphasis. Besides, the future research and development direction of gradient waveform generators is prospected.

BackgroundExposure to trauma is often associated with an increased incidence of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), yet the mechanisms underlying MDD development post-trauma remain elusive. The microbiota-gut-brain axis has been implicated in neuropsychiatric disorders, suggesting its potential role in post-traumatic MDD (PTMDD) development. Our study aimed to assess the significance of the gut microbiome-brain interaction in PTMDD.MethodsWe conducted a bidirectional two-sample Mendelian Randomization (MR) analysis to investigate the causal relationship between the gut microbiota and both PTMDD and trauma exposure in MDD. Genome-wide association study (GWAS) summary datasets for PTMDD and trauma exposure in MDD, both derived from the UK Biobank. The PTMDD dataset included 24,090 individuals (13,393 cases and 10,701 controls), while the dataset for trauma exposure in MDD comprised 22,880 participants (13,393 cases and 9,487 controls). Additionally, gut microbiota data from the MiBioGen consortium included 14,306 European individuals across 18 diverse cohorts.ResultsOur research identified a significant negative association between the phylum Verrucomicrobia (odds ratio (OR) [95% confidence interval (CI)] =0.799 [0.684–0.933], P=0.005) and the risk of developing PTMDD, suggesting a protective role for Verrucomicrobia against PTMDD. Conversely, our findings indicate no causal effects of the gut microbiota on trauma exposure in MDD. However, reverse analysis revealed that both PTMDD and MDD influence certain bacterial traits, affecting 5 and 9 bacterial traits, respectively. Moreover, Verrucomicrobia (OR [95% CI] = 1.166 [1.051 - 1.294], P=0.004) was found to be positively impacted by trauma exposure in MDD.ConclusionOur findings provide a cause-and-effect relationship between the gut microbiota and PTMDD, contributing to our understanding of the microbiota-gut-brain axis and its role in neuropsychiatric disorder development after trauma. This information provides an opportunity for new treatment and prevention methods which are aimed at the gut-brain interaction.

When using the process of metal powder injection molding (MIM) to prepare small module gears, in order to improve the quality and performance of the sintered parts of the gear, powder with different particle sizes is prepared. The sintering performance of the gear is analyzed by the melt flow meter, the porosity measurement software, the 2.5-dimensional image measuring instrument and the micro-Vickers hardness tester. The influence mechanism of particle sizes on the surface quality, porosity and shrinkage of gears is studied. The results show that due to the poor powder flow performance of the gear made of 5.0 μm powder, the powder concentration distribution is not uniform after sintering, there are black lines on the surface, and the dimensional shrinkage is not uniform, which affect the dimensional accuracy. Due to the poor sintering neck formation ability and slow diffusion process of the gear made of 9.0 μm powder, the porosity after sintering is high and the pore size is large. When the 7.0 μm powder is used to prepare the gear, the quality performance of the gear is the best. The gear has no surface defects, the porosity is reduced to 2.9%, the Vickers hardness value reaches 355, the shrinkage uniformity is high, the dimensional accuracy is high, and the accuracy of thetested items are better than class 7 according to the national standard GB 2363—1990.

IntroductionPlacental syndromes, which include pregnancy loss, preterm birth, gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), and hypertensive disorders in pregnancy (HDP), have a strong association with disorder inflammatory reactions. Nonetheless, the exact causal relationship has not been established. This study aims to investigate the causal relationship between placental syndromes and inflammatory cytokines utilizing Mendelian randomization (MR). Additionally, we examined the interaction between small molecular compounds derived from traditional Chinese medicine and inflammatory cytokines using molecular docking method.MethodsAfter obtaining the data of inflammatory cytokines and placental syndromes, as well as establishing single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), we employed the inverse variance weighted (IVW) method to assess the causal relationship. We also accessed the heterogeneity and the horizontal pleiotropy of these data. The “ClusterProfiler” R package was utilized for Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway and Gene Ontology (GO) term analyses. The protein-protein interaction (PPI) network was constructed using STRING database. AutoDock Vina software was used for molecular docking, and Discovery Studio 2019 was used for visualization purposes.ResultsWe found that the growth regulated oncogene A (GROA) and interleukin-9 (IL-9) were associated with the development of pregnancy hypertension, whereas interleukin-10 (IL-10) and hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) were linked to the occurrence of preeclampsia. Moreover, there were correlations observed between interleukin-18 (IL-18), IL-10, macrophage colony-stimulating factor (MCSF), and platelet-derived growth factor BB (PDGFbb) in cases of chronic hypertension combined with pregnancy (CHP). Additionally, macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) exhibited a connection with GDM, and TNF related apoptosis inducing ligand (TRAIL) demonstrated a causal relationship with preterm birth. It is plausible to suggest that interleukin-1β (IL-1β) might contribute to the promotion of pregnancy loss. All of the binding free energy values of small molecular compounds with inflammatory cytokines were below −5.0 kcal/mol. Furthermore, all of the RMSD values were less than 2.ConclusionsGROA, IL-1β, IL-9, IL-10, IL-18, MIF, MCSF, HGF, PDGFbb and TRAIL were found to be causally associated with placental syndromes. Molecular docking analysis revealed that small molecular compounds, such as puerarin, magnolol, atractylenolide I, paeoniflorin, tumulosic acid and wogonin, are closely bound to these inflammatory cytokines.

