In den Theoriediskussionen und im Alltagsgeschäft der Geschlechterforschung spielen Überlegungen zum Verhältnis von Körper und Sprache eine wichtige Rolle. Während in dekonstruktivistischen Ansätzen der Körper und körperliche Erfahrungen als immer schon sprachlich vermittelt gelten, wird der Eigenwilligkeit des Körpers in aktuellen aktivistischen Kontexten sowie phänomenologischen Ansätzen eine besondere Funktion für den Wandel der Geschlechterordnung zugesprochen. Gemeinsam ist diesen Ansätzen, dass sie Sprache und Körper als voneinander unterscheidbare und einander entgegengesetzte Entitäten denken. Unsere Intervention möchte, ausgehend vom erlebenden und sprechenden Leib, das Denken in den Bahnen des Paradigmas Körper/Sprache kritisieren und Vorschläge zu einem para-doxen Ausweg aus der Polarisierung von Sprachprimat und Leibemphase machen. Hierfür wird auf Überlegungen Roland Barthes’ zu Materialität und Leiblichkeit (poetischer) Sprache, auf Erkenntnisse aus der linguistischen Pragmatik sowie auf den Ansatz des US-amerikanischen Sprachphilosophen und Psychotherapeuten Eugene T. Gendlin zurückgegriffen. Die Produktivität eines Ansatzes, der aus diesen Positionen einen neuen Blick auf Geschlecht gewinnt, wird abschließend in einer knappen Lektüre von Kim de l’Horizons autofiktionalem Roman Blutbuch (2022) durchgespielt.

Der Artikel thematisiert eine osteopathische Praxeologie, die phänomenologisch-anthropologisch innerviert ist. Besprochen werden die Tastwelt der Osteopath*innen, eine mittels Tastsinn berührende Erlebnispraxis zwischen Osteopath*in und Patienten*in und die diese Praxis bestimmenden Regelwerke. Begründet werden soll eine Wahrnehmungs- und Handlungswissenschaft, in der Deskriptionen und Analysen der subjektiven Bewusstseinsleistung systematisch beforscht werden, am besten zu verstehen als ein Forschungsfeld, in dem die Akteur*innen der Osteopathie im Fokus stehen – weniger die Ergebnisse ihrer Handlungen, denn dies klärt die Stellung, das berufliche Selbst- und Weltverhältnis unserer Profession für den Diskurs zu anderen Wissenschaftsfeldern. Die osteopathische Forschungsgemeinschaft sollte interessiert sein, hier zu investieren. An osteopathic praxeology is discussed that is perspectively phenomenologically-anthropologically innervated. The world of touch of the osteopath with his or her acting set of rules is discussed in order to establish a science of perception and osteopathic action; thus to be understood as a future field of research in which also the actor of osteopathy is the focus of research and not only the results of his or her action. The paper argues that Plessner's theory of positionality can be traced back to Kant's theory of predicabilia in the Critique of Pure Reason. Kant's theory of predicabilia allows for the reformulation of Plessner's distinction between the organic structure of the living body on the one hand and the positional unity of this living body on the other hand. This enables a concept of non-physical spatiality from which Plessner's concept of the boundary can be derived. Therefore, Plessner's theory of positionality competes neither with Kant's transcendental epistemology nor with his anthropology but rather extends his philosophy of science. Plessner develops the conceptual specifics of living beings, supplementing Kant's concept of matter as the specific object of physics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article analyses the German words 'Leib' and 'Körper' that can both be translated as 'the body' in English and as 'le corps' in French. The human body is a central object in the philosophies of Friedrich Nietzsche and Michel Foucault. Whilst 'Körper', originating in Latin, commonly refers to the body, 'Leib' stems from Middle High German meaning 'the body', 'life', and 'person'. Nietzsche's use of 'Leib' must be understood as an idiosyncrasy, an Untranslatable following Cassin. In Nietzsche's thought, he insists on the aspects of life and the will to live, positing that the body ought not to be abstracted in philosophy. I show that the word 'Leib' is functional in Nietzsche's philosophy on which, in turn, Foucault draws. Walter Seitter's German translations of Foucault, especially of the essay 'Nietzsche, la généalogie, l'histoire' (1971) and the book Surveiller et punir. Naissance de la prison (1975), alternate between 'Leib' and 'Körper' to translate Foucault's 'le corps'. This raises the question which of the two words is most effective in translating 'the body' in Foucault. I argue that Foucault problematises Nietzsche's 'Leib' because the body's vital force and personal intimacy are at stake in a new political economy of the body. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The author pleads for the reintroduction of the concept of the term »Leib« into the discussion, in order to counteract the reification of existence, which is the current trend towards guidelinebased therapy. In diesem Beitrag wird der coronabedingte Berührungsentzug und der dadurch entstandene skin hunger aus phänomenologischer Perspektive beleuchtet. Dabei wird zunächst die Leiblichkeit des Subjektes thematisiert und erläutert, dass zwischen Leiblichkeit und Berührung ein gegenseitiges Konstitutionsverhältnis besteht. Darauf aufbauend, wird die Haut als Medium der Berührbarkeit und zugleich ihre identitätsstiftende Bedeutung vorgestellt. Die Auseinandersetzung mit dem Leib und dem Haut- Ich macht deutlich, dass das Subjekt ständig mit sich selbst, der Welt und potentiell mit seinen Mitmenschen in Berührung steht. Die Zwischenleiblichkeit und die in ihr grundgelegte Möglichkeit zur Fremdberührung, welche stets durch die Haut vermittelt ist, eröffnen ein Verständnis für die Gewichtigkeit der Haut-Nähe und Haut-Berührung für die intersubjektive Kommunikation und für die menschliche Vulnerabilität. Schließlich werden zentrale Gesichtspunkte des permanenten Berührungsentzuges, welcher einen erheblichen Vulnerabilitätsfaktor darstellt, vermittelt.

Proximity is a component of social situations that often receives little explicit attention in everyday experience but becomes especially poignant during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ethnographic data allow us to demonstrate how proximity is produced and avoided when bodies are not only coded as infectious and thus vulnerable, but also experienced in this vulnerability. Following the phenomenological concepts of Maurice Merleau-Ponty and Hermann Schmitz, this path of experience will be reconstructed with the body at the centre of the hermeneutic interpretations. Furthermore, the field of everyday transformations through the pandemic will serve a more general interest: How is the experience of proximity integrated into the physical approach to the world? An insightful approach to this aspect of experience will be presented. Physicality and proximity are to be related by interweaving phenomenological theories and observational data in order to enable a perspective on social situations that approaches the experience in a comprehensible way.
