Fuel consumption when skidding wood is one of the main indicators that form the cost price of the final product and depends both on the conditions under which logging takes place and on the performance characteristics of the machines. For this purpose, observations were made to determine the fuel consumption of the TAF 690 PE cable skidder when skidding whole stems and long stem sections of coniferous wood materials in mountainous conditions and on a straight slope of the terrain. At each course, the amount of fuel consumed was recorded by filling the tank to its maximum level. Also, the volume of skidded materials, the number of stems, the time for each course, incl. and the times for course load formation and unloading. The goal is to determine the fuel consumption for one cubic meter of skidded materials under the specific environmental and production conditions, incl. slope of the terrain and type of materials. Based on this to determine the cost per unit length of the skidding road. A passive experiment was conducted. Through statistical processing of the results, the influence of individual factors on fuel consumption was established. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