Considerable debate has arisen around the potential effects of increasing the minimum wage on employment. This study aims to analyze the impact of changes in China's minimum wage standard on employment. The research utilises the canonical model method and constructs a regression model based on standard labor economics theory. The analysis is conducted using sample data from Chinese industrial enterprises between 2000 and 2007. Regression analysis is performed by categorizing enterprises based on their level of human capital investment. The findings indicate that minimum wage increases have a non-linear impact on employment, when seen from the standpoint of human capital investment. When the level of human capital investment is low, an increase in the minimum wage standard leads to a decrease in employment; when the level of human capital investment is high, an increase in the minimum wage standard leads to an increase in employment. According to the findings, the reason for this is that, investments in human capital can improve business profitability, increase worker marginal productivity, and increase labor demand. Similarly, the employment effect of a change in the minimum wage is positive in regions with high levels of human capital investment due to the externality effect of human capital. Adjustments to the minimum wage have a negative impact on employment in areas of the country with low levels of human capital investment. This demonstrates that changing the minimum wage does not result in a simple increase or decrease in total employment. The level of investment in human capital within the organization and the region is an important factor in determining the type and magnitude of the impact.

In this study, four different initial densities (2.7 × 103 as a control, 5.4 × 103, 1.1 × 104, and 2.2 × 104 cells/cm2) of porcine muscle stem cells were cultured for three days to explore the effect of high-density culture conditions on the fate of porcine muscle stem cells. The counting results showed that the suitable culture density of porcine muscle stem cells was 2 × 104–3 × 104 cells/cm2, and the proliferation-related protein phosphorylated extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 (p-ERK1/2) was down-regulated when the initial cell density was outside this range, causing a proliferation inhibitory effect. The transcriptome sequencing results showed that 2 125 differentially expressed genes were identified between the highest density and control groups, mainly enriched in some signaling pathways such as those related to cell senescence and cell cycle and the PI3K-Akt signaling pathway. Furthermore, the expression of the stemness genes PAX7 and PAX3 and the quiescence-related gene SPRY1 was upregulated under high-density conditions. The expression of the differentiation genes MYOD, MYOG and MYH3 and the senescence genes P21, P53 and P15 was upregulated. The results of real-time PCR and Western blot assay showed that the expression of PAX7, SPRY1, MYOG, and P21 were upregulated as the cell density increased. The above results showed that porcine muscle stem cells had multiple fats such as returning to a quiescent state, differentiation and senescence under high-density conditions. The results of this study can help in understanding the mechanism of cell fate determination and provide a theoretical basis for studying the regulation of cell proliferation and differentiation under high-density condition.

Accompanied by the significant progress of deep learning in various fields, target detection, an important branch in the field of deep learning, is gradually being applied in educational scenarios. In this paper, using the GCT-YOLOv5 algorithm and the Lasso-LARs algorithm, we studied how to improve the interactive efficiency of college English classroom teaching Research first combines the YOLOv5 model with the GCT unit, constructs the GCT-YOLOv5 target detection model for students’ classroom behaviors, and compares it with Fast-RCNN, SSD, YOLOv3, YOLOv4, and YOLOv5 in the public dataset and the student classroom behavior dataset for comparison experiments, respectively. Then, the LASSO-LARS algorithm is used to construct the classroom behavior scoring model, adjust classroom teaching interactions according to the scoring results, and analyze the effect of the adjustment. On the classroom behavior dataset, the GCT-YOLOv5 model is 98.81%, second only to Fast-RCNN, and improves 0.65% relative to the original model YOLOv5. Its inference time compared to YOLOv5 inference time increased by only 0.13h, shorter than other models. The GCT-YOLOv5 model in this paper has better applicability and timeliness in general. Teaching interaction adjustment based on the results of classroom behavior analysis can improve students’ classroom performance as well as their academic performance, i.e., enhance the efficiency of teaching interaction and provide a way of thinking about how to monitor learners’ learning status in a smart classroom.

The hyperlinks on the Sina Weibo platform are tracked by a web crawler so as to obtain the textual resources of university English online phrases on the platform. To process microblog text data, this paper proposes the use of multiple linguistic expressions of translation machines to enhance the text feature representation and apply it to clustering to enhance the clustering results. Based on commonly used algorithms such as K-means, DBSCAN, and hierarchical clustering, we analyze the clustering effect of each algorithm according to internal and external evaluation indexes and finally determine the clustering algorithms to be used for the change of university English network terms. Using the English network word “hand” as an example, this paper observes a fluctuating trend in the heat of this word from January to June 2023, with peaks in heat generation in January and February, respectively, and a peak heat of about 10,500 in February. In terms of spatial variation, the heat level of the English word “hand” is high in the east and south regions and low in the west and north regions, but in February, due to the return of the population to their hometowns for the Lunar New Year, the north region exceeds the east and south regions with a heat level of 11086.77.

