Tiivistelmä. Tässä tutkimuksessa keskitytään musiikki- ja draamakasvatuksen opiskelijoiden kokemuksiin tunnetaitojen kehittymisestä musiikki- ja draamatyöpajassa. Tutkimukseen osallistuneiden aikuisopiskelijoiden kanssa tehtiin erilaisia harjoituksia, joissa yhdisteltiin musiikkia, draamaa ja tunnekasvatusta. Tutkimuksen teoreettinen viitekehys koostuu kahdesta eri luvusta. Ensimmäisessä luvussa avaan tunne-sanan käsitettä ja kerron tunnetaidoista sekä tunnekasvatuksesta. Toisessa luvussa kerron musiikkikasvatuksen tavoitteista koulussa. Tämän lisäksi kerron myös musiikin ja tunteiden yhteyksistä. Käsittelen toisessa luvussa vielä draamakasvatuksen opetusta ja tavoitteita sekä draaman ja tunteiden yhteyttä. Lopuksi kerron vielä kahdesta tutkimuksesta, joissa draamaan on lisätty musiikkia. Tutkimus on toimintatutkimuksen tyyppinen, jossa kolme (N=3) aikuisopiskelijaa, joiden pääaineena on musiikkikasvatus tai sivuaineena draamakasvatus, ovat osallistuneet musiikki- ja draamatyöpajaan. Työpajassa harjoitettiin tunnetaitoja, joihin kuuluvat kuuntelemisen taidot, omien tunteiden tunnistaminen, omien tunteiden ilmaisu, toisten tunteiden ymmärtäminen ja omien tunteiden hallitseminen. Opiskelijat vastasivat työpajan alussa ja lopussa kyselyyn, jossa kartoitettiin opiskelijoiden omia kokemuksia tunnetaitojen kehittymisestä. Tämän lisäksi opiskelijat pitivät harjoituskertojen jälkeen päiväkirjaa, joita on myös hyödynnetty tässä tutkimuksessa. Laadullista aineistoa olen analysoinut sisällönanalyysillä. Koska tunteet ovat olennainen osa musiikkia ja draamaa, halusin selvittää, voidaanko niiden avulla kehittää tunnetaitoja. Vaikka tunnekasvatus on melko uusi tieteenala, kouluissa on vihdoin aloitettu myös tunne- ja vuorovaikutustaitojen opetus. Musiikilla on kyky esimerkiksi herättää muistoja, helpottaa tunteiden purkamista, rauhoittaa ja lievittää stressiä. Draamakasvatusta taas voidaan hyödyntää tunnekasvatuksessa, koska se tarjoaa mahdollisuuksia oppia ilmaisutaitoa ja ryhmätyöskentelytaitoja.

Tiivistelmä. Tämä kandidaatin tutkielma käsittelee nuorten tunneilmaisutaitojen tukemista musiikkikasvatuksessa draaman keinoin. Tässä tutkielmassa tarkastellaan sitä, miten draama ja musiikki ovat yhteydessä tunteisiin, miten musiikinopettaja voi hyödyntää draamaa opetuksessa ja millä tavoin draama- ja musiikkikasvatus toimivat nuorten tunneilmaisutaitojen tukena. Tutkielman aihe valikoitui kiinnostuksesta draamaan ja sen yhdistämisestä musiikkikasvatukseen. Tutkielma on systemaattinen kirjallisuuskatsaus. Kirjallisuus koostuu lähinnä draama-, musiikki-, taide-, ja tunnekasvatuksen kirjoista sekä artikkeleista. Tunteet ovat olennainen osa sekä draamaa että musiikkia. Erityisesti nuoret käyttävät musiikkia apuna tunteiden käsittelyyn. Tutkielma käsittelee seuraavia tutkimuskysymyksiä: Miten draama auttaa nuoria ilmaisemaan tunteita musiikinopetuksessa, ja miten musiikki- ja draamakasvatus toimii nuorten tunneilmaisun tukena? Tunnekasvatus on melko uusi, mutta ajankohtainen tieteenala. Tunnekasvatuksessa voidaan hyödyntää draamaa ja musiikkia hyvin. Luomalla turvallinen tila luokkaan, oppilailla on mahdollisuus itsetutkiskeluun ja vapaaseen itseilmaisuun ilman muiden arvostelua. Turvallisessa ympäristössä on helpompaa näyttää tunteita. Opettajan rooli on tärkeä tunnekasvatuksessa, koska hän toimii esimerkkinä oppilaille.

