Childhood is a unique and intrinsic circumstance to the development and growth of the human being. At that stage the cerebral architecture is being established, and its biopsychosocial structuring is in constant formation. Developmental delay may be associated with various childhood conditions, such as congenital factors, social constructs, and environmental conditions. Priority strategies for child health care should enable a healthier life, with a focus on social, economic, demographic and clinical indicators, and the situational diagnosis of the living conditions of these children is of fundamental importance. To know the socioeconomic, demographic and clinical profile of the children attending a referral service in the care of children with delayed neurodevelopment. This is an exploratory, descriptive, retrospective research with a quantitative approach, carried out at the Multidisciplinary Assistance Center for Child Neurodevelopment (NAMNI) of the Maternity and Childhood Protection Association of Vitoria de Santo Antao - APAMI Vitoria. The sample consisted of all children attending the service (n = 194). A structured instrument was used and filled in by the medical records and cadastral records. It was verified that the majority of families had a monthly income of up to one minimum wage. It was noted that most of those in charge have completed high school. Among the children the main diagnosis was Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). It could be concluded that the socioeconomic profile of the patients attended in the nucleus contemplates a low income, with an average level of schooling and that can not pay for a particular treatment.