Vocational education and dynamic social development are two complex nonlinear systems. Establishing the linear system theory of vocational education in university education is a relatively complex subject. We use qualitative and quantitative methods to establish nonlinear differential equations of college students’ vocational education. This paper analyzes the structural characteristics of the vocational education industry-education integration system and the dynamic factors that cause the evolution of the nonlinear system. Finally, the article verifies the higher vocational education system’s non-equilibrium, openness, and nonlinearity through examples.

ObjectiveTo explore the development process of the postmortem interval （PMI） research in China from January 1990 to August 2020, research hotspots in different periods, authors and cooperation between institutions, and to provide a reference for the better development of PMI inference research through the visualization of the literature information of the PMI estimation research indexed in China National Knowledge Infrastructure （CNKI）.MethodsThe information visualization analysis software CiteSpace 5.7.R1 was used to carry out big data analysis on hotspots, high-frequency keywords, authors, institutions and other information in the research literature on PMI inference from January 1990 to August 2020 indexed in CNKI.ResultsThe peak time of publication of PMI was from 2006 to 2010 with 114 articles. In keyword co-occurrence network, the effective hot words were forensic entomology, DNA content analysis and some emerging words such as artificial intelligence and big data. In the cooperation network of institutions, the high-frequency institutions were mainly the scientific research institutions. The author cooperation network showed a trend of co-aggregation and multi-cooperation.ConclusionWith the development of science and technology, the research on PMI estimation based on traditional methods is mature and novel strategies are emerging. Big data and artificial intelligence combined with forensic science provide new research directions on PMI estimation.

IntroductionTo improve the mechanization level of rice planting, a new type of direct seeding device for rice was designed. The device's structural properties will be crucial in determining its seeding performance. Structure optimization in the current seed metering device design process focuses on a single or few indexes, resulting in improved individual performance but imbalanced overall performance. Therefore, a structure optimization method of the direct seeding device based on a multi-index orthogonal experiment was proposed in this study.MethodsFirst, the DEM-MBD coupling method observed the factors and levels that affected the performance overall. Second, a test platform based on the electric drive control model was constructed, and a multi-index orthogonal test was devised. Finally, the structural parameters of the seed metering devices were optimized based on matrix analysis.ResultsFrom the results, the primary and secondary levels of significance of factors were just as follows: hole diameter > hole number > adjustment angle. The following are the optimal parameters found by optimization analysis: the diameter of the hole was 12 mm, the number of holes was 10, and the adjustment angle was 80°. Validation tests were carried out and analyzed based on the optimal structural parameter combination. The qualification rate of seeds per hole, empty hole rate, average seed number, coefficient of variation of seed number, average hole spacing, and the variance coefficient of hole spacing are 93.07%, 0%, 9.39,14.04%, 22.84 cm, and 9.14%, respectively.DiscussionIn comparison to traditional design and structural parameter optimization methods for rice precision seed metering device, this study not just to provides an optimization scheme for improving the overall performance of rice precision seed metering device, but also serves as a technical reference for the development and design of new rice precision seed metering device.

BackgroundPrevious studies have suggested that the ratios of immune-inflammatory cells could serve as prognostic indicators in ovarian cancer. However, which of these is the superior prognostic indicator in ovarian cancer remains unknown. In addition, studies on the prognostic value of the platelet to neutrophil ratio (PNR) in ovarian cancer are still limited.MethodsA cohort of 991 ovarian cancer patients was analyzed in the present study. Receiver operator characteristic (ROC) curves were utilized to choose the optimal cut-off values of inflammatory biomarkers such as neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR), lymphocyte to monocyte ratio (LMR), platelet to lymphocyte ratio (PLR), systemic immune-inflammation index (SII), and PNR. Case teaching is an important way to strengthen the training of practical ability of professional degree graduate students. With the rapid development of Master of Engineering Management (MEM) in China in recent years, the cases for the teaching of MEM curriculum need constantly renewed, further excavation, more collection and application, to form a systematic case library. Pushing forward the construction of case library in teaching of MEM professional degree graduate students help case teaching play full advantage. Taking the case library of “Project bidding and contract management” course for example, the paper expounds the relevant theoretical basis of teaching case library construction of professional degree postgraduate courses. And the paper puts forward some design principles and strategies of the construction of case library. Finally, the paper presents the application effects of “Project bidding and contract management” case library. It is hoped that the paper can provide some reference for improving the training quality of MEM professional degree graduate students.

Abstract Aim We performed a systematic review and meta‐analysis to examine the accuracy and safety of using the electrocardiogram (ECG) positioning technique to localize the peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) tip position to provide objective evidence for its clinical application. Methods We searched the literature for randomized controlled trials evaluating the diagnostic analysis of using electrocardiograms to localize PICC tip positions in the MEDLINE, EMBASE, PubMed, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL) and PsycINFO databases. We used a risk ratio with accompanying 95% confidence interval (CI) to express estimates. Reviewer Manager (RevMan) 5.1.0 was used to complete all statistical analyses. Results This systematic review identified 9 studies (N = 3,194 patients). Overall, the results of the meta‐analysis revealed that, for patients in whom the ECG positioning method was used compared with patients in whom the landmark positioning method was used, the RR for accurate catheter tip positioning was RR = 1.17, and the difference was statistically significant. The RR for the incidence of complications was RR = 0.28, and the difference was statistically significant. Conclusions The application of ECGs in PICC tip positioning can improve the accuracy of catheter tip positioning and reduce the incidence of related complications.