Plasma gamma-glutamyltransferase (GGT) was suggested to reflect the level of systemic oxidative stress. Oxidative stress induces changes in arterial structure and function and contributes to the development of hypertension. Therefore, GGT may be associated with arterial remodeling and blood pressure (BP) increment, even in absence of disease. To test this hypothesis, we evaluated, in 825 healthy subjects at low cardiometabolic risk, the associations of plasma GGT with carotid artery intima-media thickness (IMT), luminal diameter and prehypertension; in 154 subjects was evaluated also the association with aortic stiffness (cfPWV). Associations were controlled for insulin sensitivity, C-reactive protein, and life-style habits. In the main population, BP was remeasured after 3 years. Carotid diameter and cfPWV, but not IMT, were directly and independently related to plasma GGT. Subjects with prehypertension (N = 330) had higher GGT as compared with subjects with normal BP (22 [14] vs 17 [11] IU/L; adjusted P = 0.001), and within prehypertensive subjects, those who developed hypertension during 3 years had higher GGT than those without incident hypertension (27 [16] vs 21 [14] IU/L; adjusted P < 0.05). Within subjects with arterial stiffness measurement, those with prehypertension (N = 79) had higher both GGT and arterial stiffness (25 [14] vs 16 [20] IU/L and 9.11 ± 1.24 vs 7.90 ± 0.94 m/s; adjusted P < 0.01 and

The Finnish farmhouse ale sahti is unique in that it is fermented with baking, rather than brewing strains of Saccharomyces cerevisae. The custom of maintaining farmhouse yeast cultures is however no longer practiced in Finland, and much yeast derived diversity in sahti beers has presumably been lost as a consequence. Here, the brewing potential of a number of sourdough derived strains was tested with respect to a number of different fermentation traits. Seven strains originally isolated from Finnish or Italian sourdough cultures were used to ferment high gravity sahti wort (20°P), and fermentation performance together with production of volatile compounds were assessed and compared with a reference baking yeast. Strains differed in terms of fermentation rate, yield, yeast viability and beer flavour profile. All were maltotriose positive, but utilisation varied so that alcohol yield could be greater or lower than that of the reference strain, with values ranging from 6.6 to 7.9% (v/v). Production of aroma compounds was also variable so that it was possible to identify strains producing high levels of esters and those with lower production, which could be used to emphasise flavours originating from raw materials. All strains generated 4‐vinyl guaiacol and so would be suitable for other beers where this is a part of the normal flavour profile. Results suggest that sourdough isolates of S. cerevisiae are suitable for sahti production, but could also be applied to other beer styles as a way to differentiate products.

A gamified approach to promoting reflection and to engaging users in rehearsing decision-making in a dietary context was studied. The game was based on the principles of the Implicit Attitude Test, but was not a complete IAT in itself like the original test at projectimplicit.net: by categorising food items under positive or negative associations the players gained points according to their categorisation speed but the score was merely indicative of attitudinal alignment with the target response. Showing the scores was a vehicle for reflection, and repeated playing constituted response rehearsal. Research questions: (1) does a gamified process of drawing attention to implicit attitudes evoke self-reflection and (2) does gamification of response rehearsal contribute positively to behaviour change? We expected the exposure to one’s own choices in the game to heighten the awareness of personal food choices. Experiment participants (N = 58) played the game over a five-day period. Constructs of Rehearsal, Reflection, Perceived Persuasiveness, and Perceived Health Behaviour Change were analysed using PLS-SEM. The findings point to rehearsal having a role in how reflection and perceived persuasiveness are connected. Reflection was involved in the self-reported behaviour change, and perceived persuasiveness can promote behaviour change. Open-ended questions showed awareness of choice having a behavioural effect.

Introduction Chondroblastoma is a rare benign bone tumour that usually occurs in children and young adults. They are cartilaginous tumours arising in the epiphysis or apophysis of a long bone. The tumour is classified as benign, although rare cases of pulmonary metastases have been reported. The aims of this study were to describe clinical, radiographic characteristics of chondroblastoma; to analyse the local recurrence rate and complications associated with surgery. Material and methods This retrospective study included 177 patients, who had been diagnosed with a chondroblastoma in extremity between 1990 and 2015. Results The most common site was proximal tibia 20%, followed by proximal humerus 19%, proximal femur 18%, distal femur 16% and foot 15%. One patient has died of the disease and one patient is alive after being operated for lung metastases. There was local recurrence in 25/177 (14%) patients. The median time to local recurrence was 10 months (range 3-158 months). The most common site for local recurrence was proximal tibia (22.2%). The proximal femur was the location in 32/178 (18%) of the cases. 18/32 (56%) were in the greater trochanter and 14/32 (44%) in the femoral head. The mean age was lower in tumours located in femoral head when compared to the greater trochanter; 19.5 years and 13.9 years respectively (p=0.004). Tumours located in greater trochanter were all curetted without further complications. Local recurrence was seen more often in femoral head tumours, though without statistical significance; 3/14 (21%) and none, respectively (p=0.073). Conclusions Chondroblastoma is a rare benign to intermediate grade bone tumour with a potential to metastasise. Femoral head chondroblastoma is rare, presenting 4.5% of all chondroblastoma cases. Around 50% of the chondroblastoma in femoral head. occur in patients with open growth plates.

