In this paper, the problem of estimating the mean vector under non-negative constraints on location vector of the multivariate normal distribution is investigated. The value of the wavelet threshold based on Stein's unbiased risk estimators is calculated for the shrinkage estimator in restricted parameter space. We suppose that covariance matrix is unknown and we find the dominant class of shrinkage estimators under Balance loss function. The performance evaluation of the proposed class of estimators is checked through a simulation study by using risk and average mean square error values. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The methods of estimation of nonparametric regression function are quite common in statistical application. In this paper, the new Bayesian wavelet thresholding estimation is considered. The new mixture prior distributions for the estimation of nonparametric regression function by applying wavelet transformation are investigated. The reversible jump algorithm to obtain the appropriate prior distributions and value of thresholding is used. The performance of the proposed estimator is assessed with simulated data from well-known test functions by comparing the convergence rate of the proposed estimator with respect to another by evaluating the average mean square error and standard deviations. Introduction: The bean weevil, Acanthoscelides obtectus , is one of the most important pests of the common bean, Phaseolus vulgaris . The pest attacks P. vulgaris seeds while they are still in the field. However, the damage continues during storage, where it causes the most significant losses., Methods: The present study was conducted to evaluate the insecticidal activity, and synergic effects of three essential oils (EOs) extracted from fennel ( Foeniculum vulgare ), tarragon ( Artemisia dracunculus ), and lavender ( Lavandula angustifolia ), and three isolates from an entomopathogenic fungus (EPF), Metarhizium anisopliae , including IRAN2273C, IRAN2252C, and IRAN1018C against the adults of A. obtectus . The effects of EOs were also evaluated on mycelial growth and conidiation of the fungal isolates., Results and Discussion: The results showed that all the EOs and the EPF exhibited insecticidal activity against A. obtectus . According to calculated LC 50 , L. angustifolia (1.2526 µl/l) and F. vulgare (0.9247 µl/l) EOs caused significantly higher mortality than A. dracunculus (3.1980 µl/l) against A. obtectus. The results of the pathogenicity of M. anisopliae isolates revealed that all isolates had insecticidal activity against A. obtectus . The cumulative mortality of insects varied from 59.12% in IRAN1018C to 80.86% in IRAN2273C. According to the compatibility test results, all EOs were compatible with fungal isolates except for A. dracunculus , which was toxic to the IRAN2252C isolate and showed incompatibility. The mortality of A. obtectus adults differed significantly among combined treatments of EOs and M. anisopliae isolates. According to the calculated synergic ratio, combinations of essential oils and fungal isolates had additive or synergistic effects on the mortality of A. obtectus . Based on the present findings, A. obtectus adults were susceptible to fennel, and lavender EOs, and their mortality was amplified when the EOs were combined with M. anisopliae isolates. Hidradenitis suppurativa has a substantial negative effect on quality of life of affected persons. Diagnosis is based mainly on clinical examination. However, physi-cal examination alone might underestimate disease severity compared with imaging modalities. We report here the application of non-contrast-enhanced 3-Tesla magnetic resonance imaging using surface-coil and sonography for assessment of hidradenitis suppurativa lesions based on topographic assessment of skin lesions. In addition, we review the literature regarding the application of ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging in hidradenitis suppurativa.

Electrochemotherapy is becoming a promising technique for the management of malignancies of skin and non-skin origin. The current review aims to clarify current knowledge on administration of electrochemotherapy for the treatment of various skin tumours. A systematic literature search was performed, up to the end of 2016, on studies in which the application of electrochemotherapy for management of primary and metastatic cutaneous malignant tumours was assessed. Having selected appropriate studies, pooled estimates of mean objective (complete) responses, with 95% confidence intervals (CIs), were calculated to assess treatment efficacy. Finally, the main emerging themes from the papers were discussed in more detail. From 465 records identified through database searching, a total of 128 studies were screened, of which 70 were included for review. After a pooled analysis, the estimate for mean objective response following electrochemotherapy was 84.02% (95% CI: 80.08-87.61). Furthermore, the pooled estimate of objective treatment response of evaluated studies was 83.91% (95% CI: 79.15-88.17%) for bleomycin and 80.82% (95% CI: 66.00-92.36%) for cisplatin. Electrochemotherapy is a feasible, inexpensive, fast and easy technique to perform local treatment, regardless of tumour type, with a low level of adverse effects and patient discomfort. This method can be applied alone for patients with primary cutaneous lesions, or local or locoregional metastases, or as an additional treatment modality in patients with distant metastases.