Abstract Background Without sufficient evidence in postoperative acute kidney injury (AKI) in critically ill patients undergoing emergency surgery, it is meaningful to explore the incidence, risk factors, and prognosis of postoperative AKI. Methods A prospective observational study was conducted in the general intensive care units (ICUs) from January 2014 to March 2018. Variables about preoperation, intraoperation and postoperation were collected. AKI was diagnosed using the Kidney Disease: Improving Global Outcomes criteria. Results Among 383 critically ill patients undergoing emergency surgery, 151 (39.4%) patients developed postoperative AKI. Postoperative reoperation, postoperative Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation (APACHE II) score, and postoperative serum lactic acid (LAC) were independent risk factors for postoperative AKI, with the adjusted odds ratio (ORadj) of 1.854 (95% confidence interval [CI], 1.091–3.152), 1.059 (95%CI, 1.018–1.102), and 1.239 (95%CI, 1.047–1.467), respectively. Compared with the non-AKI group, duration of mechanical ventilation, renal replacement therapy, ICU and hospital mortality, ICU and hospital length of stay, total ICU and hospital costs were higher in the AKI group. Conclusions Postoperative reoperation, postoperative APACHE II score, and postoperative LAC were independent risk factors of postoperative AKI in critically ill patients undergoing emergency surgery.

Understanding the dynamic link between the development of COVID-19 pandemic and industry sector risk spillovers is crucial to explore the underlying mechanisms by which major public health events affect economic systems. This paper applies ElasticNet method proposed by Diebold and Yilmaz (2009, 2012, 2014) to estimate the dynamic risk spillover indicators of 20 industrial sectors in China from 2016 to 2022, and systematically examines the impact of industry risk network fluctuations and the transmission path caused by COVID-19 shock. The findings reveal that risk spillovers of Chinese industries show a dynamic change of "decline-fluctuation-rebound" with the three phases of COVID-19 epidemic. At the beginning of the epidemic, machinery and equipment, paper and printing, tourism and hotels, media and information services, and agriculture were the exporters of epidemic risk, while materials, transportation equipment, commercial trade, health care, and environmental protection were the importers of epidemic risk; However, as the epidemic developed further, the direction and effect of risk transmission in the industry was reversed. Examining the network characteristics of the pair sectors, we found that under the epidemic shock, the positive risk spillover from tourism and hotels, culture, education and sports to consumer goods, finance, and energy industries was significantly increased, and finance and real estate industries were affected by the risk impact of more industries, while the number of industries affected by information technology and computer industry was significantly reduced. This paper shows that there is inter-industry risk transmission of the COVID-19 epidemic shock, and the risk transmission feeds back in a cycle between industries as the epidemic develops, driving the economy into a vicious circle. The role of the service sector in blocking the spread of negative shocks from the epidemic should be emphasized and brought into play to avoid increasing the overall economic vulnerability. This study will help to deepen the understanding of scholars and policy makers on the network transmission effects of the epidemic.

Abstract Background Periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) is a catastrophic complication after total hip arthroplasty (THA). Our meta-analysis aimed to identify the individual-related risk factors that predispose patients to PJI following primary THA. Methods Comprehensive literature retrieval from Pubmed, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library was performed from inception to Feb 20th, 2021. Patient-related risk factors were compared as per the modifiable factors (BMI, smoke and alcohol abuse), non-modifiable factors (gender, age), and medical history characteristics, such as diabetes mellitus (DM), avascular necrosis (AVN) of femoral head, femoral neck fracture, rheumatoid arthritis (RA), cardiovascular disease (CVD), and osteoarthritis (OA) etc. The meta-analysis was applied by using risk ratios with 95% corresponding intervals. Sensitivity analysis and publication bias were performed to further assess the credibility of the results. Results Overall, 40 studies with 3,561,446 hips were enrolled in our study. By implementing cumulative meta-analysis, higher BMI was found associated with markedly increased PJI risk after primary THA [2.40 (2.01–2.85)]. Meanwhile, medical characteristics including DM [1.64 (1.25–2.21)], AVN [1.65 (1.07–2.56)], femoral neck fracture [1.75 (1.39–2.20)], RA [1.37 (1.23–1.54)], CVD [1.34 (1.03–1.74)], chronic pulmonary disease (CPD) [1.22 (1.08–1.37)], neurological disease [1.19 (1.05–1.35)], opioid use [1.53 (1.35–1.73)] and iron-deficiency anemia (IDA) [1.15 (1.13–1.17)] were also significantly correlated with higher rate of PJI. Conversely, dysplasia or dislocation [0.65 (0.45–0.93)], and OA [0.70 (0.62–0.79)] were protective factors. Of Note, female gender was protective for PJI only after longer follow-up. Besides, age, smoking, alcohol abuse, previous joint surgery, renal disease, hypertension, cancer, steroid use and liver disease were not closely related with PJI risk. Conclusion Our finding suggested that the individual-related risk factors for PJI after primary THA included high BMI, DM, AVN, femoral neck fracture, RA, CVD, CPD, neurological disease, opioid use and IDA, while protective factors were female gender, dysplasia/ dislocation and OA.