Experimental studies suggest that the fatty acid palmitoleate may act as an adipocyte-derived lipid hormone (or ‘lipokine’) to regulate systemic metabolism. We investigated the relationship of circulating palmitoleate with insulin sensitivity, beta cell function and glucose tolerance in humans. Plasma NEFA concentration and composition were determined in non-diabetic individuals from the Relationship between Insulin Sensitivity and Cardiovascular disease (RISC) study cohort at baseline (n = 1234) and after a 3 year follow-up (n = 924). Glucose tolerance, insulin secretion and beta cell function were assessed during an OGTT. Whole-body insulin sensitivity was measured by a hyperinsulinaemic–euglycaemic clamp (M/I) and OGTT (oral glucose insulin sensitivity index [OGIS]). The liver insulin resistance index was calculated using clinical and biochemical data. Body composition including fat mass was determined by bioelectrical impedance. Circulating palmitoleate was proportional to fat mass (r = 0.21, p < 0.0001) and total NEFA levels (r = 0.19, p < 0.0001). It correlated with whole-body insulin sensitivity (M/I: standardised regression coefficient [std. β] = 0.16, p < 0.0001), liver insulin resistance (std. β = −0.14, p < 0.0001), beta cell function (potentiation: std. β = 0.08, p = 0.045) and glucose tolerance (2 h glucose: std. β = −0.24, p < 0.0001) after adjustment for age, sex, BMI, adiposity and other NEFA. High palmitoleate concentrations prevented the decrease in insulin sensitivity associated with excess palmitate (p = 0.0001). In a longitudinal analysis, a positive independent relationship was observed between changes in palmitoleate and insulin sensitivity over time (std. β = 0.07, p = 0.04). We demonstrated that plasma palmitoleate is an independent determinant of insulin sensitivity, beta cell function and glucose tolerance in non-diabetic individuals. These results support the role of palmitoleate as a beneficial lipokine released by adipose tissue to prevent the negative effects of adiposity and excess NEFA on systemic glucose metabolism.

Diabetes self-management applications can provide functions facilitating the management of the disease. Having better self-management can lead to better glycemic control and even decrease inpatient care costs through preventing complications. Therefore, it is important to have an application that is pleasant to use and has the features needed to support self-management. This Master’s thesis is a qualitative research of the topic “Makings of a Relationship: Perceived Qualities of Type 1 Diabetes Self-management Applications”. This research analyses love- and break-up letters and date-adverts from 33 respondents by using grounded theory as a method. The goal of this thesis is to reveal which elements or qualities of type 1 diabetes self-management applications affect the user experience of these applications. Moreover, this research analyses answers from a questionnaire in the aim of finding what persuasive features have the biggest effect on those experiences. Based on the results, the most important elements or qualities in self-management applications are automatic data transfer, visualization, dose calculation, pleasant outlook, ease of use, and connection with health care personnel. The persuasive features having positive effects on user experience are reminders, tailoring/personalisation, similarity, liking, social role, self-monitoring, and trustworthiness/expertise. In this research, competition, social comparison and recognition were strongly rejected as being possibly harming features in diabetes self-management.

Tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan nuorten aikuisten osallisuutta sosiaalisen kuntoutuksen palvelujen asiakkaina Rovaniemellä, Kittilässä ja Inarissa. Tutkimuksen aineisto koostuu 24 nuoren yksilöhaastatteluista, neljästä sosiaalisen kuntoutuksen palveluntuottajien ryhmähaastattelusta sekä tilastoaineistosta. Nuorten aikuisten osallisuuden tukemisessa korostuu nuorten kokemustiedon, paikallisuuden ja paikallisen kulttuurin merkitykset. Erityisesti kokemustiedon huomioiminen tarjoaa nuorille aikuisille väylän vaikuttaa sosiaalisen kuntouksen palveluprosessiin. Nuorten aikuisten haastatteluista erottuu neljä erilaista toimijuuden roolia (positiota): omaan kuntoutumiseen panostava, yhteisöllinen vastuunkantaja ja toiminnan kehittäjä, etsijä sekä ajelehtija. Eri toimijuuden roolit vaikuttavat siihen, millainen merkitys sosiaalisella kuntoutuksella on nuorille aikuisille. Sosiaalisen kuntoutuksen toteuttamiseen vaikuttaa samanaikaisesti useita ammatillisia ajattelu- ja toimintatapoja (rationaliteetteja). Tärkeää on erityisesti yhteisöllinen toiminta, jossa nuorta tuetaan osana paikallisyhteisöään ja sosiaalisia verkostojaan. Monialaisen yhteistyön merkitys korostuu sosiaalisen kuntoutuksen toteuttamisessa. Sosiaalinen kuntoutus on vielä käsitteenä, palveluna ja ammattikäytäntöinä osin jäsentymätöntä sekä työntekijöille että asiakkaille. Tutkimuksen perusteella sosiaalisen kuntoutuksen sisällölliselle ja käsitteelliselle kehittämiselle on selkeä tarve. 30,00 euroa
