Abstract

In this paper, we adopt the concept of pheromone to generate a set of static paths that can reach the performance of global dynamic routing strategy [Phys. Rev. E 81, 016113(2010)]. In the test stage, pheromone is dropped to the nodes by packets forwarded by the global dynamic routing strategy. After that, static paths are generated according to the density of pheromone. The output paths can greatly improve traffic systems' overall capacity on different network structures, including scale-free networks, small-world networks and random graphs. Because the paths are static, the system needs much less computational resource than the global dynamic routing strategy., Comment: 10 pages, 6 figures

The concept of Digital Twin was invented not only for a static virtual mimic of reality, but also means an evolving digital copy which could stay consistent with its physical counterpart. The life-cycle management of a product or a system could not be completed without dynamic feature, while conventional methods to create graphic assets especially 3D models for Digital Twins are still limited. In this paper, Procedural Content Generation is introduced as a potential technique which could reduce difficulty for the creation and modification of 3D graphic assets of Digital Twins. Abstract

Digital Twin can provide emergency response staff with large quantities of useful information about the emergency. However, the capability of the staff to understand and use the information correctly is equally as important. Hence, regular crisis management training is required in sophisticated manufacturing systems. Still, the time and location constraints limit the frequency of conducting such practices. As such, virtual reality-based crisis management training methods were proposed in the literature. However, little research was conducted to investigate the underlying mechanisms that drive both the perception and the adoption of virtual reality for crisis management training among users. To address this research gap, this study proposed a research model to examine the effects of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived behavioral control, application-specific self-efficacy, and attitude on users' acceptance of the system. A partial least squares structural equation modeling approach was used for model testing based on 103 valid observations. The results demonstrated that the constructs proposed in our study determined user acceptance of the system, and the research model was able to explain 60% of the variance in behavioral intention.