Light quality is a vital environmental signal used to trigger growth and to develop structural differentiation in plants, and it influences morphological, physiological, and biochemical metabolites. In previous studies, different light qualities were found to regulate the synthesis of anthocyanin. However, the mechanism of the synthesis and accumulation of anthocyanins in leaves in response to light quality remains unclear. In this study, the Loropetalum chinense var. rubrum “Xiangnong Fendai” plant was treated with white light (WL), blue light (BL), ultraviolet-A light (UL), and blue light plus ultraviolet-A light (BL + UL), respectively. Under BL, the leaves were described as increasing in redness from “olive green” to “reddish-brown”. The chlorophyll, carotenoid, anthocyanin, and total flavonoid content were significantly higher at 7 d than at 0 d. In addition, BL treatment also significantly increased the accumulation of soluble sugar and soluble protein. In contrast to BL, ultraviolet-A light increased the malondialdehyde (MDA) content and the activities of three antioxidant enzymes in the leaves, including catalase (CAT), peroxidase (POD), and superoxide dismutase (SOD), in varying degrees over time. Moreover, we also found that the CRY-like gene, HY5-like gene, BBX-like gene, MYB-like gene, CHS-like gene, DFR-like gene, ANS-like gene, and UFGT-like gene were significantly upregulated. Furthermore, the SOD-like, POD-like, and CAT-like gene expressions related to antioxidase synthesis were found under ultraviolet-A light conditions. In summary, BL is more conducive to reddening the leaves of “Xiangnong Fendai” and will not lead to excessive photooxidation. This provides an effective ecological strategy for light-induced leaf-color changes, thereby promoting the ornamental and economic value of L. chinense var. rubrum.

Abstract Osteosarcoma is a common and highly malignant bone tumor among children, adolescents and young adults. However, the underlying molecular mechanisms remain largely unexplored. LncRNAs are transcripts with no or limited protein-coding capacity in human genomes, and have been demonstrated to play crucial functions in initiation, progression, therapeutic resistance, recurrence and metastasis of tumor. Considerable studies revealed a dysregulated lncRNA expression pattern in osteosarcoma, which may act as oncogenes or suppressors to regulate osteosarcoma progression. Wnt signaling pathway is an important cascade in tumorigenesis by modulation of pleiotropic biological functions including cell proliferation, apoptosis, differentiation, stemness, genetic stability and chemoresistance. Hyperactivation or deficiency of key effectors in Wnt cascade is a common event in many osteosarcoma patients. Recently, increasing evidences have suggested that lncRNAs could interplay with component of Wnt pathway, and thereby contribute to osteosarcoma onset, progression and dissemination. In this review, we briefly summarize Wnt signaling-related lncRNAs in osteosarcoma progression, aiming to gain insights into their underlying crosstalk as well as clinical application in osteosarcoma therapeutic modalities.

Background: Cesarean scar pregnancy (CSP), a rare type of ectopic pregnancy, can lead to adverse pregnancy outcomes. However, there is no uniform international treatment guideline for CSP. In this study, we retrospectively analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of three different surgical methods for type II CSP, trying to find the best treatment plan. Methods: From January 2013 to December 2018, a retrospective analysis was performed in 58 patients with type II CSP admitted to the Department of Gynecology, Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University. 20 patients underwent hysteroscopic resection (Group A), 18 patients underwent laparoscopic resection and repair (Group B), and 20 patients underwent vaginal resection and repair (Group C). All patients were treated with preventive uterine artery embolization (UAE) preoperatively. The clinical data were collected, and the treatment effects of the different surgical methods were compared. Results: Age, gravidity, parity, number of previous cesarean sections, time period since the last cesarean section, menolipsis days, and preoperative level of the beta-subunit of human chorionic gonadotropin (β-hCG) were not significant different among the three groups (P > 0.05). The differences in operation time (46.85 ± 20.91 min vs. 105.78 ± 32.95 min vs. 67.85 ± 32.88 min), intraoperative blood loss (45.00 ± 17.32 mL vs. 262.22 ± 235.74 mL vs. 166.50 ± 150.66 mL), postoperative hemoglobin level decreased (11.60 ± 5.60 g/L vs. 20.11 ± 7.72 g/L vs. 14.95 ± 5.40 g/L), and menstrual cycle recovery time (35.40 ± 6.31 day vs. 30.11 ± 5.04 day vs. 30.80 ± 4.62 day) were significant different. Conclusions: Hysteroscopic, laparoscopic, and transvaginal surgery can effectively treat type II CSP. Treatment should be individualized according to the diameter of the gestational sac, the patient’s fertility requirements as well as the doctor’s surgical experience and the surgical equipment of the local hospital.

We compared the ability of a radiomics model, morphological imaging model, and clinicopathological risk model to predict 3-year overall survival (OS) in 206 patients with rectal cancer who underwent radical surgery and had magnetic resonance imaging, clinicopathological, and OS data available. The patients were randomized to a training cohort (n = 146) and a verification cohort (n = 60). Radiomics features were extracted from preoperative T2-weighted images, and a radiomics score model was constructed. Factors that were significant in the Cox multivariate analysis were used to construct the final morphological tumor model and clinicopathological model. A comprehensive model in the form of a line chart was established by combining the three models. Ten radiomics features significantly related to OS were selected to construct the radiomics feature model and calculate the radiomics score. In the morphological model, mesorectal extension depth and distance between the lower tumor margin and the anal margin were significant prognostic factors. N stage was the only significant clinicopathological factor. The comprehensive model combined with the above factors had the best prediction performance for OS. The C-index had a predictive performance of 0.872 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.832–0.912) in the training cohort and 0.944 (95% CI: 0.890–0.990) in the verification cohort, which was better than for any single model. The comprehensive model was divided into high-risk and low-risk groups. Kaplan-Meier curve analysis showed that all factors were significantly correlated with poor OS in the high-risk group. A comprehensive nomogram based on multi-model radiomics features can predict 3-year OS after rectal cancer surgery.

Primary intraosseous poorly differentiated synovial sarcoma is exceedingly rare. Here, we present a case of primary intraosseous poorly differentiated synovial sarcoma from the proximal femur in a 16-year-old girl. The case was initially misdiagnosed, but the correct diagnosis of synovial sarcoma was eventually confirmed by fluorescence in situ hybridization and next-generation sequencing. We review the literature pertaining to synovial sarcoma and show that this case is the second molecularly proven intraosseous poorly differentiated synovial sarcoma in the literature. Recognition of intraosseous synovial sarcoma composed of small round cells is imperative in order to avoid misdiagnosis of the tumor as Ewing sarcoma and other small round-cell tumors, all of which have markedly different clinical management.

The paper explores the representation of diasporic Muslim identities in a coming-of-age narrative: Arab American female novelist Mojha Kahf’s bestseller The Girl in the Tangerine Scarf published in 2006. It examines how the religious diasporic hybrid identity is mobilized within the female protagonist Khadra Shamy, including the ways she struggles to negotiate her identity across different cultural terrains and gendered, racialised, intergenerational configurations. It attempts to show how these literary representations construct – and help conceptualize—the ways we understand diasporic Muslims in the U.S. The individual experiences as narrated in the novel illuminate a series of essential socio-political questions facing the community as a religious minority in a secular context. This study will address these questions through the representation of cultural hybridity in the literary narrative within the framework of postcolonial theory. It focuses on three constructs of the novel central to the conceptualizing of a hybrid identity of the female protagonist: firstly, the mirror images and moral panics that generate cultural clashes in the East-West encounter, which foreground, secondly, the predicament of an ambivalent existence of the protagonist as a diasporic individual, and thirdly, the ways she forges her hybrid identity as a New Woman within the diasporic context.

The influence of density of amino groups, nanoparticles dimension and pH on the interaction between end-functionalized polymers and nanoparticles was extensively investigated in this study. PS–NH2 and H2N–PS–NH2 were prepared using reversible addition–fragmentation chain transfer polymerization and atom transfer radical polymerization. Zero-dimensional carbon dots with sulfonate groups, one-dimensional cellulose nanocrystals with sulfate groups and two-dimensional graphene with sulfonate groups in the aqueous phase were added into the toluene phase containing the aminated PS. The results indicate that aminated PS exhibited the strongest interfacial activity after compounding with sulfonated nanoparticles at a pH of 3. PS ended with two amino groups performed better in reducing the water/toluene interfacial tension than PS ended with only one amino group. The dimension of sulfonated nanoparticles also contributed significantly to the reduction in the water/toluene interfacial tension. The minimal interfacial tension was 4.49 mN/m after compounding PS–NH2 with sulfonated zero-dimensional carbon dots.

This paper discloses an efficient one-pot protocol to convert easily accessible 3-nitropyridines to 3-acetamidopyridin-2-yl 4-methylbenzenesulfonate derivatives which are core structures of many pharmaceutical molecules. The strategy successfully combined a three-step reaction in one pot via progressively adding different reactants at rt. The reaction displays good functional group tolerance and regioselectivity. Structurally diversified 3-nitropyridine could be time-efficiently (3.5 h) derivatized to various functional 2-O,3-N-pyridines which are apt for further elaborations. The transformation was amenable to gram-scale synthesis.

Abstract Objective To investigate the main causes, risk factors, and prognosis of patients hospitalized with syncope. Methods The patients admitted due to syncope were included. We analyzed the etiology, risk factors, and prognosis of patients with an average follow‐up of 15.3 months. Results High‐risk factors for cardiogenic syncope included age ≥60, male, hypertension, palpitation, troponin T‐positive, abnormal ECG, CHD history, and syncope‐related trauma. Mortality rate was 4.6%, recurrence rate of syncope was 10.5%, and the rehospitalization rate was 8.5%. Abstract Background Circular RNA PVT1 (circPVT1) is significantly upregulated in various human cancers and is related to poor clinical outcome of cancer patients. However, the prognostic and clinicopathological value of circPVT1 in diverse human cancers remains controversial and inconclusive. Aim The objective of our study is to evaluate the prognostic and clinicopathological role of circPVT1 for cancer patients. Methods and results PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library were searched for eligible studies by October 1, 2020. The correlation between circPVT1 expression, and overall survival (OS) and clinical parameters was assessed by pooled hazard ratios (HRs) and odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Subgroup analyses, heterogeneity, and publication bias were conducted to further enhance reliability. Zika virus (ZIKV), an emerging arthropod-borne flavivirus, was first isolated in Uganda in 1947 from monkeys and first detected in humans in Nigeria in 1952; it has been associated with a dramatic burden worldwide. Since then, interventions to reduce the burden of ZIKV infection have been mainly restricted to mosquito control, which in the end proved to be insufficient by itself. Hence, the situation prompted scientists to increase research on antivirals and vaccines against the virus. These efforts are still ongoing as the pathogenesis and immune evasion mechanisms of ZIKV have not yet been fully elucidated. Understanding the viral disease mechanism will provide a better landscape to develop prophylactic and therapeutic strategies against ZIKV. Currently, no specific vaccines or drugs have been approved for ZIKV. However, some are undergoing clinical trials. Notably, different platforms have been evaluated for the design of vaccines, including DNA, mRNA, viral vectors, virus-like particles (VLPs), inactivated virus, live attenuated virus, peptide and protein-based vaccines, passive immunizations by using monoclonal antibodies (MAbs), and vaccines that target vector-derived antigens. These vaccines have been shown to induce specific humoral and cellular immune responses and reduce viremia and viral RNA titers, both in vitro and in vivo. This review provides a comprehensive summary of current advancements in the development of vaccines against Zika virus.

Objective To assess the treatment of osteosarcomas of the femoral diaphysis through wide en bloc excision and reconstruction of the defect by pasteurized autograft combined with vascularized fibular transfer. Methods A single‐center, retrospective study was performed of 15 selected patients (six females, nine males) whose lesion in the middle diaphysis of the femur were treated by en bloc excision and reconstruction of the bone defect with recycled pasteurized autograft combined with vascularized fibular graft between January 2000 and December 2011. The primary diagnoses of the patients were osteosarcoma (15 patients), and one of these patients had a pathological fracture. The mean patient age at the time of surgery was 22.3 years (range, 10–40 years). All these cases of bone tumors were staged according to Ennekingʼs criteria with three stage IIA cases, and 12 stage IIB cases. The patients were examined clinically and radiologically every month during the first 6 months after surgery to exclude the evidence of infection and local recurrence, then at 3‐monthly intervals for 2 years and then at 6‐monthly intervals for life. Function was assessed using the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society Scoring system (MSTS). Results At a mean follow‐up of 65.1 months (range, 31–131 months), all the patients had achieved bony union at the final follow‐up. The mean time to bone union of the proximal junctions of vascularized fibula was 8.7 months (range, 6.0–13.0 months) and that of the distal junctions was 9.2 months (range, 6.0–12.0 months). Mean union time of the proximal junctions of the pasteurized autogenous bone was 14.3 months (range, 10.0–25.0 months) and that of the distal junctions was 15.6 months (range, 10.0–27.0 months). There were two fractures of the pasteurized bone during the operation. One patient, in whom the plate had been removed after union at 3 years postoperatively, sustained a fracture in a fall. This was treated with external fixation and united uneventfully. One patient, in whom two of the proximal screws had been broken, developed coxa vara. There was no infection. There were three pulmonary metastases and no local recurrence. The mean function score was 81.8%. Five patients died of their underlying disease, and the disease‐specific survival of patients was 69.1%. Conclusions Pasteurized autogenous bone graft combined with a vascularized fibula graft is a useful reconstruction method for large bone defects after resection of osteosarcoma in the femur.

The thesis studies the rising and falling trend of stocks by analyzing the emotional polarity of different professional issuing stocks. This paper proposes a sentiment analysis method based on a dictionary of consistent integrated financial phrases and weighted at the end of paragraph, which can solve the dependency problem of sentiment dictionary on the domain，and it can effectively improve the accuracy of sentiment analysis. In addition, this paper also proposed a windowed stock prediction model, which can be used to analyze the optimal value of the forecast event window. The experimental results shows that it will be better to predict the rising or falling trend of a particular stock just based on the stock market sentiment analysis.

In view of the problems of the inability to continuously adjust the seeding rate, small adjustment range, and low precision of the rice direct seed-metering device, a variable capacity roller-wheel seed-metering device was designed, fabricated, and verified. With the variable capacity method, the seeding rate could be adjusted steplessly and with high precision through the seeding rate adjusting mechanism. Meanwhile, theoretical analysis and parametric design of the critical components, such as the seeding wheel and the seeding rate adjusting mechanism, were carried out. The rotation speed of the seed-metering device, the sphericity of rice seeds, and the adjustment depth were selected as the main influencing factors of the experiment. Then, the full-factor experiment was conducted, and the results of the bench validation experiments showed that the average seeds per hill error of the seed-metering device could be controlled within 2%. Meanwhile, the seed-metering device performed the best when the rotation speed of the seed meter device was 30 r/min, the sphericity of rice seeds was 52.7%, and the hole depth was 6 mm. Compared to the conventional mechanical precision seed-metering device, the designed seed-metering device offered better seeding performance. The research results provide theoretical and practical references for the design of a rice seed-metering device and the development of precision agriculture.

Rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) is an important oilseed crop grown worldwide with a planting area of 6.57 million ha in China, which accounts for about 20% of the world’s total rapeseed planting area. However, in recent years, the planting area in China has decreased by approximately 12.2% due to the low yield and economic benefits. Thus, to ensure oil security, it is necessary to develop high-efficiency cultivation for rapeseed production. Crop growth models are powerful tools to analyze and optimize the yield composition of crops under certain environmental and management conditions. In this study, the CROPGRO-Canola model was first calibrated and evaluated using the rapeseed planting data of four growing seasons in Wuhan with nine nitrogen fertilizer levels (from 120 to 360 kg ha−1) and five planting densities (from 15 to 75 plants m−2). The results indicated that the CROPGRO-Canola model simulated rapeseed growth well under different nitrogen rates and planting densities in China, with a simulation error of 0–3 days for the anthesis and maturity dates and a normalized root mean square error lower than 7.48% for the yield. Furthermore, we optimized the management of rapeseed by calculating the marginal net return under 10 nitrogen rates (from 0 to 360 kg ha−1 at an increasing rate of 40 kg ha−1) and 6 planting densities (from 15 to 90 plant m−2 at an increasing rate of 15 plant m−2) from 1989 to 2019. The results indicated that the long-term optimal nitrogen rate was 120–160 kg N ha−1, and the optimal planting density was 45–75 plants m−2 under normal fertilizer prices. The optimal nitrogen rate decreased with increasing fertilizer price within a reasonable range. In conclusion, long-term rapeseed management can be optimized based on rapeseed and nitrogen cost using long-term weather records and local soil information.

Increasing domestic rapeseed production is an important national goal in China. Researchers often use tools such as crop models to determine optimum management practices for new varieties to increased production. The CROPGRO-Canola model has not been used to simulate rapeseed in China. The overall goal of this work was to identify key inputs to the CROPGRO-Canola model for calibration with limited datasets in the Yangtze River basin. First, we conducted a global sensitivity analysis to identify key genetic and soil inputs that have a large effect on simulated days to flowering, days to maturity, yield, above-ground biomass, and maximum leaf area index. The extended Fourier amplitude test method (EFAST) sensitivity analysis was performed for a single year at 8 locations in the Yangtze River basin (spatial analysis) and for seven years at a location in Wuhan, China (temporal analysis). The EFAST software was run for 4520 combinations of input parameters for each site and year, resulting in a sensitivity index for each input parameter. Parameters were ranked using the top-down concordance method to determine relative sensitivity. Results indicated that the model outputs of days to flowering, days to maturity, yield, above-ground biomass, and maximum leaf area index were most sensitive to parameters that affect the duration of critical growth periods, such as emergence to flowering, and temperature response to these stages, as well as parameters that affect total biomass at harvest. The five model outputs were also sensitive to several soil parameters, including drained upper and lower limit (SDUL and SLLL) and drainage rate (SLDR). The sensitivity of parameters was generally spatially and temporally stable. The results of the sensitivity analysis were used to calibrate and evaluate the model for a single rapeseed experiment in Wuhan, China. The model was calibrated using two seasons and evaluated using three seasons of data. Excellent nRMSE values were obtained for days to flowering (≤1.71%), days to maturity (≤ 1.48%), yield (≤ 9.96%), and above-ground biomass (≤ 9.63%). The results of this work can be used to guide researchers on model calibration and evaluation across the Yangtze River basin in China.

Background. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have critical regulatory functions in biological and pathological activities during osteosarcoma progression. It is important to elucidate the expression pattern and reveal the underlying mechanisms of the newly identified lncRNAs. Methods. Herein, we screened the differentially expressed lncRNAs in osteosarcoma tumors and cell lines using lncRNA microarray. The candidate lncRNA was further verified by qRT-PCR, and the association of gene expression with clinicopathological features was evaluated by Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis. The targeting miRNA was identified using starBase analysis, and the competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network was established by STRING. Overexpression and silence of RNA were detected by qRT-PCR. Osteosarcoma cell proliferation was measured with CCK-8 assay, and the migration and invasion were evaluated with Transwell assay. Colony formation assay was observed. Flow cytometry evaluated the cell cycle. Western blot was performed to detect the mitotic markers and apoptosis-related proteins. A nude mouse tumor formation experiment was used to evaluate osteosarcoma progression in vivo. Cooverexpressing miR-34b-3p with RAD51 reversed the miR-34b-3p-induced changes in proliferation, the cell cycle, the expression of H2A.X, and that of apoptosis-related proteins. Results. HCG9 was identified as osteosarcoma-associated lncRNA. Osteosarcoma tissues and cell lines expressed higher levels of HCG9 as compared to normal tissues and osteoblasts, and high expression of HCG9 was further proved to be related to metastasis and the grade of osteosarcoma in clinical cases. Knockdown of HCG9 inhibited the proliferation, migration, and invasion of osteosarcoma cells. miR-34b-3p was identified as the target of HCG9, and RAD51 acted as a potential target of miR-34b-3p. Cooverexpressing miR-34b-3p with HCG9 partially suppressed the HCG9-stimulated proliferation, migration, and invasion of osteosarcoma cells in vitro and delayed the tumor progression in vivo. Conclusion. We discovered that lncRNA HCG9 promoted the proliferation of osteosarcoma cells via suppressing miR-34b-3p. Our study provides novel biomarkers and potential therapeutic targets for osteosarcoma treatment.
